<content:encoded><![CDATA[ When we talk about <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/web+accessibility" rel="tag">web accessibility</a> we tend to mean accessibility for <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/people+with+disabilities" rel="tag">people with disabilities</a>. However, it is beneficial to look at site accessibility in broader terms. If your site is inaccessible to any particular group of people then you are losing out on potential visitors. For instance, while it's true that the majority of surfers use one or another incarnation of <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/internet+explorer" rel="tag">Internet Explorer</a> (IE), there is an increasingly large percentage of people using <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/mozilla+firefox" rel="tag">Mozilla Firefox</a> and other alternatives. These browsers deal with HTML and other languages in different ways. What may be accessible on IE may not be accessible on Firefox, and vice versa. <br /><br /> The Spread Of The Internet <br /><br /> The Internet has instilled itself into many of our lives. It is the world's largest resource where information is freely passed and distributed between millions of people. Research for individuals and businesses has become a streamlined process thanks to search engines, directories, and reference websites. Because of this interjection into our daily routine, we have come to rely more and more heavily on the Internet for an increasing number of purposes. As such, making your website accessible to as many people as possible is vital to its overall success. <br /><br /> Ensuring Accessibility Is Available <br /><br /> Fortunately, most browsers have the capability to change website settings. A simple click of the mouse and an arrow key can change text size, and software is available that turns ordinary textual content into audio content. But websites need to be optimized so that they are as easily accessible in all of these settings. Generally, this means following good design principles and meeting <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/accessibility+guidelines" rel="tag">accessibility guidelines</a>. These are just some of the more common examples: <br /><br /> Text Alternatives <br /><br /> Audio, video, and graphical content is not always accessible for your visitors. This can be true for visitors with disabilities as well as those with limited <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/browser+capability" rel="tag">browser capability</a>. The most common example of this is the image Alt tag. The contents of the Alt tag are displayed in browsers that do not have the capability to display the image. <br /><br /> Accessible Without CSS <br /><br /> CSS, or Cascading Style Sheets, have become popular because of the ease and flexibility they offer but they may not always be accessible. Ensure that a page renders and loads legibly without the accompanying CSS. Providing good, clean HTML has been used, this should be accomplished. <br /><br /> Keyboard Navigation <br /><br /> It should be possible to navigate around a page using just a keyboard, as well as using a mouse. Ensure that there are no traps on your page where the cursor or screen may become stuck when doing this. Some users prefer the use of the keyboard, while others may not have access to a mouse when viewing your page. <br /><br /> Provide An Alternative Page <br /><br /> There are many reasons why a page, or page element, may be inaccessible to a person, browser, or system. Providing an alternative for every eventuality is not always possible with more complex pages. In these cases, and when all else fails, provide an alternative version of the page that can be accessed by anybody. Typically, this means a text only version, or an HTML only version at the very least. <br /><br /> Web Accessibility For All <br /><br /> Web accessibility is taken seriously. No matter how small a demographic segment you may be missing, you are potentially missing out on visitors if your pages are in any way inaccessible. This will alienate possible visitors and also the people they communicate with on a regular basis. <bio>Omaro Ailoch is a senior software engineer, an entrepreneur and the founder of OC IT Services <a href="http://www.ocitservices.com" >http://www.ocitservices.com</a> a highly skilled California based web development, design, and search engine optimization firm </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ It is common mistake for <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/novice+web+designers" rel="tag">novice web designers</a> to create a website and only test the website at 1 screen resolution and in 1 web browser. The problem is, there are still some <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/internet+users" rel="tag">Internet users</a> that use 15" monitors, or use a browser which is different from <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/internet+explorer" rel="tag">Internet Explorer</a>. Thus, if you're not testing your website to ensure that it appears correctly at different <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/screen+resolutions" rel="tag">screen resolutions</a> and in different <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/web+browsers" rel="tag">web browsers</a>, you may be neglecting a small portion of your potential customers. Sure, maybe only 10% of your customers may not be able to view your website as you've planned, but constructing a website that is accessible to everyone is so easy that it would be a huge mistake to neglect that 10%. <br /><br /> Screen Resolutions <br /><br /> Screen resolution refers to the number of pixels that span a particular space. If you are running 1024 x 768 resolution, 1024 pixels can fit horizontally across the page. When <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/designing+a+website" rel="tag">designing a website</a>, it's not so much the number of vertical pixels that should concern you, but rather the number of horizontal pixels. You need to ensure that the user does not have to scroll to the right in order to view your whole web page. As a quick rule of thumb, I usually design my websites to span 768 pixels across. Yes, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/that+means+that" rel="tag">that means that</a> I would be neglecting those ancient computer users that use 600 x 480 resolution. But, by accommodating those users you would not be utilizing very much of the screen, and it wouldn't appeal to all your other users that make use of higher resolutions. Here are some statistics regarding screen resolutions for Internet users: <br /><br /> 800 x 600: 14% of Internet Users <br /><br /> 1024 X 768: 60% of Internet Users <br /><br /> 1280 x 1024: 26% of Internet Users <br /><br /> Another idea, as opposed to using absolute definitions for the screen width, you could also employ relative screen width. The problem with optimizing your website to be 768 pixels wide is that your website may look empty to those viewers using 1280 x 1024 resolution. To do this, just create a table with its width set to 100%. Your web page should adjust automatically to the user's screen width. Just remember not to add too much content in there or else the page will not adjust properly to users with lower resolutions. <br /><br /> Test Your Website <br /><br /> In order to ensure that your website will appear correctly you should view it using different screen resolutions on your own monitor. Here's how you can do this: <br /><br /> 1) Right click on the desktop and click "Properties" 2) Click on the "Settings" tab 3) Move the slider through all the different resolutions and hit "OK" 4) Open up your website and see if there is any scrolling required <br /><br /> Ensure Browser Compatibility <br /><br /> If you're coding your website with an editor, you should be aware that there may be slight differences in the website's appearance depending on the brand of browser you are using. Over 70% of Internet users surf the web with Internet Explorer, but you should check to make sure your site looks consistent in Firefox, Netscape, and Opera. Also, if you have access to a Mac, it would be a good idea to work through the different resolutions, and then you'd have most all your bases covered. <br /><br /> Usability And Accessibility <br /><br /> Website accessibility refers to the ease of use for all types of Internet users, regardless of the type or age of equipment and software they are using. When you start to consider accessibility over a flashy appearance that may only please some surfers, you should increase visitor satisfaction and in turn, increase your bottom line. If you just assume that everyone has a massive monitor and running high resolutions, you could be shutting out a good number of your potential customers. It's just smart business. <bio>Paul Coulter owns and operates a London Ontario Website Design Company. <a href="http://www.ekonline.com/" >http://www.ekonline.com/</a> </bio>]]></content:encoded>

