While the main purpose of a wedding invitation may be to inform the guests of the date, time and location of the ceremony and reception, this is not the only purpose of a wedding invitation. A wedding invitation is your first chance to make and impression on your guest and to give them a hint about what to expect at your wedding. The invitation can hint to the theme of your wedding or simply give the guests a glimpse into how formal your wedding will be. The appearance, wording and formality of your wedding invitation all contribute to the impressions that your guests form about your wedding before the even decide whether or not they will attend.

Since the most important purpose of a wedding invitation is to let guests know the particular details of the wedding it is important to ensure that these details are accurate. You will want to hold off on ordering your invitations until you have finalized all of the details to ensure that your invitations are printed with accurate information. In order to avoid confusion that results from misinformation on you your invitations, it is critical that you proofread your invitations several times to ensure that all of the information in correct. Once you have proofread the invitation a few times, you might consider having someone else proofread it as well. This is sometimes necessary because it is easy to overlook a mistake on your invitation when you know what the invitation should say. Sometimes your mind will subconsciously fix the error making it appear as though everything is correct when it is really not. It is imperative that you ensure that the details of your wedding invitation are accurate but it is also very important to proofread the entire invitation to make sure that there are no other errors. Check your names and your parent's names, if they appear on the invitation, carefully to ensure that they are spelled correctly and also check the spelling and punctuation of the rest of the text. Wedding information that is accurate and contains no errors is sure to make a wonderful impression on your guests and can help to avoid guests from missing parts of the wedding because they were misinformed by inaccurate information on the invitation.

The look of your wedding invitation can say a lot about your taste and your expectations for your wedding. If you are planning to have a particular theme for your wedding, you might want to incorporate your theme in your wedding invitation to give your guests a hint at what they can expect at your wedding. If you are planning to incorporate a theme of old fashioned movie romances you might want to invest in invitations that depict a scene or make a reference to an old fashioned romantic movie such as Casablanca. Or if you plan to have a wedding with a Hawaiian or beach theme you might choose invitation that conveys this sentiment with a background picture of a beach or a whimsical border with a Hawaiian pattern. While not all weddings have a particular theme, if you are planning on having a theme, it's a fun idea to purchase invitations that express this theme to your guests.

The wording that you use on your wedding invitations can also make an impression on your guests. You will want to ensure that the text of the invitation matches with the formality of the wedding. If you plan to have a wedding with a relaxed atmosphere you can afford to be creative and original in your wording but if your wedding will be more conservative you will want to use language that will convey this sentiment. While slang and vulgarity are never appropriate verbiage on a wedding invitation it is acceptable to use more relaxed speech if the wedding is expected to be casual.

Many guests form their first impressions of a wedding based on the invitations. Since this is true, it is important to exercise caution and ensure that your wedding invitations will convey the message that you wish them to express. If you want to maintain a degree of formality in your wedding, then your invitations should also be very formal. Conversely, if you expect your wedding to be casual with a relaxed atmosphere, it is acceptable to send out invitations that are informal. <bio>Ex-Wedding Planner Assistant Reveals How Anyone Getting Married Can Put At Least $2474.11 Back Into Their Pockets...
If you want a dining room that presents an ambiance of formality and elegance, no seating style will serve you better than that offered by parsons chairs. Parsons chairs are the dining chair of choice for many discerning homeowners and the reasons for this are self evident. Offering comfortable seating with a royal look and feel, these chairs truly enhance the dining experience.

If you think you don't know what parsons chairs are, you probably do but you just don't realize it. Parsons chairs are the upholstered dining room chairs that are crafted from wood frames with padded seating. When people imagine the most elegant of dining room settings, parsons chairs are usually the seating style they picture. However, these chairs should not be limited to the dining room. Parsons chairs are a great way to introduce additional seating into living rooms and bedrooms as well.

While parsons chairs themselves are often formal in nature, the true ambiance of the chair is determined by its fabric. For instance, if you wanted your chairs to give off a look and feel of formality, you could choose parsons chairs upholstered with chenille, toile, or jacquard fabrics. On the other hand, if you wanted your dining room to present a contemporary atmosphere, you would want to select a fabric that would compliment that atmosphere. Parsons chairs are even available upholstered in scenic fabrics that present themes, such as an African safari, allowing them to gracefully enhance almost any decor.

The type of fabric used to upholster your parsons chairs is not the only choice you have to make when deciding how you want your chairs to look. The way the chair is upholstered is also an important decision. Some parsons chairs feature only upholstered seats and backs, allowing the legs of the chair to show. More often than not, the legs of parsons chairs feature the cabriolet or Queen Anne styles, although other styles are available. There are also parsons chairs that feature "skirts" which drape to the ground and cover the chair's legs. If you want skirts on your chairs, you should determine whether you prefer a straight skirt or a skirt with trim.

Parsons chairs have been a long-standing formal seating tradition for many generations. If you want to entertain your guests with impeccable grace and style, parsons chairs are an absolute must. <bio>Jesse Akre, owner of numerous home and garden decor websites, makes it easy to find fabulous http://www.gourmetdecorstore.com/bakersracks.html and comfortable yet sleek http://www.gourmetdecorstore.com/parsons-chairs.html .
Curtain and drape are one of the most important decorations in the house. Format and design of curtain reflects the preference and taste of the house owner. However, there are many people who still do not know about how many types of curtain and drape tops available in the market, so sometime they made wrong decision when they have to choose ones. This article will give you the basic introduction about how many types of curtain and drape tops as well as some little tips about how to choose and install them properly. There are some types of curtain and drape tops (also called curtain heading) that commonly used and available in the market, now let's get to know them.

