What is the tool that will make the single biggest difference in your bowling game? Your ball, of course! If you're just starting out, you may not have your own ball. Luckily, the bowling alley has many "house" balls to choose from. They're the balls that fill the racks around the walls of the bowling alley, and they're free to use.

Light Ball or Heavy Ball?

Bowling balls usually range in weight from 10 to 16 pounds. Many alleys do have children's balls that weigh 6 to 8 pounds, but they aren't heavy enough to be useful to an adult-sized bowler.

Most beginning bowlers are comfortable with a 10 or 12 lb. ball. While it might make you feel macho to hurl a 16-pounder down the lane, if it's too heavy for you to throw comfortably a minimum of 20 times in the span of half an hour, it'll be too hard to control. How macho will you look throwing gutter balls, or worse yet=85dropping the ball?

However, if your ball is too light, it won't have the power to knock the pins down. A light ball thrown by a strong person has little power and tends to bounce down the alley. However, a small woman may feel most comfortable with an 8 or 10 pound ball to start.

House balls are free to use, so consider selecting 2 of different weights. You'll find the weight engraved on the outside of the ball.

Fits Like a Glove=85

The grip of the ball is very important. If the finger holes are too tight your fingers can get stuck, if they are too loose, you could have a hard time keeping hold of the ball.

Check the position of the finger holes as well. Are they too close together or too far apart? Your fingers should slide in and out comfortably, without feeling cramped or stretched out.

Beauty is Only Skin Deep=85

Take a good look at the outside of the ball. It should be smooth and shiny, free of pits, chips, cracks or scratches. If your ball is damaged, it won't roll smoothly down the lane or go where you want it. Many house balls have these flaws, but if you're careful you can usually find one in good condition.

Have a Ball

Of your own, that is! The best way to be certain that you have the right ball for you is to purchase your own ball. The pro shop in your bowling alley will have many choices, and the folks at your pro shop will be able to help you select just the right ball and drill your finger holes for a custom fit.

Whether you choose to use a house ball or buy your own, take into consideration the weight of the ball vs. your physical strength, the size and width of the finger holes and the condition of the outside of the ball. By selecting the right ball for your size and strength, you'll give yourself a distinct advantage on the lanes. <bio>ImproveBowling offers a bowling guide ebook that is great for bowlers interested in improving their bowling game, especially for beginner and recreational bowlers. Initially I slip the base under the tube with the cable clamp which is stuck to the bottom of the base and slips then the box above the object. After I align the holes in the base with the fingers in the box and places both gathers, and then maintains the base with the table. Nothing moves. Before you place your gauge above the object, to close the headstock. You do not want your candlestick finished well turning in an extravagant way when you introduce your router in the base. To cut the slit where the handle will be assembled, to establish your router with "a little right and" a casing of guide.

You'll have to make some which measures to obtain your line depth right of cut. The cut should not be deeper than the point than you established on the face of the base when you rounded above the edge where it meets the beginning of the profile of dish. To now make a passage starting from the high part of the top of the gauge to the lower part of the top (24). To go in the other direction could make incline the gauge out of the index holes in the base. The handle is attached to the base of the candlestick with a finger. The next stage is to drill a hole in the center of the cut which you have right fact in the base to adapt to a short length of finger.

Let's make a guide of drilling for this process - all the necessary that's "with right angle of a hard wood and a piece different of that's 1" with far and 5/8" of hard wood deeply. Both should be between 2" and 3" long. I made with mine 2 ", a comfortable size with work with. To stick both gathers with the higher piece covering the bottom by 1/8" on each side. <bio>The author, Jeremy Stone, is a recognized American home improvement expert.
Fix the base in the turn with the stick to cross in octagon, stick it to the base by using a piece of finger. While this dries is a good time to manufacture a plate before special holding the base in the turn. The tail stock holds the end of the stick. My plate before made on order started by an aluminum 3" dish (6). I screwed a piece of 1" - the thick hard maple which had been cut" the circle to 3 with him and to the bottom turned him with just more than 3" of diameter beside the 3 below metal plate and right" on the other end. To drill one 3/16" hole in the center while the front plate is still assembled on the headstock. To cut a piece of 3/16" - the steel stem of diameter approximately to 1 ".

Throw in the pressure and the file of drill or to rectify the end at a very pointed point while the stem turns. To stick this stem in the hole in the plate before so that only 1/8" to 5/32" of the point is proud surface. The metal plate I employed has two sets of holes of support. I was accustomed to the external holes to screw the dish with the face out of wooden. I drilled holes by the face out of wooden by the interior whole of holes of support. Then I ran 1 "the screws length of head of pan by the latter hole so that the points of the screws exceeded 3/32" or less beyond the surface of the face out of wooden (7). If your screws are too long, to use the discs to adjust them so that very little point shows.

The needle stem, which should further exceed that the screws, and these four screws act a center of tooth just like. It takes a little crushing with a mallet to assemble the white to the front plate. But you do not want to hammer directly on of metal plate; you'll want to employ a piece of fall to protect it. <bio>The author, Jeremy Stone, is a recognized American home improvement expert.
Bowling is one of the best ways to improve fitness and coordination while having fun with your family and friends. It's a lot more than simply throwing a heavy ball down a long corridor=85it's one of the most complicated and competitive sports around. By learning to master the top-ten techniques of bowling, you'll gain confidence, have more fun, and beat the competition!