One can search for criminal Federal <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/arrest+records" rel="tag">Arrest records</a> on the Internet rather than having to go through the courts themselves!. Sometimes, access to criminal records for the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/private+citizens" rel="tag">private citizens</a> and firms is free of charge. Over the past few years' <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/road+accidents" rel="tag">road accidents</a> have risen to an alarming level and the ones related to drunk driving are <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/becoming+increasingly+common" rel="tag">becoming increasingly common</a>. <br /><br /> There is no risk involved in the online accessibility of criminal Federal Arrest records. Criminal Federal Arrest records are indexed by name. So in order to get accurate results you should obtain the exact spelling of the name. The person or <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/company+that+wants" rel="tag">company that wants</a> to have the criminal record check need not spend any amount of money for having the record checked. The criminal Federal Arrest records includes the first and last name of the fugitive accompanied by a photo. <br /><br /> Many effective strategies have implemented by the state in order to prevent DUI accidents. Government agencies and court systems sometimes limit accessibility of the information they have posted online or offline to reduce the risks involved in the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/public+accessibility" rel="tag">public accessibility</a> of the criminal records. Civil cases are resolved by individuals and usually do not involve incarceration. <br /><br /> private citizens and firms may not have any access to federal criminal Federal Arrest records. Keep in mind too cases of false or mistaken identities which may bring blame to someone totally innocent of any wrongdoing thus you cannot generalize a person just based on his or her arrest records. Find out more about checking up on arrest records at <a href="http://www.governmentrecord.info/criminal-arrest-records-search/index.html" >http://www.governmentrecord.info/criminal-arrest-records-search/index.html</a> <br /><br /> If you are arrested - you will have to provide some basic information which includes your name/ address and telephone number/ the name of an <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/immediate+family+member" rel="tag">immediate family member</a> and their phone number and the name of the place of your employment. Similarly, firms may have the check before employing any new employees into different positions, particularly for high-profile jobs. <br /><br /> What Happens If You Are Arrested? <br /><br /> The arresting police will then fax the file to the District Attorney's office so they can draft a criminal complaint against you and assign your case file a docket number. Obviously if you see entries of crimes you have never committed- it is highly possible that someone else has been using your identity!. <bio>Find out more about checking up on arrest records at <a href="http://www.governmentrecord.info/criminal-arrest-records-search/index.html" >http://www.governmentrecord.info/criminal-arrest-records-search/index.html</a> </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[I think it's reasonably safe to assume that most people have used search engines at some time to research products and services. Whether you're looking for a wedding planner or to find the nearest <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/pizza+restaurant" rel="tag">pizza restaurant</a>, the answer is online, all you have to do is ask. Conversely, if you have a commercial website, achieving multiple first <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/page+search+engine" rel="tag">page search engine</a> rankings can drive thousands of qualified visitors to your site every day.<br><br>Advertising or Information<br><br>TV, Radio and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/printed+advertising" rel="tag">Printed advertising</a> is intrusive; it attempts to interrupt the viewer, listener or reader long enough to take notice of a marketing message. This type of marketing is known as <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/push+marketing" rel="tag">Push marketing</a>. Here the marketing message along with where and when it's delivered, are pretty much controlled by the advertiser.<br><br>The internet reverses this process, internet users turn search engines in order to receive the information they want at a time and place that suits them. Think about this, before there were search engines printed directories like Yellow Pages were the only way that you could locate a service. In the same way that someone using Yellow Pages to locate a wedding planner is likely to be looking for someone to help plan a wedding, someone using a search engine to research and locate your products or services is probably in the market for what you offer. This is called pull marketing.<br><br>I am not suggesting that traditional marketing no longer works, rather I am pointing out that someone who arrives at your site via a search engine is proactively seeking information. The chances are they have already decided to buy and are looking to locate a product. They are not looking for advertising or hype, they want information, they want it to be easily accessible, and they want the site to be user friendly.<br><br>What has Usability and Accessibility to do with SEO<br><br>Failing to consider accessibility or usability is failing to consider your visitors. At the end of the day SEO is rather more than simply obtaining <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/search+engine+positions" rel="tag">search engine positions</a>, it must in some way produce a return on investment. More sales, more leads or more opt-ins is what SEO is really about. Sure, search engine visibility plays a big part but remember this, no one ever buys from a search engine!<br><br>Accessibility<br><br>The fact is, many accessibility techniques could be considered SEO and vice versa. For example:<br><br>• Using CSS to separating style from content.<br><br>• Minimizing on-page JavaScript.<br><br>• Using valid, standards compliant code.<br><br>These simple steps will allow search engines to spider, index, categorise and rank web pages much easier. Furthermore, pages will download faster, be accessible to a wider range of browsers, older technologies and assistive devices such as screen readers. Note that each of Google's guidelines actually correlates with a W3C Web Content Accessibility Guideline.<br><br>One should not forget the legal responsibility to provide accessible web pages. Over recent years there have been some high profile court cases where companies have been successfully sued for failing to provide websites that are accessible to all.