<content:encoded><![CDATA[ There are presently many <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+car" rel="tag">hybrid car</a> models in the market. The hybrid car technology has become very popular that almost all carmakers would like to ride the trend. Other manufacturers that cannot produce their own technology are buying technology from big companies that are ahead in the development of <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+cars" rel="tag">hybrid cars</a>. Some companies are having a tie up with other companies so that they will come up with good models that they could use together.<br /><br /><br /><br /> Toyota's Offering <br /><br /> Later, Toyota introduced the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/toyota+prius" rel="tag">Toyota Prius</a> in the US. Presently, this model is the most popular hybrid car in the market. The Toyota Prius has a very efficient EPA rating and it has the lowest emission rating of up to 90 percent reduction compared to a regular vehicle. The good news is that the price of Toyota Prius can compete very well with the other cars of its type. It is actually the first hybrid car that was mass-produced. <br /><br /> Toyota Motors have high hopes with the future of hybrid vehicles. Not only was it evident in the research and development that they put into the famous Toyota Prius. They proved the sincerity of this belief by introducing other models of the SUV line. They introduced to the market the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/highlander+hybrid" rel="tag">Highlander hybrid</a> and Lexus SUV hybrid in the year 2005. <br /><br /> Honda's First Hybrid Car Models <br /><br /> Honda first released Insight in the year 1999. They were the first carmaker to offer <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+electric+car" rel="tag">hybrid electric car</a> in the USA. This model has gained a little popularity in the first five years that it was on the market. It was designed to be very fuel efficient so it was built with a lightweight aluminum chassis. It was a two-seater vehicle. <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/honda+insight+hybrid" rel="tag">Honda Insight Hybrid</a> was an environment friendly model. Aside from being fuel efficient, it was made to produce very low emission. There was an earlier version of this model that was released in Japan and Los Angeles in 1997. <br /><br /> Honda vs. Toyota <br /><br /> Honda being threatened by the popularity of the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/toyota+hybrids" rel="tag">Toyota hybrids</a> introduced to the market their new model of a hybrid car that will compete with the very popular Toyota Prius. Honda launched a hybrid version of the Civic model. The hybrid model of Civic was known to be 30% more efficient than the non-hybrid Civic. Like the original model, the Civic hybrid is a four-door sedan that accommodates 5 passengers. The hybrid model looks very much like the non-hybrid counterpart but it was the hood that was modified. It was changed to become a lighter vehicle in order to be able to run efficiently on the electric power. Summing it all up, the Civic became popular but not as popular as the Toyota Prius which up to now is a favorite. <br /><br /> Nissan's Attempt to Join the Hybrid World <br /><br /> Nissan bought the hybrid technology of Toyota and they were able to produce the Nissan Altima Hybrid. This model gained a lot of good reviews. It is not very surprising when you take into account the popularity of Toyota Prius. But still, the Altima Hybrid is yet to make a name. <br /><br /> Ford's Hybrid Lines <br /><br /> Being one of the biggest names in the car-making world, Ford Motors will not be left behind in the hybrid trend. Ford offered the Ford Escape hybrid to the market. It is another fully hybrid vehicle that was to make a name in the hybrid market. Another model that Ford Motors introduced was the Mercury Mariner Hybrid although it did not became as popular as the Ford Escape Hybrid.<br /><br /><br /><br /> GM in the Hybrid Picture <br /><br /> Another model of hybrid vehicles is the Dodge Ram Hybrid. This model did not become very popular. DaimlerChrysler, the mother company of Dodge tied up with General Motors to produce good models of hybrid vehicles. They joined their group and produced models, some of which are the Dodge Durango Hybrid, Chevy Silverado and GM Sierra Pickups. <br /><br /> There are indeed many varieties of hybrid car models in the market. If hybrids are only a passing solution to the energy problem of the future, it is indeed a good solution. With the very low emission and high fuel efficiency that it provides, it can work well until another better solution comes along. <bio>Ernest Jarquio is a successful Webmaster and publisher of <a href="http://www.green-hybrid-cars.com/" >http://www.green-hybrid-cars.com/</a>. <content:encoded><![CDATA[The <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/ford+motor+company" rel="tag">Ford Motor Company</a> has been manufacturing cars since the early 1900s after its founder, Henry Ford, incorporated the company on June 16, 1903. Ford is the fourth largest vehicle maker in the world based on worldwide sales. They trail Toyota, General Motors and Volkswagon. The company is located in Dearborn, Michigan just outside of Detroit. Aside from their brands of Ford, Lincoln and Mercury, Ford also has international models in Sweden called Volvo and Mazda of Japan. They were once a part owner of Aston Martin in England. They sold their part ownerships of Jaguar and Land Rover to TaTa in India in March of 2008.<br><br>Ford is the third largest manufacturer in the United States in terms of sales behind GM and Toyota. It was the first time in 56 consecutive years that Ford had fallen from the number two largest manufacturer in the country. Henry Ford revolutionized the manufacturing world with his large-scale assembly line designs and how he treated his industrial workforce. His model for success became known globally as Fordism. The company has stayed within the Ford family for over 100 years. <br><br>Over the past few years the Ford Motor Company has struggled to make a profit and needed a new plan to revitalize the company. Company chairman Bill Ford requested a plan from Mark Fields, the president of the American Division. The plan was released to the public in 2006 and it was titled "The Way Forward." This plan did consist of major layoffs across the company and it resulted in the consolidation of production lines, the closing of 14 factories and cutting 30,000 jobs. <br><br>Ford has been one of the many motor vehicle manufacturing companies that has moved into producing hybrid cars and fuel flexible cars. Their fuel flexible cars are the Ford F-150, the Crown Victoria, the Focus, the Taurus, the Ranger, the Explorer, the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/mercury+grand+marquis" rel="tag">Mercury Grand Marquis</a>, and the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/lincoln+town+car" rel="tag">Lincoln Town Car</a>. In 2004 the company released its <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/ford+escape+hybrid" rel="tag">Ford Escape Hybrid</a>. In 2006 the company released its Mercury Mariner Hybrid, in 2008 the company released its Ford Fusion/Mercury Milan Hybrid and in 2009 it released the 2009 Ford Edge/Lincoln MKX Hybrid.