For those considering frequent flyer credit cards, consider all of the benefits that they can offer, not just the obvious benefits. These lines of credit are growing in popularity, and rightly so. Many of the best credit cards in these programs offer discounts far beyond the standard frequent flyer miles. You may also find yourself saving money on hotel stays or even on upgrades to first class. If you qualify for frequent flyer credit card offers, do take advantage of what they can offer to you. Who Should Get Them?

While frequent flyer credit cards are readily available to many people, assuming that you have at least decent credit, some people will want to choose this type of rewards credit card for its benefits. If you travel quite often, then selecting a frequent flyer credit card from the airline you travel the most with will allow you to rack up miles that can then be applied to free airline service. If you do not do a lot of flying, though, you can still benefit from these lines of credit if you would like to earn discounts. Many of them allow you to use the credit line for any need, not just airline tickets. So, your trips to get gas or to the grocery store may be able to help you earn frequent flyer miles, assuming this is acceptable to the credit card company. What Benefits Do They Provide Todays frequent flyer credit cards provide much more than straight free airfare. Some of them are able to provide you with benefits including savings on hotel stays, discounts on rental car needs or even discounts on food and expenses for your stay away from home. If you do not have enough miles available to qualify for a free airline ticket, you may want to consider using the points for an upgrade to first class service. Each of the frequent flyer credit card offers provides different benefits. Read through the offers before applying so that you know what you qualify for. Shop Around For The Best While frequent flyer credit cards may look the same in what they provide to you, they are not all the same in what they offer. Some of the best will offer affordable interest rates as well as flexible terms. You will find that many offer good available credit too. You should know what the terms of the credit card are before applying for it, including the interest rate, membership fees, and annual fees that you will pay. Be sure that these things still allow you to benefit from the frequent flyer credit card. For individuals who enjoy flying or just want to save money on the flights they need to take, frequent flyer credit cards can provide this help easily. Do take the time to find the right line of credit for you. With many offers available through various airline and credit card company affiliates, you are sure to find one that fills your needs and is beneficial to the style of use you have in mind. <bio>Robert Alan is an editor for http://www.CreditCardAssist.com and frequently contributing writer on various credit card-related topics.
Many people have jobs that require them to travel, but haven't yet considered enrolling themselves in a frequent flyer program. You might also want to do this if you travel a lot. Put simply, frequent flyer programs allow flyers to earn free miles of flight for every mile traveled. For those sceptical about such a program, remember, it's free.

1. What's The Catch?

American Airlines frequent flyers do not earn frequent flyer miles if they travel on a Delta flight. In other words, it's a cheap marketing ploy to get you to be loyal to a particular airline. Of course, such a catch won't really matter if you plan well in advance and would end up using that airline anyways, right?

2. Why Frequent Flyer Miles?

- You can spend them on hotels, car rentals, even restauraunts - No cost to sign up - Easy to understand

3. The Rewards Are Clear

Airlines typically have an 800 number where customers can speak with representatives who are knoweldgeable with the program. When redeeming miles for free airline tickets, each mile accumulated is the equivalent of two cents. Therefore, in order to purchase a $200 airline ticket for free, a customer would have to have 10,000 miles accumulated, each worth two cents each. This might not seem like a lot but consider that your average flight can be thousands of miles in length and that's just for one way, not the return trip.

4. It's About Customer Satisfaction

The airlines are currently competing tooth and nail for your loyalty. In an age where you can select the lowest airfare from one destination to another with just the click of a button, airlines simply can't hold customer loyalty like they could in the past. Also, if airlines started to compete using price every airline loses money and then the entire industry isn't profitable anymore. This has caused most flight providers to strip out many of the common features of flights - you must pay if you want a meal, pay if you want to bring carry on luggage, etc. <bio>For more great frequent flyer related articles and resources check out http://rewardspot.info </bio>

In the old days when the connectivity with the flights to various destinations was still evolving the flight operating companies had a snooty approach to the customer. But the things have now undergone total transformation. Now with multitude of airlines vying for the attention of the customers, the customer has become the king. The king is being pampered with the frequent flier credit cards; more you fly more rewards you get. The concept has its genesis in building up a loyal customer base for the frequent fliers. There is a very fundamental difference between a journey by the train and that by the rail.

