Where free riders and downhill bikers use four wheel bikes and ski lifts to get them to their destination, cross country bikers get to the top of the mountain by the ride.

Though free riding is very popular, the life vein of the sport has always been cross country biking. Just as cross country riders are a different breed, the bikes they ride are as well. The cross country bike is completely different in many ways from other types of mountain riding bikes. The premise for cross country riders is speed. Everything about their bikes revolve with the idea of making the bikes faster and faster. Bikes used in cross country mountain biking can be fully rigid frame, hardtails, or even full suspension frames.

Through the years, the cross over to full suspension has become very popular. The weight difference between free ride bikes and cross country bikes are considerable. You'll be extremely hard pressed to find a bike that weighs more than 24 pounds, and even that weight can be heavy. Free ride bkes weigh close to 40 pounds, which makes the difference in weight pretty close.

If you've never tried cross country mountain biking, you'll probably find it to be a break from the ordinary. Even though this type of biking involves trails, it's normally the type of terrain that beginners wouldn't want to ride. Involving hills and rough terrain, cross country biking offers quite the rush.

For mountain bikers everywhere, cross country is the way to go. It offers you a new assortment of bikes, new areas to bike, and a new twist to mountain biking as you know it.

If you've been looking for a mountain biking rush, cross country mountain biking is what you need to be experiencing. <bio>Andy Manifield is the owner of http://on-mountain-biking.com, THE best source of information on the subject.
A rock garden design is a great choice for beauty and elegance simply because rocks are wonderful to look at. We enjoy rock and stone in nature, so why not bring that beauty into your own yard with a stunning rock garden design. However, if you are thinking seriously about this, then I strongly urge you to read a book or two on the topic, look over this site for information, and plan very carefully before you proceed with your project. Why is that, you ask? Because rock gardens are difficult to redesign once they are in place. Rocks are heavy making any structural changes highly undesirable. Most gardeners who implement a rock garden design rarely change it. The design will remain as it is for many years.

One tip to help in designing your garden is to first think about what you like to plant. Don't think about the rocks at first. Think about what you enjoy growing and what you have time to grow. Do you like shade plants, or ones that thrive in sunlight? Do you enjoy shrubs or flowers? After you are clear about what you will plant in your garden, then you can start to consider a suitable rock garden design. For example, if you enjoy shade-loving plants, you are going to want to leave the shady spots available for growing while the portions where you place the rocks will be where the sun shines. The safest rock garden design will leave soil open in both shady and sunny areas. You don't want to expend great effort in designing a garden with no shady spots for growing only to find in a couple years that you want to experiment with shade-loving plants. Leave yourself some options in the rock garden design you choose because most likely your rock garden design will be permanent.

Another thing to strongly consider in the planning of your rock garden design is the location of paths. Paths should not be something you throw in after you've thought of all the other aspects of your rock garden design. Paths should be put in to the design from the beginning. When thinking about where the paths are going to go, you need to think about where the sunlight is going to be through out the day. Do you want your paths in the sun, in the shade, or both? This is also important when thinking about what you will plant along the edges of the paths. Many rock garden designs begin with the paths first and proceed from them, adding in the rock and plant placement afterwards.

A rock garden design can be a practical time-saving and elegant choice for your garden in the long term as long as you take special care in planning it out before execution. The rock garden design will last for years to come and require very little effort in maintaining. Most of your time in this kind of garden will depend on the variety of plants and shrubs you decide to populate it with. <bio>Jonathan writes on gardening topics for http://www.elegant-garden-design.com. </bio>

My husband and I live in a recreational area in central Minnesota. As with most recreation areas throughout the country this means many frequently use 4 wheelers around us. We have 4 wheelers ourselves that we use to plow snow from our driveway, haul wood from the wood pile to the house and to travel the recreation trails of the area. We also use our 4 wheelers during the deer hunting season to get back to our deer stands and to transport the deer out of the woods. I think they are a useful and fun vehicle; however there are so many people who use their 4 wheelers to destroy the natural beauty of our State unknowingly or purposefully.

It all starts from the fortunate fact that there are several paths in the acreage behind our home for 4 wheelers. We normally use these paths to go from one neighbor's home to another and to simply walk in the beautiful woods. The wooded area where the paths are located has quite dense vegetation filled with very old beautiful hardwood maples and ash trees. This wooded area is classified under tax forfeited land, so it is collectively owned by the State of Minnesota. There is an agreement among the neighbors that we will all do our best to keep the paths clear of brush and fallen debris. However, there are no rules or guidelines whatsoever about the use of 4 wheelers on the paths. Everyone used common sense and was courteous to each other as well as to Mother Nature.

Everything seemed to be going well, until one particular day. Recently our path system was discovered by a group of 4 wheelers that are now using it as a connection from one racing area to another. The racing causes an excessive amount of noise and some serious damage to the wooded area, which prompted the interference of the department of natural resources which stepped in and banned the use of ATV's in this wooded area.

