Flexible fuel vehicles are just like an average car in the sense that they use a single gas tank. But it can run on a mixture of gasoline and alcohol based fuel. Any car made after 1988 can run on a mixture of 10% ethanol and 90% gasoline. A flexible fuel vehicle can run on a mixture of up to 85% ethanol. Modifications are needed for this ratio as alcohol based fuels are corrosive.

Fuel tanks and engines must be modified in flexible fuel vehicles. In the US, there is a special indicator used that analyzes the ratio of the mix and adjusts itself accordingly to make sure that the fuel is burned clean. This is done by adjusting the timing and the fuel injection and happens automatically. Many flexible fuel vehicles are also required to use a special engine oil.

Why use ethanol?

Ethanol offers motorists an environmentally friendly alternative to using fossil based gasoline fuels, since ethanol is much more environmentally friendly and a renewable resource it seems to be an ideal alternative fuel for an environmentally friendly motorist. Studies show that using a mix of 10% ethanol reduces carbon monoxide levels by up to 17% , CO2 emissions by 4.2% and hydrogen emissions by up to 5%. By using a mixture of 85% ethanol greenhouse gas effects are reduced by up to 37%

What countries are using ethanol fuel?

There are three countries currently using ethanol in their vehicles - US, Brazil and Sweden.

* Brazil has been using ethanol mixtures in their fuel since the 1970's and it is required by law that all fuel mixes be at a ratio of 29-25% ethanol.

* Sweden is the only country that has flexible fuel vehicles in Europe, although there are plans to introduce fuel mixes of up to 85% in other European countries.

* US has many cars designed to run on 85% ethanol fuel mixes. These flexible fuel cars make up 4 million of the cars in the US, although less than 1% of these vehicles are currently running on a mixture of 85% ethanol.

The future of ethanol based fuels

At the moment the future of ethanol fuel mixtures seems a little bleak. Until the fuel companies can make the mixtures of gasoline and ethanol fuel mixes more efficient and provide a superior mileage, people will still continue using gasoline and small mixes of ethanol such as a 10% ratio. Once this obstacle has been corrected, ethanol will be more widely used in flexible fuel vehicles.

There is potential for future growth in the ethanol industry. Last year an energy bill was created that is calling for refiners to begin using more renewable fuels. The national ethanol industry currently produces more than 4 billion gallons of ethanol fuel per year with more plants being built all the time. The ethanol industry is definitely set to sky-rocket in coming years. <bio>Simon Oldmann is an avid writer and a green activist, he has been writing about Ethanol use since the growing popularity of Ethanol these days, Simon writes for http://ethanol.zupatips.com at http://ZupaTips.com. </bio>

Let's face it the way things are going it doesn't look like the price of fuel is going to drop anytime soon. In fact it looks like things are going to get a lot worse. With this in mind many drivers are on the lookout for devices that improve fuel economy and help them get more MPG for their vehicles (whether that be cars, trucks or SUVs).

For those who can afford it, trading in their existing vehicle for a more fuel efficient model,( as most newer vehicles get more MPG than an older one would) or one of the new Hybrid cars seems to be the way to go. However the majority of us, who's budget doesn't stretch to a new car will have to rely on devices that improve fuel economy to get more MPG from their old bangers.

During this fuel crisis (as in any crisis) you will get people coming up with scams and schemes to relieve you of your hard earned cash. Scams claiming to have the latest gadgets that will get you the highest MPG from any car or vehicle. Sadly most of these gadgets are shams or myths, some of which have been around for years and are just now popping up again with a new lease of life thanks to the internet.

However along with the more ridiculous claims of gadgets, gizmos, and devices that improve fuel economy, there are some that just may work. Listed below are some of the more promising ones. Now I'm not claiming that these will get more MPG for your car or improve your fuel economy in any significant way, but after reading up on them, they at least seem more practical than most that I have come across.

Devices that improve fuel economy.

1)Carburettor Mixture Enhancers. This is a device that is installed between the intake manifold and your carburettor, and is supposed to improve the process of vaporising the air/fuel mixture before being burned in the engine.
2)Liquid Mixture Enhancers. These work on a similar principle of the Carburettor Mixture Enhancers but are in liquid form and mixed with your regular fuel.
3)Killer Wires. These are used in replacement of your ordinary spark plugs and are claimed to improve the spark by creating magnetic fields and so improve combustion.
4)Fuel Additives. Such as xylene which is added to your fuel tank along with your regular fuel to give you better fuel economy and get more MPG.
5)Water to Energy Converters. These are small Hydrogen Generators for cars and use electrolysis to produce Hydrogen Oxygen Gas which is mixed with your regular fuel mixture and results in a more efficient burning fuel.

These are just 5 of the devices that improve fuel economy and help you get more MPG. There are hundreds if not thousands more out there. As I mentioned before a lot of these are just scams and not all of them are going to work, but these 5 at least sound practical, and anything that could get more MPG for your car has got to be worth a try.<bio>Discover for yourself how to make real gas mileage improvements and cut your gasoline consumption in half with simple Step-By-Step guides to show you how.
With the fluctuating price of oil, and gas prices at the pumps going up more often than going down, people have been thinking about hydrogen for cars. In particular they have been asking how to build a Hydrogen Fuel Cell so they can run cars on water as well as gas.

Hydrogen Fuel Cell cars, sometimes called water powered cars are nothing new, the technology to run cars on water as a supplement to your ordinary gasoline has been around for years. And now the internet is flooded with guides and plans showing you how to build a hydrogen fuel cell, or (how to make a hydrogen generator for your car as it comes down to the same thing.)

I think that hydrogen fuel cell cars are going to catch on in a really big way. Not only are they very easy to make, but also cheap enough for anyone to build one. You can convert your cars into water power cars for as little as $100, and all the parts you will need can be bought from local hardware stores or at auto stores.

So how does hydrogen for cars work?

The basis behind hydrogen fuel cell cars is a simple process called electrolysis this is the act of breaking water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen to create a gas called HHO gas or Brown's gas. This gas is then mixed with gasoline in your cars engine and burned in the usual way. But as this mixture burns a lot more efficiently you get a smoother running engine and more mpg.

Basically what you will need to build a DIY hydrogen fuel cell are just a few simple parts. These include a small container to hold water, one that will fit under your cars hood in the engine compartment. You will also need some baking soda (to act as a catalyst) some electrical wire, some steel plates, glass pieces, and a few other items as listed in the different guides.

