Normally a wedding invitation is regarded as an invitation card, which is a printed material. And designers are usually working at the graphics on the card. However, there is a possibility that we treat the wedding invitation as a three dimensional product so that it will no longer be a flat sheet of paper.

On of the ideas of this kind of three dimensional wedding invitation is a glass bottle invitation. This notion of glass bottle in fact perfectly fits a beach wedding theme. You can put some sand from the beach you are going to hold your wedding into the bottle. Other ingredients such as small shells can also be used to decorate your glass bottle invitation. In this case you will only need to print a simple piece of paper containing the details of your wedding. This piece of information paper should not be a fancy one otherwise it may overwhelm the power of the glass bottle, in terms of design.

Another interesting application of the idea of glass bottle invitation is that you can express every detail in your lives using the bottle. For example, if you are going to invite 300 guests. You can start collecting bottles 300 days before you send the wedding invitation. In a morning you keep the glass bottle of milk for your breakfast. The other day you may keep another bottle when you finish a bottle of red wine.

After you have collected all these bottles, you can print the information of your wedding on pieces of elegant paper and put them in the bottles. Every guest will be receiving a different bottle. And each bottle signifies your lives within these 300 days before your wedding.

If you are going to adapt this idea of glass bottle wedding invitation, you have to think of some practical issues. Firstly a glass bottle can be a lot heavier than a normal invitation card, this may make the postage cost higher than you expect. You should ask for the rates of postage well before you make the decision.

Besides, there is no doubt that glass products are something that can be easily broken. You will need to pay extra attention to the package of the invitation before mailing them out. It will be a pity if any of your guests receive some broken bottles. Of course there will be less problematic if you are going to send the invitations to most of your guests personally but that will certainly take you some time and money to do that.

If you would like to ease the problem of broken glass bottles, you may also consider using plastic bottle as substitutes. Some companies offer such bottles with a lower price than glass bottles. You can certainly save some money by using plastic bottles. It is on one hand cheaper than glass bottles and on the other hand lighter so that the cost of postage will be lower. However, if budget is not a problem to you, I will still suggest you to use glass bottles since the texture of a glass bottle is a lot different from a plastic one. <bio>TM Lung is a wedding invitation designer.
Some people love wearing perfume, others just like to look at the bottles themselves. For those who enjoy creating collections, a perfume bottle can be the start of not only a lovely looking display, but also a valuable one.

An antique perfume bottle can range in price from a few dollars to thousands. To get started on one of these collections, it's a good idea for a want-to-be collector on a budget to make a few rules of the game first. These include:

* Looks. When a perfume bottle collection is desired, those looking for great buys will find the prices run the gamut. To ensure a collection that's affordable and enjoyable, it's a good idea for a collector on a budget to make sure to buy only those bottles he or she really loves.

If this is the biggest rule of thumb, there really isn't a bad purchase to be made. Buying just for price and value is okay, but to truly create a collection that's prized, looks should come into play in a very big way.

* Pricing. As it's been said, a perfume bottle collection can have a much higher price tag than many might think. Set a price limit on individual buys and try to stick with it as possible.

* Always shop around. Perhaps one of the best things about creating an antique perfume bottle collection is the fact a person never knows where a great bottle will turn up. From online auction sites and estate sales to antique shops and barn sales, these bottles can be found all over the place. The pricing will depend on the bottle in question and the location it's found. Sometimes some great buys can be had at regular garage sales.

The types of perfume bottle choices collectors can come across are pretty amazing. Older bottles tend to be a lot more decorative and ornate than those on the market today. Plus, often tines, these older bottles didn't have brand names on them, as they were seen as works of art on their own. This little fact lends to the beauty of the bottles, because they often are not encumbered with word or visible trademark.

Some of the types include:

Antique cut glass: Many perfume bottle creations in the 1800s and early 1900s were made out of hand-cut glass. These little bottles were often designed to look as pretty as their contents smelled. These bottles can range from a few dollars to thousands, depending.

Silver designs: Many antique bottles were made with glass insides and intricate silver designs on the outer surface. These bottles are mini works of art on their own.

Crystal: Crystal pressed and etch glass designs were and remain very popular. The pricing depends on the quality of the crystal and often the period it was made.

Ceramics: A lot of bottle designs in the 1920s were made with blown glass and ceramics. With hand painted pictures on the outside of the bottles, some of these creations are one-of-a-kind treasures.

A perfume bottle collection can be a great way to get into collecting items that are small and quite attractive. Whether it's antique silver, crystal, cut glass or all of the above, these bottles are considered by many to be individual works of art. <bio>Get all the latest in perfume know how from the one and only true source at http://www.AllPerfumeInfo.com.
A beach wedding is considered more stylish than a formal one. In fact it is perfect for couples who believe that the big day should be full of fun. To this end a beach wedding is less formal. In this case you invitation can also be a less formal one.

