However, the international payments to prevent collisions at sea define it as an any ship propelled by machines. An outboard motor boat is a small motor boat designed to move quickly, used in the races, to draw from the skiers of water, like high-speed motorboats, and bus the fast ships armed with attack by the soldiers.

Even the inflatable boats with an engine attached which can be portion like high-speed motorboat at high speed or while a pedestrian boat of painful walk providing transport to and of a mooring buoy are technically classified as motor boats.

There are three popular variations of the power stations: on board, external, and external board/. If the engine is installed in the boat, it called a power station; if it is a dismountable module fixed at the boat, one generally knows it like external engine. An external engine is installed on the back of a boat and contains the internal combustion engine, the reduction speed (transmission), and the engine.

An external interior/un contains a hybrid of a power station and of an outboard motor boat, where the internal combustion engine is contained on board and the reduction and the engine speed are outside. A purely interior boat contains all except an axis and an engine inside the ship. There are two configurations of an interior, v-conduit and direct order.

A direct order with the power station assembled close to the medium of the boat with the axis of engine directly outside the back, where v-to lead to the power station assembled in the back of the coatings of boat making backwards go the axis forwards boat that by making a "V" backwards. The motor boats change considerably in the face and the configuration, of the 4 meters, the type open of Boston Whaler to the mega-yachts of luxury able to cross an ocean. <bio>You can find more info in the http://www.glueguns.net portal, which is administrated by the author of this article. </bio>

In the market today, there are four main types of hybrid car: the micro, the mild, the full (also known as parallels) and the series (also known as serial or range extender).

Micro Hybrid Car have electric motors which have no driving power. In micro hybrids, the electric motors supply functions like managing the engine to stop and start, auxiliary power and regenerative braking to charge the battery. This hybrid saves five to fifteen percent on fuel.

Mild Hybrid Cars move from stationary only if the internal combustion engine is engaged. They also make use of the electric motor to assist the gas engine when additional power is required. The systems also support features like start and stop, and regenerative breaking.

The Series Hybrids are electric cars with assistance from a small ICE (internal combustion engine). In these cars only the electric motor propels the vehicle. The engine drives an alternator. This alternator creates electricity which either flows to a battery for storage or it flows to the electric motor. If the car is running on batteries alone, the engine will turn on when they empty to a particular level and starts to recharge them. Advanced series hybrids are known as Fuel Cell Vehicles, when a separate power source produces the electricity that drives the motor, or alternatively it is deposited for later use.

The full hybrid car can be driven by the electric motor or the engine separately or together. This is different to the micro and mild hybrids. This capability allows the driver to start driving the car using just the electric motor. The diesel engine and the electric motor provide different power levels. Full hybrids are also called parallel hybrids for the reason that the electric motor and the engine are joined in parallel to the same transmission. Full hybrids are likely to be more expensive because they require a more powerful motor and battery system

In the next few years, a lot of the work done with hybrids in the vehicle market will be performed with mostly with mild and full types of hybrid cars. The definitive capabilities of the vehicle depends on many factors, including the strength and quality of the eclectic motor, the battery capabilities, the quality of the engine and the efficiency and the type of the fuel engine.

For information on buying and selling new and second hand cars and bikes visit http://www.bharathautomobiles.com/index.php <bio>James Gunaseelan writes for India's leading automobile portal http://www.bharathautomobiles.com/index.php </bio>

A turbojet engine is a type of internal combustion engine often used to propel aircraft. Air is drawn into the rotating compressor via the intake and is compressed to a higher pressure before entering the combustion chamber. Fuel is mixed with the compressed air and ignited by a small flame in the eddy of a flame holder.

This combustion technique significantly raises the temperature of the gas. Hot combustion chemicals leaving the combustor expand through the turbine, where power is drawn to employ the compressor. Although this expansion process reduces both the gas temperature and pressure at exit from the turbine, both variabels are for the most part still well above ambient conditions. The gas stream exiting the turbine expands to ambient pressure through the propelling nozzle, causing a high velocity jet in the exhaust plume. So if the jet velocity surpasses the aircraft flight speed it amazingly creates a forward thrust.

Under normal circumstances, the pumping action of the compressor prevents any backflow, this kindly helps the flow of the jet engine. You can compare the whole method with a four stroke cycle, but with induction, compression, ignition, expansion and exhaust taking place simultaneously. The efficiency of a jet engine is strongly dependent upon the pressure ratio (Combustor Entry Pressure/Intake Delivery Pressure) and the Turbine Inlet Temperature of the cycle.

It is also perhaps instructive to compare turbojet engines with propeller engines. Turbojet engines take a rather small mass of air and accelerate it by a large amount, whereas a propeller takes a large mass of air and accelerates it by a small amount.

At great speed the exhaust of a jet engine makes it efficient at high speeds (particularly supersonic speeds) and high altitudes.

On planes that go slower and fly a shorter range, a gas turbine-powered propeller engine, commonly known as a turboprop, is far more common and also more efficient. Especially small aircraft primarily use conventional piston engines to drive a propeller but small turboprops are getting smaller as technology improves each day.

The turbojet mentioned above is a single spool design, where a single shaft connects the compressor to the turbine Higher Overall Pressure Ratio designs often have two concentric shafts, this is to in essence improve the stability of the compressor during engine throttle movements.

Basically it's the outer shaft that connects the turbine engine to the high pressure compressor. The combustor together with the high pressure compressor spool forms the core or gas generator of the engine. We must not forget that the inner shaft connects the low pressure compressor to the LP Turbine to create the LP Spool. Either spools are free to operate at their optimum shaft speed. <bio>By Bill Johnson Find More Info About Engines Here: http://dediannonces.com - http://dediannonces.com/index.php/272/auto-paint-low-price-auto-glass/ </bio>

Air cleaner is a device used to remove solid air particles such as dust, molds, pollens and bacteria's from the air. Air cleaners are used in an enclosed environment that uses aircon's, such as aircrafts, building ventilation system, offices; hotel's and other man made enclosed facilities and environments. Another use of air cleaners is in engines like gas compressors, diving compressors, internal combustion engines and gas turbine to name a few. Air cleaners are found in almost all forced -- air heating system, ventilation and air conditioning units. The air cleaners in these units are found to be significantly important in cleaning and maintaining the quality of air indoors.

