One reason car insurance prices continue to rise in New Jersey as well as the rest of America is insurance fraud. Insurance fraud makes it necessary for car insurance companies -- and all insurance companies, for that matter -- to raise their rates in order to compensate for the money being paid for illegal insurance claims.

You can help yourself, and your fellow New Jersey drivers, to keep car insurance prices down and help maintain cheap car insurance in New Jersey by educating yourself about insurance fraud.

What is insurance fraud?

A person commits insurance fraud when he or she gives his or her car insurance company false information while filing an insurance claim. For example, if you crashed into a telephone poll, and claimed you had a friend in the vehicle with you who sustained injuries, your friend could collect money from your insurance company to compensate for the injuries. You two could split the money and have a fun night. However, that friend was never in the car, so it's fraud.

How does insurance fraud affect me?

As a New Jersey driver, insurance fraud affects you when car insurance companies have to keep hiking up their premiums. You end up paying more money to compensate for the crimes committed by others.

Do those who commit insurance fraud walk away wealthier?

Well, the sad truth is that if they don't get caught, they do walk away with some extra money in their pockets. However, if the do get caught committing insurance fraud in New Jersey, they face losing their driver's licenses, paying fines of up to $15,000 per incident, and jail time.

What should I do if I know of an insurance fraud incident? To help keep cheap car insurance in New Jersey, you can report any incidents of insurance fraud by calling (877) 55-FRAUD. All information about yourself is kept anonymous and the fraud information you provide is kept confidential <bio>http://www.ezquoteguide.com/car/ http://www.myquoteguide.com/car-teen.shtml </bio>

Do you know anyone who's been involved in an automobile accident and suddenly needed to wear a neck brace everywhere...except when no one else is around? Do you know anyone who's been injured on the job and, while he can't make it to work, can still accept his best friend's invitation for a weekend of skiing? These people are cheating insurance companies, and cheating insurance companies, also known as insurance fraud, is illegal.

Sadly, cheating insurance companies is a fairly common practice. People cheat other people's insurance companies by suing for injuries that didn't occur; hence the need for the neck brace. People cheat their own insurance companies, or the insurance companies of their employers such as worker's compensation, when they claim to be too injured to work but are actually well enough to do everything else.

People who cheat insurance companies aren't just cheating the insurance companies; they're also cheating everyone else who owns an insurance policy through that income. You see, insurance companies are so fed up with, and drained by, those who cheat them that the cost of insurance policies raises. That means while these people are busy cheating insurance companies, honest people are busy spending more money on insurance than they should have to spend.

Since cheating insurance companies has become such a fairly common practice, many insurance companies are cracking down by investigating the "injuries" much more thoroughly than ever. Some insurance companies hire private investigators to keep surveillance on those they think may be cheating their company. This can be a pretty effective way of cutting down on insurance fraud since most people don't expect an insurance company to go out of its way and fork over even more cash to have them investigated. Therefore, the people who are actually cheating the insurance companies freely enjoy their newfound money or free paychecks and make it much easier for the insurance companies to bust them. <bio>http://www.myquoteguide.com/Student-Health.shtml http://www.ezquoteguide.com/home/ Wisconsin Car Insurance </bio>

In order to obtain affordable health insurance in Virginia, you must become a smart, conscientious consumer. Take these tips into consideration before you commit yourself to any health insurance program in Virginia.

Avoid scams. Insurance fraud can go both ways; not all health insurance companies or agents have your best interest in mind. Many health insurance companies or agents are interested only in obtaining money from you. These companies are usually fly-by-night companies. To avoid these scams, contact the Virginia Bureau of Insurance and ask if the health insurance company in question is licensed to do business in Virginia. If not, move on. If so, you will be protected against fraud should the company scam you.

Be aware of what you are purchasing. If the company or agent tells you it's health insurance, it's health insurance. If the company or agent tells you it's a health care savings or discount plan, it's not insurance. The two are not the same, so if you are looking for affordable health insurance in Virginia, you do not want to purchase a discount plan. Discount plans may help you save money, but they do not provide the same coverage as insurance plans.

Pay the Virginia health insurance company. Paying the insurance company directly and requesting a receipt helps you protect yourself and your health insurance coverage. If the Virginia health insurance agent does not want you to send payment directly to the health insurance company, you should contact the health insurance company immediately.