In case of plane, once it has taken off, the seat which is vacant cannot be filled, but not so with the train. Therefore, to fill up as many seats as possible some kinds of incentives have to be given, and these incentives were in the form of frequent flier credit cards. The frequent flier credit cards are a form of co-branded cards, which are issued by the airlines, the concerned bank that is issuing the card and one of the card institutes like Visa or Master. The objective is to develop a band of loyal fliers, more so the fliers who make more than five-six trips on a monthly basis for the business purposes.

Every time a frequent flier credit card is used, it is converted into certain tangible and intangible benefits to the user. The first benefit for a frequent flier credit card user is that he can tele-check in by quoting his frequent flier number. For a business traveler to be able to confirm his boarding on the flight is a big boon, as you might be held up to the last moment and on landing at the airport it might be difficult to check in, in the flight. The flip side of this is the fact that you may be able to extend your meeting till the last moment, as you know that you have confirmed your arrival to the concerned airlines.

The frequent flier credit card user also has the advantage to get his seat confirmed once tele-check in has been done. You just have to land at the airport, collect the boarding pass, and off you are to the destination, it is that simple. The frequent flier credit card also provides benefit of access to concierge lounges, especially when you are traveling outside. The access to concierge lounges, without having to pay for it is a big boon as one can easily pass away the intermittent time between catching one flight and the other by passing the time at the lounge. Every tele-check in also provides some bonus points to the holder of the frequent flier credit card. The first reward to a frequent flier credit card holder is the up gradation from the economy class to the business class, or even first class without paying anything for the differential.

It is a reward so to say for using a particular flight to travel. The second advantage that comes to a frequent flier credit card holder is the complimentary travel vouchers that you can claim when you are a frequent flier. This complimentary travel voucher is a gift with which you can also impress your wife who otherwise would be peeved at your frequent disappearance. It seems the issuers of frequent flier credit cards understand this and that is why the complimentary cards that they issue also extends the benefit of choosing that particular airlines to the wife as well. <bio>Devin Gilliland provides expert opinions and advice on how to apply and manage credit cards at http://www.credit-wisdom.com </bio>

When going on a trip, the most expensive thing you will purchase will always be the airline tickets. There are a number of websites who advertise their low airline fares and using one of these websites can save you hundreds of dollars on your flight. Airlines sometimes offer discount rates for early online reservations. It is important for you to look into these possible discounts and take advantage of them if they are available. Some airlines might offer more of a discount than others, so be sure to have a thorough look around and compare between competing companies rates.

1. Travel Agents

A travel agent can help you to save quite a good deal of money on your air fare. Using a travel agent can provide you with a number of benefits you would otherwise miss out on if you were to plan your vacation on your own. The experience of travel agents has allowed them to create good relationships with other companies involved in travel. They can get special deals on airline fares, hotel reservations, and any other tickets or reservations you might need such as reservations to theme parks or restaurants you plan to visit during your stay. This allows them to get better bargains for you in areas where you would be paying full price on your own. Even if you didn't save a penny from using a travel agent, your trip will be considerably more enjoyable because you won't have to worry about planning it.

2. Frequent Flier Programs

Many airlines offer bonuses to customers for flying repeatedly with them. For each mile that frequent flyer customers travel, they earn a mile of frequent flyer miles. The catch is that they must travel on the airline that they signed up with. For example, American Airlines frequent flyers do not earn frequent flyer miles if they travel on a Delta flight. This is why it is smartest to choose one airline and stick to it, rather than trying to accumulate frequent flyer miles with numerous airlines. <bio>For more great airline related articles and resources check out http://123villas.info </bio>

Every customer wants to feel that their needs and wants are being taken care of and are important. They want to know that they are wanted as a customer on a personal basis. They want sales or discounts that are tailored directly to their needs, not the needs of the majority of customers. By building a Customer Loyalty Program, you can give your clients this sense of security and of being needed. One of the fastest growing Customer Loyalty Programs is the membership card program. With this program, you can track what each customer buys and send them coupons that are on the products that they personally buy.