The Standard type Many of home owners may familiar with this type. Standard curtain heading normally consists single one-inched tape was tied up in to a narrow heading. This type of heading is commonly used with free style curtains or with drapes that need less formality or in the corner of the house, where people not often access. The method of installation the heading is simple, normally there will be small drapes with a synthetic tape, and therefore by using this synthetic tape you do not have to tighten the curtain rod, so this is so convenient. The standard type of curtain heading suitable with dormer windows and cottage windows. They also used just half the width of the curtain. The materials that made standard curtain heading are cheap so if you have limited budget you can use this type and if you not require extremely neat and sophisticate work, the standard type probable suitable for you.

The Pencil Pleat In case if you do not have valance or pelmet but you still want a very good looking curtain decoration style, the Pencil Pleat heading style may be suitable for you. We can find many of house and rooms that decorated by modern style furniture will use the type of heading. However, there is one important thing when you use this curtain that you must leave the space about 2/3 width of the window to make the heading and curtains look neat and match.

The Slot Pleat This is the most simplest form of curtain headings. The heading style can be made by cutting slot in a cased header tape to feed a pole through. Even though this heading style is simple, but they provide very good look and you can even make them more attractive by allow the rest of the curtain to stand above the header tape. And again like the Pencil Pleat heading you should leave the space about 2/3 width of the window and in order to make the pleats maintain the position as well as pleasant look.

The Cartridge Pleat Cartridge Pleat sometimes called "goblet pleat". The name goblet pleat derives from the pleats that form up on the top of the heading and they look similar to the goblet glass. This type of heading is quite special and need extra material such as polyester or tissue paper to stuff into the top of each pole to make them constantly form up. This type of heading is mostly used with curtain style that need formality and you have to make the curtain stretch in full length to make it looks impressive. <bio>Cherdkiat Taesookavat is an architect, providing information and directories about home decor, please visit http://www.curtainforhome.com/ </bio>

Email newsletters are clogging your Inbox. And it's not just you. It's everybody. Email newsletters are a great way for people to stay in touch with their audiences and everybody knows it. And that means everybody has a newsletter and they all want you to sign-up, giving them your email address along with an invitation to email you with whatever they might be offering.

This is not entirely a bad thing. Fact is; we're receiving more free information than we ever have before. All these merchants are trying to capture our attention and gain our trust with valuable content. And of course, we have to option to sign up for whichever newsletters we might be interested in so the information we're getting is essentially by request. But the sad reality is that most email newsletters never get read. In fact, a recent study found that only 19% of email newsletters ever get looked at. That's bad news for those writing them.

If you've had any experience with email newsletters, you'll know that they tend to fall into two buckets. In the first bucket, you'll find the cookie-cutter newsletters with standardized formats, nicely crafted colorful layouts, interesting sidebars and perfectly positioned articles. In the second bucket, you'll find the emails that come to you regularly from a provider you signed up for but that look more like a personal text email than a formal newsletter. And as it turns out, these two approaches deliver very different results.

The probability of having a conversational text-based email read are far greater than having a standardized and html-formatted newsletter read and it's because recipients perceive the former as a personal message and the latter as spam. Of course, it doesn't take long before they realize that the supposedly personal message is spam as well but if the opening sentence or two are captivating enough, the recipient may already be caught in the web and destined to read the whole thing.

For those of us who send out periodic email newsletters, there are a couple lessons we can learn from all this. For starters, if you're using a standardized newsletter template, consider changing to a less structured and more conversational format. And by the way, this includes the title. Don't reference "monthly newsletter" in the subject line. Instead, use something more timely and unique. Use a title you would write to a friend, something that looks more personal.

Anyone who uses Outlook knows that the preview pane allows you to glance inside the email before actually opening it. This is where the standardized format can really hurt you. If the contents are just straight text and appear more conversational, the chances of having the email opened goes up dramatically. And a strong timely subject line adds to that probability as well.

Once the email is open or at least being viewed through the preview pane, make absolutely sure your opening sentence or two are dynamic and captivating. Make sure those opening words are well-written and that they clearly define the value available to the recipient if they read further. This is the biggest mistake of standardized newsletters. They always have some boring standardized text at the very top. Don't do it. Make sure your opening sentence is unique for each newsletter and encourages the recipient to continue reading.

Taking this approach may reduce the perceived formality of your newsletter but it will definitely increase the number of people who read it. Don't get caught up with the formality issue. If you're presenting valuable information, your clients will respect you plenty. The sad reality happens when you send out valuable information and nobody knows because nobody read it. You're better off catering to people's natural curiosities and write your period newsletters in a casual and personal way. <bio>Tactical Execution with Patrick Schwerdtfeger (http://www.tacticalexecution.com) is a strategic company focused on growth marketing and program implementation across business markets.
More people decorate their homes during the fall and winter months than at any other time of the year, and with good reason! We spend more time indoors, we owe it to ourselves and our families to create a comfortable place to be! Here are the best ways to save BIG bucks on your home decorating

Start with plan. I know you've heard this before, but having a plan doesn't necessarily mean you know exactly everything you want to do in your rooms ahead of time. What it does mean is having a starting point to keep you in the ballpark, and that will save you A LOT of money in mistakes in the long run. So start with the three things you need...Color, Style, and Formality. Color is easy...if you don't already have a color scheme you love, find one in a book or magazine, and borrow it! Still unsure? Pick your favorite color, plus white, never fail combo. Style? Maybe you know you love Country Farmhouse. Or maybe you like a little of everything! That's ok, just make sure you give the room style a name that includes the feeling you want in the room, and that will keep you on track. For instance, I have a Fresh and Sunny Cottage Room for my family room. (I use sunny as a feeling as well as a visual clue!) Keep the feeling in the name, and you will pick the right style every time! Finally, formality. Know if you like a more formal room, where things on both sides of the room match, or a more informal feel. So my family room description would go something like this...I want an informal Fresh Sunny Cottage style full of soft blue, green yellow and white. So every time I buy something, I know if it doesn't fit in that description, it doesn't fit period!

