What is the danger for us? We might answer that it is natural not to love an egotistical person. But what is our danger here? Are we losing self-worth, security, freedom, control or pleasure? Perhaps we are offended by our own egotism that reflects in the others' behavior?

If the others were five years old, would we be offended and outraged by their egotistical behavior? Or would we continue to love them, while we explained to them that this behavior is not pleasant and that we would prefer that they not behave in this way? We might even ignore them because they do not know better. Would we feel danger? Then why do we feel danger from an egotistical adult? What danger exists for us from that adult that does not exist from the child?

The answer is probably: No, there is no danger from an egotistical adult. Most probably we lose our love for egotistical persons, because we perceive them as "bad" and because they remind us of our own egotistical aspects.

We could love them even when they are egotistical and cold and uncaring once we realize that this behavior is a result of their fear, pain and inner emptiness. They cannot be happy inside to behaving in this way. They are lonely and not feeling love or unity with those around them.

They need our understanding and love - not our rejection and hate. We need to see them as children in need of love and understanding. We attract from others that which we perceive in them.

We are being asked in this case to connect with the divine consciousness behind the others' alienated and suffering mind and love them regardless of their behavior. We are being asked to be bigger than our own personality and connect with our soul nature in order to perceive their soul nature and love them as they are.

That does not mean that we do not ask them to become more interested in others and make an effort to care for and respond to others=82 needs. We can feel comfortable asking this, when we do not reject them but are sincerely seeking to help them feel better.

Loving those who ignore or do not respond to our needs

23. When they ignore my needs.

Why should others respond to or fulfill our needs? Why is this a prerequisite for us to love them? Why is this a prerequisite for us to feel that they love us? Are we always able to fulfill or respond to their needs? When we are unable to fulfill or respond to others needs, or choose not to, is it because we do not love them, or because we are obstructed by our needs, fears, and various inner obstacles?

Perhaps we can let go of this prerequisite for love and choose to love others even when they cannot or choose not to fulfill our needs. This would be a much higher level of love. Love without their satisfying our needs, such as self-worth, security, freedom, and pleasure - love simply for love=82s sake.

Loving someone who does not fulfill our needs is a wonderful opportunity to develop selfless love. This is our challenge in this scenario.

We often believe that others do not love us, when they do not respond to our needs. It may be that they do love us but are not able to respond because of their differing needs, values and perceptions or because they are controlled by various attachments and attachments. If we examine ourselves, we will find that we are not able to facilitate all of our loved ones needs, even though we do love them.

Again we have every right to communicate effectively and negotiate for what we need from those persons. But this can be done without the blackmail of withholding love if they do not respond. They are much more likely to respond when they feel that our love is there regardless of what they do.

If you can create something buzzworthy enough to get everyone buzzing about it and spreading the message virally, then you've succeeded in doing something that most marketers only dream of.

Let's take a look at buzzworthiness from the perspective of the psychology of human motivation. If we can grasp the concept of what motivates us as humans, then we'll have a better understanding of how to utilize the motivation factors to encourage the viral spread of our message through starting a buzz.

The famous psychologist Abraham Maslow presented what he called the "Hierarchy of Needs". According to this hierarchy, if a human doesn't have their basic needs met, then they will be motivated mostly by meeting those basic needs first, giving less importance to the other needs. Let's take a look at this hierarchy below:

1. Physiological needs: Food, water, shelter, and sex. 2. Safety: Freedom from the threat of physical and emotional harm. 3. Social Needs: Friendship, belonging, and love. 4. Esteem Needs: Achievement, recognition, and reputation. 5. Self-Actualization: Truth, meaning, and wisdom.

After fulfilling one group of needs starting with physiological needs, then we will become more motivated to fulfill the next set of needs, which graduates us to the next set of needs, until we fulfill self-actualization at the top of the hierarchy. This can essentially be seen as a scale of motivation. The things that motivate us are the things that fulfill one or more of our needs.

So here's an example of how to easily create a buzz: Give out free food to famine stricken people. Those peoples primary motivation would be to attain food, and if you provide it free, they will be buzzing to get it, because it fulfills their basic needs. Does this example have much relevance to modern marketing? What do you think would happen if you gave out free hamburgers to people at a festival? You'd create a buzz and people would remember you. People walking away with their free burgers would meet other people and say "They're giving out free burgers over there", thus propagating your message virally via word of mouth and creating a buzz.

Okay I admit, there's another concept here that makes it buzzworthy. The concept is to have something unique about your message/product/service. People will buzz about free burgers because A) it fulfills one of their basic needs, and B) the offer is unique because it's free. If burgers were always free, then there would be nothing to buzz about.

For people that have their physiological and safety needs met, it is easier to create a buzz through the motivation to meet their social and esteem needs. A few of the greatest examples of viral marketing such as Hotmail, MyJournal, MySpace, and Friendster are all examples of this. These companies created a buzz because they offered something unique that fulfill the social and esteem needs through social communications, and social networking.

In these cases, the word of mouth buzz gets spread even faster because by spreading the word they fulfill their social and esteem needs at the same time as fulfilling it from the service they're spreading the word about. It works the same even with the example of free burgers. When someone walks away with a free burger, they are inclined to go tell their friends about it, because it will boost their reputation, recognition, and strengthen their friendship. Their friends will be excited and happy to get a free burger thanks to you being the one to tell them about it. This is a key point in buzzworthiness and if understood and implemented with the right ideas and the right messages, can increase your buzz exponentially.

