Jason Taylor was born on September 1, 1974 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Due to his athletic ability, size, and smarts of the game, Taylor has molded himself into one of the best defensive players that the NFL has ever seen. Although his football career did not start out as strong, it was Taylor's determination that allowed him to reach all of his goals.

A little known fact about Taylor is that he was home schooled from 10th to 12th grade. But although he did not go to school for class, he was still allowed to participate in sports at Woodland Hills High School, a few miles outside of the city of Pittsburgh. While in high school Taylor was a standout player in both basketball and football.

Although Taylor had a successful high school career, he did not get many scholarship offers from major colleges. So he decided to take his game to the University of Akron, located in Akron, Ohio. While at Akron he began to show the same time of athleticism as he did in high school, and by the time his college career was finished many NFL scouts had begun to take notice.

The Miami Dolphins selected Taylor with the 73rd overall pick in the 1997 NFL Draft. Although many teams passed up on his services more than once, this did not get Taylor down. He knew that he could compete at the NFL level, and he began to show this early on in his career.

In 2006, Taylor had his best season ever. He finished with 13 =BD sacks, two interceptions, and 10 forced fumbles. This led to him being named the AP Defensive Player of the Year.

Jason Taylor is the perfect role model for young players who may be flying under the radar. Although he did not get a lot of attention out of high school and college, Taylor still found a way to realize his dreams. <bio>Bob writes for http://www.fanfrenzyzone.com and http://www.2GoAllOut.com.
LaDainian Tomlinson was born on June 13, 1979 in Rosebud, Texas. It was apparent early on in life that Tomlinson, or LT as he is called now, was going to be a great athlete. Not only did he always have the size and athleticism to compete at a high level, but he also exhibited a high level of knowledge of the game as well. With all of this put together, it was only a matter of time until Tomlinson began to show the world what he was made of.

Tomlinson played high school sports at University High School. Not only was he a standout player on the football field, but he also played baseball and basketball as well. During his senior season in high school he rushed for more than 2,500 yards and 39 touchdowns. This led to several awards including second team all state, and the districts most valuable player.

Although Tomlinson put up big numbers in high school, he was overlooked by quite a few schools. This led him to Texas Christian University where he would soon blossom into one of the best running backs in the entire country. While he split time in the backfield during his first two seasons, as a junior he broke out. During this season he scored 18 touchdowns, rushed for 1,850 yards, and put up 406 rushing yards in a single game. Tomlinson did more of the same his senior season by rushing for 22 touchdowns and more than 2,100 yards.

With the 5th pick of the 2001 NFL Draft the San Diego Chargers selected Tomlinson. He got off to a quick start during his rookie season by rushing for 1,236 yards and 10 touchdowns. Each year since, Tomlinson has rushed for more than 1,300 yards and scored more than 13 touchdowns. His best season yet came in 2006 when he finished with more than 1,800 yards and 31 touchdowns. <bio>Bob writes for http://www.MVPProShop.com and http://www.2GoAllOut.com.
If you are like most University students, November can be a tough month. You might have just finished all of your midterms, or maybe you're still writing midterms. No matter the situation, it can seem like you have eons to go before Christmas break in December, and even longer before you will be finished with your degree. Here are some tips for staying motivated in school.

Pros and Cons

Remind yourself why you are in school. What kind of a job will you be able to get when you are finished? What will happen to you if you quit school?

Sometimes just the thought of how much money you have paid to be in school is enough to motivate students. You have paid a lot of money (your savings, maybe you have a loan) for this experience. Make it count by getting the best grades you can.

If you don't love school

Not everyone adores their program. Some people, however, really do enjoy what they are learning. If you despise what you are studying, consider changing your major. If you love your philosophy class more than your chemistry classes, why not become a philosophy student? Although you might see less application of a philosophy degree, you will do better in classes that you love. Always study what you love, and that will help you stay motivated about your studies. If you really want that chemistry degree, however, you can always take one philosophy course a semester (for a minor, perhaps?) to keep your interest.

Make a list

Make a list of all of the things that you would do differently again if you were to register. Maybe you will never again take a history course. Maybe you can't stand the idea of having reading to do over Christmas, and so you only want to take half-year courses. If your 8:00 a.m. class is the one causing you most problems, try not to schedule further early morning classes. This will help you when you register next time, and can help you avoid some of the problems that you are currently in.