Once these parts are put together in the correct way the electricity from your cars engine is used to power the whole thing. This electrical current starts the electrolysis process which produces the HHO gas. This gas rises to the top of the water container where it is sucked up through some tubing and mixed with the regular gasoline + air mixture. This combined fuel mixture burns with up to 3 times as much power as ordinary gasoline. This is what gives you a more efficient engine which in turn allows you to get more mpg.

So if you are one of the many people who are fed up paying high gas prices and want to know how to build a hydrogen fuel cell to run cars on water as well as gas, then I would recommend that you make a DIY hydrogen fuel cell. Using one of the downloadable guides from the internet to show you how to convert your cars into hydrogen fuel cell cars you will be able to get more mpg and save a fortune on gasoline.<bio>Discover the top 3 guides to show you How To Buid A Hydrogen Fuel Cell to run cars on water and get more mpg. .CLICK HERE NOW http://www.MoreGasMPG.com/saveongas.html</bio>

If you are one of the many drivers looking for ways to get more MPG from their cars then you have probably heard stories of Hydrogen Fuel Cars and how to run a car on water. These stories may sound like something from a Sci Fi magazine but hydrogen fuel cars are nothing new. In fact not only can you buy hydrogen car kits but there are also several downloadable manuals showing you precisely how to run a car on water.

Like I said, the know how to run a car on water is nothing new and has been around for many years, but due to the present oil crisis it has had a new lease of life. Hydrogen fuel cars (or cars that run on water) are just ordinary cars which are modified with a simple device to turn a small amount of water into HHO gas (sometimes called Browns gas).

This gas does not actually power the engine, but dramatically improves the efficiency of your ordinary fuel by being mixed with it. HHO gas is produced by the process of electrolysis using the current from your cars battery. This gas is then taken into the inlet manifold where it is mixed with your regular fuel and burned in the usual way.

In a normal engine, combustion is not very efficient; this is due to the large size of fuel droplets in the mixture. When HHO gas is added the oversized fuel droplets are split into smaller ones making a much finer mixture. The resulting very fine Hydrogen enhanced fuel burns more efficiently and powerfully, allowing you to get more MPG. This finer fuel mixture is said to be 3 times more powerful than ordinary gasoline.

Very little water is actually used for this process, about a quart of water is sufficient to provide up-to 1800 gallons of HHO gas. This can literally last for months allowing you to get more MPG as well as lowering exhaust emissions. It is also claimed that where Hydrogen fuel cars burn more cleanly they reduce the carbon build up in your engine, so increasing its running life.

There are several Hydrogen car kits available with a price tag of around $200, there are also many downloadable manuals and guides that give you all the information you need to make your own Hydrogen Generator. These step by step guides tell you how to obtain all the parts needed from local garages or Auto stores, and how to put them together easily with just a couple of hours work. This way you are getting the same result as the Hydrogen car kits but a lot cheaper.

So if you are trying to find out how to run a car on water
And get more MPG for your car then one of these guides seems like the best way to go. Once you have your guide you will be able to cheaply and easily convert your own cars into Hydrogen fuel cars and save a fortune at the gas pumps.<bio>Discover for yourself how to run a car on water and get more MPG with simple Step-By-Step guides to show you how.
Ethanol is becoming a very clear option for the alternative fuel market, as more and more countries start using and studying the ways to make ethanol use more popular, this is one kind of revolution that will change the fuel industry forever.

To have a better understanding of what ethanol distillation is, let's get into the basics of ethanol.

Ethanol fast Facts

•Systematic Name: Ethanol •Other Names: Ethyl alcohol, grain alcohol, hydroxyethane, EtOH •Molecular Formula: E2H6O •Physically, ethanol may be described as a colorless, flammable, slightly toxic chemical compound that has a distinctive perfume-like smell. •It is produced from sugar cane and used as automotive fuel in Brazil. Ethanol made out of corn, on the other hand, is being used widely as a gasoline additive and direct fuel in the United States. Straw, meanwhile, is being used to manufacture ethanol as well. •Ethanol is currently the leading biofuel provider in Europe.

Ethanol Distillation

Most of us already have an idea on how distillation happens. Let's have the production of distilled water as an example. When water is subjected to heat, it is expected that steam would conduct away from a tube. A tube looped and oriented downward and allowed to cool would yield condensed vapor and eventually, water.

For ethanol, simple distillation will not be enough. Fractional distillation would be the best choice. The latter is used for separating mixtures of liquids with varying boiling points - like water and alcohol.

To start the distillation of ethanol, consider the following steps:

1.Prepare a small beaker and/or a simple glass half-filled with the rather miscible mixture of water and alcohol.

2.Cover the beaker or the simple glass jug with a funnel or something similar, so that a balloon can be placed to suck air out of the beaker.

3.After some time, the alcohol vapor and the steam in the mixture just above the liquid in the beaker or glass will reach a state of equilibrium. This should be relative of temperature and even pressure of the environment.

4.With regard to equilibrium, change can no longer be observed in the vapor to liquid ratio in the water to alcohol ratio within either the vapor or liquid mixture.

5.However, because of alcohol's higher volatility, the ratio of water to alcohol in the vapor state is greater than that of the ratio in liquid state.

6.The occurrence of liquid-against-vapor-states permits the distillation from an escalating concentration of alcohol from the water and alcohol mixture.

And finally, by having sequences of repeated evaporation as well as condensation, a higher alcohol concentration is achieved from the re-condensation of recent vapor state.

This is since the alcohol inside the vapor mixture is at a greater concentration than it was from the liquid mixture from which it was changed into a vapor state. <bio>Anyone who is interested in the future of fuel, fuel prices and cleaner and alternative fuel resource should know something about Ethanol, visit http://ethanol.zupatips.com to learn more. </bio>

Gas prices may have dropped by a couple of cents over the last few days but with the current trends you can bet that it won't be long before they go up yet again. The days of cheap oil and gasoline are sadly a thing of the past. So if you have any sense you should still be looking for ways to make gas mileage improvements on your vehicles by any means that you can. Along with the latest and most promising ways to improve gas mileage and get more mpg are the hydrogen fuel cell cars.