When your company decides to implement a program to boost customer loyalty, they are doing several things. They are going to immediately boost sales almost instantly, you will secure customer behaviors, and secure dealer loyalty to your business from your customers. Your business does not have to be a large chain of stores to use a Customer Loyalty Program, even small businesses will profit.

Offering special promotions to only those that are part of your program, will encourage others, who may only select your company occasionally, to consider you on a more permanent basis. Newsletters can improve your sales. If a customer knows when a particular item may be on sale, that they enjoy buying or using, they may make a special trip to secure this item. You can even make your customers feel special as individuals by sending birthday cards or holidays greeting cards. For an extra special touch, you can enclose a gift certificate for a few dollars with the cards. Many companies who use the card membership programs, have sales where the customers receive an extra 10 or 15 percentage off of their sales total, just for being such a loyal customer. Another option is to offer the frequent buyer program. You can give one item free when the customer buys so many of the same product. If you are a smaller company, you can always send thank you notes to your customers for being such wonderful guests.

If taken on this kind of project may be too much for you or a group of your employees, you can always hire a third company to implement the program. They may want to come in and interview your current customers on what they like or dislike as far as your current sales and promotions. They may want to survey to see what the customers feel could or should be improved upon, and even possible products that they would like to see you carry and sell. This third party company can help your company decide which form of loyalty program may be best for your company and customers.

Making your customers feel like you value them and their opinions, will secure their frequent return to your store. Giving them little bonuses for being a shopper can ensure that they feel wanted and appreciated when they enter through your doors. <bio>Dock J.
There are times when you may experience a burning and painful discomfort just behind the breastbone. This burning sensation that you are experiencing is commonly called heartburn, and most people tend to suffer from frequent heartburn.

Heartburn doesn't have anything to do with your heart. Rather heartburn is what occurs when digested food juices go back into the esophagus. The esophagus is the tube like structure that connects the throat to your stomach.

When the digested food juices go back into the esophagus it is called reflux. The stomach has a high amount of acid within it to help breakdown the various foods that we eat. There is a valve called the lower esophageal sphincter or LES that normally separates the esophagus from the stomach. It is when the LES fails to work correctly or when it relaxes frequently at the wrong moment that we experience frequent heartburn.

There are certain triggers in our lifestyles and eating habits that cause heartburn. The triggers vary from person to person, and from lifestyles and dietary habits. However there are some common factors.

They include the following. Eating foods such as citrus fruits and drinks, chocolate, peppermint, tomatoes or tomato-based products and fatty or spicy foods. Drinking beverages such as coffee, tea, and sodas that have caffeine substances in them. Also drinking carbonated fizzy drinks and alcoholic beverages can relax the LES.

Heartburn has varying degrees to it. There is episodic heartburn which is generally experienced. There is the more serious GERD disease. Then there is frequent heartburn. This is the type of heartburn that occurs two or more days a week. Frequent heartburn affects people who may be using medication for heartburn symptoms at least two or more days of the week.

For sufferers of frequent heartburn there is at the moment only one type of relief. This is the proton pump inhibitor or the PPI as it is also known as. PPIs are powerful inhibitors of stomach acid production. They virtually shut down the acid pumps in the cells of the stomach. As this is where stomach the acid is produced, the PPIs eliminate the excess amounts of acid leaving only enough acid for the normal digestion of food.

Prilosec medication is the only over the counter medication that you can get for frequent heartburn. Prilosec is specifically indicated for frequent heartburn usage, and can provide 24-hour relief from the symptoms of frequent heartburn. You will only need to take one pill daily as medical directions state for 14 days.