Look for alternatives to everything!!! Flat sheets on sale are a great buy...I can get one at my discount store for $2.89. A flat sheet is generally 66x96 inches...that's over 3 yards of fabric for less than 97 cents a yard! Can't beat that, and flat sheets come in so many colors. When in doubt, buy white! Use them for tablecovers, curtain panels, making comforter covers, throw pillow covers, or even casual slipcovers! If you find a great color, stock up during a white sale...you will always find uses for fabric that fits into your color scheme.

Look for furniture at yard sales and in the classifeds. You can get quality furniture this way for a fraction of what it would cost you new. Learn to make do with the furniture you have with the art of disguise. Slipcovers, paint and floor length tablecloths go a long way towards dressing up an otherwise forgettable piece of furniture. By the way, you can paint ANYTHING these days! The trick is to use a specialty blocking primer before painting...I recommend KILZ Original. Yes, you can even paint that ugly laminate bookcase or computer desk! All your furniture mismatched in style and form? Paint it all one color, and it will help marry and unify your furniture grouping. (I love white or black for furniture, depending on the style of your room.)

Finally, look for good resources to help you learn to create your own accessories, custom paint finishes, and inspirational ideas such as TheBudgetDecorator.com.

With a little advanced thinking and a bit of creativity, anyone can have a well decorated home! <bio>Kathy Wilson is an author, columnist, and editor of The Budget Decorator, Decorating Your Small Space, and Decorating Cottage Style.
RIDDLE! What is it? They spend thousands encouraging us to buy it. We are advised never to go on holiday without it. But when we want to buy it, they don't want to sell it to us. Read on ...........

So after much deliberation we have chosen the holiday destination, sorted out the flights, and already we are picturing ourselves languishing on warm sands with the inviting blue sea stretching before us, and we just have the minor formality of the holiday travel insurance and then all the arrangements will be complete. Did I say MINOR? Well, yes, holiday insurance was once just a minor formality, but now for retired folk or senior citizens it has become a MAJOR, MAJOR problem. (In fact, when talking to friends it appears that holiday insurance has replaced house prices as the after dinner discussion). The problem is not just about how health affects the cost of insurance but it's about how age affects the cost of insurance. Isn't it amazing how an insurance company can take your annual holiday insurance payments for years, you have never made a claim, and suddenly because you have just passed a certain birthday you are too risky to consider. Your medical history may be fine, in fact you may be fitter than the 30 year old couch potato on the end of the telephone, but that doesn't count - the only thing that counts is the date on your birth certificate. And when you do find an insurance company who will cover you, you find that the premium costs more than the holiday.

However, one thing is certain, WE MUST HAVE HOLIDAY TRAVEL INSURANCE (you realize how essential it is when you consider that an air ambulance from the USA will set you back approx £35,000), and another important point is to be honest when declaring your medical history, because Insurance Companies are not charities and will possibly look into your medical history hoping to find some information (however slight you may have considered it at the time it was recorded) to avoid paying for example that air ambulance cost from the USA.

A timely reminder that the E111 was discontinued on 31 December 05 and was replaced by the EHIC (the European Health Insurance Card), which you can obtain from the Post Office or www.dh.gov.uk. It is useful to take this, but it is definitely not a substitute for personal holiday insurance.

And whilst on the subject of European holidays; a couple of years back we met a group of Spanish pensioners having a great time on the Costa del Sol. We found out why it was such a joyous occasion, it came courtesy of the Spanish Government - the Government treats senior citizens to a week's free holiday. On reflection, it could possibly work out cheaper for the National Health if our senior citizens were sent to warmer climes during the winter when bronchitis and respiratory problems abound. Mr Brown, it's food for thought. After all, he informs us that in 2008 we shall be receiving free bus travel throughout the country, so perhaps we can but dream that the boundaries be extended somewhat. However, there is still the problem of the necessary holiday travel insurance.

A recent survey found that 9 out of 10 annual travel policies impose an upper age limit.
Preparing for a job interview is extremely stressful =96 there's simply no denying it. The 30 minutes of intense questions and answers will decide the direction your life will take for you, so it's imperative to make it count. At our online travel jobs website (http://www.puregenie.com), we try to prepare our visitors for their job interviews by giving an insight into what's expected. Nonetheless, having worked in recruitment for over 10 years I have seen the same job interview mistakes occurring time and time again. The good news is that all of them are fixable with a little research and some practice when preparing for a job interview.

In preparing for a job interview, be sure you don't fall into the following 10 traps:

1) Poor presentation or dressing in the wrong way for the tone of the job interview.

Why it may ruin your job interview:

If you don't give the impression that you care about your appearance then you will be judged accordingly =96 after all, if you don't make the effort when preparing for a job interview, why would you pull your weight for their company if appointed?

How it can be corrected:

Take some time to appear well groomed and professional looking. Although some offices are increasingly less formal with clothes, you don't want to assume it applies to interviewees too, so phone up in advance and enquire about the dress code. If this is impossible, it's best to err on the side of caution and appear overdressed rather than under, for the reason explained above.

2) Nervous job interview body language

Why it may ruin your job interview:

If you find yourself fidgeting, slouching or refusing to hold the interviewer's eye contact in the interview, you will come across as lacking in confidence, and no employer will be impressed by someone so timid and awkward around people.

How it can be corrected:

Some nerves are expected and acceptable in a job interview, so don't make yourself more nervous worrying about this one. On the other hand, appearing more confident than a rival candidate with similar ability can give you the edge, so try to seem assertive. Greet your interviewer with a firm handshake, maintain eye contact and stand straight.

3) Not listening at the job interview

Why it may ruin your job interview:

Some people who are worried about their job interview performance actually manage to shoot themselves in the foot by planning too carefully! If you attempt to counter your nerves by planning your responses to potential questions while the interviewer talks you may miss out some valuable information about the work, the questions and any tasks you are to be set.

How it can be corrected:

Just relax, listen and show the interviewer you are hearing their points. Match their style and pace, and they will be aware you are following their lead.

4) Verbal overkill!

