Even though teething a milestone for your little one, it is several months of irritation for mother and baby. This fun begins around 3 or 4 months of age and continues up to 3 years. Below is approximate times of when new teeth may start to come in.

6 to 7 months; Incisors; Two central bottom and Two central top teeth 7 to 9 months; Two more incisors; Top and bottom 10 to 14 months; First molars; Double teeth for chewing 15 to 18 months; Canines; The pointed teeth or "fangs" 2 to 3 years; Second molars; Second set of double teeth at the back

By their third birthday, most children should have all twenty of their primary teeth.

Teething is relatively painless for babies, but it is uncomfortable. Many parents think their baby has teething symptoms, when in fact it may be something else. Here are the most common symptoms:

* * Irritability * * Restlessness/difficulty sleeping * * Increased saliva * * Drooling * * Desire to chew on everything within grasping distance

Other signs that can be seen in the baby's mouth include swollen, tender gums where a new tooth is coming through.

If your baby is teething and it is really bothering them, there are things you can do to ease the irritation. One thing I used with my son was a teether. There are many different types of teethers. I used one that resembled a set of keys; it was his favorite. Another type that he enjoyed was a chilled, not frozen, teething ring.

When you see that first tooth, all the irritation will be well worth it. **************** About The Author **************** Debra Slater: With over 25 years of experience in the baby related industry, http://HappyMothers.com and http://MommysLittleBaby.com has the most experienced and knowledgeable sales staff.
The Affenpinscher's German name means Monkey-Terrier and refers to the breed's comical, bewhiskered face and slightly undershot jaw. Another name for this dog is Monkey Pinscher. In France the Affenpinscher is known as Diablotin Moustachu, which translates to Moustached Little Devil.

Germany claims origin of the Affenpinscher. It is felt the little dog was bred elsewhere in Europe as well. The Affenpinscher originated in the seventeenth century and descended from terriers that inhabited farms and shops of central Europe. In his neck of the woods, the Affenpinscher was a confident sharp-witted little hunter.

Some writers believe the Affenpinscher is a descendant of the Miniature Pinscher, possibly crossed with some of the German wirehaired breeds or the Skye Terrier. It may be related to the Brussels Griffon and the Miniature Schnauzer.

The original purpose of the Affenpinscher was a vermin hunter, alarm dog and companion. He first came to America in the 1930s and was entered in the AKC studbook in 1936. He first appeared in the American show rings in Chicago and New York.

Personality

The Affenpinscher is naturally alert and vigilant, which helps him to be an excellent alarm dog. He is lively, cheerful and entertaining. He bonds quickly with his family and is affectionate. He may challenge strangers who come to your door, but will make friends easily if properly introduced as a friend.

The Affenpinscher needs consistent training. He learns commands quickly. He is anxious to please his handler but may become bored easily. Training sessions for the Affenpinscher should be kept short and varied. The Affenpinscher is intelligent and curious. He likes to learn new tasks. You will need to be creative when training the Affenpinscher.

Appearance

The Affenpinscher stands 9 to 12 inches tall and weights between 7 and 8 pounds. He is not a delicate toy dog. He is sturdy and has medium bone structure. He has a domed skull which gives him a curious, sort of comical looking facial expression. His unkempt hairstyle adds to his clown like appearance. Ears are cropped or uncropped, erect or dropped. He has a straight, blunt muzzle. His bite is slightly undershot with the lower incisors touching the upper incisors.

The coat of an Affenpinscher is harsh, dense and about one inch long. It may be even shorter on the rear and tail, yet shaggier on the head, neck, chest, stomach and legs. His tail is either docked to approximately one inch or left natural to curve up and over the back when moving.

Colors of an Affenpinscher are usually black but it is sometime seen in gray, silver or black and tan. A small white patch on the chest is allowable, but large white patches are undesirable.

Exercise

This sturdy and hearty little guy will get by on a minimal amount of exercise. He does enjoy regular romps in the yard and playtime with his owners. Leashed walks are also enjoyable for the Affenpinscher.

Grooming

The Affenpinscher requires little combing and brushing. After a bath, this little dog shakes off and looks about the same as he did before his bath. Regular combing will keep the coat in good condition.