For frequent heartburn sufferers a complete change in their lifestyles and eating habits may not be enough. Should there be an increase in the pain then having a medical diagnosis may be helpful in correcting your frequent heartburn pain. Stop procrastinating, and delaying, go to your doctor today and get yourself relief from your heartburn. <bio>Author's sites: http://www.easyhomeremedy.com , http://www.myanxietyguide.com , http://www.home-remedies-for-heartburn.com </bio>

Sales is like any other business. There are people who just do it as there jobs and are pretty good, there are people who do it cause its what they want to do, and are great at it, and there are people who are in the process of burning out.

Only, doing sales, you burn out much more quickly than in other fields. That's why it wouldn't even make sense to do professional sales training as you're starting out -- how do you know you'll even be in it for more than a year or two.

There are many seminars, services, books, and other such like that offer you so called professional sales training, but take it from me, a professional. That is not where you want to start.

Of course, once you've made it past what we call the "two year hump", you're probably in it for good, and can do professional sales training. You'll know who the players are, who use approaches compatible with your personality, and who you can avoid because they've got nothing to offer you.

Some professional sales training courses are really offered by the best people in the industry, people with such a nack for sales that they can charge hundreds of dollars for seminars to teach others how to do what they do.

But other times, professional sales training is just offered by two bit huksters, who don't know jack about sales, people who are good enough maybe to teach a beginner some tricks, but who aren't really worth the money you've got to pay to see them.

You see, professional sales training events involve salesmanship themselves, only they have to be sold to salesmen. You can tell good professional sales training, because there will be a lot of veterans there as well as newcomers.

Most sales companies offer professional sales training on the job, because, lets face it, you've either got it or you don't. Now, once you get into the game a little bit, you can sometimes benefit from further professional sales training seminars, classes and the like, but until then it's a bad idea to try that approach.

Until you've been in the industry a year or two, you won't have a nose for it, and won't be able to tell what professional sales training courses are likely to be good and which ones are just a money making scheme to exloit new comers. <bio>Read all about professional sales training. http://professionalsalestraining.info </bio>

Frequent heartburn affects the lives of many people. It causes the sensation of burning in the back of the throat, and sometimes in the upper chest area. If you suffer from these symptoms several times each week, it is chronic heartburn.

This condition should be evaluated by your health professional. It could be a symptom of something more serious, such as acid reflux. It is also an extremely annoying problem that can prevent you from enjoying your life. Not only will it stop you from enjoying a great meal with family and friends, it can also disturb you in the middle of a deep sleep. Many frequent heartburn sufferers complain that they wake up during the night due to heartburn pain, and cannot get back to sleep. Then the next day, they need to drink more coffee to stay alert, which sets off another bout of heartburn, and they are stuck in a vicious cycle.

One of the first steps to take if you suffer from frequent heartburn is to look at your lifestyle, and see if there are any areas where you can make changes. Some people find that eliminating a couple of food triggers is all that it takes. Others find that adding exercise or meditation helps them to relieve stress and solves their heartburn problem. For many frequent sufferers, none of these is an option. If you frequently travel for work, you have little control over your diet. In addition, if you are in a high stress job, it is hard to counter the effects of stress on your body in a few exercise sessions.

There are several medications available from your health care provider that will relieve the symptoms of frequent heartburn. They work in a variety of ways to prevent you from producing stomach acid. Chewable antacids work by absorbing the excess acid in your stomach so it does not bother you.

Although medications seem to be an easy solution to the problem of chronic heartburn, there are always side effects to medications. Before you decide they are the perfect solution for you, do your research to make sure you aren't solving one problem by creating another.