Why it may ruin your job interview:

The point of the interview is to find out about you, your aims and your attitude, but if you overdo it, they'll have their answer! This is often a problem with under prepared candidates, who make up for their lack of succinct answers by rambling.

How it can be corrected:

Carefully preparing for a job interview is essential =96 match the job specifications to your own abilities and be sure to only share relevant information with the interview panel. Listen to yourself talking, and if you feel yourself slipping off the question, then sharply bring yourself back around.

5) Appearing over confident in your job interview

Why it may ruin your job interview:

If there's one thing worse than a timid interview candidate, it's one who's overconfident to the point of arrogance. Nothing can get an interviewer's back up than a candidate's brashness, and it's all too common for this to result in no job offer at the end of the process.

How it can be corrected: This one is usually the result of reserved candidates going too far the other way, but if it's a personality issue it's quite hard to correct because you may not know you're coming across as brash! While it's important not to play down your achievements, try and be slightly modest about them without ever make them seem easy for just anyone to accomplish.

6) Not maintaining formality in the job interview

Why it may ruin your job interview:

No matter what the tone of the interview, the dynamic remains the same: the interviewer is in control, and you need to be polite and respectful at all times, maintaining the decorum of the situation. Different interviews have varying levels of formality, but even if the interviewer is being casual and informal, don't assume you can relax and behave how you would with your friends =96 it makes you seem a less serious candidate unaware of the situation.

How it can be corrected:

Try to match the tone your interviewer adopts, but don't step beyond it. If it's a stuffy environment with no room for humour, then don't crack a joke. On the other hand, if they are being deliberately informal to help you relax; show you appreciate the effort by dropping the formality a notch.

7) Answering questions without thinking

How it may ruin your job interview:

If you jump straight in to answer a question without thinking your answer through, you'll end up rambling and, unless you're very good at blagging, you're unlikely to impress the interviewer this way.

How it can be corrected:

It's understandable that you don't want to leave an awkward pause, but most interviewers would rather you take time out to think of an appropriate time you showed the required skills than for you to list any old thing because you're under pressure. Ask if it's okay for you to take a moment to think =96 don't take too long, but ensure there will be no pointless ramble.

8) Failing to keep your job interview language formal

How it may ruin your job interview:

This one seems obvious, but if you don't keep your language formal and appropriate you may end up causing offence and ensuring that you don't make the impression of an on-the-ball employee.

How it can be corrected: Don't try and temper this to the degree that you sound forced and insincere, but ensure that there is no slang in your speech, and steer clear of any references to age, politics or religion.

9) Any Questions? No.

How it may ruin your job interview:

It may seem like an innocent question to give you something to say at the end of the interview, but often the "Do you have any questions about the job" enquiry is designed to test your enthusiasm for the role. Unless they've been remarkably detailed in their talking, there's bound to be something to ask =96 and if you don't and your competitor does, guess who seems more excited about the role!

How it can be corrected:

Listen carefully to everything said in the interview, and if a point appears that you'd like more information about, make a mental note to bring it up later. If they've been incredibly thorough and there's nothing to say, you can either ask about when you'll hear the outcome of the job interview, or turn it into a compliment of how thorough they've been!

10) Candidate seems unnervingly desperate (Employ me, pleeeeease!)

How it may ruin your job interview:

This really is quite understandable, especially if it is your dream job or you're currently unemployed, but unfortunately appearing incredibly needy is a major turn off for employers. It undermines your confidence and makes you seem desperate.

How it can be corrected:

Try to dampen your desperation =96 appear keen and enthusiastic, but not unnervingly so. Remain cool and calm and let your performance and skills do the talking. Also, make sure you don't follow up your job interview with endless pestering emails and phone calls =96 it can really undermine the impression you gave the employers. <bio>Gail Kenny is the managing director of Puregenie (http://www.puregenie.com) =96 an online recruitment agency for the travel industry. </bio>

The wedding dress is usually the centerpiece of the wedding celebration. The wedding dress is not just another dress. It has become the symbol of love and hope for the future. Wedding dresses are literally the icing on the cake on every bride's big wedding day. Your wedding dress should be unique to your style and tell the world exactly who you are. After all it is your special day. Your wedding dress is the key way that you share yourself with your wedding guests, and of course, your groom.

The first thing you want to do before looking for the perfect wedding dress is to have an idea of the way you want your dress to look. Choosing a wedding dress will requires your valuable time as well as your attention. Know what design and style you like, and you should take images of the design you like with you when shopping for your wedding dress. Just remember that the perfect gown is the one that makes you look and feel your best.

Take a friend, or someone you trust, with you to get their opinion as you try on dresses. You need to choose a wedding dress design that will be appropriate and compliment your wedding level of formality, d=E9cor, and venue.

Wedding dresses are available from a wide variety of sources. There are specific bridal shops, both chain stores and independent retailers. These shops specialize in wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses. These places can be a good start to search for that perfect wedding dress you dreamed of.

If you are having a formal wedding, the bride generally wears a long white or cream colored wedding dress with a veil and gloves. In an informal wedding, brides have more flexibility. They can wear wedding dresses of any color and they can be short or long. Have a style in mind but don't get stuck on one particular dress.

If you have a lot of time before the wedding, then look for sales at wedding shops. Many wedding dresses go on sale after the month of June. Wedding veils are cheaper than the wedding dress, so go ahead and spend more on a great veil when you can save money on the wedding dress.

Choosing a wedding dress is one of the bride's biggest decisions, next to choosing her groom. Many brides start searching for the perfect wedding dress as early as a year before the wedding day. The perfect dress makes for the perfect day. <bio>Denise Duncan has been involved in the wedding planning business for a number of years, and is an author and editor for http://www.mywedding-information.com/ . </bio>

Early in the wedding planning process, you have to decide on your wedding style. Your wedding style shouldn't have anything to do with how much money you have, your occupation, or your age. Your wedding style is simply a reflection of who you are, and how you feel comfortable as a person. Don't let anyone dictate what style you ought to have. It is your wedding and it is your decision.

