There are many options available when you choose to take a honeymoon in Kenya, and one of the most obvious is an adventure safari, and visiting perhaps just one game reserve or several.

Choosing a game reserve for any Kenyan Safari can be difficult especially with no experience to fall back on, so this article about Buffalo Springs may help you to make your mind up about where you want to go.

The name Buffalo Springs comes from an oasis which is to be found on the western edge of the game reserve.

The main reason for setting up Buffalo Springs was to protect the wildlife on the banks of the River Ewaso Ngiro.

Buffalo Springs is one of three reserves and the Buffalo and the Samburu are adjacent and only separated by river, and the third is the Shaba. The biggest is Buffalo Springs covering an area of over 130 square Kilometres, and was first opened in 1985. Buffalo and the Samburu should be considered one unit despite the river separating them.

To get to Buffalo Springs you can drive on good roads from Nairobi or fly in, and there are daily flights from Nairobi.

Within the game reserve there is a good network of roads easily passable by motor vehicle.

The main reason for visiting Buffalo Springs is the fact that with the other two reserves they make up one of the most interesting and unique places in Kenya to visit.

This is because they are all in the rough north of the country at the edge of what was known as the Northern Frontier District, and whilst they are the most remote and inaccessible of Kenya's popular reserves they are the most accessible in the Northern Frontier District. These game reserves are about 200 miles north of Nairobi.

The remoteness of Buffalo Springs, Samburu and Shaba means you will see species that are rare in Kenya, and almost impossible to see in other game reserves. Included here are species like Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, and the Beisa Oryx.

Apart from the rare species, you can expect to see cheetahs, elephant, hippos, leopards, and lion, but no rhino. There are over 350 species of birds to be found at Buffalo Springs so it is a great place for ornithologists.

If you wish to take an adventure safari to Buffalo Springs you should take in the other two game reserves as part of the Kenyan safari, and there are good camps to stay at.

The Samburu Serena Lodge is technically not in Buffalo Springs but it can only be entered from inside. Buffalo Springs Tented Lodge at the south bank of the river.

If you want to stay in Samburu or Shaba, be warned that you will need to pay to enter Buffalo Springs, and the choices are between the classical Samburu Lodge, Larsens a luxury tented camp, Samburu Intrepids Club which is a totally stilted camp. In Shaba there is the Sarova Shaba Lodge.

The great thing about the Buffalo Springs Game reserve area is the lack of tourists, and the unique game viewing. For this reason, plus the fact there are good camps it is highly recommended for at least a part of any honeymoon in Kenya.

For more information on In Kenya Safaris go to http://www.in-kenyasafari.com/pages/Site-Map.html <bio>Peter Stewart writes exclusively for http://www.in-kenyasafari.com as well as http://www.worldwidevacationspots.com and has visited personally many of the places he reports on, and has done extensive research on the others </bio>

A Kenyan Safari to the Mount Kenya National Park and Reserve should be on your list of options when planning a safari if only because of its height, being the second highest mountain in Africa. Mount Kenya is 17,058 feet high and the National Park and Reserve has 1300 square kilometres of forest reserve with 715 square kilometres above the 10,500 ft tree line, where the entire mountain is National Park

This height means that what you are going to see a huge variety of spectacular scenery which makes the Park very special. There are lakes, tarns, glaciers, peaks, natural mineral springs, and the vegetation changes quite dramatically with the height from sea level. Add to this high altitude adapted plains game, and unique alpine vegetation with eleven species of endemic plants. The surroundings in the Mount Kenya Safari Park are truly breathtaking

You will find dry upland forest in the lower slopes, then after about 7000 ft this changes to montane forest of cedar and podo which then changes to thick bamboo at a little over 8000 ft, and then these die out as you climb higher, and you find smaller trees and high altitude mosses. After 10000ft you come onto high altitude heath and shrubs , and then finally above 11000 feet there is open moorland.

A Kenya safari is mostly about wildlife, and Mount Kenya national park has its fair share, again changing with altitude, and the season of the year. During the rains it is the dispersal area for Meru National Park especially elephant and buffalo. In fact electrified fencing has been put up near populated areas to keep the elephants off farmland.

The wildlife in the forest below the Park Boundary includes the aforementioned elephant and buffalo. To which can be added lion, several different species of antelope including the very rare bongo. If you are incredibly lucky you might see up to eleven species unique to this area above 2500 metres. There are the black leopard, black and white Colobus and Sykes monkeys, bushbuck, buffalo, elephant. Then lower down Olive baboon, waterbuck, black rhino, black fronted duikers, leopard, giant forest hog, genet cat, bushpig and hyena.. The very privileged few might even see albino zebra. Above the treeline you'll find high altitude zebra and eland.

The accommodation in the Mount Kenya National Park consists of one lodge, seven climber huts, and three self help banda sites , and three lodges and a self help banda site just outside the park.

To summarise the attractions of the Mount Kenya National Park and reserve.

There is excellent game viewing, fantastic scenery, with the lakes, tarns, glaciers, and high peaks. A number of rare birds and animals, and the high altitude plains game and the mountain forest. Added to this the natural mineral springs, and for a few intrepid souls mountain climbing itself, but this is not for the hill walker but more the skilled mountaineer.