The top 10 bowling techniques:

1. Have perfect Posture In bowling, posture counts! Keep your head up, looking straight at your target. Your shoulders should remain square to the foul line, especially through the swing.

2. Grip the ball properly If you use a house ball, make sure the thumbhole is loose fitting. The thumb frequently swells a little during bowling and if you're forcing your fingers into the holes before you bowl, they're likely to get stuck! If you have your own ball, have your pro shop custom drill your finger holes. If your thumb routinely swells, wrapping it in bowler's tape can help. If your hands sweat, be sure to carry a towel to wipe them on and then dust your hands with a little rosin. If you have a hard time gripping the ball, your pro shop can insert grips into the finger holes.

3. Remember where you are If you're right handed, a good place to start is 2 arrows right of the middle. If you're left handed, start 2 arrows to the left of center. Adjust your position right or left after you have bowled a couple of balls, depending on where your ball ended up.

4. Focus on your target Decide where you're going to aim. If it's your first ball, aim to bowl just to the right of the 1 (front) pin if you're right handed or to the left of it if you're left handed.

5. Breathe Relax yourself by taking three slow, deep breaths. It's common to feel anxious before bowling=85 but the calmer you are, the more control you will have over your ball.

6. Smooth moves The way you carry yourself to bowl decides the speed and power of your ball. Position yourself so you will take four consistently paced steps to throw the ball.

7. Slow down! One of the most common traits beginning bowlers have in common is to rush. It's important to have some speed to deliver the ball correctly, but too much speed is the #1 reason for both gutter balls and 7-10 splits in beginning bowlers!

8. Maintain your balance Be sure to stay upright and focused on your target as you approach the foul line. Keep your shoulders square as you use your leg as a counterweight to keep your balance during the release.

9. Release the ball Keeping your arm slightly bent at the elbow, retract your arm behind your body, cradling the ball in your hand. Keep a smooth straight arc from back to front. Be careful of arcing around your body and back=85that's a common habit in many new bowlers! At the low point of your swing, release the ball. A relaxed arm and wrist make for an effective shot!

10. Follow through Keep your target in sight and your arm continuing its arc forward even after the ball has been released. Just "letting the ball go" and pulling your arm back will cause the ball to roll off-course.

The most important thing to remember when learning to bowl is to have FUN! By learning proper bowling techniques you will make the game much more enjoyable for yourself and for those who bowl with you. <bio>ImproveBowling offers a bowling guide ebook that is great for bowlers interested in improving their bowling game, especially for beginner and recreational bowlers.
Gambling and betting in sports dates back to the age of Roman Empires and it has been blatantly and relentlessly used as a source of enjoyment in the sports . Betting in sports refreshes the spectator, puts a little life back in the game. And betters who win the bet have nothing but triumph that calls for celebration. Its luck that works but clever people side the winners and somehow they always end up rich. If one desires to experience golf betting by betting on golf during any tournament here are a few things that would enlighten you with how it goes about.

Betting on golf games can be done directly or there is another way of betting on golf that is betting while you are attending a golf tournament. Tournaments are ostentatious and they involve a lot of players and especially famous ones and they are quite different from the ordinary golf games that involve only a few players and their rules can differ. In the tournaments players have to abide by the rules strictly and there are no exceptions. That is the reason most of the people bet on golf during tournaments. This is the simple way of golf betting.

There are other ways you can bet on golf. There is one called the 72 holes betting. When the players are playing a game of putting 72 holes and strangely enough the winner isn't the one with the maximum scores but the one with the lowest scores! The wagers can bet on them and the winner is always decided in the end. These games always have space for betters because when the game ends in a tie there sill can be a winner. The betters do not have to face disappointment. There still remains however the condition that if the match gets reduced and cancels out before the 72 holes are completed there is no winner. All the betters have to forgo their bets.

The game of golf is played in many different ways. Numbers of holes that need to be putted vary a lot. Ordinarily the game that is played as the 18 holes match is famous. People bet on this one and it simply declares the player who has the lowest scores over the 18 holes. The advantage of betting in golf over other games is, there is very little role luck plays in this game and thus if you bet for the more skilled player, the chances of losing are very little. <bio>Jonathon Hardcastle writes articles for http://igolfcentral.net/ - In addition, Jonathon also writes articles for http://universeofentertainment.com/ and http://totallytraveling.net/ </bio>

It was our turn to organize the annual block party this year. The responsibility of organizing is rotated from one home to next. We live across street from a lake and the 12 homes along the one mile stretch of the lake attend the party. I found some very good material about this topic at http://www.grocerycarriage.com. The host and hostess supply the food and beverages. So, this year we decided to offer finger foods. With finger foods we can prepare them early and can enjoy the block party day by visiting with out neighbors.

Many recipe books that have numerous finger foods recipes are at my home. These recipes ranged from savory items to sweets. Normally, the party starts at around 3 and lasts till 7 in the evening, so we wanted to offer food that would be good enough and equivalent to a meal. Many children also attend the party, so we wished to have food they even the children would enjoy having.

In preparation of the event, my husband and me procured the necessary ingredients for the recipes we wished to make several ahead of the event. We bought bread for sandwiches, different kinds of cold cuts and chesses, ingredients for dips, spreads and salsas to compliment the finger foods.

The sandwiches were prepared, cut into triangles and arranged on platters to be put up near the gathering area. Large plates of fresh vegetable with a variety of dips were prepared and put with the spreads for crackers. Sweet finger foods had a number of bars and cookies which I prepared well ahead and had frozen them until the big day. For children hot dogs and stick ice cream treats were offered as finger foods.