<br><br>Ford, aside from manufacturing vehicles for everyday use, is also a major player in three of NASCAR's races. They manufacture cars for the Sprint Cup Series, the Nationwide Series and the Craftsman Truck Series. Their Ford F-150 is used in the Craftsman Truck Series and the mid-size Fusion is used in the Sprint Cup Series and the Nationwide Series. <br><br>One of the most popular and recognizable Ford cars is their ultimate sports car; the Ford Mustang. The Mustang was first manufactured in 1964 and released that same year at the New York World's Fair. The vehicle is modeled after the Ford Falcon, one of the company's compact cars. There are five generations of the Mustang, the fifth one beginning in 2005 and continuing into the present. <content:encoded><![CDATA[Buying a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+car" rel="tag">hybrid car</a> gives the phrase "go green" a whole new meaning. Not only is it good for the environment, it's also good for your pocket book. Check out the tax benefits of <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+vehicles" rel="tag">hybrid vehicles</a> for yourself. <br /><br /> The government has decided that encouraging drivers to do their part to protect the environment could be better enhanced by offering tax incentives. So 2006 sees a variety of incentives from tax credits to tax deductions. <br /><br /> But before you get too excited, be sure you understand all the regulations. It is a bit complex and not all vehicles that call themselves hybrids actually qualify for the hybrid tax relief programs. <br /><br /> The full on hybrid vehicle uses both a gas engine and an electric engine. The <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/toyota+prius" rel="tag">Toyota Prius</a> is an example of a full on hybrid. However some of the other models that call themselves hybrids aren't classified as such by the government. That's because some vehicles that do no more than shut the engine off at idle wear the hybrid designation. <br /><br /> The full tax credit is applicable to only the first 60,000 cars sold by the car maker. After that, the amount of the credit goes down. So if you want to be able to take the full tax credit you need to be buy early. Be aware that leasing doesn't qualify for a tax credit. <br /><br /> The new tax incentive programs are much more valuable than the old programs that were in place. For the exact amount and rules you need to contact the IRC, but ACEEE has provided the following estimates to give you an idea of the tax benefits you might reap. <br /><br /> The Toyota Prius should qualify for the full $3400 tax credit, and it's the only hybrid to earn this honor. A $2600 credit goes to the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/ford+escape" rel="tag">Ford Escape</a> 2WD, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/honda+insight" rel="tag">Honda Insight</a>, and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/toyota+highlander" rel="tag">Toyota Highlander</a> 2WD. A $2200 credit is available for the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/lexus+rx400h" rel="tag">Lexus RX400H</a>, Honda Civic Auto Transmission, and Toyota Highlander 4WD. A $1950 credit goes to the Ford Escape 4WD and Honda Civic Manual Transmission. The Lexus GS450H, Nissan Altima, and Toyota Camry all have a $1300 tax credit. The Honda Accord, GMC Sierra, and Chevy Silverado all get under $1000. <br /><br /> Remember, these are estimates. The actual numbers will have to be obtained from the IRS or you'll need to wait until they release them. <br /><br /> The basics for being able to take the credit are as follows: you must purchase the vehicle new on or after Jan 1, 2006, and it cannot be for re-sale. That's pretty simple but there are some other areas that aren't so clear so be sure you get the details on "all" the rules. <br /><br /> The tax benefits of hybrid vehicles are definitely improving. Have your accountant or bookkeeper find out what your personal options are and take advantage of any tax breaks you can! <bio>Gray Rollins is a featured writer for NewHybridAutos. <content:encoded><![CDATA[Ford has always been an American automotive leader. They continue to do so by being among the first to launch a series of environmentally friendly green vehicles. They were the first manufacturer to put the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/flexible+fuel+vehicle" rel="tag">flexible fuel vehicle</a> in their line up and they are also leading the way with their hybrids. Green vehicle consumers are finding that Ford's <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+cars" rel="tag">hybrid cars</a> and SUVs are far better than first assumed.<br><br>Ford has put a lot of hard work into the hybrids they are launching this season. The ugly hybrid that was first presented to the world is long gone. From an adequate little family car to a sporty SUV, the hybrid now wears many faces. The interior has been completely redesigned to allow for more room and movement. The <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/suv+models" rel="tag">SUV models</a> have an all new console space that provides enough room for a laptop. The console can also be removed and hung in the back for storage.<br><br>The determined team at Ford wanted to make as many improvements as possible for their latest hybrids. They have made necessary changes to the roof of their hybrid vehicles to allow for better air flow. It is an improvement that may seem small but can make a great difference overall.<br><br>Many of the first <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+models" rel="tag">hybrid models</a> were lacking in power and performance. Ford has gone to great lengths to eliminate that type of hassle. All new hybrid models from Ford have an increased amount of horsepower so that they are no less powerful than other cars or SUVs on the road.<br><br>Most of the first hybrids ever produced were very <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/small+cars" rel="tag">small cars</a>. It took time and dedication to make the changes that consumers were demanding in a hybrid. There is now much more storage space as well as interior space for those that do not enjoy a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/tiny+car" rel="tag">tiny car</a>. The extra space is more than substantial, eliminating all need for complaints.<br><br>The average mileage that one can receive in one of Ford's hybrids is 36 miles per gallon. This is about the same as many vehicles the same size that are not hybrids. That makes it an especially strong competitor among gas only vehicles. Mileage tends to be one of the first questions asked about an automobile by potential purchasers.<br><br>The newer hybrids of today do not need to be plugged in for the battery to stay charged. It is constantly being recharged as you drive. This is probably the best advancement for hybrids. Early models often had to be plugged in at home. That need is now eliminated which makes it as convenient as any other car.<br><br>Perhaps it goes without saying but the Ford hybrid gives off far less harmful, toxic emissions than a non-hybrid vehicle. Since it does not rely on gasoline alone, it makes an environmental impact immediately. Many other automotive companies do offer hybrids as well. To find the one that is best suited for you, it's best to shop around and ask all of the right questions.<bio>Find the best deal on the auto insurance coverage you need. <content:encoded><![CDATA[This article tells you how to pick a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+car" rel="tag">hybrid car</a>. If you're looking for a green vehicle that is great on gasoline, with wonderful MPG, then you should consider a hybrid car.<br><br>As more people are becoming considerate of the environment, the idea of driving a vehicle less dependent on gas is becoming more popular. With this idea though, people are wondering how to pick a hybrid car, because they are interested in making the right choice for their vehicle needs as far as the environment go, but also for their lifestyles and wallets.<br><br>To choose a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+vehicle" rel="tag">hybrid vehicle</a> you should first choose the type of vehicle you need. Take into consideration how many people will be in your vehicle regularly as well as any kind of moving of heavy objects you do regularly. This is a first step when choosing any vehicle, but, while <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/taking+this+into+consideration" rel="tag">taking this into consideration</a>, think about how each class of vehicle will also affect your <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/gas+mileage" rel="tag">gas mileage</a>.<br><br>You see, each class of hybrid usually has higher mileage per gallon, but is still something you want to consider, if you are trying to decide between a sedan type and an SUV. The difference in the gas mileage can be as high as 30mpg. For instance if you want the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/toyota+<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/prius" rel="tag">prius</a>" rel="tag">Toyota Prius</a>, for city driving you can expect up to 60 mpg, and for highway driving up to 50mpg. However if you decide to instead go for the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/ford+escape" rel="tag">Ford Escape</a> the mileage is 36/31. That is a huge difference for two vehicles that carry the same amount of passengers.<br><br>The cost of a hybrid is something else you might want to consider when thinking about how to choose a hybrid vehicle. For instance most gas only vehicles cost up to $5,000 less than a hybrid. You will be able to compare the two vehicles you like with their prices when you check for quotes, and in some cases you might be surprised to find that the difference can be as low as $3000.