<br><br>Usability<br><br>Good usability enhances the visitor experience and encourages visitors to stay on your site longer. A great visitor experience rarely happens by chance, rather, it stems from an intimate understanding of your visitors and their immediate and long term goals.<br><br>• Identifying the different personas or groups of people who visit your website<br><br>• Evaluating the range of goals they have<br><br>• Structuring information into logical paths<br><br>• Help them achieve their goals in the minimum number of clicks.<br><br>The paths should initially address your visitors immediate needs by answering their questions and concerns then steer them towards completing the goal or call to action you have set out for them.<br><br>In Summary<br><br>SEO in the purest sense is about gaining search engine positions. If you know enough about SEO you will realise that just about any page will rank if you point enough links at it. But what will happen when a visitor lands on one of your pages, is the navigation intuitive, does the website think like them, do your pages render quickly in their browser of choice, does it project trust, will it make a sale?<bio>This article was written by <a href="http://www.seoscotland.net">SEO Scotland</a> a company that specializes in marketing Scottish business online.</bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[When we talk about the internet, we cannot escape the fact that one thing that is nice about the internet is that nobody really owns it. It is just a global collection of networks, both of those are big and small, that really link together in many various means just to create a certain formation or a single entity that we know today as "the internet". Since the internet was born in 1969, it has grown from four host computer systems to hundreds of millions today. And due to such rapid growth, it is no doubt that there came a concept for domain name which ten opened up to the concept for the internet <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/domain+name+registration" rel="tag">domain name registration</a>. <br /><br /> So speaking of the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/internet+domain+name" rel="tag">internet domain name</a> registration, you then should note that the term internet domain name registration has certain processes similar to a typical <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/domain+name+registrations" rel="tag">domain name registrations</a> process. It is just termed as "internet domain name registration" since you are <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/registering+a+domain+name" rel="tag"><a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/registering+a+domain" rel="tag">registering a domain</a> name</a> for the internet. <br /><br /> So as it is commonly noted, the internet domain name registration is not a prolonged process. However, it is just important to know that for the internet domain name registration to become easy as it should be, the effort of those who are serious of obtaining a domain name is needed. It is in fact true that the success of the internet domain name registration depends on the level of effort that those wish to own a domain name exerted. <br /><br /> Since we are talking about an internet domain name registration here, you should be aware that the most suitable way of looking for a domain name registrar, since it is the foremost step that a domain name consumer should take, is by using the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/domain+name+search" rel="tag">domain name search</a> engines. In the world of internet domain name registration, domain name search engines are the most typical way of looking for a domain name registrar. So when it is done, or once the domain name consumer is in the domain name registrar's site on the internet for an internet domain name registration, it is followed with an act of checking the accessibility of the desired domain name. <br /><br /> Following to such move for an internet domain name registration, the domain name registrar will communicate with a certain domain name registry to ascertain if the requested domain name entered during the early process of internet domain name registration is accessible for purchase or the requested domain name is already bought by another party. So then it follows that if desired domain name is still accessible, then the registrant is then fortunate that he or she will be able to go through the process of internet domain name registration by of course registering the domain name. <br /><br /> And in the internet domain name registration, you should be aware that you need to enter or to type the contact information and the Domain Name System information for your desired domain name. Such contact information needed in the internet domain name registration is then distributed with a certain registry for the top level domain purchased. Even more considerable is that in the internet domain name registration, you are basically inserting a record into an internet directory of the entire domain names and their equivalent computers on the internet. <bio>You're About To Learn The Secrets To Throwing The Most Amazing Baby Shower, No Matter How Much Time You Have To Prepare! <content:encoded><![CDATA[Web design is always a challenge: new <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/web+browsers" rel="tag"><a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/web+browser" rel="tag">web browser</a>s</a> make website owners to turn to web designers to redesign their web pages; different web browsers display websites in different ways, leading to the same problem: redesign. This is costly, needs time and if the job is not done right, the release of a new web browser may lead to the same trouble. Moreover: a non-standard-compliant website is not a user friendly website (obviously!) and it might damage your business, by driving your visitors away. <br /><br /> To avoid the inconvenience, ask your web developer to create an "all browsers compatible" website. <br /><br /> Design for All the Web Browsers <br /><br /> It's advisable that you have your website designed according to the World Wide Web Consortium's <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/accessibility+standards" rel="tag">accessibility standards</a>. These standards were created to improve user experience and Internet functionality. The most popular web browsers are <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/internet+explorer" rel="tag">Internet Explorer</a>, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/mozilla+firefox" rel="tag">Mozilla Firefox</a>, Opera, Safari (for Mac) and Konqueror (Linux). Once upon a time there was <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/netscape" rel="tag">Netscape</a> ruling over the Web. Right now Internet Explorer (IE 6) is the most popular browser, but Firefox is winning territory... fast! However, let's not forget the PDAs! If you have a website designed according to the accessibility standards, your site will stay functional in the future. <br /><br /> As IE 6 is not standards compliant, you might want to try designing for Firefox first. Preferred coding is XHTML, but HTML 4.01 will do too. When your web page looks great in Firefox, you may start editing it for Internet Explorer. Then validate your markup. Don't write on your website "best viewed with Mozilla Firefox" or "Best viewed with IE", etc. It's you who should have a browser compatible website and not your visitors who should change their browsers to be able to see your website. Write a "best viewed with..." on your landing page and you are going to drive customers away. User-friendly websites are "best viewed with any browser". <br /><br /> Design for the Future <br /><br /> Standard compliant web pages are the pages of the future. The Internet is constantly evolving and the future belongs to quality websites. Now it's the right time to start optimizing your websites. If you are a web developer take your job seriously and design for the future. This is how you are going