You're wondering about that title, aren't you? That's what writing good headlines is all about. You need to make people wonder where you're going with the idea. Uh-oh...

I'm losing my focus!

Ha! I just showed you what I want to discuss.

Focus is keeping your eye on the ball. It's not writing about the optimal condition of golfing fairways when you're writing about an optimal swing. The fairway has nothing to do with the swing--the aim, the position of the ball, yes, but NOT the swing. Right?

Why I said you need a bird's eye view in my title is actually counter to what that really means. Rather than writing about everything you might see from a high vantage point, you need to narrow your little birdy eyes so that you see only what's in front of you--your topic. You must FOCUS.

Let me give you an example of narrowing to a suitable focus:

When you're writing about a popular band for teenagers, what can you write about?

Here are some aspects:

The music The band members Fans The musical genre and where the band's music applies Anedecdotal information about the band Their music videos And on and on.

OK. Let's take the first example. Say you're writing about Evanescence. You can write about the way that Amy Lee sings, how Ben Moody plays, their anthem, andquot;Bring Me to Life, andquot; or anything directly pertaining to their music.

When you start writing about where they come from, biographies of band members, direction of their music videos, or anything that ISN'T strictly about their music, you've lost your focus.

Stick to one topic. Maintain focus. No tangents. Keep your mind glued to the subject and write only about one thing. Everything else you may be tempted to drag in can be new articles. How cool is that? <bio>Pat Marcello's focus is writing and you can check out her new book _7 Secrets to Writing Killer Articles_ at http://pats7secrets.com/killerarticles </bio>

This article is from your MYB Consultancy for small business owners, in fact any business owner

Online Business Education - Operational Risk Management Training

Why do people find it so hard to focus? Small business owners I consult with spread themselves everywhere and forget to focus on what they want to achieve during their normal working days. Focus is for both now and for the long term, so you need to switch between the two. Business owners often don't focus on their real goals because they let too many issues distract them. Both business and personal growth are critical to all business owners success and this article looks at personal learning and growth.

The only way that you can achieve is to have FOCUS

1.Have a Vision. You need to have a vision that you can focus your thoughts on. If you don't have one, you likely have your thoughts going every which way. Successful people have a vision.

2.Know your Mission. A mission lists the rules about how you will achieve your vision. If you don't know what these rules are for your business it's easy to make some undesirable decisions. Successful people know their rules.

3.You need to plan. A plan will provide you with a purpose and a focus for your activities. If you focus on the wrong thing, you get the wrong thing. Plans are the focus tool for all successful people.

4.You need to concentrate. If you don't have a high level of concentration, how can you focus on something and achieve what you want to achieve. When you are not concentrating you likely become quite scattered. Successful people practice good concentration skills and efficiently produce results.

5.Know what's important. When we can focus on what's important we don't allow unnecessary distractions cause us to loose our focus. Important things are they ones that will bring you results. Successful people can sift out what's important and what's not. Don't waste your energy on what's not important.

Business and personal growth is the linchpin for great abusiness owners.

If you want to keep your FOCUS as you need to -- keep these Top 5 Ways in mind always.
Where you put your focus becomes your experience.

Don't think so? When I was a little girl, five or six, maybe, I watched the "Wizard of Oz" for the first time. My next younger sister watched, too, along with Mom and Dad. They thoroughly enjoyed the movie while I cried myself to sleep - afraid of the Wicked Witch of the West.

We were all in the same room, watching the same movie on the same TV set, eating the same popcorn. They had a great time and I was scarred for life. What was the difference?

Focus.

So, you want to drastically improve your experience of life?

Change your focus.

Automatically, your experience of life changes. Period. No exceptions.

Easy to do?

Not as I recall, no. And I have my own brand of relapses still today.

But my focus today is completely different than it has ever been and continues to change and evolve, and with it, so does my experience of life.

But, I'll give you this: I remember how hard it was to "take my mind off of" something or someone. Next to impossible, at least for me, for far too long a time.

Until my life screamed loudly enough at me to get my attention. Yes, there have been some "pivotal" moments in my life - everyone has those. What I'm talking about is bringing an end to a continuous slide down a very steep hill to hopelessness. That "thud" when you hit bottom. Nowhere to go but sideways or straight up, and sideways sucked.

So, I changed my focus. At first for only a few minutes at a time. That was all I could muster.

But...how is it we get good at things?

Practice.

On purpose.

You purposefully make time to pay attention to what you're thinking and if you find your nose burning at the stench of your thoughts, you change them...immediately. And you keep them changed, until one day it's not really work. You don't hunker down and think harder...you just are...and it's different.

And you realize...your experience of life has changed. <bio>Suzanne Bird-Harris is an accomplished coach and writer assisting women in stealing back their thunder by shortening their learning curves in life.
Focus is one of the most important commands to teach your dog. If your puppy is looking away from you, he is listening to what he is staring at. Interruptions are a huge part of life, and you need to train your dog to pay no attention to them and pay attention to only you.

You cannot achieve focus by your dog's name. Daily, you will use his name for a variety of reasons. Worse yet, you will more than likely yell his name out when he is doing something badly.

The phrase you will use to teach your dog focus will be a constantly positively reinforced phrase. He will first learn how to look at you on command regardless of what is going on around him. Next, he will come to you when you call rather than running off to who some unknown territory. Here are the first steps in order to teach your dog to pay attention.