<br><br>If you are paying monthly for your vehicle you might want to sit down with calculator and find out if the extra payment of up to $90 a month (using the average $18/$1000 loan) is worth it. For instance the Prius is going to get you almost double the mileage you might have with a regular sedan, so you would spend half as much on gas every month. In the long run with the help each vehicle brings for the environment this could, very well, be worth the cost.<br><br>In the end no one can tell you exactly how to pick a hybrid car, but if you take these things into consideration you are going to be much happier with your decision to go hybrid, and the vehicle you choose.<br><br>Let's face it...<br><br>If you really want to know how to pick a hybrid car then you have to understand your goals. How much money can you spend? What is the hybrid vehicle going to be used for? Are you worried about hybrid car batteries, hybrid maintenance, and hybrid car risks? If you are, then you might want to wait another 3-4 years until you feel confident in the technology. That trust in hybrids is critical to your well-being and peace of mind.<bio>If you're doing research on hybrid cars, hybrid trucks, or hybrid vans, then you need to head over to <a href="http://HybridCarsTrucksVans.com/">http://HybridCarsTrucksVans.com/</a> I discuss many related topics such as hybrid minivans, hybrid SUVs, and even hybrid motorcycles. <content:encoded><![CDATA[Hybrid vehicles have exploded in the Western market today. The rising cost of gasoline has made it a necessity. The environmental issue has also paved the way for the popularity of the hybrid vehicles. Governments are also doing their part to encourage the use of hybrid vehicles. Driving a hybrid automobile can mean tax benefits in the form of tax incentives and tax credits.<br><br>The Japanese have been the leaders in the hybrid vehicle race and have already been producing some of the world's most fuel-efficient cars at very affordable rates. American car manufacturers decided to join the race releasing their own lines of hybrid cars. <br><br>Hybrid vehicles use an electric battery that powers it and is accompanied by a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/combustion+engine" rel="tag">combustion engine</a>. Depending on the type of engine used and the automobile model, the electric engine and combustion engine model can either work independently and dependently of each other. Here are the popular hybrid engines in the market today:<br><br>•	Toyota Civic Hybrid<br><br>Introduced in 2005, the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/honda+civic+hybrid" rel="tag">Honda Civic Hybrid</a> has increased fuel economy and has to date, the cleanest emissions on the planet today. It increased fuel efficiency to more than five percent. The 2006 Toyota Civic Hybrid is comparably better than the 2005 hybrid model increasing power and torque by twenty percent making it fuel efficient, fast and affordable. The car gives a smooth ride to the driver with little effort when stepping on the gas pedal.<br><br>The new <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/2008+honda+civic" rel="tag">2008 Honda Civic</a> hybrid is a little shy in MPG or miles per gallon on the highway compared to the 50 miles per gallon of the 2006 Civic hybrid. However, fuel consumption has been drastically improved on the 2008 version. <br><br>•	<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/ford+escape+hybrid" rel="tag">Ford Escape Hybrid</a> 4WD<br><br>The American manufacturer of sensible pick-ups has launched its own line of hybrid vehicles, specifically in the SUV department. The Escape hybrid takes its cue from the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/toyota+prius" rel="tag">Toyota Prius</a>. The system runs on the Atkinson cycle having greater expansion ration by taking in less air-fuel mixture. The results is a more efficient and economic car in terms of fuel consumption.<br><br>The disadvantage of the Ford Escape however is its relatively decreased torque and power. The Atkinson system is the reason for the reduced power since the car inhales more air than fuel. The Escape hybrid has a maximum of 133 horse power from the original 153. The difference, aside from the decreased horse power, is negligible and is rated at 29 miles to the gallon on a 400-mile highway.<br><br>•	General Motors Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid<br><br>SUVs are considered to be the most fuel thirsty vehicles in the market today. General Motors, makers of the country's most popular SUVs have decided to shift their focus towards a greener car that still delivers the power, size and style that makes them very popular with people from all walks of life.<br><br>The 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe hybrid was named Green Car of the Year because of its drastically improved fuel efficiency in the V8 engine division. The Tahoe hybrid boasts of 21 miles to the gallon efficiency and is higher than that of the Toyota Camry sedan which also sports a v8 engine. Power and torque are not compromised and the fact that this is large-sized vehicle, its high fuel efficiency makes it a good choice without sacrificing its big size advantage.<bio>If you are learning to drive you can practice your <a href="http://theorytest.co.uk/">theory test</a> at theorytest.co.uk. <content:encoded><![CDATA[With the gas prices being so high, more and more people are becoming aware of how valuable energy is in our daily lives. <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+cars" rel="tag"><a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+car" rel="tag">Hybrid car</a>s</a> show how energy can be conserved and pollution reduced. The cleanest non hybrid car can put about 90 percent smog pollution in the air versus the hybrid. <br /><br /> The <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/honda+insight" rel="tag">Honda insight</a> was the first hybrid on the US market in 1999. It is electrically powered and can go 61 mpg on city roads and 70mpg on the highway. Then in 2000, Toyota brought the Prius to the market, it goes 52 mpg in the city and around 45 mpg on the highway. The <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/honda+civic+hybrid" rel="tag">Honda Civic hybrid</a> came out in 2002 with 46mpg on city roads and about 51mpg on the highway. Since then there have been other <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+models" rel="tag">hybrid models</a> such as, the Chevy Silverado, the Dodge Ram pickup and the Ford Escape SUV. <br /><br /> Hybrids are more efficient for a number of reasons. For one, the battery of a hybrid lasts longer. It is equipped with two energy supplies- the gas and electricity. The car is made of lighter materials, that means less energy is used. The engine in a non-hybrid is heavier so it requires more power to accelerate and to go up an incline. And with a hybrid there are fewer cylinders. <br /><br /> Hybrids have less internal machinery. The energy and time needed to move a cylinder up and down in a non hybrid is greater. To start the car, the non <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+engine" rel="tag">hybrid engine</a> needs more power because it has more cylinders. In addition, each cylinder uses more fuel for cylindrical displacement. <br /><br /> There are some tips to keep in mind when driving a hybrid to maximize energy and mileage productivity. <br /><br /> Drive slowly-<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/aerodynamic+drag" rel="tag">Aerodynamic drag</a> increases if you drive fast. If you slow down you will save energy. <br /><br /> Drive at a constant speed- Increasing your spend and then slowing down wastes fuel. <br /><br /> Try not to break suddenly-The motor in a hybrid is like a generator. Energy is lost if you stop abruptly. Try to give you car some recovery time. <bio>Jackson Porter is a staff writer at <a href="http://www.environmental-central.com" >http://www.environmental-central.com</a> and is an occasional contributor to several other websites, including <a href="http://www.automobileenthusiast.com" >http://www.automobileenthusiast.com</a>. </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[As gas prices continue to rise to unprecedented heights with future increases on the horizon (projected prices for the summer of 2006 are as much as $1.50 per liter, or $6 per gallon) more and more people are considering purchasing a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+vehicle" rel="tag">hybrid vehicle</a>. It is important to understand what