When we talk about the beach and sea, the first thing that may come to your mind is most probably a seashell. You can put patterns or graphics of seashells on the invitation card. You may also find photos of seashells and put them on the invitation.

If you do not satisfy with the idea of putting images of the seashells on the card, you can go one step further. You can consider using a real seashell as an element of the wedding card. You can put it in the invitation envelop. If you are using a glass bottle as a container for your invitation, you can even put a few small seashells into it.

Besides seashell, sand can also represent the idea of a beach. The ideal case is that you can take the sand from the beach you are going to have your wedding. You can stick a thin layer of sand on the card. From this your guests will certainly have a clue about your wedding once they see the wedding card.

Again, if you are going to use a glass bottle, you can put the sand into the bottle. In fact a glass bottle is an interesting idea since it will be like a sculpture. However, you need to bear in mind that a glass bottle can be quite heavy. As a result the postage will be higher than you originally expect. Besides, you should also take extra care about the package when you mail it out since a glass bottle can be easily broken if it is not packed with care.

If you would like to going back to the idea of a printed card, you can also consider the following idea. You can draw some cartoon drawings of a beach. You can even draw a portrait of you, with the wedding dresses on, to indicate that it is your wedding on a beach. The style of the drawing can be a funny one. As discussed before, a beach wedding is full of fun. Your invitation should also be full of fun.

Nowadays some couples will choose to put their photos into the wedding invitation. This idea can be perfect for your beach theme invitation. However, you may need to spend some time for the photos. You do not just choose a photo at home to put on the wedding card. Instead you will go to the beach you are going to have your wedding and take a photo there. You do not need to hire a photographer to take photos for you. A causal photo can be perfect. The key is to express the love of you and your spouse. An invitation card like this can be an extremely romantic one. <bio>TM Lung is a wedding invitation designer. While many wonderful fragrances come in interesting and beautiful fragrance bottles, you don't have to leave your perfumes in the perfume bottles they came in. For some the scents that the bottles contain are the real prize but the bottles themselves seduce with their shapes and colors. There is something elegant about a vanity or dresser that is lined with perfume bottles. The perfume bottle appeals to our sense of sight and touch.

There are Very close to twenty-one thousand different perfumes being marketed at any one time, and that means there must be an estimated twenty-one thousand different perfume bottle designs aimed at attracting the consumer's eye. Perfume bottle making is big business, and the leader in the perfume bottle making industry dating back to the nineteenth century is a company called Pochet SA of France.

Reuse Your Favorite Perfume Bottles

Fragrance bottles are essential for keeping the scent for a longer period of time as the perfume can evaporate and needs airtight containers so that the quantity does not reduce when not in use. The best perfume bottles are those made from colored glass or some other opaque material so that the perfume does not get evaporated by sunlight. Lately, porcelain is widely used in making perfume bottles and many shapes are given to it like nuts, balls and eggshells.

Limited edition fragrance bottles are sometimes produced by manufacturers. These bottles are so gorgeous that it is hard to give them up when you have finished with the perfume inside. Don't throw them away, carefully refill them and continue using them. You can find many older novelty fragrance bottles from companies such as Avon and fill them with your favorite perfume. If you browse around an antique store, you might come across a few gorgeous or old fashioned stopper perfume bottles. Wash them out thoroughly and let them dry for a few days before you place your new perfume in these golden oldies. When you purchase an antique bottle or atomizer, always make sure that the stopper is tight so that your perfume won't evaporate from the bottle.

Make New Perfume Bottles

If you desire and you enjoy adventure, consider taking a glass blowing class and making your own perfume bottle from scratch. Working under the supervision of master artists you can make something that is indeed beautiful and unlike anything anyone else will have or have seen.

By taking a trip to your local beauty supply shop or even a glass manufacturer you can find several different looking atomizers and bottles that can be used to store perfume. If you buy a plain bottle, you can decorate it to your own taste by using colored tissue paper to the bottle to create a stained glass look. Try painting the bottle with stained glass paint or even fabric paint for a textured look. You can also glue beads or other decorations to a perfume bottle to make it truly unique.

Collectors have emerged, dedicated to finding and purchasing perfume bottles of every conceivable variety. The International Perfume Bottle Association with thousands of members dedicated to putting perfume bottle enthusiasts in contact with each other so that they can find those designs that are truly unique. <bio>Captivating articles about the products you need and must have.
Do you have an old window? Is it an embarrassing sight for your house? Do you ever wish you could just remove it? Well, don't. Because there is a way to transform your old and ugly window into something that is worth a second glance; the answer is to install a decorative window film. It is an affordable way to brighten up your place and simply make it look better.