1. Start training your dog when he has not had any contact with you for a few hours. The beginning of the day is preferred because you usually have had no contact with him the previous night. A puppy that has barely had contact is more likely to want to give you his full attention when the opportunity presents itself. Make sure that you walk your dog before starting the session. Don't play with him or talk too much, put him on a lead and walk him for removal purposes. Later, take your dog back inside so you can start training. Keep a leash on him so that you can keep control of him.

2. Use a snack- as a reward. It is very imperative that you know the types of edible highlights that will work on your dog. A starving dog will be motivated by a snack. A well-fed dog may show that he's not interested. Caution: Never feed your dog food prior training.

3. You will be training your dog to look at directly at you on command and a reason for him to look could be that there is food actually falling out of your mouth. Try spitting out bits of food at your dog; this can be any food that he likes. If you have a young puppy, you may get on your knees and show him a pretzel hanging from your mouth. When he sees this, you can let him take a little it from your mouth. Your puppy must be able to take this little amount of food in a gentle way, to avoid any unintentional bites. If your pet is very rough in taking this snack, hold the snack in your hand but near your mouth, and give him little portions as he looks at you while giving the command. You must stand straight with your dog looking directly at you.

4. Usual commands like "ready," "look," or "focus" can be used just make certain to be regular with your terms. The dog's name should be called out before giving the focus command. Simply make a little clicking sound with your mouth after your command. This will help train him to look at your face.

Practice this regularly and reward your dog for it. Insist longer periods of focus, and focus with distractions. Enhance the distraction level while demanding short focus periods. After you have attained focus at high levels of distraction, for example, someone calling his name, you can continue increasing focus time. When commanded to look directly at you, the dog must offer persistent focus on you until he's free to do the next task.<bio>Written by Kelly Marshall of Oh My Dog Supplies - your source for luxury dog carriers online</bio>

Get ready for a golden idea that will accelerate your personal success beyond your imagination.

Are you like most of people who may sit with themselves and define their strengths and weaknesses?

And after that you start developing a plan to improve your weaknesses to become a better person.

And while applying your plan, you face a lot of difficulties and you might surrender with the excuse that it is a habit that can't be changed.

If you are like those people, then accept my apology: you are limiting your chances of success and putting yourself in a great struggle.

By following that method you are wasting time and effort and you are far beyond the fast track to ultimate personal success.

Now forget about that method and let me give you the golden idea to accelerate your personal success:

"Focus 80% of your time and energy building and improving your strengths and focus the remaining 20% on improving you weaknesses".

Don't say it is strange because your strengths will become weaknesses if you left them without continuous improvement.

Your strength will decrease fast while your weakness may improve slowly and you will end up being a "middle" person with no unique talent or value.

To be a person of value you have to focus on your uniqueness and special talent. Develop it, improve it, and the most important thing is: use it, use it and use it.

Forget about your weaknesses; no body is perfect. And focus on your strengths. Focus on the unique value you have more than anyone else.

If you do that you will accelerate your personal success and become a person of great value.

Build on your talents and strengths and don't give much attention to your weaknesses. No body is perfect.

Again, here is the golden idea for accelerating personal success:

"Focus 80% of your time and energy building and improving your strengths and focus the remaining 20% on improving you weaknesses".

My friend, you can make a difference.

I believe in you. <bio>(c) Copyright 2006 by Mohamed Tohami: Author, speaker, and mentor helps you live on purpose and achieve your goals.
A friend popped this question to me- I'm tired of being sensitive and freaking out now and again with stress. I'd like to be able to work and sleep and do the other things i need to do with steady progress. It gets all messed up when I'm not steady. i get upset easily... then i lose my focus and balance... can't concentrate though i try to get back to my focus... i lose my sleeping routine and schedule. i hate it. The question is not clear but I am sure you get the meaning. Many of us have this problem. Sudden stress derails us for weeks and throws all our plans haywire. How to deal with this kind of problem? Here are some ways-

Meditation-

Sit down comfortably and focus mind on something. Even candlelight will do. Let the thoughts come, ignore them. Keep your focus on the light. Do not move much and remain steady. Watch your breath. If it is fast slow it down. Meditation is very good to relax and bring focus back in life.

Control Thoughts-

Say "stop" and re-focus on your goals and your ideal future You can also focus on a calming word or scene. Do this whenever you freak out with stress. Get up from your chair and lie down. Say stop to the thoughts and focus on something lovely. Focus on anything that brings positive memories. You can control your thoughts by watching them. You can use negative feedback for this by wearing a rubber band on your wrist and snapping it when you think negatively.

Yoga-

If you have many balls to juggle, start practicing yoga. Yoga is very relaxing. Do yoga for only 30 minutes total, twice a week, and you will see the improvement in your mood. Put on soothing music and do yoga. Another trick is to sing and listen to it. Most of us sing but our ears are somewhere else. Focus ears on what you are singing and watch the difference.

Walking-

No matter where your emotions were, take a walk and you will feel better. The endorphins that are released when you walk are very relaxing. Walking also keeps us fit and gives us strength to fight stress better. The swat removes lots of toxins and keeps body clean. Your body will maintain its beauty if you walk when you are under stress.

Important -

Do not let everything bother you. That will surely lead to stress. You need to find out what is most important in your life. Put your focus on what is important and forget the rest. Otherwise you will be wasting your time and energy on what is not important at all. Write down what is most important and keep that near your bed and desk. Focus on that and leave the rest alone.