a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+car" rel="tag">hybrid car</a> is, what types are available, and the benefits of purchasing a hybrid vehicle. <br /><br /> A hybrid car is a vehicle that uses a combination of at least two different fuel sources for its propulsion. Although many combinations are possible, generally when people are talking about <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+cars" rel="tag">hybrid cars</a>, they are referring to cars with a combination of a gasoline internal combustion engine, an electric motor, and a battery that powers the electric motor and stores energy for future use. Hybrid cars may also be called gas-electric hybrids. <br /><br /> Some examples of current hybrid cars include the Toyota Prius, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/honda+civic+hybrid" rel="tag">Honda Civic Hybrid</a> (HCH), the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/ford+escape+hybrid" rel="tag">Ford Escape Hybrid</a>, the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/honda+accord+hybrid" rel="tag">Honda Accord Hybrid</a>, and the Honda Insight. <br /><br /> Due to their special use of technology, hybrid cars receive much higher gas mileage than the average U.S. vehicle. In fact, hybrid cars hold the top spots for fuel economy in their respective categories: two-seaters, compact cars and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/mid+size+cars" rel="tag">mid size cars</a>. The clean burning hybrids also receive a one-time deduction for tax purposes in the year of their purchase, as part of the Federal Government's clean air initiative. Hybrids will save you money in gas, but this should be set against what they may cost you in other areas. Hybrid cars are as much as $2,000 to $5,000 more than the standard version of the same vehicle. They also contain parts that might be more costly to repair or replace due to specialized mechanics. The more complex powertrain of the hybrid car also means that you will require a more specialized mechanic when it comes time for repairs. <br /><br /> Hybrid cars also typically have less power that the non-hybrid version. The emphasis has not been put on speed, and the acceleration capabilities are often not up to par with comparable vehicles. <br /><br /> It is important to remember that hybrid cars are a new technology. As with most technologies, they will inevitably improve over time, so it might be best to hold off on purchasing that new hybrid for a little while, until their engineering catches up to their economy. <bio>copyright©2006 hybridcarzone.com Visit for more <a href="<a href="<a href="http://www.hybridcarzone.com">http://www.hybridcarzone.com</a>"><a href="http://www.hybridcarzone.com">http://www.hybridcarzone.com</a></a>/articles"><a href="<a href="http://www.hybridcarzone.com">http://www.hybridcarzone.com</a>"><a href="http://www.hybridcarzone.com">http://www.hybridcarzone.com</a></a>/articles</a> articles. <content:encoded><![CDATA[ Hybrid vehicles are growing in popularity with consumers because they want the best value for their money. In regard to hybrid vehicles, they can offer that with fuel costs. You may pay more for the vehicle itself, but the good <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/gas+mileage" rel="tag">gas mileage</a> factor is an attractive feature. There are some things, however, to consider before you purchase one: <br /><br /> When you're looking to purchase a hybrid vehicle, one thing to look at is the size. Hybrid vehicles use to be very small, but auto manufacturers have expanded their size selection with hybrid vehicles. When you're looking at the size of the vehicle, keep in mind how many people you may be transporting and if you'll have a lot of miscellaneous loads, such as groceries, gifts, etc. <br /><br /> There are some hybrids that only seat two. This is ideal for a single person who doesn't have any obligations, as far as children are concerned. There is room to put some things in the trunk. There are <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/compact+sedans" rel="tag">compact sedans</a> that seat five; the downside to this is the trunks are smaller due to the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/battery+storage" rel="tag">battery storage</a>. There are also SUV hybrids that are two and four wheel drives. The Ford Escape and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/saturn+vue" rel="tag">Saturn VUE</a> fit in this category. There is an SUV hybrid that seats seven people. So far, Toyota is the only car manufacturer that has it (<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/highlander+hybrid" rel="tag">Highlander Hybrid</a>). <br /><br /> The lowest starting price for hybrid vehicles can be approximately $19,000. On the high end, the highest price for a hybrid vehicle can be close to $55,000 - $60,000. Because of the specialty functions of the hybrid, they will cost more than a regular vehicle. You'll have to figure in at least <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/several+thousand+dollars" rel="tag">several thousand dollars</a> more. These figures listed represent base <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/model+prices" rel="tag">model prices</a>. Like with a regular vehicle, if you want additional features, you have to add that to the base cost. <br /><br /> The gas mileage is one of the main reasons why people are now switching to hybrid vehicles. With hybrid vehicles, the EPA estimates are usually higher than the regular vehicles. Hybrid vehicles that have manual transmission offer slightly more mileage than those with automatic transmission. At lower speed levels, hybrid vehicles such as the Toyota Prius can operate with just the battery. <br /><br /> Appearance should be an important factor on what type of hybrid vehicle to purchase. Some of the vehicles look similar, but if you want to stand out, you'll want to purchase one that looks different from the rest. There are some hybrid vehicles that look like they come from another planet. Some people like them, some people don't. There are some hybrid vehicles that look like regular vehicles. The distinction is the symbol or marking on the vehicle. <br /><br /> The real test will be when you take it on a sample ride. You'll get to drive it for a few minutes to see how it feels. In addition to the above facts, it may be advantageous for you to consider at least looking at one of these. These hybrid vehicles won't let you down, especially if you're looking for quality and cost. <bio>Find the best deal on the auto insurance coverage you need. <content:encoded><![CDATA[If you're an 'in market' hybrid car shopper or in the midst of researching a new purchase of an energy efficient car, there are plenty of things to keep in mind.<br><br>First, you will want to examine the specific hybrid's estimated gas mileage -- and be sure to ask when the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/gasoline+engine" rel="tag">gasoline engine</a> kicks in, too. You may find that if you drive a lot of highway miles at faster speeds and the gas engine kicks in at 35 mph, you may not save as much money on fuel as you expected.<br><br>You'll also want to consider any tax saving credits that being offered. There is a federal income tax credit (up to $3,400) given on the first 60,000 hybrid models sold. After that benchmark is met, the credit is gradually phased out. Fueleconomy.gov maintains a list of eligible vehicles and the current tax credits available, but you should also confirm with your dealership.<br><br>Also, you may want to think about hybrid car insurance. Some insurance companies offer a discount on hybrid car insurance -- others do not. Hybrid cars are still relatively new to the marketplace, and shopping around for discounts that come with hybrid car insurance will pay off in the long run.<br><br>To be truly eco-friendly, you'll also want to check the green rating for that particular hybrid car. According to the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE), four of the top 12 <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/greenest+vehicles" rel="tag">greenest vehicles</a> of 2008, feature hybrid <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/powertrain+engines" rel="tag">powertrain engines</a>. However, there is a bigger environmental impact to consider. Some of the hybrids feature <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/nickel+batteries" rel="tag">nickel batteries</a>, which cause more long-term environmental damage than their gasoline counterparts. If you are interested in a hybrid car, be an informed consumer and check the air pollution scores, greenhouse gas scores, and other features that impact the environment.