Historically, statistics have consistently shown that although the majority of people commit to healthier living for the New Year, only a handful keep their commitments above and beyond the 6 week mark. What does this tell us? I believe that it shows that we either set goals that are unrealistic or that we have yet to master the traits of keeping our word and being disciplined.

It is imperative to realize that your self-esteem and confidence are directly related to your ability to do what you say. Your inner power is equivalent to the power of your word. By consistently keeping your commitments (ie. doing what you say you are going to do) you prove to yourself and the universe that you can be trusted. As such, the more you say something and it occurs, the more you trust yourself because everything you say comes true in reality. For instance, how do you feel when you say you're going to do something, like work out 3 times this week, and then not do it? Pretty crappy right? I know I do. There is a saying that goes "How you do anything is how you do everything". If you find it hard to keep certain commitments in one area of your life I am willing to bet that this tendency will also present itself in other areas of your life.

So what is the solution to keeping your commitments?

First, NEVER commit to something that you are not going to do. Success breeds success, but if you keep setting yourself up for failure by committing to things that don't get done than success will only be an illusion for you.

Second, make your word law in the universe. Make a commitment to do what you say you are going to do. Your word should mean something to you because it definitely means something to others. What if someone told you that they would take care of a pressing matter for you and then didn't do so? Would you consider this person worthy of your trust? Probably not. Take the example of ancient warriors =96 they would die to keep their word because to them their word meant more than anything else. You too can become a warrior, a wellness warrior (without the death), by committing to living healthy and keeping your word.

Third, commit slowly and complete readily. Watch what you commit to by initially making small commitments and building on them. For example, you declare that "each morning I will meditate for 5 minutes before breakfast." By completing this morning meditation and doing the same with other commitments pretty soon whenever you declare something it will be as good as done because of the experience you now have of doing everything you say. This is very powerful. Remember, you commit to something as soon as you declare it vocally or through writing. Your word is put out into the universe. Will you uphold it? I know you will!

Wellness is about balance, being true to yourself, and being whole. To be whole and truly satisfied in life you must begin to trust yourself. So keep your word. Teach yourself, and others, that you can be trusted. Make realistic commitments and stick to them. You will feel better about yourself and you will achieve your goals in no time. <bio>Yuri Elkaim is a Certified Kinesiologist, Registered Holistic Nutritionist, former Professional Soccer Player, and regarded by many as Canada's leading health and fitness expert.
Have you ever added a new project and found that you had actually taken on one thing too many? Have you ever found yourself being a "human doing" rather than a human being? Do you live with your schedule crammed with activity from early in the morning until late in the evening? Are you driven by commitments and can't figure out a way to get out from under some of them? Consider that it's OK to put some things on the "back burner".

What's this mean and how do you do it? Putting things on the back burner means to deliberately and consciously choose some actions and activities to de-emphasize so that you can focus on the most important items. You will choose some items to stop taking action on now. In effect, you will be creating a timeline for projects, where some items will be handled in the future, and "put to bed" until that future time.

You might say, "But they are all equally important!" or, "There's nothing I can de-emphasize!" Here's some questions you can use to select things that could go to the back burner.

- Is there any area where you have interest, but due to other commitments, you've done no follow through in this area in a long time or never?

- Is there any area where you are collecting massive unread material that causes you pain, guilt and distress when it comes to your attention?

- Is there any area you have commitments to because you believe you "should" do something?

- Is there any area where you are afraid to let go for fear of "falling behind" while holding on to this is causing you to fall behind in really important areas?

- Is there any area where you feel only overwhelm when you consider it?

- Is there an area where you're doing something so someone else will like you?

- Is there an area where you're doing something to please others?

- Is there any area where you are simply "going through the motions"?

- Is there any area where you simply feel dread when you think of it.

Consider moving these items to the back burner. The important thing to remember about this concept is that items on the back burner become inactive. They are not completely taken off your list of actions. You simply don't spend time on them NOW. They can be reactivated at some future time....or not, at your choice. After a period of deactivation, you will find yourself ready to totally decommit from some activities. Other activities you may choose to reactivate at a future time, perhaps with smaller time commitments.

Realize that you have the right to choose which activities receive your focus. In a way, you actually have a duty to yourself to do so. Doing so will allow you to spend your time on those things that mean the most to you, and contribute the most to a satisfying life. It's a form of respect for yourself to know when, and to decide how you will move things to the back burner.<bio>Suzi Elton is a success coach working with "difference makers" who are ready to effect positive change by living their highest life purpose.
Time management is a big concern for a lot of people. I keep hearing, "There are just not enough hours in the day..." or "Where does my time go?" Face it we all live busy lives. Work, family, and other commitments keep us all hopping. To utilize better time management, it's important to recognize what the specific problems are. Is it not having enough time for you or your family? Do you feel that you are wasting time by excessive driving? Maybe you are not sure where all your time is going and just want to account for it. Or you could have a full schedule that you are having a hard time keeping up with. Whatever the reason, time is a precious resource that most of us need to use to its fullest.