Mix it up

If you think that you can't possibly read another play for your Shakespeare class, mix up your schedule. Can you write that short paper for your French Enlightenment class instead? If you alternate between lab reports and reading chapters in your textbook, that will help break the monotony and help you with the doldrums. You can even alternate with non-school items, like watering your plants or doing the laundry.

Remember the basics

Although it seems too basic to even mention, take time for yourself. Exercise and eat healthily and you will feel better about yourself. You will have more energy and be more ready to finish the term.

Make it Rewarding

Studying hard to get an A on a test does have rewards, but grades are somewhat abstract. If you keep a To Do list, you can put a small reward next to each item on your list. For instance, your reward for finishing a chapter of your Astronomy textbook could be that you get to make yourself a cup of tea. Make your rewards reasonable and suited. And be sure to give yourself one big reward for getting everything done that day: you deserve to watch that episode of Buffy. <bio>Morgan James is the editor of http://www.theguideto-studentloans.com/budgeting/, The Guide to Student Loans.
Troy Polamalu was born on April 19, 1981 in Garden Grove, California. Polamalu is of Samoan descent, and is well known across the football world for his hard hits and endless energy on the field, as well as his soft spoken attitude off of it. Polamalu is definitely one of the best players and nicest guys in the NFL. This is a rare combination that is not matched by many.

Polamalu played high school football in Winston, Oregon at Douglas High School. In addition to earning a letter in football, Polamalu also lettered in baseball and basketball as well. This alone shows the type of athleticism that Polamalu brings to the game. As a senior in high school Polamalu was an All Far West player in football, which led him to choose this as his primary sport.

After high school Polamalu took his game to the University of Southern California. During three seasons as a starter at safety Polamalu wreaked havoc on opposing offenses. He finished his career with 278 tackles, 13 pass deflection, 6 interceptions, and four blocked punts.

Polamalu was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers, and has been with the team ever since. He is the starting safety for the Steelers, and was a big reason that the team won the 2006 Super Bowl. But although Polamalu%u2019s game stands on its own, he may be most famous for his long hair. Polamalu has not had a hair cut since 2000 due to his Samoan culture in which men wear their hair long.

With such a quiet demeanor Polamalu does not get nearly as much recognition as other players with half of his skill level. But one thing is for sure. Polamalu does all of his talking on the field. He is always among the best defensive players in the league, and has been selected to several Pro Bowl teams. <bio>Bob writes for http://www.DraftDayPicks.com and http://www.FanFrenzyZone.com </bio>

For more than 25 years, George Strait tickets have been available and in-demand all over the world. Strait's pure country sound may be a tribute to his true-to-roots nature, but that reputation in some ways belies his ability to innovate and to bring his personality and style to every show he plays and every song he releases. A look at Strait's life will shed some light on how his persona came to be.

Early Beginnings

George Harvey Strait was born on May 18, 1952 in Poteet, Texas, but grew up in Pearsall. Strait's father was a school teacher, but they left Pearsall nearly every weekend to work on the family farm. Strait's parents divorced when he was in the fourth grade, and his sister left with his mother, while he and his brother stayed with their father.

When Strait got to high school, he played in his first band, and their style was rock and roll. However, he soon discovered his preference for country music, and he found himself listening to and being influenced by the likes of Merle Haggard, George Jones, Bob Wills and Hank Williams.

Strait finished high school and enrolled in college, but soon dropped out and married his high school sweetheart in Mexico. In 1971, Strait enlisted in the United States Army. While he was stationed in Hawaii, Strait continued to hone his style, playing for an Army-sponsored band called "Rambling Country," and they also used the stage name "Santee."

After being honorably discharged from the Army, Strait returned to school and finished his degree in agricultural studies at Southwest Texas State University. Although Strait was proud to earn his degree, he used this time as well to further his musical development.

Career Beginnings

Strait managed his cattle farm during the day after he finished school, but began to play local honky tonk bars at night. He was soon noticed by record executives, and he signed his first recording contract and released his first album in 1981. The debut was a success, and set the stage for the rest of his career.

Strait's sound was clearly influenced by his classical country heroes, but his style also incorporated a more modern-type of energy. His live shows were also a huge draw, and George Strait tickets soon became a hot item in Texas and all over the country.