Our gazebo area was filled and adorned by streamers and balloons. Lawn chairs laid out in several patterns beside the lake. Some were put in the sun and others in the shade so as to seat each of our guests.

It was fun filled and wonderful for everyone to move from one place to other and at the same time munch food. Since we did not have to call everyone for a meal there was more time to spend together. Finger food were liked by all and even became an item that many said they would serve when their turn arrives to host the event.

After the party was over, not much was needed in cleaning and the small amount of food left could be easily stored. I think we have started a new trend that will be definitely adopted by others for future block party gatherings and will eventually become a tradition. <bio>Melissa is actively involved with the following websites: http://www.verygreenthumb.com http://www.ourmelateam.com </bio>

Could your score use improvement?

Here you are, at last! The roar of balls screaming down polished wooden lanes, the thunder of pins toppling, the delicious fragrance of the cafe and cheers heralding the triumph of a teammate... intense!

You've bowled enough to know that it's a serious sport. Closing your eyes, holding your breath and hoping for the best as you hurl a house ball towards the waiting pins is not your best choice...and you know it.

But just how does that "pro" in the next lane over make his bowling ball do those awesome tricks?

His ball screams from one side of the lane to the other, only to come out of nowhere, right into that sweet spot and "STRIKE!" again and again.

The answer is simple. By taking advantage of the ball's center of gravity, he gains incredible control over how his ball moves down the lane.

How does the center of gravity work?

Out of all the factors that can affect how a bowling ball moves down the lane, the center of gravity is the one that can make the biggest difference to the beginning bowler. Look at the balls in the pro shop. You will notice a small, off-color dot. This mark denotes the center of gravity on that ball. Just beneath this spot are a couple of ounces of extra weight, which allow the ball to roll straight when the finger holes have been drilled. The ball would wobble down the lane without this extra weight.

Clever bowlers realized that by drilling the holes slightly off of the center of gravity, the ball would be heavier on one side, shifting the center of gravity to that side. The ball would react differently when thrown, hooking to one side or the other, ensuring better control of the ball and hitting more pins, depending on the placement of the grip holes. Amazing!

How can you take advantage of the center of gravity when bowling?

Your local pro shop can help. When you go to purchase your bowling ball, simply have your pro watch you bowl. He has the experience to know just how much "off center" to drill your ball depending on where you stand, how strong you are, the weight and makeup of the ball you choose, how you throw and whether you are right or left handed. He will know just what you need. And the best part... Most shops will drill for free when you purchase your ball!

Taking advantage of your center of gravity is the first step on the path to become a serious bowler. The difference in having a ball with a center of gravity set just for you makes the single biggest difference to a beginning bowler and will help unleash your potential...taking you that next step in your bowling performance. With bigger scores to prove it! <bio>ImproveBowling offers a bowling guide ebook that is great for bowlers interested in improving their bowling game, especially for beginner and recreational bowlers.
Do you ever notice piano players using awkward fingering when playing piano?

Believe it or not, this is a rather controversial topic.

There are people who strongly believe in proper fingering for piano pieces. There are also those who are firm believers in free-style fingering.

Let me share with you my own perspective on this topic.

Though the length of fingers differ from person to person, we all have thumbs that are shorter than the rest of our fingers.

As a rule (or rule of thumb), the thumb is the strongest finger

of all. Thumb, index finger (2nd), and long finger (3rd) are the most used fingers for piano playing. The fourth finger and fifth finger are weaker fingers.

Below are four fingering tips that I have worked up as general rules:

1. Never use the thumb to play a black key. The exceptions are a) when you are playing a piece that has all black notes. b) when you are playing a group of keys where there are black and white keys. For example if your right hand is to play Bb, D, and F together in Bb major chord root position, your thumb will play Bb (black note) in this case.

Thumbs are not meant to be used for black key because of its length. The most used fingers for black notes are the 2nd and the 3rd fingers. If you are playing certain scales that start with a black key such as Bb major, Eb major, Ab major, etc. You will use 2nd or 3rd finger to play the first scale note instead of the thumb.

2. When playing melody with the right hand, if there are keys that are out of reach, you may move the hand to play the note. If the key is only a couple steps down from the thumb, you may use the thumb as an anchor and cross the second finger over to reach the note on the left side of the thumb. You do not need to move the hand. Only move the second finger over.

Once the second finger plays the key, the thumb will soon follow to cross over to play other note left of the key. Suggestion: practice the scale well to know what finger to follow.

3. Same rule applies to left hand.

4. Watch other experienced pianists whenever possible, look at their fingering and imitate their movements. I suggest you watch those players who are well trained classically as they have spent many years going through the structured repertoire and virtuoso training that help built a firm foundation.

One important point: The function of good fingering is to ensure smoothness of musical passages.

This is especially important in the piano work of Bach (prelude, fugues, and others) and many Classical composers. Very often, a slight change in piano fingering could cause a disruption of the whole phrasing.

For improvisational and accompaniment pieces, strict piano fingering becomes less critical. In fact, every time I improvise I use different fingering combination. This is because my mood and rhythm change when I improvise, this also affects the combination of fingers I use.

If you pay attention to musical pieces edited by different editors, you will notice a change of fingering as well. I have noticed that the same "Sonatina" piece composed by Clementi have different fingering suggestions under different editors. Some editors use the 2nd finger more often, while others choose

the 3rd finger.