Decorative window films are available in different styles, it is a cheap way to make your place look attractive and give it some beauty and design. There are a variety of decorative window films, and the most common are those which mimic the glass. Decorative window films that mimic stained glass and etched glass are the most popular. Whatever you choose, installing a decorative window film is fast and easy. The tools you would need are a tape measure, razor knife, scissors, Plastic Card Squeegee, spray bottle, paper towel and a ruler.

• First, use the spray bottle and squeegee to clean the areas of the glass where you would place the decorative window film. Make sure all the dirt and grime are removed.

• Next, measure the glass surface with the tape measure. The amount of film you will use should oversize the surface by on each side. Cut the film.

• Next, fill the spray bottle with water; this should be about 38oz. Add about eight drops of mild detergent into the bottle. Do not use any acidic based detergent or any other detergent with chemicals that can harm or damage your window and the film.

• Lay the film on a flat surface. Carefully remove the cover of the film, exposing the adhesive side. Once exposed, use the solution in the spray bottle and spray on this side. Then, apply some of the same solution to the glass surface. This would prevent the film from attaching immediately therefore giving you more time to adjust the film.

• Place the film on the glass. Once you are happy with the position, use the squeegee from the centre of the film to the side to eliminate any and all air bubbles. Make sure there are no air bubbles left. If there are any air bubbles left, just use the squeegee to remove them.

• Now, use the ruler and razor knife to cut the excess film at both sides. Then use some more of the paper towel to dry the film and take out any solution left from earlier. There you have it. It would take a few days to completely dry.

• Some reminders, take extra time and care in cleaning the glass before putting on the film, this can give you trouble in applying the decorative window film. Also, while removing the cover from the film as it may roll onto itself, spray it with the solution while removing it.

A decorative window film will definitely give your space some colour and aesthetic. With minimal effort, you can change the way your place looks like and enhance the all around feel of your place.<bio>Richard Dinae is an architect, providing information and directories about home improvement, please visit Decorative Window Film</bio>

As a follow up to my last article, "Essential Wine Accessories" I thought it would be interesting to touch on a few accessories that may not be quite so essential but are fun or handy to have regardless.

Wine pourers are traditionally made from clear plastic and fit into the neck of a bottle of wine. The pouring surface is designed to prevent dripping when pouring, for those with an unsteady hand, by returning any excess wine back to the bottle. This can be very handy for those interested in preventing red wine stains on any item of furniture that is not already red in color!

Decanters allow red wine to breathe, enhancing flavor and bouquet. Typically created from glass or crystal, decanters have a narrow neck, which leads to a very wide base. This wide base allows more of the wine to come in contact with the air, letting it breathe before consumption. Decanters are not a necessity but are a practical addition for those interested in enhancing the flavor of their red wine.

A bottle tote is also a practical accessory to have when going out on a picnic or to bring a cold bottle of wine to a dinner party. Usually made from neoprene (the same material diving wetsuits are made from), bottle totes can keep a bottle cool for hours, something handy if you are going to be out and don't want that nice chilled bottle of Sauvignon Blanc to warm up before you have had a chance to drink it.

How many times have you been at a dinner party and have had to juggle your plate and your glass? Mingling plates are the perfect solution for those dinner or cocktail parties when a third hand is essential. With a slot and hole on the side of the plate, a wine glass stem can be inserted so that the glass is resting on the side of the plate. This leaves your hand free to eat without needing to balance a glass in your hand or setting it down on a table.

My personal favorite not so essential accessory is a wine chiller or wine refrigerator. Wine chillers can come in a variety of colors, finishes and capacities to fit your desires. Usually they are small enough to fit on or under a kitchen counter and most have gauges, which allow you to set the chilling temperature according to the type of wine being chilled. That way if you are using your wine refrigerator to store and chill red wine (because red wine should best be served at a temperature of 60 degrees Fahrenheit), the temperature can be adjusted so that bottles are not chilled as if they were white!

The list of wine accessories can appear to be endless, and to write about them all in this article would take too long and bore you to death. So I hope that the few I have touched upon are helpful in deciding which not so necessary wine accessories are more necessary than others. <bio>Ken Finnigan is the CEO of http://www.finestwineracks.com a website specializing in quality decorative wine racks and durable wine storage systems. </bio>

To many people the sight of a man or woman in a restaurant or bar sniffing and swirling a glass of wine before ultimately tasting it and relaying their satisfaction to the server can seem rather pretentious. However, this is actually the best way to get the most from your bottle of wine; to see, smell and taste every aspect. Whether it is an expensive box of wine or a prize winning bottle of Merlot, to truly appreciate a bottle of wine it is important to learn how to correctly taste wine.

The most important thing to keep in mind when tasting a wine is to be sure to use your senses. Enjoying a glass of wine is not simply about drinking and noting the taste, but about inspecting all aspects of the wine.

