Cleaning your kitchen is a necessary chore in order to have a clean working environment and also to avoid health hazards. Cleaning your kitchen will go faster if you have a checklist to follow. Here's some helpful cleaning tips:

How to clean a porcelain kitchen sink:

**Stop up the sink and fill sink with warm water, then add chlorine bleach. Let water soak in sink for one hour. For more stubborn stains, line sink with paper towels saturated with chlorine and let them sit in the there for 8 to 10 hours. WARNING: Do not use chlorine bleach for sinks that are cracked or too porous, this will cause the bleach to leak through and damage the iron base, which leads to rusting.

How to clean a steel sink:

**Wash sink with hot sudsy water. Avoid abrasive cleansers.

**Clean and polish with glass cleaner.

**Remove scratches or pit spots by rubbing sink gently with very fine steel wool. Buff with a soft cloth.

Get rid of kitchen sink odor -- once every week pour one handful of baking soda down the drain and run hot water for a minute or so. You can also pour 1 cup of vinegar down the drain and let it sit for 30 minutes, rinse with hot water.

Avoid clogged drains -- never pour cooking grease or coffee grounds down the kitchen drain.

Hardened food stains -- the quickest way to get rid of hardened food stains is to pry them up with an ice scraper. If you have more patience, you can soak stains with soapy water, which will dissolve them.

Clean countertop stains -- most countertop stains can be cleaned up with baking soda and a damp soft cloth. For persistent stains add a little chlorine bleach to a damp cloth and wipe.

Deodorize your cutting board -- to remove smells from your wooden cutting board, rub it with a freshly cut lemon, rinse and dry. <bio>Donna Monday Are you embarrassed to have friends and family over because your home is always so messy?
If you have pets you know that at some point or another they will probably have an accident on your homes carpet. Whether they are young and just learning the ropes or an older pet that just can't make it to the door anymore, they will have an accident at some point. Pet stains can be some of the most difficult to remove, but why? Read this article and learn why pet stains are so hard to remove.

There are a variety of reasons that pet stains are so hard to remove. For starters when they urinate on the carpet they are putting down an acid. The acid will eat right through any carpet protector you might have and penetrate deep into the fiber where they will be difficult to remove. Another reason that they are so difficult to remove is because of the volume that they put down. They put down so much liquid that the surface fibers can not absorb it. This means that it penetrates the carpet fibers and will go into the backing, the pad and the sub floor. This really complicates the cleaning because it is easy enough to clean the surface but much more difficult to clean under it. Professional carpet cleaners do have methods of sub surface cleaning but they are pricey and still might not remove all of the material. The only way to really solve the problem completely is to pull the carpet up and replace the pad and clean both sides. This is a time consuming and expensive process. The last reason that urine can be such a problem is that it contains bacteria. This is what produces the odor. It is feeding on the urine and releasing ammonia and will continue to do so until you remove every bit of the urine.

As you can see, there are many reasons that urine stains are difficult to remove. They are one of the hardest stains to remove which is why if you are having an issue with pet stains or odor you should call a professional carpet cleaner to handle the job. So what are you waiting for, call a carpet cleaner today and have a better smelling home tomorrow. <bio>Go to http://www.thecarpetcleanerlist.com/providence.htm for more information on carpet cleaning. </bio>

Fall is approaching fast and with this time of year comes cookouts, dinner parties and holiday parties. As you get your home in order and ready for these events, one thing to remember is that your carpets need to be cleaned. You want to put your best foot forward and cleaning your carpets is one way of doing that.

Depending on the severity of the stains in your carpet you may be able to get away with a simple canned rug cleaner or you may end up having to rent a professional rug cleaner. If you have only a few simple spots that you'd like to treat then getting a can of stain remover followed up my a can of rug cleaner is the way to go. Both will work in unison together and will typically get the stains right out. If you have those deep down, set in stains then you'll want to invest in renting a professional rug cleaner. This method will allow you take hot water and a bottle of rug cleaner and gently work the stains out of the carpet. By applying the hot solution to the stain then sucking it back up, those deep down stains tend to come up quickly. If not don't panic, just repeat the process a few times and that normally does the trick.

The best step to cleaning your carpet is to prevent the stains from day one. Several of today's carpets come already treated with Scotch Guard. However there are other stain protectors that can do the same thing. Often times something is spilt on the carpet and we think we got it up. However, when we come back the stain is still there. This is from the stain being partially removed but the remaining spill which has settled at the base of the carpet still remains. To prevent this from happening, simply place a cloth over the stain and set a heavy object on top of that and leave it overnight. This will allow the pressure to help soak up any excess moisture. Often after doing so you won't need a rug cleaner but just a simple spot treater.

Never attempt to use a heat source such as a dryer to dry the stain. Doing so will only set the stain in and make it harder and sometimes impossible to remove later with a rug cleaner. Should you have mold or mildew stains on your carpet try using a non-chlorine bleach to help treat these areas. This along with a professional steam rug cleaner should help remove the mildew.

Of course the key is to treat a stain immediately after it happens. If you do this right away then water usually takes car of the spill. Be sure to read the instructions on the product you use. Follow the manufacturer's directions carefully to avoid any further damage to your carpet. Stains don't have to be the end all to your get togethers. A few prevention methods as well as knowing how to treat those little accidents will make your life easier down the road.<bio>Don't let carpet stains tie you down. With the right rug cleaner, you can remove those little nuisances.</bio>

Cosmetic dentistry has become quite popular recently. Teeth whitening, porcelain veneers and crowns, new dental implant procedures and invisible braces are just a few of the latest achievements of cosmetic dentistry industry.