If you have a message, product, or service that is unique and fulfills one or more of our human needs, then you are on your way to creating a buzz. If it is something that is so good that people's reputation and recognition becomes boosted amongst those they tell about it, then it's definitely buzzworthy! The only thing left is to tell people to spread the word about it, and make it as easy as possible for them to spread it (ie. Viral tools such as tell-a-friend scripts, hand outs, pamphlets, e-mail forwarding, articles they can freely publish, etc...).

The second thing you need to do is to simply begin pursuing your passion. Don't let the question of 'What direction do I go or how do I start' stop you from actually starting. Most likely, there is some type of organization, group, or online presence that is doing something very similar to what you have a passion to do. Get involved with these people. They have probably already laid much of the groundwork in developing what you are passionate about. You can then jump right in and start helping them.

By being around these people you will begin to develop and fine-tune exactly what your purpose is. As a matter of fact, your initial purpose for getting involved may change somewhat as you begin to develop your greatness.

That's why it is not so important to know everything about what you want to do before you start doing it. It's kind of like this: Imagine you are in Los Angeles and you want to drive to Florida. You aren't real sure where you want to go in Florida but you know Florida is where you need to go. You have two options:

1. You can research, study, ask people, look at maps, and all kinds of things to try and find out the best way to get to Florida. You are not going to leave until you know exactly how to get there, the dangers involved, the speed traps to watch out for, where to best rest stops are...you get my point. The problem with this is that you will never know everything about how to get to Florida.

2. You can just start driving. You may ask one or two people you meet along the way which road to use and then just go. On your journey you will meet people who will help you with the best routes, and they will even tell you of places they went to and experiences they had on their way to Florida. By the time you get there, you will have gained so much knowledge that you now know exactly where you want to go in Florida.

The point is this, you can sit around and wait for the perfect opportunity to fulfill your purpose or you can simply start out on your journey and, along the way, you will discover and fulfill your purpose.

Career contentment is not dependent on other people or material things but on how you reason to recognize the acceptable middle ground, and also your choice of work and whether it fulfills your calling and purpose. When you're in the right job, you can be content even if not happy or entirely satisfied. It's a state of mind that is completely within your control, and so too is your choice of employers and meaningful work.



Contentment is not just a matter of doing what you love but intentionally putting yourself into situations where you can love what you do with or without the satisfactions. It's why some people are content to stay in jobs others find dissatisfying, and why some people choose to step down from highly desirable jobs. They intend to fulfill their calling and prefer not to ignore or waste their talents in exchange for transient satisfactions.



Career contentment has nothing to do with settling for less but rather establishing a priority mindset that enables you to think clearly and to endure in order to have the career you desire, or to courageously pursue what gives your career contentment. You will unless you're working just for the satisfactions, in which case you can stay and complain, but how content is that?

If you lack job satisfaction it's because you or the employer failed to fulfill some condition or expectation, and there's a good possibility you may never be completely satisfied. However, if you lack contentment, it's because you don't know how to recognize it or you're in the wrong job. Here's what you do:

1.Learn to reason and recognize the acceptable middle ground in any situation. Dissatisfactions are inevitable in an imperfect world and it's unrealistic to depend exclusively on others to make you satisfied.

2.Honor your genuine callings by recognizing your contentment where you are, or by courageously pursuing it elsewhere. It's your life and career and neither you nor the employer will benefit by your complaints or wasting your talents in the wrong job or career.

3.Satisfactions are great but are here today and could be gone tomorrow. Stick with work made meaningful by the use of your talents to fulfill your calling and purpose and avoid jobs that require talents you don't have or are not motivated to use.

Although there is more than one way to get access to your equity, a home equity line of credit, often referred to as a HELOC, may be your best option. One reason is that you have access to the money in equity, but you do not pay interest on it until you actually draw it out and use it. Initially, when you apply, you are given a credit limit that sets the amount of cash you can get. You are then given access to the money through a credit card or checking account.

A time limit is also set in which you can draw the cash out of the account. This means that you can only use the cash in your home equity line of credit for a limited time - which could be up to 11 years.

The interest that you are paying during the draw period is calculated on a daily basis (usually). The overall time length including both the draw period and the payment period are usually calculated on a 30-year time frame. As you draw money out, you are only paying the interest on the amount used.

A HELOC can work best for you if you have a number of projects that you have the money for, but do not know exactly how much you will need. You can use the money to take that vacation or cruise you have always wanted - to Bermuda, Alaska, Europe, or wherever, to make renovations or additions to your home, to pay for college, buy a car, debt consolidation, or to cover some medical expenses - you decide.

You do need to know about how repayment will take place. Some lenders will require a single balloon payment to be made for the whole amount at the end of the draw period. This will mean that you need to refinance it. Others will simply figure out how much cash you used and then calculate your payments for the payment period - which, in most cases, will fully amortize the home equity line of credit mortgage.

HELOC's often have no closing costs. You do, however, need to find out about the margin that is a percentage of interest above the APR. It is permanent and could double your interest on the loan.