The most important step in time management is evaluating our schedules. On a sheet of paper write up a "typical" week for you, by looking at your current schedule you will be able to identify places where better time management could be use. Ask yourself why you are feeling unsatisfied with your schedule? Make a list of what you want to change and what you want to make room for. Do you want more time to peruse interests? More time to be with your children? Or just more time to get everything done?

After you have done this take a piece of paper and draw three columns. In the first column put a list of all appointments, events, or commitments that are "set in stone", things that take place at a set time and happen daily, weekly or monthly. Such as work, club meetings, or standing doctor's appointments. In the second column put "flexible" tasks or commitments that can be done around your "set in stone" commitments, such as grocery shopping, house cleaning, or having lunch with a friend. In the third column put those "occasional" appointments, doctor appointments, a school play, or an old friend coming into town (or anything that does not fall into the other two columns).

Then using a calendar (preferably one with large spaces for the days) Or use a notebook and label each page a day or two (depending on how much you are trying to accomplish daily or weekly.) Start putting in the items from your three columns, starting with the items that are "set in stone" then the items that are occasional, leave the "flexible" items to last since you are able to put them in around the other things.

The objective is to balance out your days and to maximize your time. Why make a separate trip to the pharmacy when it is on your way to your son's soccer practice? I always try to plan appointments in the same area on the same day, this reduces my travel time and gets the most out of my day.

The biggest thing to consider is: Are you doing too much? No matter how well time is managed there is such a thing as an overload of commitments. Time management is not just about structuring your week so that you can get everything accomplished. It is about creating a manageable schedule that will give you time for the important things in life. So, before looking at your time management skills look at what you are trying to juggle.

Include things that you want to do but just don't seem to have time for in your day. What is the sense of managing your time better just to fit in more work? A part of time management is balancing so that you can have time to enjoy the fun stuff in life too.

If you are so booked solid that you can not schedule an hour and a half of quality family time, an hour of time with your significant other, and at least at the very minimum 30 minutes -- 45 minutes of time for yourself then you have too much on your plate and it is time to ask for help to relieve yourself of some commitments. Being run down and worn-out will not assist you in better time management, in fact it will hinder it. <bio>Tonya Ramsey is a writer, speaker, life coach, and owner of Life By Design (http://lifebydesignsite.com).
Life Insurance -- a Small Price to Pay for Peace of Mind

We all reach the stage in life when we wonder whether we need life insurance or not. This isn't a great decision for any of us -- nobody likes to be reminded of their own mortality, after all! But, it's a decision that comes to us all at some time or other -- especially if we have a family to consider.

To be honest it's worth while looking at taking out life insurance at virtually any stage of your life -- especially as we reach adulthood and start to amass mortgages and other financial commitments. The fact is that it doesn't really matter if we have a family to care for or not -- if we have any kind of current financial commitments then we need to think about what would happen to them if we were to die out of the blue. And, you have to remember that it doesn't matter how healthy you think you are -- you could die in a car accident or get run over by a bus tomorrow!

The thing you have to consider here is what would happen to your financial commitments if you were to die unexpectedly. A lot of people don't realise that the money they owe on stuff like loans and mortgages doesn't necessarily pay for itself after their death -- somebody will have to take responsibility for its repayment. And, in the simplest of terms you have to think about who would pay for your funeral at the end of the day.

Life insurance may be worth thinking about at this stage -- it is essential, however, if you have a family to add to the equation. If you have a partner and/or kids then think about how they would cope financially if you did die and your salary died with you. This isn't just about managing stuff like the mortgage -- it's also all about working out how they would pay for life's necessities never mind life's luxuries. If you protect them with a life insurance policy then they could at least cope financially during what would be a very difficult time for them.

The key thing to remember with life insurance is that it doesn't have to cost the earth. Life insurance policies nowadays can be taken out at minimal cost -- you really could be paying just a couple of pounds a week to get the right levels of protection. To make things easier most industry experts recommend that you shop around for the best quote as the sector is extremely competitive at the moment. This is easily done -- there are loads of web sites out there that can help you sift through competitive quotes so you can find the cheapest policies in just a matter of minutes, for example. This is a great way of getting the life insurance cover you need without spending too much time or money in the process. <bio>Micheal Reese has been in the Life Insurance http://www.uk-life-insurance-finder.co.uk industry for 10 yrs. </bio>

Life insurance should be considered essential if you have a family and commitments, especially if you are the main provider. If you are the main provider and you should die then your family would not only have to cope with their grief, but also have to struggle to meet financial commitments with the loss of income. While life insurance is an added outgoing it can be worthwhile and if you go to a broker they will be able to find you the cheapest life insurance policy suitable for your needs.

Typically, he cheapest life insurance is what is called term life insurance. Term life insurance is taken out solely to pay out a lump sum of money should you die. This can be invaluable to your family and gives you the peace of mind that at least they wont be left struggling to make ends meet financially. It doesn't however pay out cash unless you die, but it is the cheapest and easiest to understand of all insurance policies. An online broker will be able to get you the cheapest and most comprehensive cover for a policy of this type.