If you are planning a memorable Kenyan Safari then a trip to the Mount Kenya National Park and Reserve promises to be a wonderful experience.

The Samburu Game Reserve should be in your itinerary when you plan an in Kenya Safari or any African Safari Holiday, because it is one of the less well known of the Kenya Game Reserves, and so less crowded, and in addition it has several species which are considered to be unique to the region.

Going on an in Kenya Safari should not necessarily be all about the 'big five', but also the chance of spotting animals such as Grevy's Zebra, Beisa Oryx, Reticulated Giraffe, Somali Ostrich, as well as Elephant, Lion and Cheetah.

Sadly there are no rhino in the park because of poaching, but there are over 350 species of bird which includes Kingfisher, Sunbird, Bee-eater, Marabou Stork, Bateleur, Palm-nut Vulture.

Last but not least the Usaso Nyiro River contains large numbers of Nile crocodiles, the second largest species of crocodile, who can grow up to 20ft. in length, weighing over1500lbs., and are known to snatch and devour a human

Samburu Game Reserve is situated north of Nairobi, is only 40 square miles in size, and is part of the Northern Frontier District. There re two entry points, the Buffalo Springs and Ngae Mare gates, and dominated by two mountains, the Koitogor and Ololokwe. There ia a river called the Uaso Nyiro or 'Brown Water' which flows through, coming from the Kenyan Highlands. The river is attraction for the animals, and the whole place is really quite peaceful beacause for many years it was difficult to get to, and there is a total absence of any industry.

In terms of vegetation there is a mixture of grass, thorn trees, riverne forest and acacia.

The lodges and camps in the Samburu Game reserve for the visitors includes, Bedouin Camp, Elephant Watch Camp, Larsen's Camp, Samburu Intrepids Club, Samburu Lodge, and Samburu Serena Lodge. A god choice for your in Kenya safari, as part of your African Safari Holiday is undoubtedly Samburu Game Reserve, a much less crowded place to go. <bio>Peter Stewart writes exclusively for http://www.in-kenyasafari.com as well as http://www.worldwidevacationspots.com and he has in depth knowledge of the places he writes about </bio>

Galdessa is a premier Kenya Camping Safari Destination, and is small and up market, being situated in Tsavo East which is Kenya's largest park. It is easily accessible by road from the east coast resorts, but is small with only eight tents or Bandas. Totally non trendy, Galdessa is geared for the family or couple with good taste who want an exclusive type experience on a Kenya Safari, and not mass market.

Galdessa sits above the Galana River, which continues to have a good water flow even in the dry season, and thus good game viewing and great wildlife sightings from the lounge and dining room which means not having to leave the camp when you are on a Kenya safari holiday.

The whole impression is one of laid back sophistication, and yet the guest feels in close and intimate contact with the Kenyan bush, and completely off the beaten track.

There are 11 comfortable and spacious tented bandas which are thatched, sitting on wooden platforms, with a wooden verandah, far enough apart and hidden by bushes and trees, so you don't really notice your neighbors. There is solar powered electricity, traditional bucket showers, flushing toilets and running water.

Of course the purpose of a Kenya camping safari is to see, and get close to the animals, and at Galdessa, there are two main activities.

The first is the traditional GameDrive, and the riverside location means the four wheel drive vehicles follw the river, giving opportunity to see lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffalos, and rhinos who al come to the permanent pools along the river. If the trip is an all day affair, then lunch will be taken at a lunch camp site, and is normally three courses with cold drinks. Bush breakfasts can also be arranged, as can Dinners.

The second thrust is a walking safari where you are always escorted by an armed ranger, and you have the chance to see, and get quite close to lions, cheetahs, giraffes, waterbucks, impalas, zebras, dik diks, crocodiles, hippos, and occasionally leopard.

When you return to Galdessa, after another incredible day in your Kenya Safari, you'll always be very happy with the high standard of cuisine, and the top flight service you will receive. You can sit out viewing the river, hearing the sounds of the African Bush and watching the animals coming to the water.

If you are intent on a Kenya Camping Safari, visit Galdessa <bio>Peter Stewart writes exclusively for http://www.in-kenyasafari.com as well as http://www.worldwidevacationspots.com and he has in depth knowledge of the places he writes about </bio>

Africa is the region that seems to offer rich collection of culture, resources, places of wonder and scenes of the circle of life. It is more impressive than anyone may ever dream. And as vast as it can get, no one can truly travel the whole of Africa in a month without missing hundreds of sights. One has to live in Africa to be able to see it all.

That being said and other things that can never be mentioned her or elsewhere, it is vital that you would not spoil your African safari adventure by not being comfortable along your journey. This is why, like with most other trips, we have to bring the essentials.

The basics off course are clothes, shoes and the likes. Second to it are the toiletries. The third (and the most important) are the binoculars! After all, what's the sense of going to Africa if you would not be able to witness the dance of life as closer as your advantage may allow?

Well, though we may place this gear at the bottom list, you surely would not want leaving them behind. Well, come to think of it, what more can you do but protect your head and half of your face from the scorching heat of the sun?