Accomplishments

Overall, Strait has sold an estimated 62 million copies of his albums, enjoyed dozens of chart-topping singles and albums, and he has filled his trophy room with awards. Strait has won dozens of Country-and-American Music Awards, and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2006. If you want to see a true country icon, secure George Strait tickets for his forthcoming return to the stage. <bio>Written by Jay Nault, sponsored by http://www.stubhub.com/ .
Carson Palmer was born on December 27, 1979 in Fresno, California. Although Palmer does not have the athleticism of some of the other great NFL quarterbacks, he has everything that he needs to succeed. This includes having a strong arm, great pocket presence, and being one of the smartest quarterbacks in the league.

Palmer played high school football at Santa Margarita Catholic High School. As a senior, colleges from all over the country took notice of him as he passed for 31 touchdowns and only four interceptions. When his high school career was over, Palmer held 27 school records.

After high school Palmer decided to play at the University of Southern California. During his freshman season in 1998, Palmer was named the starting quarterback in the ninth game of the season; a position that he would hold for the rest of his career.

Palmer had three up and down seasons for the Trojans, but things changed dramatically during his senior year. Under offensive coordinator Norm Chow, Palmer ended the season with 3,942 yards on 309 completions. This went along with 33 touchdowns and just 10 interceptions. To cap off his great senior season Palmer was awarded with the Heisman Trophy.

In the 2003 NFL Draft Palmer was selected with the first overall pick by the Cincinnati Bengals. After not touching the field during his rookie season, he was then thrust into the heat of the battle. In his first full season in 2004 Palmer passed for 2,897 yards. He followed this up with 3,836 yards in 2005, and a trip to the playoffs. Unfortunately, Palmer tore both the ACL and MCL in his left knee in a first round game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The 2006 season was Palmers' first since the injury, and it did not appear to hold him back at all. He finished with 4,035 yards and 28 touchdowns. There is plenty more of this to come. <bio>Bob writes for http://www.MVPProShop.com and http://www.2GoAllOut.com.
Joanne didn't have any idea what to take up in college. The reason could have been because this person got pregnant at the age of 16. Despite the challenges, the woman was still able to finish high school a year later than this person's friends.

A few years later over a cup of coffee with some friends, this person thought of going back to school. Joanne may have been clueless that time but was thinking of pursuing business in a vocational school nearby.

Seeing that Joanne was kind of determined, the friends decided to help out in this endeavor. The first thing that had to be done was to check out the various schools in the Internet and see the programs that were being offered.

Joanne didn't want to study for another four years to get a degree. This helped the friends narrow down the choices to vocational schools that were close by in the state of Ohio.

The first one that sounded interested was the Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. The school offered business administration and management. The program will last 2 years and this could be longer should Joanne is a single mother.

Columbus State and Community College is also another good choice to get that degree. Though this place did not offer business administration, it offered other degrees that can also be finished in a span of two years. The nice thing about the program is that the student can transfer to a 4-year program after completion.

Kent State University offered business and computer management. Some consider this the best of both worlds because people live in an age where technology is at its peak and has the potential of going further in the future.

Before choosing the vocational school to go to, Joanne had to check the how much the tuition was and how reputable the institution is in terms of the success rate of applicants after graduation.

Seeing that many are accredited and offer career counseling to students, Joanne will not have a hard time after getting the degree.

The only thing the person needs to quality for a vocational school is a high school diploma and the results of the General Education Development Test or GED. Since Joanne took this a few years ago, the process of applying will not be that difficult compared to those who dropped out of high school because of teenage pregnancy. <bio>This content is provided by Low Jeremy.

Larry Johnson was born on November 19, 1979 in La Plata, Maryland. Over the years Johnson has proven that he is one of the best running backs in the entire world. In fact, many believe that he is one of the best players in the world regardless of position. Although he has not received as many accolades as some of his counterparts, Johnson is definitely one player who is sure to put up solid numbers year in and year out.

Even at a young age it was evident that Johnson was going to be a great football player. This began to show during his high school days at State College Area High School in State College, Pennsylvania. He played both linebacker and running back in high school, and finished his career with 2,159 yards.

After high school Johnson decided to take his game to Pennsylvania State University. In 2002, Johnson managed to rush for more than 2,000 yards; a feat that has only been met by a handful of players. Thanks to his impressive season in 2002 Johnson received several awards including the Maxwell Award for the top college player, the Doak Walker Award for the top college running back, and the Walter Camp Award. To top all of this off, Johnson graduated with a degree in Integrative Arts.