Take note of the way the health insurance is purchased. It is possible to find affordable health insurance in Virginia via the Internet, telephone, and radio, television, and newspaper advertisements, but the very solid and reputable health insurance companies do not usually try to attract customers with flashy gimmicks. Keep your eyes and ears open for showy and loud advertisements, and take caution with those health insurance companies that use them. <bio>http://www.ezquoteguide.com/health/ http://www.ezquoteguide.com/car-new-jersey.shtml </bio>

Most major credit card issuers now offer their members a variety of different free insurance programs. It is highly recommended that you review the insurance terms of your credit card agreement as in certain circumstances the credit card insurance offered by your card issuer may cover situation beyond those you may originally have thought.

The major credit card insurance programs offered include:

Purchase protection

If you purchase a product on your credit card that is later damaged, lost or stolen, you should be able to reclaim all or part of the purchase price cost from the insurance policy. Not only is this a useful protection to have if you purchase expensive or fragile products, but can also be a very good additional insurance to any home contents insurance policy you have.

Fraud protection

Policy covers you should you be the victim of fraudulent use of your card. With the rise of identity theft, and the ever increasing Internet fraud taking place, this policy not only covers the traditional fraud methods but should also cover you for any Internet or telephone fraud.

Stolen card protection

Provided you report your card stolen at the first opportunity you have once you have become aware of your card's theft, this policy should reimburse you for any transactions processed on your card following your last genuine transaction.

Price protection

Not offered by all card providers, basically this policy will reimburse you the difference between the price you paid for a product and the cheaper price of the same product you later found elsewhere.

Travel insurance

If you purchase your holiday on your credit card there are two useful beneficial insurances you should check to see if you have. The first is a cancellation policy, which covers you in the event that you need to cancel your holiday between the period of purchasing the holiday and the date of travel.

The second is holiday accident insurance, which should cover you in the event that you have an accident -- including emergency accident evacuation - or are killed on holiday. Both of these are very useful to have as they can be a considerable extra on your holiday travel expenses if purchased independently.

Obviously all of the above credit card insurance schemes are subject to time and monetary limitations, so make sure you check these out. Additionally, you should also make sure that any purchases or use of your credit cards outside of the country of issue are also covered by the policy -- as, in some cases, they are not. <bio>Joe Kenny writes for the credit card comparison sites http://www.creditcards121.com and also http://www.cardguide.co.uk </bio>

As cold-hearted as it may sound, marriage is often a way to ensure that a person has health insurance. By marrying an individual who has health insurance through his or her employer, the new spouse can typically be covered by that health insurance, as well. Even though it's usually considered insurance fraud, which makes it illegal, many people enter into marriage just to have health insurance. Many people also attempt to hang on to, or work through, a failing marriage for the sole purpose of hanging onto the health insurance they receive from their spouse's employer.

You don't have to hang onto a failing marriage, nor do you have to get married, just to ensure you'll have health insurance. You can purchase an individual health insurance policy of your own. Sure, individual health insurance policy rates are usually more expensive than the group insurance policy rates paid by employees who buy into their employer's health insurance package, but wouldn't you rather pay a little more for your own health insurance policy than hang onto a marriage in which you're unhappy, just to have a health insurance policy you don't have to pay for? And, on that note, aren't you paying for the health insurance anyway, by compromising your happiness and staying in a failing marriage just for your spouse's health insurance policy?

We all know health insurance is important, but marrying for health insurance, or staying in an unhappy marriage for health insurance, isn't the answer. You can shop around for an individual health insurance policy that is going to meet both your health and your financial needs. It may take time, but there are many health insurance companies out there that offer individual health insurance policies. Look into several health insurance companies, talk to several health insurance agents, and you will find one that will work for you.
Click fraud is one of the biggest issues in the pay per click industry right now. It's easy to understand why, too -- click fraud costs advertisers money, but gives no return. It cuts deep into profit margins, and in some cases, may be the difference between making money and losing money.

Click fraud is, at its simplest, clicks on ads that are not generated by a real person interested in making a purchase. Click fraud can come from many different sources:

Click bots, which are robots designed to click on ads, are one source. Click bots are often run by an affiliate of the PPC search engine.

Competitors may click on your ads to try to drive your cost up.

Click schemes are programs people join to click on ads for each other. Usually these people are affiliates of the PPC search engines.

Combating click fraud can be tough. One of the easiest ways to combat click fraud is to not advertise on search engines who deliver lower quality traffic. This factor is easily determined with conversion rates. If one search engine's traffic converts at 2 percent, and traffic from the second search engine converts at 1 percent, you know the traffic from the second search engine is half the quality. Click fraud is likely one of the factors involved.

In addition to such basic tracking mechanisms, you can use more advanced tracking mechanisms to try to catch click fraud. For example, you could use a script that you would gather data on visitors from PPC search engines (data might include IP address, number of times they clicked on the ad, and time they spent on the site) and use that data to pick out suspicious visitors. You can then submit the data to the search engine and request a refund on the traffic.

