<content:encoded><![CDATA[An <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/online+dictionary" rel="tag">online dictionary</a> is convenient for many reasons, including the desire to have the access to a complete dictionary set without all of the clutter. Many people use an online dictionary every day and for many purposes. Among them, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/homework" rel="tag">homework</a>, job-related research, legal and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/medical+research" rel="tag">medical research</a>, etc. This article is geared at showing everyone just how useful an online dictionary can be and, even if you don't have the space for a real set, the next best thing is just a click away. <br /><br /> As our children come home from school with tons of books and even more homework, we want to <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/help" rel="tag">help</a> make their learning process as convenient as possible. In order to do that, many parents allow their children to use the internet for the purpose of <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/conducting+research" rel="tag">conducting research</a> with the help of an online dictionary. With it's use, a child's homework will be better prepared and the child will be more <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/knowledgeable" rel="tag">knowledgeable</a> about the subject than if they were to be without the convenience of an online dictionary. <br /><br /> Every day, news stories are covered and articles are written. Many professional writers and journalists turn toward an online dictionary for research purposes. Every writer gets an assignment that he/she is not completely familiar with from time to time, which is why an online dictionary can prove to be very valuable in their work. By familiarizing themselves with a specific term, they will sometimes gain the knowledge that will help to produce a quality read. <br /><br /> Individuals who suffer from undiagnosed <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/medical+problems" rel="tag">medical problems</a>, or simply are concerned with certain symptoms that they may be having, often turn to an online dictionary for answers. Many listings for current known illnesses and diseases are included in every online dictionary, which helps the individual to become more familiar with an ailment and it's symptoms. In some cases, information relating to treatment may also be made available. This approach will create a much more informed patient and one who is active in his/her own medical care. <br /><br /> As a final thought to the many uses of an online dictionary, there are no limits to the reasons that an individual could use one. From research to homework and even medical terminology, the online dictionary is literally like having a complete set of hardback books in your very own hands. That is, without all of the page flipping, paper cuts and heavy lifting. An online dictionary is not only a convenience, but it's nutrition for your brain in a way that knowledge should be. <bio>To find out more about online dictionary, please visit our website at <a href="http://www.best-online-dictionary.info" >http://www.best-online-dictionary.info</a> . <content:encoded><![CDATA[There are many small ways to make your days a little more full and to take every opportunity for learning. As a teacher, I am passionate about seeing people grasp what a privilege and a blessing that learning is. If you are blessed enough to live in a place that allows or better yet encourages you to further your education, then I believe that it is right and good of you to do that. There are many, many ways for you to take learning seriously, but one of the easiest and best ways is to grab a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/dictionary" rel="tag">dictionary</a>. <br /><br /> There are many things <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/i+love" rel="tag">I love</a> about a good dictionary. Being an <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/english+professor" rel="tag">English professor</a>, the connection is obvious. I <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/love+words" rel="tag">love words</a>. I love the power of language for communication. I think it is quite amazing that two people that have never met can sit down and have a conversation and basically understand everything that is being said because they speak the same language. While it is very true that you can speak a language and even learn new words without using a dictionary, think of all there is to learn by using a dictionary. <br /><br /> I gave myself a challenge a few years ago when it came time to make a New Year's resolution. Typically, my <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/resolutions" rel="tag">resolutions</a> had consisted of plans to eat better and workout more, but that year I decided that I would buy a new dictionary and spend a few minutes each day reading it. Sound boring? If so, then you <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/obviously" rel="tag">obviously</a> haven't tried reading from a dictionary. It is actually one of the best decisions I have ever made. I looked forward to my few minutes in the dictionary so much that I began reading it both morning and night. Reading my dictionary daily was by far the easiest resolution to follow. <br /><br /> What I love about reading the dictionary is learning how much I do not know. All I have to do is flip open a page and I am confronted with how much more there is to learn, not just about my language, but about all of life. I read words that I have never heard of and I learn concepts that I didn't even know existed. Reading my dictionary is one of the most humbling and yet thrilling things I've ever done. <br /><br /> So, grab a dictionary. Start the process of learning new words to add to your understanding and vocabulary, but also let your time in a dictionary teach you new and exciting things about the world. <bio>Hallidae Thomason is an English professor who encourages all of her students to read a dictionary daily, even if just a few new words. See <a href="http://www.dictionarytimes.info" >http://www.dictionarytimes.info</a> for more on this great habit. </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[Dictionary.com is a free website that offers a wide range of features. Obviously, the main service is to give definitions to words you look up. When you key in a word, you get a lot of useful information. Different meanings and usages will be presented, together with the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/pronunciation+guide" rel="tag">pronunciation guide</a>. One drawback of this guide is that you have to be familiar with the pronunciation symbols. You can also find out the origins of the word on the same page. More than that, you can find links to other specialized dictionaries which may have the same word. <br /><br /> What I really like about this <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/online+dictionary" rel="tag">online dictionary</a> is that you can search for an idiomatic expression or slang and chances are, you will find it there. It also shows the meanings of different collocations for a particular verb. This way, if you are not really sure what you want, you are able to choose from a wide range of words. <br /><br /> >From the main page, you can access an online bookstore, a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/thesaurus" rel="tag">thesaurus</a>, an encyclopedia, feature articles, puzzles, and a translator. You can even make use of tools such as the <a href="<a href="http://Dictionary.com">http://Dictionary.com</a>"><a href="http://Dictionary.com">http://Dictionary.com</a></a> toolbar. If you need to look up a foreign word, there are links to foreign dictionaries as well. Do you want to <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/improve+your+vocabulary" rel="tag">improve