to build up a good name and get more clients. <br /><br /> Webmasters are advised to support the "best viewed with any browser campaign". By creating an all browsers compatible website you make a promise of quality and a commitment to excellence. <br /><br /> To verify your "any browser compatibility" you might want to try the free services provided by AnyBrowser.com. Here you'll find a site viewer, html validation tools and many useful resources that will help you create the perfect website. <br /><br /> Other Technical Considerations <br /><br /> When you use non-HTML elements, remember that they are not compatible with all browsers, so provide alternatives. That works especially for Flash sites. I've seen a lot of "to view this web page you need Macromedia Flash" on websites. Do I really need it? Make me! Well, actually they cannot make me. Why? I can leave as fast as I came. I browse... browse away! <bio>Scott Lindsay is a web developer and entrepreneur. He is the founder of HighPowerSites and many other web projects. <content:encoded><![CDATA[Deep in the heart of an office complex there lies a room that may be filled with floor to ceiling server cages that house multiple web-based servers. In the back of a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/storefront" rel="tag">storefront</a> you may likely find servers working to keep websites operational. <br /><br /> A web host is simply a leasing agent for space on an existing server to allow your business website to be accessible by millions of Internet customers. The use of a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/web+hosting+service" rel="tag">web hosting service</a> is similar to leasing a storefront as a showroom -- it just costs less. <br /><br /> However, unlike a typical building lease option, a web host can provide a variety of features that you can customize based on the needs of your online business. For instance, you might need the capability of providing <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/file+transfer+protocol" rel="tag">File Transfer Protocol</a> (FTP) to business associates to access company data or new manufacturing specs. You might also need other data management protocols. <br /><br /> Most ecommerce websites will also need a shopping cart with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), database support and other similar features. Web hosting may not always be a 'one-size-fits-all' solution. You should determine what your needs will be in a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/web+hosting+solution" rel="tag">web hosting solution</a> and seek to find a solution that bundles the most options for the most reasonable price. <br /><br /> Interestingly, many of the sites that provide web design also make web hosting a part of the package. There may be many reasons this is so, but the predominant reason may be the access to the site information through a known or existing server. However, it is possible to work with a web hosting solution to allow the development of a site that is personally built by you. These web-hosting solutions allow the use of an extensive selection of features that can be customized through template rich designs and implemented in less time than other <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/web+development+options" rel="tag">web development options</a>. <br /><br /> You also want to find a web hosting service that can guarantee the greatest amount of uptime. Because the Internet has grown so fast you may also find web-hosting solutions that have no track record, so be careful about selecting a company that has not had ample time to prove their capabilities in maintaining quality service. <br /><br /> Leasing a portal to the web through a web-hosting service is one of the most cost effective ways to unleash your entrepreneurial spirit through a business startup, but you may be best served in looking through a variety of options before settling on a service that will help determine your accessibility on the web. <bio>Scott Lindsay is a web developer and entrepreneur. <content:encoded><![CDATA[Gambling has changed. With the increased popularity and accessibility of the internet, more and more people are gambling various forms. From <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/sports+<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/bet" rel="tag">bet</a>ting" rel="tag">sports betting</a> to underground <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/poker+rooms" rel="tag">poker rooms</a>, the general public is playing and it can be attributed largely to the internet. <br /><br /> Today's gambler is always looking for a way to gamble more easily and to do so within the legal bounds of his country. The internet provides him or her with just that. The gambling is accessible just by logging on, and since many <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/online+gambling+sites" rel="tag">online gambling sites</a> are set up outside the US territory, they are actually quite legal. <br /><br /> The internet makes it easy to gamble in all ways. <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/offshore+sports" rel="tag">Offshore sports</a> betting centers will allow you to see lines and odds almost as soon as they are posted at the actual sports book. In addition, a bet can be placed in any number of books while you simply sit in your chair looking at your computer screen. <br /><br /> The same goes for poker and other games. Casino games are available in video form online any time of day. The sites are, by and large, legal. This makes gambling in general more accessible for everyone. Long gone are the days where you met at a speakeasy to play poker and roulette. <br /><br /> Today, the craze is going beyond simply gambling on the internet. Now, most software is downloable to your phone so that you can see them, but also you can play the games on your phone. You can win and lose money right there on your cell phone without even leaving your car during rush hour. <br /><br /> Gambling is officially a mainstream sport or activity. People play at their homes, in school, at the Catholic Church, and even on cell phones. This type of exposure has made it so that gambling is the next great social activity out there. <bio>Scott Hargrave is a writer for Catholic Bets (<a href="http://www.CatholicBets.com">http://www.CatholicBets.com</a>) - an informational website that collects the best places for Catholics and Christians to enjoy their online gambling, dating and entertainment experience. </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Flash websites... you know the type. They're the ones where pages blip and fly across the screen, music blares from your <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/pc+speakers" rel="tag">PC speakers</a> and type is so small you would need to be bit-sized to read it. These days, designers are everywhere trying to convince clients and firms alike, that Flash gives them more options and allows them to express themselves more creatively. <br /><br /> Well, when did a designer's creativity take precedence over plain old effectiveness? Let's take a moment to pick apart Flash websites and three major <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/accessibility+problems" rel="tag">accessibility problems</a> associated with them. <br /><br /> The first of our Flash site perils: User accessibility. <br /><br /> Let's talk Atmosphere, since that is what the designers will try and sell you on first. Like a storefront or good restaurant, atmosphere is probably the most important factor of a website. How comfortable is your site? How intuitive is it on which to find information? How easy is the text to read? <br /><br /> One of the most beautiful things about properly built websites, is their accessibility to the public. Properly built HTML websites are marvels of modern technology: accessible on the web, by cell phone, with <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/speech+options" rel="tag">speech options</a> for