Pamper-

Take time out for you. Pamper yourself. Stop worrying about what went wrong and forgive yourself for all the mistakes. Keep a pet and play with him. Enjoy life even if things are going wrong. <bio>Social network users, go to http://www.wishafriend.com/ac/ for myspace comments and http://www.wishafriend.com/graphics/ for myspace graphics.
The ability to focus and concentrate on something is a gift that is possessed by a few people who have developed the art of putting their heart and mind into a single purpose. Achieving focus and concentration is a feat in itself because it is difficult to get to this state of mind due to the various disturbances.

The modern world's technological inventions have made it very difficult, sometimes impossible, for man to focus and concentrate on a single thing. Wherever a person goes, there will always be a disturbance that will veer away his attention, focus, and concentration.

Even the remotest areas now have television sets or radios to disturb man's ability to focus and concentrate. If not these inventions, there are people, things, or just about anything that will succeed in getting man's attention.

While achieving focus and concentration may seem very difficult if not outright impossible in today's world, it gives man a ray of hope to note that focus and concentration can be acquired through practice. A person can attain the state of being focused on a single goal if he is disciplined and willing to learn.

A good example is a person cramming for an exam. During this time, that person's adrenaline is at its highest level and he is forced to train and discipline himself into focusing and concentrating on one single thing - and that is the act of studying. With proper motivation, man can learn to take control of his mind and achieve focus and concentration.

A man who wants to focus and concentrate on something should make sure that he has the best environment possible for his intended task. A person's ability to control his mind and focusing in a single thing may depend on the quality of his surroundings. However, people have different preferences. What may work for one person may not work for another, and vice versa.

There are people who can remain focused on a thing despite loud surroundings. It is really just a matter of disciplining and taking control of one's mind, and making it perform a seemingly difficult task. There are people who easily get distracted even by the slightest noise. On the other hand, there are people who can remain focused despite loud music in the background.

If a noisy room is not your cup of tea especially when you have to do some focusing and concentrating, then try to find a place that is more conducive for your style. It is hard to discipline a person's mind, particularly if it has been used to a certain setting. However, you can will yourself into focusing and concentrating wherever you may be although this may take some time. If you discipline your mind and refuse to be distracted by anything, you will be able to focus and concentrate anywhere in the world.

Psyching yourself into believing in the importance of what you are focusing and concentrating on will ultimately get you into the habit of being focused no matter what. It is important to focus your eyes and your mind on a single thing and ignore outside forces. The mind can easily do this by blocking other information or matters that are not related to the thing being focused on.

A trick that is sometimes used by public speakers who have to deliver speeches in front of many people is to focus on a single person and bid the mind not to get distracted by any noise or movement coming from the rest of the crowd. You can create your own techniques just so you can get yourself to focus and concentrate on just about anything.

Focus and concentration is important in anything a person does like studying, planning a business strategy, or even just preparing a guest list. The last example may be trivial but if your mind flies, you will never be able to accomplish even a list of ten people. <bio>Public speaking plays a vital role in most people's success.
Taking <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/surveys" rel="tag">surveys from your home have been presented as a modern day goldmine.

andquot; Not only will you be able to sit in your bed with the laptop in bed when you work, you'll earn amazing amounts of money each dayandquot;.

But is this true?

Why would someone pay for your opinion?

The answer is easy; Companies need your input in order to be successful. They need to know what everyday people want in their products, what they prefer, and what will prompt them to buy the products and services the company offers. This is called market research. By providing companies with this information, you are providing them with a valuable service. It gives them an edge on the competition and aids them in the success of their products and services.

If you have missed andquot;the focus groupsandquot; in Trump's the Apprentice, go back and see all the old episodes to refresh your memory.

What's a focus group?

A focus group is made up of a group of individuals that have been selected by a company sponsoring the research or the research company hosting the group to discuss a given topic (survey).

The topic will relate to the company that is holding the focus group. You may or may not know what the point of the focus group is, or which company it's being held for. You're just there to share your opinions and discuss them with others in the group.

These sessions can be held online or in a research center. Focus groups can take a few hours, but they can pay over $100 per hour, so it's well worth your time.

Now you know what a survey is, why they are needed and that companies use focus groups to conduct the surveys.

A good survey will allow the company to make more money (a lot more money in many cases) and this is why they can afford to pay for your job.

Can anyone take surveys?

Sure. But most surveys are targeted towards a special group of people, sex, demographic and so on. So you will not be a good match for all surveys. But there are a large number of generic surveys where the company is looking for all types of people to get a response.

Are there many questions in a survey?

The number of questions will be different from one survey to another. You'll most likely never see less then 10 questions and not more then 50. Filling out the questions online can take as little as 10 minutes all the way to hours if there are many questions and you have to think a lot when answering them.

How will I be paid?

Whether you get paid by the survey or by the hour will depend on the company that you are completing the survey for or participating in the focus group with. In addition to cash, focus groups pay with cash, discounts, drawing entries, products or prizes.

There are several way you can earn money. Be part of a focus group, take an online survey, test products and even preview movie trailers. Not all companies can offer all of these options but they do exist.