In conclusion: if you are improvising, pay less attention to which finger you are using. As long as you abide by the above rules and ensure a smooth flow of musical passage, you are fine.

If you get too critical about fingering, it distracts your musical thoughts and flow. After all, it is music that you are conveying.

Piano playing gets rather complicated when you are trying to balance both hands, keep a steady tempo (rhythm), make sure the pedals are going in at the right time, listening to the music,.....

Have fun making music! <bio>Yoke Wong is the founder of Harmony and Melody Studio, Inc, a leading piano educational publisher.
It's pretty easy to make a hole in a wall, but it's not so easy to fix one. At least, it wasn't until now, when you came across these great tips for repairing holes in walls.

Tip #1. Determine what size hole you are dealing with. Measure the hole and determine the method as follows: small holes, such as nail holes only need a patching with joint compound. Sand it smooth after it has dried. For somewhat larger holes, about the size of a deck of cards, you will need to place a filler such as newspaper in it for a surface for the compound to adhere to. Medium sized holes (about 3 inches by 3 inches) need a hot patch, which is a piece of drywall applied by leaving a patch on each side. Very large holes, over 3 inches in diameter have to be treated just as a new wall. Remove nails and screws and cut a piece of drywall, secure it in place and then tape, compound and sand it just as you would a new wall.

Tip #2. Get all of your tools and supplies ready before you start. Repairing wall holes requires quick work, so you don't want to be looking around for supplies in the middle of the job. If the hole requires more than just a compound patching, you will need to have newspapers, drywall material, tape, trowels, etc. on hand before you start.

Tip #3. Apply just enough spackle or compound. Excess will take longer to dry and be subject to lumping. The rule is to apply as little as possible and add more if necessary, letting it dry and sanding between coats.

Tip #4. Repairing a hole means working Wit spackle or wall compound, and this requires patience. This is not a job to be rushed. Make sure the patching material is fully dry before you sand and repaint. Don't skip coats; if you need to put more than one or two to make sure the hole is filled and covered, do so. It will be worth your while to take each step slowly, otherwise the patch will show through and ruin the look of your wall. Use the drying time to clean up your tools and work area.

Tip #5. No matter how smoothly you were able to put the compound on, you have to sand the patch. You may not notice now, but there may be ridges around the edge that will show up once you apply a coat of paint. Sand lightly around the edges and dust off the sanding before you paint the wall.

Follow these tips and you will guarantee yourself an excellent patch up job, one that nobody will be able to spot once you are finished. <bio>Greg Hansward repeatedly creates short articles on issues related to cordless tools and hammer drills.
Nothing is more valuable for sorting, filing and organizing paper documents than hole punches, otherwise known as paper punchers or perforators (by highly professional types anyway). Hole punches have not change much since their early inception.

Corporate hole punches come in many shapes and sizes. You can buy industrial strength branded hole punches to organize employee files or training manuals in a corporate setting. You can also buy smaller corporate hole punches for printed documents. Printed hole punches typically include information about punching holes into paper of specific sizes and lengths.

Selecting The Ideal Hole Puncher

While it may sound absurd there is an art to selecting hole punches. No two hole punches are made the same. There are promotional hole punches you can get at any office store for personal use or for use in your home office. You can also buy customized hole punches for a large office if you have a specific type of paper or hole punching need.

Personalized hole punches do not really exist except you can create customized hole punches using pre-existing ones by setting the hole puncher in advance and ensuring the settings for hole punches do not change when others use the perforator.

Most often hole punches are used for collecting materials in a binder. You may have had your first experience with two-hole punches or 3-hole punches while in grade school or after you landed your first office job.

History of Hole Punches

As with anything customized hole punches have a history, they didn't just magically appear here on earth. The first perforator seems to have appeared during the late 1880s in Germany, where it was patented as a device used to simply put holes in paper. Makes sense given the name. Who would have known at the time that customized hole punches would have gained such an esteemed status in the world of office supplies and corporate stationary?

Most corporate hole punches operate using a lever that is lowered to create anywhere from one to three (average) holes in paper. You can find some customized hole punches to create more holes in paper although this is seldom necessary.

Customized Hole Punches vs. Personalized Hole Punches

There are corporate hole punches that are extremely customized to punch holes in as many as hundreds or dozens of sheets of papers at a time. This is a far cry from the personalized hole punches most people buy for their home office. These smaller personalized hole punches can usually punch holes in up to eight sheets at a time, although some advertise that they can punch more holes in paper (punching too many holes at a time can damage paper and the hole puncher).

Let the buyer beware... make sure the hole punchers you buy live up to their claims. If the hole punches you make do not come out well then take the hole puncher back and demand a new one. There is no reason these simple machines ought to fail in your moment of need.<bio>Matt Franks is director of Fluid Branding, the UK's largest supplier of Promotional Hole Punches and other Promotional Products at www.fluidbranding.com.
Truly I tell you, gratitude is the key to abundance. For if you are grateful, surely you will experience an increase in all the good things you feel you are deserving in Life.

Gratitude does not come from a "this is too good to be true" feeling. Nor does it come from feelings of lack and desperation, such that you are dependent upon external factors as if the world owes you anything. Gratitude comes from a realisation, a proper understanding of things, that goes as deep and as true as that of a mother's love for her child.

Thankfulness cannot be faked or forced. You can train a child to say "Thank You" when he is given something good, but you cannot cause him to truly experience deep feelings of gratitude and appreciation in his heart.