Johnson was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2003 NFL Draft, and has been with the team ever since. During his first couple of seasons Johnson did not see a lot of action, but this changed drastically in 2005 when he played in all 16 games. This led to him ending the season with 1,750 yards and 20 touchdowns. Johnson followed this up in 2006 with 1,789 and 17 touchdowns.

Although Larry Johnson does not have all the endorsement deals or get a lot of attention, he is still among the best players in the NFL. <bio>Bob writes for http://www.DraftDayPicks.com and http://www.AllProZone.com.
With all the emphasis on mandatory testing and national standards it's no big surprise that high school rankings have been getting a lot of attention. American high school students face a global economy, high technology demands, and the reality of living in a capitalistic society without the benefit of a solid financial education. Parents, teachers, and students look to high school rankings to help them evaluate their school's progress and to consider moves to new areas.

Should Students Worry About High School Rankings for K-12 Gen Interest?

What if you are a high school student? Should you be concerned about getting into a good college if your school is poorly ranked in high school rankings for k-12 gen interest? Well yes and no. Most colleges aren't going to bother digging up the high school ranking for k-12 gen interest for every student who applies. They simply don't have the time. Your greater concern should be whether your school is really preparing you for the college if its ranking is that low. Even so- don't despair. Attending a school with low high school rankings can work in your favor if you are a hard-working students who's getting good grades. Focus less on the rankings and more on your personal achievements.

The Washington Post reported on an informal survey that found it made no difference to college acceptance whether students had attended private or public schools. I think it's a fair correlation to surmise that your high school rankings will net similar results. Your chances of getting into a good college rest more on your personal merits than those of your school. Most colleges recognize that your school's potential doesn't reflect your personal potential.

Can I Use High school rankings to Get into a Better School?

If, despite my words of comfort above, you're concerned about your school's low high school ranking for k-12 gen interest you might be wondering about switching to a better school. On the one hand, it's easy to access school info now that high school rankings are available on numerous websites and in national magazines. But before you run out the door, consider a few factors.

Switching schools isn't easy. The private school route is expensive, even at the Catholic School option which runs thousands of dollars a year. Now your district may have charter or magnet schools that are reasonable alternatives to your current location. This is a good time to consult the high school rankings for k-12 gen interest. I'd advise against choosing a brand new charter school- you just don't know what you'll get. And you can only apply to most magnets at a certain time of the year. But if the high school rankings have you convinced that another school will better prepare you for college then consider your move carefully. You are still the most important factor in your success. <bio>Patricia Hawke is a staff writer for Schools K-12, providing free, in-depth reports on all U.S. public and private K-12 schools.
Many dream of photography school. It is an art and a passion that few people can take and make use of. But, those that do, really can amaze the world with what they can capture on a single roll of film. But, how can you find the right school to get into? Having the right photography school on your resume really can make a bit of difference. So, take your time in choosing the right school for your choice. Chances are, you'll have many options to consider when you choose correctly.

Here are some things to consider about the photography school that you will choose:

• Does the school provide you the best possible plan of study? It needs to offer you what you want to learn now and in the future. This will help determine how well you do in the end.

• You will need to consider the format of the school as well. If you are to take photography school lessons through the college, will you be required to get a degree or will you simply take classes to gain knowledge without a degree? This is up to you, but it is also up to the school to let you in as well.

• You also need to feel comfortable with the school. This is important because in art, you need the freedom to make choices. While hard and difficult, you will want to have the freedom to do as you need to.

• You'll want to find the photography school that offers the right scholarships and financial aid as well. Not all of us can afford the highest levels of education, but when you choose wisely and with good financial intentions, you can choose the right photography school.

Photography school is waiting for you. Are you ready to get started? <bio>For more information please see http://www.photography-school-info.co.uk </bio>

Brian Westbrook was born on September 2, 1979 in Fort Washington, Maryland. Although Westbrook is not the most skilled, biggest, or athletic player he has always used his drive and determination to make his way to the top of any level that he has ever competed at. For this reason, he is known as one of the most complete and versatile players in the entire football world. This is saying a lot when you take all of the great players into consideration.