You will need a medium-toothed comb for general use and a small, fine comb for the hair on the face, particularly around the eyes. A small good-quality bristle nylon hairbrush (for ladies) works well for the Affenpinscher. Do not attempt to make this little dog too neat and tidy -- a shaggy appearance is required.

Combing with a medium or fine-toothed comb and then brushing with a nylon or bristle cushion hairbrush will remove loose hairs and keep the coat tidy. The face is scissored to give a round shape when viewed from the front. The beard is left long for show purposes. This pet dog can be left natural or trimmed to appear neat and smart. <bio>Author: Connie Limon.
Usually cementum aging is associated to accurately judging the age of deers (and related animals). There are actually two ways to find out the age of the deer, one is by carefully judging the wear and tear of the teeth of the deer (or similar animal) and calculating the age according to these signs, as well as the shape and number of teeth in the mouth of the deer.

It has been found however, that this method is highly inaccurate when you want to pin down the age more correctly. Hence, whenever the right age of the animal is required, the cementum aging method is used. Though this method is very expensive and requires sophisticated laboratory equipment and expertise, the results are highly precise. Hence, whenever the answer is important, the age is determined by the cementum method.

What Does the Cementum Method Involve?

Usually this method is applied to the front incisors, though it can be done to any other teeth as well. The teeth are gently removed very carefully not to damage any tissue and are sent to the lab. Here, the teeth are cleaned and then placed in a light acid solution to get de-calcified. Once it is de-calcified, the teeth become like pencil erasers. These are frozen first and then sliced in micro sizes for viewing under the microscope.

Once this is done, a little dye is added to enhance viewing, and then the lab technician counts the rings that are formed. Each ring formed symbolizes one year passed. Hence, if there are three rings, the deer is three years old; if it has not one proper ring formed, then it has not yet completed one year, and so on.

There is not enough information to tie up anti aging to cementum aging in any form yet, though there are a lot of speculations. However, there are plenty of research studies which are looking into the aspect of anti aging to cementum aging and hopefully some of these studies would come up with better choices and understanding of both anti aging and cementum aging concepts. Only then a proper link can be established.

The anti aging to cementum aging tie-up concept is new and it will require quite some work before some proper material is found for it. There are a lot of funds going into research on anti aging to cementum aging and the results will come out in the course of the next five years. Hopefully, some breakthrough will be seen soon. It have already added knowledge to the human aging process. <bio>Dr. April Davall is webmaster of http://agingknowledge.com/, which goal is to to give good and latest information about aging and anti aging.
The world's smallest monkey, the Pygmy Marmoset, lives in rainforest canopies of western Brazil, southeastern Colombia, eastern Ecuador and eastern Peru, sheltered in holes in trees. These little primates range from five to six inches long (excluding the tail) and weigh only four and one-half to five ounces.

The Pygmy Marmoset's tail is ringed, and when stretched out, is as long as their bodies. Because much of their diet comes from tree sap, their claws are specially adapted for climbing and boring holes into trees. They can spend two-thirds of their time digging out bark and wood fibre in their attempts to reach the gummy sap. The Marmoset's incisors are shovel-shaped, designed for gouging holes in trees so they can lick out the sap.

These little creatures are difficult to observe in their natural habitat because of their small size. Researchers are not sure how long they live in the wild; in captivity, they can live from 10 to 11 years. In addition to tree sap, their diet consists of fruit, insects, birds and bird eggs. They live in family groups, sometimes with two males and several females (only one male is dominant and he controls access to the females) and several youngsters. Females typically give birth to two babies at a time.

The Pygmy Marmoset's rating on the Worldwide Endangered Species List is LC, of `least concern'. However, because the rainforest ecosystem is an amazing resource that is quickly slipping away, the rate of species extinction generally is undeniably high.

Pygmies create colonies on edges of pastures, fields and orchards, in close proximity to humans. However, these communities are unlike the dense populations found in undisturbed rainforests. As rainforests are logged, mined and developed for agriculture, Pygmies will forever lose their homeland.