You may choose to have a forma, informal, or something in between wedding style. All of them can be enjoyable. A wedding in a church is always going to be more formal than a wedding in someone's house or a wedding on the beach.

Formal weddings normally take place in a church, a historical building or location, or a park. The bride and groom each has up to ten attendants. Formal attire is required, the bride wears formal bridal gown, and the groom wears cutaway or tailcoat. Attendees required to wear formal attire. For men a white tie may be required. The formal reception is sit-down meal. In some cases a buffet meal may be acceptable. Everything from the invitations to the transportations is formal. Instead of a DJ, a full orchestra or a live band is part of the formal wedding.

Informal weddings are becoming more-and-more popular. Informal weddings can take place in a house of worship, but a house, or a romantic beach location is more likely. The bride and groom may have one or a few attendants. The wedding dress is less formal, usually a shorter length gown. The groom and his attendants, normally wear suits or sport jackets. Women guests wear street-length dresses, while male guests wear sport jackets. Informal receptions can take place in a variety of different locations such as a house, a restaurant. If the wedding is held at a house, a caterer is usually hired. The food is normally buffet style. Music is provided by DJs.

Regardless of what wedding style you choose, you and your guests should have a great time. It is not the formality or informality that matters, but whether or not the environment you create for your wedding is a place that you enjoy. <bio>Author: George Meszaros with http://www.americasbridalshop.com </bio>

I never dreamed that I would have a job that I loved as much as I love my job as a wedding planner. Many days I cannot believe that I am getting paid to something that I love so much. I enjoy my job so much for two main reasons. First, I enjoy it because I genuinely love helping people. Second, I love being a wedding planner because I love weddings and I love seeing people enter into lifelong covenant relationships. I enjoy helping to plan great themes and all the details to make a wedding day extra special. I have been suggesting a Japanese garden theme to some clients lately.

I have been fascinated with all things Japanese and remotely Japanese looking for the last several years, and so I think that is why I try to incorporate a Japanese garden theme into weddings as often as possible lately. Most of my clients are a little surprised by the idea, but a few have actually decided to go with a Japanese garden theme for their wedding and reception.

The great thing about a Japanese garden theme is that it is colorful and beautiful while allowing for great flexibility and uniqueness. I cannot stand seeing people choose a theme for their wedding and reception that has been done so many times before. So I love aiding people in coming up with unique themes that fit them perfectly. With a Japanese garden theme, there really is room to tailor the theme to many different styles, seasons, and degrees of formality for weddings and receptions. I can help a couple plan a Japanese garden themed brunch or a black tie evening affair.

So if you are looking for a great theme for your wedding or for a party of any kind, then think about choosing a Japanese garden theme. Do a little research and get some ideas of what is available in your area. See what kinds of foods, invitations and flowers you like that might go with a Japanese garden theme. Talk to a wedding planner or to any friends with a sense of style and planning to gather even more ideas. You might be surprised at what a perfect theme a Japanese garden is for many occasions. Especially if you are someone that likes to learn about and honor the traditions and customs of other cultures, a Japanese garden theme is something you should investigate carefully. <bio>Analeese Burnabaker is a wedding planner that loves to help clients create unique and fitting themes.
When you travel to France, you can't help but be taken in by the French customs and culture. France is a beautiful country, and the stereotype that the French are rude is blissfully wrong. When you take a trip to France, be sure to spend some time taking a break from tourist attractions to soak up the French culture and customs.

Eat Like the French

Everyone seems to associate French culture and customs with food, which isn't a bad place to start. The French love their food, and mealtime is a leisurely affair to be spent with family and friends. While it seems like many Americans try to eat as quickly as possible, often on the run in the car or in front of the television, the French eat slowly and savor each meal. The culture and customs of French eating trend toward long, leisurely meals with smaller portions of rich foods. The French sit at the table to eat (not in front of the television), and eat late dinners, often with multiple courses. And wine almost always accompanies the meal.

Fashion and Style

Fashion and style is often closely associated with France. And while many if the world's top designers hail from France, the custom of French culture is also highly fashionable. The French are, as a whole, well dressed and take pride in their overall appearance. While jeans, t-shirts, and sweatpants are commonplace in the United States, they are far less common in France. Women are known for their high heels, and the graphic t-shirts that are so prevalent in the United States are rarely seen. There is a feeling of formality, and well-made, well-tailored clothes are the norm. While you are in France, take a trip to one of the world-renowned department stores, such as Galleries Lafayette or Printemps to take in some French fashion.

French Customs and Culture for Travelers

There are some French customs and culture to know when you are traveling to France to make your trip more enjoyable. First, slow down. The pace of life in France is much more leisurely =96 take the time to enjoy your trip and to soak up the culture around you. Second, be sure to enjoy a meal or two in a French caf=E9. The caf=E9 culture is an essential part of France, especially in Paris, and no trip to France would be complete without it. When you are in a restaurant, the tip is generally included in your bill; generally, it is considered appropriate to round the bill up to leave an extra Euro or two for good service. And finally, make the effort to try to speak French, even if you can only ask if someone speaks English. http://www.living-in-france.org <bio>http://www.living-in-france.org </bio>

One of the objectives to beautify this part of the home is to convert this place into a comfortable environment for relaxation.

A feeling of warmness is generated by putting the wrought iron fireplace screen irrespective of the fact whether you have a roaring fire crackling, glowing candles or even an free space behind it. Opting for this material for your home is ideal because of its long life and grace. The screen goes well with any type of décor.

Numerous designs of fireplace screen can be fabricated from wrought iron. Craftsmen adore producing wrought iron fireplace screens using this material because the design selections are virtually endless.

You can buy a couple of elements for your fireplace screen. Just by replacing the element, you can change the entire touch of the room. You can buy one formal and another informal element and then use them for specific purpose for special occasions.