A recent study of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) has shown that almost all people find that an attractive smile is an important asset and that yellow or stained teeth are among the first things people notice.

There are simple and cheap teeth whitening sets for home use available at the drug stores but they are not as affective as a power bleaching at the cosmetic dentist. However, dental cosmetic treatments can be very pricey. Tooth whitening for $600 and up, porcelain veneers for $800 and more per tooth.

Sometimes simple and cheap things can make a difference. The right food can make your teeth whiter and healthier while the wrong food makes yellow or stained teeth. Some foods can even remove stains and bacteria from teeth.

Strawberries and lemons can naturally whiten teeth. Drinks which are not good for your teeth are coffee and red wine for example or any drinks with much sugar and strong dark color. Tobacco can also stain your teeth.

Our saliva is a powerful cleaner, especially when combined with the fibers of foods like pears, apples, carrots, celery, cucumbers or cauliflower. Make use of sugar free gums as often as possible, ideally after a meal when you don't have the possibility to brush your teeth. Chewing stimulates salvia and cleans teeth.

Eating raw vegetables removes stains over time. To remove stain you can also brush your teeth with baking soda, but not more than twice a month to avoid injury of the enamel.

Eating the right food is no replacement for brushing your teeth frequently of course. You should also visit your dentist at least twice a year to get a professional cleaning that removes tobacco and food stains. <bio>Frank Denber provides detailed information on teeth whitening, cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, porcelain veneers and more at his web site http://www.DentistryList.com </bio>

When the furniture is stuffed and swathed with fabric or leather cover, it is called as upholstery. Upholstery makes the furniture more comfortable and gives a trendy and rich look to you rooms. The upholstered furniture look beautiful befitting to the home d=E9cor. But their cleaning is also very essential as it cannot be done with ordinary cleaning. The upholstery requires different cleaning and proper care. All the stains cannot be removed in a single way; you need to apply different methods of removing stains depending on the type of stains.

The stains on your upholstery can mar the looks of your furniture; don't consider the hard and tough stains as a very big problem as simple cleaning tips on different surface materials will help you to do the job easily. The upholstered furniture is no doubt expensive like you have sofa, chair, loveseat and many more. It can get dirty with if you eat on sofa and bits of food falls down and drinks that leave stains on sofa, dirty feet and dirty clothing.

Before initiating the process of cleaning find out the fabric to be cleaned. The best way to clean is to test it in the inconspicuous area to ensure no discoloration or damage is done to the fabric. With the simple steps and different cleaning methods given below can help you to remove stains effectively.

If it is a greasy stain so the best option is to choose a dry cleaning solvent easily available in any grocery or retail stores. Put the solvent on a clean white cloth and blot at the stain, do not rub. Mix a mild ph balanced detergent in one cup of warm water and blot it on the stain, after that use a towel to sponge the solvent and detergent off with clean warm water and let the spot dry.

Some may feel weird but baby wipes can prove effective in cleaning some upholstery. In this too much water and soap is not required and the alcohol in the wipes makes sure that it evaporates quickly. If the stains are mild they can be removed by the inexpensive sprays available. These upholstery sprays work quite well but should be used carefully. These sprays won't work if the stains are large patch of oil or grease.

The loose dirt which gets collected everyday on the upholstery can be removed by the vacuum cleaner. You should be wary if your sofa or a chair is an expensive one, the upholstery of such furniture usually has lot of organic material inside. In such cases it is advisable to get cleaned professionally rather than trying tips that ca be tried at home as it worth the investment.

It is a common problem to have hair of pet on your upholstery. To remove those hair use a pet rake, velour brush or even tape wrapped around your hand. The light and even strokes will remove the hair from upholstery. If not you can try with the rubber bottom on a clean tennis shoe, even the slightly dampened sponge can be used but see to it that it does not damage the upholstery. The vacuum cleaner with a beater roll or beater brush can be of great help. The place where vacuum cleaner cannot reach one can use a pet sponge. The pet sponge is available at every pet supply stores and is used dry. <bio>Looking for more information on Upholstery Cleaning visit http://www.upholstery-cleaning.net </bio>

Did you know that quite a few of the common household cleaning agents you would normally reach for to clean a carpet stain will actually damage your carpet forever?

Did you know that clear liquid detergents are better for carpet stain removing than opaque ones?

How about this: When blotting to clean a carpet stain, should you work outward or inward?

Check out the tips for cleaning carpet stains below. You'll be surprised how enlightening they are, and how much sense they make.

TIPS FOR CLEANING CARPET STAINS:

1) Keep the right carpet stain cleaning supplies handy in a place all their own. Collect the following items:

A clear, see-through liquid detergent (non-transparent liquid detergents can leave a residue that attracts yet more dirt).

At least one spot remover that cuts grease, such as Energine.

Ammonia, mixed one tablespoon to one cup of water (not to be used on wool).

Non-oily polish remover.

One part white vinegar mixed with one part water.

Club soda.

White paper towels or cloths.

2) The correct way to clean carpet stains is to first collect as much of the offending spill as possible, then blot inward (blotting outward can make the stain bigger). After that, use one of the items you have gathered together specifically for cleaning carpet stains. A lot of other common cleaning products contain chemicals that can damage the rug. Rinse well with the least amount of water necessary, and then pack the stained area with white paper towels or white cloths. Weigh the area down and leave it for 24 hours.