Perhaps this is why grateful people have always been in short supply. I am referring to the truly grateful, not the masses that only profess gratefulness by the tongue but do not possess it in the depths of their hearts. However, like any other tendencies, true gratefulness can be slowly and steadily instilled in one's being by consistent and diligent observation and practice.

How does abundance come into the picture of gratitude?

To give a weird but vivid analogy, imagine a person living in a dark, claustrophobic and almost airtight pod. Let's say, for the sake of this analogy, she is able to live solely on air. Her only supply of air streams in from tiny almost imperceptible holes puncturing the surface of the pod. These holes also happen to bring in a little light into her pod.

Abundance is the virtually infinite supply of air that exists as a plenum outside her pod.

Gratitude is the hole that punctures the pod, allowing some air and some light to enter it.

As she lives and breathes in the pod, she is able to notice the tiny holes that have been sustaining her throughout her life. As she has been paying attention to only a fixed area of tiny holes, she thinks those are the only holes that exist to nourish her with much needed air, when in truth, tiny holes dot the entire surface area of the pod.

Every day, she lives a life of struggle, constantly panting and heaving and gasping for air, punctuated only occasionally when she musters the courage and effort to place herself close to an area of holes and really suck in the air from outside the pod.

Let's say she is not likely to suffer from asphyxiation because she is able to survive on very minimal amounts of air.

One day, she experiences a breakthrough. During one of those rare moments in which she gets the strength to really suck in air from one of the holes on the pod, she notices that her suction had caused the hole to expand in size, thus, the amount of air that streams in increases.

At first, she ignores this phenomenon. But when the effect happens for a second, and a third time, she sets out to turn her hypothesis into a fact. Soon she discovers that there are actually more holes dotting the surface of the pod than she had realised, because of the increased amount of light that enters due to the increasing size of the hole. So she experiments with the other holes dotting the pod, sucking in the outside air with all her might, until eventually, she has a couple of big holes on her pod that bring in really huge amounts of air and light.

Day by day, she continues this new hole-expanding effort of hers. One day, because of the increasing sizes of the holes and the number of holes that have expanded, the structural integrity of the once solid pod diminishes, and she finds that she can easily, almost effortlessly, rip apart the pod as if it were made of paper - hence, finally liberating herself and transcending into a whole new world of abundance.

Bizarre as this analogy might seem, most of us live like the girl in the pod. There are tiny streams of abundance entering our self-imposed imprisoned life. All it takes is our awareness of these sources of sustenance and abundance and to expand our awareness of them, thus increasing our prosperity in all areas of Life.

Everything is an asset.
What is a Tea Infuser?

A tea infuser is a ball shaped, apple, or basket shaped container, depending on who is describing it, used for brewing tea. It is very small in size, though the size varies depending on manufacturers and the consumers needs. On each end and the sides, there are perforated holes.

What are the different Tea Infuser types?

There are several types of tea infusers. They can be large enough for an entire pot of tea or small enough for a single cup. They can be made out of mesh like materials, metal, glass, and a variety of other materials. Furthermore, they come in different shapes nowadays, which can make a great gift. For example, a heart shaped infuser or a sterling silver infuser, great for gifts.

The infuser has been extremely popular throughout our history, particularly in the nineteenth century. In fact, it is still extremely popular today. It has become a very popular gift for many different occasions, particularly weddings and baby showers. A search on the internet will provide you with an abundance of results when you are looking for great gift ideas, such as gift sets or particular tea infuser shapes.

How does a Tea Infuser Work?

The Tea infuser is great for those who are looking for a fresh cup of tea. For those who like to brew their tea with fresh leaves, the infuser is a necessary kitchen tool. In today's world, most people use tea bags for quick and easy brewing. However, for a fresh cup of a tea, you should use the infuser. How it works is simple, You would place the loose tea leaves into the infuser and lower it into the cup or pot in which you are brewing the tea.

You would then pour your boiling water over the infuser and allow your tea to brew. What happens is that the water works with the tea through the holes in the infuser. However, you need to be careful of small leaves and large holes within the infuser. The large holes could allow some tea leaves to escape and then you would need to remove any leaves in your tea.

The tea infuser can be a great accessory if you want to buy your own tea leaves and mix up your own different blends of herbs and teas. This way you are not stuck buying only what you can find on the supermarket shelf but you can literally make any tea your heart desires. <bio>Lee Dobbins writes for http://tea.topicgaint.com where you can learn more about tea and tea accessories like the tea infuser. </bio>

Various types of drill bits are designed for different uses.

Drill bits are equipments or tools that are used in making cylindrical holes. Drill bits can also be referred to as a drilling machine. Drill bits are available in various drill types such as metal drills, gun drills, screw machine drills, core drills, step drills, spade drills, forstner drills, masonry drills, dental or surgical drills, wood bits, twist drills, drill blank taper drills and much more.

They are designed to cut while doing a clockwise rotating motion. Several drill bits are coolant fed. They contain a channel or hole for directing the coolant fed near to the cutting edges. The split point drill heads of drill bits are used for chip clearance and for excellent centering. Drill bits can also be used in cutting aluminum, general-purpose metals, brass, copper, bronze, ceramic, and plastic, stainless steel, steel, wood, titanium and hardened materials. Various types of drill bits are designed for different uses.

Listed below are some types of Drill Bits.

Twist Drill: It drills holes in plastic, metal and wood. This drill is currently produced with a width covering a range from 0.05 millimeters to 100 millimeters while its length is around 1000 millimeters. The most usual twist drill has a tip angle of 118 degrees. This is a proper angle for an extensive array of job. It also has a long series drill for extended length twist drills. It is not advisable to drill deep holes using this twist drill.