Short-term use of medications can help you get your life back on track. You'll get a great night sleep, and be able to cut back on your caffeine consumption. With the extra energy, you'll be able to begin an exercise program to help you blow off steam and handle stress better. Take control of your frequent heartburn and start enjoying your life again. <bio>Discover the safe, all natural, guaranteed cure for heartburn and digestive problems at http://www.AcidsRefluxSolution.com/ </bio>

Many men experience an increase in the frequency at which they have to urinate as they get older. This is exceedingly common among older men. However, if you are a man that is "always having to go", don't just dismiss it as aging. There are many causes of frequent urination and the symptom needs to be checked out by a physician.

Frequent urination defined

Always having to go or feeling the need to urinate more often than is usual is called frequent urination. This differs from urgent urination which is an urgent, compelling need to urinate. This can be accompanied with bladder discomfort.

If the need to urinate occurs at night, it is termed nocturia. Normally, a person can sleep for between 6 and 8 hours without the need to urinate.

Common causes

When experienced simultaneously, a frequent, urgent need to go to the bathroom is a classic symptom of an infection in the urinary tract. Typically, the infection will cause an inflammation of the bladder which, in turn, reduces the bladder's capacity to hold urine. In this case, even a small amount of urine can be uncomfortable.

These symptoms can also be caused by:

• Diabetes.

• A condition called interstitial cystitis, which is a chronic, constant inflammation of the bladder. This is more common in women than men, but bears checking out.

• Diuretics as well as other medicines.

• Therapeutic radiation.

• Dysfunction of the bladder.

• Cancer of the bladder.

All of these are known to cause frequent urination, but there is one extremely common cause that is overlooked by many men. That is an enlarged prostate and affects more men than you probably know.

The prostate gland is a walnut sized gland that secretes seminal fluid (the fluid that carries the sperm cells). The gland itself surrounds the urethra, which carries urine out through the penis. As the prostate grows larger, it may exert pressure on the urethra and cause problems with frequent urination.

Causes of enlarged prostate

The prostate wraps around the urethra between the rectum and the pubic bone. Early in the development of an enlarged prostate, the muscle of the bladder contracts more powerfully than usual and pressurizes urine through the urethra. The bladder muscle responds by gaining thickness and sensitivity. This causes the need to urinate often.

The larger the prostate grows, the tighter is squeezed. The bladder then cannot compensate for the problem and empties entirely.

Symptoms of an enlarged prostate

Actually, an enlarged prostate is accompanied by no symptoms at all. There a re a few things to watch for, like:

• A weak stream of urine or a stop/start during urination.
• Finding it difficult to start urinating.
• Dribbling of urine after urination.
• Feeling like you are not done.
• Leakage of urine (incontinence).
• Frequent urination or an urgent need to go, especially during the night time.

If you have experienced any of the above, go to a doctor and get checked out immediately. An enlarged prostate only gets worse over time if it is overlooked. It could also lead to other more serious conditions.<bio>Visit ProstateOlympus.com to be aware of the reality of Prostate Gland</bio>

There is a difference between an airline credit card with frequent flyer miles or a reward credit card that offers airline miles. As when looking for any consumer product, it's a good idea to compare the offers side by side.

Airline Credit Card With Frequent Flyer Miles

An airline credit card is for a specific airline. You earn air miles for every dollar you spend on that airline and your miles are routinely added to your frequent flyer account. If you have a preference to a particular airline, this would be the card for you.

The airlines generally have partners such as hotels, restaurants, and car rental agencies and you typically receive points when you use your card to purchase services from any of their affiliates. You may also be given a choice to spend your points to upgrade your flight to first class. Some airlines offer a special bonus of an additional ticket for each ticket your purchase at full fare.

An airline credit card generally carries a yearly fee, whether you use the card or not. They also tend to have higher interest rates, so if you're not one to pay your balance in full each month, this may not be the type of card for you.

Reward Credit Card Air Miles

If you want a choice of airlines, a reward credit card with air miles may be what you're looking for. You can earn bonus points to be used for air miles that can be spent on your choice of any airline. Most reward credit cards have no annual fee and lower interest rates than an airline credit card.