Air cleaner that is found inside an internal combustion engines prevents abrasive particulate from penetrating the engine's cylinders, where it can cause mechanical problems and oil contamination. Fuel injected vehicles use a pleated paper filter to trap and filter elements. This air cleaner is usually located near the throttle body of the engine with the intake manifold tubes. An older vehicle uses carburetors, or cylindrical air cleaner systems most often they are incorporated in the ducting unit to provide cool or warm air inlet. And without this air cleaner the car engine or if your car air filters becomes too dirty or clogged, your car engine could not get enough air that is needed for combustion. When then happens your car may lose power, run roughly or stop functioning at the same time. While permanent damage is a rarity, cleaning or replacing the air cleaners in your is a must to keep the engine running smoothly.

On the other hand sir cleaners have become significant fixtures in homes, office and buildings that usually use air conditioning units to clean the air circulating around the area. It is sad but true that the air we breathe has become more and more polluted and Statistics show that there is an increase rate of people suffering from asthma, lung diseases and illnesses, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, and other respiratory problems. That is why nowadays we rely on these devices to clean the air around us. Air cleaners provide an efficient way to filter out pollens, dust particles, animal dander's, harmful fumes and odors antigens, bacteria, mold and viruses that can cause illness and diseases. Without these air cleaners, indoor air are five times more hazardous to the health of the individuals inside the area. This is because air that is circulating inside the area could not be expelled outside therefore bacteria's molds, antigens and viruses are trapped and are inhaled by the people. With the help of air cleaners in this confined areas these particles are eliminated and destroyed in turn giving out clean air for breathing. An air cleaner that is found to be effective for home and commercial use is the air cleaner that has High Efficiency Particulate Arresting air cleaners this technology are able to remove and absorb 99.7% of harmful substances in the air. Air cleaners are easy to use and maintain. Air cleaners helps us to free ourselves of pollutants that our bodies simply cannot free itself.<bio>Air cleaner</bio>

Radiators used in autos help to keep the engine cool. To know how it helps the engine, you need to study the car mechanism. When you switch on the engine of your auto, it produces large amount of energy and heat. This heat expels out from the exhaust system.

The remaining stagnant stays in engine area. Even though, engine of all autos require heat to function at the optimum level, too much of energy, and heat destroys the inner mechanics of car engine. If the intensity of heat is high, it melts pistons as well as cylinders present within the engine. Moreover, if it happens, then you cannot drive your auto anymore. So, in such radiators for autos come into rescue.

How Does It Really Help?

Radiators are made from aluminum. These radiators contain an array of long tubes that go through engine of the auto. The tubes contain liquid coolant, which provides relief to the internal parts of auto during the engine heating session. Later, water pump present in the engine helps the cooling fluid circulate throughout the engine. Thus, the job of radiator is to ease the progress of heat within the engine exchanger.

Radiator is a significant part of the cooling system of your auto and its basic function is to keep the auto temperature at normal level, so that the car may deliver its maximum potential. In different words, engine needs to be hot enough to deliver speed, but not too hot.

Radiator also helps the fuel to convert in vapor easily and quickly. When fuel is converted into water vapor in the combustion chamber, the process of combustion becomes more efficient. In addition, the auto releases less amount of carbon monoxide in the atmosphere.

Moreover, with the help of radiator if engine runs at perfect temperature, then it means oil lubricates the engine consistently and helps the parts of automobile to run smoothly, thereby ensuring longer lifespan of the vehicle.

Radiator does not show any problems, but if your thermostat breaks down due to overheating, then radiator may start developing troubles. It may seriously impair the performance of your vehicle. In addition, the emission levels will be too high. Thus, you need to install high quality thermostats, as well as radiator in your automobile.

Taking Care:

Radiators used in autos are costly and you cannot afford to replace them too often. Therefore, while buying a car, you need to check for the presence of any pores in its radiator. If the radiator has pores, then coolants will leak in the engine. As a result, your car may break down any moment after heating up.

Next, dust particles can clog the radiator severely, so clean it routinely. If you have an expensive car and think that you do not have to look after the radiator maintenance, you are wrong, because the basic mechanism of car remains the same. Hence, you need to need to keep the tool (radiator) in working order, for the longevity of your autos.<bio>Save on gas with a gas credit card and find more of Tom's work at FINDgascards.</bio>

We should all be aware of the growing problem of global warming caused by greenhouse gases being pumped into the atmosphere. A large percentage of these gases are coming from the very cars and trucks that we all drive everyday, (most of which still use the very inefficient internal combustion engine, an engine that is notorious for emitting harmful exhaust gases.) But by converting your existing cars into Hydrogen Powered Cars you can drastically reduce the amount of pollution that YOU produce by driving everyday, and so cut the size of your personal carbon tire print.

Hydrogen powered cars are simply ordinary cars that have been converted to use plain water as a supplement to the gasoline that we all burn in our cars. The technology of Hydrogen fuel cars has allowed us all to be able to drive cars that are greener and much more environmentally friendly, and as a bonus we can make huge gas mileage improvements as well due to the more efficient running of the hydrogen fuel cars.

It is not only very easy and cheap to convert your ordinary cars into Hydrogen powered cars, but once converted they are really easy to maintain and service.

The most common question people have about converting their cars into hydrogen fuel cars is whether or not it will damage the engine. Well the simple answer is no. Right now your engine is being damaged from the deposits of carbon from unburned fuel, Hydrogen powered cars burn fuel much more efficiently and therefore cleanly. This not only prevents further build up in your engine but over a period of time will actually remove the carbon deposits already present.

The combustion cycle in hydrogen powered cars is a much more even one; this change of combustion takes place immediately after the conversion. Many people have reported that their engine stops knocking and starts to run quieter than before with increased power and performance giving a much smoother ride. This is all due to the more efficient burning of fuel when compared with an ordinary engine burning gasoline alone.

And do not forget the fantastic gas mileage improvements that you can expect with hydrogen fuel cars. Most users have reported a saving on gasoline of between 25% and 45%, that's a lot of cash that you could put to better use.