Colour is very important in wine which is why people are often seen holding a glass of wine up to the light before drinking it. As wine ages the color of the wine changes. Red wines in general begin as a very dark red or purple color. Over time, red wines tend to fade from this dark shade to a garnet and finally a brick red. At first this color change might only be noticed around the rim of a wine, but over the years the entire wine will fade. White wine on the other hand tends to darken with age. White wines usually start out straw or lemon in color and age to dark amber.

Why is the color of a wine so important to inspect? The color of a bottle of wine with respect to it's age can be an important key in determining if a bottle of wine has been manufactured poorly. For example, if a one-year-old bottle of Sauvignon Blanc is already a very dark, deep amber color when the bottle is first opened, this could signify that the bottle has not been manufactured and processed correctly causing the wine to age prematurely and not taste it's best. The same can be said for red wines, if a young bottle of Merlot is already a brick red or brown color when opened, chances are good their was a problem with the bottle and it will not have optimal taste.

Some in the wine community still think it is important to inspect the legs of a glass of wine. "Legs" is a term used to describe the oily wine beads that are on the sides of a glass after it has been swirled around. Many used to think that these legs were a sign of high alcohol or sugar content giving a better quality of wine, and while this might be true in a variety of cases, nowadays most people prefer to use taste as a better method of assessing quality.

T he best way to release the aromas of a glass of wine is to swirl it for a few moments. Swirling helps to agitate the wine and allows more oxygen to have contact with the wine, which in turn releases aromas. It is important to smell a glass of wine before drinking to ensure that the wine smells healthy. A wine should never smell moldy, stale, oxidized, or vinegary in any way.

Aside from checking if a wine smells healthy, swirling a glass of wine is also a great way to be able to smell the primary and/or secondary aromas. Primary aromas are usually found in younger wines, and usually are fruit related, such as orange, raspberry and cherry. Older wines take on secondary aromas, which are earthier. Sometimes wines are said to have an oak, musk or butter flavor, which all are considered secondary aromas.

Finally there is using your palate and tasting the wine. Does the wine taste fruity or earthy? Is it sweet or dry? What kind of texture does it have; thin, buttery, rich? How long did the flavor last after it the wine was swallowed? A wine that lingers is a sign of a good quality wine, but it also means the flavor can be enjoyed longer.

Now that the basics of wine tasting have been revealed, the next time you order a bottle of wine, don't be embarrassed to sniff it, swirl it and taste it like a professional. <bio>Ken Finnigan is the CEO of http://www.finestwineracks.com a website specializing in quality decorative wine racks and durable wine storage systems. </bio>

As with any of the finer things in life, good wine deserves to be savored. Enjoying the perfect glass of wine can set a romantic moment, help you wind down after a long day or liven up a dinner party. But just imagine, how unappetizing, unromantic, not relaxing and certainly not lively it would be to drink your favorite wine from a shoe or a dirty glass or a plastic disposable cup with cartoon characters all over it! Make sure you do it right every time you pour a glass of wine.

Stemware

You need to start with a perfectly clean, fine stemmed wineglass, made of glass or crystal =96 no plastic please. A glass with greasy fingerprints, water spots or, even worse, lipstick remnants, is completely unacceptable. If you make a habit to hand wash all wineglasses and dry them in a lint-free towel before putting them away, they should be in perfect condition the next time you want to enjoy your favorite beverage.

Your glass should also be the correct size, between eight and ten ounces in capacity to allow adequate room for swirling your wine. Stemmed glasses are extremely important, as the stem allows for the wine to be held without the palm of your hand heating it up too much. You should also try to use the correct glass whenever possible for the type of wine you are pouring. Flute type champagne glasses are ideal for sparkling wines because they provide a central point from which bubbles can rise. Tulip shaped glasses are great for red wine. Similar glasses that narrow at the rim are suggested for white wine in order to preserve more of the chill that enhances the wine. Once your glass has been chosen and meets inspection, the next step is opening the bottle.

Opener

It is important to choose a wine opener that you feel comfortable with. There are three main types with many variations on each. The corkscrew pull type ranges from the simple type most bartenders use, to the frustrating wing corkscrew, to the newer lever style corkscrews, which I think are the best thing since sliced bread. There is also the type which involves pumping air into the wine bottle to force out the cork =96 a good idea, however the needle in most of these devices can sometimes be a bit hazardous, especially to those of us typically not good with tools. The third type is a cork puller, in which there are two thin pieces of metal that slide down into the bottle on either side of the cork and will somehow facilitate in pulling out the cork.

The Pouring

However you manage to open your wine, if possible, decant it or allow it to breathe in the bottle before pouring. Hold the bottle over the middle of the glass and pour directly into the middle not on the sides, unless your wine is a sparkling type. Fill the glass only three-quarters full, to give the wine room for its full aroma to be captured. This will enhance the experience of the perfect glass of wine.