Hydrogen fuel cell cars are just standard cars that have been converted to use water as a supplement to ordinary gasoline. This is achieved with the use of a DIY hydrogen fuel cell or (homemade hydrogen generator), a small device that provides HHO gas. This HHO gas is then mixed with the ordinary gasoline + air mixture in your cars engine. As this mixture of gases burns with a lot more efficiency and power it gives you fantastic gas mileage improvements. (Notice that I said "supplement" as there are some claims out there that suggest you can run your cars on water alone, which is ridiculous)

One of the best things about hydrogen fuel cell cars (apart from the great gas mileage improvements you get) is that you can convert your existing vehicle easily and cheaply. You do not need to take it to a garage or have a mechanic working on it for days on end. With just a few inexpensive parts that you can buy at any hardware store, and a simple to follow guide to show you how to build a hydrogen fuel cell you can convert your cars in a matter of hours.

Once you have converted your cars into hydrogen fuel cell cars you can expect to get gas mileage improvements of between 35% and 50%. You will also notice that you have a smoother ride and a lot more power, this is due to the cleaner burn that you get, and you will also expect to get less wear on your engine and a lot less harmful exhaust emissions being pumped into the atmosphere.

Another plus with the DIY hydrogen fuel cell is that it is completely reversible, so if you ever wanted to take it out again you can do so without causing any damage to your engine. But with the great gas mileage improvements that you will get the only reason I can see you wanting to remove it for are if you sell your car and want to keep your homemade hydrogen generator to use in your next vehicle.

To learn more about hydrogen fuel cell cars or to find a first class guide to show you how to build a hydrogen fuel cell you should be able to find more than enough information on the internet. With everyone trying to find ways to make gas mileage improvements to their vehicles the DIY hydrogen fuel cell has really caught on and there are dozens of good guides to show you exactly how to go about it.<bio>Discover the top 3 guides to show you How To Build A Hydrogen Fuel Cell to run cars on water and get more mpg.CLICK HERE NOW http://www.MoreGasMPG.com/saveongas.html</bio>

You may feel proud of your truck or car, as it displays shiny paintwork with a beautiful finish. The truth is most of the fuel is a waste in different forms such as the exhaust gases, carbon deposits and heat. All these hamper the engine's performance.

Car owners spend many dollars at fuel pumps constantly fueling their cars. Almost half of what they spend goes waste and goes up in fumes. This way, you not only lose your hard-earned money, but also disturb the environment, as your car emits the exhaust gases. Fuel prices have gone up, and hence for reducing the financial strain on fuel purchases, you need to find ways to improve the car's mileage.

Methods:

1. You need to check the air filter daily to either replace or clean it. Dirty or clogged air filter lessens the oxygen content present in the fuel. This interferes with the fuel mixture that causes the air filter to burn and brings down power and performance of the engine.

2. The mileage also depends on tire pressures of your vehicle. Hence, you need to make sure that pressures in tires are accurate, because under-inflated tires lessen the mileage of your car.

3. Take your car for servicing whenever necessary. You may use engine oil that is energy conserving, and which improves the consumption of fuel and reduces friction.

4. Let a qualified mechanic test your car brakes. If car brakes are sticking or binding, there is no doubt you are driving with brakes on. This affects the fuel consumption seriously.

5. Use the right type of fuel for your car. Car owners have to use the accurate octane rating recommended by the automobile dealer or provider. Do not waste money on using any octane fuel that is highly rated.

6. Car drivers need to give up aggressive driving practices. Due to quick acceleration and applying brakes hard, there is a disturbance in fuel economy. Try to use the accelerator smoothly and apply soft brakes as much you can to the engine.

7. You may lower the consumption of fuel using devices for car mileage. Devices such as hydrogen car kits are available on the market. Hydrogen car kit turns water from reservoir into gasoline. This artificial fuel mixes with the fuel present in your car's fuel tank and dually powers the engine. In addition, the mixture burns more cleanly and efficiently and helps you save 35% of fuel consumption.

Advice To Car Owners:

Individuals have to understand and learn these ways to improve gasoline mileage for their cars. You may try to implement many of the methods for a month and assess your car's performance. By taking some preventive steps, you are sure to save on money and improve your car's fuel efficiency.<bio>Save on gas with the best gas credit cards and find more of Tom's work at FINDgascards.</bio>

Did you know that there is a simple and cheap way to improve gas mileage for your cars? And I don't mean that you can improve gas mileage by just one or two miles per gallon, I'm talking about a hydrogen fuel cell for cars, a technology that makes it possible to run cars on water as a supplement to ordinary gasoline. And although it sounds a bit like rocket science it is in fact possible for anyone to make a DIY Hydrogen fuel Cell so that they too can run cars on water.

A DIY hydrogen fuel cell is basically a small homemade hydrogen generator that anyone can put together and install in their own cars. With a few inexpensive parts and materials and the help of a simple instruction guide it is possible to make a DIY hydrogen fuel cell for as little as $100. All the parts needed can be obtained from local hardware stores and auto shops, and the instruction guides can be found on the internet. (There is a link at the end of this article showing you the top 3)

So how does a hydrogen fuel cell for cars help to improve gas mileage?

As I said a DIY hydrogen fuel cell is a small homemade hydrogen generator. A hydrogen generator operates on the principle of electrolysis, a process where electricity is used to break water molecules down into hydrogen and oxygen to create a gas called HHO gas or sometimes referred to as Brown's gas. This HHO gas is then mixed with the regular gasoline + air mixture in your cars engine. And as this mixture of gases burns with a lot more power and efficiency you get more MPG.

So what are the advantages of making a DIY hydrogen fuel cell for your car?

As well as being a great way to improve gas mileage and saving hundreds of dollars on gasoline there are many other benefits of making a DIY hydrogen fuel cell.

1)Your engine will burn a lot more cleanly with less harmful exhaust emissions being pumped into the atmosphere, which contributes to the greenhouse effect that causes global warming.

2)You will notice that you have greater performance and power from your engine due to the more efficient burn of gases.
3)Your engine will receive a lot less wear and tear when compared with a regular engine that burns gasoline alone. And with less carbon build up, the running life of your engine is greatly extended and this cuts down on the expense of repairs and mechanics bills.

4)Not only is it easy and cheap to make a DIY hydrogen fuel cell for your car or truck but it is also completely reversible. So if you ever want to sell your car you can remove it without causing any damage, this will allow you to install it in your next vehicle. This way you can continue to improve gas mileage on any car that you own.

