For years we've all been warned of the dangers of the sun. Positioning ourselves on the beach in search of the perfect tan can reap hazardous results and for those of us with fair skin, the dangers are multiplied. Dermatologists continue to expose the peril of sun exposure -- everything from early aging to skin cancer - and advocate the consistent use of adequate and appropriate sunblock.

But this can be difficult to adhere to for those sun worshippers among us. Let's face it, a tan makes us feel healthier, younger...even thinner! This is a temptation that can be hard to ignore. And, so, in many cases, in lieu of the beach or pool, we will flock to tanning beds. Tanning beds are popular year round -- while peaking in popularity in the winter. And while there are those tanning bed users who understand the harmful effects of tanning beds, there are those who still think that they are cheating the dangers of the sun by choosing a tanning bed instead.

In truth, the harmful effects of tanning beds are just the same as the sun. Consequently, like the sun, tanning beds should be approached cautiously. First and foremost, fair-skinned people should avoid tanning beds -- and the sun -- at all costs. Even if you have darker skin, exposure should be limited. If you find that you just can't stay away, keep exposure time to a minimum and try to visit only periodically. Intense and prolonged exposure -- while increasing dangers -- also has the unsightly ability to make users look a little "too tan."

But more importantly, the harmful effects of tanning beds include the burning and aging of skin; prolonged exposure can even result in skin cancer. Tanning beds give off UV rays that are just as dangerous as the sun. If you find it necessary to visit a tanning bed then offer your skin just a little bit of covering with protective lotions designed for your skin type. Always be sure to protect your eyes, as well, with special glasses. Most tanning salons include eye protection with your visit.

Tanning is a risk that each one of us must decide upon for ourselves. If you must tan, do it responsibly to minimize the harmful effects of tanning beds on your skin. <bio>For easy to understand, in depth information about tanning beds visit our ezGuide 2 http://tanningbeds.ezguide2.com </bio>

So you've just bought a shiny new SLR camera huh? And a lens or two to go with it? That's great. Now all you have to do is learn how to use it. I'm assuming here you bought an SLR camera because you want to do a little bit more than take happy snaps at family events and holidays. So for those new to photography as anything more than that, this article aims to give you a little background on the basics of exposure to help you on your way.

Shutter speed

There are two elements to creating a "correct exposure". These are aperture, and shutter speed, which we will look at first. When you press the trigger button on your camera to take a picture, it opens a set of sliders, like opening a window. How long it stays open, depends on how you set the shutter speed. Shutter speeds can range from extremely fast (ie 1/8000 of a second), to very slow (30 seconds), or even infinity if your camera has a bulb setting. These are extreme shutter speeds and not often used, except by people who shoot fast moving subjects, or in very low light. For most of us, we tend to stick to somewhere in the middle. As a general rule, the faster the shutter speed, the sharper your photo will be. For most people, anything at 1/60 of a second or above is acceptable when hand holding a camera. Lower if you have a particularly steady hand. If you need to use slower shutter speeds, you will need to use a tripod or rest your camera on a steady surface. These slow speeds can be particularly useful for creating blurred effects. For example the flowing water in a waterfall.

Aperture

Ever wondered how photographers get their subjects to really stand out by blurring the background? The secret (which really is no secret) is adjusting the aperture. The aperture changes the depth of field in your photo. Depth of field is how much of the image is in focus. For example, if you have a depth of field of 4 meters, anything within that distance of the subject you are focusing on will also be in focus. There is as much variety with this control as there is with shutter speed. You can choose to set a narrow aperture (long depth of field) when you want the whole shot in focus, for instance a great, sweeping landscape, or a wider aperture for portraits.

Ok, so you've got your shutter speed sorted from your aperture. Now we just have to put them together. Any SLR camera will have an inbuilt light meter. This little gadget measures the amount of light you will need to create a correct exposure. It is usually in the form of a little bar with a too high (+) and a too low (=96) sign at each end. It is simply a matter of balancing one against the other so that the meter is centered. Once you've done that you can press the button! That's all there is to it.

ISO

Another choice that will effect your exposure is the ISO you use. With film cameras, this means the speed of film that you use. If you use a 100 speed film, your ISO is 100. Digital cameras also have an adjustable ISO speed. It's just in the form of turning a dial instead of loading a different film. A general rule is to use the lowest ISO you can get away with. Higher ISO films or digital settings can result in noisy (grainy) pictures. They do, however, allow you more freedom in your exposures in that you can shoot with less available light. Experiment with your particular camera, see what you can get away with. Remember that the quality required will be different for everyone. If you only want to make small prints to put in an album, or just store the photos digitally on your computer, then you will not need the same quality as if you want to make large prints to hang on your wall.