Now that you have successfully managed to get your wine from its prison into the perfectly chosen, perfectly clean stemmed glass in your hand, just sit back and enjoy. You have just mastered how to pour the perfect glass of wine. Cheers! <bio>http://www.thewinestandard.com wine gifts The Wine Standard has the widest selection of http://www.thewinestandard.com/wine-gifts.html wine gifts and http://www.thewinestandard.com wine accessories available online.
This year Christmas came early for me when my fiancée gave me my Christmas presents early. As I sat opening my many attractively wrapped packages, the one that excited me and intrigued me the most was an attractive glass wine decanter. Even though I am an avid drinker of red wine, it has never occurred to me in all my years that I should ever use one. Usually I would just set an open bottle of red wine on the counter for a little while before finally drinking it. However, after having used a wine decanter for the first time, I have decided that I will never go back to the old ways again!

A decanter is a vessel, usually made out of glass or lead crystal which is used to separate sediment from another vessel of liquid, for example red wine. In this process, the sediment is left in a small amount of liquid in the original vessel, and the "clear" liquid remains in the decanter. Decanting red wine, however, serves another purpose along with separation of the wine from the sediment and that is to oxygenate the wine.

Aeration or oxygenation is the process of adding oxygen to a liquid. Why do this? Well it's really quite simple and logical when you think about it. Wine has been sealed in a vacuumed bottle for years therefore oxygenating wine takes the edge off and enhances the aromas and bouquet. As we have learned in previous articles, aroma and bouquets are very important aspects to wine and without them at their full potential a bottle will just not taste as well as it should.

Decanting an old bottle of wine is quite simple if you keep in mind two steps. Firstly, it is important to stand the bottle of wine up for several hours to allow the sediment to settle to the bottom of the bottle. Why several hours? While larger sediment will settle to the bottle quite quickly, finer sediment will take much longer. In a well lit room or using a lamp or candle, slowly begin to pour the wine into the decanter. Once you have roughly one third left in the bottle begin to look at the neck of the bottle for the sediment. Place the candle or lamp near the neck of the bottle and once you begin to see sediment in the neck of the bottle, stop pouring. The wine in your decanter should now be sediment free!

Some people say that it is not necessary to decant your everyday bottle of red wine. While this might be true, I have found that there is no harm done in decanting anyway. There might not be as much sediment in the bottle to separate or any at all, but the aeration will still do wonders for the flavour and aromas. The best way to decant a young bottle of wine is to splash it into the decanter so that as much of the wine comes in contact with oxygen as possible. Let the decanter sit for a moment to rest before serving.

So next time you think you will want some red wine with dinner, remember that while decanting is easy, it necessary to begin the decanting process several hours before to ensure you achieve the best aromas from the wine for consumption with your meal. <bio>Finest Wine Racks is a major supplier of a variety of wine racks including wood wine racks, metal wine racks, http://www.finestwineracks.com/counter-top-wine-racks-c-30_26.html, floor standing wine racks and wine storage systems.
First it needs to be established that, yes, there are calories in wine. Indeed, almost nything you eat or drink contains calories unless it is made of almost entirely of water or chemicals. However, calories should be considered fuel for the body and a body will not function well without an adequate supply of fuel. That said, the calories in wine need to be counted if you are watching your weight.

Wine As A Fuel Source

Typically, there are around 80=96100 calories in an average-sized glass of wine. An average-sized glass is considered to be 125=96150 mls (around 4 fl oz), so in a 750ml bottle there are roughly five to six glasses of wine at most. There are red wine glasses available today that can hold almost a full bottle of wine so it is important to consider the size of the glass when counting the calories in wine. A 750ml bottle of wine will generally contain between 300 and 500 calories.

Not all wines contain the same number of calories. Some of the drier white wines, for example, Sauvignon Blanc, white Zinfandel, and Chablis are at the lower end of the calorie scale =96 around 80 calories per glass. Red wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Pinot Noir and Merlot tend to be in the mid range =96 around 95 calories per glass. Champagne contains around 100=96105 calories per glass.

The really high calorie wines are the fortified wines like Port, Madeira, Muscatel and Tokay. These wines typically contain between 165 and 185 calories per glass. However, it should be noted that these wines are usually served in smaller glasses.

Having established the existence of calories in wine it is important to count them in your daily dietary intake if you enjoy a glass of wine or two with a meal. However, it is also worthwhile to keep the number of calories in perspective. Compared to a cheeseburger the calories in wine appear almost negligible. A cheeseburger can have up to1000 calories and can include as much fat as a body might require in a month! At least wine is fat free. The calories come from the sugar and the carbohydrates. So wine in moderation can usually be included in a calorie-controlled diet.