3) You can help extend the life of your carpets by using the following preventative tips:

Use a good carpet pad. Put "walk-off matting" at all entryways, and keep them clean. Set up a system for cleaning carpets of dirt and stains regularly, and stick to it!

And remember, when it comes to cleaning carpet stains, it's like being a paramedic... the carpet you save may be your own! <bio>Jodie Phillips is a successful Webmaster and publisher of http://effective-carpet-cleaning.com/ and she provides more carpet cleaning facts, tips and advice on her website, where you can research in the comfort of your own home. </bio>

The dreadful stain in the carpet, how do you get it out? This question has been asked by many homeowners. When owning a carpet you need to be careful with materials and substances that can stain your carpet. It is very frustrating to have new carpet installed only to find a glaring stain in just a month's time despite your best attempts to avoid that scenario.

Carpet stains are unsightly and degrade the overall quality of any carpet. These stains seem to appear out of thin air, of course when you ask who made the stain no will admit to it. Some of the most common, and yet intimidating, carpet stains include soda, coffee, blood, dirt, food and ink. You don't want to see your investment get ruined by dirt, soil and stains that can wear your carpet down and make it look much older than it really is. Many stains can be prevented if you act quickly. If you own or rent every home needs a broom or a vacuum keep the carpets clean on a daily basis, but those hard to get out stains you will see people renting or purchasing steam carpet cleaners.

Carpet steam cleaners use a variety of different carpet cleaning equipment. There are many different ways to clean the carpet, using steam, hot water, shampooing usually are the best choice for the Teflon fiber or the main made type of fibers.

When you are looking for a carpet cleaning machine, commercial carpet cleaning equipment, carpet steam cleaning or whatever you of course you want to make sure the equipment does the best job possible for the customer. Most home carpet cleaners use one of two methods: they either use hot water from the tap, along with soap, to clean fibers, or they use steam generated by the machine itself.

One of the newest cleaning solutions on the market is dry powder carpet cleaning method. That is like pre soaking your clothes in laundry detergent and then taking them out to dry with out rinsing. Dry cleaning only soaks and agitates, leaving the chemicals and dirt.

When cleaning wool carpets make sure the solution you choose does not have ammonia. Knowing which type of carpet you have and its cleaning properties will allow you to make a better decision on the right carpet cleaning solution for you. If you are not careful when cleaning the stain you could discolor the carpet when you using cleaners, make sure you test it before cleaning the stain. When cleaning carpets make sure you do not use to much water, the reason for this is because it could diminish the effects for the glue holding the carpet together.

Always try to choose a product with the least amount of chemicals and in the mildest you can find that will work. The choices today for carpet cleaning solutions is vast, read the labels to make sure the solution fits the job you need it for.

There are many products are the market to clean your carpets, shampoos are very popular because they are normally safe to use and it does a good enough job. Check the products label before purchasing to make sure it is what you need to clean the carpet. <bio>David Marc Fishman is the owner the http://www.tipsquad.com site.
Is your favorite, comfy couch starting to look a little old and worn? Are you tired of looking at those stubborn stains on your couch? You may be in need of a couch cover to solve your problems. Easily working into your existing décor, couch covers are available in various sizes, colors, and styles.

Several situations can call for a couch cover to help you. Although the couch may still be solid in build, it may be covered in unsightly stains. Using a couch cover in this situation allows you to keep the sturdy couch while hiding the ugly stains. Thus, you can hang on to that comfortable old friend of a couch without being embarrassed by the year old stains.

If you have a brand new couch, you may still want to use a couch cover. Here is a great furniture review site http://www.ourfurnitureinfo.com. By covering the new couch, you can protect the fabric and add years to the life of the couch's upholstery by preventing stains and wear and tear. If you have pets or children in the home, this is even more helpful since they tend to contribute more to the stains and wear on the couch.

Most people think of the old fashioned plastic covers when they think about couch covers. With those noisy, uncomfortable plastic wraps, the couch was practically untouchable. Thankfully, those are indeed in the past. Today's couch covers are much more user friendly.

Couch covers of today can be in different sizes from loveseats to oversized sofas. You can easily find already made couch covers to fit by measuring the height, length, and width of your specific couch. These prefabricated couch covers in various sizes can be made with elastic corners to offer a perfect fit over your couch.

If you can afford a little more in your decorating budget, you can customize your couch cover. With customized couch covers, you select the exact fabric you want to fit your color choice and existing theme of décor. In this way you can also have matching window treatments made. When having your couch cover made, you may want to select having it treated with chemicals that repel stains and liquids in order to make cleaning messy spills a great deal easier.

Really, you don't need an excuse to buy a couch cover. Couch covers are fun and easy ways to change the look of the couch and décor in the room. You can break away from that traditional look that you are used to without breaking your budget by having to buy all new furniture. Couch covers can easily hide stains, protect a new couch, and add life to your couch. <bio>Rachel frequently visits, http://www.shoppingfordays.com http://www.beautycap.com </bio>

If you have been struggling to find out how to get rid of your pet's eye stain or tear stain discharge I can totally relate to what you are going through.

We have several Maltese dogs in our family and a few of them unfortunately had severe Maltese eye stain problems.