Wide brim hats were designed specifically to provide the maximum amount of sun protection without blocking your vision. Your long sleeves and long pants aside, safari hats can complement the functions as contributed by longer safari clothing. These restrict you from freer movement though.

When selecting for a safari hat, please pay attention to the width of the visor. It must atleast be 2 inches wide from the side that is nearest to the circumference of your head.

While we have this strong tendency to correlate safari hats with outback, it is good to note that it is actually a version of the Fedora hat. When in doubt, you may try flipping the back of the brim and you'll make a Fedora. In short, safari hats are just fedoras that have their brims turned down.

Since when did this fashion in safari hats occurred, no one truly knows. One theory suggests that when African safaris became a fad at one time in history, people have started bringing home photos of safari adventures that typically feature turned-down-brims safari hats. Later, manufacturers adopted this type of hat which became the normal fashion for all safari guests. <bio>This content is provided by Low Jeremy.
You have always had an interest in photography, and would like to add more exotic landscapes to your portfolio. As a result, you have made a list of places that you would like to photograph, and Africa is at the top of the list. You have decided that you would like to take a safari, so what you need are some tips as to how to take the best African Safari photos.

About African Safari Photos

If you have seen African safari photos, you know that you will need a special kind of camera to be able to capture those exotic animals up close. It is important to note that the camera you choose will need a particularly strong zoom lens. This is because the animals will not come close to the vehicle you are in, and because they might be easily startled by a flash.

Thus, with the flash preferably turned off, you are now ready to take your African safari photos. Begin by considering the time of day. The most impressive pictures are usually taken either at sunrise, sunset, or in direct sunlight.

Thus, if you are beginning your safari during sunrise, you can begin by taking a picture of the sunrise against a specific kind of backdrop. If you take an African safari photo of just the sunrise, that really could be a sunrise from anywhere. Thus, you need something in the picture that definitely reminds those who are looking at the picture that it was taken in Africa.

For example, if you are preparing to take an African safari photo of the sunrise and you happen to see a herd of giraffes walking by, be sure to take a picture. Or, you can ask your safari guides to pose for a picture against the backdrop of the sunrise. One more idea is to take a picture of particular buildings or signs that clearly indicate where you are.

When it comes to taking pictures of animals, your safari guides will most likely be sure to tell you about the necessary safety precautions to take. First of all, stay in the vehicle at all times, even if it is stopped. You might be able to ask the driver if you can take certain pictures at certain points outside of the vehicle.

Next, you should make sure that you are properly insured against any hazards. This includes your camera equipment. If you would like more information on the proper ways to take African safari photos, be sure to do some research on photography sites that have to do with that topic on the internet. You are sure to take beautiful pictures of your safari with the proper research. <bio>Ann Marier is a prolific writer. Nonetheless, since the earliest exploration of the African safaris and the inevitable bloom of the industry, safari became correlated with leisure travel amidst the wild. It may also be viewed as exploration of nature with the limit ascribing to the safaris alone.

At a glance, safari may present endless arrays of wild creatures, some only having their residence in the safaris while many can be found in other locations like the jungles or the forests. Some 500+ birds are found in the safari, not to mention the insects, bugs and the preys and predators.

Safari does not only have its focus on the wild. It mainly concerns culture and the interactions of people with the original settlers of the safaris- the lowly creatures.

With these ideas established we can now decide on what safari decoration to use. Let us give our focus on a room them.

The target room for which the safari decorations will be used must be themed primarily with woods or savanna concepts. The wallpapers or the wall paints can appear in shades of cream with touches of high grasses or visions of trees. It may also be that some display of safari activities is seen on the wall. However, be keen not to over-emphasize the decorations.

Now, on your furniture. Having a safari themed room would be more expensive than having it plain and conventional. Nonetheless, safari decorations are relatively more appreciated since they offer novelty and uniqueness. You may start with your wood furniture.

There are many resources where you may find concepts of safari furniture. One of which may be of tribal theme. But you may choose to have it simple with the use of plain wood home furnishings.

The key in safari decorations is to make every idea connected with the big picture. If you have wood furnishings then you might as well accessorize them with articles that you have bought from your recent safari trip. However, if you have nothing of these stuffs, you may choose to seek items from local home furnishing shops.

On top of these, add a touch of Africa with a painting that depicts the life found naturally in its realms. There are many concepts to choose from. Only, secure to it that all will merge as one big concept once you're done with decorating your room. <bio>This content is provided by Low Jeremy.
No Kenya Safari Tour would be complete without visiting a private wildlife sanctuary, and Sangar Ranch Tented Camp in the foothills of the Aberdare Mountains in Central Kenya could be the right answer when you are planning your Kenyan safari this year.

Sangare Tented Camp is located in a six thousand five hundred acre private ranch in the most magnificent of settings. It overlooks a lovely fresh water lake with Sangare Hill as a backdrop. There are spectacular views across the vast savannah, and this safari wilderness is home to elephants, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, leopards, warthogs, and many other animals.