the blind, and even <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/changeable+text" rel="tag">changeable text</a> size for the poor of vision. There are too many ways in which <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/professional+website+designers" rel="tag">professional website designers</a> make sites accessible to the broadest range of the public to go into in this article, but they allow each visitor's experience to be uniquely tailored to their own viewing needs and preferences. The best websites provide quality content in an atmosphere that entices a visitor to stay as long as possible, and promise new content to keep them coming back. <br /><br /> Let me ask you, how many flash websites do you visit often, or even have bookmarked in your browser? Probably not too many. Having been a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/professional+web+designer" rel="tag">professional web designer</a> and marketing consultant for years, I can tell you with great certainty that no one stays on a flash site very long. The format is cramped. The type is small. The beeping gets old quickly, and although you may have the most exceptional tastes in music, let us presume that not everyone will share in your interests. I personally, upon visiting a site that decides to play music, leave and never return. <br /><br /> While Flash is great at offering lot's of options to designers, it's exceptionally poor at offering proportionate options to site visitors. Flash powered sites are inaccessible by cell phone (to date no phone that I know of can run Flash, not even an iPhone, which has one of the most sophisticated web browsers of any phone on the market). But, that's not even the worst part, Flash is also inaccessible to anyone without ActiveX plugins installed on their computer. Now, you may think that everyone must have Flash / ActiveX on their computers by now... think again. Most of people that will be viewing your business' website, will be doing so from their cubicle at work, and companies are exerting tighter and tighter controls over what their employees can see or do over the web... and that includes your Flash website. So, if your small business has some great flashy website, kiss corporate America goodbye. <br /><br /> Here's the second thing that you can write off about your Flash site: Search Engine Accessibility (i.e. being found on Google and the like.) <br /><br /> No, I'm not kidding. With a Flash website, you can count yourself out for ever attaining page one, two, or even three of a Google search, and the reason is pretty simple: Google will have no idea what your site says or is about. Search engines base their ranking on two very important criteria: how many QUALITY pages link to your site (you may still be alright there, if you have been doing your SEO publishing) and how much relevant content there is on your site for the search term in question. Now, considering that Google and all of the other search engines will not be able to read the text on your Flash site, your chances of producing relevant content results are less than favorable. <br /><br /> Here's the last of our Flash site perils: Administrative Accessibility <br /><br /> Maybe you've already run into this problem. You have a great site, but you need some changes made and you are no longer using the designer that created the site for you. You call your current designer and ask for the changes, only to have them tell you that they just can't do it, because they don't have the master file. Flash sites are notorious for this. There is a public file that is accessed from the web, this is the file that viewers see when they go to your domain and it is also the file on your hosting account. This file is protected from import or change. However, there is also a master file in which the site was created and in which all changes must be made. Flash designers guard this file with their life! They almost never post it to the hosting account and never tell the client that this file exists and is needed. For the uninformed, this can lead to thousands of dollars as the previous designer is tracked down or the site is rebuilt. <br /><br /> Wow that's a lot of problems! And that's only counting accessibility issues. In part 2, we'll examine how these sites affect your potential customer base and your bottom line, but that's all for now! <bio>Good Work Marketing And Design is a New Orleans marketing and design studio that specializes in professional website design and development. <content:encoded><![CDATA[Running a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/coffee+shop" rel="tag">coffee shop</a> business can be a great idea, but there are some common mistakes that owners run into. Do your best to avoid these types of issues and you will find it is more profitable for you. There is no shortage of consumers out there for coffee and related drinks. Therefore you simply need to do your best to bring those customers to you.<br><br>Not advertising your coffee <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/shop+business" rel="tag">shop business</a> is a mistake. There are too many others out there for people to go to. The thing you will also come across is that people are often very loyal to the coffee shop they already go to. Therefore you need to offer something that will entice them to give you a chance. <br><br>It could be a promotion for a free <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/cup+of+coffee" rel="tag">cup of coffee</a> or some other offer that has value to them. You may be able to offer a lower price than the competition and sometimes that will work. You need to realize though that most consumers don't mind paying a bit more for quality. Therefore that tactic may not get you very many new customers. <br><br>You can't have a successful coffee shop business if you aren't in a good location. You need to think about accessibility. People are often very busy in the mornings when they are most likely to get <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/coffee+drinks" rel="tag">coffee drinks</a>. If you are on their way to work, school, and other <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/routine+activities" rel="tag">routine activities</a> then you will see more people coming in.<br><br>If they have to go out of their way to drive to your coffee shop business then they will be less likely to stop in. Think about accessibility in the way of <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/foot+traffic" rel="tag">foot traffic</a> as well. How close are you to places where people will be hanging out or working? All of that needs to be considered before you select a place to put your coffee shop.<br><br>You may find it is more effective to build a new place than it is going to be to purchase a building that already exists. You may be tempted to buy one that is already out there but you need to find out why it is empty. It could be that it wasn't accessible enough for people to find it convenient. <br><br>There is <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/no+doubt" rel="tag">no doubt</a> that the quality of the products and service you offer at your coffee shop business has to be very high. You don't want to cut corners by reducing the quality of what you use. The ingredients you use to make the drinks will determine your outcome. Even the quality of the equipment you use and the water you mix ingredients with will affect the taste.<br><br>You can be sure that people are also anticipating quality service as well. No one wants to get their coffee from a face that doesn't seem happy to see them. You need to make sure everyone you hire is treating customers like they should be treated. It will have a significant impact on your coffee shop business.