With air miles earned with a reward credit card, you are not allowed to apply your air miles earned with frequent flyer miles on another account. Unlike with an airline credit card where you can easily make last minute plans for your flight, generally a reward credit card requires a 21 day notice in advance and a Saturday night stay. Reward card airline miles are often limited to the continental U.S. or a specified zone.

For an international traveler, an airline credit card with frequent flyer miles could be just what you want. Those airline miles can mount quickly. However, if you are just hoping to earn enough points for a short vacation within the U.S. or a specific area, if you use your card for every day purchases and pay the balance each month, to earn free tickets, a reward credit card with air miles would be more suited for you.

Be practical when reviewing your personal needs and financial situation before choosing between an airline credit card with frequent flyer miles or a reward credit card with air miles. <bio>Bradley Carson is the webmaster and editor of Apply Online For A Credit Card at http://www.cards-king.com . Over the last couple of years investors are looking into Bulgarian property sales because they have been proven to be more reliable than property sales in other countries, including the United States. Many investors have lost interest in Western property sales because they have not been reliable enough as the booms always bust.

Bulgarian property sales are much more promising than sales in other countries because they are not burdened by inflation and property that is valued at dollar amounts that it could never actually sell for. Bulgarian property sales have so much more going for it because Bulgaria has all of the natural and economic factors in place to make it last. Bulgarian property sales are not here and popular for a period of time, Bulgarian property sales will continue to be strong well into the future.

If you are interested in Bulgarian property sales you will want to research the past as well as current Bulgarian property sales transactions. This will give you an idea of what you can expect from Bulgarian property sales. It's important when looking into Bulgarian property sales to remember that the country has a lot of different things to offer you. You can get into commercial Bulgarian property sales, residential property sales, and rentals, too. There is so much that Bulgarian property sales has to offer an investor with a lot or just a little experience that you can pick and choose what sort of Bulgarian property sales you might be looking for.

If you are new to Bulgarian property sales you may want to consult with other investors and learn all that you can about Bulgarian property sales before you invest. There are many different types of Bulgarian property sales, but the Bulgarian property sales near the ski trails, hiking trails, and the beaches are the most popular for obvious reasons. Bulgarian property sales that are near areas that are frequented by tourists are generally the Bulgarian property sales that are most sought after. Bulgarian property sales are all forecasted to do unbelievably well, but it's always a good thing to really research Bulgaria as well as consult with others that have some experience in Bulgarian property sales before you jump in with both feet. Even Bulgarian property sales requires some thought and some careful planning so be sure that you know what you are doing before you get in too deep with Bulgarian property sales.

If you want some local input on Bulgarian property sales you might want to get in touch with a local realtor. While they may not be able to give you all of the information on Bulgarian property sales you need to invest wisely they can give you accurate market information, they can let you know what is selling and what is not, and they can let you know the market trends in the way of ups and downs in the market. Generally there is not a better place to get information about Bulgarian property sales than from people who are there and are immersed in the market. New investors and old investors as well as individuals will find just what they are looking for in Bulgarian property sales. <bio>K Damian Qualter BA MBA - Damian has built a =A36.5m property portfolio over the last 4 years and now helps others do the same.
You may have heard of frequent flyer programs, where participants earn points which award free airfares and benefits not available otherwise. But did you know that you do not have to actually fly in an airplane to earn these rewards?

There are many credit card companies today which offer customers the benefit of frequent flyer points. These credit cards have a special partnership with designated airline companies, awarding points to consumers based on certain types of purchases, cash advances, or other transactions. By making regular, everyday purchases, cardholders receive additional points. Different cards will offer different benefits or incentives. Participating cardholders commonly earn one or two free airline tickets every year.

Airline frequent flyer rewards credit cards come in two distinctive types. The first type of card is issued through an affiliated airline carrier, and is a good option for those who travel often. These cards are also wonderful for those who fly regularly for business purposes. If you have a tendency to use different airlines, or if you do not travel often, then you would be wise to choose the second type of card, which awards all-inclusive points. With this type of card, you will be allowed to use your frequent flyer points for travel on any airline, rather than being obligated to any one particular airline company.