<br><br>Be aware that as a result of the growing popularity of hybrid cars, especially the Prius, you may pay over-sticker price because of the demand. You may also have a hard time locating the exact model you want, or be placed on a waiting list.<br><br>The best-selling hybrid cars of 2008 include:<br><br>Toyota Prius<br><br>With a $21,500 base sticker price, the Toyota Prius isn't exactly cheap. However, it's still a reasonably affordable hybrid car option for many consumers, especially after factoring in the fuel savings achieved due to the Prius' 45 city/48 hwy mpg rating by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It is classified as the most fuel efficient car in the U.S.<br><br>Currently the best-selling hybrid car, the Toyota Prius has been embraced by Hollywood -- it's a favorite among celebrities like Cameron Diaz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Aniston, Larry David, Julia Robers, Jennifer Lopez, Gwyneth Paltrow and Harrison Ford.<br><br>Many Prius owners claim to achieve over 60 mpg, and those employing hypermiling techniques may fare even better. For consumers averaging much less, the Prius sounds like a gift from heaven. However, the Toyota Prius may take some getting used to.<br><br>Overall, getting into a Toyota Prius seems more like entering a spaceship than an automobile. However, once you get beyond its odd shape, you'll find alarge on-dash computer screen offering instant feedback on your gas mileage, as well as a rearview camera (you'll need it in this vehicle due to blind spots). And you may miss other options, like a sunroof, which reduces fuel economy, too.<br><br>Honda Civic Hybrid<br><br>The Honda Civic Hybrid car has an EPA-estimated city/highway rating of 40 city/45 hwy mpg and a base sticker price of $22,600, comparable to that of the Toyota Prius. The Honda Civic hybrid features an Advanced Technology Partial-Zero-Emission Vehicle (AT-PZEV) rating, which is the most stringent emission standard achieved by a gasoline-powered vehicle in the U.S. In fact, it is classified as one of the most fuel efficient cars in America, along with the Toyota Prius.<br><br>In terms of looks, it's hard to tell the standard Honda Civic from its hybrid counterpart. They are nearly identical.<br><br>Toyota Camry Hybrid<br><br>The Toyota Camry Hybrid car has a base sticker price of $25,650 and is a good option for those looking for a little more luxury and fuel efficiency. It looks like the standard Toyota Camry on the road, but offers a quieter ride due to the special acoustic-dampening windshield made to absorb road noise.<br><br>The Toyota Camry hybrid car has an EPA-estimated city/highway rating of 33 city/34 hwy mpg rating, which not as good as either the Prius or Civic Hybrid cars. However, as a mid-size sedan, it offers room for the entire family.<br><br>Ford Escape Hybrid SUV<br><br>Known as the most fuel efficient SUV on earth, the Ford Escape Hybrid SUV has an EPA-estimated city/highway rating of 34 city/30 hwy mpg rating and base sticker price of $26,640. It's available in both 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive, and features a tough, rugged look, although technically it's still considered a cross-over vehicle.<br><br>According to U.S. News and World Report, the Ford Escape hybrid is ranked 15 out of 27 in terms of affordable compact SUVs, a few spots below the gasoline version. The new 2008 model was redesigned to provide a more comfortable rise and mature appearance.<br><br>Overall, the Ford Escape hybrid has received good, thumbs-up reviews in publications ranging from the New York Times to Newsday.<br><br>Hybrid Insurance<br><br>You'll find plenty of information online at FuelEconomy.gov, from a specific vehicle's energy impact score, carbon footprint statistics and EPA air pollution score to its eligibility for a tax credit. Other helpful green vehicle information is available at the EPA Web site.<bio>And once you've chosen your vehicle, you can find the <a href="http://www.nationwide.com/car-insurance-policy.jsp">best auto insurance</a>, as well plenty of <a href="http://www.nationwide.com/driving-safety-tips.jsp">driving safety tips</a>, at Nationwide.com.</bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Hybrid cars or the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+electric+vehicles" rel="tag">hybrid electric vehicles</a> (HEV) are the best solution for the growing fuel shortage problems that we have these days. Most car makers today have resorted to the design and production of hybrid cars in answer to the growing fuel crisis. And because of the ingenuity of the inventions, they are rapidly gaining popularity in the market. Terms such as "Saturn hybrid" and "<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/toyota+hybrid+cars" rel="tag">Toyota hybrid cars</a>" are now becoming <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/ingrained" rel="tag">ingrained</a> in the lingo of auto enthusiasts. <br /><br /> The Government Supports Hybrid Use <br /><br /> The government for a number of good reasons is supporting hybrid cars. These cars are environmentally-friendly because they emit lesser pollutants. It has been noted that some hybrid cars lower pollution rates by up to 90% as compared to <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/conventional+cars" rel="tag">conventional cars</a>. <br /><br /> Another good reason is that they are a wise solution to the growing fuel shortage. They economize fuel consumption, making them double efficient for what they usually provide. This is because most of the kinetic power that was wasted in the traditional fully <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/internal+combustion+engine" rel="tag">internal combustion engine</a> is now being converted into useful energy. <br /><br /> Because of these good features, the government offers tax incentives for buying hybrid cars. <br /><br /> Efficient, Low Maintenance and Fuel-Efficient <br /><br /> Hybrid cars need not to be plugged into an electrical outlet when charging the electric motor. They make use of a process called <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/regenerative+braking" rel="tag">regenerative braking</a>. While the vehicle is running with the use of the internal combustion engine, the electric motor is being charged. In driving situations where <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/internal+combustion+engines" rel="tag">internal combustion engines</a> are less efficient (as in slow city driving), the electric motor will take over with minimal intervention from the driver. <br /><br /> Initially, purchasing a hybrid is not easy on the pocket because hybrid car prices are higher than ordinary car prices. But in the long run, they prove to be more economical and they offer more benefits than the traditional cars. <br /><br /> In addition, hybrid cars have lower depreciation rates than traditional cars. Also, unlike traditional cars that run on internal combustion engine, they require lesser maintenance thus greatly reducing cost and trouble of having to owning a vehicle. <br /><br /> Hybrid Models and Car Makers <br /><br /> Aside from sedans, there are also available models of hybrid pickup trucks and hybrid minivans. Not only this, hybrid power technology in the area of public transportation is gaining rapid popularity and it is expected to be available soon in many areas of the transport industry. <br /><br /> Car makers have been competing to offer the market the best of hybrid cars. There are many beautiful models to choose from. The buyer may find it hard to make a decision given the stylish designs, performance and price of the various models. Consumers have a wide selection from low-end to high-end cars; they offer benefits that are worth their price. <br /><br /> Toyota Hybrid Cars <br /><br /> There is a long line of Toyota hybrid cars but car reviews have shown that the Toyota Prius is the undisputed favorite. This hybrid car from Toyota is a real looker. In addition, it has the most efficient miles-per-gallon report. <br /><br /> Honda Hybrid Cars <br /><br /> Honda hybrid cars also compete strongly in design and efficiency. The Honda Civic hybrid is the closest in comparison to the most priced Toyota Prius. <br /><br /> Ford Hybrid Cars <br /><br /> Ford hybrid cars offer their well-regarded Escape model. It has a very sleek design and competitive miles-per-gallon efficiency. The interior of the car employs modern designs. It is very efficient to use. In addition to the existing line of Ford