<bio>Karyn Lewis is passionate about great coffee. <content:encoded><![CDATA[Usability -- is one of the latest <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/notions" rel="tag">notions</a> that busted into our lives recently, besides Search Engine Optimization and Accessibility. All three notions appear to be very important for everyone who struggles to gain some clicks or impressions on the web, but all the theory standing beside these notions seems to me a little bit too much. And I'm going to explain why. <br /><br /> I recently started to work on a project about usability - theory and practice in online stores - trying to prove that every <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/marketing+department" rel="tag">marketing department</a> not considering usability as a major point in developing an online store will cause major loses for their company. <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/seo" rel="tag">SEO</a> is very seriously treated by these <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/marketing+departments" rel="tag">marketing departments</a> but usability and accessibility, even if they do not represent a new term in web developing, are still considered unimportant factors in business strategy. <br /><br /> Even if it took many years for SEO to be treated seriously by marketers, I think no business can afford to waste years when it comes to their <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/website+usability" rel="tag">website usability</a>. Why is that? Make some calculations please. Considering the fact that more then 50% of online customers abandon their <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/shopping+carts" rel="tag">shopping carts</a> and it is estimated that online shopping will represent a 30 billion dollars business in the next 5 years, how much money a company will lose by not taking into considerations the user needs and expectations? Who is willing not to be part of this huge profit by ignoring online customers? <br /><br /> What is to be done for these marketers? There are a lot of articles about usability on the web and a lot of websites for testing purposes. I did that myself. I took a website, <a href="<a href="http://www.nicewallpapers.info">http://www.nicewallpapers.info</a>"><a href="http://www.nicewallpapers.info">http://www.nicewallpapers.info</a></a> and tested users' responses to every little change made in layout, labeling or link structure. And I've applied all the new stuff in my customers' websites. But most important is that I'm aware that usability matters and I have to center my websites on what user wants and needs. <bio>I am studying usability of online stores as part of my university graduating project and applying it in layout design at my daily job at Analecta -- a well known web design studio. My playground is <a href="<a href="http://www.nicewallpapers.info">http://www.nicewallpapers.info</a>"><a href="http://www.nicewallpapers.info">http://www.nicewallpapers.info</a></a> </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[One of the easiest ways to make a wedding memorable is to have a theme. Themes can be humorous, cultural, seasonal, venue-inspired or downright crazy but one thing they do is make your wedding unique and unforgettable. This is because although themes may be alike, each person's interpretation of the theme is different.<br><br>When choosing a theme, you should consider two things; one is accessibility of resources and the other one is accessibility of materials. Accessibility of resources suggests the cost of implementing a theme. Having a castle wedding would probably require you to rent one and this is very expensive as well as it might require you to have your wedding in another place or country. Accessibility of material is referring to the decorating materials for your theme. A snow wedding in spring will require creating snow which is difficult and costly.<br><br>Here are a few examples of wedding themes:<br>- Seasonal themes -- This is based on the four seasons, spring, summer, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/autumn+and+winter" rel="tag">autumn and winter</a>. If an <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/autumn+wedding" rel="tag">autumn wedding</a> is chosen then decor such as maple leaves are used as well as honey and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/golden+colors" rel="tag">golden colors</a> are used for other decors. Spring wedding would warrant lots of flowers. <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/sunset+wedding" rel="tag">Sunset wedding</a> also falls into this category as the wedding will be held during sunset especially the exchange of vows.<br><br>- Venue-inspired themes. This is the kind of wedding the uses the venue as the theme. Such themes are the beach wedding, castle wedding and garden wedding.<br><br>- Cultural themes. Themes based on cultural themes are quite popular too. This is especially true for cross-cultural marriages. It is even more interesting when mixed culture is showcased in these wedding. Examples of cultural themes are Indian wedding, Scottish wedding or Chinese wedding.<br><br>- <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/humorous+themes" rel="tag">Humorous themes</a> -- This is the theme that will bring out fun and humor for the wedding. It could be anything from fancy dress such as the Retro theme, The Seventies, Halloween, Medieval Times and The Wild West.<br><br>- Color themes. Color themed wedding can be interesting as it is up to one's creativity to use the chose color or colors. Themes like Goth or psychedelic are derived from color theme wedding.<br><br>- Extreme weddings. Extereme weddings are gaining popularity these days and usually, those who do opt for them will make it in the news. These are the types of weddings that adventurous and outdoor type of couple would go for and examples of them are underwater weddings, bungee-jumping points or mid-air weddings.<br><br>The success of any chosen theme greatly depends on the creativity of the couples. You should make the theme come to life by using the right materials to create the accurate atmosphere. You must be willing to improvise to make things happen. For instance, if you can't paint the walls of the venue, try using disposable wall paper. Be sure to seek permission from owner before you start any alteration.<br><br>To choose a wedding theme and to be able to carry it out with conviction is a great task. Therefore, it is always best to have a theme that is personal to you and your spouse. Some ways you can decide on the wedding theme you want is to look at your lifestyles, hobbies and backgrounds. The easiest way to choose wedding themes is from your hobbies -- choosing your favorite sport, like golf or soccer, often ends up as a popular theme or your favorite leisure activities, like music or dancing.<br><br>Another popular theme wedding is one that is based on your careers. If both you and your spouse are in the financial sector, using a Money theme can be suitable while a Lounge theme is appropriate for couples who are in the media or entertainment industries. Otherwise, go totally different and have a theme wedding that has absolutely nothing to do with your careers.<br><br>If it is too difficult to merge two different careers, then pick a common interest -- a love for cars, for instance, or a compulsion to travel.<br><br>The important thing is choosing wedding themes is that the themes must be meaningful to you. Theme weddings, after all, are an extension of the bridal couple's lives.