Most major credit card companies offer frequent flyer incentive programs. For example, American Express offers a credit card with no expiration date on corresponding airline points, with double rewards for dining, travel, leisure, or entertainment purchases. A card through Bank of America offers no black out dates and rewards for all types of purchases. Visa, MasterCard, and Discover cards also have numerous cards through various companies, many of which also offer frequent flyer incentives.

If you are a frequent traveler, and tend to use credit cards during your excursions, then it makes logical sense to transfer your balances to a credit card which offers miles rewards. You will earn free travel incentives as a reward for what you are already doing, using your credit card! Airline credit cards also tend to offer exceptional interest rates, quality customer service, and amazing travel opportunities. Most cards also have no restrictions or blackout dates when it comes to using the accrued frequent flyer points.

Airline rewards credit cards are the most popular type of plastics, according to recent cardholder polls. Naturally so, since these cards were the original companies to offer rewards. In order to earn the very best incentives, there are a few tips and tricks to follow. Make sure to pay your bills in full every month. Choose a card with flexible reward schemes. Do you homework to discover the various benefit packages, such as special purchase incentive, redemption policies, or promotions.

Regardless of which frequent flyer airline rewards credit card that you choose, always remember that these cards have credit fees and a corresponding APR rate, just as any other card does. Keep careful records of your purchases and related point earnings, so that you always know where you stand. Pay close attention to the conditions and terms of the card, so that your hard earned rewards are not in vain!<bio>Learn more about frequent flyer programs and airline rewards at www.AirlineRewards.com</bio>

Today, even infrequent flyers are enrolled in one or more airline frequent flyer programs. With the volume of air travel reaching and surpassing pre-9/11 levels, more and more people are hitting the skies. This article provides some tips and tricks to maximize those frequent flyer miles given out by most airlines as a reward or incentive for flying their airline or within a given airline group.

First a brief history of the airline frequent flyer program. Two events were key to the creation of the frequent flyer program, deregulation in 1978 which created a marketing environment and computerization which created the necessary infrastructure to support these programs. Without these two events frequent flyer programs would be either unnecessary or impossible to implement. In May 1981, American Airlines introduced AAdvantage, the first frequent flyer program. The goal was to retain their best customers by rewarding them for their loyalty. The program tracked member's miles flown, and provided incentives in the form of free flights and upgraded amenities. Today, there are more than 70 frequent flyer programs, with over 100 million members. Members receive over 10 million awards per year.

The keys to maximizing your frequent flyer awards are as follows:

1. Join the program - you can't accumulate miles if you're not a member, and there is generally no cost to join.

2. Consolidate - focus your travel on as few airlines as possible, so that your miles accrue in one account, and you attain elite levels faster. Also, be aware of any alliances that airlines have, which allows you to fly on one airline but credit the points to another airline.

3. Keep track of expiration dates - most frequent flyer programs expire miles after a period of time, usually 2-3 years after being granted.

4. Credit card promotions - airline credit cards are a popular way to put an extra 5-10,000 miles in your account when you sign-up, which on some airlines is 50% of a round trip ticket. As long as the credit card doesn't have an annual fee, this is a great way to close the gap on a free ticket. Plus some airline credit cards provide bonus miles for each flight.

5. Hotel and rental car accelerators - check hotel and rental car agreements, you can pick up extra frequent flyer miles based on where you stay on the car you rent.

6. Elite levels -- Try to achieve and maintain elite levels with the programs. Besides other amenities such as upgrades and preferential boarding, elite levels frequently get bonus miles. If you're elite in one airlines program, one trick is to send a letter to another airline requesting a bump into their elite program. Most airlines will do this to get you hooked on their programs.

7. Leverage merchant partnerships - airlines have signed agreements with various merchants (e.g., FTD) to provide frequent flyer miles for purchasing partner products. Find out which merchants your airline has partnered with and adjust your spending.