Diamond Drill Bit: This particular drill is used in the bathroom for updating or remodeling. It is also used in redesigning your kitchen decoration. Furthermore, it is used on ceramic, glass, tile, limestone, stained glass, marble, fiberglass, porcelain, stone, slate and porcelain tile. When using this drill, the main concern is to obtain water at the edge of the drill bit. Drilling fiberglass may be done with or without water but make sure that the fiberglass has ample amount of water just to get the drill wet.

Indexable Drill Bit: This provides an excellent performance in making short-hole drillings. Stainless steel is drilled 3x in diameter and only a short-hole must be done.

Listed below are some other types of drill bits

• Adjustable Bit: This is built with a changeable cutter blade to bore holes of various sizes. It is also used for drilling gaps for wiring or piping.

• Around-the-corner bit: It is used to cut arched holes that are stretched in corners with a diagonal cutting surface.

• Auger Bits: This drill creates drill holes in wooden materials. The drill ends have a screw head so that the bits may be self fed.

• Brad-point drill: This drill looks almost the same as the usual bits but it has sharpened point to make wood drilling a lot easier. This drill has cleaner holes other than spade bits.

• Counterbore: The drill allows a screw to be driven under the wood outside. The holes that are drilled may be filled with a plug or wire.

• Drill Saw Bit: It is used to cut holes such as wood and metal and can enlarge current holes.

• Countersink: A drill that has an angled tip design that forms a "slump" in the screw head.

• Fly cutter: This one is often used to cut circles in wood and other soft metals. The diameter of circles may be adjusted by changing the cutter blade setting.

• Hole saw: It cut holes from one to six centimeters in diameter and has a center bit for directing the cutting blade edge of the saw.

• Reamer bit: The tapered bit of reamer may be used on existing holes rather than to enlarge holes.

• Screw pilot bit: This beautiful bit is used for drilling body holes. A pilot hole is used along with the countersink.

• Wire Brushes: It use to remove rust and to clean up metal and is available either as a wheel or a cup with wire brush.

• Plastic bit: This is designed with a tip so as to prevent splintering when drilling plastic. It is important to reduce the speed and slowly drill the other side of the plastic.

• Plug cutter: Use this to remove cylindrical shapes from the wood. It covers the screw using a small cylindrical plug.<bio>For more information on Diamond Drill Bits please visit our website.</bio>

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is the most widely recognized form of Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI), but Trigger Finger is catching up fast, becoming all too common among society and affecting the youth and elderly in ever-increasing numbers. If the rising numbers keep on track, Trigger Finger may be recognized along with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome as having achieved epidemic proportions.

Trigger Finger On The Rise

Prior to the 1990's, Trigger Finger seemed to affect a small number of the elderly that had experienced some form of direct trauma or excessive strain to one or possibly several fingers. Trigger Finger was more prevalent in those that were already suffering with Osteoarthritis in the affected hand, making many healthcare professionals to believe that Trigger Finger was a byproduct of Osteoarthritis. But within the past 5-years, the age of those suffering from Trigger Finger became much "younger" while the overall number of individuals with the disorder increased. The belief of a direct correlation between those suffering with Osteoarthritis and Trigger Finger seems to be reducing in popularity as many of those suffering with Trigger Finger do not have Osteoarthritis, but instead, are involved in high-risk tasks that are already associated as the causative factor in many types of Repetitive Strain Injuries.

Injuries resulting from repeated motion (repetitive / cumulative trauma disorders -- CTD's) are growing. According to recent annual statistics from the U.S. Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses, over 302,000 CTD's account for nearly two-thirds all of workplace-related illnesses.

Ergonomic disorders are the fastest growing category of work-related illness. According to the most recent statistics from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, they account for 56 percent of illnesses reported to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Trigger Finger -- Recognized as a Repetitive Strain Injury

Now that Trigger Finger is rearing its head in the workplace with increased intensity, it has been added to the growing list of debilitating Repetitive strain Injuries. Trigger Finger now joins the ranks of Tendonitis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Epicondylitis, Cubital Tunnel Syndrome, DeQuervain's and the many other debilitating workplace disorders affecting the upper extremity. So, what is Trigger Finger, how is it recognized and what are its symptoms?

Trigger Finger Explained

Trigger Finger is a form of overuse injury affecting any of the fingers (1-5) with symptoms ranging from a painless annoyance with occasional snapping/jerking of the finger(s), to severe dysfunction and pain with continuous locking of the finger(s) in a flexed downward / forward position into the palm of the hand.

The occurrence of this injury usually results from overuse of the flexor muscles/tendons and the formation of an adhesion or fibrotic nodule on the tendon. If left untreated, the adhesion/nodule becomes larger, therefore creating a conflicting ratio between the size of the tendon and the size of the entrance of the tendon sheath. In most cases, if the adhesion/nodule is not treated, it can continue to increase in size (Depending on activity/use of the affected finger) to the point where it still has the ability to pass into and through the tendon sheath when flexing the finger, but becomes stuck and cannot move back through the tendon sheath when trying to extend/straighten the finger, thus causing the finger to lock in the flexed forward / downward position.