So if you are looking for ways to improve gas mileage on your vehicles you should definitely consider making a DIY hydrogen fuel cell. Not only will you be able to run cars on water and save hundreds of dollars on gasoline bills, you will also be doing your bit to help the planet by cutting down on the exhaust emissions you create when driving.<bio>Discover the top 3 guides to show you How To Build A DIY Hydrogen Fuel Cell to run cars on water and get more mpg.CLICK HERE NOW http://www.MoreGasMPG.com/saveongas.html</bio>

LPG, otherwise also known as Liquefied Petroleum Gas, is used as fuel, especially for vehicles such as cars and motorcycles. It is actually a mixture of hydrocarbon gases. LPG is also used as an aerosol propellant and refrigerant to avoid damage to the ozone layer (previously caused by other chemicals). There are varieties of LPG - such as propane gas and butane gas - and each of them has its own properties and usage. The main source of LPG is usually from fossil fuel, found underground. In order to obtain LPG, there are factories for refining crude oil and streams of gas and fuel from the ground. The production of LPG involves refining petroleum or crude oil, and was introduced in 1912.

There are many uses for LPG, especially propane gas and butane gas. First, LPG is used to fuel vehicles. The reason people are using LPG as fuel for their vehicles is because it burns cleaner than petrol and diesel. However, the only down side is it may damage the valve and shorten its life (although this is hotly disputed). Still, it is an excellent choice of fuel for vehicles. There are many gas stations providing LPG as one of the fuels on offer. If you need a 'clean' fuel, LPG would be the best choice compared to other types of fuel.

Another use is as a refrigerant. Propane gas and butane gas are used to make hydrocarbon refrigerants. Hydrocarbons are known to be more energy efficient and cheaper than other chemicals, which is why it is suitable to be used as refrigerants. CFCs have a very bad impact on the ozone, as it damages the ozone layer thus increasing the green house effect and global warming (again, this too is hotly disputed).

Another popular use is as a cooking fuel. LPG is very popular, especially among countries like India and other Asian countries. LPG is used as a cooking fuel for households and even businesses such as restaurants. As for propane, it is more popularly being used as fuel for barbeques and portable stoves. This is because propane has a low boiling point, so it will vaporize once it is released from the container. Butane, on the other hand, is famously bottled as fuel for lighters and deodorants. When propane and butane combine together, they become LPG.

Believe it or not, LPG and renewable energy can work side by side - especially in colder seasons such as winter, when there is lack of sunlight for a solar panel to generate enough power for heating. At these times, LPG can be used as a back-up or secondary fuel in generating the energy for the household. For example, in order to heat water in winter, LPG is used alongside a solar panel to provide enough energy for this purpose.

Overall, LPG is a good choice of fuel, especially for vehicles such as cars if you want to save on fuel and have a cleaner burning fuel when compared to petrol and diesel). However, if your vehicles are not suitable for LPG fuel, you will need to modify your vehicles at an authorised dealer.<bio>Flogas is the business since 1984 and also the largest suppliers for LPG. There are multiple purposes like LPG fuel and different chemical products, cooking fuel etc; It has become the best choice in markets of UK.</bio>

Have you ever caught yourself wondering if there was an effective way for you to increase your fuel efficiency in an environment of ever increasing petroleum prices? The fact of the matter is that car companies are both going to make you pay if you want to save money. You could invest in an efficient hybrid vehicle, but chances are you are not willing to pay a thousand of dollars in premiums for long-term savings in gas prices. On the other hand, you could utilize premium fuel, but the savings in efficiency will be negated by the extra high price tag. So, is there a viable solution for the average consumer who is suffering at the pump? Yes there is. It is time you understood how a hydrogen fuel kit can help you save gas.

You may be scratching your head wondering what a hydrogen fuel kit is and more importantly if it can really help you save gas. In order to understand the viability of the hydrogen fuel kit as a fuel efficiency increasing device, you first need to know what it is and what it does. Only then can you attempt to understand how it will increase your fuel savings at the pump.

Firstly, a hydrogen fuel kit is essentially an on board device that generates hydrogen on demand. The source of the hydrogen is water. The way hydrogen is extracted from the water is via electrolysis, which involves running an electrical current from the alternator of your vehicle through the water reservoir which will split the water atoms, releasing hydrogen and oxygen. This gas, which is a mixture of oxygen and hydrogen is then transferred via a tube to the air intake and is drawn into the engine along with the air. It is within the conduction chamber of the engine that the hydrogen fuel kit affects the burning patterns of your fuel and increases your efficiency.

So, how exactly can using vehicle power to split water into hydrogen and oxygen, and then feeding these gases into your combustion chamber possibly increase your fuel efficiency? The secret lies in the fact that the average internal combustion engine is exceedingly inefficient. It is because of this inefficient extraction of energy from your expensive fuel that the on board hydrogen fuel kit can help you save gas. The new gas savings occur because by feeding hydrogen into your fuel air mix, you will increase the efficiency of the burning of fuel itself. More than 50% of your fuels power is lost in the form of heat, vibration, and non-burnt fuel. It is from this 50% deficit in efficiency which you are drawing the extra gas efficiency by enhancing the burning of the fuel. When more of your gas is utilized due to the inclusion of hydrogen, your car can run on a leaner fuel air ratio.

Installing a hydrogen fuel kit into your car is a cheap, cost-saving way of helping the environment. It is the ultimate win-win situation in a petrol dependent world that is hungry for an answer to the ongoing energy crisis.<bio>Click Here to learn how to run your car on water today.
When you have your nitro fuel ready for your RC car, the next thing you need to know is how to keep it in proper storage. But when you have already decided the blend of fuel you want to use for your car's engine, it's also important to make sure that the fuel you have selected is working properly or in other words, easily tunes your car. If it doesn't do that or if for some reason there are problems in running your car, don't even think twice in changing the fuel.

On with what should be done for nitro fuels. It's advisable to always keep the fuel in lock tight containers. A good explanation for this is evaporation. The reason is because when the air gets in the container, it'll cause evaporation or condensation which could ruin the fuel. When this happens, the damage on your engine's car could cause you your exhaust systems since the engine will run too hot.

Also, avoid storing your fuel in a room where temperature varies almost constantly. This will still damage the fuel and since it's advisable to maintain the normal state of your fuel, be sure that it doesn't shift to hot and then cold and hot again every other hour when it comes to room temperature.