In summary, the quickest way to a free flight isn't necessarily through the air. Make sure you focus your travel, if possible, with one or two airlines. And make sure you understand all of the partnerships that airline has entered into, so that your non-flight dollars can be channeled into that free ticket to the Bahamas. <bio>Rick Abbott is an experienced business traveler, part time author, and consultant in the IT field.
When you are looking to purchase a car, there are countless steps in the process and countless details to consider. It can quickly become quite an overwhelming and discouraging process. I have been a financial advisor for many years, so maybe I am a bit biased in this process, but I have one main bit of advice for anyone looking to purchase a car: check out used car sales, and do it first!

I have heard and received a lot of advice that people should consider new car sales and used car sales equally when they are trying to make a vehicle decision. That is okay advice, but I believe that even better advice would be to look at the possibilities that used car sales offer before you even attempt to purchase a new car.

There are many reasons for this suggestion, but the first is simply to be aware of how much money a new car really is. Life is expensive, and there is never an end to the number of bills that need to be paid or responsibilities that need to be taken care of. Looking at used car sales rather than just for new cars can be a great way to find a great car that is within your budget. Doing this will allow you to really free up funds to go to other important bills and needs in your life.

You would be shocked to learn how many great deals that there really are with used car sales. People often think of used cars as old and rusted, but there are used car sales for cars that have barely been driven. So get any preconceptions about used car sales out of your head and go in to a search with your mind open to whatever you will find. You will be pleasantly surprised by the price and quite often with the selection of used car sales.

If you're looking to purchase a car, take the time to research your different options. See what used car sales are available in your area and plan to make a visit at each of these places before you make a final purchase. It is always a good thing to have a lot of options when you are purchasing a car. Talk with friends you know that have purchased a car through used car sales and see what advice they give you. Be knowledgable so you can make the best possible decision. <bio>Martin Stoleman is a financial advisor that encourages his clients to seriously consider used car sales as a viable option.
Acid reflux or GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux) is a medical term used to describe a condition where food and stomach acid back up into the esophagus. At the bottom of the esophagus is a ring of muscles called the lower esophageal sphincter (LES). The LES opens and closes to allow food to enter the stomach. After meals, the LES opens to release gas. However, more than just gas may escape. Stomach contents may flow back into the esophagus and out the mouth. What parents see is the infant spitting up, vomiting can also occur.

Acid reflux can occur during or after a feeding. It can also occur when babies cough or cry as well. Acid reflux occurs in the first three months of age in more than half of all infants. It is quite common and is generally called `spitting up'. However, most babies do not need treatment. Acid reflux symptoms usually disappear between 12 to 18 months of age. For a very small number of babies the symptoms can be quite severe. In these cases, medical treatment is required.

Common acid reflux symptoms in infants:

=95 frequent coughing =95 frequent hiccups =95 wet burps =95 bad breath =95 frequent spitting up =95 irritable while feeding =95 frequent waking =95 arching back while feeding =95 constant or sudden crying =95 eating small amounts of food or refusing food

Less common acid reflux symptoms in infants:

=95 excessive drooling =95 frequent sinus or ear infections =95 poor weight gain or weight loss =95 frequent sore throat =95 trouble swallowing =95 asthma, pneumonia, bronchitis, wheezing

Sometimes your doctor may make a diagnosis of acid reflux based on a parent's description of symptoms and feeding history and a physical exam even if your baby is healthy and growing well. If your baby's doctor suspects a more serious condition, such as GERD they may order more tests. These tests may include esophageal pH monitoring which measures the acidity in your baby's esophagus. Another test is an Upper endoscopy. This is where a tube with a camera lens and light is inserted through the baby's mouth and into the esophagus and stomach. The doctor uses this procedure to see if there is a narrowing or inflammation in the esophagus.

For most babies, acid reflux will disappear during the first year of life. It is extremely important to discuss the treatment options with your baby's doctor before beginning any treatment method, especially before using any over-the-counter medicine. <bio>Thomas D.