So there is some food for thought for those starting out in photography and looking to do more than just point and shoot. Now it's time to go out there and shoot. Experiment with different settings. Try new things. The technical side of photography you can read about anywhere. The creative side, well, that's up to you. <bio>Mark Eden is a freelance travel photographer and writer, and the founder and director of Expanse Photography, a photographic services company offering fine art, limited edition prints as well as stock and assignment photography and publishing services.
When it comes to treating your body well, not enough can be said about hair and skin care. The two are related because much of what can be done to protect the health of one can also be done for the other. In fact, hair and skin care are inseparable when it comes to maintaining health and an overall pleasant appearance. But such maintenance relies upon a few general tips that must be followed consistently as part of a hair and skin care regime.

First and foremost, as part of an effective hair and skin care regime, proper cleansing is paramount to success. For hair that means a mild shampoo that works within the confines of your particular hair type; for skin it means a gentle cleanser and toner that is made for your skin type. In either case, over washing can yield unpleasant results; both hair and skin will become dry and lifeless in the face of excessive washing.

Equally important in effective hair and skin care is proper hydration. Your skin should be treated to a daily dose of moisturizer - and even more often for dryer skin. Again, the type of moisturizer you use depends on your particular type of skin -- whether it's oily, dry, combination, or acne prone there is a moisturizer for you. Hydration for hair means a proper conditioner designed for your type of hair and meant for frequent use. For particularly dry hair, you may want to treat yourself to a deep conditioning treatment once or twice a week.

Hair and skin care also means protecting yourself from damaging elements such as the sun. Long-term exposure to the sun can result in early aging of skin and hair. Hair becomes brittle and dry; skin becomes weathered and damaged. Such exposure can even result in skin cancer. Limit your exposure to the sun as part of your hair and skin care; wear sun block at all times -- even in the winter. And for those who are particularly fair skinned, wear a hat as much as possible during the summer months -- limiting your hair and scalp's exposure to damaging rays.

Take the time to care for yourself. Proper hair and skin care requires a commitment to a consistent regime that will strengthen you hair and skin and deliver you to a higher level of good health and radiant appearance. <bio>For easy to understand, in depth information about hair and skin care visit our ezGuide 2 http://hairbeauty.ezguide2.com </bio>

Exposure to asbestos usually occurs by breathing contaminated air in workplaces that make or use asbestos. Asbestos is also found in the air of buildings containing asbestos that are being torn down or renovated. Asbestos exposure can cause serious lung problems and cancer. This substance has been found in at least 83 of the 1,585 National Priorities List sites identified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

If inhaled by humans, asbestos fibres can cause asbestosis, lung cancer and mesothelioma, a disease which is invariably fatal. This site discusses what asbestos is, asbestosis and other diseases caused by asbestos, pleural thickening, mesothelioma, lung Cancer, prevention, asbestos in buildings, and compensation. This form of cancer is peculiar because the only known cause is from asbestos exposure.

National Cancer Institute, found that people who live closer to ultramafic rock deposits, which typically contain asbestos, have higher risks than those farther away. That was before studies linked asbestos dust with cancer and lung disease. The delay between exposure to asbestos and the development of cancer is generally 20 or more years.

The type of cancers includes mesothelioma, asbestos lung cancer, and asbestosis. The known afflictions associated with asbestos exposure are asbestosis, lung cancer, mesothelioma and pleural plaques. Significant long term exposure to asbestos increases the risk of lung cancer, mesothelioma and non-malignant lung and pleural disorders.

Smoking also greatly aggravates the likelihood of lung cancer in workers exposed to asbestos (although smoking does not appear to increase the risk of mesothelioma). The asbestos fibers can cause lung cancer and other lung disease that may not appear until many years after exposure. But exposure to asbestos causes cancer and other diseases.

British asbestos workers were among the first who were observed to have lung cancer related to asbestos. Because of the recent renovation boom, home renovators are the new suffers of asbestos cancer, or mesothelioma. Scientists have developed a blood test that can predict years in advance whether someone will succumb to asbestos cancer. <bio>Mesothelioma is a rare disease that is strongly related to exposure to Asbestos.
External elements, known as extrinsic factors, can prematurely age your skin. Excessive exposure to the sun is an extrinsic factor that aids in damaging your skin. Your skin naturally ages intrinsically, or internally, but exposure to the sun accelerates the aging process.