The Trigger Finger Solution

Because Trigger Finger consists of an adhesion, nodule, and scar tissue buildup on the tendon due to excess strain, overuse, or direct trauma to that specific location on the tendon, it should be treated with stretching and strengthening exercises in order to break down the adhesion on the affected tendon. By breaking down the adhesion on the affected tendon, it reduces in size and slides through the pulley system in a normal manner, no longer "catching" and locking into the downward flexed position. (There is also a "thinning" of the tendon, which helps reduce the overall size of the tendon and nodule, therefore allowing it to pass through the tendon sheath with greater ease.) Creating strength in the opposing finger extensor tendons is very important as it allows the finger to return to an extended position in a more appropriate manner. This is where muscle balancing comes into play. By creating equality of tendon length and strength on both sides of the finger joint, individuals can help prevent the onset of Trigger Finger and/or keep it from re-occurring in the future.

Conservative therapy utilizing stretches and exercises has been highly effective, providing long-term and permanent relief. For those wanting to avoid surgery and for those where surgery was not effective in eliminating the condition, stretch and exercise therapy is the solution to both preventing and rehabilitating the devastating symptoms associated with Trigger finger.
For years, Velobind has been the binding style of choice for organizations that wanted both a professional look and a secure bind. However, understanding your Velobind system can sometimes be a little bit difficult. This article is designed to provide you with some simple tips and tricks for binding documents with a Velobind system.

Here are five things to keep in mind when velobinding.

1. There are actually several different types of Velobind strips available on the market. It is essential to choose the right supplies for your machine since most of them are not cross compatible. The easiest way to determine the type of Velobind supplies that you need is to punch a sheet of paper and count the holes. If there are eleven holes you will need either 11 pin hotknife strips or GBC One Eleven compression binding strips. If you have ten holes you will need GBC Surebind binding strips. If you have six holes then you will need six pin reclosable binding spines and if you have four holes you will need four pin reclosable spines.

2. With all the different types of Velobind systems there is always a finished side of the spine attached to the comb and an unfinished side that is part of the receiving strip. The finished side is designed to go on the front of the book while the receiving strip is designed to go on the back of the book. This helps to provide a more professional look for your velobound documents.

3. Inserting the comb portion of the strip (the one with the pins) through the pages of your document can be made easier by using the edge of a countertop or table. You can simply hang the binding edge of your book over the edge of the table so that you can see a clear path through the holes on the edge of your document. Hold the document firmly in place with one hand and use your other hand to thread the pins through the holes. This is significantly easier than trying to hold the document in the air when trying to insert the velo comb.

4. Velobind binding strips are available in sizes up to three inches thick. This means that these systems offer the ability to bind documents that are thicker than any other type of desktop binding system. However, if you are going to want to bind documents using three inch spines you are going to need a Velobind System Three hot knife binding system. Smaller systems will not bind documents with the larger sized spines.

5. You can actually use your Velobind system to bind hard cover books. You simply need to order custom hard cover cases to use along with your system. These hard cover cases will include a binding case and two adhesive fly leaves. You will bind the fly leaves into your document and then peel off the adhesive backing and adhere the fly leaf into the book.

These are five tips for binding documents with GBC Velobind. Give them a try and see if you can save some time when binding with your Velobind system.

Good luck and happy velobinding. <bio>Jeff McRitchie is the designer and Director of Marketing for http://www.MyBinding.com.
More than 90% of the spiral bound documents that you see on the market are bound with 4:1 pitch colorcoil binding. However, there are actually several different pitches of coil available for spiral binding. Each of these pitches have specific applications for which they are best suited. This article will provide a quick overview of the major different options for spiral coil hole patterns and their applications.

4:1 pitch color coil is the most commonly used pattern for document and presentation binding. This spiral binding hole pattern has four holes per inch and is fully compatible with 6mm pitch supplies (primarily used overseas). Four to one pitch color coil binding is available in sizes from 6mm to 50mm. This type of coil binding is the most commonly available spiral binding option and is designed for use with the majority of the smaller spiral binding machines on the market. This coil binding is easy to work with binding books up to 1 inch thick, however, inserting 4:1 pitch coils on books greater than one inch can be difficult and time consuming.

5:1 pitch coil is the second most commonly used pattern for document and presentation binding. This uses a hole pattern with five holes per inch and is also referred to as 5mm coil binding. The tighter spiral of this coil provides a distinctive look and is preferred by some individuals. One common misconception about 5:1 coil is that it provides a stronger more secure bind than 4:1 coil. This is simply NOT true. The fact that the 5:1 hole pattern places holes closer together than 4:1 makes it easier to tear the pages out on these documents. Still, the tighter spiral binding of the 5:1 pattern provides a distinctive look that some individuals prefer when binding their documents.

3:1 pitch spiral binding is the third most commonly used pattern for document and presentation binding. With three holes per inch, this spiral coil is compatible with both the GBC ProClick and the 3:1 wire binding hole patterns. It is primarily used by individuals who already have a 3:1 punch and wish to add the capability to bind coil documents. However, large auto punches and inline punches for photocopiers are sometimes sold with a 3:1 pitch die. While providing a look similar to its 4:1 counterpart, 3:1 coil binding is slightly easier to insert since it has less holes to spin through.