Increased public awareness about the little guys can't hurt. <bio>Rainforest Animals are a big part of the http://www.paradiseearthonline.com Paradise Earth Rainforest Project. </bio>

It is important for everyone seeking the Invisalign treatment to understand what you are getting into before the plunge has been made. There are great aspects about Invisalign and it is primarily up to you and your dentist/orthodontist to make that decision, but here are some key things worth noting before entering the treatment.

These transparent aligners are most appropriate for dental Class I, mild crowding or minor malocclusions, problems that can be generally solved with a traditional retainer. It is difficult for Invisalign aligners to solve rotational issues of your teeth. It is very important that the patient follows the Invisalign treatment procedures and process. The aligners can be removed for eating and drinking, etc=85 but it is important to wear the aligners for at least 20 hours a day. Unlike traditional braces, most patients are actually motivated to wear this device because of its superior aesthetic. Easy daily oral hygiene can be accomplished with the removable aligners.

If a patient has a tough time, it is a good idea to seek help or a consultation from an orthodontist or experienced dentist (e.g. a dentist on invisalign.com. that is experienced when it comes to Invisalign) Generally, orthodontists and dentists that have taken extensive education or are certified to perform the Invisalign treatment can carry out more complex issues than the average dentist and can replace the transparent aligners with a brief period of traditional braces to either attain harder more drastic teeth movement or fixing the issues after the treatment is complete and a retainer must be worn.

Orthodontists or Dentist's may use attachments with the treatment. These attachments are small pieces of composite (tooth colored things) attached to certain teeth, to help move your teeth more quickly and to produce certain tooth movements. The attachments will often be referred to as 'buttons' by orthodontists and are removed at the end of the treatment. While these "buttons" are normally tooth-colored, they can be clear or metal much like the fixtures you see in traditional braces. These `buttons' can be placed on the incisors or eye teeth causing the transparency or "invisibility" of the aligners to be less existent and the aligners to be more visible. The buttons are placed on patient's teeth with more severe malocclusions and are not put on all cases.

It is important to look up pricing, testimonials, and even pictures before deciding if Invisalign is right for you. It can be a great product to change your teeth, but do some research before jumping into it. Braces are also a great option. I by no means want to downplay braces, because they have done wonders for people's teeth and confidence. I hope you now know a little more about Invisalign and braces and can make a better decision when the time comes for you to get those straight teeth. It is something everyone with a malocclusion or issue should look into. The best place to inevitably find answers for your teeth is your local dentist. They know far more about what you need than I could hope to know. <bio>Blake helps people with questions about http://www.antibraces.com invisalign and what you can expect from http://www.antibraces.com clear braces Blake works for an informational site dedicated to information about http://www.antibraces.com Invisalign braces located in Seattle. </bio>

Rabbits are small mammals in the family Leporidae of the order Lagomorpha, found in several parts of the world. There are seven different genera in the family classified as rabbits, including the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus), cottontail rabbit (genus Sylvilagus; 13 species), and the Amami rabbit (Pentalagus furnessi, endangered species on Amami and#332;shima, Japan). Nearly half of the world's rabbit species are in danger of extinction; many are among the most vulnerable of all mammals. All of the teeth grow continuously throughout the rabbit's life and are kept worn down by the action of chewing and grinding of tooth against tooth. Many rabbits dig burrows, but cottontails and hispid hares do not. When danger is perceived, the general tendency of rabbits is to freeze and hide under cover.

In Europe, where rabbits are farmed on a large scale, they are protected against myxomatosis and calicivirus with a genetically modified virus. If it were to make its way into wild populations in areas such as Australia, it could create a population boom, as those diseases are the most serious threats to rabbit survival. A popular culture manifestation of this tradition can be found in the character title character of Sailor Moon, whose name is Usagi Tsukino, a Japanese pun on the words "rabbit of the moon. This is thought to date back to early times in the quarrying industry, where piles of extracted stone (not fit for sale) were built into tall rough walls (to save space) directly behind the working quarry face; the rabbit's natural tendency to burrow would weaken these "walls" and cause collapse, often resulting in injuries or even death.