Of course when taking out any form of life insurance you will need to know how much insurance you need, generally the amount that you should cover yourself for is around 6 times that of your annual income, or it should be enough to pay off your mortgage, plus a bit more. You should also take into account inflation and the needs of any children and they are growing. For example, if they wish to go to college or university then extra could be put aside to allow for this. Once your broker knows the figure to work from then he can look around on your behalf and find the cheapest life insurance that is most suited to your particular needs.

While going with a broker for your policy will ensure you always get the best deal you should also be aware of what the policy covers you for and what the exclusions are within it, again a broker can give advice on this. <bio>David Thomson is Chief Executive of BestDealInsurance (http://www.bestdealinsurance.co.uk) an independent specialist broker dedicated to providing their clients with the best deal on their home, motor and life insurance. </bio>

If you are looking for the perfect career for you but are unsure of where to look or what to look for, then don't go any further without doing a career search. A career search is a great way to learn about potential careers without making any commitments or signing any contracts first.

The basic idea of a career search is two-fold. The first main purpose of doing a career search is to learn about all the possible careers that are available to be had as great professions. For example, you may know that some people make a great career out of being a chef, but have you ever considered being a chef that gets to travel the world and cook on cruise ships? Or maybe you have considered nannying as a career choice for you. With a career search you may learn that you can be a nanny in another country and make just as much money if not more.

The possibilities for making money and for enjoying your career are nearly endless. Do not let yourself get sucked into a job you hate simply because you haven't taken the time to find a career that is right for you. As a career counselor, I meet with far too many people each week that are stuck doing jobs they hate simply to pay the bills because they didn't know that other careers were really possible. So take my advice and do a career search before you make any other job commitments. You just may be missing out on a career you could love.

A second main purpose of doing a career search is to learn more about yourself. You may not even have a good idea of what kinds of careers would fit your personality and skills until you do a career search to learn more about yourself. Take time to do some of the personality and skill tests that accompany career searches and see what is right for you. If you are going to spend the majority of your life working, as most people do, than why not take your time and through a career search learn what is truly the best career for you.

Having a career you love is one of the most rewarding things in life. Doing a career search can be one of the easiest ways to discover what careers will bring you the best rewards. <bio>Triston Huntsmin is a professional career counselor that encourages all potential-workers to do a career search before making a long term choice about careers.
When it comes to life insurance it can be very confusing, there are many different terms which describes life insurance and unless you are an expert in such matters they can sound like a foreign language. When it comes to getting the cheapest life insurance quotes then going with a specialist broker is your best option.

The basics of life insurance are relatively simple; you take out cover in case you should die and this will ensure your loved ones are financially secure and can carry on paying the monthly commitments and you leave enough to take care of your family. However there is so much more to life insurance than just this, so it is imperative that you fully understand all the different life insurance policies on offer. The main types are term life and whole life insurance.

The cheapest and simplest of all life insurance is the term life policy. If you take out term life insurance then you take it just to cover the fact that if you die your dependants get paid out, as opposed to taking insurance that will pay if you should die or pay out after a set period of time. This type of policy will only pay out an agreed lump sum of money if you die which means that those you leave behind wouldn't be left struggling and having financial difficulties to deal with.

One big factor that you have to take into account when taking out life insurance is how much to insure yourself for. As a general rule of thumb you should aim to cover your life for around 4 to 6 times the amount of your annual salary, or enough to pay off your mortgage. So the easiest way to decide this is to take the amount you have coming in each year and multiply it by 6, or see how much you have left on your mortgage. This will give your family enough to deal with financial commitments for some time. Of course you need to take into consideration the rate of inflation and if you have children make sure they would be covered if they are thinking about going into higher education.

A broker will be able to get you the cheapest life insurance quotes while giving you excellent advice on the different types of cover available and what might be the best for your circumstances. <bio>David Thomson is Chief Executive of BestDealInsurance (http://www.bestdealinsurance.co.uk) an independent specialist broker dedicated to providing their clients with the best deal on their home, motor and life insurance. </bio>

One of the things that drives me the craziest about people who are decorating their new homes is seeing them rush into many decisions and then regret them soon after. As an interior designer, that is the worst thing I see. It might be surprising that one of the biggest things I have to tell people is to relax, slow down and enjoy the process of gathering decorating ideas before they commit to anything.

I think part of why people are in a rush to decorate their new homes is because our culture is all about rushing and getting things done quickly. So few people like to enjoy the process and really make intentional decisions about their home. I think that having a home is one of life's best gifts, and therefore I love seeing people take that gift seriously and make the most of the opportunities they have.

When you realize what a privilege it is to have a space to call your own then I think you will value the decorating process even more. I think only as you see the value of the home will you value taking time to gather decorating ideas. By gathering decorating ideas keep in mind that I am not suggesting that you take six months or a year to gather an endless amount of ideas that you will never use. I do, however, mean that you should take a few weeks and really look at your options before making any big commitments.