Another factor important for fuel storage is the light. You have to make sure that you keep your fuel away from the light. If you expose your fuel to direct sunlight or in a bright room, the nitro methane ingredient in the fuel will degrade and this will cause poor running condition of your RC car later on when put in use. Be sure that you keep the fuel in a cool, dark place with stable temperature.

And of course, when you have been keeping fuel for more than a year or more than a year, it's better to dispose it. Using fuel kept for an indefinite time may cause harm to your car's engine and the guarantees offered by manufacturers would have surely lapsed already so there's no point in keeping an old fuel. Make sure you replace yours regularly. <bio>Make sure that you're geared up with all the important information regarding RC cars.
Do you want to know how you can beat the high gas prices and get more MPG for your car? Well its simple really, if you make a Hydrogen Generator you can convert all your cars into water power cars. These cars use water as a supplement by turning it into HHO gas (or Browns Gas) which is mixed with your regular gasoline to give you huge gas mileage improvements.

Interested? Well before I tell you where to find the best guides and instructions to make a Hydrogen Generator let me give you a simple run down on the whole Homemade Hydrogen Generator principle. I'm no scientist so I will explain it in simple easy to understand layman's terms.

Firstly. Why should you make a Hydrogen Generator for your car in the first place?

In a normal engine the fuel combustion is very poor and wasteful; this is mainly due to the large size of fuel droplets in the fuel air mixture. When HHO gas is added the oversized droplets are split into much smaller ones making a much finer mixture. This Hydrogen enhanced fuel mixture burns a lot more efficiently as it is said to be 3 times more powerful than ordinary gasoline. So a more efficient fuel allows you to get more MPG.

Secondly. How does a Homemade Hydrogen Generator work?

Basically a Homemade Hydrogen Generator consists of a small vessel of water installed under the hood of your car, this vessel also contains some steel plates, and added to this is a catalyst such as baking soda. These parts together with a few others are then wired up to your cars battery which provides the electricity needed to power the whole thing.

What happens when this is all installed properly is a process called electrolysis, where electricity is used to change a small amount of water into HHO gas. As water is made up of Hydrogen and Oxygen the Hydrogen atoms get separated from the Oxygen atoms, basically converting the water into Hydrogen gas.

This Hydrogen gas is then taken into the inlet manifold of your cars engine where it is mixed with the ordinary gasoline/air mixture. This combination of ordinary gas and Hydrogen gas is then burned in your engine in the usual way, but as I said before, it burns a lot more efficiently and with more power and this is what gives you the great gas mileage improvements.

Lastly. How expensive is it to make a Hydrogen Generator?

What if I told you that you could make a Homemade Hydrogen Generator for less than $150, and this includes the full instruction guides as well as all the parts that you will need. And these are not specialist parts that are hard to find or have to be ordered, everything you will need to make a Hydrogen Generator can be obtained from your local garage or Auto Store.

There are many downloadable guides available on the internet that will show you how to make a Hydrogen Generator for your car and I have reviewed what I think are the top ones. To check them out for yourself just visit my website by clinking onto the link. So just what are you waiting for? It has never been easier to make a Hydrogen Generator and convert your cars into water power cars. Not only will you get great gas mileage improvements, you will also have the satisfaction of knowing that you did it yourself. And as no previous mechanical knowledge is needed anyone can do it.<bio>Find out for yourself just how easy it is to make a Hydrogen Generator and convert your cars into water power cars with simple step by step guides to show you how.
LPG is the latest trend in generating energy for vehicles. More and more cars have been modified to accommodate the use of LPG. Why does everyone want to use LPG instead of petrol? Because, people can save more money when they use LPG. LPG is derived from refining petroleum. LPG is also created by combining propane and butane.

For example, propane gas and butane gas are refined from petroleum before combining together to create LPG. To create LPG, the proportion of the gases must be in a particular balance which varies depending on the weather conditions. For example, when it is cold, LPG will require more propane gas to heat your home but when it is warmer, it will need more butane gas. In normal conditions, both gases are at equal proportions.

The main benefit of using LPG as fuel for vehicles is that you can save money. The reason why LPG is cheaper is because it is being refined from existing petroleum (or combined propane gas and butane gas from other sources). LPG is cheaper than any other fuel such as petrol and diesel, so it provides a more economical fuel for those who can't afford more expensive fuel sources.

However, apart from saving money, LPG is a very clean burning fuel. It means there will be less air pollution because there is less carbon dioxide, less nitrogen oxide and sulphur. When there is less gas emission from combustion, there is less pollution. There are more and more vehicles being converted to LPG, as most cars being produced are not compatible with LPG. In order to get these cars to run on LPG, some modifications are needed.

However, it is a hassle when you have to change your car from petrol-fuelled to LPG-fuelled. Why not have both benefits in one car? To realise this idea, some car companies are creating dual-fuel systems that allow car owners to choose whether to use standard fuel, such as petrol, or LPG. By having this duel system, the vehicles can use either one to generate energy. In times where you cannot get LPG, you can use petrol to fuel your vehicle. This function is extremely convenient and can work with your budget as you go along. When you can afford it you are able to use LPG for your vehicle and when money is tight, you can switch to standard fuel.

However, these cars are more expensive and you must be willing to commit your money as a form of investment for a better fuel and cleaner environment. These cars are going to cost more than you budgeted, so consider it as an investment for a better future and a cleaner environment.

Of course, it is advisable to convert your existing vehicle to an LPG-fuelled vehicle if you want to save more money. There are many dealers coming up with great offers to help you change your car into a LPG-fuelled vehicle with a very low investment rate.
Are you taking proper care of your RC nitro cars? A little bit of preparation can save you a lot of money in repair costs. Learning the basics of rc engine operations and proper maintenance will lengthen the life of your RC nitro cars and help you keep your vehicles in top shape.

RC Nitro Engines The RC nitro car's engine works very similar to a regular car engine. There are several parts of the engine that require attention for your vehicle to work at peak performance. Here are the main components RC vehicles rely on for efficient driving and the preventative maintenance you should take.

Fuel and Fuel Lines The fuel used by RC nitro engines is a combination of nitro methane and a synthetic or castor oil lubricant. You must use the proper fuel combination for your vehicle. If your RC car is running poorly you need to examine the fuel system. Cracks or debris in the fuel lines may cause the engine to cut out. It is advantageous to check your vehicle's fuel lines each time before running it. Clean out dirty lines. If you find problems consult your user manual before operating the vehicle.