Check out some compiled listing of known survey companies; compare them using the knowledge in this article before you decide to try one. <bio>Steven invistes you to visit this top 5 work from home type and survey list website http://www.work-at-home-and-earn-money.com/ for more information and links. </bio>

When we first came across the initial headline of Armand Morin's Focus Generator, it made us think of "warm-lists." You know, where a company ask you to talk to every member of your family, including relatives? It'll make more sense when you see the headline, but in the meantime we wanted to cover their system and see what it was all about and if it would help you become more successful.

Keep in mind the Armand Morin's Focus Generator has a new companion, Tracy Childers. The additional help most likely will translate into another great product, but let's go over what we found. The idea of this product is to get people what you want them to focus on regarding Popups and Popovers. An interesting idea to say the least, but we'll need to find more then this to help you make a wise purchasing decision.

Getting the Facts

While reading over all the information on Armand Morin's Focus Generator sales page, we found an area talking about three different facts associated with pop-ups. The first one explains how important these are to bolster your Opt-In subscribers on your website. In fact, some of you probably are using one or two avenues like this right now. The question is whether or not you are having problems.

A few years ago, pop-ups were one of the best tools you could use to get extra subscribers when you didn't think it was possible. Now, companies like AOL, Earthlink, and other Internet Service Providers are making it easy to eliminate them all together while consumers travel to different websites. This means we are losing tons of money everyday, because according to the information on the Armand Morin's Focus Generator sales page, 1 out of every 5 visitor won't even see your best ads.

The Solution

This is where Armand Morin's Focus Generator becomes the solution according to them. Once you reach this point the fact that there are over 300,000 results involving the term "Popup Generator" is something Armand once you to understand. What we found was that this has been around for a few years already, but if you don't have it then you're simply losing money. We also read that Armand has taught thousands of people about attention grabbing tips, tricks, and techniques.

Features

Granted, by this point we haven't even gotten halfway through the material, but it just lets you know there is a lot of information here. There is a list of features associated with the Focus Generator you'll find like up selling and cross selling, contest announcements, reminders, postcards, and about fifteen other benefits. Most importantly you will get to see how it works before you decide whether or not to utilize it yourself.

Our Overall Analysis

We truly believe you will be able to make an informed decision by the time your done reading the sales page. There is a four step process that shows you how to create, design, and build your Focus Generator. In the end more people will be able to see your Opt-In boxes and you should find yourself getting more conversion rates as well. However, you'll have to decide for yourself if this will help you become more successful, we just put it in front of you.<bio>Let Armand Morin Review Kings Brian Garvin and Jeff West teach you more about Focus Generator.
There are ways to make money other than flipping houses or investing in risky stocks. You always have the option of starting an internet business, as long as you have a product or service to offer. If you have no product or service, you could always take advantage of a franchise.

You must decide what type of business you want to get involved in before you join an internet business. You can sell either your own product or you can also sell someone else's product. This is also true for any services that you may want to resell in order to turn a profit.

There is also the possibility of selling both services and products. While it can be successful to choose one product or service and focus on promoting it, it can also be a wise decision to take advantage of offering solutions for different customer needs.

The largest expense you will incur in starting any business is in advertising. Although free forms of advertising do exist, they are far less effective than the paid methods. If you develop a good marketing plan to reach your target audience, you will be better able to focus your advertising efforts.

Your focus should also be on sustaining growth. If you are selling products, you should plan on selling products that are disposable and need to be replaced. This creates repeat customers who will continue to purchase your product over and over.

If your business can sell disposable products, you do not need to continually focus on attracting new customers. Although it is always recommended to attract some new customers, it is not necessary to continue to do this if you are selling disposable products or services. Instead, you can focus your time on building a relationship with your existing customers and assuring that you provide the best customer service. <bio>Discount Shopping And A Powerful Money Making Opportunity http://myworldplus-freedom.eoltt.com </bio>

Focus is a very interesting thing. It's kind of confusing for a lot of people. Sometimes people have focus when they don't know that they're focused. Some people just can't seem to focus. Some people find that they're focusing on the wrong things, and not the things they want to focus on. It's difficult to measure.

Focus is a concept. It's very difficult to say, "I'm focused" right? Versus, "I'm not focused," because it's very, very subjective. Where's the focus scale? How much does it weigh if you're very focused? The concept is very personal. One person's focus is another person's distraction, and you really need to take these ideas into consideration when you're talking about putting these principles and techniques into practice.

It's good to develop a skill to turn focus on and off on demand, but you really want to be developing your natural areas that you're able to focus in on like crazy. I'm talking about hyper-focus, when you really get into that zone where you literally can work on a project, be thinking about something, be reading a book, be watching a TV show, or be engrossed in a conversation about a topic, where you'll forget to eat or where you'll completely miss an appointment because you're so focused on what you were into or working on.

When you're working with this principle, technique, or concept, you have to remember that it's a conscious choice in the beginning.

Let's talk about doing dishes. I hate doing dishes and just can't focus on the task. I have hated doing dishes from the time I was a very small child. My parents will tell you plenty of stories about me getting distracted away from doing dishes. To this day, I still don't enjoy doing dishes, and I do my absolute best to outsource it to whoever is eating dinner with me at the time. But sometimes you just have to do the dishes. So, how do you get the dishes done?

I'm going to give you some tricks, and please remember, what we're talking about here isn't dishes specifically. It's focus. What we're talking about is your own dirty dishes. Whatever it is that's like dirty dishes for you--maybe it's your homework, if you're in school; paying the bills is a very common one; getting your taxes organized in advance. There are some basic things that you can do to focus, that you can modify and plug in to whatever it is that you have to do on a regular basis, that you just don't want to do.