On average the maintenance costs of hydrogen powered cars is a lot less than that of regular cars using gasoline. The performance is increased with the effect of a lot less wear and tear on your engine, this results in fewer trips to the garage and less money spent on mechanics bills. Even the harmful exhaust emissions associated with the gas guzzling engines are reduced to almost zero.

With all these advantages, converting your cars into hydrogen powered cars would seem to make a lot of sense. Not only are hydrogen fuel cars cheap and easy to maintain it is also possible for anyone to convert their existing cars into hydrogen powered cars and start making gas mileage improvements for themselves as well as doing their bit to help improve the environment.<bio>Discover for yourself more about Hydrogen Powered Cars and how easy it is to convert your cars.CLICK HERE NOW http://www.MoreGasMPG.com/saveongas.html</bio>

Hydrogen fuel cell cars are expensive and impractical. So why would we even consider them? With gasoline prices well over $4 per gallon and reduction of CO2 emissions a priority, all alternative fuels and future car technologies are getting a closer scrutiny these days. Not only that, if a proper infrastructure was created, Hydrogen could very well be the world's next propulsion fuel. Its cheap and abundant...so what are we waiting for?

What are they, and how do they work?

Hydrogen can be burned in a combustion engine or be converted back into electricity through a fuel cell. In an internal combustion automotive engine, gasoline or hydrogen can be used in a dual-fuel system that will suffice until a widespread hydrogen infrastructure can be built. These dual fuel cell systems are much like the electric hybrids like Toyato's Prius, yet they use hydrogen rather than electricity to supplement the gasoline.

In the long-term, with an infrastructure in place, hydrogen-on-demand vehicles can use either a hydrogen compound for internal combustion, or a fuel cell can create electro-mechanical energy and water. A fuel cell isn't as complicated as a conventional gas or diesel engine and isn't subject to high temperatures, corrosion or some of the structural weaknesses found in other types of engines. This affords a flexibility and durability for Hydrogen fuel cells. Hydrogen is processed through the fuel cell and combined with oxygen to create electricity. This newly formed energy is sent to pistons to propel the car forward (or reverse if you like). These fuel cell cars promise zero emissions and pollutants, with the only tailpipe emission being water vapor. Fuel-Cells are basically a combination of a battery and an engine making them a very unique advancement in car propulsion systems. Every year more and more efficient fuel cells are churned out by engineers and factories propelling the hydrogen car possibilities forward. Fuel-Cell conventions and conglomerates abound and with more and more government grants focusing on Fuel-Cell and Hydrogen Car development, the future continues to get brighter for Hydrogen Fuel-Cell cars.

While there is concern that putting hydrogen fuel cell cars on the road is as bad of an idea as was the ill-fated Hindenburg, experts say the two aren't related, and recent advances in car technology include development of safe, on-board hydrogen storage systems.
Infrastructure and hydrogen highways.

If you're not familiar with the term, a hydrogen highway is a chain of hydrogen-equipped filling stations along a road. What will it take to make it happen? Norway started the HyNor Project in 2006; Japan has several stations, as does Germany, and California now reports having 25 stations in place from San Diego to Sacramento. All of these stations will add to a momentum of change and will hopefully give rise to a new determination to improve on present Hydrogen powered vehicle prototypes in order to begin to switch our fleet of petroleum based cars. The Hydrogen car will arrive even if it takes time: The future is now.<bio>Andrew Beckers writes about subjects important to everyone.
When people in the office talk about temperature sensors they are almost certainly talking about part of a car emission control system. The engine control system adjusts the fuel and air-flow to the combustion chambers of an internal combustion engine depending on its temperature. If the temperature sensor is faulty, then the engine will not run correctly, if it runs at all.

Older drivers may remember the manual choke control that you pulled out to start the engine when it was cold, and how this was superseded by the automatic choke. Somehow the manual choke never went wrong, unlike its new and allegedly better replacement.

Temperature sensors are one of the most frequently replaced parts in an automobile.

Temperature sensors away from the world of motoring are designed to measure the temperature at different stages of a chemical or other industrial process and feed back that data to a control center. Pyrometers are specialist temperature measuring devices with a very fast response time and a very high operating temperature range.

Pyrometers may have a response time as low as 5 milliseconds and can measure the temperature without contact with the material. These features mean that a pyrometer is essential where a manufacturer wants to measure the temperature of a rapidly moving steel rod or even of a molten steel stream.

A pyrometer works by analysing the thermal radiation emitted by a hot object.

All black bodies emit radiation of the same frequency at the same temperature. An optical pyrometer the frequency emitted by an electrically heated filament is matched with the frequency of the radiation emitted by the hot object/material under test. When the two match they are the same temperature. The temperature of the filament is obtained by referring to tables of data and operating conditions.

In a radiation pyrometer the radiation emitted from the object/material under test is detected using sensor such as a thermocouple. <bio>Loreno Lepe is an engineer.
The rising cost of gasoline today has finally knocked some sense into the American automobile market. The absurd prices of gas may have taken the country unexpectedly but other countries have already been exploring the use of alternative fuel and more fuel-efficient cars. Brazil, for example has been using ethanol from corn since the 1970s when the Middle East embargo forced the country to consider other fuel options. They are now one of the world's largest producers of ethanol.

Japan is also one of the leaders when it comes to the use of hybrid vehicles, even releasing designs and prototypes for a fully-automated electric vehicle. Majority of the automobiles that come from Japan and other Asian countries have the best fuel economy feature.

Unfortunately, the United States have been lagging behind in terms of alternative fuel use and fuel efficient cars. General Motors have been criticized for its very uneconomical automobile line but recently, they have released hybrid versions of their popular vehicle lines.

Environmental Impact

Hybrid vehicles have become very important in recent years not only in terms of the fuel crisis spanning the world but also of the environmental impact that it causes. Oil refineries are one of the world's largest producers of air pollution and oil spills brought on by large tankers often kill diverse marine and aquatic plant life that has taken millions of years to evolve.

The use of Biodiesel and ethanol tried to solve this problem. Ethanol from corn is very popular but it can also be taken from other vegetable products. It produces considerably less air pollution and emission from the vehicle is almost zero. Environmentalists and biologists call it carbon neutral, the emission from ethanol refineries and vehicle emission equaling only to the nitrogen released into the atmosphere by the natural decay of corn and other vegetable product.