hybrid cars, they are about to launch the model that will compete with Toyota's Prius model. <br /><br /> Saturn Hybrid Cars <br /><br /> "Go green without going broke" is the slogan being touted by the Saturn hybrids. In support of this slogan, they offer good hybrids at lower cost. Their use of "mild hybrid" technology means that they can offer some of the benefits of hybrids without having to increase their selling price all that much. <br /><br /> Convertible Hybrids <br /><br /> While hybrid cars have been widely popular for quite a long time now, hybrid convertibles are on their baby stage as yet. There are not that many models to choose from in the market. Many car enthusiasts have been waiting for the arrival of this type of vehicle on the scene. There is a model launched in the market by Saab. <br /><br /> Whatever model a consumer may choose, green-technology cars such as the Saturn hybrid are better in many ways than the traditional gasoline-guzzling cars. In times when fuel shortage and pollution of the environment are recognized as two of the foremost public issues, the use of this new technology promises to bring a positive contribution. <bio>Ernest Jarquio is a successful Webmaster and publisher of <a href="http://www.green-hybrid-cars.com/" >http://www.green-hybrid-cars.com/</a>. <content:encoded><![CDATA[One thing the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+cars" rel="tag"><a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+car" rel="tag">hybrid car</a>s</a> promise users is the most, is their ability to save gas by consuming less, as well as reduction in atmospheric pollution. For that reason more people prefer to own <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+vehicles" rel="tag">hybrid vehicles</a> these days. Hybrid cars run on both fuel and engines that are powered by battery. This means that, they consume less oil and emit less gas when compared to <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/gasoline" rel="tag">gasoline</a> powered vehicles. Hybrid car, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/no+doubt" rel="tag">no doubt</a> is a possible solution to the sporadic hike in fuel price in the oil market. <br /><br /> Because of the benefits or advantages accrued from using or owning hybrid cars, the US government had welcomed and supported the manufacturing of this model of car. It has also allowed importation as well as encouraging automobile company in the country like Ford and General Motors to manufacture hybrid cars. <br /><br /> Some of the advantages derived from hybrid cars include the following: <br /><br /> (a) Savings on low gas usage: <br /><br /> Hybrid car <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/combines" rel="tag">combines</a> both electric power and gasoline powered engine. Hence each function all by itself, and combines together depending on which is weaker or stronger when running. The regenerative braking feature enables the engine to compliment each other <br /><br /> (b) Consistent performance: <br /><br /> Unlike the traditional gas powered engine, hybrid cars do not require transmissions to make their engines work at full capacity even at reduced speeds. Hybrid cars function normal and on a consistent basis at any motor speed. <br /><br /> (c) Environmentally friendly: <br /><br /> Hybrid cars, because of their combination of electric powered and gasoline -- powered engines, emit significantly less gas into the environment. The effect of this in the long-run will be a clean population free environment around the globe. <br /><br /> (d) Convenience: <br /><br /> Less amount is expended on gasoline for hybrid cars. This is because of the battery powered engine used by hybrid cars. This is in perfect contrast to owners of the convention <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/gas+powered+cars" rel="tag">gas powered cars</a> who cannot help but feel the scourge of the soaring fuel pump price. Also, most hybrid cars are easy to maneuver on the road because of its light weight. The designs are also something to behold and they come in style. <br /><br /> Some are of the opinion that buying or owning a hybrid car is not ideal for now because of its expensive nature. Notwithstanding its cost, the advantages to be derived from owning this type of vehicle in the long run is worth it. It will be better if more people demand for hybrid cars because this will induce the manufacturers to manufacture more and the price will eventually fall in no time at all. <bio>For an honest review and guide to hybrid car information, you have got to visit <a href="http://www.hybrid-car-site.com" >http://www.hybrid-car-site.com</a> </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Retail <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+car" rel="tag">hybrid car</a> prices as suggested by manufacturers (better known as MSRP) are decided by the car makers and advised to the car dealers to be the base price guide in dealing with public sale. Dealers providing fleet sales to corporate buyers have also the invoice price, or that amount paid by the dealers to the automakers, better used for wholesale purchases being made from the dealers. <br /><br /> While these two serve as guides for the car buyer, prices may increase due to additional costs for non-standard features or add-ons to the vehicles. There are also charges for delivery to move the vehicles to the final destination where buyer is situated. Thereafter, sales taxes, marketing costs, registration costs and other costs may be added by the dealership over and above the MSRP or invoice price. <br /><br /> Price Ranges <br /><br /> As of this writing, at the bottom rung is the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/toyota+prius" rel="tag">Toyota Prius</a>, most reasonably priced at suggested retail of $22,175, exclusive of tax incentives that come along with purchases of hybrid, environmentally-friendly units. At the high end of the spectrum will be the 2007 Honda Accord Hybrid 4-wheel drive four-door sedan, at around $31,000. Both these prices do not include delivery or destination pricing. <br /><br /> The Array of Hybrid Car Prices <br /><br /> In between the Prius and the Accord, the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/camry+hybrid" rel="tag">Camry Hybrid</a> from Toyota is priced at around $26,000. The Saturn Aura Green Line Hybrid starts at $22,695, a highly recommended purchase by many hybrid enthusiasts. The <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/honda+hybrid" rel="tag">Honda Hybrid</a> FWD four door sedan starts at $22,600 exclusive of destination costs. <br /><br /> To give you a gauge on SUVs, the Mercury Mariner 2008 Hybrid four-wheel drive SUV starts at the bottom with $27,515, followed by the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/ford+escape+hybrid" rel="tag">Ford Escape Hybrid</a> 4FD SUV at $27.250. Packed and loaded with all amenities you can ask for, the 2007 <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/toyota+highlander+hybrid" rel="tag">Toyota Highlander Hybrid</a> can be yours for $32,500. <br /><br /> Price Indicators <br /><br /> The brand name comes with the package. With such prestigious car makers as Toyota, Honda, Ford, Saturn, Mercury, Volkswagen, Mercedes, the name comes at a premium. Brand name notwithstanding, the full array of features and accessories not included in standard units also impact on the final price of the hybrid car you are purchasing. <br /><br /> Hybrid car prices are definitely higher than for conventional models. That's because the manufacturer requires more resources to produce the hybrids with their added valuable features - these all add up to the cost. It is envisioned, though, that the fuel savings from hybrids will more than compensate for the usually higher purchase price compared to pure fossil-fuel models. <br /><br /> To give you an idea, take the Honda Accord as an example. While a value-packaged 4-door Accord Sedan can fetch for as low as $19,450, the Hybrid Accord's price is almost twice higher at more than $31,000. While Accord's special edition sedans and coupes range from $23,350 to $23,450, these prices are still a far cry from hybrid's prices. Only the EX-L four-wheel drive 2-door Accord Coupe comes close at $27,500. <br /><br /> The price differences among Civic models are somewhat more manageable and saleable. Take a 4-door sedan Civic EX priced at $19,510 add a hybrid system and you're $22,500 poorer. But the price difference, at least, is not all that much. <br /><br /> Even with Toyota models, the fuel efficiency and environmental-friendliness and zero-emission tags all come at a premium. The Camry Hybrid starts at $25,200 when its conventional sister is priced at only $18,570. Even with the federal tax reductions for hybrid vehicles, the MSRP is still a tad higher. <br /><br /> With the kind of research and development, not to mention the extensive testing done on hybrid or alternative-fuel models, it's not surprising that hybrid car prices are more expensive. And manufacturers do not stop at the hybrid or fuel-efficiency features; they also try and pack the hybrid with the latest in electronics for the interiors, dash and instrumentation and everything. <br /><br /> Standard or optional amenities notwithstanding, environmentalists will always say that hybrid car prices are worth every penny car buyers shed, if only to ensure a better, cleaner, safer world for tomorrow. Amen to that, say the hybrid manufacturers' environmental drum beaters. <bio>Ernest Jarquio is a successful Webmaster and publisher of <a href="http://www.green-hybrid-cars.com/" >http://www.green-hybrid-cars.com/</a>. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/" rel="tag"></a>"A long drive on a snowy weather" can often gives us the feeling of cruising through milky clouds. However this pleasure has lots to do with the strength of the machine you are steering, as roads full of snow pose all sorts of difficulties to drivers. Snow minimizes friction of the track by making it wet and slippery to drive through. Despite strong engine and transmission systems, a firm grip of the vehicle over the track is indispensable. Thus, if you are planning an excursion to any snowy region, then just have a close look at the tires of your vehicle, as your safety primarily depend on those four wheels during the trip. If you find that the tires are not apt to conquer the damping snow, replace it with suitable set of 'snow tires'. Just be inquisitive and attentive while doing the snow tire purchase.<br><br>We often install all-weather tires on to our vehicles, marked with "M+S"- i.e. mud and snow - which are said to be good enough to handle all types of terrains. But when it comes to chilly cold weather and heavy snow down pouring, these tires usually lose its hold on the track. In this situation, specially designed snow tires are essential by all means. Previously designed snow tires were noisy, and were inept for the dry and plain conditions, but modern snow tires are manufactured from special rubber compounds that are appropriate for all weather conditions. However, snow tires are further categorized according to the intensity of the cold weather. So, simply keep following things in your mind if you are going to purchase snow tires for your vehicle:<br><br>• If you are a resident of a highly cold region, where the roads remain covered with, ice and snow, during the entire winter season, then you should go for the RSi tires, as it provides the better results than the other tires of its class. The RSi tires are found to provide least rolling resistance thereby enhances the efficiency of the vehicle to a great extent. However, these are not equally competent on wet or dry tracks.<br><br>• If the conditions are not frosty enough, and snowfall isn't a regular affair in your region, then you can definitely rely on 'studded' tires to cruise along. Studded tires also provide good traction over the wet or dry pavements.<br><br>• For an efficient grip over the track, check out the tread depth of the tire, and make sure that the tread depth is more than 5mm, to clasp heavier ice particles into it.<br><br>• If you own a SUV or any other heavy-duty vehicle, avoid using mix of tires into it, as it would be pretty unsafe for the driver. Always install 4+ deep treaded ice tires on to your SUV.<br><br>So, ensure safety for you and your family while driving through the roads covered with snow, and choose the snow tires matching your requirements. <content:encoded><![CDATA[ Ever since <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+cars" rel="tag">hybrid cars</a> first burst on to the motoring scene, people have wondered how good they really are. Even today, when hybrid cars are better known, it seems a long way off until they are a common sight on our roads, with more hybrid cars being driven than <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/traditional+gasoline" rel="tag">traditional gasoline</a> driven ones. The makers of the upcoming hybrid cars are determined to show off the advantages that modern technology can offer us. Motor companies as well known as Toyota and Ford are competing to produce the best upcoming hybrid cars on the market. <br /><br /> The upcoming hybrid cars promise to be even better than the ones that are already available. Hybrid cars are designed with the environment in mind, and the savvy car companies know that the highest prizes will go to those companies that can design an outstanding car that is easy on the consumer's pocket as well as the world around us. <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/car+manufacturers" rel="tag">Car manufacturers</a> are investing untold amounts of money on the creation of new and upcoming hybrid cars. With the advent of the totally <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/electric+car" rel="tag">electric car</a> still on the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/distant+horizon" rel="tag">distant horizon</a>, motor companies are currently competing to make sure their own hybrid cars produce the lowest amount of emissions possible. <br /><br /> This is the area that is most important in upcoming hybrid cars. <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/co2+emissions" rel="tag">CO2 emissions</a> are extremely damaging to the atmosphere and the world around us. Reducing the level of these emissions is a huge task, but it's a task that car manufacturers are taking on with enthusiasm. This year's upcoming hybrid cars include some offerings from Saab, who boast that their hybrid cars have not only significantly reduced these damaging emissions; on occasion they have eliminated them entirely. <br /><br /> That is a strong statement to make, and it has raised the bar for all other upcoming hybrid cars. Just imagine a world in which every car is a hybrid, and not a single one releases any damaging emissions into the atmosphere at all. Until then, the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/chief+aim" rel="tag">chief aim</a> of all hybrids is to generate significantly less emissions, and to become more accessible to more people worldwide. Make no mistake, these cars are slowly integrating themselves into popular consciousness, and as time goes by they will become more affordable and more easily thought of as a potential new car for the average person. Perhaps it's almost time to wave goodbye to the internal combustion engine altogether. <br /><br /> For information on buying and selling new and second hand cars and bikes visit <a href="http://www.bharathautomobiles.com/index.php" >http://www.bharathautomobiles.com/index.php</a> <bio>James Gunaseelan writes for India's leading automobile portal <a href="http://www.bharathautomobiles.com/index.php" >http://www.bharathautomobiles.com/index.php</a> </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[Vehicles that will help you save money on gas <br /><br /> Prices at the pump are rising steadily; more and more of the vehicles being released get very low gas mileage. This makes it really hard to get around town or to work, on a budget. Well, there still are tons of options for vehicles that can save you tons of money at the pump. <br /><br /> If you're not ready to take the plunge and buy a hybrid or electric vehicle, there are many gas-<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/engine+cars" rel="tag">engine cars</a> that get very good gas mileage. For small cars, the mini cooper (28 city/36 highway) gets you the most miles for your gallon. If you're looking at midsize or large cars, you should check out Hyundai. The Elantra gets 27 city/34 highway, and the Sonata get 24 city/34 highway. If you're looking into station wagons, the Pontiac Vibe and the Toyota Matrix both get 30 city/36 highway. <br /><br /> If you're looking for a car with even better gas mileage, you should check out <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+cars" rel="tag">hybrid cars</a>. The concept of a hybrid is that its engine is actually a combination of two engines: a traditional gas engine, and an electric engine. Unlike true electric cars, the electric engine is charged by the gas engine, so there's no need to plug it in. And while all the power is ultimately derived