Westbrook played high school football at DeMatha Catholic High School in Maryland. Year in and year out DeMatha is a powerhouse in high school football and this held true during Westbrook's time at the school. Although he did not get a lot of attention from college recruiters, he did do enough to get a few looks from the next level.

After high school Westbrook took his game to Villanova University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Although he had to fight through several injuries while in college, he still managed to become one of the best players that this level has ever seen. He still holds the NCAA record for all purpose yards with 9,512. On top of all those yards Westbrook also scored 84 touchdowns during his time at Villanova. He finished off his college career by winning the Walton Payton Award which is given annually to the best player in NCAA Division I-AA.

Although Westbrook had a great college career NFL teams were hesitant to pick him in the 2002 NFL Draft due to his small size (5'8"), injuries, and small college experience. But the Philadelphia Eagles decided to take a chance in the third round, and this ended up being a very good decision. In 2004 he finally got a chance to start a few games, and he did a great job by rushing for more than 800 yards. He followed this up with back to back seasons of 1,000 total yards or more in 2005 and 2006. <bio>Bob writes for http://www.fanfrenzyzone.com and http://www.AllProZone.com.
I know you. I have seen you in my geometry classroom many times over the last 29 years. You have always, and I mean always, been a very good math student. You made good grades in Algebra with very little effort, and you have always liked math. But now you are taking high school geometry, and you are really frustrated. You've got good study habits; you pay attention in class, ask questions, and do your homework. But for some reason this strange course just doesn't make sense to you and you find yourself even requiring some additional help with geometry homework, which has never happened before. Heck, in past math courses you were the one that could give others help!

To make matters worse, you are seeing classmates who had trouble with Algebra suddenly doing very well in geometry, understanding it, and actually enjoying math for the first time in their lives. Not that you're not happy for those fellow learners, but you can't understand why this course is so different from the other math courses you have taken, and why are you not able to grasp it?

High school geometry is a strange creature. In my 29 years of teaching high school geometry I have seen the above scenario played out over and over again. Just what is it that makes this course so different? And what are some strategies that will help frustrated students master this course that sometimes seems so strange?

First of all, if you are experiencing frustration with your high school geometry course, it is very important for you to realize that this is quite common, especially early in the course. Please know that most students do get past the confusion and frustration if they don't give up. Practice the techniques I'm going to give you, continue to work hard, and even though it takes longer for some than others, that light bulb should eventually light up for you.

It might help if you understand why geometry is so different from other math courses. A traditional high school geometry course is about logic. It is abstract. It requires a different way of thinking. It is not what I call "cookbook mathematics" where one is given a recipe and merely has to follow that recipe in solving every problem. Geometry is not about a lot of drill and practice. It is about critical thinking, learning concepts and principles and knowing when and how to apply them.

It is true that previous Algebra courses required critical thinking skills as well, but not to the extent that geometry requires them. However, as you work at honing these critical thinking skills in high school geometry, there are some simple, straight forward skills that also must be mastered if you are to succeed.

Learn all the terms and definitions as they are presented. This is absolutely essential. The same goes for postulates and theorems. And don't just memorize them; as a matter of fact you don't have to memorize them word for word. But make sure you have a very clear understanding of what each term means. I often told my students "You can't expect to solve a problem about a scalene triangle if you don't know what a scalene triangle is." Develop your geometry vocabulary.

Don't rush through your geometry homework. Your goal shouldn't be to 'just get it done' so that you are finished with it but to really understand it. Before you tackle the assigned problems, review your notes from class and look over the corresponding material in your textbook. As you work through the homework problems, check your answers with those provided in the back of the book. If you have something wrong, go back and rethink it. If you still can't figure it out, put a star or check mark by that problem to remind you to ask the teacher about it the next time the class meets.

Finally, when you have finished your homework assignment, make yourself think just a little more! Resist the urge to immediately slam your book closed and put your work away. Spend just a few minutes looking back over the problems and thinking about what you had to do on each one. Developing this habit of reflecting on your work can reap huge benefits in understanding and remembering important concepts. The more you understand and remember from each assignment, the less you'll have to study and review when it comes exam time. <bio>Linda Hinkle is an educator, having taught high school mathematics for 29 years.
Two of Sarah's favorite subjects in secondary school were biology and chemistry. This teenager enjoyed the complexities of the human body similar to how a computer operates.