The Benefits of Wine

Regardless of the calories contained in wine, there are many documented benefits to drinking it in moderation. Wine can enhance the food we eat and act as an aid to digestion. Red wine in particular has potential benefits in that it is believed to help protect against certain forms of cancer and heart disease. Studies have shown a reduction of 30%=9650% in heart disease of people who regularly drink a glass of red wine each night and a 20% reduction in death from certain cancers.

The health benefits of drinking wine are often attributed to the so-called "French Paradox", whereby the French =96 even with a diet high in fat =96 don't suffer from heart attacks at the same rate as North Americans. This has been attributed to their moderate, though steady, wine consumption.

So perhaps it's time to stop focusing on the calories in wine and instead focus on the health benefits ... in moderation, of course. <bio>Alison Stevens is an online author and maintains several wine interest websites including http://www.wine-globe.com/blog/ to benefit wine lovers with tips, techniques and information about wine and wine collecting. </bio>

For a very long time, cork was the preferred method to seal a bottle of wine. There has been much debate over the past few years as to what the best method is for sealing off a bottle, cork, plastic cork or screw caps.

Current estimates predict that roughly 6 percent of all wine bottled with a traditional cork will fall victim to TCA (2,4,6-Trichloroanisole), a bacteria that thrives in cork. Some of you might have even had a spoilt bottle of wine and not really noticed it. Even a very small amount of TCA in a bottle of wine can ruin it. Most become aware of TCA in quantities as small as 5 parts per trillion. When TCA is present in quantities high enough to be evident to a person, it comes across as 'musty' aromas and flavors. TCA in wine is not toxic, but the taste and aromas can be quite unsettling.

Another issue that seems to have people leaning away from traditional cork is the fact that cork can dry out and allow air to oxidize a bottle of wine. This can happen if a bottle is not stored correctly. Storing a bottle of wine on its side helps a cork remain moist and a moist cork expands better to seal the inside of the bottle. A dry cork shrinks allowing air to enter spoiling the wine.

Plastic corks have been created to help combat the problems being seen with real cork. Plastic does eliminate the problem of TCA, but plastic corks can have leaky seals which cause oxidation. Personally I have never had a problem with a leaky plastic cork, but it does happen. Another problem with plastic is that they can be very difficult to remove from a bottle compared to cork. Though this is not as detrimental as having a bottle of wine ruined with TCA, it can be very frustrating if you were looking forward to a lovely glass of Chardonnay and the plastic cork won't budge.

In an almost last ditch attempt at preventing wine from spoiling, some wine makers have resorted to screw caps for their bottles of wine. Not nearly as romantic as the popping sound a corked bottle makes, screw caps nonetheless are very effective in preventing wine from spoiling. Most Australian wines are no longer made with cork and have opted for this screw cap method because it's better at maintaining the taste of wine in the way the wine maker intended.

Screw cap bottles of wine are becoming more and more popular, and yes, while they are not as aesthetically pleasing and continue to hold the connotation of a cheap bottle of wine, a greater number of higher quality wines are opting for the screw cap to prevent spoilage. So the next time you are served a bottle of wine with a screw cap, think twice before brushing it off as a cheap wine. <bio>Ken Finnigan is the CEO of http://www.finestwineracks.com a website specializing in quality decorative wine racks and durable wine storage systems. </bio>

Ask around and you will know that most women have a huge collection of perfumes and fragrances. They have become such an essential part of our lives that many of us will not step out of the house without first dabbing a few drops of our favorite scent. However, do not be surprised if many people buy perfume not for the contents but for the beautiful bottles themselves! While pretty perfume bottles are aplenty, it is the antique perfume bottle that is most sought after. Given the unique history, artwork and precision of each antique piece, some collectors will not hesitate to fork out several thousand dollars just for it!

Archeologists have discovered intricate perfume bottles within the tombs of Egyptian Pharaohs, and it is believed that Egyptians were the first to incorporate fragrances and perfume into their cultural rituals. The most diverse materials, like gold, hard stones, glasses of colors and others had been used by the Egyptians to keep their perfumes. But the most used ones were made of alabaster that the neighbor desert of Libya provided them with.

The use of glass to create antique perfume bottles was not utilized until 1500 B.C. To possess a glass perfume bottle was quite an honor in those days as they were reserved for the wealthy. Perfume was used on a regular basis during ancient times in Rome, Greece and Venice, giving rise to various perfume bottle creations. Glass perfume bottles were created in England during the 16th century, followed by the emergence of Murano glassblowers during the 17th century. The Americas did not catch wind of the perfume bottle until the mid-1700s when the importation of these objects from England started.