One of the all-time best places to look for decorating ideas is in magazines that are focused on home decorating. Order a subscription to a couple of good ones or borrow some magazines from a friend. Just get yourself into them and start looking at what is popular right now and what catches your eye. You will quickly learn that the things that catch your eye have a pattern to them and you'll be off and running to creating your personal style in no time.

While it is wise to ask for opinions and suggestions from decorators, friends and family, ultimately you have to choose what kind of decorating ideas to incorporate into your own home. So be cautious about letting others influence you too much. Don't be afraid to try something unique or to go out on a limb with a decorating idea. The best place to experiment is within your own home. <bio>Hallidae Thomason is an interior decorator that loves to help people gather great decorating ideas before they make any huge commitments.
As the MD of a recruitment agency for all kinds of online marketing and online travel jobs, I know how stressful interviews can be for a candidate. Whenever you travel to a job interview, it is only natural that on the way you'll try and think about every possible question that you might be asked and try and devise an answer to them. But there a few that you can cross off the list, as there are some interview questions that potential employers simply aren't allowed to ask...

How old are you?

It may seem like a very innocuous interview question, but due to the new age discrimination laws, it is now illegal to ask a candidate how old they are. It isn't just older people who complain about age discrimination -- many younger candidates claim they are discriminated because they are too young, with employers assuming that they will not have the experience or maturity for the position.

An exception to this rule is when a candidate's age is classed as a "genuine occupational qualification". This applies in the army and the police, for example, which have minimum ages for employment. Of course, that doesn't apply to my candidates who are looking for online marketing jobs, and it probably won't apply to most jobs that you are likely to apply for -- if someone asks you for your age (this includes date of birth questions on application forms) they are straying into dangerous territory.

Are you married?

This might come across as an ice breaker, and sometimes it is -- but for many employers this isn't a casual interview question. Some employers prefer single employees, regarding them as being more committed to their careers, unlikely to become bogged down in family commitments, and more willing to do overtime or long distance travel for a job. Other employers prefer married employees who may be steadier and more reliable. Either way, you don't have to answer this question in an interview.

Do you intend to start a family in the near future?

This is a big no-no in an interview situation. For obvious reasons, some employers aren't keen on their employees having children, with resultant issues of outside commitments, maternity/paternity leave and flexible working requests. An employer can ask if for any reason you may have any difficulties with certain aspects of the job; travel abroad, being away from home for extended periods of time, doing large portions of overtime where necessary and so on, but they cannot ask direct questions about family circumstances.

Are you a member of a trade union?

Employers aren't allowed to ask about your outside associations in an interview, such as your membership of trade unions. These associations don't have any bearing on your capacity to do the job, and could be used to discriminate against you. This extends to political and religious organisations as well, so if any questions crop up concerning your political or religious commitments these topics are very much out of bounds.

Are you gay?

Discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation is illegal, and it is difficult to think of an acceptable reason why a potential employer would need to know this information. In addition to questions about sexual orientation, most questions about your personal life are illegal -- for example, asking someone if they drink heavily as a form of recreation.

If you are faced with one of these interview questions, it is best to remember that in all likelihood your interviewer doesn't realise that they are doing something wrong. Directly confronting them and embarrassing them is unlikely to secure the position. You have the choice of politely asking the interviewer why the question is relevant to the position (giving them the chance to rephrase the question), or you can try and answer the question indirectly. For instance, if someone asks about marital or family commitments, you could use it as an opportunity to state your strong commitment to your work and your willingness to work long hours (that is, if you really want the position!) But make sure you know your rights, and always remember the interview questions that your potential employer cannot ask you.<bio>Gail Kenny is the managing director of Puregenie, an online travel jobs website.
Few things are as tragic or traumatic as a divorce--especially for any school-aged children who may be involved. It is almost a given that despite the best intentions of the parents to keep everything civil, children will still generally choose sides and ultimately decide who they believe caused the divorce. For this parent, reconciliation can seem like an unending nightmare. In many cases, the scars caused by a divorce will linger on in a family for generations to come. While many families choose the "let's not talk about the divorce" strategy, few children can accept such a closed-minded answer.

Few divorces begin mutually. There is usually one spouse who files for divorce first and ends up hurting the feelings of the other in the process. It is common for children to identify with the parent who was served papers, especially if they are perceived as an innocent victim or at least as the parent who was trying to make the marriage work. Many children will blame the parent who filed for divorce even when it was actually the better thing to do--for all involved.

It is also common for the children of a divorce to have more sympathy and respect for the parent who has primary custody. This parent is generally perceived as the one who must work a job PLUS take care of the children while the other parent only has to send a check and maybe spend some time with them on the weekends. If deliberate steps are not immediately taken to establish a relationship with the children after the divorce has been finalized.