Accommodation is in 12 very luxurious and spacious tents, furnished in rustic African style, including four poster beds, a private verandah and a lounge overlooking the lake. The tents have either two queen size beds or one King size bed In addition all ensuite facilities with a flush toilet and shower.

The tents are positioned to give the perfect view of the sunrise over the lake.

The main building which has a high thatched roof, has a lounge with a lovely fire place, a dining room, and a breakfast verandah. Drinks and snacks are available in the lounge throughout the day, and the food served is from local produce with all breads, pastries, and pies being home made.

There are a huge number of activities available to you at Sangare Ranch Tented Camp to ensure this part of your Kenya Safari Tour is unforgettable. There are things you will do here that you can't do anywhere else on a Kenya safari.

Apart from Game Drives, where you can do a Sangare Ranch day Game Drive, and a Night Drive. There is also the Aberdares National Park Game Drive where you will hopefully see rhinos in addition to the game mentioned earlier.

Something not to be missed although there is an additional charge is an excursion to Solio Ranch where you may well see the precious white rhino, cheetahs, black rhino amongst others. You can add to this the night game walk where hopefully you will see the leopard, or the bird walks with qualified naturalist who can explain about the 300 species of birds to be found around Sangare Lake. As if that wasn't enough on this part of your Kenya Safari Tour you can go trekking, and view some of the magnificent game on foot.

Mountain Peak Breakfast with a climb, and then views to die for, there are of course Bush Lunches, Sundowners, BBQ dinner at the famous and historic Mau Mau Caves. In terms of visits, there is the Flower Farm, the Tea Farm.

For the slightly more adventurous there is horseback riding, mountain biking, and boat riding on the lake, and then at the end of another exhausting fulfilling day you can watch the local traditional dancers and drummers around the bonfire.

Sangare Ranch Tented Camp which can be accessed by air from Nairobi in under thirty minutes, is a great choice for part of your Kenya Safari Tour, with great opportunities to be part of a safari wilderness in Laikipia. What a great Kenya Safari Holiday it will give you. <bio>Peter Stewart writes exclusively for http://www.in-kenyasafari.com as well as http://www.worldwidevacationspots.com and he has in depth knowledge of the places he writes about </bio>

We recommend you to bring one safari vest during your trip. And that's it.

Leave all your dressy clothes at home unless you are to attend a special function in Africa while on a trip.

The trick in safariing is to be as lightweight and functional as possible. Lightweight, due to the fact that you cannot (and must not) carry as much gears as you prefer while on the field. Despite from being too impractical, too many luggages would only cause you terrible mess and less ease of travel.

In the early years of African safaris, people are fond of taking with them unnecessary materials (a huge wooden chair for example) that are obviously unneeded. Well, travelers are far more comfortable with such form of practice since they have carriers to do the works for them. after all, most early safari guests came from the up society.

Yet, for the present, no one is truly certain that she can walk as comfortable while goofing around with extra (and unnecessary gears) while transferring from one vehicle to another or while crossing a remote trek.

Wearing safari vests, while treated more as a traditional part of all safari trips should be viewed as something practically important.

The rule of thumb is to apply casual comfort. Carry an average of 3 to 4 shirts for your entire trip and those must be pure cotton. On top of these, you need to have a safari jacket or safari vest.

A safari vest is vital for carrying with you small but essential gadgets such as a Swiss knife, extra films or a pocket size camera. In fact, anything will do so long as they fit in the pockets of your vest.

>From 8 to 10 pockets, it would be impossible that a safari vest would not hold enough of your stuffs.

You may place them in your backpack off course but accessibility makes everything less complicated.

Actually, because of this specific property of safari vests, they are also popular among photographers and other professions that require the use of extra pouches.

Safari vests typically appear in neutral shades, following the idea of not being too loud when on the trek.

This practice can also be observed for your long sleeves, shirts and other safari clothing. Not only do neutral shades lessen the possibility of attracting animals, these may also allow proper ventilation. They are not as heat absorbent as other darker colors and they somehow help heat bounce back away from your body. <bio>This content is provided by Low Jeremy.
There are endless ways to vacation in today's world. Air travel makes it possible to get almost anywhere in the world in thirty hours or less. The local park or the state right next door are no longer our only reasonable vacation options. We can go on huge cruise ships and explore the beauty of the seas or we can vacation in a cabin tucked away in the mountains. It is even possible and reasonable to go on an African safari for your next vacation.

I know, an African safari seems a little too exotic and certainly too expensive for a typical family trip. And you are right in that an African safari is not a typical way to spend a week or two as a family, but it certainly is becoming a more viable option as travel becomes easier and more reasonable.

Admit it. There is at least a little bit of you that has always desired to take an African safari, to explore some of the world's wildest and most unknown places. I believe that you should start to make plans for an African safari if only because you want to. Don't let yourself get stressed out with all of the details that seem unrealistic. Instead, allow yourself to commit to planning a trip simply because it is something that would make your life richer and more full.

There are many ways to start planning an African safari. You can always make a visit to your travel agent, if you have one, and allow them to help you begin making the dream of an African safari a reality. You can also utilize various travel and trip planning magazines that often give details and tips about how to go about planning and then enjoying great vacations like an African safari. And don't forget the incredible resource that you have in the internet. With a few hours of searching I'm confident that you can begin to make real progress on planning the trip of your dreams.