<bio>Melissa Cruz is a leading expert in planning for weddings and advices on the use of the right wedding decorations such as wedding cake toppers and so on according to the <a href="http://hubpages.com/hub/wedding-planning-what-to-look-out-for">wedding themes</a> to add to the enhancement of the overall deco of your wedding based on the wedding themes. <content:encoded><![CDATA[ A very important point to consider while <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/designing+a+website" rel="tag">designing a website</a> is <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/proper+navigation" rel="tag">proper navigation</a>. You must ensure that potential clients or customers are able to find the information they are looking for without too many clicks. As a quick rule of thumb, visitors to your site should be able to visit all your pages by using, at most, 3 clicks. This is also important when considering <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/search+engine+optimization" rel="tag">search engine optimization</a> (SEO) because <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/search+engines" rel="tag">search engines</a> will only spider (or index) pages that are 3 clicks deep into your site. Not only does proper navigation allow users to find information they are looking for, but it also allows search engines to spider (or index) the information they are looking for. This is essential if you want high quality <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/search+engine+traffic" rel="tag">search engine traffic</a> directed to your website. <br /><br /> Different types of websites employ different navigation styles, so it is probably best to visit websites similar to your own to see which navigation structure they have chosen. The most common locations for your <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/navigation+menu" rel="tag">navigation menu</a> are either on the left side of the page or at the top of the page. When internet users view a website, they do so using what is termed as a "Z scan". As soon as a page loads, most people scan from the top-left, across to the top-right of the page, then down to the lower-left, and eventually across to the lower-right of the page. So, it makes the most sense to locate your navigation menu in the area where the user is going to first look. <br /><br /> Smaller sites usually only require a static menu on either the side or top of the page. However, website that contains 10 =96 15 topics on different pages may require a drop-down menu. These menus may use DHTM, JavaScript, or some other programming language. When the user's mouse moves over a main topic category, boxes containing subcategories will drop-down, allowing the user to quickly find the information they are looking for. I f this type of menu is used, it is best to also include text-based navigation in another location on the page. Older browser versions may not support drop-down menus, and therefore a small percentage of people may not be able to navigate your website. Even more important though, is the fact that search engines will not be able to navigate and index your site if there is no text based navigation. <br /><br /> Another concern is accessibility by assistive technologies. For example, blind Internet users literally read the code of your page. Therefore, if a navigation menu is image based or uses image maps, alternate text must be used to allow the user to properly navigate the website. To make things easy, no matter what type of navigation I choose for a client's website, I always include text-based navigation links at the bottom of every page to ensure that they are accessible to all Internet users and search engine spiders. <br /><br /> A Few Important Tips <br /><br /> - Plan your site navigation structure before designing your website to ensure that you are not forgetting any page links. It may be cumbersome to fix every page you have created because you a missing a link or two. <br /><br /> - The navigation menu must be clean-cut and uniform. <br /><br /> - Do not make the user scroll down the page to see the navigation menu. <br /><br /> - If you have too many links, use drop-down menus or create a site map. <br /><br /> - The navigation structure should be flexible enough to allow the inclusion of a additional links at a later date. <br /><br /> - Use short, clear and concise words in your links so your customers know exactly what type of information that page will contain. <br /><br /> - Make sure every page has a link back to your homepage. This can be achieved by providing a "Home" link in the navigation structure, and / or linking your logo image to the homepage. <br /><br /> - For larger sites, breadcrumb trails can be used to let the user know what section of the website they are in. For example, at the top of a certain page, the user would see: "Home / Products / Widgets / Green Widgets" <bio>Paul Coulter owns and operates a London Ontario Website Design Company. <content:encoded><![CDATA[There are many day to day obstacles that must be overcome by people who are mobility challenged. Many things like going shopping or to a restaurant can be very difficult. Many of these places are made to be accessible and by law are required to be so.<br><br>In 1990 the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/americans+with+disabilities+act" rel="tag">Americans with Disabilities Act</a> (ADA) was signed into law by <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/president+george+bush" rel="tag">President George Bush</a>. It is a civil rights law that builds upon the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/civil+rights+act+of+1964" rel="tag"><a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/civil+rights+act" rel="tag">Civil Rights Act</a> of 1964</a>, but is aimed at ensuring that those who are handicapped or disabled are not discriminated about. The law is intended to cover those who are physically or mentally impaired in a manner that substantially effects and limits their lives. Usually whether a certain type of condition is considered to be a disability is decided case by case, but there are some conditions, like those that are faced by current substance abusers, that are not covered.<br><br>The ADA is aimed at preventing <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/discrimination+in+the+workplace" rel="tag">discrimination in the workplace</a>, on public transportation, in commercial areas, and in telecommunication. The goal is to provide those who are disabled or handicapped with the same experiences and opportunities, be it at work or at a private business, as those of non-disabled individuals.<br><br>When applying for a job, it is against the law for the employer to disqualify a qualified applicant because they are disabled. It is also not allowed for the employers to require medical testing of an employee, unless they require this testing of all of their employees. If medical testing is required the records must be treated as <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/confidential+medical+records" rel="tag">confidential medical records</a>. These requirements however do not apply to applicants or employees who are engaged in <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/illegal+drug+use" rel="tag">illegal drug use</a>, if the drug use is the basis for the employer's decision.<br><br>Public transportation must also be completely accessible for those who are mobility challenged, and it is considered discrimination to not make an attempt to provide accommodation. Private businesses and companies must also make their business and the services that they provide accessible to those who are mobility challenged. This covers any new construction that has taken place after 1992, but also buildings that existed prior to the passing of the ADA. Existing buildings and structures must also make an effort to remove barriers to those who are mobility challenged. The decision of whether a company needs to remove barriers is based on the whether it is possible for the company to easily and inexpensively make the changes. This takes into account the resources of the companies on a case by cases basis, so what is readily achievable for a high-tech and financially stable company, might not be considered readily available for a smaller operation.<br><br>In addition to providing equal access to employment, public transportation, and businesses, it is also necessary for telecommunication companies to provide equivalent services for those who are disabled. This applies to all telecommunication companies and is usually geared towards those who are deaf, have speech impairments, or are hard of hearing. This section of the ADA has lead to Telecommunication Relay Services, which allows people who are disabled to place calls to standard telephones.