Sunlight harms your skin, most particularly the upper layer of skin known as the epidermis. The ultraviolet light of the sun damages fibers in the skin referred to as elastin. Dermatologists have a special term, photoaging, for the premature aging caused by exposure to the sun's rays and this condition occurs over a period of many years. Fair skin tends to show signs of photoaging more profoundly than dark skin because of the level of pigmentation in the skin.

Signs of damage due to exposure to sunlight include wrinkles, roughness, leathery texture, age spots, blotchy pigmentation and a reduction of flexibility. Skin that has been hurt by the sun may also be more prone to bruising. A major cause of skin cancer is the damage done by exposure to the sun. Exposure to the sun can also include tanning since you are still putting your skin into contact with simulated sun rays.

There are several ways to minimize the damage done to your skin from exposure to the sun. For effective sun damaged skin treatment, avoiding the sun between the hours of ten in the morning and three in the afternoon, when the sun is strongest, is helpful.. Use a sunscreen or moisturizer with an SPF number of 15 or higher to block harmful rays. The higher the SPF number, the more protection the sunscreen offers your skin. Wear protective clothing, such as hats, sunglasses and light, long-sleeved shirts to shield the skin from sunlight. Also, keep away from the use of sunlamps or tanning beds.

Minimizing the effects of exposure to the sun can enhance the appearance and well-being of your skin. <bio>For more free sun damaged skin treatment information like this article, please visit http://www.FreeSkinCareAdvice.com </bio>

With the ongoing work being done by researchers studying the health effects of a myriad of environmental, dietary, and chemical factors on our bodies, we are bombarded with information on a daily basis. The negative effects of sun exposure have been well documented, as have the effects of tanning beds. But for tanning bed enthusiasts, the positive feelings associated with tanning are difficult to ignore. To weigh your risks when it comes to tanning, it's important to first understand some tanning bed facts.

One of the most important tanning bed facts to understand is that tanning beds do not eradicate the dangers of ultraviolet rays. Most of us know that the sun emits ultraviolet rays =96 UVA and UVB rays =96 that have been associated with everything from early aging to significant skin damage such as skin cancer. But what you must also understand is that tanning beds also emit these ultraviolet rays. While exposure to the more dangerous UVB rays are minimized in tanning beds, these UV rays still exist. Additionally, tanning beds actually increase exposure to UVA rays =96 longer UV wavelengths that reach our deeper layers of skin =96 to speed the tanning process. For skin that has a tendency to burn this can mean a speedier burning, rather than tanning, process.

Another one of the tanning bed facts to understand is that visiting a tanning salon does not mean you should leave your protective lotion behind. Rather, you should be just as vigilant in selecting protective lotion at the tanning salon as you would on the beach. One of the tanning bed facts that most people don't realize is that there are lotions designed for specific skin types that are meant to provide protection in tanning beds. Any reputable tanning salon will offer a full product line of protective lotion; ask an employee for help finding one that works with your skin type.

The most important of tanning bed facts is that a tanning bed does not change your skin. If you burn at the pool then you will burn in a tanning salon. If you have fair skin that tends to burn, you're better off avoiding tanning beds altogether. But if you must tan, do so responsibly and with knowledge behind you. <bio>For easy to understand, in depth information about tanning bed visit our ezGuide 2 http://tanningbed.ezguide2.com </bio>

With more and more attention being given to the ways in which we can live a healthy lifestyle, doctors continue to weigh in on the hazards of the sun and the ways in which we can protect ourselves from its dangers. For sun worshippers, it's difficult to leave the lure of the sun's rays behind. And for many, the end of the summer means the beginning of the tanning salon. But, the truth is that visiting a tanning bed does not necessarily minimize your risks of early aging and skin-related cancers. In order to avoid the health risks of tanning beds, you need to first understand them.

Natural sunlight produces ultraviolet light -- made up of UVA rays and UVB rays. UVA -- the longer wavelengths of sunlight -- causes the skin to tan. Experts agree that excessive and long term exposure to UVA rays can cause skin cancer -- and other sun-related skin damage. UVB rays -- the more dangerous of the two -- consist of shorter wavelengths that burn the top layer of the skin.

Tanning beds expose users to nearly 40% less of UVB rays than the natural sun, minimizing some of the danger. But the health risks of tanning beds still exist, as the skin is still exposed to both UVB and UVA rays.