At first we did not know what to do. The stains ran down their faces from the inside corner of their eyes down each side of their nose and it was unsightly and gross looking compared to the rest of their luxurious white coat.

We checked with our veterinarian and found that the Maltese breed has a predisposition towards eye stain problems as do several many other dog and cat breeds like: Maltipoos, Bichon Frise, Lhasa Apso, Papillion, Bulldogs, Cocker Spaniel, Shih Tzu and cat breeds like: Persians, Himalayans, Exotic Shorthairs, Devon Rex, and Scottish Folds.

One of the main causes of Maltese eye stain that is most commonly discussed is excess tearing.

If your Maltese has irritated eyes it can cause them to tear a lot. As the tears drain from the eyes the hair around the eyes gets wet and stained. Excess wetness around the eyes can be a breeding ground for bacteria and yeast.

Some of the causes of excess tearing are:

- a genetic predisposition to tearing as our vet explained

- allergies (these could be from the environment or from food allergies or even allergies to smoke or other irritants)

- ear infections

- teething or cutting teeth (common for Maltese puppies from 5 - 8 months old as their adult teeth are appearing)

If you can find the source of your Maltese tearing you can often keep the majority of the tear staining from even starting.

However due to the Maltese predisposition to tear staining genetically, in many cases it is very difficult to either find the source of the tear staining or to prevent it.

One way that all Maltese owners can help decrease the tear stain on their Maltese is to pay attention to the hair around the face and prevent hair from falling into the eyes. A simple top knot on your Maltese can go a long way in reducing the irritation to the eyes that causes more tear staining.

After checking with our vet we learned that our Maltese were okay health wise (thank goodness). The deep reddish-brown stains below their eyes came from the dogs normal tears that drained down the Maltese faces.

We learned that it was common for our Maltese to have tear staining because the tear ducts and bone structure are unlike other breeds and that in most the cases the cause of the color change of the hair and skin occurs when the normal bacteria on the hair and skin react with the clear tears. Even though the tear stains were not a health risk, we still wanted them to be gone so our Maltese could have a beautiful white face to go with their beautiful white coat.

We tried so many different home remedies to help the stains and leaky eyes to go away. We finally found a product that worked like a charm and all we had to was add a simple solution to our dog's food and after a short time the ugly stains were gone for good. <bio>Our Maltese now have beautiful clean white faces and we can help you get rid of your pet tear stain too.
Have you thought of how much toxins pet stains contain and leave inside your carpeting. Have you ever went into your home to smell musty pet odors and then you could not notice them anymore.

You cannot notice pet odors after awhile being in the room because of your nasal cavity. The glands in the nose become adapted to the smell, but your guests will smell it.

So how can you get rid of pet stains and why should you consider trying something that disinfects the carpet as well as removes the stains.

The simple fact that pet stains are caused by urine, feces, blood, or vomit throws up a big warning. All these items can cause bacteria and rot the carpeting as well as your insides. Pet urine contains ammonia, this can be extremely harmful to you and your pet. Don't even think about using bleach, because the mixture of bleach and ammonia will have your nose in a tail spin.

So what about vinegar?

If you are thinking about using vinegar to remove pet stains and odors then you are in for a big surprise. You see vinegar has a unique odor that really stinks in my opinion. In fact, vinegar can make your entire house smell even worse then messy pet stains and odors.

Don't even think of using vinegar on the carpeting. Vinegar is potent and will create a funky odor for months that you will never be able to get rid of. As for pet stains and vinegar, I would recommend not to mess with it. You need something that will neutralize and deodorize the odor.

A popular raw material to clean pet stains and odors is enzymes. Pet stain removers are now beginning to use enzymes and some are using organic raw materials.

These organic pet stain removers also disinfect and can terminate bacteria so it not only cleans and deodorizes, you also will get rid of messy diseases that can harm you and your pet.

Pet stain removers are now turning to a natural safe raw material that will be able to neutralize pet stains without damaging the carpets, no matter how old the carpeting is.

Now with so many natural cleaning products developed, it is about time a few major companies have developed pet stain removers from natural raw materials. In fact the pet stain removers neutralize pet stains and odors entirely as well as been tested to get rid of bacteria. Somewhat like a disinfectant anti-microbial pet stain remover.

For free samples or to try going green with pet stain removers you can look at a few new product launches that are going to be happening like http://www.mycleaningproducts.com/pet_products.html For a limited time you can be given a chance to try there new Stainerizer pet stain remover.

Go green and be sure to stay away from harsh chemicals, not only can they hurt your carpets and furniture, they can kill you and your pets. To look for natural cleaning products research the raw materials of the MSDS sheets. These will tell you if any hazardous raw materials are contained in the formula. Solvents, acids, bleach will all contain some type of harsh chemical. While they will clean you are endangering your carpet, pets, and yourself.
Nearly everyone has carpet in their homes and can use a few good tips for the care and cleaning of carpet.

No one like avoiding inviting friends and family over to your home because the carpet has odors or embarrassing carpet stains. Maybe it is because your pets or children track dirt and mud through the home after being outside. Maybe it is because of drink spills on the carpet.

Whatever the reason, you can put an end to dirty, smelly carpet if you choose to with the following tips on keeping your carpet stain and odor free.

The first thing you need to do is routine maintenance to prolong the life of your carpet. Make sure to vacuum regularly because dirt, grime and even pet hair can accumulate within the fibers of the carpet to cause a dirty appearance and in some cases problems for those with allergies. If you leave the dirt to build up it can cause damage to the carpet and make it more difficult to clean when you do it.