Click fraud is probably the biggest problem in the PPC industry, and you can work to save yourself some money by combating click fraud. <bio>Bespoke click fraud detection and protection software from Evolution Internet Ltd: http://www.evolution-internet.com/147/prevent-click-fraud.aspx </bio>

Don't let your search for affordable life insurance in the state of Connecticut make you vulnerable to fraud. If you are contacted to purchase a life insurance policy and then immediately sell it, think twice. You may be the target of an insurance fraud.

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners and the Connecticut Insurance Department want policyholders to be aware that the sale of life insurance policies are being perpetrated illegally.

A little background: Insurance companies provide for the selling of life insurance policies. There are two types of sales and they are called life settlements and viatical settlements.

=95 Life Settlement occurs when the owner of a life insurance policy sells it to a third party. The third party now becomes the owner/beneficiary of the policy. The new owner must pay the premiums and thus will collect the benefit when the original policy owner dies (as the original policy owner is still the `insured').

=95 Viatical Settlement: Viatical settlement is similar to the life settlement, except the original policyholder is terminally ill.

Why, you may ask, would anyone sell his or her life insurance policy? There are many reasons; one of them being financial. If the insured is running into financial difficulty, they may sell the policy to a third party for the cash reward. This is a legal practice and these policies may be sold through a life insurance broker. The third party (buyer) pays the brokers commission.

Rather than selling a policy, policyholders can exercise the accelerated death benefit provision of their policy, which could pay a substantial amount of the policy's death benefit. Additionally, the cash value of a life policy can be used as security in obtaining a loan from a bank or financial institution.

Don't let unscrupulous people talk you into purchasing a life policy and immediately selling it. If this does occur, it is important to contact the Connecticut Insurance Department immediately. Do not become a victim. <bio>Recommended sites for low rate insurance http://www.ezquoteguide.com Affordable Life Insurance Quotes in Connecticut http://www.myquoteguide.com/Term-Pros.shtml Cheap Term Life Quotes Online </bio>

Finding low cost health insurance in the Commonwealth of Virginia does not mean you have to be eligible for a group health insurance plan through your employer, nor does it mean you have to qualify for Medicaid or state-sponsored health care services. Virginia residents in search of affordable health care can purchase individual health insurance plans.

Because individual health insurance plans can be expensive =96 which isn't exactly the equivalent of "low cost" =96 you want to make sure you are getting exactly your money's worth. Take these tips into consideration when shopping for an individual health insurance plan in the Commonwealth of Virginia:

=95 Make sure the health carriers and insurance agents selling individual health insurance policies are licensed to sell health insurance in Virginia =96 if you purchase health insurance from a company or agent not licensed to do business in Virginia, you will find it difficult to obtain protection against fraud.

=95 Don't lie and don't risk it. If you know a particular health insurance company won't insure you because of a pre-existing medical condition, don't lie about that condition in order to get low cost health insurance. You'll only be cheating yourself, because you still won't have coverage for the health issue. Wouldn't you rather feel safe in knowing you're covered should complications arise?

=95 Don't give up. If one health insurance company denies you medical coverage, move on to the next company. Each individual health insurance company follows different standards and criteria for offering health insurance =96 whatever the price. Just because you are not eligible for one company's policy does not mean you will not be eligible for another company's policy.

Many people cringe when they think about purchasing an individual health insurance policy; however, by shopping around and being honest with several different health carriers and insurance agents in the Commonwealth of Virginia, you will find the low cost health insurance plan that is right for you. <bio>http://ezquoteguide.com/health/ Low Cost Health Insurance http://www.myquoteguide.com/Best-Health.shtml Free Individual Medical Insurance Quotes </bio>

Globally credit card fraud costs card issuers billions of dollars a year in fraudulent use of their cards. Some of this loss is passed back to retailers who failed to comply with the normal processing method for the card. Another part of the loss is insured. Nonetheless, as a cardholder you are potentially liable for any fraudulent use of your credit card. It is, therefore, imperative that you make yourself aware of what the current fraud scams are and how you can help to in the battle of credit card fraud prevention.

To this end, the following are some fraud prevention methods you can adopt:

* when using your card, never card out of your sight * if you use the card in an old carbon-copy paper machine, keep the carbon-copy and destroy it later * never use your credit card on an unsecured website * never use your credit card to withdraw money in an ATM

Aside from the above, ensuring that you use certain technological advances with your credit card should also help in any credit card fraud prevention. In this regard, the following are currently popular with card issuers:

* identification photos: where your picture is shown on the front of the card * fingerprinting: where a facsimile of your fingerprint is shown on the reverse of your card; * chip and Pin systems: where the card has an encrypted chip containing details about the card and a PIN that ensures the card is a genuine issue. Essentially the chip contains the same information that used to be contained in the magnetic strip on the reverse of the card, but in chip format it is believed to be harder to copy.