Hybrid Vehicles

A hybrid vehicle uses an electric motor for power and combines that with an internal combustion engine. It increases fuel efficiency and causes less pollution. Depending on the type and model of the hybrid vehicle, it can save you at least 30 percent on fuel cost.

There are three types of hybrid vehicles using the following engine types:

• Mild hybrid engine -- This engine type does not have an electric motor but have an oversized engine starter that will turn off the gas engine during coasting or braking but can instantly turn on when power is needed.

• Full hybrid engine -- This engine types have an electric motor and a combustion engines that can work independently of each other.

• Plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model - uses electricity from any wall outlets that can recharge the battery which acts as back-up for the internal combustion engine.

Why Drive a Hybrid?

Hybrid vehicles, aside from being fuel efficient and cost-effective, are also safe to drive at par with any gasoline-powered automobile. Hybrid vehicles are designed to be one of the safest cars in the market today with airbags and anti-lock brake systems. If alternative fuel, in the form of biodiesel or ethanol is used, the driver can cut further his fuel budget in a month.

Another point in driving a hybrid is the tax rebates made available to the US automobile-buying public. Some states in the US offer tax incentives, tax credits and tax breaks if you purchase a hybrid vehicle. This is part of the program of the government to encourage consumers to purchase cars that can help save the environment as well as solve the fuel crisis in the country.<bio>If you are learning to drive you can practice your theory test at theorytest.co.uk.
If you have are in love with your bike, chances are you will be very, very particular about what sort of exhaust pipes you use. The right ones can make your machine look and feel like a million dollar baby or make it a design nightmare.

The motorcycle exhaust pipe has a very definite role to play in the dynamics of a bike. It directs the gases that come out of the combustion chamber, away from the machine and therefore the rider. Where do these gases come from and why is it important that they be directed away?

The combustion engine in a motorcycle creates a series of explosions that propel the bike forward. Since we are talking of explosive combustion, we are talking of noise and exhaust gases. Now if these gases were thrown out straight from the exhaust port, you would have a problem on your hands. The front tyres would gradually melt under the heat and what's more, your machine would sound like a disgruntled missile.

That is why bike manufacturers design the exhaust pipes carefully. These pipes take the emitted gas away from the exhaust port, pass them through what we call a muffler or a silencer and then throw them away behind the bike, away from the rider. By the time the gases pass out of the exhaust, they have already cooled off and there is little chance of any unwanted combustion.

The technology used to silence the explosive gases is simple. The gases flow at a great speed into the motorcycle exhaust pipes, which are narrow. Then they enter the muffler, which has more space. As the gases expand into the body of the muffler, they slow down and lose some of the sound energy. There are perforated baffles in the muffler that reduce the noise further. So, by the time the gases emerge from the motorcycle exhaust pipes, the noise has been cut down to a reasonable level. It is also important to remember that a good exhaust design can increase the usable power generated by your bike's engine.

Typically, motorcycle exhausts are of two kinds: the full exhaust system and the slip-on system. The full exhaust system connects the pipes to the head of the engine while the slip-on exhaust connects them to the opening where the muffler is. The former is ideal for those who run their machine at full throttle over long distance. The slip on exhaust system is usually used for street bikes. This allows a little more acceleration from the bike. <bio>James Gunaseelan writes articles and reviews for http://BharathAutomobiles.com ,India's No.1 Auto Portal </bio>

The daily problem everybody facing today is the sky rocketing fuel price. But anybody driving their own vehicle cannot avoid it. So it has become a task for each and everyone of us to find out a way to increase or improve our auto gas mileage so that we can save some money on fuel. If you research you will be amazed to find so many different ways to improve auto gas mileage.

Hydrogen boost mileage system is a gas mileage enhancement system that has been developed from a hydrogen gas generator. Hydrogen with other electrolyzed gases accelerates the flame spread during combustion. This process brings fuel to a temperature that allows more injected fuel to vaporize and thereby prepares it for further combustion. Reports claim that this system will improve your gas mileage up to 30 %.

Magnetic type fuel saver will help you to save nearly 25 % of your fuel cost and at the same time improve gas mileage as well. It will also improve the performance of the vehicle. Fuel combustion is done efficiently in many vehicles. This is the reason why we smell petrol or see black fumes from our exhaust pipes. The money we spent on fuel gets wasted due to this. However we have a solution now in the form of the Fuel saver that eliminates the problem of petrol wastage. It breaks down the hard HC molecules and thus offers better combustion. Better auto gas mileage can be achieved by using the Magnetic fuel saver.

Energycel is an amazing product consisting of magnets. It forms a fairly strong magnetic field around the fuel line in your vehicle. This magnetic field will help to pass the gas to the combustion chamber of the engine and thereby improve mileage. It is an eco-friendly product that also clears up the air.

Petromoly is another way to improve auto gas mileage. It is a lubricating engine oil treatment to the vehicle with Molybdenum Disulfide. It not only improves gas mileage but also avoids premature wear and tear of the engine. It has been claimed that Petromoly will improve the gas mileage of a vehicle up to 50 %.

Turbonator is a fuel saver product which is made up of stainless steel. Therefore it is free from any maintenance work. You can easily install it in your vehicle with the screw driver. The turbonator can be installed in the air cleaner or in the air in-take hose depending up on the type of your vehicle. Its dynamic air in flow design helps to improve the air in-take of the vehicle. The users of this product have reasons to claim that it is bound to improve the gas mileage of your vehicle from 10 to 22 %.

Rough driving like speeding or rash driving like stepping on the accelerator and break pedal so hard results in wasting fuel and that causes the decrease in mileage. Smooth and sensible driving improves the auto gas mileage. Usage of overdrive gears help saves fuel and reduces the wear and tear of the engine. You can improve your auto gas mileage by using cruise control while driving on highways. <bio>Jaison Jacob is an article writer and online business owner since 2004.
Years ago, when the subject first came up, the idea of a hydrogen powered car probably seemed unlikely, like something out of a science fiction novel. But now it is a reality as Honda lines up buyers for its first hydrogen fuel cell car, the FCX Clarity.