The guidance counselor in school noticed the high scores in the field of science. After talking with Sarah, it wasn't hard to see that this person will become a nurse after graduation.

There are not that many universities that offer nursing as a degree. This made Sarah decide to enroll in a licensed vocation nursing school instead that can be finished in two years making this person earn money while others are still toiling in the classroom.

Months before graduation, Sarah already did some research on the web. This will give the woman time to check which vocational schools are the best ones around. After typing in "nursing schools" in the search engine, a number of these institutions came out and it was time to get more information.

Most of the licensed vocational nursing schools will want the person to fill in the application form. This will also ask which location where the individual would like to study in and what specialization. Since Sarah did not know yet anything about nursing, it is best to go for the first, which is the certified nurses' assistant.

People who start a career in nursing and start out, as an assistant will report to a head nurse. This person will learn how to give emotional and physical support to the patient.

Bryman College located in Anaheim, California is one of the schools that offer training to students both in the classroom and hands on. This institution calls the program the Vocational Nursing Certificate or LVN that can be finished in 18 to 24 months.

Another school is the Careers Networks Institute located in Costa Mesa, which is part of Orange County also in California. Those who graduate can work as a nursing assistant or choose to another course to further go up the corporate ladder.

Western Career College located in Sacramento is another institution that offers vocational nursing. People who pass the course and the licensing exam can then work as a nurse in any hospital or clinic in the country. Though some states require another licensing exam, this will already be easy once the student has some experience dealing with patients.

The institutions mentioned are just some of more than 30 other institutions scattered all around the United States. The person should check the nearest campus or move there in order to be come a certified professional from a licensed vocational nursing school. <bio>This content is provided by Low Jeremy.
Gail was born and raised in Trenton, New Jersey. Since this person didn't think of working after finishing from high school and become a homemaker instead, college was never a priority for this person.

The one talent this woman was cooking. The skill of cooking some exotic dishes was passed on from one generation to the next and since Gail wanted to know more about it, this person checked around to see if thee was a school that specialized in the culinary arts. The institution found was called Middlesex County Vocational School.

The Middlesex Country Vocational and Technical School is a network of public institutions scattered all around New Jersey. It is made of four campuses that are there to cater secondary school students, adults and people who have special needs.

Founded in the year 2000, it serves more than 140 students of different cultures. Parents and people who find it too far to see the campus in East Brunswick can try the others at Perth Amboy, Piscataway or Woodbridge.

The admissions officer explained the culinary arts would take more than a year to finish. Since the husband was very supportive, there was no problem in getting some money to pay for the tuition.

Since the couple lived nearby the cost of living was not that high compared to those who decided to live with a family or rent a place until the program was finished.

There were an equal number of men and women who were studying in the vocational school. This is because the courses offered were beneficial for both genders such as about business management, architecture, basic repairs, sales and distribution.

People who want to know more then should check out the school's website or visit the campus personally to see if this is conducive for learning.

A year later, Gail graduated and put up a small café in Trenton. This entrepreneur made some of the dishes personally while the staff took care of the rest. As a way to give back to the community, this individual took interns from the vocational school to work in the establishment.

Gail's determination to succeed just shows that everyone can be successful with a little knowledge from a vocational school. The person may not have the same passion for the culinary arts but may be interested in another field. It is advisable to find an ideal program first then enroll in it regardless if this is in Middlesex County or another institution that is closer to home. <bio>This content is provided by Low Jeremy.
It seems that when our children are in the elementary grades, parental involvement in their day to day school activities is easy. Attending PTA meetings and school plays, serving as homeroom mom, and even helping with homework assignments keep us connected to school life and help us keep a close watch on our children's progress.

But for most parents, as their students progress through school the monitoring of their schoolwork and activities gets a bit more complicated. When the kids reach junior high and high school, they have several different teachers and the academic demands become more advanced. There are also fewer activities that draw parents into school life at this level.

Teens become seemingly more independent, translated they don't need (or want) us as much, they become mobile, and all of a sudden it becomes more and more difficult to keep up with what is going on in their lives, both academically and socially.

In my 29 years of teaching high school mathematics I, like most educators do, witnessed varying degrees of successful parenting of high school students. Of course, there are many variables involved in each individual case. Teens are very unique creatures; what works for one may not work for another. One teen may be a very successful student despite having little, if any, parental guidance. Another might have parents doing "all the right things" and still venture into areas that are detrimental to their success.