your vocabulary</a>? You can click on the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/word+of+the+day" rel="tag">Word of the Day</a> link and even subscribe to the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/email" rel="tag">email</a> for this feature. Are you a sucker for historical trivia? You can increase your knowledge by subscribing to a "What Happened on this Day?" email. For writers, there are links to writing styles and grammar usage guides. Even if you are not a writer, you will benefit from the simple, straight-forward <a href="<a href="http://Dictionary.com">http://Dictionary.com</a>"><a href="http://Dictionary.com">http://Dictionary.com</a></a> Style Guide. <br /><br /> If you want to hear how a word is pronounced, you have to subscribe to the premium service. Another advantage of this service is ad-free access. No more irritating pop-<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/ups" rel="tag">ups</a> every time you enter a word. You will also have access to color illustrations not available from the free site. The fee is not too high, only about $19.95 per year. Subscriptions are also available on a monthly basis but the rates are a little bit higher. <br /><br /> I haven't tried the premium service but I think that the free service offers enough in terms of features and information. If you use the dictionary very often and you have no idea what the pronunciation symbols mean, then you can opt to shell out a few dollars for premium service. <bio>For more information please visit <a href="http://www.444.net">http://www.444.net.</a>. </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[A writer is sitting at his desk trying to work on an article that is due tomorrow. He knows what he wants to say, but he just can not seem to put it into words. He decides to pull out his trusty thesaurus to try to find the right words to convey his message. The writer finds some words that he thinks will <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/fit+perfectly" rel="tag">fit perfectly</a> into his article, but he is not sure, because they are outside his vocabulary. The writer consults his <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/dictionary" rel="tag">dictionary</a> to make sure that the words he has found actually describe the meaning he is trying to convey. After consulting his most important tools, the writer completes his article, and is very happy with his finished product, and so is his editor. <br /><br /> A dictionary is a great tool for any writer's arsenal that can expand your vocabulary, and help you find the words that you need when you are writing. You <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/definitely" rel="tag">definitely</a> want to pull out your dictionary when you think that a word will fit in your writing, but you are not quite sure about the word's meaning. Also the dictionary can help you see different ways to use a word, or different meanings for the same word. You have to be careful sometimes, because many words have multiple meanings, and readers might be confused about the meaning of the word the writer was trying to use. <br /><br /> A thesaurus is another very important tool for every writer to have on hand when writing. A thesaurus gives <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/synonyms" rel="tag">synonyms</a> for words, which means that it gives you a choice of multiple different words that have a very similar meaning to the word you looked up. This can be very helpful when you are trying to spice up your writing. Every writer can get <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/stuck+in+a+rut" rel="tag">stuck in a rut</a> by using the same words in many of their pieces. A thesaurus will combat this by giving you a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/plethora" rel="tag">plethora</a> of different words to use. Without using a thesaurus your writing will become very dull and redundant. With a dictionary and a thesaurus by your side, you should be able to accomplish any task. <bio>Visit the Dictionary of Words and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/thesaurus+online" rel="tag">Thesaurus Online</a>. <a href="http://www.dictionaryofwords.com/" >http://www.dictionaryofwords.com/</a> </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[In many ways, I have never been much of a student, especially if you are talking about being a student within the confines of a classroom. I've always loved learning, don't get me wrong, but get me inside a classroom for months on end and there is little that can be done to keep me interested in even the most fascinating subjects. I have no real <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/idea" rel="tag">idea</a> how I managed to make it through four years of college. My <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/latin+class" rel="tag">Latin class</a> in particular almost had the power to ruin my <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/college+career" rel="tag">college career</a>. I am convinced that I might have quite school had it not been for my <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/latin+dictionary" rel="tag">Latin dictionary</a>. It saved my education, and hence, my life. <br /><br /> I realize the previous statement may <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/sound+extreme" rel="tag">sound extreme</a>, but it is true. I was so fed up with the stresses of my Latin class in college that I nearly dropped out of school. I <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/guess" rel="tag">guess</a> I didn't have things in the best perspective, but that is how deeply I was being affected by the class. In the sixth week of the fifteen week class I called my father on the phone and finally told him of the truth of my current <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/plight" rel="tag">plight</a>. He simply listened and then laughed at me and muttered two words. andquot;Latin dictionary, andquot; he said. I had no idea how much I needed to hear those two words nor how much they would change my semester and literally the rest of my life. <br /><br /> I have absolutely no idea why my Latin professor didn't suggest that I buy a Latin dictionary. I'm actually a little bitter about it now that I think about it. Anyway, I rushed off to a bookstore the next day and purchased the cheapest and biggest Latin dictionary I could find. I had little money, but I felt like bigger must be better when it came to a dictionary. <br /><br /> Over the days and weeks ahead, I poured over that dictionary as I studied for my Latin class. Having that resource taught me an amazing amount that I just wasn't getting in the classroom. I pulled my grade up from a failing score to a B in the remaining weeks of the class. But that's not all that happened: I had a renewed love of learning. Yes, the Latin dictionary was responsible for my pursuit of learning and of new knowledge in many areas. It did little to make me enjoy time in a classroom, but it did inspire me to pursue many of the things I now love. <bio>Martin Stoleman is a writer that credits his college diploma and many other things to his Latin dictionary. Between 1995 and 1999, the principles of the layout, guestbook, forms for contributions, and other basic concepts of the service were developed by Jung and his team, and the vocabulary of the Leo German-English Dictionary grew from a very minuscule number of entries to 170,000 words within this period. <br /><br /> In 2004, the entries count more than 400,000 (symmetrical) entries, equivalent to more than 800,000 conventional <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/dictionary+entries" rel="tag">dictionary entries</a>. And by the year 2000, the dictionary broke a record of 5,000,000 online queries from users, growing to 5.6 million queries by 2005. <br /><br /> The Leo German English Dictionary and Mobiles: <br /><br /> Besides the online Leo German-English Dictionary, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/dictionary+queries" rel="tag">dictionary queries</a> using Short Messaging Service (SMS) was also made available in 2003 in collaboration with burdawireless-GmbH. Not only that, it was also now possible to view the dictionary's software "dictQuery" (the dictQuery server was installed in 2000) on mobile phones and similar display devices. Then in 2004, a small-screen version of the Leo German-English Dictionary was made available on 'pda.leo.org', for users who use handheld devices to access the LEO service. <br /><br /> dictQuery and Lion: <br /><br /> The Leo German-English <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/dictionary+software" rel="tag">Dictionary software</a>, dictQuery, was full redeveloped in 2005, with new features such as new design, all services located under the same URL, standardized linking of active and archived forum articles, navigation bar, and other improved solutions. On the other hand, the latest version of Lion software, designed for easy exchange of words with their translations between Windows applications and LEO dictionaries, came out in 2006. Lion is made available download as shareware, or for online purchase. It now supports all LEO dictionaries, including the Leo German-English Dictionary, and words in MS Office documents can now be replaced with translations suggested in the results table using Lion. <br /><br /> Features: <br /><br /> The LEO German-English dictionaries are not available on CD or in print, or for download. <content:encoded><![CDATA[The summer after I graduated from college I had the unique opportunity to travel to France with my <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/roommates" rel="tag">roommates</a> and friends. A group of six of us left for France on the cheapest flight we could find the morning after graduation. We had plans to stay for the entire summer and just see what unfolded. None of us had jobs lined up or anything to rush back to, so we just took things in stride and determined to have the adventure of a lifetime. We learned quickly, however, that forgetting a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/french+dictionary" rel="tag">French dictionary</a> was not the best way to start a great summer. <br /><br /> We talked briefly about what we should bring on our <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/journey" rel="tag">journey</a> to France, and I even remember hearing one of the guys mention that we would do well to remember a French dictionary since none of us spoke a word of French. I thought that advice was <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/wise" rel="tag">wise</a>, but I never thought to bring a French dictionary myself. I was convinced that one of the more organized and responsible guys would surely remember to bring such a valuable tool for our survival. <br /><br /> I was wrong. Not one guy out of the six of us thought to bring a French dictionary with us on our journey. We realized this on the eight hour flight to <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/paris" rel="tag">Paris</a> from our hometown of Chicago. We laughed about our mistake at first with sighs that we would just figure our way around and that we would be fine. <br /><br /> Landing in Paris we quickly learned that it would have been wise to include a French dictionary in our packing. We learned that while many <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/french+people" rel="tag">French people</a> speak and understand English, far fewer of them are willing to <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/help" rel="tag">help</a> lazy Americans who haven't taken the time to learn any of their language. So we were stuck in a country that mostly spoke English but that wasn't willing to help us get around their land. <br /><br /> We made it through what turned into a four month journey through most of France. We talked about leaving the country to explore nearby Italy or Spain, but we decided to remain in France and focus all of our time and energy on exploring this country in a more detailed way. We picked up small bits of French as we went along, but most of our weeks were spent struggling to make it from town to town on nothing but our English. A French dictionary sure would have been nice. <br /><br /> The moral of my story: bring a French dictionary the next time you visit France. Or better yet, bring a dictionary to any country you visit that doesn't speak your language. <bio>Triston Huntsmin has lived for years with the regret of not bringing a French dictionary on his first trip to France. He has since become fluent, however, and even lived in Paris for nearly ten years. See <a href="http://www.aboutfrenchdictionary.info">http://www.aboutfrenchdictionary.info</a> for more. </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[Dictionaries play an important part in one's education. If you are learning a new language, after your teacher, it is the printed dictionaries that can help you a lot. In today's modern world our lives are governed by technology. So with the help of technology you can get an <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/electronic+dictionary" rel="tag">electronic dictionary</a> online.<br><br>You can get different types of printed dictionaries. These include <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/monolingual+dictionaries" rel="tag">monolingual dictionaries</a> as well as bilingual printed dictionaries. <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/bilingual+dictionaries" rel="tag">Bilingual dictionaries</a> are those where the meaning is given in the same language as well as some other language. For example you can find printed dictionary giving you the meaning of the word from English to English and some other language such as German.<br><br>There are many varieties of printed dictionaries available. You can also get picture dictionary for the beginners. At the very beginning of your learning process, the printed dictionary comes in handy. You can also view the picture in front of you. There are printed dictionaries especially compiled for learners. These learner's dictionaries not only give the meaning of the word, they also show how to use that particular word.<br><br>There is always a debate going on between the use of printed dictionaries and the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/electronic+dictionaries" rel="tag">electronic dictionaries</a>. If the speed is the main criteria, then electronic dictionaries win hands down but if the teacher guides the students to properly use the printed dictionary the student can learn much more than just the new word.<br><br>Printed dictionaries make it easy for the students to look up the meaning. So when they go in for <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/advance+studies" rel="tag">advance studies</a> they can easily look up encyclopaedia, the glossary etc. They can learn the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/intrinsic+beauty" rel="tag">intrinsic beauty</a> of the language. Sometimes in order to translate something from one language to the other, bilingual printed dictionaries are required and these play an important part. But it is always best to remember that each language is unique and it is very difficult to find exact word from the other language. Sometimes the real meaning is lost in the translation!<br><br>For the students of languages, it is always better to use printed dictionaries. The use of printed dictionaries not only makes them proficient in looking up the word in alphabetical manner they also learn how to use the word. They can learn many similar words. So the meaning of the text becomes clear to the student. It encourages the student to use the other language fluently.