Over the next couple of years Honda is planning on making just 200 of the hydrogen cars, and they won't be cheap. Expect them to cost a few hundred grand. In addition, Honda is also starting to build the infrastructure to support their technological breakthrough, with three dealerships and fueling stations being built in California to support their customer base. Unsurprisingly, it's mostly celebrities lining up to buy the zero emission cars so California certainly makes the most sense as the home base of Honda's hydrogen autos.

Honda isn't the only company working on hydrogen as a fuel source for cars and trucks. BMW has been on the action for awhile now. The German auto company has gone in a different direction from Honda thoughInstead of creating a hydrogen fuel cell car which converts hydrogen to electricty to run the car (essentially these are electric cars), they've created a car with an internal combustion engine that can either run on liquid hydrogen or gasoline. With only two hydrogen filling stations located in all of Germany, this makes a lot of economical sense, but it must be quite the engineering feat. BMW's hydrogen powered car is called the Hydrogen 7.

Unfortunately, while the BMW Hydrogen 7 is a production ready model rather than a prototype, you can't go to your nearest BMW dealer and buy one, not even if you live in Germany. Instead, BMW has manufactured 100 of the Hydrogen 7 cars and leased them out to various world leaders, celebrities and other famous folk to use. I suppose it is a way of spreading the word about the new hydrogen car with lots of free publicity. It is a sweet looking car though, and the Hydrogen 7 is a V-12. Talk about horsepower!

Like the Honda's FCX Clarity, the BMW Hydrogen 7 is a zero-emissions vehicle when it is running hydrogen. Naturally , it does have emissions when the button is pushed to run the car on gasoline though. But basically, we are talking about a vehicle that not only doesn't produce any CO2 gases or other types of pollution, it even cleans the air around the car (sort of!) What happen is that it pulls in air through the front grille and consumes that during combustion. Then cleaner air exits the tailpipe. Pretty amazing, isn't it?

But lest you think it is only foreign car companies that are creating these new hydrogen cars, General Motors has gotten involved with the technology as well. The GM version of the hydrogen fuel cell car is called the Chevy Equinox. With no internal combustion, the GM Chevy Equinox runs on H2 (Hydrogen) and electricity. GM put 100 of the Chevy Equinox Fuel Cell cars on the road this year, in New York, California and Washington, D.C.<bio>Unless you are a celebrity you won't be able to buy one of these hydrogen cars, but you can increase your own fuel efficiency with hydrogen generators for your car or pick up a PMW Controller from Hydrogen Car Kits</bio>

Solar energy is a renewable source of energy, and has become quite common in areas that have a dependable number of days of sunshine such as California and Arizona. Solar heat collectors can be seen on roofs all over the Southwest of America.

There are many ways to use the sun to generate renewable energy. These can include the generation of electricity through photovoltaic solar cells, the generation of electricity through a concentration of solar power, or the generation of electricity by turbines and a solar updraft tower which traps heated air and thus rotates the turbines.

Solar renewable energy can heat many dwellings and other commercial buildings through a passive solar design. It can heat food with the use of a solar oven, and heat air or water for hot water or heating space with the thermal panels we mentioned earlier. Solar chimneys are also another means of heating and cooling air.

Another renewable energy resource is bio matter, which produces bio fuel. Plants are one example of bio fuel sources. Sugar can give off bio diesel, bagasse and ethanol. These can be burned in boilers or internal combustion engines. The typical method is to burn the bio fuel, thus releasing its chemical energy. Researchers are strenuously working on other ways of converting these bio fuels into electricity, perhaps through such as fuel cells.

Liquid bio fuel is composed of either bio alcohol ethanol is one example or bio oil. Vegetable oil and bio diesel are two examples of the this type of fuel. Bio diesel is used in diesel engines and doesnt require much if any modification to the engine for that to happen. It can be devised from animal and virgin vegetable oil, from waste and from fats also referred to as lipids. Not only can you use virgin vegetable oil in a diesel engine but these engines were actually first designed to run not on fossil fuel but on vegetable oil.

The primary benefit of using renewable bio diesel energy is that its emissions are considerably lower. Carbon monoxide and other harmful hydrocarbon emissions are reduced by 20-40 percent with bio diesel energy. There are areas where farmers grow corn, sugar beets, switch grass, sugar cane and corn stalk for the express purpose of providing energy for fuel cells and combustion engines. These products produce ethanol, otherwise known as grain alcohol, which is becoming more and more common an automotive fuel resource. E85, an automotive fuel, is made up of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline. It is now being sold to the general public.

Future plans, or at least future hopes, for renewable energy include biosynthetic liquid fuel to run our vehicles. The process that would manufacture this would more than likely be a biomass-to-liquid production method, which is also known as Fischer-Tropsch processing, after its founders.

Sugar cane is actually a direct renewable bio fuel energy resource, too. Either the crop is grown specifically for combustion or it is used for other things and the waste that comes from the plant, after processing, is then used for combustion. <bio>James Copper is a writer for http://www.newcareerskills.co.uk/domestic-energy-assessor-training.htm </bio>

Hybrid cars or the hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) are the best solution for the growing fuel shortage problems that we have these days. Most car makers today have resorted to the design and production of hybrid cars in answer to the growing fuel crisis. And because of the ingenuity of the inventions, they are rapidly gaining popularity in the market. Terms such as "Saturn hybrid" and "Toyota hybrid cars" are now becoming ingrained in the lingo of auto enthusiasts.

The Government Supports Hybrid Use

The government for a number of good reasons is supporting hybrid cars. These cars are environmentally-friendly because they emit lesser pollutants. It has been noted that some hybrid cars lower pollution rates by up to 90% as compared to conventional cars.

Another good reason is that they are a wise solution to the growing fuel shortage. They economize fuel consumption, making them double efficient for what they usually provide. This is because most of the kinetic power that was wasted in the traditional fully internal combustion engine is now being converted into useful energy.

Because of these good features, the government offers tax incentives for buying hybrid cars.

Efficient, Low Maintenance and Fuel-Efficient

Hybrid cars need not to be plugged into an electrical outlet when charging the electric motor. They make use of a process called regenerative braking. While the vehicle is running with the use of the internal combustion engine, the electric motor is being charged. In driving situations where internal combustion engines are less efficient (as in slow city driving), the electric motor will take over with minimal intervention from the driver.