This has been a great disappointment to those of us who were using our 4 wheelers responsibly. When I mentioned this to some of my co-workers I was surprised to find out a majority of them thought that all ATV trails should be closed. Many people see these trails as dangerous and harmful to the environment. I was amazed that they saw the 4 wheelers as a bad thing per se. A close look at the situation should reveal that the real culprits are those irresponsible people driving them.

The woods behind our house are much quieter now. People still use the paths for walking and nature-gazing. The thing that still bugs me is that others are getting the message that 4 wheelers are bad for nature, when the true message should be irresponsible people are really what are bad for nature. It is unfair that thoughtless behavior by some people is over -- generalized and affects the entire community. I love Nature. I love my 4 wheelers, too. They can co-exist. <bio>Tavis J.
The cross, with the rich history and the mystery surrounding it, is one of the most common symbols known to man. Legends as to its origin are highly talked about and, to this date, no one knows exactly how, when and where it originated.

Right now, all we have are a few clues and lots of speculations. In addition to the mystery that shrouds the cross, this symbol has come to represent the Christ's martyrdom and mankind's deliverance from sins and is a highly regarded symbol for Christianity.

Religion could be the reason behind the popularity of cross tattoos in our society since Christianity is the world's number 1 religion today in terms of number of adherents. Wearing of cross tattoos may be one person's way of professing his faith or as a way of regaining his faith. Or it could also be that the wearer was drawn to the mysterious aura of the symbol, hence, the tattoo.

But whatever the reasons are, cross tattoos would remain one of the world's most requested tattoo designs. And finding the right design is sometimes a problem for newbies wishing to get cross tattoos for themselves. Confusion sets in when there are thousands of them to choose from. And we have to take note that they don't always mean the same thing. You wouldn't want to pick out a design that does not reflect your views or describe how you are actually feeling.

Here is an overview of several cross tattoo designs to help you differentiate one from the other:

Christian cross tattoos =96 These are simple, non-elaborate versions of the cross, often accompanied with religious inscriptions, or the Sacred Heart, and sometimes with the body of the Christ nailed to it. This is also known as the Latin cross.

Gothic cross tattoos =96 These resemble the Gothic iron design with its beveled edges and is often heavily adorned. They induce dark imagery and often represent feelings of anger and pain. A cross that doubles as a dagger and a cross entwined with barbed wire are common examples of gothic cross designs.

Tribal cross tattoos =96 These are basically crosses combined with ethnic flavor and flowing strokes distinctive of tribal designs.

Celtic cross tattoos =96 These are, by far, the most popular cross tattoo design to date. It mainly originated from Ireland, Scotland and Wales. With the history and the intriguing legends behind it, not to mention its profound representation, it is not unusual that this tattoo design is one of the most sought after. They often have elaborate designs with intricate loops and knot work that seems to go on and on around the cross itself. This represents the never ending cycle of life.

Sporting around a cross tattoo could be for religious reasons for some. But for the others out there, cross tattoos are ways of self-expression. It could be anger, it could be depression, or it could be his love for his heritage. For some, it is simply the love of this art that dictates whether he wants to be inked or not. <bio>Are you feeling like you could never get enough of cross tattoos (http://www.body-jewelry-useek.com/1367-celtic-cross-tattoos.htm)? We have more of them.
This article will cover the top 6 reasons you should work out with an Elliptical Cross Trainer. The Elliptical Cross Trainer has become one of the most popular methods of exercise for the reasons you are about to discover right here in this article. This exercise machine has easily risen above that of the treadmill and other exercise equipment because of its overall workout scheme. So sit back, relax, and read on. You will learn the many different reasons that you too should be working out with an Elliptical Cross trainer.

Reason number one -- An elliptical cross trainer provides the user with a workout using weight-bearing exercises. A weight-bearing workout works to improve a wide variety of aspects of your body. For example, by using an elliptical cross trainer you can increase your bone density, improve conditioning, burn calories, and strengthen your muscles. All by using one exercise machine.

Reason number two -- With an Elliptical Cross Trainer you will receive a low impact workout. This is extremely important to anyone who chooses to exercise to maintain his or her health. A low impact workout means you are putting less stress upon your bones and joints while you are exercising. The trainer has pedals that you use during cross training and your feet will never have to leave those pedals. This decreases the amount of impact placed on your body.

Reason number three -- Improve your overall fitness by using an extensive cardiovascular workout. This is one of the key factors that tempt many people to exercise with an Elliptical Cross Trainer. A cardiovascular workout is essential to promoting good circulation and overall heart health.

Reason number four -- With your Elliptical Cross Trainer you will receive a total body workout. From head to toe and everywhere in between, the Elliptical Cross Trainer allows you to work every muscle. Some other exercise machines only work on specific areas of the body, meaning you would need a few different machines for a full body workout. The elliptical cross trainer does that for you with one machine for a total body workout.