<br><br>The actual sections of the ADA go into much more detail about the requirements of business owners and employers towards those who are mobility challenged. Overall has led to more accessibility for those who are mobility challenged.<bio>There are several types of medical equipment, like <a href="http://www.ameriglide.com/Vertical-Platform-Lifts.htm">vertical platform lifts</a>, that can be used to help increase the accessibility of your business, so that it complies with ADA standards and is more accessible. <content:encoded><![CDATA[When you're searching for a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/cash+advance" rel="tag">cash advance</a>, comparing online <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/lenders" rel="tag">lenders</a> is important. It's not difficult if you know what qualities are most desirable. Remember that applying online for your cash advance is only part of the process. You must also be approved and, in order to be approved, you've got to make sure there is in place a clearly defined repayment procedure. Here are some helpful when comparing online cash advance lenders. <br /><br /> Spend some time on each online lender's website. This is the most efficient way of comparing online cash advance lenders. The first thing to look for is membership in the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/cfsa" rel="tag">CFSA</a>. The Community Financial Services Association is a membership organization that realized a need to establish a set of standards for the cash advance industry. Along with paying dues, members agree to abide by the organization's Best Practices Guidelines with responsibilities that include truthful advertising and a willingness to encourage customers to act responsibly. Knowing that a cash advance company believes it's important to conduct business professionally and fairly means you're dealing with a company that cares about its customers. <br /><br /> This online organization maintains useful information on its website for cash advance lenders as well as the general public. You can learn more about the industry itself and view the complete listing of Best Practices. The site even has its own list of frequently asked questions. <br /><br /> Another membership that reflects favorably with <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/online+business" rel="tag">online business</a> owners is the Better Business Bureau's Online Reliability Program. Similar in function to the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/bbb" rel="tag">BBB</a> that has been in existence for decades, before becoming a member an online business also must agree to adhere to a strict policy governing customer interaction and satisfaction. <br /><br /> When comparing cash advance online lenders, you will know immediately which ones belong to either of these programs. Online <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/business+members" rel="tag">business members</a> in good standing will proudly display each respective organization's icon where it'll be clearly visible to all new visitors. <br /><br /> Compare access to customer service. When comparing online cash advance lenders, it's also a good idea to check out each company's accessibility to customer service. Sometimes when doing business on the Internet it can seem like you're all alone. You type information about the product or service for which you're inquiring and hope that somewhere along the line a real human being is waiting to help. There should be a toll-free customer service telephone number that's staffed during normal business hours. Or better yet, look for sites offering "live chat" accessibility to a qualified customer service agent and get your questions answered instantaneously. <br /><br /> While you're comparing the content of the various online cash advance lenders, check to see which ones offer Customer Rewards programs. On some sites you can earn money every time you refer a friend. Some will offer discounts for first-time customers. These types of incentives can leave you with even more money in your pocket. <br /><br /> The online cash advance industry is among the fastest-growing in the financial services industry and comparing lenders might just save you time and money! <bio><a href="http://www.cashadvance.org" >http://www.cashadvance.org</a> </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[Advertising and marketing should be a top priority for any business and with the age of the internet comes the best ever way of marketing and attracting new clients, customers and internet traffic, based on targeted online marketing. Using an <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/internet+marketing+agency" rel="tag">internet marketing agency</a> or SEO consultants for your campaign is both cost-effective and fully-measurable via online statistics software so you can track every aspect of your <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/marketing+campaign" rel="tag">marketing campaign</a> <br /><br /> Pay per click (PPC) is a popular method of advertising for mostly larger businesses and involves bidding on keywords to attract users to your web site. These andquot;sponsored linksandquot; are then displayed at the top positions of search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN. <br /><br /> PPC can and does work for many businesses, but unless you have a dedicated, sustainable budget, this is probably not the most cost-effective of routes. Click fraud has been a buzz word for a while now and it needs to be taken seriously before starting any campaign as this could prove costly to your business. <br /><br /> The preferred option of internet marketing for most businesses and for the majority of <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/search+engine+users" rel="tag">search engine users</a>, is the andquot;organicandquot; or natural listings which are essentially free, but rely on the algorithms of the search engines to determine which pages and sites appear at the top of the list. <br /><br /> It is not rocket science to get a top ten <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/search+engine+ranking" rel="tag">search engine ranking</a>, but if your business is in a competitive industry, it can be costly and you may have to wait up to three months before results are seen. <br /><br /> To get new business with a top ten ranking on Google, Yahoo and MSN you will need to have an <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/seo+consultancy" rel="tag">SEO consultancy</a> that takes into account <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/search+engine+optimisation" rel="tag">Search Engine Optimisation</a> (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and a linking campaign to put a trust factor into your web site. <br /><br /> Once you get a top ten search engine ranking through an internet marketing agency or seo constultancy, you will start to receive enquiries, phone calls and sales only if your site has undergone a usability and an accessibility test, without this all your hard work and investment may be for nothing. You could have a top ten search engine ranking, but if you have a poor website that does not make it easy for visitors to take the action you want them to, you have made a mistake and you will have to edit your website or get your SEO consultants or your internet marketing agency to do it for you. <br /><br /> With a well planned internet marketing strategy, your website will benefit immensely and your web traffic will dramatically increase as a result. <br /><br /> Search engine optimisation is not a mystery, more of a strategic implementation of good search engine policies and practices to ensure your online business fulfils it's potential. <br /><br /> Copyright Utopia Solutions <bio>Lee Smith is a London seo consultant that writes articles for many agencys and has a passion for search engine optimisation and Internet marketing.