from the gas engine, these cars, van's, and SUVs still get way batter gas mileage and saving you tons of money at the pump. If you're looking simply for the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/best+gas+mileage" rel="tag">best gas mileage</a> overall, you should check out the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/honda+insight" rel="tag">Honda insight</a>; it gets 60 <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/mpg+city" rel="tag">mpg city</a>, 66 <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/mpg+highway" rel="tag">mpg highway</a>. Plus it's from Honda so you can be confident you're getting a solid long lasting vehicle. If you're looking for an SUV, the vehicle with the best gas mileage is the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/ford+escape+hybrid" rel="tag">Ford Escape hybrid</a>. It gets 31 mpg city, 36 mpg highway. Imagine, getting the gas mileage of a car (or better) from an SUV. <br /><br /> Another option for saving fuel that will be available on the market soon is the plug-in hybrid. You're probably thinking "why would I want to plug in my hybrid when I can just get a regular hybrid?' One dollar to get as far as a gallon of gas, that's why. A plug in hybrid is the same as a regular hybrid except you have the option of charging the electric engine. This means that if you only take short trips, your gas engine will rarely even have to turn on, and electricity gets you as far as a gallon of gas for about $1. And, unlike normal electric cars, you never have to worry about your battery dying so you can go as far as you want on your gas engine. <br /><br /> If you want to just skip the gas altogether, there have been some great advances in electric vehicles. You'll forget everything you know about electric vehicles when you see the Tesla Motors Roadster. It's fully electric, so you can always get a gas mileage equivalent of about $1 per gallon. Unlike traditional electric cars, this one runs on a lithium ion battery, so it can go farther between charges (about 250 miles), it can go a lot faster (top speed of 130 mph), and to be honest, it just looks cooler. If an electric car ever catches on, it will most definitely be this one. <br /><br /> With any type of vehicle, you should keep your car in good shape and making sure it gets regular tune ups, this will help keep up gas efficiency. Also remember that the weight of the vehicle matters. Carrying around stuff you don't need and always having a full tank will raise your gas mileage. <bio>Gray Rollins is a featured writer for <a href="http://www.fuelsavingzone.com" >http://www.fuelsavingzone.com</a>. <content:encoded><![CDATA[Why you should consider a hybrid Vehicle... <br /><br /> <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+vehicles" rel="tag">Hybrid vehicles</a> work by combining a gas powered engine with an electric motor generator that gets power from a battery pack. You do not need to plug in or charge your hybrid, as most vehicles have the ability to charge themselves while you are driving. This onboard system is called RESS (rechargeable energy storage system). <br /><br /> You may already know that hybrid vehicles are a good way to reduce pollution and harmful emissions and are therefore more environmentally friendly. But did you know that a hybrid vehicle can save you up to 250 gallons of gas each year? <br /><br /> There is also a special program implemented by the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/irs" rel="tag">IRS</a> that allows new owners of hybrid vehicles to apply for a tax break. Your local tax preparation office or any dealership that sells hybrid vehicles can tell you more about this special financial benefit. <br /><br /> You can expect to pay a few thousand more for a hybrid vehicle than you would a non-hybrid of the same type. How much the vehicle costs will depend on the year, make and model. For example, the affordable <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/honda+accord+hybrid" rel="tag">Honda Accord hybrid</a> runs around $30,000. On the other end of the spectrum, the luxury RX400h SUV hybrid offered by <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/lexus" rel="tag">Lexus</a> will cost at least $10,000 to $15,000 more. <br /><br /> With rising gas prices and increasing alarm about the condition of our environment, hybrid vehicles are becoming more and more mainstream with each passing day. If you're considering purchasing a hybrid vehicle, research is the first order of business. It's always a good idea to do a little preliminary searching online before ever entering a dealership so you will know more about the vehicles you are interested in as well as how much you can expect to pay for them. You may initially be paying more for a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+car" rel="tag">hybrid car</a>, but when you consider the overall benefits, purchasing a hybrid vehicle may prove to be a wise investment. <bio>Lyn Davis is a freelance writer who specializes in consumer information. visit <a href="http://www.hybridmod.com" >http://www.hybridmod.com</a> for more information on hybrid cars </bio>]]></content:encoded>

Of all the purchases we make, the purchase that will have the greatest impact on the environment will be the car we decide to buy. <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+cars" rel="tag"><a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+car" rel="tag">Hybrid car</a>s</a> are an affordable and innovative way to help protect our environment and benefit from the increased fuel mileage. <br /><br /> Only a few years ago talk of hybrid cars had consumers stepping back unsure; but today hybrids offer a practical choice for consumers, and more and more consumers are jumping on board. <br /><br /> A hybrid car has a small engine that is fuel efficient, which is combined with an electric motor that aids the engine when additional power is needed during acceleration. The electric motor gets its power from battery banks which continuously charge while you are driving. <br /><br /> Energy is conserved when you stop because the engine is shut off automatically. Then, when you apply gas, it automatically restarts. <br /><br /> The hybrid car also uses a more advanced aerodynamic lightweight body, and combines it with low roll resistant tires that are stiffer and narrower to help reduce drag. <br /><br /> In 2004, out of the 17 million vehicles sold there were around 80,000 <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+vehicles" rel="tag">hybrid vehicles</a> sold. By 2005 that number had increased by 1.2% to 200,000, and it's estimated that by 2007 more than 400,000 hybrids will be sold. <br /><br /> There are several hybrids currently available in North America. They include the Honda Civic, Honda Accord, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/honda+insight" rel="tag">Honda Insight</a>, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/toyota+prius" rel="tag">Toyota Prius</a>, and the Mercury Mariner. There are also Hybrid SUVs available - the Ford Escape, the Lexas 400H and the Toyota Highlander. <br /><br /> The Toyota Prius holds 52% of the hybrid market with just under 108,000 vehicles. The Honda Civic is the next most popular with 25,000 vehicles. <br /><br /> Now that consumer support for the hybrids has arrived, auto manufacturers are increasing the pace at which they introduce <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hybrid+models" rel="tag">hybrid models</a>. In 2006, the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/honda+cr+v" rel="tag">Honda CR V</a> SUV, Saturn Vue, Hyundai Accent, and Kia Rio are being introduced as hybrid models. In 2007 we will see the Toyota Camry, Honda Fit, Mazda Tribute, Chevrolet Malibu, and Nissan Altima; and 2008 will see the Ford Fusion and Mercury Millan available as hybrids. <br /><br /> And as an added bonus in the United States, consumers that purchase a hybrid will get a tax break. Those purchasing fuel-cell vehicles will get up to $8000 in tax breaks, and those purchasing alternative fuel vehicles that weigh less than 8,500 pounds get a $2500 tax break. It's a nice pleasant surprise! <br /><br /> If we had a crystal ball that could see into the future, there's a good chance that what we'd see 20 years down the road would be freeways, highways, and streets that were full of hybrid vehicles. In fact, it's likely that our gas guzzling vehicles of today are about to go the way of the dinosaur as more hybrid cars make it to market. <br /><br /><br /><br /> We are all concerned about the environment and doing our part to take care of it.