It was not until the 18th century that perfume bottle designs were taken seriously. In the 1800s, designers in New England started to experiment with different colors, sizes and shapes, creating a myriad of beautiful antique perfume bottles that we see today. One designer even came up with a perfume bottle that resembled the Liberty Bell in 1876! Throughout the 1900s, collectors grouped perfume bottles by styles. As a collector, you may have come across styles and designs like the Steuban, Imperial, Victorian, Art Deco and Art Nouveau (glistening colors).

There are a wide variety of styles, cuts, and colors to select from when you are looking for the ideal antique perfume bottle to add to your collection. While lovely hand-painted scenes were prevalent on bottles in the early 1900s, gold details were used extensively on perfume bottles created during the Victorian era. Because some of the perfume bottles were small and so exquisite, they could even double up as a piece of jewelry. In fact, perfume bottles were extremely fashionable as decorations and enhancements during the 1880s.

There is a rich and interesting history behind each antique perfume bottle. Just invest a little bit of time to learn about the tips of choosing the right bottles and you will be on your way to a rewarding hobby! <bio>Complement your perfume bottles collection by wearing a Britney Spears Perfume - http://www.perfume321.com/ar/britney_spears_perfume.php Or, try a Calvin Klein Perfume - http://www.perfume321.com/ar/calvin_klein_perfume.php For even more free perfume information, visit http://www.perfume321.com </bio>

After a little research it is apparent that nobody really knows where the saying that you need to drink 8 cups of water per day comes from. Some people trace it back to a study in the 1980's, and other people claim that doctors starting telling people that amount because it was a good goal, but didn't have any scientific research to back it up with.

Either way, the point is clear, water does wonders for your body, and your brain. Water is well known to cleanse your body of harmful chemicals through your intestines and also throughout your urine tract. Without proper water intake, our bodies break down very quickly, in a matter of days. Without food, however, some people can live for a week or two. That just shows how important water is to our bodies.

Here are 3 quick tips for taking in more water.

1. Always have water available.

I like to buy the 12 ounce bottles of water and keep them in the fridge. Whenever I go to the gym I grab a bottle. On my way out the door to work, I grab a bottle. Before a trip that will be 30 minutes or longer, I grab a bottle. When I watch a movie, I grab a bottle.

Whenever I am sitting watching TV or a movie, I will keep the bottle in my hand with the lid off. I take a lot of little sips until the bottle is gone. A great way of making sure you drink more water is to make sure it is easily accessible.

2. Keep it cold.

I don't know many people who like to drink room temperature water, I sure don't. If you keep your water cold, you will drink more. I make sure there is always ice in my freezer, this make it very easy to have a cold glass of water anytime.

3. Chose water in restaurants.

Whenever I go out to eat, I always drink water with some lemon. The lemon adds a little spunk to the taste and the water is always nice, cold and refreshing. After a short time you will stop craving your old drink of choice and will begin to appreciate the taste, or lack of taste, that water provides.

Give water a shot and your body will be thankful! <bio>Brandon Hopkins is not only a water connoisseur but also the owner of Free Business Cards.
<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hummingbirds" rel="tag">Hummingbirds are beautiful yet very agile birds. The chance to see them very closely in the wild is somewhat rare. This is because like all wild animals they're not comfortable in the presence of humans. A way to eliminate this problem is to provide a place for them to find supplementary food. Choosing a Copper Hummingbird Feeder can be fun as they come in various shapes and sizes.

These feeders will not only give a decorative appearance to your garden but they'll bring a profusion of hummingbirds to investigate this source of food. One such hummingbird feeder is made from copper and crystal glass. The copper is entwined around the glass body of the feeder. The two feeder stations have feeding ports that are red flowers made from metal.

There is an also a 17inch long crystal tube shaped bottle. This Copper Hummingbird Feeder design has a long entwining copper stem with brass leaves hanging down. The copper and brass is shaped around the crystal tube body. The feeding ports are elongated red flowers that serve to attract the hummingbirds

Holland Hill Tweeter Totter also has some beautiful Copper Hummingbird feeder designs. These feeders come in the shape of narrow test tubes. Thin copper wire strands are wrapped in a diagonal pattern all around the tube. Two copper twisted strands serve as perches for the hummingbirds. When the birds alight on the perches they tilt the tubes with the nectar towards the hummingbirds.

Another variation of the Holland Hill Tweeter Totter is made for window feeding stations. Here 2 tubes have copper twisted around their bodies. Little red glass balls hang down from near the red feeding ports.

There is a hummingbird feeder that has the ability to catch the attention of the busy little birds. The copper base on this feeder is one of the main reasons for this. The Schrodt Facet Hummingbird Feeder is made entirely out of red cut-glass. The shape of this bottle somewhat resembles a prism. The base of the bottle is narrow. However the bottle widens as you go upwards. This allows you to store enough nectar to last for a few days.