Although each of these systems is no foolproof credit card fraud prevention method, with credit card fraud costing more and more each year, you can bet that issuers are going to be tackling this issue head-on: so stay aware of the latest credit card fraud preventions methods and help combat this growing problem. <bio>Joe Kenny writes for the personal finance sites http://www.cardguide.co.uk and also http://www.ukpersonalloanstore.co.uk </bio>

Finding affordable health insurance in Wisconsin can be a breeze; however, when you are making a purchase as important as health insurance, it is important to protect yourself against fraud. Unfortunately, not all health insurance companies are honest; some "health insurance companies" are not even companies at all.

If your goal is finding affordable health insurance in Wisconsin, look for the following warning signs; they will let you know that the health insurance company or agent in question should be avoided.

Avoid a health insurance company that is very boastful, or seems too confident for your comfort level. If the company does indeed offer coverage for much lower than any other health insurance company in Wisconsin, there may be some kind of scam in progress. It may be very limited coverage, or there may be hidden fees.

Health insurance companies in Wisconsin that claim to offer deals for a limited time or savings for purchasing a health care plan immediately are suspicious. Most health insurance companies in Wisconsin have set rates for specific criteria. They do not normally offer "one time deals" to lure customers.

Close the door or hang up the phone on companies that refuse to provide you with informational forms, pamphlets, or brochures. You should find these in the office, or the company should be willing to mail them to you. Written documentation of what the company offers is essential -- period.

Only do business with health insurance companies that are licensed to sell insurance in Wisconsin in order to help protect yourself against scams. The company should have proof of this license; ask to see it. If the company refuses, move on.

Reputable health insurance companies in Wisconsin will provide you with a variety of payment options. Any Wisconsin health insurance company that only allows bank account withdrawals or cash payments seemingly want the money immediately or without proof that you have paid. Does that sound trustworthy? <bio>http://www.ezquoteguide.com/health/ http://www.ezquoteguide.com/car-new-jersey.shtml </bio>

This day and age, credit card fraud is very common. Victims of credit card fraud often experience a lot of hassle and stress. If you have a credit card, you should always be aware of the security features that is included with the card. If you are looking to get a credit card, you should always make sure that it offers plenty of security.

With credit card companies all over the United States, credit card fraud is becoming more and more common. Consumers are becoming more and more aware of the situation, and always look for ways to protect themselves. Many companies that offer credit cards are looking into other methods of security, to prevent credit card fraud from happening.

The best way to protect yourself against fraud is to check the monthly credit card statements you receive. By looking at your statements, you'll easily be able to tell if your account has suffered any type of fraud.

If you notice any type of fraudulent charges, you should instantly contact your credit card company and inform them. This way, they look into it and try to retrieve the money that was illegally stolen from you.

Another way that you protect yourself from fraud is to never reply to emails that may appear to be sent by your bank or credit card company. There are a lot of fake emails going around, that will steal your information should you enter it in. You should always use caution with emails, and reply only if you know that the email was indeed sent from your bank or credit card provider.

You can also protect yourself from fraud by keeping your credit card around you at all times. When you hand it to someone to make a payment, ensure that it is given back to you promptly. You should also keep it safe from others so they can't view your information. When you carry your credit card with you, you should always keep it in a safe place, such as your wallet. This way, you don't have to worry about it falling out.

There are always steps that you can take, to avoid falling into the trap of thieves and criminals. Criminals are always out there, looking for ways that they can steal your credit card information. Therefore, it's up to you to protect yourself. Get up to $200,000 to "move" your existing business.
Why Insurance Agents Should Offer Identity Theft Protection Service

Statistics in print, online and other media show that identity theft has become a major topic of discussion over the past few years. In fact, the figures regarding the costs and time involved in identity theft =96 both for businesses and individuals is almost staggering. With this in mind, a new type of insurance has been established as a result. And it's known as personal identity theft insurance.

Personal Identity Theft Insurance Coverage

Here are some of the main points covered by personal identity theft insurance. Check with insurance agents in our area for more details and to see what's covered in your area.

1) At this point in time, personal identity theft insurance basically averages between $25 and $50 per year. It mainly covers up to around a sum total of $15,000 through $25,000 worth of expenses, including some lost wages that may result from time taken off work to handle the identity theft-related fraud issues. However, coverage incurred for this benefit most often will not surpass $500 in a week's time plus it is more often than not limited to four weeks in full of total coverage.