The primary problem is one of trust. The child often feels betrayed by the parent who, in their mind, caused the family to split up. The only way to reestablish this trust is to make sure to be completely honest when they ask questions and to make sure that all commitments are honored--in other words, the child now wants, or rather expects, the offending parent to now treat them with the respect that they did not receive prior to the divorce.

A divorce does not always have to have a good and a bad parent. It is possible that the family can survive a divorce without completely breaking apart at the seams. When children are involved, it is important to reestablish trust with them by being completely honest and fulfilling all commitments made to them. Only by treating children with respect and giving them a voice in family affairs will there still be a family after a divorce. <bio>Jesse Taylor helps you and your family locate the best and most up to date information about http://www.SocietyInGeneral.com.
Debt consolidation is a self-explanatory term; you take all your debts and consolidate it into one easy to manage payment. This allows you to be more organized and not miss any payments because they are too hard to keep track of.

Harassing creditors are one of the reasons that debt consolidation services were set up in the first place. For a nominal fee they will act as your representative with your creditors and negotiate with them on your behalf.

How does a debt consolidation service work? It helps you to manage your debts. They do not eliminate your debts for you, but the do help you to get organized and develop a workable budget. They will also help you by contacting your creditors for you and setting up a payment plan that you can afford, and by sometimes negotiating a lower interest rate for you.

This benefits you by giving you the peace of mind that your monthly commitments are being met and that your bills are being paid. It benefits your creditors by assuring them that they will be getting regular payments from you and that you are taking responsibility for your debts. Creditors do realize that occasionally people have trouble meeting their monthly commitments and they know that they are much better off receiving reduced payments from you than if they were receiving no payments at all.

Creditors are mostly interested in being repaid, and working with your debt consolidation service will help them to achieve their goal. Their other option is to not accept the service and run the risk of not getting any of their money back from you.

In this way it benefits both parties =96 you as the debtor and them as the creditors. This is a win-win situation for all parties. Taking control of your financial situation and using the services of a debt consolidation agency will help you to cut your monthly repayments, can reduce or even eliminate interest rates, allows you to re-establish your credit rating and prevents you from being charged with late fees and over-limit fees on your account.

Using a debt consolidation agency is a great way to make sure that your credit rating is not negatively affected by your inability to pay your bills on time. You can lower your payments and still keep all your accounts current. This helps to show your creditors that you are doing all you can to pay off your debts. <bio>George Davidsberg is publishing first and foremost for http://www.creditenio.com , a web page on the topic of credit consolidation and debt loans.
A mortgage calculator is there to help you. It isn't a substitute for a human being, but it can provide some of the basic information you need.

Actually, however, the term "mortgage calculator" isn't as simple as it sounds. There is a wide variety of calculators designed for a variety of needs. Whatever question you have about a mortgage, or your financial situation in relation to a mortgage, there is a good chance there will be a mortgage calculator to help you.

So what questions might a mortgage calculator be able to answer for you?

• I've seen a house I like -- can I afford it? The calculator tells you to put in the price of the house and the required deposit. It will tell you the amount you have to borrow at a selected rate -- e.g. the current base rate or the rate on offer -- in order to buy the house.

• What is the maximum amount I can borrow for a mortgage? This is a simple calculator based on your income to give you a basic idea of what you can afford, in order to give you guidance as to what price-bracket you should be looking in. But don't forget there's no guarantee that a lender would actually give you that amount -- they take other things into consideration such as your credit rating and your other commitments. (A few calculators actually enable you to enter your commitments and regular outgoings as well.)

• How much would I have to pay out a month on this loan? The calculator enables you to put in the amount you want to borrow, over how long and at what interest rate. It the gives you the monthly payments for an interest-only or a repayment mortgage.

• What would be the effect of a rate change on my repayments? With this calculator you can work out how much more or less a month you would pay in the event of a rate change. You enter the details of your mortgage -- amount, rate, term etc. -- and then click on increased rate or reduced rate.

• Would it be worth my while to take advantage or this good remortgage deal, given the amount of the redemption fee? This can be very helpful. Sometimes you are tempted to remortgage at a good rate but are uncertain whether the redemption fee would cancel out most of your savings. The calculator works out the maximum interest rate you would need to be paying in order to make a switch worthwhile.

These are just some of the mortgage questions a mortgage calculator may be able to help you with. As you see, most of them are very simple. They give you an indication of the direction you should take, but can't take into consideration all the factors involved in the costs of a mortgage. Everybody's situation is unique. If you are in any doubt, talk to a whole of market mortgage broker who can look at the complete picture.<bio>Sean Horton is a Director of Enhanced Wealth who offer an online mortgage calculator</bio>

Gardening can be either a cost effective or a costly affair depending on how you manage and plan your resources for maintenance of a good garden.

Most people just plant a few flower plants in their lawn as they don't want to leave it vacant. They don't take care of it or have no interest in developing it. They don't even water their plants regularly. But people who maintain their gardens seriously will know that they will have to monitor the condition of their garden regularly in order to minimize the long-term expenditure over its maintenance. After all, having a beautiful garden in front of the house can be really helped in increasing the asset value of the house also.