Before I do the dishes, I make myself a nice pot of coffee. The second thing I do when I want to get a household chore done at high speed (because I'm a distance runner and love running), I actually get into my running clothes, shoes, shorts, and shirt, and do the dishes at high speed while dressed up like a runner. It's kind of a funny sight, but it works. It works really well. Or, whatever religion you are, you can somehow incorporate that into what you're doing. There are lots of very powerful ways to simply connect things that interest you, and include them in what you're doing to focus and make what you hate to do less like work.

It's very interesting the way this works. If you're diagnosed or not diagnosed with ADD or ADHD, it doesn't matter. We're talking about your mental habits. If you need more help focusing, put some of these practices and concepts into action. A linear person focuses on one thing. Their emotions get balanced. They're able to think ahead, plan ahead, and do things in sequence. That's pretty good for focusing on one task at a time, such as doing the dishes. It's a very monotonous, step-by-step kind of thing.

The ADD-type person focuses on one thing, and generally what happens, unless you're able to hyper-focus, as we discussed earlier, your brain literally shuts down. The part of your brain that is in control of doing things in sequence, planning ahead, and doing things in order literally shuts down. The activity in your brain just goes "plop," and what happens is your brain starts looking for other things to stimulate it so it can stay active, except it's going on randomizer now, meaning it will just soak up whatever's coming into your senses.

The point here is if you feed your senses with things that are related to what you're trying to accomplish, you'll stay focused on accomplishing that thing. There are all sorts of different ways that you can play with this in your life. <bio>Tellman Knudson, certified hynotherapist and CEO of http://OvercomeEverything.com, helps others to become focus fanatics.
Have you ever noticed something?

It seems to me that whenever we compare ourselves against others (in any facet of life); we tend to focus on similar people around us.

Let me explain.

Let's say that you're 35 lbs. overweight, you don't watch what you eat, and your idea of a workout consists of twisting off beer caps.

So, let's say that one day, you finally think that you need a way to lose weight and get in shape (what took you so long?).

First of all....congrats! You are on the right track.

Of course, when you think about it, and you start thinking about the food you may have to give up, or the time spent exercising, or the extra effort it may take to cook your own meals, or how you don't want to start a new health and fitness challenge in your life....

And then, you start hearing that voice......

That all too familiar voice........

"Susie is about the same weight as me and she looks healthy enough."

"Johnny is overweight and has high cholesterol, but he still manages."

"Bobby always seems to get sick since he gained all that weight, but it's nothing serious."

Red Alert! Red Alert!

I can see it coming a mile away.........

YOU are trying to talk yourself out of making the best change you could possibly do for yourself.

You're taking the easy way out.

Well, let me be the first to tell you.....

YOU ARE BETTER THAN THAT!

There,

That needed to be said.

In fact, let me give you a deep, dark secret about this subject.

Are you ready?

Because if you follow this secret, you can skyrocket your success to new heights!

Here it is...

NEVER compare yourself to people who are in the same boat as you.

Want to know why?

Because you will ALWAYS find a reason that you are a little bit better than they are...

Which in turn means that you're A-OK...

Right?

Wrong.

Comparing yourself to others who are in your same position will likely lead you nowhere.

Instead, focus on someone who is BETTER than you.

That's right.

And it doesn't have to be someone who is a fitness model, in "perfect shape", etc.

Right now, just focus on someone a LITTLE better than you.

Maybe they eat better, exercise more, or are more consistent.

It really doesn't matter...just focus on trying to take that next step (no matter how small it is).

And then, when you achieve it (and you will)...you can focus on the next group who operates just a little better than the new you.

And so on, and so on, and so on.

My friend, if you follow this simple little secret.........the sky is the limit!

It all goes back to taking those little steps to success that I keep talking about.

So, always keep challenging yourself to be better than you are...never talk yourself into saying you're OK where you're at.

Always focus on taking that next step, conquering that next goal, proving yourself to be better than you were one week ago, two weeks ago, etc.

That, my friend, will certainly make you better than you ever have been.

I'll talk to you soon.

Chris C. <bio>Chris Callegari, founder of http://www.fitnesswithchris.com is unleashing his real-world exercise, fitness, nutrition, and healthy eating tips to the world, to help support lifestyle changes for any and everyone. </bio>

We mention all the time that real child safety, online or offline safety, begins with mental focus, what we call the Powers of Focus.

The Powers Of Focus for your child is their ability to take information in and process it in a meaningful way. This means they can, at their age, analyze it so they can understand it.

The importance of being able to do this for a child is CRUCIAL in their safety. If children can take information, even at an age as young as four or five years old, and have the ability to understand and analyze it, they will be able to keep themselves safe in unsafe situations.

Mental focus also has other benefits, things we call "Secondary Benefits." It also has great benefits for them as a person and for YOU Mom and Dad and your FAMILY. Everyone benefits!

First, it gives your child a better understanding of the people around them, their environment and their place in the world. This translates into higher self esteem. It DIRECTLY translates into an awareness of their immediate environment which leads to better perceptions of potentially dangerous situations. A child who perceives danger as it begins to unfold can get away from that situation before it fully develops. They can avoid being caught in it.