<br><br>There is always a difference of opinion between the use of monolingual and bilingual printed dictionaries. Each type of dictionary has its advantages and disadvantages. It is always better to make use of both types of printed dictionaries. The monolingual dictionary makes the user aware of the meaning of a particular word and it helps by giving different connotations of the same word. It also builds up vocabulary of the student. The increased vocabulary in turn makes the learner more comfortable in another language. The bilingual printed dictionary may help the learner to understand the meaning in his/her own mother tongue. Some people argue that it makes much more sense to know the exact word in your mother tongue.<bio>Miles Lovegrove is director of Fluid Branding, the UK's largest supplier of <a href='http://www.fluidbranding.com/products/dictionaries.html'> printed dictionaries</a> and other <a href='http://www.fluidbranding.com/'>Promotional Products</a> at www.fluidbranding.com. <content:encoded><![CDATA[I have a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/job" rel="tag">job</a> that requires me to be at the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/computer" rel="tag">computer</a> all day and quite often using the internet. <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/i+love" rel="tag">I love</a> my job (except for having to sit down all day) because I am constantly amazed by the world that the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/internet+opens" rel="tag">internet opens</a> up to me. I cannot believe how much there is to be learned and explored through the internet. There are literally <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/endless+possibilities" rel="tag">endless possibilities</a> of pages to search and topics to learn about online. I love that I can be writing about almost anything and do a search for any word or phrase or idea that I'm curious about. Within seconds hundreds of thousands of websites pop up that match the very thing I am curious about. <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/online+dictionaries" rel="tag">Online dictionaries</a> have become some of my favorite things during this process. <br /><br /> Ever since I was a little kid I have loved dictionaries. I have owned a dictionary since elementary school and I love randomly flipping through the pages to see if I can learn a new word and a new definition. I never imagined that I would have access to as many dictionaries as I wanted when I began working online. I cannot tell you what a great day it was when I discovered the blessing that online dictionaries are for people like me who need words or their definitions fast. <br /><br /> If I have learned one thing about the internet in my years of using it for work, it has been that the internet has the potential to be used for good or for bad. There are countless numbers of websites that contain nothing but useless trash, yet there are another host of websites that contain so much worth while and worthy information. Online dictionaries are some of the noble things contained on the internet that actually have value for people. <br /><br /> The great thing about online dictionaries is that you can look up a word or its meaning almost instantly. You do not need to move away from your computer or stop what you are doing. There is no need to leave your desk and find an old dictionary laying around the house or office. An <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/online+dictionary" rel="tag">online dictionary</a> is just a click away. <br /><br /> Another thing I have grown to love about online dictionaries is that they are filled with all of the lastest information and with all the terms of our modern age. Any kind of computer or techonology term is sure to be found in online dictionaries. This is really handy. So the next time you are online and you get curious about a word or a definition, don't fret, just click on to an online dictionary and learn all you want to know. <bio>Martin Stoleman loves being a researcher and writer for a popular magazine. <content:encoded><![CDATA[ The German language possesses words that sound similar, if not, almost to the words of the English language. As a general rule, studying and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/speaking+german" rel="tag">speaking German</a> together with <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/native+german+speakers" rel="tag">native German speakers</a> can be enhanced when you have a convenient English-German dictionary in tow. This way, you'd know that you wouldn't run out of words the moment you speak it, a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/handy+dictionary" rel="tag">handy dictionary</a> can help you a lot in selecting and using the German word whichever situation you're in at the moment. <br /><br /> But don't rest your luck on just <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/handy+dictionaries" rel="tag">handy dictionaries</a>. They aren't going to save your neck all the time. Sometimes, your effort and time spent studying and reviewing for German grammar and vocabulary does pay off twice compared to just referring everything to a dictionary. As a student of a foreign language, you always need to <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/remember+that+there" rel="tag">remember that there</a> are certain elements to mastering a foreign language. <br /><br /> If you think that it's going to take you years before you'd be able to master the German language, then, you are right. People who have acquired to <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/learn+a+foreign+language" rel="tag">learn a foreign language</a> as their second have been exposed to local German speakers for a number of years with continuous studies in grammar and vocabulary. Doesn't sound easy, don't it? But when you find yourself progressing on this subject and when you can actually feel that you are enjoying every minute of studying and speaking German, then you can say that you the German language isn't difficult to learn at all. <br /><br /> It is not obviously. Just think of it this way, you go through the same process when you try to learn other foreign languages, so there isn't any much of difference, really. Once you start speaking German like it's your mother tongue, don't just stick to what you have learned previously. There are still more room for improvement. Take advantage of the learning materials you can easily get from online sources, books, magazines and native speaking German friends. <bio>Shareen Aguilar is a writer for <a href="http://learn-german-program.com" >http://learn-german-program.com</a> which has Memory Improvement Books and Memory Game Software for better German language memorization. </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[Maintaining a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/secure+computer" rel="tag">secure computer</a> is a good defense against becoming a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/victim+of+identity+theft" rel="tag">victim of Identity Theft</a>. Use a secure password. By secure, I mean a password that is not easily guessable, such as a word you may find in the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/dictionary" rel="tag">dictionary</a>. These types of passwords can be found by someone using what is known as a and<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/quot" rel="tag">quot</a>;dictionary attackandquot; This type of attack involves using the words that are found in the dictionary and comparing those to a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hash" rel="tag">hash</a> that has been generated by the Operating System. If the attack <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/match" rel="tag">match</a>es the hashes, then the password has been compromised. Don't use birthdays or Social Security Numbers as well. It has been recommended that your password be at least 8 characters long, including small and capital letters, numbers, and special