Air Filter The air filter is an essential component to your engine. The air filter clears out dirt and debris from the engine which permits it to run smoothly. If the air filter becomes clogged then dirt and heat will get trapped in the engine making it work harder to draw air in. This can substantially affect its performance or even damage the engine. Air filters can often be cleaned rather than replaced. If the air filter in the model you own is very expensive to replace you may wish to clean the existing air filter carefully and reuse it. Weighing the costs of an engine repair (if the cleaning is not thorough) with the costs of a replacement filter may be wise when determining the value of replacement versus cleaning.

Tuning the Engine While nitro engines can be more difficult to set up than their electric counterparts they also allow for the operator to adjust the engine and the vehicle's performance. The carburetor permits you to adjust the amount of air/fuel mixture that is being used by the engine. A low mix of fuel is called 'lean' while a high ratio of fuel to air is 'rich'. Making small adjustments to the mix according to the driving conditions will fine tune the driving. On the other hand you need to be cautious that the mixture is not too lean or rich as this can damage the engine.

Tires Check the tires on your RC nitro cars before putting them out on the track. Check that they are balanced following the instructions in your user's manual. This is especially important during the initial setup.

Testing Whenever you are putting an RC car on the road for the first time or after it has been shelved for awhile you should test the vehicle and tune it before running it fast or on rough terrain. After driving the vehicle check it for debris. Make sure the parts move freely and have not become clogged with mud or dust. Running the vehicle without ensuring it is clean can cause costly damage to the engine or other parts. Talk to experts about the recommended upkeep necessary for your chosen vehicle. Some models will have more expensive maintenance costs than others and may be a factor to consider when choosing your vehicle. <bio>Greg Root owns and maintains http://www.rccarssite.com..
Ethanol fuel is changing our lives and changing the economy in ways no one anticipated before, with energy costs rising every day, there has been an increased interest in ethanol fuel. Ethanol is a variety of alcohol that can be produced in a natural fashion, similar to the way in which alcoholic beverages are produced. Ethanol can be used by itself in some specially designed vehicles, but it can also be used as a fuel additive, stretching traditional fuels in times of economic or environmental hardship. Ethanol is used today by more people ever before, simply because of the cheap alternative to the soaring gas prices.

Using ethanol fuel as an alternative to gas does require motorists to get a special ethanol kit and install it in their cars, but since gas prices have been unstable in the last years many people feel that making that kind of investment will prove financially profitable in the future.

Ethanol fuel that is derived from crops has advantages over traditional fossil fuels. The ethanol fuel is obtained from the sugars and starches in crops like corn and grains. It also burns cleaner than petroleum based fuels due to its chemical composition, alleviating some of the strain placed on the environment by exhaust emissions. The increased consumption of corn for ethanol use has already started to affect the corn farms projections of yearly crops.

Blended ethanol fuel has proven to be an effective source of energy for several parts of the country, as well as other parts of the globe. E10 is a typical mixture. It is common in the Midwestern United States. Many other countries around the world start to consider using ethanol instead of regular fuel, Denmark for example, has also begun using this type of ethanol fuel. It appears to be doing well, though its use is not as extensive as many of its proponents had hoped it would be. There is still a long way for ethanol to become a natural option for fuel, the United States had used ethanol fuel for less than one percent of its gasoline needs in the year 2002.

The other big issue surrounding ethanol is the environmental issue, it is still not absolutely clear that ethanol is in fact environment friendly, and whether the environmental aspects of ethanol fuel are as good as they have been previously described by the supporters of ethanol fuel use. The growing concern is that while the use of ethanol by itself may be good for the environment, the resources and work done to provide the production of the ethanol could be potentially dangerous for the forests, rainforests and areas where the corn and other ethanol producing resources are being grown. While it is true that the fuel can be made from renewable resources there is evidence that some rainforests are actually being cleared to make space for crops that are used in the production of ethanol. As the controversy regarding the production of ethanol and its dangers, it is very clear that this alternative source of energy is becoming more and more popular. <bio>Simon Oldmann is an avid writer and a green activist, he has been writing about Ethanol use since the growing popularity of Ethanol these last years, Simon writes for http://ethanol.zupatips.com </bio>

You may have well noticed logos on new cars and trucks of "Flexifuel" or "Flexi-fuel". You may have well wondered what this innovation is. Is something to increase fuel efficiency? Is it a means of being able to use regular gasoline instead of high premium test? The automobile industry has a well deserved record of relaunching and repackaging old products as new and simply applying chrome and simple modifications to previous models and technologies and selling them as new products and innovations.

Flexifuel is new.

A Flexifuel vehicle is a flexible-fuel vehicle (FFV) or a dual-fuel vehicle.

Flexi fuel vehicles may also be called flex-fuel as well.

The Flexi fuel vehicles that you are seeing on American roads are designed to run on ethanol (a type of alcohol), gasoline or any mixture of both. Cars made previously to 1980 can not tolerate any ethanol at all. The ethanol played havoc with those cars rubber seals, aluminum and other components of those car models. Cars made after 1980 onwards could tolerate and run on gasohol =96 a 10 % mixture of ethanol mixed with 90 % ethanol.

What makes Flexfuel cars different is that they can run on gasoline or ethanol alcohol gasoline percentages up to 85 % ethanol. That combination of 85 % ethanol with alcohol is commercially sold and referred to as E85 fuel. No damage of any kind is done to cars certified with the Flexfuel certification when they run ethanol / gasoline combinations or straight gasoline. Further the owner can switch back and forth without skipping a beat. .

Flexi fuel cars have been used for a number of years in Brazil. Since the 1980's and the energy crisis Brazil built up a substantial ethanol industry in tandem with its sugar cane production. As a result of Flex-fuel automobiles Brazil has substantially reduced its dependence on costly foreign imported oil. In the United States we take foreign currency for granted. American dollars a standard in the world. Everyone wants American dollars. However I most of the world foreign currency is a country's most precious commodity. Without foreign currency =96 be it dollars , Japanese Yen or The European Union's Euro a county can not buy essential items to improve their economy and feed their people =96 whether it be factory tools , tractors, computers or the money to send their students abroad to learn new procedures to improve their society. As a result of Flexi-fuel gas / ethanol cars Brazil has reduced its dependency on foreign imported oil and saved much precious foreign currencies.