Make sure to clean up any spills immediately before the stain sets in or odors spring up. If the spill is of a solid consistency you may use paper towels to remove as much as possible prior to addressing any stain in the carpet. Do not rub the stain but lift it straight off the carpet to keep the staining to a minimum. After the mess is removed you can begin to clean the spot with a paper towel and plain water. At first use a blotting motion in the area followed by a clockwise motion and then a counter clockwise motion to remove any stains. You do not want to scrub at the carpet because that can damage the carpet fibers.

Lastly you should use as mild a cleaner as possible for the stain. If water does not remove it add just a touch of detergent and this should remove most stains that you encounter. If this technique does not take the stain out there is another article with additional stain removal tips mentioned later in the article. You should know that some chemicals may damage carpets so best is to use chemicals that are designed for use on carpet and even then use them sparingly.

Whenever working on stains you should make sure to used gloves to protect your skin and test in a small less noticeable area to make sure the carpet does not discolor. Use circular motions and smaller amounts of liquid, there is no need to saturate the area. When finished rinse with clean water and blot dry with clean white towels to remove as much liquid as possible.

If you can take the time to clean up stains and spills immediately, it will help to prevent odors and persistent stains that can cause embarrassment when trying to get together with friends and family.

Cleaning up spills to prevent stains and odors may not be fun, but it is necessary when you want to keep your carpet looking and smelling its best.
Although teeth whitening treatment is a cosmetic procedure, it can be seen as a necessary one as it can affect your personal life and even career. This is especially so if your profession is in the service sector where personal appearance is important to create a good impression.

Laser teeth whitening is costly but many feel it is worth it since it produces almost immediate results in a short time with little discomfort. Others on a budget may try over the counter home DIY teeth whitening systems. These can work but the process is much more tedious as it usually involves several days of applying whitening gel, sometimes overnight for the whitening process to work.

For light stains and discoloration, home DIY kits offer a viable solution that can be effective and less costly in the long run. Various tooth whitening gel products are available in the form of dental trays or strips. There are also very handy pens that allow for no-mess application of whitening gel on the go.

More intensive teeth whitening home treatments that are commercially available is the Opalescence tooth whitening system. This hydrogen peroxide based bleaching agent is pre-packed as two individual components that are mixed at the time of use and is left overnight for the whitening process to work.

For teeth with deeper discoloration however, end results of home DIY kits may not be able to match up to the shade of white achieved by professional treatment at a dental clinic.

In such cases, laser teeth whitening may be the only solution. In laser teeth whitening, it involves activating the bleaching agent with light to penetrate teeth to stimulate color change and remove discoloration. Several sessions may be required to achieve the desired end result.

After undergoing laser teeth whitening, use a toothpaste with a bleaching agent to maintain teeth whiteness. Over time however, stains are inevitable as various food and drink will leave stains eventually. Some types of drinks such as coffee and tea have a much stronger staining effect. Smoking too, stains teeth easily. Moderating intake of such food and drink helps reduce and delay teeth discoloration.

The most aesthetically pleasing teeth whitening treatment is the use of teeth veneers. This is a very costly procedure that involves bonding very thin porcelain veneers onto the front of teeth and is usually carried out for chipped or misalign teeth. It is also used for teeth that have stains that cannot be removed.

Veneers have a few disadvantages. Once it breaks, there is no way to repair it. Also, having veneers bonded onto teeth requires that a minimal but noticeable amount of teeth enamel to be trimmed to fit the veneer. Teeth that have had veneers fitted must always have a veneer on in order to have a natural shape. Therefore, the cost could be very high in the long run.

Given all the pros and cons of each procedure, it is best to be fully informed as to what each entails so that you know what to expect during and after each teeth whitening treatment. <bio>The author contributes to http://www.teethwhitening360.com, a site about various teeth whitening treatments such as laser teeth whitening, teeth whitening products and related topics. </bio>

Natural cleaning products industry now have a new outlook on getting rid of pet stains and pet odors. The problem most do not find until they are sick is that when pet stain carpeting, they leave behind bacteria and digestive enzymes that can pollute he lungs of humans as well as pets.

Many pets stains not only keep a dark film of soot on the carpet or furniture, they also leave very pungent odors. This is where most pet stain removers are not cutting the problem and here is why.

In older formulations, most are formulated with the same solution as your common household cleaner or all purpose cleaner. This is mostly because of the scent and the harsh chemical that will initially clean the stain, but let us look a bit deeper. What about the bacteria and ammonia, this is causing problems for individuals with compromised immunity systems.

When you see a pet stain, there is a stain from the urine or feces. But also more importantly there is bacteria that settles to the fibers of the carpeting. This bacteria is not always removed from usual pet stain removers and household cleaners. This is where a mixture of natural enzymes materials.

Why using vinegar and natural household cleaners may worsen the area.

While it is is possible to clean pet stain with natural cleaners in the kitchen, be careful to stay away from bleach and vinegar. In most cases bleach will literally cause a chemical reaction with ammonia and totally pollute the area. You will immediately smell the most pungent odor and the mix of chemicals can definitely hurt your lungs.

Inhalation of ammonia will cause damage to human lungs as well as pets. In many cases there is pet abuse due to amount of high chemicals of ammonia caused from pet urine. Cat urine and dog urine both have ammonia and to allow them to settle on the carpet can be bad for you, your family and pet.