characters. <br /><br /> A password like andquot;alphabetandquot; can easily be compromised. If you were to change it up a little by making every other letter a capital, andquot;AlPhAbEtandquot;, this will improve the security. You can then take it a step further and replace the andquot;Eandquot; with the number andquot;3andquot;, so then your password looks like andquot;AlPhAb3tandquot;. Then take the andquot;landquot; and change it to the number andquot;1andquot; or even the andquot;!andquot;. So now the password looks like andquot;A!PhAb3tandquot;. It will take a super computer an extremely long time to break this password. <br /><br /> At this point the attacker would have to use a method known as andquot;<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/brute" rel="tag">brute</a> forceandquot;. That means the attacker is taking every possible combination of numbers and letters and special characters and creating a hash to try and match the hash stored by the computer. <br /><br /> To prevent yourself from being subjected to a andquot;brute forceandquot; attack, you can set up a security policy that will disable the account after a certain number of unsuccessful attempts. <br /><br /> To further prevent yourself from being compromised since there are programs that can download the hashes stored in your computer, you may want to set some kind of time limit for your passwords. A good example would be that the password would have to be changed every 90 days, and the same password can't be used within a 180 period. This will help ensure that if someone did get the hash of your password, that by the time it is compromised, it would be an obsolete password. <br /><br /> Try to check your logs to see if there have been any attempts on the password. This will certainly let you know if someone is looking at your computer in order to compromise the data that is stored on it. <br /><br /> By maintaining a secure password, you are ensuring that your private information will remain private. <bio>Founder of <a href="http://www.whoelseisme.com" >http://www.whoelseisme.com</a>, the site was createdin order to help people not only recover from Identity Theft, but to prevent Identity Theft from happening to them. </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Is it worth the extra money to purchase an elecgtronic dictionary with sound? <br /><br /> The following comments have specific reference to learning Spanish but I believe they are relevant to the learning of other languages as well. <br /><br /> Some people (curiously and unfortunately, not all) who learn a new language are interested in achieving a good accent in their new language. Nevertheless, it is not well known that there are three components of the accent of a given language: the rhythm or intonation (the music) of the language, the links between the sounds, syllables, and words in an utterance, and lastly, the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/proper+pronunciation" rel="tag">proper pronunciation</a> of the sounds of the language. The lesson here is that the formation of the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/vowels+and+consonants" rel="tag">vowels and consonants</a> of a language is only part of the task of learning that language. However, it is where most learners begin. Let's look at the place of the pronunciation of the vowels and consonants of Spanish. <br /><br /> Many <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/language+experts" rel="tag">language experts</a> believe that the intonation and linkage contribute more to speaking like a native than does the proper pronunciation of all the sounds. This can be seen in the manner in which the people of San Jos=E9, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/cost+rica" rel="tag">Cost Rica</a> pronounce the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/spanish+letter" rel="tag">Spanish letter</a> "ere". For some strange reason, which I have not been able, to track down historically or linguistically, they pronounce the word "arroz" just like a Gringo would. Their double "r" is not trilled as in most <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/spanish+speaking+countries" rel="tag">Spanish speaking countries</a>; it is not velar as it is in much of Puerto Rico. It is pronounced just as an untrained American would pronounce it. Yet, the person hearing this "error" has no doubt that the persons speaking are <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/native+speakers" rel="tag">native speakers</a> of Spanish. The flow of their speech is perfect and the listener just thinks, "I wonder why they pronounce that word that way=85" In other words, often the pronunciation of the sounds is the least important element of speaking well. <br /><br /> Yet pronunciation is the place where the learner should begin. Habits of bad pronunciation once ingrained become automatic and are hard to eliminate, while errors of intonation and linkage can more easily be consciously detected and corrected in later stages of the learning process. <br /><br /> The person learning Spanish has one advantage over the person learning another language. The advantage is that most the vowels and consonants of Spanish are close to those of English, and their pronunciation is perfectly regular. <br /><br /> First of all, the vowels sounds represented by the 5 letters, a, e, i, and u, have five sounds. That's right, five! It is not like the case of the many English vowel sounds represented by the same letters, such as rough, cough, though, and through, or the case of the same sound represented by different letters in the words, ache, weigh, pay, hey, jail, and tape. <br /><br /> The major difference is that the vowel sounds in Spanish are pure; they do not have the little "tail' that English vowels have. <br /><br /> The consonant sounds in Spanish are largely similar to those of English. This does not mean that they are all the same! There are differences with the "l", "b" and "d" sounds. The main difference with some consonants in Spanish is that they are not "aspirated", that is they are not made with a puff of air, as are those of English. If you put the back of your hand in front of your mouth when you say "Papa" or "tonto" in Spanish you should not feel the same movement of air that you feel when you say "Pope" or "tent" in English. <br /><br /> These differences are real but fairly manageable by the learner who wants to start off right in Spanish. Once the differences are known they can be worked on. For example, it is relatively easy to leave off the English glide at the end of the Spanish vowels. <br /><br /> Progress can be made with written descriptions of the Spanish sounds. The sounds can be described by comparing them with close English words. And the ear can be trained by listening to native speakers. There are many speech samples on the Internet and most large cities in the United States have at least one Television channel transmitting in Spanish. <br /><br /> All of the above has the purpose of leading into the issue of the value of a "talking" dictionary. Many people who want to learn Spanish think that they need a talking dictionary. Often the learner thinks that this will provide an advantage in learning the language. However, it is a mistake to invest in a talking dictionary. The very best are very expensive and most of them, even the most expensive, have such small speakers that it is impossible to hear the fine points of the pronunciation of Spanish. <br /><br /> The learner very soon knows how to pronounce Spanish since the rules are 100% regular. What is need is the effort to actually pronounce the sounds. Many learners are ashamed of imitating the sounds of the language they are learning and they speak the new language with the same intonation, linkage, and pronunciation of their own native language. <br /><br /> The end result of the learner's pronunciation (as of his or her overall accent) will be the result of his or her own