They will also be able to share their knowledge with others. This means with you or other family members.

When they do this your child actually TAKES OWNERSHIP of what they see and perceive. It empowers them and gives them confidence. Knowledge is power.

You'll also notice your child's ability to make good choices for themselves increases with your guidance.

This is EXACTLY what you want them to do in order to be able to keep themselves safe. You give your child the ability to make the RIGHT choices for themselves.

You will be able to interact and guide your child without them feeling they are threatened by what they say or think or feel. This means your child will feel comfortable and confident in coming to you with whatever is on their mind or concerns them. This includes threats to their personal safety.

So, HOW do you put this in place? How do you teach your child the Powers Of Focus? We've mentioned before Focus Games. These are simple, fun games you play with your child at home a few times a week, for 5 minutes at a time.

But did you know you can also build on this? You can build very good focus abilities into your child's skill arsenal with some additional "games."

We like the Grocery Store Game as a challenging mental focus building exercise. When you head shopping with your child, ask them to pick out things like:

- how many yellow vegetables they can spot - how many grandma's are shopping - what color is the checkout clerk's hair - how many carts are in front of you at the checkout counter

Once your child begins to master this game, start to play it UNANNOUNCED. That's right! The more your child's focus abilities increase the more you can hone them with instant games unannounced and played on the spot.

You'll even find yourself having fun, too, with your child as you play focus games. You can play advanced games at the gas station, car wash, airport or road trip. Anywhere!

Your child's increased focus abilities in perceiving their surroundings and immediate environment, no matter how new, just may allow you as a parent will worry just a little less about your child.

Will you ever not worry about them? Probably not.

But with good Powers Of Focus, you can be a little less stressed knowing your child can keep themselves safer and comfortable coming to you with any perceived threats in order for you to help them. <bio>Joyce Jackson is a child safety expert and #1 bestselling author.
We all have to deal with fear and anxiety in our life. Our fears and anxieties can reduce our self-confidence and help prevent us from getting what we want. One of the ways to help manage your fears is to develop some goals and then focus on reaching those goals.

Developing goals will help you manage your fears because goals help us not to focus on our fears. For instance, let's say that you have to finish your report for work by the end of the week. If you focus on reaching that deadline, this will distract you from getting stressed and anxious. You will be focused on getting the report done for your boss.

Developing certain goals will help you to gain the motivation in doing something. Being motivated can help you in dealing with your stresses, but it will not get rid of them. Doing something you like will increase your motivation to do something besides worry and concentrating on your anxieties.

It is much easier to accomplish something if you know what you want and if you have a plan. Knowing what you want will help manage the stresses and anxieties of getting want you want. Having a sense of purpose can really help you in countering the stresses and anxieties of the situation.

Developing goals will help you to be active during your stressful times. When you are feeling stressed, you need to do something besides worry. You need to do an activity and be active. Setting goals will help you to keep busy instead of worrying about your problems. Once you accomplish your goals, you will be in a better mood.

You will still need to talk to a professional to learn the skills in managing your fears and anxieties. Developing goals and doing something you like to do will help you to not focus on your fears, but it is still important to get professional help for your anxieties. <bio>Stan Popovich is the author of "A Layman's Guide to Managing Fear" an easy to read book that presents a overview of techniques that are effective in managing persistent fears and anxieties.
A quick search of Wikipedia tells us that "Hocus Pocus" can mean "Contrived Nonsense." Years ago a magician would call out the words to deflect attention, as he amazed the crowd with his sleight-of-hand. He knew of course, that if the crowd's attention was not focused on his actions, his "magic" would go undetected.

Our politicians have honed this technique to a fine art, as they routinely jostle our attention from one issue to another. They know that it is difficult for us to maintain focus when the issues keep shifting, with each evening's newscast. Who has the courage to tell it like much of it is, contrived nonsense?

Stories of the magic of focus have been told for millennia. It is said that Archimedes made a wonderful mirror, which focused the suns rays on an attacking Roman fleet. The beam of light was so intense, the ships burst into flames and the Greeks were spared an invasion.

My own children discovered one day, how the benign summer sun could be focused with a magnifying glass, making the rays strong enough to start a fire. Only my prompt action that day averted disaster.

Today, while on my morning walk, I saw a magnificent Bald Eagle glide by. Suddenly he turned, extended his talons and dropped unto the lake. With his eagle eye, he had spotted a fish swimming near the surface and focusing intently, he picked up his breakfast with what seemed to be remarkable ease.

Many of us have had the experience of setting goals at the New Year. Then, when the year is almost gone, we may find a file long forgotten, somewhere in our computer, listing the unaccomplished goals. We may then tell ourselves, "Hey, I really wanted to accomplish these." Now with the renewed power of focus, a goal that was really just a vague wish becomes doable and quickly gets done.

These random thoughts on the power of focus helps to remind me that focus is a tool that I can use constructively in many areas of my life. A focus on the present moment will pull me back from re-living the past or creating phantom fears of what may come. So today, resolve with me to put aside the hocus pocus. Now, as it has always been, the true magic is in the power of focus.

To your prosperity.

KM <bio>Kevin MacAskill works at home in British Columbia, Canada, surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.
I usually get my inspiration as I'm driving when I cannot write it down, and as I drove this morning this thought came to me: RUN YOUR OWN RACE!

I remember reading a long time ago about how horses when they are racing don't care about the other horses; they don't look over to see what the next horse is doing. They are focused and they run their own race.