You will not always have to remove the carpeting. There are new natural cleaning products that are perfect for pet stains and pet odors by http://www.mycleaningproducts.com.

There is other solutions to getting rid of pet stains literally with no wiping. Also as an added bonus the smells and bacteria will be neutralized not leaving any dangerous chemicals and bacteria behind. When battling pet stains be sure to use a natural pet stain remover that contains a natural enzyme that can destroy the bacteria, stains, and odors. Don't be fooled using vinegar, this pungent odor will stain inside the home for quite a while and not destroy pet odors, but only mask them. If you are curious on trying a new carpet pet stain remover there is actually during this week a new launch where you can receive a free sample of Stainerizer.
Wood furniture adds an element of warmth and charm to any décor. Unfortunately, it's also susceptible to stains. Whether you've got a beloved piece of wood furniture handed down from your grandparents or a brand new addition to your home, you might be disappointed the first time you notice a ring-shaped water stain on the wooden surface. But don't despair; even tough water stains can be removed. You won't need to replace your wood furniture if you follow these quick tips for removing water stains.

First, it's important to treat the stain as soon as possible. If you can catch the stain right after its formation, you have the best chance of removing it. But what if your wood furniture is older, and it came with stains already in place? There's still hope. Do-it-yourself experts recommend taking mayonnaise, oil, or the meat of walnuts or pecans and rubbing it into the water mark. The fatty substances will penetrate the wood and leave the stained area darker and harder to see.

Use your finger to rub the oils into the wood, then let the furniture sit for several minutes before repeating the treatment. Older water marks might need to sit overnight.

When the wood furniture has finished soaking up the treatment, use a clean, dry cloth to wipe away the residue. You might need to repeat this a few times to get stubborn stains out of the wood finish.

Other experts suggest using toothpaste. Simply take a non-gel toothpaste and rub it over the water stain with a damp cloth. Then take a dry cloth and wipe off the toothpaste. Polish your furniture afterward, and it should look as good as new.

Furniture with a good finish can be wiped down with a mixture of baking soda and toothpaste. For antiques, try a very fine grade of steel wool followed by a soft wax polish. For especially stubborn white marks on dark furniture, take a small amount of brown shoe polish and work it into the area before wiping it clean. It should camouflage any discoloration. Always follow your water stain treatments with a good coat of furniture polish.

If a water stain is just too persistent, you can always hire a professional to refinish the furniture, or do it yourself. Remember, the key ingredient for water stain removal is elbow grease - and lots of it. Gentle, prolonged polishing works better than quick, rough strokes. Harsh treatment can harm the wood's finish. Be gentle, firm, and patient. If all else fails, you can either replace the furniture or use strategically-placed table runners and cloths to simply hide the stain.

Prevention is the best way to handle water stains. If you've got a new piece of wood furniture that you want to keep in great shape, always use a coaster for your drinks and insist that your guests do so as well. After all, it's easier to avoid stains altogether than to try and remove them after the damage has been done.<bio>Visit us at furniture design.
Upholstery must be taken care of in order to retain its perfect condition. It is vital to use proper solution to treat stains in your furniture to avoid further damage.

Upholsteries are delightful investments for your home. They add beauty and functionality to the interior of your house. That is why it is very significant to keep these appliances neat and in good shape. However, certain factors such as stains and moulds can affect the appearance and condition of your investment. As an owner, there are a lot of things that you can do on your own to preserve your precious upholstery.

Stains and moulds are common problems with upholstery. Yet removing them can be easy. In doing away with these unwanted particles, you just have to identify what kind of material was used for the upholstery. Also, you need to find out what substance or chemical has caused the stain and how long the stain has been in the furniture. You can either check the manual or ask the manufacturer on the type of fabric used if you do not have any idea.

When you've gathered enough information, it is best to test the cleaning material of your choice within an unnoticeable portion of your furniture. This is crucial so as not to ruin the whole upholstery in case there be any unpleasant effects such us discoloration by the cleaning substance. There are different types of stains as well as there are different techniques and solutions by which stains can be eliminated. Here are some helpful tips that can aid you in getting rid of various stains:

Moulds - This can be easily taken out by using a mixture of at least cup of hydrogen peroxide with one quarter teaspoon of color safe bleach. Using a clean cloth and the solution, rub slightly the area that has the stain. Afterwards, use a warm water to wash away the stain and let it dry.

Coffee -- Coffee is a common source of upholstery stains. You can quickly eliminate the stain caused by coffee by mixing water, dish detergent, and vinegar. Apply slightly to the stained area but do not do smudge too hard because it might cause added harm. Should this method not offer any helpful results, you can further treat the substance by using a dry cleaning solvent.

Grease -- It is critical to remove grease stain immediately from the upholstery. This is achievable by simply using cornstarch or salt. Thoroughly sprinkle in the affected area and rub it evenly until the grease is suck up. When the grease is totally absorbed, brush away the grease and the powder. Then wipe it by using a wet cloth.

Non-gel toothpaste can be utilized for water proof upholsteries. Just polish it with a damp cloth to wipe the substance. Water proof fabric is the easiest to clean compared to other fabrics. Generally, it is more difficult to remove stains if it had remained for a longer period. But then again, it is possible to take out these stains by following the above mentioned procedure. It is always ideal to prevent the causes of stains. Preventive measures are a lot easier than treating the already existing blemishes. It saves you much time for cleaning, too.