ability and of the effort expended. The talking dictionary does not contribute anything to the equation. A good electronic Dictionary such as the Oxford Spanish English Dictionary, found at www.LeerEsPoder.com/dicOxford.htm , will be all the learner needs. <bio>Frank Gerace has taught in Latinamerica and now teaches English in New York City. He provides resources on accent reduction and the proper American English accent at <a href="http://www.GoodAccent.com" >http://www.GoodAccent.com</a>. <content:encoded><![CDATA[There have been several articles recently discussing the strong possibility that the term "Google" will make it into the 11th edition of the Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary as a verb. In June 2006, the term "Google" appeared for the first time in a dictionary; the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/oxford+english+dictionary" rel="tag">Oxford English Dictionary</a> included the word in its web site dictionary. It is a common experience to walk down the street or walk into a room and hear someone state, "why don't you Google this or that"? In many cases the person is not even referring to the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/search+engine+google" rel="tag">search engine Google</a>, but rather any search engine or web directory, such as MSN, Yahoo, or Ask. The use of the term seems to dilute the trademark that Google has federally registered and has been granted protection under the trademark laws. The Google trademark can be found on the United States Patent and Trademark Office's web site at: <a href="http://tess2.<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/uspto" rel="tag">uspto</a>.gov/bin/showfield?f=docandstate=27f2e7.2.9" >http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=docandstate=27f2e7.2.9</a>. The use of the term infers that Google is the only search engine that matter any longer. This is certainly not true where MSN and Yahoo hold a combined 36% share in the market place. <br /><br /> The proposed definition of the term in Webster's dictionary is: "to use the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/google+search+engine" rel="tag">Google search engine</a> to obtain information on the Internet". Has the term "Google" become so commonly used in our everyday vernacular that it should appear in the dictionary. There is a potential legal issue at stake if such a word, which is protected as a word mark under trademark law, is allowed into the dictionary. There is a strong likelihood that the use of the term may cause a probable detrimental effect on the Google Inc's trademark protection. If the term is accepted as a verb it could result in businesses using the word "Google" to market their own products, thus potentially diminishing the Google brand name. <br /><br /> Based on the trademark, Google is defined as a word mark for the as applied to the following goods and services: Telecommunication services; data transmission and reception services via telecommunication means; electronic exchange of voice, data, and graphics accessible via computer and telecommunication networks; providing multiple-user access to a global computer information network; internet cafe services, namely, providing telecommunications connections to the internet in a cafe environment; bulletin board and discussion group services; electronic mail services; workgroup communications services over computer networks; instant messaging services; voice over ip services; computer communication services; wireless communication services; mobile phone communication services. The first use of the term in commerce was on February 12th, 2001. <br /><br /> The legal significance of a trademark: <br /><br /> The reason that trademark protection is so important is to prevent others from using creative and distinct words, logos or slogans in the use of selling a product or service, which the creator has worked hard to attach an immediate connection in a consumer's mind between the word mark and the company's product. For all intense and purposes, this gives a monopoly to the trademark holder on the exclusive use of the word mark as it applies to the industry that is associated with the mark. In this case, there are hundreds if not thousands of search engines on the Internet, and many of these, such as Yahoo have similarly distinctive names, yet those names are not used in everyday speech. There is the chance that when someone hears the term "Google this product", they will start to think of the suggestion as going to any search engine, and not associate the highly relevant search results that are associated with Google, but simply any search engine, regardless of popularity. Moreover, Google has national and even international recognition for its online service; any use of the term can diminish the power of that brand recognition. <br /><br /> This is a case their will very likely be some form of trademark dilution. Google may fall short of having a case for trademark infringement. However, Google's may be able to bring an action for trademark dilution under either federal or state law. Under federal law, a dilution claim can be brought only if the mark is "famous." In deciding whether a mark is famous, the courts will look to the following factors: (1) the degree of inherent or acquired distinctiveness; (2) the duration and extent of use; (3) the amount of advertising and publicity; (4) the geographic extent of the market; (5) the channels of trade; (6) the degree of recognition in trading areas; (7) any use of similar marks by third parties; (8) whether the mark is registered. 15 U.S.C. § 1125(c). Kodak, Exxon, and Xerox are all examples of famous marks. There can be no doubt that the term "Google is famous, for it were not famous than there would be no reason to add the term to the dictionary. It seems likely that Google would not want it's brand, which it has worked so hard to build and maintain. <bio>This article was written by Michael Goldstein, Esq. of the Law Office of Goldstein and Clegg. <br /><br /> For further information and tips, visit our site at <a href="http://www.whoelseisme.com" >http://www.whoelseisme.com</a> <bio>Founder of <a href="http://www.whoelseisme.com" >http://www.whoelseisme.com</a>, the site was createdin order to help people not only recover from Identity Theft, but to prevent Identity Theft from happening to them. </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ In studying French, there has to be a scale you need to follow, sources you need to continually use as daily aid. There are gazillions of <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/french+sources" rel="tag">French sources</a> you can take advantage of in the Internet alone; we're not even talking about books, magazines, educational T.V shows etc. <br /><br /> So you see; there isn't just any reason at all for you not to learn the French language in this day and age. Let's set aside first the "infinite" sources you can use from the Internet to learn French. The fact alone that sparing a few minutes of your day to learn French words from the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/french+grammar" rel="tag">French grammar</a> and vocabulary is already an exceptional help for someone beginning this study. It's more than a help already since a few minutes of French lessons daily doesn't even put pressure on you or your brain which means the chance of getting bored is slim. Also, the worry of forcing yourself to absorb French lessons isn't likely going to happen due to the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/short+sessions" rel="tag">short sessions</a>. <br /><br /> Aside from this, the fact that materials like books, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/french+magazines" rel="tag">French magazines</a> and newspapers are just everywhere; it's apparently another good reason why you shouldn't stop yourself from learning how to speak, read and write bonjour, oui, and merci. These materials