2) Some attorney fees may also be included in this coverage, so check accordingly with insurance agents / providers. They'll also have limits, if this is covered.

3) Some insurance coverage for personal identity theft may also extend to long distance fees, notary fees and certified postal mailing costs for the competing and delivering of fraud affidavits so that they go to the right parties involved.

4) Some additional fees that may be required when reapplying for new installment and other loans plus new credit cards, even for accounts that were possibly turned down earlier because of the fraudulent credit information may also be covered, at least to a certain extent with identity theft insurance.

Note that while personal identity theft coverage is in itself not an actual `fix' for your credit record, history or criminal record, it does help pay for many expenses associated with the fix for you in time, help, money and reaching out to clear things up. Overall, the insurance for identity theft will most often cover expenses totaling up to and not exceeding $1,000. But every little bit helps! And to many, $1,000 can represent a huge chunk of time and money, especially when your know upfront that the chips will be down: i.e. that you'll be bummed, busy trying to juggle your regular daily activities while being right smack in the middle of chaotic theft.

Take steps to safeguard your private and personal information.

Help reach out to others you know to alert them to this info for their safety. Print out helpful articles like this and share copies with others, even emailing them as well to help others stay safe online and off.

Also bookmark helpful sites and blogs and subscribe to them. This will help you stay advised of alerts and updates regarding identity theft issues and topics are also great ideas.

So know you know why insurance agents should offer Identity Theft Protection Service.
In recent years with the advent of technology and the internet there has been increased focus of privacy and identity theft but this is nothing new. Theft and fraud has always been a constant threat but especially in our society where your credit is everything and everything can be bought on some form of credit. And the largest form of credit most people have is their home mortgage. But what if the mortgage you have is not even yours and on a property you did not know even existed. This is mortgage fraud and it can happen to anyone.

There are many different types of real estate and mortgage fraud. Basically you can identify them as either a fraud to make a profit, or a fraud to get the property. Regardless of which it is a fraud is committed when falsifying of records occur in some way. In this article we will take a look at a few of the different types of real estate and mortgage frauds.

One of the most common types of fraud committed in the real estate and mortgage industry is on the loan application itself. It is not unusual for the applicant to increase their income or lie about their job.

They might even lie about where they got the down payment. It is not unusual for the down payment to actually come from the person selling the home themselves. These are all examples of loan application fraud.

One area where fraud can be committed and is hard to prove is on the appraisal itself. You could have two different appraisals just from the appraiser themselves.

There are so many things that are subject to interpretation on an appraisal. The problem can come because the appraiser themselves feels pressure from the buyer, seller, and the real estate agent trying to come up with a number that satisfies everyone can create a fraud situation.

Today there are so many different levels of credit that it can become imperative to a buyer that they obtain a fake credit report. Trying to clean up their credit report can be the difference in qualifying for mortgage loan or not.

On the loan it self there could be various things that are not true. Another area that can really affect the approval loan is the income level of the applicants. It's not uncommon to list false income and even come up with documents to back that up when in fact, they really are not true. This is creating fraud against the mortgage company.

One thing that is used to document income is tax returns and today these are very easy to forge as well. The Internet makes it simple to go in and doctor your tax returns to come up with a different copy than what was actually sent to the IRS.

There are many other different types of real estate mortgage fraud. Some of these have been flipping situations, equity skimming, and the pretend homeowner loan. Regardless of how it's done real estate and mortgage fraud is illegal, and can be punishable by large fines and prison time.<bio>Aaron Adida is a mortgage specialist who specializes in construction loan feasibility for ConstructionRenoLoans.com.
Many businesses find themselves in an unfortunate position. They find that assets are missing, that the books have not been kept accurately or that bribes have been taken. Other businesses are learning from these mistakes and are electing to perform a fraud investigation on their own.

A fraud investigation might be conducted in order to determine:

whether or not there has been a sale of assets that were either misrepresented or fictitious;

whether or not improper payments =96 kickbacks, illegal political donations, bribes, or payoffs =96 have been made from within the company;

whether or not there has been some sort of intentional misrepresentation or assets, liabilities, transactions or income;

whether or not there have been intentional pricing changes created to benefit the business financially;

whether or not items have been deliberately left off the books; or

whether or not tax fraud has occurred.

In some cases, a fraud investigation is conducted by an auditor from within the company =96 an auditor who oversees the financial departments. In other cases, a fraud investigation may be conducted by external auditor, a financial analyst who is brought in for the purpose of reviewing the books.

In other cases, a fraud investigation may be handled by a private investigator. A private investigator may be brought in to conduct a fraud investigation to determine which asset was transferred improperly or to establish which employee may have defrauded the organization.