Keep your upholstery from coming in touch with materials that contain inks such as newspapers and magazines for these are potential sources of stains. Do not cover your furniture with dark color sheets because these materials contain dyes that may lead to stains after an extended time. All substances that can cause discolorations and or marks such as paint materials, nail polishes, greases, and dyes should be kept away from your upholstery.

Moreover, do not to expose your upholstered furniture to direct sunlight as it tends to dry the fabric and could easily crack overtime. Sunlight can also easily fade the color especially those with leather and vinyl fabrics. Too much exposure to dusts can cause your furniture to deteriorate in just a matter of months, as well.

Immediately removing any mess from your furniture while it is still new is another good practice. Letting it dry and leaving it that way for a longer time creates more problems in cleaning. It also helps to let every member of the family be aware of the things that should be done to keep your upholstery in good shape.<bio>For more information on Removing Stains from Upholstery please visit our website.</bio>

Choosing whether to clean a carpet yourself or have a professional. Instructions on how to clean a carpet yourself. Save money by doing it yourself.

It seems like as soon as you get something new. it will get stained. The same is true of your new carpet. You are usually extra careful when the carpet is brand new. but that won't stop the stains from being attracted to it. Luckily. you can get rid of stains on carpets. if only you find the right way. The two main options are to try to take care of it yourself. or hire a professional to get rid of the stains.

If you have a small stain on your carpet. it is probably not worth while to hire a professional to clean it up. A small stain can usually be removed using materials you may already have. It can be easy or difficult to lift these small stains: it will depend upon how large the stain is. and how long it has been sitting. A small. fresh stain will usually be relatively easy to get rid of. A large stain that you were not able to get to right away may take a longer time to treat. The very first thing you have to do if you want to make stain removal easier. is to blot as much of the stain up with plain white paper towels. Blotting is the best way to go. because excess rubbing will damage the fiber. and this may make the stains set better into the broken fiber.

The most common household items used or cleaning carpet stains are dishwashing liquid. dilluted household ammonia. hydrogen peroxide. rubbing alcohol and white vineger. Of course. there are also commercial products expressly developed for cleaning carpets.

To get rid of a stain. you will need one of the above cleaning solutions. plus: paper towels. a spray bottle and a brick. The brick is to keep the paper towel in place as you are using it to blot the stain. For grease stains. blot the stain first with the paper towel. Putting a little isopropyl alcohol on the towel will help lift the grease. But you cannot use a lot of alcohol; you do not want it to soak into the carpet. For stains that have not set too deeply. rub gently in one direction.

If a stain is a water based spill. just using a wet vacuum immediately may get rid of the problem quickly. If. however. the stain has been sitting for a while. you may have to moisturize the stain with a little water to help with removal. Remember. a little water; we don't want the rug saturated. Let the water sit and use the blotting technique as usual. Use dishwashing detergent to gently lift the stain. If the stain remains. spray with water and remove the solution just used and start with something stronger. Put something like hydrogen peroxide on the towel and blot with that. Keep trying until the stain is gone.

This is a time consuming process that you have to work at. but if you want to save money. it is worth the effort. Professional carpet cleaners can be expensive. especially if they work by the hour. and part of that time is just waiting for the cleaning method to take effect. You can be doing the same thing yourself instead of paying for it. <bio>Andrew Caxton is a syndicated columnist of http://www.home-decorating-reviews.com .
Most carpet owners are not sure how to go about cleaning their floor covering. Here is some advice to accomplish this necessary chore successfully.

Because there are numerous types of carpets and even more misleading products in the shops it is not easy to know the right way to clean your carpet. Whether you would rather clean yours with a ready made product or by using a natural method, the idea is to do away with this chore as fast and efficiently as possible. Here are a few examples of cleaning methods that will allow you to do just that.

What Kind of Carpet Do You Have?

It is important before you get started to find out with certainty what kind of carpet you have. It may be more complex that it seems: firstly you need to find out if it is made from special fibers or from non-synthetic materials, so that you can clean it according to the manufacturer's specific instructions. The goal is to clean your carpet, not ruin it through an unsuitable process.

Removing Stains The Natural Way

The method described below is recommended if you want to use natural products to clean up stains on your carpets.

• The first thing to remember is to get to the stains before they set. You need to react immediately as soon as something gets spilled on to the carpet. With an absorbent cloth, simply blot up the spilled liquid until it is fully absorbed and the carpet is dry. You should never scrub while doing so as it can make the stain worse.

• The next step is to use a gentle detergent such as dishwashing soap. You should dilute it with water first before blotting a small quantity onto the stain. You should then remove it by applying gentle pressure with an absorbing cloth.

• The first two steps will get rid of most stains, but should the stain still be visible you can try to remove it by blotting on hydrogen peroxide. Before you do so, however, you should always do a test on an inconspicuous area first to check that this treatment is suitable for your type of carpet and won't stain it further.

• Should these simple steps fail your next course of action it to get the carpet professionally cleaned by a specialist. They have access to powerful products that can get rid of problem stains.

For the regular shampooing of your carpet it is recommended that you use a carpet cleaning machine: these are widely available to buy or rent. <bio>Andrew Caxton contributes adding content to http://www.home-decorating-reviews.com.
Get Rid of Carpet Stains

Getting stains on your carpet is a problem. Getting them off doesn't have to be.

However, when it comes to removing carpet stains, there are certain rules that you will need to follow. To go technical in your efforts should be your last resort.