make great practice tools because of how accessible they are to almost everyone. When you have the time and opportunity to read any authentic <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/french+material" rel="tag">French material</a>, this simple hobby can be of plus points for you. <br /><br /> After you have gotten used to your daily few minutes French routine and reading from French papers (no matter how unsure you are of the things that you read); you can now purchase a nifty English-French dictionary (choose a good and reliable dictionary in this case) which is going to be great in providing you instant answers to French words that will confuse you. <bio>Shareen Aguilar is a writer for <a href="http://learn-french-program.com" >http://learn-french-program.com</a> which has Memory Improvement Books and Memory Game Software for better French language memorization. </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/passwords" rel="tag">Passwords</a> <br /><br /> It all starts with a strong password. We all have more passwords we care to have. It might sound simplistic, but strong passwords are a must for good security. Strong passwords to your web, ftp, and data servers are the easiest first step toward a secure web presence. <br /><br /> What Makes A Strong Password? <br /><br /> =B7A three-character password is much weaker than a six or eight character password. A good rule of thumb is never to use password shorter than eight characters. <br /><br /> =B7In no way should you use the default password <br /><br /> =B7Never make a word found in a dictionary your password. One of the most common methods to break into systems is to run scripts that try using <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/dictionary+words" rel="tag"><a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/dictionary+word" rel="tag">dictionary word</a>s</a> to <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/guess" rel="tag">guess</a> your password. The less your password looks like a dictionary word, the less likely will someone guess what it is. <br /><br /> =B7Include numbers and special characters <br /><br /> =B7Avoid repeated numbers, characters or sequences such as <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/12345678" rel="tag">12345678</a>, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/bbbbbbbb" rel="tag">bbbbbbbb</a>, or <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/33333333" rel="tag">33333333</a> <br /><br /> =B7Never use the user name, or any combination of it, as your password. Don't use your domain name as your password either. <br /><br /> =B7Don't use look alike substitutions like "4ufromme", or n0t@home" <br /><br /> =B7Use the entire keyboard, and try to use the less common keys <br /><br /> =B7Use different passwords for different accounts. If you use the same password for all of your accounts, you may find multiple of your accounts compromised simultaneously. <br /><br /> =B7Never, ever use a blank password. <br /><br /> Examples of strong passwords are: <br /><br /> A combination of several words that aren't themselves a word interspersed with special characters (e.g., !4scOrEandsDayNYeaRs_ag0) <br /><br /> A word with digits of a memorable date sprinkled inside it (e.g., vacation -> 0vac2a0t9io19ln99) <br /><br /> Keep Your Passwords Safe <br /><br /> Ideally, you would never write down your passwords, but it is becoming difficult to do with so many accounts. If you have to write them down, keep them locked in a safe or some other secure environment. Passwords on Post It notes are a recipe for disaster. Don't do it! <br /><br /> Don't share your passwords with other, not even friends or family members. If someone has to use one of your accounts, log them in instead of sharing your password. Don't give out your password over the phone unless you have initiated the phone call. For example, you may receive a phone call from your Internet Service Provider asking for your password. Ask for their phone number, cal them back, then give out your password. Telephone conversations are not considered secure. Neither are online chat, email, or instant messaging. <br /><br /> Change your passwords regularly. A new password every 45 days is a good practice. Having the same passwords for years is a weak security practice. Set yourself reminders in your calendar. Make it a routine procedure. You'll see that after a few months, it becomes a habit. <br /><br /> Avoid typing your password on public computers. Unfortunately, many public computers have been compromised, making their users vulnerable for malicious keystroke logging scripts. <bio>George Meszaros with <a href="http://www.triumphontheweb.com" >http://www.triumphontheweb.com</a> </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[Are you strapped for cash? Bored out of your mind? Tired of watching meaningless TV shows? Here are some ideas for you that don't cost as much money as going out on the town. <br /><br /> Have people over <br /><br /> You can organize any kind of get together that you want: you can have a few girls over for tea, or you can have a bigger party (but remember to tell guests to BYOB!). For the price of a few bags of chips and some pop, you can have a great night. <br /><br /> Theme nights <br /><br /> Theme nights can be a lot of fun. Have girls' night where you all paint your nails and do pedicures. Everyone can bring their stuff, and you can all mix and choose. <br /><br /> If you have kids, you can organize a scavenger hunt. It can be fun and simple. <br /><br /> Play Games <br /><br /> You can play <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/balderdash" rel="tag">Balderdash</a> or <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/scattergories" rel="tag">Scattergories</a> with materials that you probably have around the house. For Balderdash, simply take a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/dictionary" rel="tag">dictionary</a> and have one person find a really hard word. Everyone invents a definition of the word and writes it down (the person with the dictionary copies the word down too). Then, when the person with the dictionary reads it aloud, everyone has to guess which the correct definition is. You get one point every time someone guesses your wrong answer, and you get one point for every answer you guess correctly. <br /><br /> For Scattergories, simply write the alphabet down the side of a piece of a paper. Agree on a time limit. An easy way to do this is to put on a CD and use the length of one song as the timer. Then you choose a category and have to list items in that category for each letter that you can. You get one point for each original answer you have (as in, an answer nobody else has). You get two points for alliterative answers. For instance, if the category was Boy Bands and you choose "Herman's Hermits," you get two points. Some good categories include cities in a particular state, things that rhyme with "late," one word movie titles, actors in movies with <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/julia+roberts" rel="tag">Julia Roberts</a>, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/famous+painters" rel="tag">famous painters</a>, rappers, or whatever you choose. <br /><br /> Organize a swap <br /><br /> You've watched every movie that you own. So organize to swap other people's movies. If you always trade, then you'll never lose your movies. You can even keep track of who has what, and write your name on your movies that you lend out. <br /><br /> You can also organize a clothing swap, which is when your friends bring together the clothes that they don't want anymore and put them all in a pile. You can find new clothes and get rid of your old ones. The ones that nobody wants you can take to the St. Vincent de Paul. <br /><br /> Stretch your Creativity <br /><br /> Challenge yourself to do something that you have never done before. Write a sonnet; sketch a picture. You'll be surprised at what