Rabbits have six incisors, or front teeth, four on the top and two on the bottom. Nonburrowing rabbits make surface nests called forms, generally under dense protective cover. While the European rabbit is the best-known species, it is probably also the least typical, as there is considerable variability in the natural history of rabbits. In gardens, they are typically kept in hutches =96small, wooden, house-like boxes=96 that protect the rabbits from the environment and predators. In many regions, rabbits are also bred for meat, a practice called cuniculture.

Rabbits graze heavily and rapidly for roughly the first half hour of a grazing period (usually in the late afternoon), followed by about half an hour of more selective feeding. In rabbits, the cecum is approximately 10 times bigger than the stomach, and it, along with the large intestine, makes up roughly 40% of the rabbit's digestive tract. Most rabbits are relatively solitary and sometimes territorial, coming together only to breed or occasionally to forage in small groups. <bio>Kate Riding works to help rabbits at http://www.69toys.co.uk/index.php?cPath=23_38 </bio>

The ideal height is between 9 and 10 inches measured at the withers, and slightly less than the length from point of shoulder to point of buttocks. His outline is somewhat of a rectangle rather than square. The Havanese should never appear fragile. A coarse dog with excessive bone is contrary to type and therefore undesirable according to the AKC standard. The minimum height stated here does not apply to males and females under twelve months of age.

Head

The expression of a Havanese should be soft, mischievous and intelligent. The chocolate colored Havanese will have dark chocolate brown pigment. No other dilution of pigment is acceptable.

The ears are of medium length. The leather when extended reaches halfway to the nose. The ears are set high on the skull, slight above the endpoint of the zygomatic arch and are broad at the base. They show a distinct fold. When the Havanese is alert the ears lift at the base. This lift will cause an unbroken shallow arc from the outer edge of each ear across the backskull.

The backskull is broad and slightly rounded. The stop is moderate. The length of the muzzle of a Havanese is slightly less than the length of the backskull measured from stop to point of occiput and the planes are level.

The nose is broad and square. The pigment on the nose and lips is solid black for all colors except the Chocolate Havanese. The Chocolate Havanese will have dark chocolate brown pigment. No other color pigment is acceptable.

A scissors bite is ideal. Full complement of incisors is preferred.

Neck, Topline and Body

The neck is of moderate length and in balance with the height and length of the Havanese. The neck carries a slight arch and blends smoothly into the shoulders. The topline of a Havanese is straight but not level. The body measured from point of shoulder to point of buttocks is slightly longer than the height at the withers. The chest is deep, rather broad in front and reaches the elbow. The tail is high-set and plumed with long, silky hair. The tail arcs forward over the back, neither flat on the back nor tightly curled. When the Havanese moves the tail is carried loosely curled over the rump. The tail may not be docked.

Forequarters

Shoulder layback is moderate. The upper arm is relatively short. The elbows turn neither in nor out and are tight to the body. Forelegs are well-boned and straight when viewed from any angle. Dewclaws may be removed. The feet are round with well arched toes and turn neither in nor out. Pads and nails may be black, white, pink or a combination of these colors. Chocolate Havanese may also have brown pads and nails.

Hindquarters

The hind legs are well-boned and muscular through the thigh with moderate angulation. In normal stance, the hind legs are parallel to each other from hock to heel and all the joints are in line when viewed from the rear. The rump is slightly higher than the withers and contributes to the Havanese's unique, springy gait. The hind feet fall slightly behind a perpendicular line from the point of the buttock when viewed from the side.

Coat

The coat of a Havanese is double. He does not have a woolly undercoat usually associated with double coats. The coat is soft and light in texture throughout. The outer coat carries slightly more weight. The long hair is abundant and ideally is wavy. The ideal coat of a Havanese will not be so profuse nor overly long as to obscure the natural lines of the dog. A disqualification would be a coarse, wiry coat.

Color

All colors are acceptable. The skin may be freckled or parti-colored.

Gait

The Havanese has a lively, elegant gait. The characteristic "spring" in his gait is caused by the strong rear drive combined with the flashy front action caused by the short upper arm. The front legs reach forward freely. There is good extension in the rear and no tendency toward sickle hocks. Head is typically held high even on movement.

Temperament

The Havanese is playful, alert and intelligent with a sweet disposition. He is easily trained. <bio>Author: Connie Limon.