Rotating fireplace screens are also available. If you are fond of hosting parties, you can rotate your wrought iron fireplace screen according to the event being hosted in your home.

Fireplace screens are available in plenty of design, e.g. in the design of garden gate. In this kind of design, number of panels are set in such a way that the design looks just like a garden gate. The candles gleaming behind decorative elements give elegance to the room. These wrough iron fireplace screens are ideal casual get-togethers.

The other kind of fireplace screen is a monogram wrought iron fireplace screen that conveys formality and fine decorum. This kind of element is usually used in winters. The unusual monogram is made in bronze and looks marvelous in combination with black iron. The crackling fire burning behind it makes the fireplace screen look brilliant. This wrought iron fireplace screen is perfect for formal events. <bio>Andrew Caxton is the editor of more online articles on fireplaces related subjects.
It is irrelevant whether your fireplace area is working or non-working, putting a wrought iron fireplace screen will be a prefect selection to this very important point of the room.

The screen goes well with any type of d=E9cor.

French Formal Gardens Employ Cast Stone Fountains

France is famous for its romantic cast stone fountains, but it's also rich in gardens that reflect its cultural taste, as those tastes have been from the Middle Ages to the present. What better way to breathe in the essence of the French than to wander outdoors in designed spaces where you can smell and touch the living displays, sit by a refreshing cast stone fountain and move freely and absorb at your own pace?

French gardens, particularly the French formal garden can engage all five senses. In the 16th Century, French courtiers built their chateau gardens along the Loire Valley fertile riverbanks. The homes were essentially small turreted castles that reeked of charm. Many of these same chateaux and their formal French gardens with cast stone fountains are open to the public today so that the owners may qualify for government tax breaks and grants.

The French Gardens and Cast Stone Fountains Were an Inspiration for Other Countries

Italian artists who traveled through Europe were inspired by French gardens and their cast stone fountains where architecture took pride of place over nature. Very strict geometric perspectives were used to show buildings to their best advantage. The French formal gardens at Versailles, designed by Andre Le Notre, were inspired by the sun-symbol chosen by King Louis XIV, the main axes corresponding to the points of the compass. Flowerbeds edged with trimmed box hedges were planted. Garden specialist Gabrielle van Zuylen sees the influence of Versailles at Blenheim Palace in England, in St. Petersburg (Russia), at La Granja near Segovia (Spain) and in Caserta near Naples (Italy). Le Notre's radiating garden paths even served as inspiration for the town plan of Washington D. C. The cast stone fountains appeared in many of these palaces and estates.

French Formal Gardens Represent Extreme Formality

The most favored style for great house gardens in Europe during much of this period derived from the influence of the French designer Andre' Le Notre, creator of the gardens at Versailles. The French style represented an extreme of formality, with box-edged parterres (elaborate and geometrical beds) typically placed near the residence to provide an arranged view. The cast stone fountain usually was set in the center as the focal point of where it all came together. Trees were grouped in neat plantations or in bold lines along avenues, with terraces and statuary carefully placed to emphasize the architectural symmetry of the grand manner. The widespread adoption of this style among the European nobility and gentry reflected the potency of French cultural influence at the time. It was also related, on a practical basis, to the limited availability of planting materials, especially those offering autumn and winter display. Visit http://www.garden-fountains.com/cast-stone-fountain-patinas.htm to learn about more decorative ideas for your cast stone garden feature.

The change to a more natural style of gardening came about when, in the latter part of the 18th century, the opinion arose among leading gardeners, particularly those of the English gentry, that the French formal garden manner brought with it a certain monotony. The increasing importation of foreign plants also brought with it opportunities for a large-scale transformation.

The Allee in a French Formal Garden

The allee (accent is placed over the second e) feature of the French formal garden was both a promenade and an extension of the view. It either ended in a terminal feature, such as a garden temple, a cast stone fountain or extended into apparent infinity at the horizon.

The allee normally passed through a planted boscage (a small wood); in the 17th century the boscage was square-trimmed at the sides and on top; later the sides were trained so high that the free-branching trees within the wood were invisible. As architectural gardening became unfashionable in the 18th century, the trimming of trees ceased, and the straight allee gave way to the meandering walk past the cast stone fountain. Check out http://www.garden-fountains.com/Detail.bok?no=119 to see a unique French-styled cast stone fountain.

Towards the end of the 18th century, the French formal garden came to be seen as too artificial and gave way to the English landscaped park style. Lovers of poetry and painting forsook straight lines in favor of "natural" landscapes composed of hills, woods, ponds and waterfalls but still, the cast stone fountain remained. The Romantics liked their paintings to include ruins and mausoleums. The garden became a theatre set, expressing the aspirations of 18th-century man in search of knowledge.

The French do insist that their plant life be well behaved. Tidiness is mandatory. Orderliness is essential. Just step into the French formal garden and stroll past the cast stone fountain to enjoy the Gallic appreciation of nuance, opulence and romance. <bio>Elizabeth Jean is the author of this article written for http://Garden-Fountains.com, a premier Internet resource for wall fountains and garden fountains. </bio>

Decorating your home can be fun but it can also be intimidating. If you have to hire a professional to take care of the bigger things and only focus on the smaller ones.

The thought alone of decorating a room can seem a little intimidating. How can one person alone create a fantastic decorating style for their home? Well the good news is that it is possible; you just have to know what to look for and what you want.

Creating a Room on Your Own

Designing a room on your own can be intimidating but it can be done. Even if you know nothing about design, you know your own style and that is all that really matters. There are so many places you can get inspiration to help you find what looks good and what doesn't so there is no excuse not to be able to decorate yourself.

However, you can hire a professional if you really want to but you should only enlist their help for the bigger things. The smaller decorations should be left to you. After all, it is your home and it needs to be your style. You will feel such pleasure from knowing that you have created something yourself and it will make relaxing in your home a lot more personal to you.