interest you. <br /><br /> Go to the Park <br /><br /> Okay, this one isn't really staying at home, but it's always a nice way to get out and have fun. <bio>If you are a student on a budget, you can find out about your options for student loans from an impartial information provider: <a href="http://www.theguideto-studentloans.com/budgeting/" >http://www.theguideto-studentloans.com/budgeting/</a>. <content:encoded><![CDATA[Who are the Cajuns and What is the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/cajun+french+language" rel="tag">Cajun French Language</a>? <br /><br /> Cajuns are an ethnic group in the U.S. state of Louisiana, whose ancestors were exiled from the former French colony known as Acadia (now a part of the Maritime <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/provinces+of+canada" rel="tag">provinces of Canada</a> and in Maine), in 1755, during the catholic ethnic cleansing campaign, known as the Great Expulsion, initiated by British Crown. The term "Cajun" is derived from the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/english+pronunciation" rel="tag">English pronunciation</a> of the French word "Acadien". <br /><br /> Cajun French language is a dialect of French spoken by this ethnic group, with traces of influences from Quebec French, Haitian Creole, European French, and Haitian French. Cajun French language is distinct, mainly in fields of pronunciation and vocabulary, from <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/parisian" rel="tag">Parisian</a> or Metropolitan French. <br /><br /> The First Cajun French <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/language+dictionary" rel="tag">Language Dictionary</a> <br /><br /> "A <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/dictionary+of+the+cajun+language" rel="tag">Dictionary of the Cajun Language</a>", the first Cajun French language dictionary was published in 1984 by Father Jules O. Daigle. It is not exhaustive or comprehensive, and omits certain alternate spellings and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/synonyms" rel="tag">synonyms</a> considered to be "perversions" by the author. However, it remains to be popular among Cajun speakers and writers, and is commonly considered to be the authority on the Cajun French language. <br /><br /> Where is Cajun French Language Used? <br /><br /> The primary region where Cajun French is spoken is called "Acadiana", which differs from "Acadia" where Acadian French is spoken. In the United States, Cajun French is mainly spoken in the state of Louisiana, particularly in regions such as Lafayette Parish, St. Landry Parish, Terrebonne Parish, St. Mary Parish, Assumption Parish, St. Martin Parish, Evangeline Parish, Vermilion Parish, Lafourche Parish, and Iberia Parish. <br /><br /> The number of Cajun French language speakers has significantly decreased in recent years, and its survival has been questioned a number of times. This is mainly because majority of the Cajun French speakers live in an English-speaking nation, are bilingual, and are encouraged by parents to use English. However, there have been some attempts to revive the diminishing language by certain organizations such as the Council for the Development of French in Louisiana (CODOFIL). <br /><br /> Some of the Main Differences between Standard and Cajun French: <br /><br /> • In Cajun French language, almost all past tense constructions are made using the verb avoir (to have). Standard French, on the other hand, has important verbs whose compound past tense is made using κtre (to be). <br /><br /> • "Nous Parlons" in standard French is always "On Parle" in Cajun French. <br /><br /> • Pronunciations not similar with standard French: 1) /a/ is pronounced with tongue towards the back of the mouth, sounding more like /and#593;/. 2) /d/ is pronounced /and#676;/ (before /i/). 3) /k/ pronounced /and#679;/ before /a/. 4) /t/ is also pronounced /and#679;/ before/i/. 5) /r/ is pronounced as an alveolar trill or flap and not the uvular fricative of standard French, and is omitted at the end of a syllable. 6) /wa/ pronounced /we/, and also often more like /and#596;/, with a bit of an offglide towards /u/. <bio>Speaking french is actuallyl dubbed one of the hardest language however it's also one of the nicest sounding language. <content:encoded><![CDATA[The first idea that comes to my mind when I think of American culture is uniqueness. Our culture is drastically different from so many others around the globe and those differences (some good and some bad) are what make our unique country what it is.<br><br>Culture is defined by The <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/american+heritage" rel="tag">American Heritage</a> New Dictionary of Cultural Literacy, Third edition as "The sum of attitudes, customs, and beliefs that distinguishes one group of people from another. Culture is transmitted, through language, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/material+objects" rel="tag">material objects</a>, ritual, institutions, and art, from one generation to the next." American cultural traits are vast because of the diversity of its population. Key American cultural traits are outlined in the textbook Global Issues and Change by B. Johnson and J.S. Johnson they are listed as 1) Freedom, 2) Individualism, 3) Self-Reliance, 4) Achievement and 5) Pragmatism. All five of these characteristics have played an important role in the shaping of the American culture but the one that stands out the most is freedom. Without freedom none of the other characteristics would have developed. Freedom is what has made the entire American experience possible. The individualist idea developed as a result of the larger goal of freedom, they are <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/offshoots" rel="tag">offshoots</a> of each other. Individualism requires a freedom of the individual, which was not possible under <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/colonial+rule" rel="tag">colonial rule</a> where England took precedence over the individual. Furthermore self-reliance, achievement and pragmatism all were made possible by America's freedom.<br><br>Progress is what always has and continues to drive America both in business and its citizen's personal life. We are always looking for ways to improve a product, or develop a new one and similarly are always looking to improve our lives. Optimism permeates American culture, and is the motivating force for so many looking to improve their lives. A <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/fundamental+core" rel="tag">fundamental core</a> to the American dream is that anyone, from anywhere, can be anything they want to be if they work hard and have the motivation to accomplish the tasks needed to reach their goals. America historically is a nation of progress, with its humble beginnings in The American Revolution it has developed through the colonial period, into the frontier days, to the industrial revolution and into modern times. We have constantly moved steadily higher as a civilization and have always overcome any obstacle placed in our path (Great Depression for example). Progress always has been and always will be a part of the American character. As we continue to progress into a world economy which continues to become increasingly Americanized it will be interesting to see how the American culture progresses and is accepted into the twenty first century.<br><br>The American culture has produced one of the most economically booming eras in history. The fact that we have created more wealth in the past 50 years than has been created in all the centuries of the world before 1950 speaks volumes. (Global Issues and Change, B. Johnson and J.S. Johnson) and (Global Fortune: The Stumble and Rise of World Capitalism by Ian Vasquez). Our unique culture has shaped both us as individuals and our country as a whole into the superpower we are today.<br><br>references:<br><br>culture. (n.d.).