Extremely fair-skinned people -- those who burn easily in the sun -- should avoid tanning altogether. The health risks of tanning beds for fairer skin is multiplied than for those with a little bit darker skin. However, skin of all colors should be vigilant when examining the health risks of tanning beds. And, if you do decide to use a tanning bed, then be sure to give your skin some protection with lotion made for your particular skin type. Also be sure to cover your eyes at all times during tanning; eye protection is normally offered through the tanning salon.

The health risks of tanning beds -- like the health risks of natural sun exposure - can never be completely eradicated. But you can minimize your risks for skin damage -- including skin cancer -- with responsible exposure. <bio>For easy to understand, in depth information about tanning beds visit our ezGuide 2 http://tanningbeds.ezguide2.com </bio>

For stock photos, having a clearly focused image is an extreme necessity.

Shallow depth of field is frequently used in advertisement type stock photographs. It can be used in editorial photos but more frequently is used in ads.

Using shallow depth of field for stock photos enables you to isolate the subject very easily. Having an isolated subject is very important. People that are advertisers don't want to buy stock photos that are cluttered and filled with detailed backgrounds.

Setting a shallow depth of field will make the stock photo much more profitable in certain situations. If you're taking an expansive landscape photograph, shallow depth of field probably wouldn't be your best option.

Great settings for which shallow depth of field work good for include a few categories. The possibilities, however, are endless. Shallow depth of field could be greatly used when taking pictures of a product. Isolating the product will bring more impact on the object. It could be used when taking photographs of people. It could even be used when photographing small objects of interest.

A shallow depth of field makes the object of interest more interesting. Having a simple background brings more impact to the subject of interest. Do not, however, think that the background is only a useless part of your photograph.

When setting the background up, even though it's out of focus, be sure that it adds something to the subject. If your subject is a duck then having an out of focus lake is a much better option than a white blank background.

In case you don't know, shallow depth of field is created by using a very large aperture .Using a large aperture lets a larger amount of light in. Having more light in makes the light that is let in lees detailed and thus creates a blur on certain parts of the photograph. Aperture settings such as F/5.6 or F/2.8 work great for shallow depth of field photographs.

With stock photos if you took a photograph of an object it can be greatly enhanced if you turn it into a shallow depth of field photograph. For example, let's say you took a picture of a salt shaker and the background was a kitchen fully in focus. You could open the photo up in an editing program and blur the background slightly or extremely. This will make more impact on the salt shaker.

An interesting way to use shallow depth of field in stock photography is when you take extreme telephoto lenses. I'm sure you have seen the pictures of very small objects and only a piece of the object is in focus. Everything else, the front and back, are out of focus. This shallow depth is achieved by using a very small field of vision. It is very interesting to play with the different effects of shallow depth of field. But always be sure that the subject of interest is as clear and focused as possible. Stock photography does not allow room for photos with out of focus subjects. <bio>http://www.photoprofitz.com Al Sanchez has a great program that teaches how to sell pictures online </bio>

There is some evidence that family members of workers heavily exposed to asbestos face an increased risk of developing mesothelioma. This risk is thought to result from exposure to asbestos fibers brought into the home on the shoes, clothing, skin, and hair of workers.

How High is the Risk for Cancer?

Not all workers exposed to asbestos will develop diseases related to their exposure. The risk of developing asbestos-related diseases varies with the type of industry in which the exposure occurred and with the extent of the exposure. Asbestos that is bonded into finished products such as walls and tiles poses no risk to health as long as it is not damaged or disturbed in such a way as to release fibers into the air. When asbestos fibers are set free and inhaled, however, exposed individuals are at risk of developing an asbestos-related disease.

How does smoking affect risk?

Many studies have shown that the combination of smoking and asbestos exposure is particularly hazardous. Smokers who are also exposed to asbestos have a greatly increased risk of lung cancer. However, smoking combined with asbestos exposure does not appear to increase the risk of mesothelioma.

Asbestos diseases are said to follow the trail of exposure. That means that wherever people have received asbestos exposure, regardless of their trade, age, sex or race, they are at risk of cancer and other diseases.

Unfortunately, the effects of asbestos on the human body were known to be deadly for years by the companies who employed the 'greatest generation' and made hundreds of millions, if not billions, of dollars off of their backs. But instead of taking simple steps to alleviate the problem and save the lives of thousands of their workers, they choose to do nothing and continue to make a "healthy" profit with a "deadly" product.

A life-threatening illness is terribly emotional. It has a broad impact and affects many people - family, friends and co-workers.