This can be done through deeper background checks to determine whether there are employees who had access to the assets who also have a criminal record. A private investigator can also conduct background checks into employees' credit histories, judgments and liens, even federal and civil records to determine whether or not red flags are present.

Often, a private investigator is called in to perform a fraud investigation after fraud has been discovered. He or she will be hired by the business to conduct full background searches on all employees who may have been involved in misrepresenting assets, making improper payments, leaving items off the books or even embezzling.

In addition to a fraud investigation, a private investigator is likely to work with the business' executives to determine a plan for preventing fraud in the future. This may involve examining the policies and procedures that are currently in place. It may also involve implementing surveillance through cameras or by tracking programs installed on office computers.

By creating a fraud prevention strategy and by conducting a fraud investigation, a private investigator can help to put your business back on the right track.

Perhaps your business has not always taken the time to conduct thorough background investigations of applicants before hiring. Perhaps you are hoping that your business still has the opportunity to prevent fraud. Maybe you've been unfortunate however and fraud has already taken place. Regardless of your situation, a fraud investigation can help to ensure that you are fully aware of what is taking place.

When that fraud investigation is conducted by a private investigator, you can also take measures to protect your business from future instances of fraud. <bio>David Almeida is a licensed private investigator with a degree in criminal justice.
Georgia real estate properties translate into fraud opportunities and baits for many unscrupulous individuals trying to lure prospective buyers and victims in the Georgian landscape. From 2002 to 2005, Georgia is a consistent topnotcher among mortgage and real estate fraud cases in the US documented by TPG or The Prieston Group. It is therefore not surprising that despite the beauty of Georgian properties, the real estate industry of Georgia continues to suffer setbacks brought by fraud.

According to the Prieston Group, a fraud protection and prevention group, there's a number of ways in which fraud can be committed. The types of fraud operations preying on Georgia real estate investors include occupancy fraud, false rent verifications, appraisal fraud, broker fraud, investment schemes, and identity theft. Among these, 48% of the claims from Georgia are filed as occupancy fraud. It occurs when a mortgage borrower knowingly misrepresents the intention of living in the property in a ploy to obtain lower mortgage rates. It does not matter whether the borrower is the owner of the property, an investor after lower financing costs, or a con artist attempting to get away with fraud. Fraud is still fraud, and the local Georgian government is pushing for more stringent measures to lower the state's fraud ranking and protect it's real estate industry.

The state upholds the Georgia Residential Mortgage Fraud Act which names misstating, omitting, and misrepresenting facts and intentions in real estate deals as criminal acts. Mortgage felony of this nature merits a 10-year jail term and fines amounting to $100000. Although there is wide appreciation for the mortgage fraud policy, there are some parties that see problems in upholding the policy. They claim that lenders unaware of the borrowers' fraudulent intentions are also criminally liable. Michael Brook, a specialist in mortgage law, counters the claim by stating a policy provision that states that lenders are allowed to be defendants to plead their cases in the event that they are involved in fraud cases. In addition to the lenders, appraisers, brokers, real estate agents, and investors are possible defendants in a fraud case. He asserts that the stringency of the new policy makes committing frauds more difficult which discourages potential lawbreakers. He also claims that the move by Georgia serves a paradigm for other states. At present four more states are upholding similar laws, and California, another real estate hotspot is considering to adopt a similar policy.

The Georgia Residential Mortgage Fraud Act continues to boosts the real estate industry of state. Despite the mix of reactions regarding the new policy, there is no doubt that it minimizes risks of fraud in investing in Georgia real estate properties. Finally, hopes for the redemption of Georgia as fraud hotspot are high in the near future. The state looks forward to more real estate investors and the revival of its industry. <bio>For more valuable information on Gerogia Real Estate, please visit http://www.advantagehousehunt.com </bio>

Credit card fraud is becoming more and more of a problem, and if you are not careful then you could lose money to fraudsters. If you are worried about fraud but are unsure how you can protect yourself and your credit cards, then this article could help you. Here are some useful tips and advice about how to protect yourself from credit card fraud:

Methods of fraud

The methods and types of fraud are increasing as criminals learn new techniques and get improved technology. The most common methods of fraud today include:

Copying and 'cloning' of cards ATM fraud Internet card fraud PIN number stealing

All of these methods are used more commonly than ever before to effectively steal your money. Obviously, it is impossible to totally eliminate the problem of credit card fraud, but there are things you can do to greatly reduce the risks.

Keep cards close

Make sure that you never let your cards out of your sight. Never leave cards unattended, and certainly don't lend your card to anyone. If you are paying in a restaurant or shop, make sure you pay attention as to where your card is. A common method used to copy your card is to get the details whilst you pay, so keep an eye on your card at all times.