The first thing you need to do is to decide which room you want to decorate first. Obviously the room that you are decorating will determine what you put in it. For example, in a living room you want a cozy and inviting room which provides somewhere for you to relax. So you want it to look homely. For that you will need nice pictures on the wall, perhaps flowers in vases and ornamental pebbles in a bowl placed either on a fireplace or a unit. You will want a nice neutral sofa and comfy cushions and various ornaments; though not too many otherwise the home will look cluttered.

In the bathroom on the other hand you may want to keep things simple and only have things such as a medicine cupboard and a small towel rail to keep the towels on when not in use. Color scheme wise bathrooms are usually light and airy and it will completely depend upon your own personal taste what you have in there. It is perhaps one of the simplest rooms to decorate so if you want to make a start but you don't know where to begin; the bathroom is the room for you.

If you want to try something a little more complicated on the other hand, then why not try decorating your study? The study should be slightly formal with an intimate feel to it. An antique desk looks particularly good in a study and it also adds the formality that you are after. In order to find a good one you will need to go around to various dealers and see if you find anything that you like. The walls can also be colored a warm color such as a warm red. Bookshelves if they will fit are also a good idea. Generally you get to have a little more input with the furniture in the study and it is slightly harder than decorating a bathroom!

Overall it is certainly not impossible for you to decorate your home yourself. In fact it can be quite enjoyable. You just need to research a little to be confident about what you are doing and that way you will not get anything wrong. <bio>Andrew Caxton use to write on interior design and similar subjects for http://www.home-decorating-reviews.com ..
You may have heard of Ombudsmen's before whereby an independent body resolves complaint and disputes. These have been around for many years.

The Financial Ombudsmen Scheme 2000 provides a service in which `certain disputes may be resolved quickly and with the minimum of formality by an independent person'. The FSOS aims not to punish firms for doing wrong but to put customers back in the position they would have been should situations not have gone wrong.

As from December 2001 the Financial Ombudsmen has taken over the following;

o The Personal Investment Authority Ombudsmen Bureau o The Insurance Ombudsmen Bureau o The Personal Insurance Arbitration Service o The Office of the Banking Ombudsmen o The Office of the Building Societies Ombudsmen o The office of the Investment Ombudsmen o The Financial Services Authority Complaints Unit o The SFA Complaints Bureau

The above are now formed into one unit as the Financial Services Authority recognized that having such a fragmented structure of Ombudsmen's operating in different ways was not providing an efficient service across the board and was lacking a consistent approach to dealing with issues. Therefore the Ombudsmen to deal with all of the above now operate as one single Unit. It does however recognize the need for some flexibility when dealing with different types of problems arising from the different areas of Financial Services and so has established three different divisions within the service;

o The banking and Loans Division o Investment Division o Insurance Division

What can the Financial Ombudsmen offer me as a Financial Services Customer?

A completely free service! The organization is funded by firms who are a member. Membership is compulsory for all firms authorized under the FSMA 2000.

Customers should make a complaint to the firm concerned first and be dealt with by the firms internal complaint procedure. Once this route has been exhausted and if you as a customer still feel unsatisfied you are applicable to refer your complaint to the Financial Services Ombudsmen Service. Complaint must be made to the FSOS within 6 months of the `deadlock letter'. This is the letter from the firm stating that they have made their final decision in the case of the complaint.

The FSOS will consult between both the firm and customer involved and suggest a way of resolution. If both parties do not come to an agreement then a formal investigation will commence. The FSOS can make awards of up to =A3100,000! <bio>Fred Inance writes for http://www.easyukloans.co.uk/Articles/General_Information/The_Financial_Omb= udsmen/ </bio>

Have you ever taken a photograph of a person, uploaded it online, and had the person contact you saying they were filing a lawsuit because they did not want their picture online? Well, this has never happened to me but if I did I'd be devastated! Having a model release will prevent you from having this problem. If you are selling pictures online then having a model sign a model release form of authorization will be an essential step you will need to take.

A model release is basically a legal document that the model signs saying that they give away all their rights for the photo. They give total control to you the photographer. This means you can edit the photo however you want without having to worry about the model coming back and suing you because you made him or her look too fat and ugly!

Model releases are not long documents and are usually only a page long. There is the information and at the bottom they sign and date the paper. Make sure when they sign it that it is signed in their actual name.

If you are selling stock photos or any other type of photography with models be sure to save your model releases. Make back up copies and scan them into your computer as well. Laminate the forms and hang them up on your wall! Protect those files with all your might.

Most of the models I photograph I end up becoming good friends with. Having one of my models try to sue me would be absolutely surprising to me and would never happen. If you have models that are close friends or family still get the model release! Some companies require that you upload model releases with photos that you submit. If you're submitting stock photos, loading the model release means that those that purchase the photo will have access to the model release as well. This protects them from legal issues as well.

For a person that is under the legal age of adulthood, a model release is still required. The only difference is that you need to have their legal guardian sign the form as well. Definitely get model releases for minors.

Overall lesson today is to get model release and don't skip out! It's very easy to fill out a model release form. Your model should also be very used to filling out these papers. It should be a usual formality that they do all the time. New and unexperienced models may be somewhat cautious about the releases but that's because they're new to it. It has nothing to do with their trust for you.

There are many other forms that you should fill out for other types of photographs. For example, if you take a picture of a building that isn't owned by you then you will also need to get a release of the property. Some stock photo agencies even require you to have a property release when taking pictures of dogs and such!

You have the legal right to take pictures wherever you want. This, however, does not mean that you are able to take these pictures and sell them as well. This is why you don't need model releases for certain editorials and such. It is the freedom of the press and that is what lets people have pictures of celebrities without having them sign model releases after sneaking in to get the scandalous shot. <bio>Al Sanchez has a great program that teaches how to sell pictures online at http://www.photoprofitz.com </bio>

Bermuda is a group of 150 volcanic islands in the North Atlantic 500 miles from North Carolina. The whole land area extends to only 20 square miles and Bermuda Island is the biggest.