I found this quote while looking up 'run your own race':

"I raised you to be a thoroughbred. When thoroughbreds run they wear blinders to keep their eyes focused straight ahead with no distractions, no other horses. They hear the crowd but they don't listen. They just run their own race. That's what you have to do. Don't listen to anyone comparing you to me or to anyone else. You just run your own race." Excerpted from The Right Words at the Right Time (Atria Books, January 2004) by Marlo Thomas.

How does this apply to Law of Attraction? Simple: What are you focusing on? Is your focus directly on your life and the goals you want to achieve? Are you spending your time and energy looking straight ahead towards the life of your dreams, or are you busy looking at what the next person owns, drives or has achieved?

Oftentimes we spend our lives judging how much we will do or how much we should do based on what everyone else around us is doing. A good example of this is in the workplace or in businesses when people feel they should stop productivity or feel resentment because coworkers or partners aren't pulling the same weight...but not everyone has the same goals and dreams as you do. We don't all have your skills, visions or hope for the future...We don't all want the same things.

So this message was powerful to me and I asked myself the question 'How much more would YOU accomplish if YOU stopped looking over at the person beside YOU?'

How do you put on blinders? You mind your own business! You've heard this everywhere, from Tony Robbins and Rich Dad to Abraham-Hicks.

Minding your own business isn't a bad thing like most people think. It's about not worrying about what everyone else is doing or where they are going, but about what YOU are doing and where YOU are going and what YOU want to achieve. It's about looking straight ahead and not shifting that focus. Keep your eyes on the prize!

Law of Attraction teaches that what you focus on you will attract, so as you focus on what everyone else is doing or not doing, then you will get more of that. You need to put on blinders and forget what everyone else is doing because at the end of the day only you can change your life!

Are you truly focused on your own race? A friend of mine has the goal of attracting 5 million dollars while my goal is attracting 400 million. That is a difference of 395 million dollars. That's a whole different racetrack altogether... Most people don't realize that they are running a different race than friends, family and coworkers, and a lot never reach full potential because they don't want to stand out. Focusing on your own race means not caring much about what anyone else does, thinks or says about your visions, goals, dreams and YOUR LIFE.

As Will Smith says in the Pursuit of Happyness, "Don't ever let someone tell you that you can't do something. People can't do something themselves and they want to tell you that you cannot do it either."

Running your own race means holding on to your dreams and moving towards them and not letting anyone deter you from your goals or dreams.

Focus on your own race. Focus on your own visions. Focus on your own life. Focus on your own dreams. Focus on YOUR goals and RUN YOUR OWN RACE! <bio>Ophelia Nicholson is an author and Prosperity Coach, and co-founder of http://www.breathingprosperity.com You can email her at Ophelia@breathingprosperity.com Don't forget to visit our blog at http://blog.breathingprosperity.com </bio>

Buddhist meditation requires a strong discipline, commitment, and a will to block out all the distractions of everyday life. When the person is totally and utterly at peace form their surroundings nirvana can be achieved. Buddhists have practiced meditation for centuries to reach a higher being and learn the true meaning of life by sacrificing from oneself from material objects. Buddhists believe desire causes pain and suffering, so no desire and the will not to pursue material goods, enlightenment can be achieved. With meditation, this can be used as a "distraction" from the material and to stay purified.
There are two central kinds of Buddhist meditation which are Tranquility or Samantha meditation and Insight or Vispassana meditation.

Tranquility or Samantha meditation

The goal of tranquility or Samantha is to focus the mind and train it to concentrate. There are four stages to Samantha meditation which include detachment from the outside world, concentration, joy, and equanimity. Samantha can also be broken into forty different types of kammatthanas which a person should choose of his own inclination. Virtues like kindness, devices like light or colors, grotesque things like a dead body, and recollections like sayings of Buddha are just a few of the forty.

Insight or Vispassana meditation

Insight or Vispassana meditation goal is to focus on the Buddhists truths, to reflect inside. Unlike tranquility meditation which focuses on concentration, insight meditation focuses on mindfulness. Mindfulness is trying to understand the object and learn its meaning not just to focus on it. If one focuses on a pencil, focus on what the purpose and meaning is of the pencil, what is it made of, and why does it exist. There are also different stages of insight meditation which are walking and sitting meditation.

Walking meditation takes a very strong discipline to achieve. The practitioner must focus and relax in a quite place blocking out the surroundings and focusing on the movements of the walking. If one can achieve this and focus on nothing but the walking a blissfulness can occur.

Sitting meditation is more commonly practiced. Breathing is the central focus of the sitting meditation. Everything else should be out of ones mind and the focus is directly on the breathing, from in and out and again and again.

The goal here is to be applied to everyday life. Live in the moment and not think about the past or future when doing a specific task. When cooking focus on the cooking, when eating focus on the eating and enjoy the food, when sleeping focus on the sleeping and enjoy the sleep. Buddhist mediation is meant to enrich and enhance lives and to have a better understanding of the world we live in. Anyone can practice meditation, not just a Buddhist. Buddhist meditation is a form to find inner peace with oneself. While the average man may not find total nirvana and spiritual peace, meditation still provide a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction in every day life.<bio>Jane Michael is the head writer at the Center for Meditation. Meditation is her practice and her passion. Buddhist meditation is a great way to start your meditation practice.</bio>

You've got to hand it to Rhonda Byrne, creator of the DVD movie and author of the book, "The Secret." She's gotten tremendous PR, including two Oprah programs dedicated to The Secret. (Some would "kill" for that kind of exposure!)

