Thanks to its mild winters and hot summers, Kvarner has slowly become an extremely popular destination for travelers. Located in the Mediterranean, Kvarner has been able to expand its tourism base while maintaining a solid industry to support the economy. If you plan on taking a trip to Kvarner, here are three places that you should make sure you don't miss out on:

Krk: Krk is an island located in Kvarner bay. It is one of the biggest islands in this area, being at a size of approximately four hundred and nine square kilometers. One interesting fact about Krk is that it receives over twenty-five hundred hours of sun every year. If you are able to make it to Krk, make sure to visit Cave Biserujka, Bay Soline and Kosljun. Popular activities on the island of Krk include diving, walking, various sports and a variety of adventure activities including mountain biking, sea kayaking and trekking.

Rab: Rab features an extremely unique landscape. On the northeastern side of the island, the landscape is mostly bare. However, on the southwestern side of the island, the landscape is covered with green pine forests. Rab has become an extremely popular location for travelers because of its breathtaking beaches and many events, which include the Rab Medieval festival and Rab arbalest tournament.

Opatija: Opatija, which is known as the Pearl of the Adriatic Sea, is located below a mountain and next to a nature park. Regardless of whether you want to vacation in the summer or winter, Opatija has a lot of excellent things to offer. Opatija is well-known for its parks, beaches, rustic Austrian villas, seaside promenade and of course, its natural beauty. If you enjoy cultural activities, Opatija offers many one of a kind cultural events like exhibits, festivals and indoor and outdoor concerts. <bio>Visit http://explorecroatia.net/ for more information on visiting Kvarner and Croatia. </bio>

Everybody wishes to own a home close to the coast. You can laze around on the beach. You can wash off the sweat with a dip in the sea. If you are the adventurous type, you can try scuba diving, wind surfing or water skiing. If you are more of a poet, then you can write your poems as you watch a glorious sunset. If you have children, or are hoping to be a child all over again, you can try collecting the shells brought in by a gentle tide. Beach getaways do cater to the tastes of the whole family.

The island of Krk off the coast of Croatia is one such place. Located in the Kvarner Gulf, the island of Krk is also called the "Golden Island". One look at the place will definitely answer why. If you are looking for sun, sea, and superb hospitality, this island is a great holiday destination for all tourists. It has beautiful natural landscapes that could win you photography contests. The waters of the Mediterranean lap beautifully at its shores. Lush greenery and gentle bays greet anyone who has been fortunate enough to visit the island.

Of course, the stunning scenery is not all that there is. The island of Krk also has a number of towns that date back to the Roman empire, such as the town of Omislaj in the north of the island. Punat, towards the south, is well known for its sophisticated marinas and the major regattas it hosts each year, while Baska, in the east of the island, boasts of some of the world's best beaches. For those more interested in nightlife and food, the popular tourist resort of Malinska offers a plethora of lively nightclubs and restaurants.

If you like to fish, or are ready to try and experiment with different types of seafood, this is a great place to be in. The Kvarner Gulf is well known for its wide variety of fish. In and around the island you can find sea bass, bream and sardines through to squid and octopus, based on what sounds the most interesting. The people in general are very friendly and hospitable, and will advise you on the dishes that you should not miss out on, or indeed, where the best fishing is to be found.

The island of Krk is extremely popular among tourists searching for unspoilt islands and secluded beaches. However, the great thing about this Central European Island is that it is very well-connected to other European nations. The international airport of Rijeka is actually located on the northern part of the island, and services mainland Croatia via a spectacular bridge, as well as by ferry. Moreover, the distance between Krk and other Mediterranean countries is small. If you like, you could visit nearby Venice in Italy, or alternatively simply drive over to Vienna.

I know that I would love to purchase some property in a place like this. Moreover, the island of Krk is growing in importance as a good place to invest in. Krk has already become a tourists' paradise. Now, it is aspiring to win the hearts of real estate investors as well. I am sure that most of us would be interested. <bio>Read about Croatia Property and Villas for Sale at http://www.croatianvillasforsale.co.uk/ The Island of Krk at http://www.croatianvillasforsale.co.uk/croatianvillasforsale_krk.htm Buying Property in Croatia http://www.croatianvillasforsale.co.uk/buying-property-in-croatia/buying-gu= ide-overview.htm </bio>