Motorists choose their type and grade of fuel depending on availability or cost or a combination of all the above. Gasoline can be used by Flex-fuel cars. So can 10 % Gasohol. . Ethanol / Gasoline fuels can be used all the way up to 85 % ethanol mixed with 15 % gasoline.

There are some disadvantages to Flex-fuel though. Because the Flexi-fuel engine has to be all things to all kinds of fuel the Flex-fuel vehicle may not be as fuel efficient as a regular gasoline single fuel engine. Secondly ethanol's higher volatility means that ethanol mixed with gasoline may actually increase smog which is not a good idea in large urban areas or in areas such as California which rely on a large amount of vehicles with much driving in an automobile culture.

However there are often tax advantages and credits both directly for using ethanol based fuels both for the motorist and the car manufactures in their fleets.

There are currently more than an estimated 4 million flexible-fuel vehicles currently being operated on American roads. Most of the owner's of these vehicles have no idea of the capabilities of their engines to accept ethanol based fuels.

In the last number of years many cars had the term Flexi-fuel without even the dealer never mind car owners even knowing what the term meant. Less expensive ethanol based fuels are not readily available throughout America.

Time and the price and availability of gasoline at the pump for American motorists will change their preferences for Ethanol and Flexi-fuel. <bio>Maggie Z.
Some makers of biodiesel are satisfied to let their newly produced mixture simply sit untouched for about a week to allow the bulk of the soap residues settle to the bottom before running the product through a filter and into their fuel tank. But for a cleaner biodiesel that burns better, runs better, gets better mileage, and minimizes wear and tear on your engine, you may wish to consider taking this stage of the process a step further.

There are numerous ways to wash biodiesel, the simplest being to pour water with a dash of white vinegar mixed in into a translucent container made of PVC or some other similar material, or a 5-7 gallon bucket, if washing large batches, fitted with a valve at the bottom that can be opened or closed at will. Then pour your biodiesel on top of it and gently stir, avoiding agitating the soaps you're attempting to remove. Afterwards, let the mixture sit for 12-24 hours.

At the end of this time the oil (biodiesel fuel) and the water (cloudy with soap) will have separated, and you can decant the biodiesel out the top, and then drain the soapy water out the bottom.

You'll want to repeat this process 1 or 2 more times, using fresh water each time (though after the 1st wash, you need not add any vinegar to the water you use for subsequent batches.) In the interest of preserving water, by the way, the remaining water from your 3rd wash could be used for the 1st wash on a subsequent batch.

If, after 3 washings, there still seems to be residual soaps remaining, they can then be removed by slowly reheating the oil, decanting out the clean biodiesel and leaving the impurities behind.

There is, however, another way to wash your biodiesel that, while taking longer to complete, uses up far less water. Brought to us by the University of Idaho, this technique, called Bubble Washing, utilizes an aerator and an air stone, both of which you can buy for under $50 collectively at your local aquarium supply shop,.

If the aerator you purchase comes with a filter, remove it now before proceeding. Add into a tank or container filled halfway with biodiesel 30 milliliters of vinegar for every 100 liters of biodiesel and then fill it just about the rest of the way with plain water.

Drop into the mixture the air stone that's attached to the end of your aerator. It will immediately sink to the tank's bottom. Once you turn the aerator on, bubbles begin to emanate from the stone, rising up through the tank, washing the fuel as it does so.

When the bubble arrives at the surface of the biodiesel, it then pops, releasing a water droplet that then drops back through the mixture, washing it a second time.

Now if washing your biodiesel this way only succeeds in making it cloudier, then there's probably too much alkali in your mixture. This can easily be reduced by adding a small amount of lemon juice or white vinegar to the water you're washing with.

Let the bubble washing continue for 2 to 3 days. For faster results, you might choose to attach the pump (aerator) to the side of your tank or container. The vibrations assist in the separation process and help expedite its completion.

Periodically check the pH of the mixture as the process rolls along. Whether you wash your biodiesel "manually" (as in the first method outlined) or using the latter bubble washing method, you should only consider the process complete when the pH of your biodiesel reaches approximately 7-7.5 (neutral).

That's when you know you're good to go. <bio>Biodisel is clean, renewable, cheap and becoming popular. The best part is that it's very easy to make it at home. Go to http://biodiesel.biogreenlife.com/category/howto/ to learn all the biodiesel making steps. </bio>

Biodiesel can extend the life of your engine whether it is in your diesel equipped auto, truck, tractor, bus or highway rig. Biodiesel can increase the longevity of your engine by up to 100 %. Costs are reduced =96 whether it be for maintenance or vehicle replacement. The engine last longer , breaks down less frequently resulting in longer vehicle life spans , greater reliability and overall less vehicle costs =96 again be it diesel equipped auto , car, truck ,tractor or highway rig.

How can this be so? The improved lubrication properties of biodiesel over regular vehicle diesel fuel results in increased parts longevity by up to 100 %. As a result commercial vehicles may be used for decades as well as travel millions of miles. Increased engine longevity translates into reduced maintenance costs, longer life spans and overall increases in reliability.

Biodiesel is a renewable fuel derived from vegetable oils, animal fats and cooking oils that are processed so that it can be added to diesel fuel as an additive. You cannot just mash up these fats and mix them with your diesel fuel. It is not as if any old Alvero character can make biodiesel in his garage at home. If the biodiesel is not prepared properly in a qualified industrial process =96 the contaminants of water, glycerols and other trace elements can well clog up your fuel injectors or even an expensive injection pump. Properly done biodiesel is a safe and beneficial fuel additive =96 now being routinely recommended and touted by major vehicle and diesel engine manufacturers.

Prepared properly in a commercial setting. and bought commercially you can be assured that not only will the biodiesel will be safe for your engine to use =96 but will even give the benefits of much greater engine life , enhanced reliability and lower maintenance costs overall.

Biodiesel is added to the regular diesel fuel. The percentage added depends on the climate the vehicles or autos will be used in. In warmer climates =96 such as tropical or Florida type climates =96 a percentage mixture of up to 20 % can be used. A 20 % biodiesel percentage in a truck driven up North to Edmonton Canada in the cold of winter will thicken up in the cold Alberta winter weather.