Initially, purchasing a hybrid is not easy on the pocket because hybrid car prices are higher than ordinary car prices. But in the long run, they prove to be more economical and they offer more benefits than the traditional cars.

In addition, hybrid cars have lower depreciation rates than traditional cars. Also, unlike traditional cars that run on internal combustion engine, they require lesser maintenance thus greatly reducing cost and trouble of having to owning a vehicle.

Hybrid Models and Car Makers

Aside from sedans, there are also available models of hybrid pickup trucks and hybrid minivans. Not only this, hybrid power technology in the area of public transportation is gaining rapid popularity and it is expected to be available soon in many areas of the transport industry.

Car makers have been competing to offer the market the best of hybrid cars. There are many beautiful models to choose from. The buyer may find it hard to make a decision given the stylish designs, performance and price of the various models. Consumers have a wide selection from low-end to high-end cars; they offer benefits that are worth their price.

Toyota Hybrid Cars

There is a long line of Toyota hybrid cars but car reviews have shown that the Toyota Prius is the undisputed favorite. This hybrid car from Toyota is a real looker. In addition, it has the most efficient miles-per-gallon report.

Honda Hybrid Cars

Honda hybrid cars also compete strongly in design and efficiency. The Honda Civic hybrid is the closest in comparison to the most priced Toyota Prius.

Ford Hybrid Cars

Ford hybrid cars offer their well-regarded Escape model. It has a very sleek design and competitive miles-per-gallon efficiency. The interior of the car employs modern designs. It is very efficient to use. In addition to the existing line of Ford hybrid cars, they are about to launch the model that will compete with Toyota's Prius model.

Saturn Hybrid Cars

"Go green without going broke" is the slogan being touted by the Saturn hybrids. In support of this slogan, they offer good hybrids at lower cost. Their use of "mild hybrid" technology means that they can offer some of the benefits of hybrids without having to increase their selling price all that much.

Convertible Hybrids

While hybrid cars have been widely popular for quite a long time now, hybrid convertibles are on their baby stage as yet. There are not that many models to choose from in the market. Many car enthusiasts have been waiting for the arrival of this type of vehicle on the scene. There is a model launched in the market by Saab.

Whatever model a consumer may choose, green-technology cars such as the Saturn hybrid are better in many ways than the traditional gasoline-guzzling cars. In times when fuel shortage and pollution of the environment are recognized as two of the foremost public issues, the use of this new technology promises to bring a positive contribution. <bio>Ernest Jarquio is a successful Webmaster and publisher of http://www.green-hybrid-cars.com/.
This article about hydrogen hybrid cars discusses how cars can run on hydrogen and fuel cells, but also hybrid batteries, safety, brands and models, and availability.

Introduction

Nowadays, people are aggressively searching for more ways on how they could save on gas. In effect, companies are being pressured to offer something new to consumers other than their conventional cars. This is evident with their notable development of new technologies that are obviously aimed for fuel economy; one of which would be the hydrogen hybrid car.

Combining Two Innovative Technologies

Hydrogen technology and hybrid technology are two different innovations that are used to save gas, increase your vehicle's power and most of all, make your car more environmental friendly in contrast to conventionally fuelled vehicles. Considering each of them are already powerful solely by themselves, just imagine if these two technologies are combined!

Well, here's the good news, manufacturers have been working on hydrogen hybrid cars and they have finally come up with vehicles that support both of the said technologies! So, here are the essentials on what you should know about hydrogen powered hybrid cars.

How Does It Work?

Hydrogen hybrid cars actually make use of fuel cells. Major carmakers, focus on fuel cells, since they say it's more clean and efficient than mere hydrogen internal combustion engines alone. Rather than burning fuel inside the engine, fuel cells would act more like batteries, where they would use electrochemical reaction between oxygen and hydrogen to produce electricity.

One company that is known to develop fuel cells would be Anuvu, which is actually almost prepared to produce large cargo vans and Nissan Frontier pickups that run on hydrogen and fuel cells.

A Deeper Look

What the company is selling are actually hybrid fuel cell vehicles. This kind of vehicle is the kind that utilizes a quite small fuel cell system in order to provide power to an electric motor, which supplies all the heavy work for the vehicle to move. The car is quite similar to gas-electric hybrids, which are currently on the market. However, this time, the vehicle makes use of fuel cells rather than internal combustion engines.

The stack of fuel cells has the ability to recharge the hybrid battery. Nevertheless, the latter could also be recharged simply by plugging it to a wall. Experts consider it to be an electric car that has all advantages that a car of its kind could have minus the disadvantages.

Trouble Shooting

You wouldn't have to worry about hydrogen leaks either. If ever one occurs, hydrogen hybrid car censors would shut down your fuel cell stack. Nevertheless, there's no need to worry since you could still drive your vehicle for another 30 miles simply by using your vehicle's hybrid battery.

Looking At Mazda

On the other hand, Mazda also has their mixed hybrid and hydrogen car to offer. This would be the Mazda 5, which is known as the Premacy Hydrogen Hybrid in Japan. Nevertheless, whatever name you want to call it, this car is actually a concept vehicle. It is a hydrogen minivan in style. They say that it was based on RX-8 Hydrogen RE car. Mazda 5 is a rotary mild-hybrid bi-fuel which is considered to be the first mass-marketed car of its kind.

The Specs

This car actually runs using both compressed hydrogen gas and gasoline. All you have to do is just press a button on its dashboard and you would transform this minivan to a green vehicle. Press again to change back again whenever you need more distance to be covered.

It introduces a gasoline / bi-fuel hydrogen internal combustion engine. This solves one of the major infrastructure issues circling around where users could buy hydrogen when fuel stations still dominate the main scene. By doing this, hydrogen manufacturers and distributors would be given the incentive and chance to take their distribution network to a massive scale.