Many employers even went so far as to hide the truth from their workers and their families. And because the normal latency period for Mesothelioma is 20 to 30 years, many got away with this for years.

We urge you to find out more about Asbestos, and know your legal rights today! <bio>Mesothelioma is a rare disease that is strongly related to exposure to Asbestos.
As someone who is passionate about, you are probably interested in knowing how to include more depth of field in your photos. There is a lot of literature on this subject. If you're a professional photographer, you've probably learned some things about wide angle (shorter focal length) and telephoto lenses (long focal length). For years photography textbooks and magazines have been promoting the idea that a wide-angle lens provides more depth of field compared to a telephoto one. However, if you type 'depth of field' on Google, you will soon come across a lot of articles arguing this assumption.

Recent tests taken by experts, including several photo magazines, have proven that, technically speaking, a wide-angle length does not provide more depth of field. These tests are quite easy and you can conduct them yourself to verify the conclusions. But how does this impact your work as a photographer? All these tests assume that you keep the picture size constant. They go like this: take a photo of some subject using a telephoto and then zoom out and use the wide angle lens. You can also use interchangeable telephoto and wide angle lenses. Then take the photo made with the short focus lens and enlarge a selected portion of it until is the same size as the same portion in the other photo. You will see that there is no significant difference between them. This proves that wide angle lenses don't actually provide more depth of field.

Now, let's see why you actually zoom out. Say you are in front of an amazingly beautiful scenery, such as a mountain landscape beautifully colored with sunrise light. You zoom in and take the picture with a telephoto setting. Then you zoom out and take the photo using the wide angle setting. You expect to get more depth of field with the last photo and that's what it looks like. You would never think that if you enlarge a portion of it this apparent depth of field will disappear. When you use a wide angle setting, you zoom out because you want to capture more things in your picture. You are aware that the objects will look smaller and it doesn't bother you. In the same way, when you zoom in you want to focus on a certain aspect of the photo even though you know you will loose depth of field. Zooming in and out and using different focal length setting makes you perceive that the depth of field also varies. Photos taken with the wide angle appear to include more depth of field compared to those taken with the telephoto. This may not be true technically. But what is in fact a photograph? What appears to the viewer. If you don't place technical correctness above everything else, you should stick to what you've known and has proven right for years. As long as you like what you get, why drop it? Your photos will prove if you are on the right path or not.<bio>Mr. D. is a writer about photo resizer software applications at Reshade.
There are many misconceptions around enriched air diving. This dive article will provide some facts about enriched air, advantages and disadvantages of diving with enriched air, and equipment used for enriched air diving.

Air is a mixture of primarily two gases, approximately 21% oxygen and 79% nitrogen. Nitrogen is the culprit in causing decompression sickness, more commonly know as the "bends". This fact will be important as we discuss enriched air advantages. Enriched air is the result of adding oxygen to air, raising the level of oxygen in the mixture to between 22% and 99%. However, for recreational purposes enriched air blends range from 22% to 40% oxygen. Nitrox is often referred to as "enriched air"; however there is a difference between the two. Nitrox refers to any nitrogen-oxygen mixture, while enriched air is air that has some oxygen added. Therefore by definition enriched air can only contain greater than 21% oxygen. The two most common blends are 32% oxygen (EANx32) and 36% (EANx36). The abbreviation EAN stands for Enriched Air Nitrox.

The primary advantage of enriched air is to extend the no stop limits beyond the normal no stop limits associated with air. Since enriched air has a lower level of nitrogen than air, you absorb less nitrogen while your body is able to metabolize the extra oxygen, assuming you are diving within recreational enriched air limits. This results in longer no decompression limits while diving on enriched air. The primary disadvantage of diving with enriched air is potential exposure to oxygen toxicity. Oxygen can be toxic based on depth and duration under water, and by increasing the level of oxygen in the gas you breathe, you are constrained by your depth and duration. This is why you must calculate both your no decompression limit due to nitrogen, and your oxygen exposure limit called partial pressure. For most non-repetitive dives under 100 feet, you will be limited by the amount of gas as opposed to either the no decompression limit or the partial pressure limits. Enriched air is particularly effective in enhancing the frequency and duration of repetitive dives, since nitrogen buildup is lessened.