In such a cold winter temperature a biodiesel mixture ratio of 5 % would probably be used. To increase the blends of biodiesel used commercial vehicles such as trucks and busses can have fuel heaters installed =96 either inline fuel heaters of fuel tank heaters.

Why go to all this trouble for biodiesel ? First of all biodiesel is a renewable resource =96 crops such as soybean oil or canola can be used instead of scarcer and more expensive petroleum oil based products. Using biodiesel doe mean that we use less regular diesel, however the percentages of biodiesel use are relatively small. For example most diesel manufacturers recommend only 5 biodiesel (B5 mixed wit 95 % regular diesel. Of course again in colder climates such as Edmonton Alberta the percentages may be eve less. Biodiesel is also good for reducing emissions and pollution levels of sulphur, carbon monoxide as well as overall tailpipe smog pollutants.

However as with most good things in life there are disadvantages to the use of biodiesel as a vehicle fuel additive. First biodiesel has slightly less energy than regular diesel fuel, so that the larger the percentage content of the Biodisel in the fuel =96 the less power the engine will have to deliver. Fortunately at the low percentages of biodiesel being used as a fuel additive this is not a major issue.

In addition biodiesel spoils with time. If the biodiesel is too be stored for a long period of time =96 then additional additives must be added.

As a result of its benefits to reducing petroleum oil use and increasing engine life and reliability biodiesel has a bright and emerging future in our transportation and automotive industries.

The use of biodiesel =96 an alternative renewable fuel, is fast on its way up. <bio>Terry Z.
With the cost of gasoline so unstable at the moment and the constant threat of another rise in price many people are trying to find ways to improve gas mileage for their cars and trucks. One of the newest and maybe the best ways to achieve this is to make a hydrogen generator for vehicles. A small homemade hydrogen generator fits neatly under the hood of your vehicle next to your engine and can increase gas mileage by over 50%. It can be built using simple parts that you can buy cheaply at any hardware or auto store.

A hydrogen generator for vehicles uses ordinary water to supplement the gasoline that your engine uses. Can you imagine that? Using plain water to improve the performance of your engine to get more MPG, no wonder a hydrogen generator for vehicles is becoming one of the most popular ways to improve gas mileage for trucks, cars, and even SUVs.

So how does a homemade hydrogen generator work?

As I said a hydrogen generator for vehicles uses water as a supplement to your gasoline, so a small reservoir is positioned under the hood of your car or truck next to your engine. Added to this are some stainless steel plates, a certain amount of electrical wiring and a catalyst such as ordinary baking soda. All these parts are wired up to your vehicles battery which supplies the power needed to run the whole thing. (Check out my website for actual detailed instruction plans)

When your homemade hydrogen generator has been put together and properly installed (which is easily done within a couple of hours, with very little expense) it is possible to extract Hydrogen Oxygen or HHO from the water by using electrolysis, a process where electricity is used to change water into HHO. This HHO is then introduced into your engine via the air intake manifold where it is mixed with the regular gasoline-air mixture and burned in the usual way.

This mixture of regular gasoline and HHO gas is what gives you the increase in fuel economy as it burns much more efficiently and thoroughly. With an ordinary engine the fuel is not all burnt which leads to a build up of carbon, making the engine even less efficient. With the hydrogen generator for vehicles all the fuel is burned and so there is no carbon build up, in fact over time a homemade hydrogen generator can actually help remove the existing carbon.

Added to this more efficient burning engine which uses less fuel there is also the fact that it produces far less harmful exhaust emissions, so cutting down on the amount of pollution you as an individual are adding to the atmosphere. So to sum up, if you are looking for one of the best ways to improve gas mileage why not find out more about a hydrogen generator for vehicles. With plans and guides available showing you how easy it is to make a homemade hydrogen generator, you could soon cut your fuel expenses in half.<bio>Find out for yourself more about A Hydrogen Generator For Vehicles and how easy it is to convert your own cars and trucks. http://www.MoreGasMPG.com/saveongas.html</bio>

There is no doubt you have noticed rising gas prices. Chances are you have been hoping that they would go back down sometime soon. Considering the world's geopolitical situation, it is highly improbable that petroleum prices will fall. This means that you must either suffer, or become proactive. Amongst the options for saving on energy costs are buying hybrid vehicles or taking public transportation. The problem is that hybrid vehicles are exceedingly expensive, and public transportation is not an option for many of us. So is there another solution? Enter hydrogen generators for cars.

Chances are you are scratching your head wondering what an on board hydrogen generator is, how it could possibly help you save on fuel prices, and where you can buy one.

An on board hydrogen generator is a hydrogen generator that generates hydrogen on demand as opposed to it being stored. Stored hydrogen is relatively dangerous, but generating it as needed decreases the danger associated with long term storage. A hydrogen generator is essentially a small device which generates hydrogen from water via electrolysis, which is installable right beneath your hood.

Hydrogen generators for cars work by running electricity through water and then collecting the released hydrogen and oxygen gas. Then, it feeds this gas into the engine via the air intake, thus allowing you to save on fuel expenditure. The laws of thermodynamic state that any system is inherently inefficient and therefore the amount of energy derived from the oxygen and hydrogen gas has to be less than the amount of energy expended to create it. The secret lies in the fact that the increased fuel efficiency enjoyed by the user of an on board hydrogen generator is due to the presence of hydrogen or oxygen gas itself, rather it is from allowing the engine to run at a more optimum efficiency, extracting more energy from the fuel than is possible without the addition of hydrogen to the fuel mix.

A simplified version of how the on board hydrogen generator works is essentially a water reservoir which holds the water. Within this water is a coil of wire that conducts electricity. Electricity is supplied via the alternator or battery and then tubes are attached to the top of the water reservoir which, in turn leads to the air intake. It is through these tubes that the oxygen and hydrogen mixture is conducted to the engine via the air intake, thus enriching the fuel mixture and changing the internal burn pattern of the cylinders themselves. It is through these optimized burn patterns that more of the energy from the fuel is conserved and extracted, thereby doing useful work instead of leaving with the exhaust.

If you are interested in hydrogen generators for cars, the first step is to get informed. Once your have a basic understanding of how it works and what it takes to build one, there are a number of plans available online which can help you build your own and start saving gas today. Only you can become more efficient and less dependent on foreign oil, so take action today!<bio>Click Here to learn how to run your car on water today.