Discovered by the Spanish in 1503, the island prospered with the arrival of English settlers in the early 1600's and those cultural links exist to this day.

Bermuda is still a British dependency and the British monarch is the official head of state. However, the island is self governing and has its own parliament.

Bermuda is world famous for its ability to attract tourists, and it's not surprising when you consider the beauty of the islands. The water is crystal clear, the sand is soft pink, the plants are light green and the sky is every shade of pastel blue.

Due to its history, the culture of Bermuda is a mixture of British formality and Caribbean

For example, while the politeness and conservatism of afternoon tea is still popular, the freedom and excitement of Gombey music and dance captures the essence of island life on Bermuda.

And while the old British values of politeness and neatness are appreciated by many of the native Bermudans, due to the climate of the area, the informality of Bermuda shorts are an acceptable part of business attire. Rather ironically these Bermudan shorts are frowned upon by most cruise lines in certain parts of the ship, such as the dining room.

Thanks to the Gulfstream, Bermuda has a great climate that allows all year round cruising. However, the peak season is from April to October. Unfortunately, this coincides with the hurricane season so your cruise could be interrupted if a storm moves into the area.

When your ship arrives in Bermuda, it will either dock in one of the two former city ports (Hamilton or St George) or the Royal Naval Dockyard at King's Wharf. Hamiltion or St George are better locations because the Naval Dockyard is rather isolated, although a number of shopping and eating places are beginning to appear.

If you cruise itinerary allows you to spend some time in Bermuda, bear in mind that cars are not available to rent. So if you want to get around the main island you'll have to do your sightseeing from a rented scooter. This is a great way to experience the freedom of the island, but you must get a copy of the local rules from the Bermuda Road Safety Council. Oh yes, and remember to drive on the left. <bio>To discover more about bermuda cruises and cruise vacations in general, visit Kristen Olsen's site at http://www.holidaycruisesguide.com </bio>

A great cardio, Pilates or yoga workout is a terrific way to clear your mind and get those creative juices flowing as you work out every detail of the wedding ceremony; from flower arrangements to seating arrangements.

Wedding Ceremony Tip #2 - Relax With Your Favorite Music

A great way to relieve the stress of planning your wedding ceremony is to listen to music. A terrific way to settle down when you are feeling wedding pressure building up is to play some great music. You might even give yourself the energy to finish up the planning and paperwork regarding invitations if you listen to music that reminds you of those first few dates with your husband-to-be.

Wedding Ceremony Tip #3 - Spoil Yourself at the Spa

Stress does nasty things to the skin. Pamper yourself at the spa with a relaxing facial, and get those hands and feet primped for the big day. A facial will not only make your skin look terrific for your wedding ceremony, it is also an awesome way to relax.

Wedding Ceremony Tip #4 - Make Time for Your Friends

When it feels like wedding ceremony preparations are about to make you snap it is probably the perfect time to put a pause on the planning and spend a little time with your friends. Go for coffee, or a glass of wine, or even a chocolate sundae. Spending time catching up and laughing with good friends is an excellent way to relieve wedding ceremony stress.

Wedding Ceremony Tip # - Consider Canning the Wedding Ceremony and=85 Eloping!

If all of the planning for your wedding ceremony still has you stressed out and miserable, perhaps a traditional wedding ceremony is not your style. Consider the possibility of canning all of the pomp and circumstance and settling for a much simpler wedding. All that is really required for a wedding is a bride and groom, a couple of witnesses, and an officiator.

Although eloping takes away the formality of a wedding ceremony, it also eliminates the stress. But regardless of how lavish you decide to make your wedding ceremony, remember to spend time mentally preparing yourself for this commitment, and allowing yourself to fully enjoy your wedding day. <bio>To learn exactly how I plan weddings, visit http://www.officialweddinginfo.com/ where you'll get help planning a wedding and much more. </bio>

You adorn your body with jewelry and your house with accessories, but what about your poor dining table? Doesn't it deserve some of that decoration too? Sure, you've got a wide array of china plates and crystal glasses, but you won't really be able to show off their attributes without the complementary flatware. Typically, flatware comes in three main categories: traditional, ornate and contemporary. You'll need to determine which category your china and crystal fall into before you go shopping for appropriate flatware. Your best bet is to stay within a particular style. If you've got ornate china then choose an ornate flatware set. It can work in rare cases but usually mixing styles just ends up looking confused.

Most families have at least two sets of flatware; one for everyday use, and one for formal occasions. Your best choice for everyday dining is stainless steel, as it retains its shine for many years of daily use. This is due to a mixture of steel, nickel and chromium, which gives stainless steel flatware its very durable finish.

However, nothing says elegance and formality quite like a sterling silver flatware set. Sterling silver is almost pure silver and must carry the word 'sterling' stamped on the back to guarantee authenticity. It must contain approximately 92.5% pure silver with 7.5% of an alloy for strength. Sterling silver flatware is, of course, much more expensive than stainless steel flatware, but it is well worth the price.

Both stainless steel flatware and sterling silver flatware will require some care to retain their shine. Stainless steel items can be washed either by hand or in a dishwasher, but should immediately be dried. Sterling silver flatware, on the other hand, should always be hand washed in warm, soapy water, rinsed in clear, hot water and dried immediately to prevent the occurrence of water spots. Furthermore, stainless steel and sterling silver flatware should never be left in direct contact as this can damage the silver.

Whether you choose to go with a stainless steel or sterling silver flatware set, you should always remember that the key element of your collection is the four-piece place setting. This includes the place fork, place knife, salad fork and teaspoon. Of course, you'll want some other pieces as well, but these are your foundation flatware pieces so you should fully investigate the look and feel of each set. And, don't be afraid to use your flatware. That's what it's there for; even if it is that pricey sterling silver flatware set you've had your eye on for ages. <bio>Jim Grayson makes a living in the field of research.