Consider taking your African safari with a group of friends or with members of your extended family. Turn your dream trip into something that you can enjoy with the people you love most. Many times there are group discount rates for just about every aspect of a trip: the airfare, the hotel, and even the African safari itself. So for this trip, the more the merrier.

If going on an African safari is something you dream about, why not make steps toward making the dream happen. Apply for a passport if you do not have one and begin setting aside money now even if your trip is still a few years away. Your African safari will be well worth all of the time and planning it takes to make it happen. <bio>Julee Mitchelsin has enjoyed one African safari so far and she hopes to enjoy it at least one more time. She advises people to do the planning it takes to make their dreams come true.
You have always loved the idea of visiting a faraway place and seeing exotic sights. You also have an interest in photography, so you think that your next vacation should be a South African safari tour. However, there are several things that you will need to plan first before you embark on your South African safari tour.

About South African Safari Tours

The first thing that you should consider is what South African safari tour you should go on. There are a variety of South African safari tours you can choose from. However, the two things that you need to consider the most are the price, and safety.

When it comes to the price, you will notice that the prices of South African safari tours tend to vary widely. This is because some are run by locals, while others are run by companies. Do not choose a tour simply because you think that the cheaper price is more reasonable. Sometimes the better tour is indeed more expensive.

Instead, do some research on the tour that you are thinking of taking. If it is reputable, a travel agency or an internet travel site should easily recognize it. Be sure that you gather reviews of the tour as well, so that you have a better idea of how reliable it is.

When it comes to safety, that is the most important thing to consider. Be sure that the tour you choose is led by a certified guide. Also, be sure that the tour is one that does not take you into areas that could be dangerous. There is an element of risk to any South African safari tour, but you should be sure that everyone is well-insured.

Another thing that you should consider is your own health, For example, if you have arthritis or a heart problem check with your doctor before you go on your tour. Also, there are some diseases that can be gotten, such as malaria. This is especially true since you will be out in the wild. Thus, be sure that you get the appropriate inoculations.

The next thing that you will need to consider is your camera equipment. Since you are taking this safari in order to take pictures, you should be sure that your camera is one that can withstand rough conditions.

For more information on South African safari tours, purchase a travel magazine that has to do with that topic. You should be able to find a variety of different contacts that can help you find the right tour. <bio>Ann Marier is a prolific writer.
Whatever you do, don't leave behind any essentials of an African safari tour...

And that is the first commandment.

The least thing you want to know once you get on board is that you have left a vital gear behind. Safari by nature, requires a number of essentials that are literally helpful while you are on your travel. On the other hand, you may need to drop some of non-essential things since they will only add up to your luggage weight. Remember, pleasure of the safari adventure is not measured by the number of useless gears that you have with you (which in the end makes you uncomfortable because of weight) but by the comfort of having gears that are truly needed while on trek.

One of the most indispensable is off course the safari clothes. You would want to be comfortable during your trip but never forget the protection. Long sleeves shirts are a must. They do not only cover you from harmful mosquito bites but may also cover your skin against exposure to sun. Along with these, you can also have some long pants with you to serve as protection during winter nights (if you are traveling during winter) and mosquito plague.

The number one rule of thumb with safari clothes is to make less exposure to animals as much as possible.

This can be done by avoiding bright colored clothes that attract animals. This is perhaps the reason why most safari clothes appear in colors such as light brown, khaki, light green and tan. White clothes and other colors are definitely shades that you must avoid. They may either refrain you from viewing animals closer or they may attract danger towards you. You can also have the advantage of keeping yourself cooler with neutral colors as they don't trap as much heat during the day.

Mobility must always be the top consideration. Don't bring with you more than 25 pounds worth luggage since you will travel a lot and will transfer from one small vehicle to another. Make it also a point that your safari clothes and gears are packed in waterproofed materials such as that of the duffel bags.

The majority of safari guides recommend only 2 to 3 days supply of clothing as there will be facilities for laundry in lodges and camps. However, if you are planning to stop over some African city restaurants, you may consider bringing one set of more dressy clothes. <bio>This content is provided by Low Jeremy.
A Kenya Safari Holiday is made complete not only by the wildlife seen but also the quality of the camps and lodges you choose. Tortilis Camp in Amboseli National Park is a Camp that you will love.

Situated under a thicket of umbrella shaped trees, and dominated by Mt. Kilimanjaro, there are only 17 very spacious tents, each with en-suite facilities, and a raised veranda, with tents 1 and 2 in particular having incredible views of Kilimanjaro first thing in the morning, weather permitting!

Tortilis Camp is a very well kept secret, and those who take a regular Kenya Safari Holiday, and visit Amboseli want to keep it that way.

The actual safaris, or game drives as we should call them, from Tortilis Camp are of the top quality, and many of the guests are only used to an African Luxuy Safari, so they expect top quality, and they get it at Tortilis. Very safe guides, who listen, and then care enough to make sure insofar as it is possible that you go to where the game you want to see is likely to be. That is what a proper Kenya Safari Holiday should be about.