The base of the feeder is made entirely of copper. This copper base reflects any light that is shining on it. As the reflected light may bounce off the red glass bottle, curious hummingbirds will definitely decide to come and investigate your garden that has a Schrodt Facet Copper Hummingbird Feeder in it.

As the main reason for buying a hummingbird feeder is to see these tiny birds in action, you must decide what Copper Hummingbird Feeder will look, and work best in your garden. After all, what you want most is to attract these beautiful jewel-toned birds to your garden. The decorative effect the Copper Hummingbird Feeder will have in your garden is just an added benefit. <bio>Author's Sites: http://dogi-food-recipes.blogspot.com , http://cat-food-recipes.blogspot.com , http://www.easyhomeremedy.com/pet_care/natural_pet_care_index.html </bio>

In the whole spectrum of promotional gifts, few things are more practical than bags. Everybody can use a bag to carry and store things. But "bags" is a huge category of items, and if you wish to pursue bags as a promotional item, you will want to narrow down exactly what kind of bag you want to offer, and what you hope for it to do for your employees or customers. That's why you should consider using bottle bags. Even bottle bags could give you several different choices, but it gives you a place to begin looking for something practical, convenient, and useful to your clients.

One popular kind of promotional bottle bags is the sports bag that comes with a water bottle holder. The bag is roomy enough to fill with gym clothes or sports equipment, and has a place for a water bottle on the outside of the bag. In this way, an athlete can reach down and grab his or her water without having to rummage through a bag full of gym clothes. Some larger duffel bags also have this feature of the water bottle holder on the outside, meaning they could also be called bottle bags.

Insulated lunch bags also come with bottles for water or other drinks. These promotional bottle bags have your imprint across both the lunch bag and the water bottle, and come in handy for both school and work. If you have a large population of students in your area, you could easily order these bottle bags in school colours and offer them as gifts. Your potential customers will see your imprint every time they go to eat a lunch or take a drink.

Another beautiful type of bottle bag is a wine bottle bag. These promotional bottle bags come in many different styles, but each of them can be made with your logo tastefully displayed on the front. Paper bags can be brightly or elegantly decorated to reflect the wine gift on the inside. Woven, canvas, natural fibre or knit bags can be used again and again by the person who gets them, with your logo part of it every time. There are double or triple wine bottle bags for sets of wine or wine accompanied by wine glasses, and insulated bottle bags for keeping wine chilled on your way to a party. Wine bottle bags can also be made of bamboo for a beautiful, durable, and biodegradable gift. You can even get a six bottle wine bottle bag that is constructed as a tote bag on wheels for easy transporting.

Some promotional bottle bags don't fall into any of the above categories. There are promotional bottle bags that allow you to carry your bottle of water across your shoulder when you hike or ride your bike. Some promotional bottle bags are like backpacks, but still keep your drink safe. Some are even shaped like t-shirts or have zippers up the size for easy removal of your drink. Whatever their form, bottle bags are a popular and useful gift for which your customers will thank you.<bio>Matt Franks is director of Fluid Branding, the UK's largest supplier of promotional bottle bags and other Promotional Products at www.fluidbranding.com.
As you may know bulletproof glass is glass that is capable of stopping all sorts of bullets fired at it. This type of glass is made by using a strong but transparent material such as polycarbonate thermoplastic. Sometimes it's constructed by using layers of laminated glass.

The polycarbonate layer is often put between layers of regular glass. A bullet will probably pierce the exterior glass layer, but will be stopped by the really strong polycarbonate layer before it can pierce the inner layer of glass. There's also what's called bullet resistant glass that's constructed of laminated glass layers. This is built from sheets of glass glued together using some sort of liquid rubber.

One-way Bullet Proof Glass

As technology advances in the field of bullet resistant glass we now have a new type of bullet proof glass called one-way bulletproof glass. These types of glasses are commonly used by armored cars.

The beauty of this glass is that it will resist incoming fire arms striking the outside of the glass, while allowing those on the other side of the glass, such as guards, fire from inside the armored car, through the glass at the exterior threat outside.

Usually One-way bulletproof glass is made up of two layers. A brittle layer on the outside and a flexible layer on the inside. If a bullet is fired from the outside it will hit the brittle layer first and will probably shatter an area of it. This shattering of the glass absorbs some of the bullet's energy, and spreads it out on a larger area. When the slowed down bullet hits the flexible layer, it will be stopped.

However, when someone fires a bullet from the inside it hits the flexible layer first. The bullet will then go through the flexible layer because its energy is focused on a smaller area. The brittle layer will then shatter outward because the inner layer flexes and doesn't stop the bullet's progress. <bio>Jeff Jefferson Auto Glass Site Auto Glass http://dediannonces.com </bio>