The three pitches discussed above are the most commonly used pitches for coil binding. However, coil binding can be special ordered in several other unique pitches. For instance, .400 pitch binding is designed for a hole pattern that has 2.5 holes per inch. This pitch of binding is only available in diameters greater than 20mm or 3/4" and is available in sizes up to 56mm or 2.25". However, the filament size of this coil binding is larger than is normally found on other pitches of coil binding, making it more rigid making it easier to insert on larger diameter books. .400 coil is most often used along with a 2:1 pitch wire hole pattern. However, a few companies make specialty dies specifically designed for this pitch of coil binding. <bio>Jeff McRitchie is the designer and Director of Marketing for http://www.MyBinding.com He has written over 100 articles on binding supplies, binding covers, 3-ring binders and more. </bio>

Anytime someone drills concrete, they will reach for what they call a hammer drill. But they could be talking about two totally different tools. So, when you are looking for a cordless hammer drill, you will want to know the differences.

A cordless hammer drill, usually looks like a conventional cordless drill with a three jaw chuck. Usually on the selector knob, you will see a picture of a hammer. Obviously, this is the position you would use for hammering. Cordless hammer drills accomplish hammering via gearing. These tools use a straight shank carbide tip drill bit. When you use these tools, you hear the distinctive whining sound.

These tools are excellent for drilling smaller holes, " is a good top end all though they will do a 3/8" here and there and they do make bits up to 1" to fit these tools but trust me, their best range is " and under. You may use this tool if you only drill masonry once and a while. Many contractors use cordless hammer drills for installing tapcon anchors. But again, if you are setting anchors or need to drill longer or bigger holes, you owe it to yourself to try a cordless rotary hammer drill.

If you go on to any commercial job site, you will see cordless rotary hammer drills in use. While the cordless hammer drill has that distinctive whine, rotary hammers have a lower tone and you can actually hear the bit hammering. Rotary hammers are actually have a pneumatic hammering system, the tool turns slower, but hits much harder than a cordless hammer drill. The bits for this tool are referred to as sds or sds bits. The shank of the bit is about 3/8" of an inch with two dimples and two grooves. You don't chuck them in, you just snap them into the tool.

Like the cordless hammer drill, the cordless rotary hammer does well with the smaller bits. The interesting thing with the smaller bits is that the bits will actually last quite a bit longer as the tool doesn't heat up the carbide because it spins slower. When it comes to drilling holes larger than ", the rotary hammer will blow away the cordless hammer drill. Many of these cordless rotary hammers are rated for up to 1" and thin wall core bits. Some of them can even turn off the rotation and you can insert a chisel. You won't believe how hard these tools can hit!

Now that many of these cordless rotary hammers have gone to lithium, they are going to 36 volts. Talk about a must have these things have great power, run time and are lightweight.

Keep these simple points in mind when deciding what kind of cordless hammer to by. The cordless hammer drill, in my opinion is really just a tool for the smaller holes. Remember that is my opinion based on what I have seen in the trades over the last 15 years. Even if you are just drilling the smaller holes, give a cordless rotary hammer drill a try. You really won't believe how effortlessly they can drill masonry material.<bio>Jeffrey Richard has been selling all types of power tools including hammer drills to the trades for over 15 years.
What's the most insane guitar solo you've ever heard? One by Paul Gilbert? Yngwie? Eddie Van Halen?

If you're going to play an insane solo like the guitar heroes, here's what you need to start getting good at. These guys didn't learn this stuff over night! Let's get that straight up front. Shredding, especially shredding not just up and down scales, takes years to master. Not just that, but these guitar gurus are always pushing their own playing to the limit in their recordings. You can imagine the difficult road you have ahead of you.

32nd Note Legato Runs

At some point during the insane solo, most of our favorite guitarists will play abnormally fast, 32nd note legato runs. This will be the fastest, most impressive point to the "lay person." We guitarists know shredding is much harder, although slower.

It's important to develop legato techniques (all hammer-ons and pull-offs) along your 3-note-per-string scales and Pentatonic Scales. You'll want to skip strings, do amazing finger stretches, and of course, full neck legato runs. Listen to Joe Satriani in particular and you'll hear all kinds of crazy legato sequences.

Finger Tapping

For the most insane solo, add finger tapping, as pioneered by Eddie Van Halen, though brought to a whole new level today. There's 2, 4, 6, and even 8-finger finger tapping. For the most dramatic effect, learn 8-finger finger tapping and not just on the upper register, more like the middle register and upper register combined. Be sure to tap arpeggios as well as be inventive in your note choice. The greatest taps are created with "worldly sound" in mind in my opinion.

Shredding

Get your metronome and start increasing your speed until you can play 16th notes at roughly 200 beats per second. The insane guitarists don't only shred up and down scales at this speed, but also sweep arpeggios and Pentatonics at this speed. Get a book that teaches you all of the arpeggios, not just diad.

Tetrachords

Throw in tetrachord runs. Tetrachords require intense finger stretching. These are essentially 4-note-per-string diatonic scales. Type "tetrachords" into a Google search and there you'll find what you're looking for. Charles Gacsi at WholeNote has a great lesson on the theory behind tetrachords.

Guitar Face

As if it weren't enough just to play an insane solo technically... You need to develop a guitar face worthy of the masters. No simple facial expression will do. You must practice this in the mirror, coming up with an original guitar face.

Tension and Release

Don't be afraid to go outside your comfort zone and experiment. Even by hitting "the wrong notes" you're doing something right. You're creating tension. Use Chromatics to create tension or rip some notes off a bizarre scale for tension. Because it will be released to create a great feeling of contrast in your listener once you begin playing in key again. For the best release, only a simple melody will do. A simple melody repeated on and off within your insane solo will make it a memorable one. <bio>Jason Parker is a guitarist and teacher at http://AtomicGuitarist.com where free guitar lesson videos abound. </bio>