Enriched air diving within the recreational limit of under 40% oxygen requires some special equipment, but for the most part you can use the equipment you purchased for diving air. The only new piece of equipment that you will definitely need is a tank. One reason for this is the special markings that must go on an enriched air tank; the other is that the tank must be cleaned and lubricated for oxygen exposure to facilitate partial pressure blending which involves adding pure oxygen to air. A common scuba community guideline is that regulators, BCDs, SPGs and alternate air sources may be used with enriched air blends up to 40% oxygen without modification. However, you should verify that the manufacturer of each piece of equipment has certified that equipment for use with enriched air. For gas mixes with more then 40% oxygen, special equipment is required. As with any scuba equipment, regular servicing is highly recommended, including O-rings and other critical components. During your enriched air training, you will learn how to properly fill and verify the blend of gas in your tank. The verification step is extremely important and must be done by you the diver; you shouldn't rely on anyone else to verify your gas blend.

Remember, you should never dive with enriched air unless you have been certified by a reputable certification organization. While the benefits of diving enriched air are significant, so are the risks. <bio>Rick Abbott is an avid diver, part time author, and consultant in the IT field.
Asbestos is well recognized as a health hazard and is highly regulated. An estimated 1.3 million employees in construction and general industry face significant asbestos exposure on the job. Heaviest exposures occur in the construction industry, particularly during the removal of asbestos during renovation or demolition.

Asbestos fibers can enter the air or water from the breakdown of natural deposits and manufactured asbestos products. Small diameter fibers and particles may remain suspended in the air for a long time and be carried long distances by wind or water before settling down.

What is Mesothelioma?

Mesothelioma is a rare disease that is strongly related to exposure to asbestos particularly occupational exposure. Mesothelioma is the most serious asbestos causing disease. Mesothelioma is a disease that is almost 100% preventable; the only known cause is via exposure to the deadly mineral Asbestos.

There isn't any cause of mesothelioma other than asbestos, and it's obvious that the major source of the substance is Kubota. According to various researches done, the odds of developing mesothelioma decreased 6.3 percent for every 10 kilometers farther from the asbestos source. Mesothelioma has a latency period of 20 to 50 years after the first exposure to asbestos.

Many employers and the manufacturers of asbestos knew about the dangers when they exposed employees to this material.

Indeed, reports Forbes magazine: "asbestos defendants are very likely now paying compensation for every occupational disease known to man. Tomorrow's epidemic: The epidemic of asbestos disease is expected to peak in the next decade. Usually, a period of 10 to 40 years or more passes before the asbestos victim exhibits the first asbestos disease symptoms.

There is a long latency period between exposure and the development of asbestos disease symptoms. Each state has its own set of deadlines, called statutes of limitation, for allowing victims of asbestos disease to file lawsuits. The victims of asbestos disease deserve to have these issues clearly and squarely addressed. Inhaling asbestos fibers can cause permanent and irreversible damage and disease to vital organs. All types of asbestos cause disease and death. <bio>Mesothelioma is a rare disease that is strongly related to exposure to Asbestos.
Any material that contains less than one percent asbestos is considered non-regulated. Experts estimate that there has been an 83 percent increase in imports of asbestos brakes and brake material over the past 10 years. IJOEH provides essential background material for the fight for a global asbestos ban.

To avoid potential exposure, only trained and state certified employees may remove, drill, bore, or in any way disturb asbestos containing construction material. Covering involves placing a protective wrap over or around the material that contains the asbestos to prevent the release of fibers. Until you receive the results, treat the material as if it contains asbestos. Usually it is best to leave asbestos material that is in good condition alone. Before asbestos removal, insist that the contractor apply a wetting agent to the asbestos material with a fine-mist hand sprayer.

Health

Depending on its condition, asbestos in your home may be hazardous to your health. Many of the largest manufacturers and distributors of asbestos products knew of the health risks caused by asbestos in the 1930s and 40s.

Breathing asbestos fibers poses the greatest health risk. A person must generally be exposed to asbestos for a long period of time (10 or more years) before health effects occur. Some experts claim if managed properly the asbestos will not pose a health risk. Victims allege the companies knew of the health risks of asbestos long before they took it off the market.

The only way to truly remove the threat of asbestos exposure and its dangerous health effects is to remove all asbestos from the premises. But unfortunately, when microscopic asbestos fibers are inhaled, these minerals can become a health hazard. While beliefs about the hazard of asbestos are polarized, researchers do concur that there is a health risk.

Contact with asbestos has been found to present a much greater health hazard than previously thought, and should never be used in schools.