Check receipts

Whenever you get a receipt or a credit card bill, check that all the items and amounts are correct. If there are any amounts that you are unsure about, contact your card issuer immediately. Any paperwork that you throw away should be disposed of properly. Shred documents so that people cannot go through your rubbish and discover your card details.

Look behind you

When withdrawing money from a cash machine, make sure no one is looking over your shoulder to read your PIN. The easiest way for someone to use your card illegally is to see your PIN and then steal the card. Also, make sure you never keep a written record of your PIN, especially near your cards.

Use reputable firms

When buying on the Internet, make sure that you only purchase items from large and well-established providers. Small or unknown providers should be avoided as even if they are genuine, their security and encryption may be poor and allow fraudsters to access your details.

Keep contact numbers

If you have your card stolen or you think you have been the victim of credit card fraud, then you need to sort the problem out as quickly as possible. Keep all the contact numbers for your card issuer in a safe place so that you can call them up and sort out problems immediately. If you are careful and act quickly, you can limit the damage of fraud or prevent it occurring at all. <bio>Peter Kenny is a writer for creditcards-gb For additional articles and an extensive resource for everything about credit cards, please visit us at http://www.creditcards-gb.co.uk and http://www.thriftyscot.co.uk/Credit-Cards/ </bio>

Beware; we have modern-day "Dick Turpins'" at work on our roads. Not quite "Stand and deliver" at gun point, but there's a striking similarity.

Innocent drivers are being targeted in this frightening new crime which appears to spreading across the country. Effectively, we have an ambush situation.

This is what can happen:

You may be following a vehicle, generally an ageing car or van, onto a roundabout or slip road. This vehicle, which often has no brake lights, brakes hard and you cannot avoid slamming into it.

There may be two cars involved. One is in front of you and another one may veer into its path, the car in front of you brakes hard and you crash into it.

These "set up" crashes commonly occur at really busy roundabouts or motorway slip roads. The instigators of these incidents are skilled at pinning the blame on the innocent motorist. These modern day highwaymen work in teams, owning and managing repair garages and car hire companies. These firms present falsely inflated invoices for work carried out, hire of a car whilst the car is off the road and so on. They then make a bogus claim on the blameless motorist's insurers, often inflating it for maximum pay-out and claiming for compensation for so-called injuries to the driver and passengers. Often the vehicle which they use is an old banger, which will probably contain the maximum number of passengers, all claiming to have been injured in some way and seeking compensation for this and probably loss of earning too. In this way a minor accident claim can escalate into a claim of £20,000 or more.

Insurers are quite rightly extremely concerned about the scale of these so called "accidents" and believe there could be as many as 10,000 of them occurring per year. A single insurance company may not easily pick up on the organised fraud but working with other insurers will give benefits. With this in mind the Association of British Insurers have created an Insurance Fraud Bureau. They will monitor details of suspect claims and scrutinize millions of them to find patterns or links. It is intended that the bureau will liaise with police and hopefully will take civil prosecutions against these fraudsters to recover money which has already been paid out.

There was a case of insurers linking 400 "staged accidents" to one particular gang, involving other crimes in addition to the insurance fraud, where the police would only get involved if the investigation was funded by the insurers. Insurance fraud may be low on the priorities list as far as the police are concerned but in view of the danger to drivers as a result of these unpleasant incidents their reluctance to get involved will have to change.

A Home Office fraud review is due out in the summer of 2006 and hopefully the Association of British Insurers concerns will be addressed in this.

In the meantime, some advice from Norwich Union's head of fraud, Chris Hill, who says "Keep your distance from the car in front at roundabouts and slip roads and cut your speed. Keep an eye on the vehicle in front. The occupants may turn to look at you or may even make a gesture just before the trap is sprung."

If a crash does happen, remember to get as much information as you can. Note how many occupants were in the other car, their sex and as much detail as you can about how they were dressed. Make a note of these details and make sure your insurer is aware of them.

These gangs are putting innocent drivers and their passengers at risk. It is vitally important that insurers and drivers work together in a concerted effort to stop this crime. <bio>Brokers Online offer its clients access to a great range of car insurance ( http://www.life-assurance-bureau.co.uk/car-insurance/ ) along with many other financial services including life insurance quotes ( http://www.life-assurance-bureau.co.uk ) </bio>

Is travel insurance a rip-off? That is a simple question with a complicated answer. To properly understand this issue, you should first understand what travel insurance is. The definition of travel insurance is fairly straightforward =96it's short term insurance that covers you while you are on vacation. Travel insurance coverage depends on the parameters of the policy, but in general it extends to lost or broken luggage, thefts that happen during your vacation, medical needs that might arise during your vacation and lost personal items.