For a garden to retain its beauty and charm, it requires a certain work input from your side also. So you should consider spending some time in your garden at least once every 2 months as it will help you in restoring the garden to its original beauty. Most people believe that spending time in the garden everyday is only possible for people with no other commitments. Even this cannot be said to be wrong keeping in mind today's work commitments.

However, doing your garden work on your own is much cheaper than hiring a qualified horticulturist to do the job for you. Addition tasks such as fertilizing and mowing can further increase the costs. Instead of going to individual horticulturists, if you go to a larger company which undertakes all kinds of gardening tasks, you can minimize your costs. These companies pick operators based on their qualifications and skills and train them in various practices of horticulture, so that they in turn can pass on their services to persons to require professional help.

An individual who does not want to incur excessive expenditure on his garden can do himself a lot of good by planning in advance what type of plants he wants to plant and avoiding excessive maintenance. The garden should be kept simple. Tall tress must be certainly avoided if the space available is less as this can cramp the other plants in your garden for room. Choose your plants depending on the surrounding of your home and avoid buying plants just because they look good. <bio>Cathy Peterson writes about http://www.flowergardennursery.com/Coupons/Gardener's%20Supply%20Company.html, http://www.flowergardennursery.com/Coupons/BloomingBulb.com.html and http://www.flowergardennursery.com </bio>

If there is one thing that men fear, much like his fear of castigation, that boggles the minds of both men and women alive, that would be man's fear of commitments. A typical scenario would be the something perhaps nine out of every ten women have gone through. Girl meets boy, girl likes boy and vice-versa. They go out on dates, boy takes her to the dance, they stare at each other starry-eyed, and girl comes clean by saying "I love you." Boy doesn't know what to do, boy stays away, they never see each other again.

Pretty scary story, huh? Some women have seen it happen time and again that it doesn't scare them anymore.

Men, or at least the emotionally unavailable ones, are afraid of commitment. These men view commitments as something they only do when they "really like" a woman. So they're afraid to take the next step, to level up, or to open the next box. Thing is, relationships become tough for women because men are usually satisfied with steady, non-committal relationships, and they almost never show it.

So when women try to say and explain her feelings to the guy, it only drives him away. They aren't comfy with the idea of taking another step further =96 maybe because they cant see anything in relevance or importance to them. The relationship slowly stagnates. The man doesn't take the step, and the woman doesn't do anything about it for fear of losing the "connection."

Time passes by, and they stop being sweet to each other. They become irritable to each other's actions. They start hating each other, they end up having petty fights. This happens in a course of months, and without noticing it, the people concerned just realizes that the relationship is already over.

As the woman's emotional tribulations grow worse, it's likely that she'll do things that'll only make the state of the relationship worse. This can happen in many ways =96 complaining about the relationship, showing her distaste in it, ranting about how he doesn't feel the same way =96 but all of these petty things still add up to the big fights that end relationships. Even if she thinks she has all the right in the world to get angry and throw emotions all over the place, men don't see this as legit. In fact, they think it's hysterical.

Unfair? Hardly =96 the fact that it happens all the time suggests that your case isn't isolated =96 it happens to nearly everyone. It's simply how the man's mind works.

The solution isn't easy, but nothing of great achievement comes easily anyway. The woman needs to be understanding, caring, and very patient. She needs to also know how he feels. It doesn't mean spoiling the guy =96 don't give him everything he wants. If a man gets everything he wants from the woman, think of just how long the relationship is going to last? Not very.

Women are extremely sensitive and intuitive creatures, a complete opposite to the insensitive and muscular man. If a woman knows how to use her so-called "strengths" it wouldn't be that hard to find out how men tick, or what he wants, or how to deal with them when they're angry or just not in the mood. If a woman succeeds in all these aspects, the "I love you's" will come naturally. <bio>Aaron Adams specializes in relationship matters for women.
If you've decided that you are ready to make some lifestyle choice good for you. Those changes should include changes in attitude, diet, and fitness. Sadly there are some fitness mistakes that are commonly made so make sure you don't make them.

Almost anyone who has attempted to diet or get into shape has dropped out at least one time. It can a number of reasons why failure occurs =96 lack of free time, social commitments, family commitments, diet or fitness programs that are to hard or not appropriate. Whatever the reason it is important to choose a fitness program that you are comfortable with so you stick with it.

Failure to plan ahead is a very common mistake. If you go to the gym and you don't have a specific target in mind you will fail. If you make you target unclear you won't know if you've reached it or not?

If you aren't sure of your ideal weight ask your doctor and that should be your goal. Or you can focus on the number of inches you want to loose around the middle, on you bottom or thighs. That's an excellent method.