No Kenya Safari Holiday would be any good without great staff in a great lodge, and Tortilis certainly has this in abundance, and when you add great food, and the previously mentioned accommodation then you just about have it all.

Please note if you are on your Kenya Safari Holiday with dietary requests, then the chef is very amenable!!

Tortili Camp has a swimming pool, which is big enough, very refreshing, and just the thing to while the hours away between early morning, and evening game drives. It is a good point that no self respecting lodge should be without a pool, because a Kenya Safari Holiday can't be all action, you also need relaxation!!

A bush breakfast and sundowners are an essential part of any luxury African safari, especiallya Kenya Safari Holiday, and when tey are organised by Tortilis, you get the best. Walking with a young Maasai warrior is about as good as it gets.

Finally, the vehicles. Any Kenya Safari Holiday is good, but limited if you share a minibus, and have to stand up to see the game. At Tortilis their open Land Rovers, with just your family, and not strangers, with a knowledgeable guide is as good as any Kenya Safari Holiday can get. <bio>Peter Stewart writes exclusively for http://www.in-kenyasafari.com as well as http://www.worldwidevacationspots.com and he has in depth knowledge of the places he writes about </bio>

A Masai Mara Safari Kenya is the first choice of many for their Kenya Safari Holiday, because it is renowned the world over for its exceptional game population, but mostly because of the immense annual migrationof the wildebeest every September and October.

The Masai Mara named for the Maasai tribespeople, and the river Mara which divide it. Situated in south west Kenya it is a continuation of the Serengeti national park in Tanzania.

The Masai Mara Game reserve is not the largest in Kenya for your in Kenya Safari, but it is certainly the best known. The whole park is within the Great Rift valley, and is the idea destination for a luxury african safari. Most of the wildlife is to be found in the swampy western border of the Masai Mara, and because this area is the furthest away from Nairobi, it is the open grasslands of the east that sees the greatest concentration of in Kenya safari tourists.

The Masai Mara is well known for lions, but all the othe members of the 'big five' are to be found here. The dominant inhabitant however is the wildebeest, and in July they migrate north to the Masai from Serengeti, and then go back outh again in October.

No Maai Mara Kenya Safari is complete without seeing this amazing migration of over a million wildebeest, and hundreds of thousands of Thmson's Gazelle and Zebra. Naturally your safari will also include the predators on the fringe of the great migration, the lions and hyenas.

A Masai Mara safari with luck will include the Masai giraffe, the large Roan antelope, and the sptted hyena, plus over 450 species of bird life.

Lodges and camps to stay at, inside the reserve must include, Mara Serena, Governor's Camp, Siana Springs tented camp, Mara Simba, Keekorok, and Sarova Mara.

Take a Masai Mara safari, you will not be disappointed. <bio>Peter Stewart writes exclusively for http://www.in-kenyasafari.com as well as http://www.worldwidevacationspots.com and he has in depth knowledge of the places he writes about. </bio>

With practically every industry, there is some form of groups that will help the working people coagulate for specific ideals necessary to keep the passion for the industry enkindled.

African safaris do not escape from such realities.

While many groups have risen since the trend in safari started (probably dating as far back as the early 1800's), one of the most enduring and considered to be more recent organization formed are the various safaris clubs.

Safari clubs uphold their own commitments, bylaws and principles that keep the organizations standing. One of the most revered of which is the Safari Club International, which now stands as the most famed international organization dealing with safari stuffs, issues, activities and the likes.

Because of the diversity of safari clubs, most are found obviously at African safaris, it would be hard to choose what organization to involve yourself into if you do not have any particular idea of what a club is.

Say for the Safari Club International, they uphold their commitment towards the collection of safari hunters that both bring home the heads of their kills or the skins. This organization is U.S. based that allows membership for trophy hunters only.

While many African safaris restrict hunting of the wilds, the Safari Club International assures to it that game areas are only those that were by law, appointed as proper hunting and game-viewing spots.

Since issues on hunting prevail among the hunters and the guardians of the wild, the Safari Club International maintains several philosophies so as to restrict conflicts from rising to the surface.

It is stated in the bylaws of the Safari Club International that while hunting is a primary motive members still need to have the: 1) accountability for preserving the wild, 2) the propagation of knowledge pertaining to preservation of the safaris 3) to render humanitarian services and 4) to use hunting as an efficient tool in the preservation of wildlife.

The above statements aside, the following are the purposes of the Safari Club International:

§ For protection of hunter's rights. § For the promotion of safe, ethical and legal aspects of sport hunting and other activities covering such. § To advocate the promotion of these ideals in any form, including holding legislative positions (both local and international). § For the facilitation of biological studies pertaining to wildlife. § For the distribution of information among the non-members in promoting animal protection . § For the education of the public with regards to sport hunting. § To conduct charitable functions. <bio>This content is provided by Low Jeremy.
The Swahili word "safari" originally meant "journey" which is further correlated to "hunting for survival" and "exploration of lands".

The safari is typically traveled by foot amidst the vast lands. This is of course deemed to be the best way of experiencing the circle of life in the safari since you can reach to the core of the natives and their unique cultures.