This hydrogen hybrid car's rotary engine and hybrid unit are transversely mounted in front of the car having a layout for a front-wheel drive. Additionally, it has a high-voltage battery underneath its 2nd row of seats. The gasoline tank is also near the high-voltage battery, while you can find the hydrogen tank next to the back seats. This kind of arrangement provides you a roomy and comfortable interior. It also gives you excellent driving performance along with environmental benefits.<bio>John S. Rhodes talks more about hydrogen hybrid cars at Hybrid Cars, Hybrid Trucks and Hybrid Vans found at http://HybridCarsTrucksVans.com He also discusses hybrid motorcycles and hybrid minivans at that site, offering videos and advice on hybrid batteries and hybrid rental vehicles.</bio>

With the increasing prices of fuel and emissions, along with pollution threatening the existence of human existence, green cars and the greening of cars has become a priority of governments and car companies today.

Green cars are environmentally friendly cars. They are less polluting than the traditional all petroleum internal combustion engines. They use bio fuel made from plants to reduce the consumption of petroleum. Hybrid cars run partly on petroleum and partly on other non fossil fuels. Non fossil fuels used to make hybrid fuels are distilled from plant refuse or vegetable oils and a smaller quantity of petroleum. Today, hybrid cars are more expensive than cars that use a petroleum combustible engine but the long term game in fuel costs are likely to be considerable.

The benefits of driving cars are that they are environmentally friendly and spew few pollutants into the air thus preventing possible environmental disasters like global warming and the greenhouse effect. Using hybrid cars is good for human health. Breathing the fumes from these cars are less harmful than breathing in the fumes of vehicles that use petroleum engines. The EPA advocates the greening of cars with its, 'Smartway' and 'Smartway Elite' program. Hybrid cars are highly priced because of the cost involved in making the engines. The cars make up the high cost with fuel savings, pollution prevention, and an easy way to shut down combustion in places where the traffic is idle and where pure petroleum cars emit the maximum fumes. The only downside to hybrid cars is their lack of acceleration and speed. In some ways this lack of speed makes hybrid cars less dangerous on the road.

The first alternative renewable fuel added to petroleum to make cars more fuel efficient was ethanol. It met with some success in Brazil in the eighties and later all countries began hybridizing fuel by adding ethanol to petroleum for greater fuel efficiency in cars. Ethanol has not become an alternative to petroleum and the energy used in making ethanol is often more than the output it gives.

Bio diesel is the other alternative fuel which is used for heavy duty vehicles for greater fuel efficiency. Biodeisel is made from rapeseed and soy oil. Both these sources of fuel are renewable vegetable based fuel. The benefit of using biodeisel is that it is both a fuel and lubricant that helps to maintain the engine better. Biodeisel produces more power than many other forms of alternate energy. The only drawback with biodeisel engines is that they stall if the fuel becomes cold. Biodeisel engines easily absorb water which is bad for the proper working of the engine.

New technologies are being evolved by car companies every day. Gasoline turbocharged direct injection engines are the new technology that gives nearly as much output as a petroleum combustion engine. New forms of diesel are being developed from household refuse and rubber automobile tires. Petroleum alternatives for fuelling green cars are the focus of ongoing research and development in the automobile industry. The future of all automobiles of every size and shape is looking very green.<bio>Car Carrier in San Antonio San Antonio Auto Shipping</bio>

These days, you will find new cars with the latest incorporated engine technology. The engine of a car has undergone a massive change, right from the age old carburetor to the Engine Control Unit (ECU). In the 19th century, when the first single-cylinder petrol engine driver car came into force, it was the "Carburetor" that came into existence. Later on, multi cylinder engines were considered as a new thing. Finally, in the early 80's we got a new car system, consisting of controlled -- feeding of fuel, air and ignition spark to the ICE cylinders. It was the fuel-injection system that was born, which replaced the century old carburetors. In a multi point fuel injection system, it injects fuel into individual cylinders. The injection of the fuel takes place on the basis of the commands from the "on board engine management system" computer. This computer is known as the engine control unit or the ECU.

The main process based job of an engine control unit (ECU) is to control the various features of an internal combustion engine's operation. Earlier, the ECU that was fitted in most of the cars and had their engine parameters fixed. Also, the carburetor would determine the required quantity of fuel per cylinder/per engine cycle. In other words, the simple version of the ECU'S would control only the quantity of fuel injected into each cylinder, at each engine cycle. The advanced types of engine control unit (ECU), which are fitted on most modern cars, are capable of controlling the ignition timing, variable value timing (VVT) and other peripherals.

The ECU'S (Engine control unit) monitors the engine by using sensors so that it can gather information about the cars quantity of fuel, ignition timing and other such parameters. The ECU works according to the input data that it gets from the various sensors that are located within the engine. The various types of sensors that are fitted all over the engine are MAP sensor, throttle position sensor, air temperature sensor, oxygen sensor and many more. The sensors incorporated within the engine, are basically used to determine the various "operating states of the engine and its performance. These sensors monitor's various aspects such as the ambient air temperature, engine/coolant temperature, exhaust /main fold temp, exhaust O2 content, throttle position, the rpm of the engine, the vehicle road speed and crankshaft position. The ECU (Engine Control Unit) uses the closed --loop control method, where it monitors the output of a system in order to control the inputs to a system. Since, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) gathers data from various different sensors, it knows all about the coolant temperature to the amount of oxygen in the exhaust. On the basis of this available data, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) starts performing huge calculations every second. On the bases of the programmed interpretation of all the available input data, the ECU ( Engine Control Unit) will deliver the required commands to the engine's fuel intake and spark ignition timings system and thus help in bringing out a satisfactory performance of the car's engine.<bio>Summer Road Trips And Rental CarsRenting Cars For Road Trips</bio>

So you're thinking of getting an electric car? Well, one of the first things you need to do before getting one is to learn a few basic things about these vehicles -- especially with regards to how they run and where they get their power. And like all things electric, an electric car relies on an independent power source -- the battery.

A normal car (powered by an internal combustion engine) only needs the battery to start the engine as well as run the air conditioning system and the car stereo. That isn't the case with electric cars. In fact, the battery used in electric cars runs about everything. When electric cars were first introduced, the primary concern was (and still is) the quality and reliability of the electric car battery, i.e. how long can the battery last before it needs to be recharged. Fortunately, the last few decades has produced significant improvements on how electric car batteries are made. Now we already have nickel metal hydride (NiMH), lead-acid and lithium-ion (Li-ion) types that are rechargeable and readily available in the market.