Another common mistake is to come up with excuses to avoid going to the gym. Sure life and those never ending appointments or events get in the way, but that can be arranged with some more planning. Don't use it as an excuse to quit the program and make sure you don't get lazy. Too little too late and you will fail so don't work out too little. This may seem too obvious so not worth repeating but a lot of people lift two dumbbells a couple of times and they figure they're done for the day. Sit down at the table and come up with a sound training program that you can stick to.

You might be surprised to find out that too much fitness is also bad. Your muscles need time to recover from the work out, and then time to grow, and your body needs time to burn up the fat. The body doesn't just burn fat during exercises and the more muscles mass you have the faster the calories will burn because muscles needs energy all the time. If you over train you will make your muscles tired without any additional benefits.

Never compare yourself to others. Each of us is a unique individual with our own unique genetic make up which controls some of our weight gain, weight loss and even how our muscles respond to training. Don't rate your accomplishments according to the achievements of others; instead continue at your own pace and your own goals. If you try too hard you simply set yourself up to fail.

Don't do the same exercises over and over =96 mix it up or you will lose your motivation. Learn to form your routines and then replace them with new ones every four weeks. Try to find variations to a classic exercise to make things interesting for yourself.

And last of all think about how important your fitness program will be to your over all health. We aren't getting any younger and so let's take longevity to a new level. <bio>Get all the latest information about Fitness, from the only true source at http://www.1fitnessinformation.com.
In order to get the best policy for you needs when looking for mortgage protection cover, you do have to make a comparison of what each provider offers in their policy. For instance some payment protection providers will backdate your benefit to the first day of you being unemployed or of becoming incapacitated. Others will include more exclusions in the terms and conditions than others which have to be checked against your circumstances.

Mortgage payment protection is a valuable policy to have if you find that you are unable to work after becoming ill or if you suffer from an accident. It is also there for you in the eventuality that you should become redundant. However if you do not need a policy that would payout for accident, sickness and unemployment together you can tailor your policy. You could just take out protection against incapacity only or you could choose to take out cover for unemployment only.

The level of protection you choose, your age and the amount you insure against are all taken into account when applying for the cover. This means that providers who offer age based insurance allow even those who have taken on the responsibility of a huge mortgage the chance to be able to afford to protect their borrowing.

Mortgage protection cover can stop you from falling behind on your mortgage repayments and getting into arrears. Without a policy you would have to contact your lender if you were unable to meet the commitments of your mortgage and try to come to an agreement. However without a steady income to back you up and being unsure of when you would be back at work, coming to any agreement with the lender would be very unlikely. While mortgage lenders do not take repossession lightly, if they have no other choice they will take you to court. If you have a policy which you could claim on then you would not have to fear repossession as you would be able to continue paying the commitments of your mortgage.

All providers will ask that you wait for a certain length of time before they will provide you with the benefit. Some will set a period of unemployment or incapacity at just 30 days, others could define the waiting period at 90 days and then you are able to put in your claim. Providers will also payout for different lengths of time; some could provide you with a payment each month for a period of 12 months, while others might supply a policy for 24 months. You do need to compare this along with how much your cover would cost each month in premiums. Mortgage protection cover can be added into the mortgage at the time of borrowing. While this might seem like the easiest and cheapest way to take protection, often it is not. Never assume that because the lender gave you the best deal on the mortgage, with the lowest rates of interest, they will automatically provide you with the cheapest policy for covering the borrowing. Lenders on the high street accumulate profits of around £4 billion each year by attaching payment protection onto their loans. If you want to avoid being one of the many that contribute towards these profits, then get a quote from a standalone provider.<bio>Simon Burgess is Managing Director of the award-winning British Insurance, a specialist provider of mortgage protection cover.</bio>

Just as you might have thought, using a prepaid cell phone has two sides too. I started on the field of mobile technology with a prepaid cell phone first. Find out below, how I started and what I liked and disliked about prepaid cell phones below.

I was a big holdout before I finally broke down and got myself a cellular phone. I didn't honestly think it was that more convenient than using a land line and I certainly didn't want people to get a hold of me whenever they wanted to. I liked the little bit of anonymity I had and usually despised it when friends would get up from a nice dinner to answer their cell phones. It didn't benefit the matter that most of my friends were spending between twenty and forty dollars every month to cover their cell phone bills; the only way I could afford to pay that much for a phone was if I decided to stop eating for a month or two.

You'll note that the entire last paragraph was in past-tense since I did, in fact, buying a cell phone. It wasn't the standard pay-through-the-nose plan though; I got a prepaid cellular phone and managed to get practically all of the perks of cell phone usage without the gigantic fees or multi-year commitments. I picked up a Virgin prepaid cellular phone from Target and, with a special sale, got the phone for free.

Unlike most cellular phone plans which require multi-year commitments and tremendous fees for using too many minutes, prepaid cellular phones allow you to top up time in the same way that you add time to a phone card. Though the individual minutes are more expensive ($.25 for the first 10 minutes of every day and $.10 for every minute thereafter, no roaming and no time restrictions, text messages for $.10 apiece) if you're not using your cell phone very often you can end up saving a lot of money. I generally end up spending only $10 or so every month for my service, which is a lot better than what most of my pals are paying.