But the one common characteristic that I observed among most successful high school students was that of continued parental involvement during the high school years. In doing some extensive research on the subject, I discovered study after study that overwhelmingly indicates that parental involvement in teen education is directly related to increased achievement.

So, what exactly do we mean by parental involvement? What form does it take during the high school years? Actually, it can take many forms. Attending school functions, frequent communication with teachers, monitoring of schoolwork, responding to requests from the school for interaction, and taking an active part in your teen's preparation for the transition to life after high school are integral components of what parental involvement should include at the high school level.

The structure of most education systems seems to be constantly changing, sometimes with good results and sometimes not so good. This instability deems it almost necessary that parents take charge of their children's education. Even the best of schools may have overloaded teachers and too few resources.

Parents must take a pro-active role if they want their child to be a successful student. Not surprisingly, this is just as important during the high school years as it is at the elementary level. <bio>Linda Hinkle is an educator and advocate for parents of high school students. Her free teleseminar will show parents how they can help their teen be a successful high school student.
Drew Brees was born on January 15, 1979 in Austin, Texas. Although Brees is not the biggest or most athletic quarterback in the NFL, he is surely one of the best. Since his early days he has been forced to prove that hard work and determination can outshine things such as athleticism and size. And one thing is for sure; Brees has been doing this successfully for quite some time.

Brees played his high school ball in Austin, Texas at Westlake High School. During his senior season Brees led his team to a 5A Division II State Championship. They finished the season undefeated; the only time that the school has ever accomplished this feat.

Although he was recruited heavily out of high school, Brees decided to play his college ball at Purdue University. When everything was said and done he had set many records at both Purdue, as well as the Big Ten Conference. These records include most passing yards in a career with 11,792, completions with 1,026, and touchdowns with 90. And those are just the major records. Brees also won many awards during his time at Purdue, and led the team to several bowl games including the Rose Bowl in 2001.

In the 2001 NFL Draft Brees was not chosen until the 32nd overall pick by the San Diego Chargers. Teams were worried that he may be a bit small to play quarterback in the league as he is only 6 foot tall.

Brees did not have the chance to play much his rookie season, but this changed in year two. During this season he passed for more than 3,000 yards and 17 touchdowns. In 2003 his numbers fell off quite a bit, but ever since then they have been back on the rise. He posted his best season ever in 2006 with the New Orleans Saints. During this year Brees ended with 4,418 yards on 554 completions. This was in addition to 26 touchdowns with only 11 interceptions. <bio>Bob writes for http://www.DraftDayPicks.com and http://www.MVPProShop.com.
It won't be easy, and you can bet that your search to find someone willing to offer you a bad credit student loan will take some doing, but with determination, you're likely to find someone willing to take a chance on you and fund your tuition expenses for another year or two.

However, be advised that if you already have accumulated bad credit, you're most likely going to only find loans that come with high interest rates attached. The good news is that you won't have to start paying back that student loan until you're finished with school, so you can start planning early to repay it. One of the mistakes most students make is to ignore the fact that sooner or later, they're going to have to start paying back the hundreds, thousands, and sometimes, hundreds of thousands of dollars of student loans that have accrued over the course of college and university studies. Most students don't even consider those loans until that first billing statement comes, sometimes weeks or several months after you've received that hard-earned diploma.

If you already have a bad credit history, it will be in your best interest to start putting money away during the course of your college education in an effort to repay those loans once you're finished with studies, and to be able to show any banker or money lender that you already have such a strategy in place. You will not likely find your school willing to finance you a loan if you already have a bad credit history, and maybe not even your local bank branch, either. A bad credit student loan may also depend on whether or not you have collateral to secure such a loan. If you don't, you'll be offered an unsecured loan, which automatically comes with higher interest rates. While you may shrug at the difference between a few points of interest, those few points may mean thousands of dollars by the time you've finished repaying those loans.