Everyone seems to be talking about it.

The downside is that when you get a lot of PR, you get a lot of flack as well. "Is it real or is it hype?" Well, in promoting something like this, there's inevitably going to be some hype, but the important question for me is "Does this stuff work and how does it relate to attracting clients?"

Here's how I look at The Secret or what many call "The Law of Attraction."

What you focus on tends to expand.

If you put more focus on things that bring you joy, fulfillment and success, you'll tend to get more of those things. However, if you put your focus on complaint, struggle and failure you'll tend get more of those things.

People sometimes read some pretty wild things into the law of attraction: "If I get cancer, does it mean that I attracted it?" Well, I don't know, but when I'm sick I certainly know I don't make myself any better if I obsess on how bad I feel.

The classic metaphor for the law of attraction is when you plan to buy a new car - say a blue Honda. And then you start to notice blue Hondas everywhere you go, when before you didn't used to notice them at all.

Did you manifest blue Hondas showing up? I really doubt it, but with a shift of focus on blue Hondas you simply notice them more. You're tuned into blue Hondas and there they are.

When we focus on something, such as a goal, a plan, a wish, we start noticing things that start to lead us towards our focus.

When I teach people about marketing, they start to notice distinctions about marketing they weren't aware of before. For instance, they begin to focus on marketing messages and how they work. Before long, they are creating marketing messages themselves that consistently attract more clients.

The law of attraction isn't a big mystery, yet it is true that we don't usually take full advantage of it. We can do simple, yet powerful things to increase our focus - on anything.

One of my favorite techniques is writing down your marketing plan. When you get it on paper, out of your head, clarity increases. You notice where you are now, where you're going, what you need in terms of resources and the next logical steps.

But how many people actually do this? Very few in my experience.

Another way to increase focus in your business is to both write and speak about your expertise. Again, clarity increases and as it does, new, related ideas tend to flow in effortlessly. Confidence increases and this also tends to attract more clients.

When was the last time you wrote or spoke?

Everyone's heard of visualization. But have you ever really applied it? Before a sales conversation, a presentation or workshop I always take a few minutes to visualize a positive and uplifting outcome.

Now I'm rarely surprised that things turn out so well.

And what if you want to buy something that you don't currently have the funds for? Make a commitment to buy it. Set a date. That's another kind of focus. In the wake of that commitment, I promise you that all kinds of ideas and plans will pop into your mind about how you can get the money together.

Most people say, "I can't afford it," and just give up.

As I see it, the secret about the law of attraction is that you actually need to do something to kick it into gear. It doesn't take a lot of struggle and effort but a simple understanding that what we focus on tends to expand.

What do you want to expand in your business? Start focusing! <bio>Robert Middleton, the owner of Action Plan Marketing, has beeh helping Independent Professionals be better marketers since 1984.
A romantic comedy is a kind of movie that a mixture of hale romance tale and half humorous story, but seem like these days movie producer try to focus on humour rather than romance, to make the movie in top chart. The most distinct characteristic of romantic comedy is the writer trying to draw people's attention around this issues

- The romance of true love

- There must be a person out there just for you, you just try your best to find him/her and you will experience true love

- Only true love and beat all obstacles

And the good romantic comedy have to put more humour into the movie most of the time, for example in that scene that when women and men approach to each other, this scene can be perceived by songs popular romantic comedies of each generation to attract audience.

In that sense, sometimes romantic comedy also have a plot story about how people in different generation relate to each other, for example, the play between adult and children in the movie Sleepless in Seattle. The writer of romantic comedy, therefore, should not focus on what is popular now, but have to think about the way they will recover audience's memories about their good and impressive old time.

So where the plot story of romantic comedy movie should be derived from?

Firstly, movie producer should select from any well-told story. The good story that suitable for making movie should have very solid pattern and structure in terms of telling people what's going on. This is expressed in a story's premise, which lays out its core dramatic issue, movement and fulfillment. As mentioned that even though romantic comedy movie these days tend to focus on humour side rather than dramatic side, but being focus on dramatic side also still important. So the movie producer should consider about the balance between dramatic side and humour side which should be focus on.

Sometimes the story that they choose for make movie is very dramatic focused, so it is quite difficult to insert any of humour scene into the story, or even they finally made it, the story may not be very successful. The romance or dramatic side itself doesn't have to be very focus on the result, for example, does not focus on the result whether or not the guy will finally get married with the girl. In stead, the story should focus on the way they tell story. The story will be much more interesting if movie maker be able to insert humour scene into the story to make it more funny. For example, like the Bridget Jone's Diary movie is a very good example in my opinion. The story goes exactly in what she wrote in her diary regardless to the result or what is going to be like at the end. Audiences were very happy and no one care about how the movie ends, because they gain enough both humour and romance during the story.

In summary good romantic comedy should have proper balance between romance side and humour side. Attractive romantic comedy movie doesn't have to be happy ending, it's all about how the story goes and whether you will insert humour scene into the movie. <bio>For more helpful information, please visit us at http://www. http://romanticcomedymovies.com, http://www. http://bestromanticmovie.com and http://www. http://classicromanticmovie.com </bio>