Regardless of the service provider, prepaid cellular phones do have their drawbacks. One of the best perks my friends with standard cellular plans have is that they typically get free nights and weekends, which I don't get with my prepaid phone. The phone isn't quite as good as the phones which normally come either for free or at steep discounts with the basic plans, though my phone was free, has a full color screen, and has full internet access, so I can't complain too much. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with my prepaid cellular phone, though I wouldn't suggest it to anyone who plans on spending a lot of time talking on his or her cell phone.

Before getting a prepaid cell phone or signing up for a plan with a service provider, spend some time figuring out what your needs and demands are, what you expect from your cell phone and the mobile service, and then, only then buy into the right solution. You will save yourself not only money but future headaches too. <bio>Neat Cell Phones - Read more news and reviews about cell phones, wireless technology, and find out shopping tips and tricks at http://neatcellphones.com </bio>

It's well-known that the credit crunch and rapidly rising costs of living are affecting spending power, as well as the ability to obtain credit -- but what about the other side of the coin? According to a new report from Scottish Widows, one in three UK citizens feel they can no longer afford to put aside any savings for the future.

The survey of 6,381 people, carried out by YouGov, also showed that half were not saving enough for a comfortable life after retirement.

Why are so many people 'unable' to save?

The report suggests that the credit crunch is encouraging more people to save rather than spend their money. But for those on lower salaries or with bigger commitments, it can actually limit people's ability to save. "Rising costs of living are a constant pressure on people's finances," says a spokesperson for debt management company Gregory Pennington, "and this means many people are left with very little once bills and other commitments have been paid."

The rising numbers of people in debt may also have an impact. "We're seeing increasing numbers of people struggling with debt, which automatically shifts priorities away from saving money," he says. "A few years of easy access to credit cards, loans, et cetera, are starting to take their toll."

But are we really unable to save?

The spokesperson for Gregory Pennington says that many people may underestimate their ability to save. "A lot of people are hesitant about saving these days, because they never know when their costs will go up and they might need the money.

"People often feel that once they've got their bills and other essentials out of the way, which are rising all the time, they are entitled to spend whatever's left.

"Rising costs of living are limiting what people are able to save, but the truth is that most people are able to save at least something -- and even a small amount each month is worthwhile." There are plenty of ways to cut costs without compromising lifestyle, he continues -- changing utility/telephone/broadband providers, for example -- and the money saved can be put aside for the future.

"Even a few minor compromises can make all the difference," he says. "Cycling to work instead of taking the car or bus, buying fewer CDs and DVDs, or only buying clothing when it's needed -- all of these can make a difference".

"Life would be no fun without these things, but it doesn't take a lot to save. Buying one less shirt a month, for example, could save you around £20 a month, which is a perfectly good amount to start out on.

"It doesn't sound a lot at the time, but over a year that's £240 plus interest. In a good savings account, that could really add up over the years," he says.

"There's a snowball effect with savings. The more you have in your account, the more you will get back in interest, so you could find your money growing faster than you think. We would recommend anyone to get saving as early as possible to give themselves the best possible start."<bio>Get more advice on saving, useful budgeting tips and debt help at GregoryPennington.com.</bio>

Are you finally ready to move on with your life? While it may sometimes feel like you are the only one in the world trying to change your plans, the average jobseeker actually changes careers seven times during his or her lifetime. That's good news because at least you know that other people have successfully made career changes.

So what are the options for successfully making the transition?

Option 1: This option is to stay at your current job while you carry out volunteer work to gain the appropriate work experience. You may have to do such work on weekends, during the evenings or from home by special arrangement. Most small businesses do welcome those who can do volunteer work.

Option 2: Another option is to move to the new company and field and continue doing your normal job role. In doing so, you can carry out work that you feel comfortable with while taking stock of the new environment. This will give you valuable exposure to the new job so that you can informally initiate and be proactive at assisting and helping out in any capacity within that job role.

Option 3: In some professions, it is impossible to successfully make the transition without first re-training. This often involves acquiring professional qualifications. Never dive into the first training option that comes your way but rather do thorough research to ensure that you end up selecting the very best option available to you.

Option 4: According to our research, many career changers have decided to forgo working only one job in favor of taking on multiple jobs. You may want to consider whether you want to be part of this growing trend and increase both the pay and flexibility of your lifestyle.

Working Through Your Options: Selecting an appropriate option or options boils down to what kind of career change you are after and the level of flexibility provided by that industry. It is critical, therefore, to research and weigh what option will best serve your purpose by realistically evaluating your personal, social and financial commitments. You may discover in the process that, for instance, the fastest option is not the best suited to you due to certain obligations; you may need to pace or stagger the transition. Be realistic and set sensible goals that will not frustrate your career change efforts.

The bottom line is this: no matter what your circumstances and commitments, you can achieve your career change goal. Just be patient: it may take a little bit longer than you may have anticipated.