Walking trails are continuously maintained so that the explorers are guided along their courses better. However, visitors can always widen their safari options with many forms of travel available with each safari tour package. Other modes of transportation include hot air ballooning, fly-in safaris, driving safaris, canoeing safaris, horseback riding safaris, and elephant back riding safaris.

These do not only add ease on travel but may also allow access to the deeper domains (and often uncharted places) which contribute more thrills while on tour.

As for the categories, African safaris are normally offered in three basic types: permanent tented safaris, lodge safaris, and mobile safaris. There are also a couple of other safari choices customized depending on the traveler's needs. One good example is the honeymoon safari for newly-wed couples.

One complete safari tour that will take you from the Eastern region to the Southern parts lasts around 10 to 21 days. If you are planning to journey this long, it would be best if you avail from a local tour operator or a specialist so you are sure that you what you get is a complete safari adventure.

It is helpful if you have the knowledge of some of the practices, culture and etiquette to adopt well with the localities. As for your choice of safari package, consider the factors such as meals, accommodation, transportation, driver and guide service, excursions, itineraries and supplemental packages.

There are hundreds of conservation parks and wildlife sanctuaries that display the continuous interplay of the wild in its natural setting, marvelous places untouched by technology, and vast array of flora and fauna.

Life in the safari is more serene and offers more grounds for realizing how beautiful creation is. And all these are topped with the unique (and sometimes peculiar) cultures of different African tribes that mark the richness of their history.

African safari seems to remind us how the sixth day of creation looks like. They are the living remembrances of how the Creator intended things to be- the perfection, the diversity, the coexistence between man and his nature, and the life that surrounds everything. <bio>This content is provided by Low Jeremy.
Most couples when they are planning their honeymoons look to travel somewhere romantic. Many also look to go on a trip of a lifetime =96 somewhere where they would not normally get the chance to go. Going on a honeymoon safari can fulfill both of these desires, and send newlyweds on the romantic vacation of a lifetime.

Going on a honeymoon safari offers you the chance to experience a trip like no other. Many honeymoon safaris offer opportunities to spend the day on a secluded beach or take in a remote area where few get to go. While there are times when you will be with a guide (and, when you are experiencing African wildlife up-close, you will likely want to have a guide!), there are lots of times where you will be alone to enjoy each other's company with no one else around. The privacy that a honeymoon safari can offer is amazing. Companies that book honeymoon safaris boast about their abilities to book you private accommodations and excursions, and those who go on them rave about the individual attention they receive.

Going on a safari is more than just getting to see animals. Of course, you do get to see animals =96 getting to see African giraffes, elephants, zebras, and lions up close is often one of the highlights of a honeymoon safari. And part of a honeymoon safari is usually going on a traditional safari to view wildlife. Trekking through the Serengeti is a once in a lifetime experience. But a honeymoon safari can be so much more. Many trips offer adventures like white water rafting, hot air ballooning, and scuba diving. You can hike along the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro (or even hike to the top) or snorkel along the coast of Zanzibar. And you can take part in environmental efforts in the region as well.

Going on a honeymoon safari doesn't mean that you will have to give up the romance. Most packages include romantic dinners for two and secluded hotel accommodations. You also can be pampered with spa treatments for two or stay in a luxury chalet. Many companies offer you the opportunity to spend time on a private beach where newlyweds are completely alone. And if you prefer to be completely isolated with your new spouse, that is often an option as well. In fact, a honeymoon safari might be one of the most romantic trips in the world.

If you are a Brahmin parent looking for brahmin brides or grooms please check the url http://www.brahminsmatrimony.com <bio>James Gunaseelan writes for brahmins matrimonial portal http://www.BrahminsMatrimony.com </bio>

When people think of an African safari the images of the savannah with all of the animals comes to mind like something that looks like a show on the Discovery channel. In some ways it will look familiar to people, but there is so much more to see in real life that will change a person forever.

When booking a savannah safari and Africa in general, expect to see many of the savanna plains animals. Included in this group are elephants, giraffe, antelope, water buffalo, and many unique birds.

Other savannah safari and African wonders will include seeing the big cats including the lions and cheetahs. If the timing is right, people might catch the glimpse of a leopard. Other animals to see will include the hyenas and the little meerkats that people see on the TV. People can also look for certain reptiles that exist on the savannah.

One of the most dangerous animals in all of Africa can be found on a savannah safari and Africa. The Cape buffalo is very large and can be quite aggressive towards people. Because some of the animals to be seen on the savannah are dangerous, it is always best to listen to the safari guide. They live in and around the animals and understand all of the warning signs that the animals make.

Savannah Safari And Africa Vacation

When planning a savannah safari and Africa vacation, people should find out how physically demanding a safari is. Make sure to see a doctor before booking the trip in order to make sure that a person can handle it. Even if the savannah safari and Africa vacation will take place on sitting in a seat on a safari vehicle, the heat and dust and flies might make some people think twice.

Remember that watching a trip on the discovery channel is comfortable because of air conditioning and a bed or comfortable lounge chair and the lack of spitting dust and biting flies. If a person does have physical limitations they may want to look for a safari company which special handicap facilities.