Exposure There is no safe level of exposure, so contact with any amount of asbestos can be harmful. By not disturbing the vermiculite, you are reducing your chances for exposure to asbestos. Other people believe there is no safe level of asbestos exposure level and that any schools containing it should undergo a removal plan. High, short-term exposure to asbestos fibres can occur during do-it-yourself work. Potential asbestos exposure can also occur at schools, homes and public buildings if asbestos products have fallen into disrepair or become damaged. <bio>Mesothelioma is a rare disease that is strongly related to exposure to Asbestos. The more exposure your home gets, the more people will see it and be interested in viewing it. The more people that are interested in your home, the more offers you are likely to get on your home. You can use flyers, brochures, and even internet marketing to help get the word out about the sale of your home. Even if it does cost you a little money to get exposure, it will definitely help you get a better offer and final price on the sale of your home.

Choose a Fair Price

Yes, you want to get top dollar from the sale of your home, but you want to price it fairly, as well. If you ask a price that is too high, there is a chance that no one will be interested, and a price that is too low will not help you make the money you need to on your home. Asking a reasonable price can attract many buyers and help you get a great deal when you sell your home.

Hire a Great Agent

A great real estate agent is a must if you want to get top dollar from the sale of your home. Check into the agents reputation and make sure that they are truly licensed to sell real estate. Having a bad agent can not only decrease your chances of getting a good offer for your home, but it may actually decrease your chances of selling your home at all. Make sure that the Realtor has a great plan to sell your home and that they are personable and a good negotiator as well. You want to pick an agent that is going to work to get you the best price possible on the sale of your home. <bio>Opinions in this article do not necessarily reflect the view of the http://www.buyersadvantagegroup.net/buyers_support.php which the author would like for you to visit. </bio>

Who needs to be examined?

Individuals who have been exposed (or suspect they have been exposed) to asbestos fibers on the job or at home via a family contact should inform their physician of their exposure history and any symptoms. Asbestos fibers can be measured in urine, feces, mucus, or material rinsed out of the lungs.

A thorough physical examination, including a chest x-ray and lung function tests, may be recommended. It is important to note that chest x-rays cannot detect asbestos fibers in the lungs, but they can help identify any lung changes resulting from asbestos exposure. Interpretation of the chest x-ray may require the help of a specialist who is experienced in reading x-rays for asbestos-related diseases. Other tests also may be necessary.

Almost anyone who has inhaled asbestos dust is at risk. Even a worker's families and friends can be at risk, because asbestos can often be carried on clothing.

Exposure to asbestos dust can occur at major construction job sites, in shipyards, in industry, and during construction or renovation of commercial buildings. See the list at right for certain occupations that are known to be those where risk of exposure to asbestos is great, and the numbers of people in such occupations contracting asbestos disease are high.

Why Mesothelioma Mostly Affect Men?

Millions of workers have been exposed to asbestos over the years, and the unlucky ones have discovered several decades later just what an impact their work had on their health. Many of the cases of mesothelioma coming to light today are in men, as it was mainly men that worked with asbestos several decades ago.

The dangers of asbestos exposure have now been far more widely recognised. However, millions of people worldwide have been exposed to this mineral.

Mesothelioma Diagnosis

The diagnosis of mesothelioma is not always easy. Many doctors are still unfamiliar with the symptoms which could be put down to a number of other, more common diseases. Timely diagnosis of mesothelioma is particularly difficult because of the latency period between contraction and display of symptoms. <bio>Mesothelioma is a rare disease that is strongly related to exposure to Asbestos.
The advent of the computer, as anyone can tell you, certainly brought with it benefits of such proportions we could never have previously imagined them. But, as with anything, the good always comes with the bad. The computer, while handing us the world, has also exposed us to the dangers of it. Part of the danger, exclusive to the operation of computers, is exposure to viruses that can wipe out our hard drives, render our software unusable, and in some cases, completely eradicate normal function of our computers. For most of us, who store personal, professional, and even legal information on our computers, virus exposure can be devastating. Luckily, most people employ the use of antivirus software that protects our computers from attack; much like hiring a bodyguard. And while some software can come at a hefty price, there is free antivirus software available on the market today.

Free antivirus software can protect your computer without you having to pay a large price for software purchase or download. This free antivirus software should protect your computer from all forms of viruses and prevent the entry of anything that will damage your internal and external systems.

Keep in mind however, that free antivirus software still comes at a price. And the price is being unsure as to the quality and effectiveness of the software. Reputable computer and software manufacturers all offer their own variety of antivirus software available for purchase. And because of their standing in the industry -- and the fact that you are paying for the software -- the quality of the product is assured. Manufacturers of this sort have a vested interest in standing behind their products and designing software that will effectively protect and serve their customers.