Always shop around when it comes to seeking any kind of student loan, and if you have bad credit, it's vitally important to tread cautiously and slowly. Take your time, never sign on the dotted line without thinking about terms offered for at least 24 hours, and never, ever let someone tell you that you have to decide right there and then or the deal is rescinded. Many moneylenders prey on those with a bad credit history, so you have to be alert and know a few basic terms when searching for a loan under those conditions. When applying for a bad credit loan, look around for those lenders who offer the best rates. You need to accept that you may be asked to pay 18-24% interest on any loan amount, which will certainly mean thousands of extra dollars. Loan services are designed to help others, but not for altruistic reasons. Everyone's out to make a dollar, and lenders are no different. They may come in handy at the time, but keep in mind that any money owed is a debt that must be repaid - somehow, sooner or later. <bio>Need more information on dealing with a bad credit student loan?
Is it your dream to have an interior design career? If so, you need to have a plan to achieve your goal. Where are you going to go to school, should be the first question you ask yourself. Have you done any research on Interior Design schools in your area? If you have found a school, research it thoroughly. What do Professional Interior Designers think of the school? Does it have a good record of accomplishment in graduates getting work in the Interior Design field?

Speak to a Professional Interior Designer; ask them how they got their interior design career started. What school did they attend? Was it difficult in finding work once they graduated? Did they volunteer their services in order to gain experience? Another important aspect to consider is will you be able to attend school in person or do you need to take an online degree program instead. Many Interior Design students keep a full time job and take an online degree program from an accredited Design school. It is something to consider if you need to keep working to pay the bills or support a family. Do not give up on your dream!

We already know that you want an Interior Design career, but do you know what Interior Design is all about? Do not think that this career is all about being creative all day long. It is also not about choosing pretty colors and working with amazing fabric either. Interior Design is about selling the client on your ideas, organizing every detail and making sure that the client is completely happy when the job is finished. An Interior Designer must work with the local municipalities to make sure all building codes are adhered to, and accurate records must be kept regarding the entire job from beginning to end. Other important tasks that the designer is responsible for include negotiating with contractors and making sure they get the job done properly and on time. Dealing with problems is a daily occurrence for Interior Designers, what do you do when the painter does not show up? It is the Designers job to make sure everything comes together smoothly.

Once you have finished your education, your Interior Design career will likely begin as a junior designer or assistant designer. As your career advances, you could end up as a senior designer, a project manager or even a partner in a design firm. Another option for your design career is to become a self-employed interior designer.

To give yourself an advantage over other aspiring interior designers, it would be prudent to learn as much as you about computer aided drafting software. Knowledge of this type of computer program could start you off at a higher pay scale. You can aid your interior design career by taking some marketing or sales courses since interior design is more about selling and marketing than anything else is. If you really want to improve your sales pitch to prospective clients, take some acting classes.

I hope that this information has not dissuaded you from seeking your dream of an interior design career. <bio>Thinking of a career in Interior Design?
Jake graduated from secondary school then worked as a clerk in a supermarket in the neighborhood. This person didn't go to college because the parents were not earning much and there were still two brothers and a sister that still had to go to school.

Given the circumstances, Jake had to do what was necessary to keep the family together. A few years later, all the kids also graduated from secondary school. Given that some money was saved from all those years of hard work, this person finally decided to go back to school.

Some people thought Jake was too old to hit the books again. These individuals wanted to prove everyone wrong by studying in a vocational school and getting that certification.

The vocational school nearby offered business management, which can be finished in two years. Jake may not know that much about running a business but the experiences learned from working in a supermarket and moving up the ranks from being a clerk to a supervisor will surely be useful.

Jake did not want to be a supervisor again after finishing the course in the vocational school. The only way to get a better job in the future was to be sure this place was accredited not only in that state but across the country so the degree will mean a higher position in another company.

Since the school was accredited after doing some checking, Jake enrolled and started with the program. This person needed money to pay for tuition, which is why the student worked in the day time then studied at night.

After two years, Jake graduated at the top of the class and was ready to leave the current job and apply for work elsewhere.

Jake sent the resume to various companies. Since this person had a degree from a certified accredited school, it wasn't long before a firm gave an offer to handle a chain of supermarkets in the Midwest. The employer was giving a higher salary and a car, which was something that will never happen without going back to school.

The department of Education and the Trade and Industry Commission gives accreditation to most vocational schools in a state. This will ensure the quality of education provided by that institution and a good job once a person finishes.

If the individual wants to succeed like Jake, one should have the determination to work hard and achieve it. Otherwise, the person won't earn as much as the employee will ever expect. <bio>This content is provided by Low Jeremy. It may be used only in its entirety with all links included.