You may try a few simple steps first before trying the more advanced and expensive way.

There are certain steps to take in removing those stains from your carpet. These steps may be simple, but they will surely resolve many things before you can even take any further action.

Well, the first thing to do, which is also the wisest, is to prevent any spill from becoming a stain. While it is still a "spot," work out on it instead of exerting greater efforts after it has settled as a stain. Remember, stains are more permanent and they will require more procedures.

Stain-proof Carpets

Some companies introduce stain-proof carpets. The question is, "Os there really such a thing?" Well, most experts say that such carpets are not yet invented. Yes, it is true that many modern-day carpets are stain-resistant; however, they are not stain-proof. The quality of being stain-resistant only means the stain will not immediately settle and you will be granted a longer period of time to remove it.

Getting the Pain-staking Stains Out

Rubbing either spots or stains on a carpet is a big no-no. Doing this thing will only worsen the situation. What you have to do is blot it up with a dry white paper. Using dry cotton, sponge or wool cloth is an option. By using any of these materials, what you will do is push it down or press it on the spot or stain so soak it up.

Such effort will get the liquid out on your carpet. However, avoid rubbing it because by doing so, it will only spread further and removing it will be more pain-staking.

If this method failed to remove the stain, you will have to bring along a wet sponge or wool cloth this time; but instead of just pressing, try to dab it in a circular motion. This should work. But then, if it didn't, you may dissolve a small amount of soap into the water that you will use for dabbing.

For semi-solid to solid stains, like jelly and other sandwich spread, the first step to take is scoop the excess with a spoon. This should be done carefully, lest, there is a risk of spreading the stain. If the stain has hardened or dried out because you were not able to see it at once, you will need to break it up first before cleaning it with a vacuum. Afterwards, you may clean the remaining spot up using the above mentioned methods.

If the stain proved to be so tough that it has started to become a pain in the neck, it is the ultimate sign that you will now have to use solvents or any cleaning solution to deal with it. You may choose the right solvent depending on the type of stain which will be removed.

Place a small amount of solvent on a clean piece of cotton and dab it on the stain. From outside, press the cotton harder so that it can work its way inside. Extract the excess solvent by blotting it up with a dry cotton or cloth before rinsing it with water.

Never forget to blot away the excess solvent because it can cause damage to the carpet and will make the color to fade out. Blot the excess water up also. Repeat the process until the whole stain is extracted. For best results, you may use a shop-vac to extract the excess solvent and water from the carpet.

Finishing Touches

Test the treated portion of the carpet by pressing a clean part of the cloth on it. If no more stain will go with it when you move it away, then it means you made it. The final step should be drying up the carpet as quickly as possible. You may do so by placing a paper towel on the wet spots or blowing a fan for an hour or so. <bio>Angela Mercer explains vacuum cleaner pros and cons at http://www.vacuumratings101.com and also at http://www.vacuumratings101.com/bagless-vacuum-cleaners.html </bio>

There has been a decline in consumer confidence in the building and construction industry. This may be the same reason why many are now doing home improvements by themselves.

Why not? A little knowledge of the technical aspects combined with the eye for creativity is enough to do the home improvement on your own.

Why are people turning to do-it-yourself home improvements?

Many construction workers who do not have a lot of experience or expertise in construction or home maintenance are out there right now trying to work on these homes across the country.

As a result, homeowners are finding that the jobs are not being completed to their satisfaction. Sometimes they are even prepaying for services that do not get done or are not part of the plan.

You do not have to rely and pay someone to improve your home. Why not try to do it yourself?

You can enhance your home's existing concrete surfaces using acid stains, acrylic stains, epoxy paints, and scoring techniques.

If you are tired of looking at dreary gray concrete, there are some easy projects for the serious home improvement do-it-yourselfer to give your patio, driveway, garage, etc. a refreshing new look.

Decorative concrete work costs double or even triple that of regular concrete. They chemically react with the cementitious material to produce permanent color with variegated or mottled appearance like that of marble. This results in a natural, elegant looking surface.

Water based concrete stains are an alternative to acid stains and are much more user friendly because they're much less toxic. These stains do not chemically react with the concrete; they are absorbed into the surface pores and act like a dye. The big advantage of water based stains is the wide array of colors available.

If you want to venture beyond the basic staining of concrete, consider using some scoring techniques to create patterns on the surface.

You can make your concrete look like a tile floor for example. It is up to your imagination. An angle grinder with a 4 inch grinding or cutting wheel is the ideal tool for this.

The important thing to remember when scoring is to draw the pattern on the concrete first and make sure you are satisfied with the way it looks because scoring is irreversible.

Epoxy paints make an excellent coating for garage floors and basement floors. Many commercial floors have epoxy coatings because of their durability and resistance to chemical spills as well as their appearance.

In recent years, however, it has become very popular for residential use with an increasing availability of different colors. This is not a difficult project, but the key to successful application is surface preparation.

Epoxy paints have also become available in a water based form making it safe for the do-it-yourselfer and ideal for indoor applications. They cost a little more than stains. For a 400 square foot garage, you'll spend about $200 for the materials needed for this project.

See? You do not have to spend money to have your home improved. You have the capability to do it yourself. With some instructions and a little bit of work, anyone can turn boring concrete into their own masterpiece. <bio>Excellence In Academic Endeavors Is Not A Talent That A Person Is Born With.