Compared to normal car batteries, how do electric car batteries fare? Here's a look at the benefits:

Cost-effectiveness. For five bucks worth of electricity, your electric car can run for more than 300 kilometers. Now if you do the math and compare that with your current gas costs and equivalent mileage, you'll see that going electric can be quite economic in the long run.

Cleaner and Greener. Although you still need to burn fossil fuels in order to generate the electricity needed to recharge electric car batteries, the pollution produced is very minimal compared to the pollution caused by internal combustion engines. Plus, with better power generation sources like nuclear plants, the level of carbon emissions in the process of recharging becomes even lesser.

Re-usability. Electric car batteries can be reused and recycled. So you don't need to worry about how you can dispose of your battery pack.

However, like any new technology, electric car batteries are not perfect. Here are the drawbacks:

They're heavy. Because electric car batteries are designed to provide more power, they need to be connected to battery packs to ensure heavy duty performance. And these battery packs are not light. A battery pack can weigh as much as half a metric ton. But don't worry, there's hope -- manufacturers are designing electric cars with lighter body frames to offset the battery's weight.

Recharging time. Unfortunately, there's no technology available yet for quicker and easier recharging. You still need several hours of downtime before your electric car can run again.

Maintenance. Electric car batteries are still uncommon, which means the number of service stations which can do repairs is still fairly limited, too. And since they're quite fewer, maintenance costs might be a bit higher, too.

No doubt, electric car batteries are still a work in progress. It has its own set of limitations but there's still plenty of room for improvement. But in a few years, the new generation of batteries will be lighter, more economical and most importantly, more powerful. That's certainly a comforting thought.<bio>Guile Canencia is a writer and researcher for the IBC Japan Team.
Have you ever caught yourself wondering if there was an effective way for you to increase your fuel efficiency in an environment of ever increasing petroleum prices? The fact of the matter is that car companies are both going to make you pay if you want to save money. You could invest in an efficient hybrid vehicle, but chances are you are not willing to pay a thousand of dollars in premiums for long-term savings in gas prices. On the other hand, you could utilize premium fuel, but the savings in efficiency will be negated by the extra high price tag. So, is there a viable solution for the average consumer who is suffering at the pump? Yes there is. It is time you understood how a hydrogen fuel kit can help you save gas.

You may be scratching your head wondering what a hydrogen fuel kit is and more importantly if it can really help you save gas. In order to understand the viability of the hydrogen fuel kit as a fuel efficiency increasing device, you first need to know what it is and what it does. Only then can you attempt to understand how it will increase your fuel savings at the pump.

Firstly, a hydrogen fuel kit is essentially an on board device that generates hydrogen on demand. The source of the hydrogen is water. The way hydrogen is extracted from the water is via electrolysis, which involves running an electrical current from the alternator of your vehicle through the water reservoir which will split the water atoms, releasing hydrogen and oxygen. This gas, which is a mixture of oxygen and hydrogen is then transferred via a tube to the air intake and is drawn into the engine along with the air. It is within the conduction chamber of the engine that the hydrogen fuel kit affects the burning patterns of your fuel and increases your efficiency.

So, how exactly can using vehicle power to split water into hydrogen and oxygen, and then feeding these gases into your combustion chamber possibly increase your fuel efficiency? The secret lies in the fact that the average internal combustion engine is exceedingly inefficient. It is because of this inefficient extraction of energy from your expensive fuel that the on board hydrogen fuel kit can help you save gas. The new gas savings occur because by feeding hydrogen into your fuel air mix, you will increase the efficiency of the burning of fuel itself. More than 50% of your fuels power is lost in the form of heat, vibration, and non-burnt fuel. It is from this 50% deficit in efficiency which you are drawing the extra gas efficiency by enhancing the burning of the fuel. When more of your gas is utilized due to the inclusion of hydrogen, your car can run on a leaner fuel air ratio.

Installing a hydrogen fuel kit into your car is a cheap, cost-saving way of helping the environment. It is the ultimate win-win situation in a petrol dependent world that is hungry for an answer to the ongoing energy crisis.<bio>Click Here to learn how to run your car on water today. Many so-called SEO experts will attempt to make sure that all your meta tags are in place, even though they have little bearing any more on your search engine rank, be that on Google, Yahoo, MSN or Ask.

They might even have a look at your internal linking, but once you have built your website it is too late for that. There are ways to design a site to be search engine friendly, and I use them all the time.

The very first two websites I tried these techniques on each reached page #1 on Google for their main keyword within less than a month. They were listed within two days due to other techniques I use, but their high listings were due to the site design. I then designed a third, and true to form, it reached page #1.

You want that success as well, and it is not difficult to achieve. However, it involves starting from the bottom up, although there is a lot that you can do with your existing website apart from just playing around with meta tags. I am not suggesting that you shouldn't make sure that you have meta descriptions and a title tag in your html, but they are nothing like as significant as the changes I make to my websites to improve their search engine ranking. Not even close!

There are a number of changes you can make to improve your search engine position, ranging from your internal linking to the way you lead the spiders around your site. Just ask yourself one simple question: what determines your search engine rank on Google? How does Google calculate your search engine position? That's the first thing you have to learn if you want to improve yours. You have to know your enemy to beat him.

It's not only links, as many would have you believe, or I would never have achieved a Page 1 position so quickly. In fact of my two main websites, one is at ~1 and the other at #2 for their main keyword: the titles of their first page. I achieved that by using a silo structure in my website design, but not only that. Many people use silos without achieving high search engine ranking.

I added a little more, and made sure that the search engine spiders moved from one section of my home page to another, exactly as I wanted them to, before leaving for the next page at exactly the point I wanted it to. It's not difficult, and you can do it too. In fact anybody can get a top search engine ranking, or improve their search engine position (everybody can't be top!), with just a little thought, and by using a couple of simple rules when designing their web pages.

One of these is by using a silo structure, and the other is by careful use of their html, and of their internal links.<bio>If you want to learn how I achieve my high search engine ranking positions, visit SEOcious where I will show by means of screenshots of my html exactly what I do, and also how I lead search engine spiders as though they were on a lead.</bio>