There is nothing like the thrill that a person will experience while on savannah safari and Africa vacation. It will be something that will fill a persons thoughts for years to come. Africa will beckon ones mind with the experience of a prior trip and want a person to come back for more.

Even if someone has never been to Africa, just seeing it on TV makes people want to be there. Africa has so much to offer and everyone should try to see it first hand if at all possible. The people, the wildlife, and the ambience will fill the soul and renew the feeling of tranquility in a very busy world. <bio>Ann Marier is a prolific writer.
An African Safari Vacation must include Kenya. A Kenyan Safari should if possible include a few days in Amboseli Game Reserve, and one of the best places to stay is the Amboseli Porini Camp.

This part of your Arican Safari Vacation at Amboseli Porini Camp will in fact be spent in the Selenkay Conservation Area which is a fifteen thousand acre private game reserve just above the northern boundary of Amboseli National Park.

Selenkay is owned by Maasai people, and is an important dispersal area for wildlife as it moves in and out of Amboseli, and so there is much more and different game to be seen here than in Amboseli itself.

To have an idea of what it was like to take an African Safari Vacation back in the 1920's you need to firstly stay in a proper camp. What that means is tents in the bush with no fences, and very few guests as opposed to a fenced in lodge overlooking a water hole as happens too often.

Amboseli Porini Camp fulfils this objective and more, consisting of just nine spacious tents sitting amongst shady Acacia trees. There can therefore never be more than eighteen guests at any one time, so it is small and Porini is also exclusive.

It is also real old fashioned camping in the bush with no swimming pool, in fact nothing permanent at all, not even a bar or restaurant building. Of course there is food and drink in abundance, and it is all inclusive including beer and wines, but meals are taken under the shade of the trees, and there is a campfire to sit around and discuss the adventures of the day.

By the way Amboseli Porini Camp is staffed mostly by the local Maasai people. In addition the Selenkay Maasai receive an income from all tourism activities which is important to everyone

The only difference between the Amboseli Porini Camp of the 21st Century and the old fashioned bush camps is the bathrooms in the tents. The tents themselves are very spacious, and very comfortably furnished with a double and single beds, lit by solar power, and each has an ensuite bathroom with shower, wash basin and very importantly for guests used to modern comforts a flush toilet!! By the way the camp accepts children from the age of six, although perhaps this is a bit young to appreciate the wonders of an African Safari Vacation.

Too many people take an African Safari vacation, and they go to Kenya, and they even visit Amboseli, but sadly their experience is somewhat marred by the fact that they travel in Tour Operator's mini buses. No so at Amboseli Porini Camp where all game drives are taken in open sided four wheel drive vehicles, which make for great viewing. In addition because Selenkay is a private conservancy you won't be surrounded by other safari vehicles, your game viewing will be exclusive to you and your family.

You will see elephant in Selenkay because the population is growing, and undisturbed by mass tourism. The Selenkay Conservancy limits the number of people to eighteen per day thus keeping the wild and unspoilt nature of the place.

You can expect to see the following animals on this part of your African Safari Tour to Amboseli Porini Camp, and this is what makes it so worthwhile.

Elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, Thompson's and Grant's gazelles, gerenuk, impala, oryx, lesser kudu, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, warthog, striped hyena, jackal, bat-eared fox, caracal, African wild cat, serval cat, genet cat, honey badger, mongoose and ostrich.

For more information on Amboseli National Park go to http://www.in-kenyasafari.com/categories/Amboseli-National-Park/ <bio>Peter Stewart writes exclusively for http://www.in-kenyasafari.com as well as http://www.worldwidevacationspots.com and he has in depth knowledge of the places he writes about </bio>

It was originally built in a chestnut tree, and is now built on stilt supports overlooking a waterhole and saltlick very close to the elephant migration pathway to Mt. Kenya.

A quick tip, if you are arriving during the cooler months, pick up a blanket as you enter, because it gets cold at nights, bearing in mind the altitude.

On this part of your Kenya Safari Holiday most of your game viewing will be at night, and Treetops hs its own thousand watt artificial moon. Please note all hard soled footwear is banned, because of the need to keep noise levels down.

Treetops rooms are small, but they do overlook the waterhole, and they do not have ensuite facilities, they are shared on a single sex basis. Each room has a buzzer which will go off during the night, two buzzes means a special visitor, such as a lion, rhino or leopard.

Treetops is totally different angle on a Kenya Safari Holiday, and this is based on years of visitors agreeing this is an outstanding safari stopover.

The game viewing is unsurpassed from several observation lounges, including an underground closeup spot where you can virtually reach out and touch the animals, were it not for the safety screen.

You can view elephant, rhino, lions, sometimes all too real if a family of lions makes a meal out of an unsuspecting bushbuck.

Visit Treetops on your Kenya Safari Holiday in Aberdare National Park for an unforgettable safari experience. <bio>Peter Stewart writes exclusively for http://www.in-kenyasafari.com as well as http://www.worldwidevacationspots.com and he has in depth knowledge of the places he writes about. </bio>