There have been many documented occasions of travel insurers being downright fraudulent. The internet is rife with examples. Many people have complained about travel insurance that travel agencies or airlines recommend for them being absurdly expensive, difficult or impossible to use, or even non-existent. In some cases, class-action lawsuits have been filed and have been paid to fraud victims. Many people have claimed that exploitative travel agents offered them vacation packages at seemingly steep discounts, only to force them to purchase overpriced travel insurance packages.

That said, not all travel insurers are bad, and buying travel insurance is not always a bad idea. There are many reputable, well-organized, established travel insurers out there. The best thing you can do if you are considering travel insurance is do your homework. Compare different travel insurers' rates and coverage packages. Read the fine print. Check consumer reports and fraud awareness websites.

Here is a brief list of circumstances in which you might find yourself where traveler's insurance can be a big help. If you suspect you might run into one or more of these problems during your trip, then traveler's insurance is probably a good idea.

Your flight is canceled. If you are flying during a very high-volume holiday season and the weather is predicted to be particularly bad, traveler's insurance might come in handy.

Your bags are lost and you have prescription medication. You need to have an emergency prescription filled. If you have critical medical needs, then traveler's insurance is absolutely a good idea. You will want to be sure and have a quality, proven insurer with strong medical coverage. Regardless, you will want to put any prescription medications in your carry-on in case your luggage is lost.

Your passport and wallet are stolen and you need emergency cash and a new passport. It isn't easy to predict a theft, but if you are traveling to an area where you are at greater risk of having your wallet stolen, insurance is a good idea.

A hurricane forces you to evacuate your hotel, resort or cruise. Certain areas of the world are more susceptible to hurricanes, especially during a few months of the year. If you are traveling to one of these volatile locations during hurricane season, insurance could bail you out if a storm comes.

A terrorist incident occurs in the city you're planning to visit and you want to cancel your trip. Terrorism is a horrific, tremendously unfortunate reality in today's complicated world. It's horrible to think about, but if you are traveling in a particularly volatile part of the world, travel insurance might ease your mind. <bio>Providing health insurance for Ontario visitors, we offer travelers affordable solutions for their health and medical insurance needs who are not covered under a Canadian government health plan. http://www.pucherinsurance.com/visitors-health-insurance-ontario.php </bio>

Health insurance is very important to each and every one. Although there are several types of plans it is essential to select the right one for you. This might prove to be very tricky as you might not be able to understand the advantages and disadvantages of each and every plan while making a decision.

The broad categorization of health insurance is into two groups, the indemnity plan and the managed care plan. With indemnity plans, one can get a return of costs incurred towards medical treatment although only to a fixed limit. This plan also known as reimbursement plan will require the patient to bear a portion of the bill incurred whatever be the total charges. With this plan, the insurer needs to shell out a particular amount on a daily basis for some fixed number of days. Though the amount provided through the plan does not depend on the actual total costs, the amount paid is never above the expense incurred.

The other type of health insurance is the managed care plan. This again is further divided based on the type of policy taken and is categorized as HMOs, POSs, and PPOs. Many people opt for managed care plans over indemnity insurance plans as the flexibility provided by the former is much better. Here you get to pay a monthly fee regardless of the number of visits to the physician or hospital or you make a co-payment every time you make a visit and pay no fee every month. Also, you get more choices to select the type of care that you can afford. Depending on your abilities, you can choose to select the number of doctors in your network that you have the freedom to visit. Some types of managed care plans like the PPOs provide sponsorship programs that cover a huge network of hospitals and other medical services. This kind of insurance is usually provided by the employer where you work.

For an average person, it is best if he/ she sticks on to opting for a managed health care plan as the economics are far better. Although indemnity plans provide more options in allowing the insurer to visit any hospital or physician of their choice, it is more expensive. With managed health care plans, the patient is made to visit the hospital or physician within the network of the insuring company. This causes a problem only if you have to visit a specialist not within the network for any specific problem. A managed health care plan will however be more economical than indemnity plan but the latter is better in case of any emergency especially when you are away from town.

So, before you opt for any type of insurance plan covering your health, it is best to consider the advantages and drawbacks of each and every type of coverage available to you before making the right decision. Your choice should provide you the best kind of coverage at the lowest costs incurred by you.<bio>Learn how to attact your employee with group health individual insurance plan as well as tips and strategies to prevent health insurance fraud and abuse when you visit http://www.wellbeingcoverage.com, the portal dedicated to small business group health insurance</bio>