Those companies -- mostly found on the Internet -- that offer free antivirus software do so at risk to the consumer. If getting free antivirus software makes the most sense for your financial position right now, then do so with consideration to the reputation and reliability of the company.

Free antivirus software will provide you with a minimum of protection in the short run; but when you are able, you should invest in proper and thorough antivirus protection. <bio>For easy to understand, in depth information about software visit our ezGuide 2 http://www.ezguide2.com </bio>

Let's face it, tanning can be addictive. It can make you feel young, healthy, vibrant -- even thin. And in the cold and darkness of long winter months, it can instantly lift your spirits and physically rejuvenate you. But tanning beds -- like the sun -- can be dangerous for your skin, resulting in everything from early aging to skin cancer. The key to using tanning beds safely is using them responsibly. So, it's best to follow a few tanning bed tips for a successful -- and healthy -- outcome.

First and foremost, it's important to know your skin. It is a common misconception that those who don't tan well in natural sunlight are suddenly able to achieve the perfect tan in a tanning salon. Nothing could be further from the truth. If you are fair skinned and have a tendency to burn then you will more than likely burn in a tanning bed. So, one of the most important tanning bed tips to remember is that if you burn easily you should avoid tanning beds completely.

If you have darker skin or are more apt to tan in natural sunlight then tanning beds are far less dangerous for you. If you choose to tan then be sure to remember one of the more significant tanning bed tips -- use protective lotion. There are quite a number of protective lotions designed for specific skin types and available at most tanning salons. Find the lotion that works best for your particular skin and use it each and every time you tan.

Another of the tanning bed tips that will help protect your skin is to tan in moderation. If you do visit a tanning salon then do so with minimal frequency and time of exposure. Overexposure -- both in frequency and time spent in the bed -- will not only increase your exposure to dangerous UV rays but will achieve that "too tanned" look that can be very unattractive.

One of the more forgotten tanning bed tips is the necessity of protective eyewear. Just as you would not look directly as the sun, neither should you expose your eyes to the UV rays in tanning beds. All tanning salons will offer some type of protective covering for your eyes for use during tanning. Be sure to use this eyewear each and every time.

Tanning responsibly and following these tanning bed tips will ensure healthy skin for a lifetime. <bio>For easy to understand, in depth information about tanning beds visit our ezGuide 2 http://tanningbeds.ezguide2.com </bio>

Photographing food is probably one of the most challenging kinds of photography out there. It is considered difficult by most professional food photographers because there is a time constraint in the whole photo shoot.

And since the marketability of the food itself depends primarily on how it is seen in print, food photographers should be well trained and skilled in order to come up with satisfying results.

TIPS IN TASTEFUL FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY

1. Know your camera well. It is a must that you familiarize yourself with all its features and functions especially the basic operations like focus/auto focus, exposure compensation, white balance, image resolution and size, and flash modes operation. Know when to use these features in order to highlight the best angles of your subject.

2. Familiarize yourself with other equipment. Knowing the proper use of a tripod or stabilizer will help you focus on your subject better and will also avoid camera shake that usually causes blurring.

3. Fill the gap and the distance. If space and time permit, get close to your subject as close as possible. It is recommended that you fill the entire frame of with your subject to create a satisfying image. Distance will give a full view of the food's texture and ingredients.

4.Carefully calculated focus and depth-of-field (DOF). The use of depth-of-field never fails to create wonders in food photo shoots. With careful adjustment of focus and depth of field, you can bring to life any dish that is your subject. (TIP: Use wider or more open for a shallow DOF and a smaller or more closed one for a deeper shots.)

5. Identify the standout ingredient. Before taking any shot, assess the scene closely and look for something that can grab people's attention right away. You can use this main feature of the food as the subject of your subject.

6. It's all in the lighting. Like in any photography styles, lighting or available light can make or unmake any photograph. Since food is the major subject in food photography, it is better that the setting is bright and the lights are soft so as to make the food more appetizing. In digital cameras, turning on the White Balance feature of the equipment can solve dark settings in an instant.

7. Pay attention to your set-up. It is a must to take the time off to setup your food photo shoot. If there are distracting elements in the background, remove them. If you think there's something missing in the set up, then think of something else that would fill the empty space or gap. Prepare the garnish, the props, and other materials you might need for the shoot. <bio>This content is provided by Low Jeremy. It may be used only in its entirety with all links included.