Reason number five -- Lose weight with an elliptical cross trainer. Because the cross trainer gives your entire body a workout, with exercise and a proper diet you could find yourself losing weight while toning your body at the same time.

Reason number six -- Maximum results in less time. This is another key factor that lures people to the Elliptical Cross Trainer. Because you get a total body workout, those with a busy life and little time left to spare find that exercising on the elliptical cross trainer provides you with maximum results in less time. This allows you to get the benefits of exercising and still have enough time in the day for other activities.

As you can see, there are many benefits to working out with an Elliptical Cross Trainer. If you find the proper machine, do the right exercises and follow a healthy diet regimen, you will have no problem benefiting from all that an Elliptical Cross Trainer can offer. <bio>Simon Oldmann has been writing about the effects of financial planning on health and mental stability. The free heel allows cross-country skiers to climb uphill which is not very comfortable in alpine skis.

Cross-country skiing dates back to Scandinavia 4000-4500 years ago, when it was used as a method of transportation. Today, the sport is divided into two disciplines: classic skiing which uses a straight-ahead gliding motion, and ski skating which makes use of glide and edge movements similar to ice skating or roller blading.

Cross-country skiing is part of the Nordic family of sports, which include a number of exciting ways to play in the snow. Biathlon is a combination of cross-country skiing and rifle marksmanship. Nordic combined combines scoring of jumping and cross-country skiing events. Ski orienteering involves a marker search on skis with the help of a compass and map.

Compared to downhill skiing, the gear used for cross-country skiing is some of the most affordable outdoor sports equipment available. You will need the following types of equipment for cross-country skiing:

- Skis with bindings attached, - Poles and boots. - Clothing suitable for cold-weather aerobic activity

Some people choose to go cross-country skiing on packed trails, while others like to ski anywhere there is snow. There is a distinct difference between skiing on packed trails and skiing andquot;off-trackandquot;. On packed surfaces your skis will have greater gliding ability and with classic tracks, you will have two grooved channels that your skis can follow. Off-track ski conditions are dependent on the weather and any previous skiers that have been in the area. However, off-track skiing can feature obstacles such as fallen trees, swollen rivers and inconsistent snow quality. This is usually not an issue in commercial cross-country ski areas, who conduct extensive trail work throughout the summer months. <bio>Raquel S. Hunter is a writer for MamasHealth.com. The cross is regarded mainly as a symbolization of Christianity nowadays. The Pagan followers consider it as the symbol of sun demonstrating its life-giving qualities. The designs of Celtic cross tattoos have gained the attention of thousands of people from all over the world and they are the most popular tattoo designs now. People of Celtic ancestry wear the cross tattoos to show their respect to their ancient culture.

Celtic cross tattoos with knotwork are a more complicated design since they symbolize the complexity of nature. The knots in the spirals and mazes show the reflective nature of the four seasons, the circle around the cross depicts the ancient religious meaning.

The Celtic cross is represented well in the Book of Kells. In fact, many religious cultures have The Celtic cross as the system of symbols. Hence, there is no wonder why many people have a high regard for Celtic cross tattoos.

Celtic cross tattoos have a deep connection to pre-Christian religion. When the ancient Celtic people converted into Christianity, naturally the Celtic cross became a symbol of Celtic Christianity. Ireland offers so many variations of the Celtic cross. Celtic cross tattoos are awesome in appearance, there is no denying this, and the legend of Celtic history now continues to grow in the form of Celtic cross tattoos.

Celtic cross tattoos are indeed found in ancient Bible manuscripts. Many elaborate Celtic designs are inspired by the fabulous drawings found in those books. These Celtic cross tattoos are not only beautiful but when used as tattoos -- they are also flexible. You can use them to be tattooed as small armbands or you can ink them in the entire back area. The designs can be either simple or complicated. Whatever the design, they express the importance of emotions rather than a physical object which shows the powerful meaning of life.

Many Celtic cross tattoos feature the beautiful artwork of ancient Celtic knot work. These represent ethnic heritage and faith. The four points in the cross represent the four parts of man or the four elements that include earth, wind, fire and water or the four points in the compass. Celtic cross tattoos with circle symbolize the love of God or the majesty of the Sun God according to Pagan beliefs.

Though different people may have different meaning for the symbol, Celtic cross tattoos are something that can evoke the spiritual emotions of people. Again, the flexible style and decorative nature of the designs gain great popularity among tattoo lovers. Importantly, the size of the cross can be reproduced easily to ink them anywhere on the body.

It is important to know the meaning of the Celtic cross tattoos before wearing it. A common person may not understand the meaning of these symbols. However, I must admit there is a growing awareness of Celtic culture nowadays; it is almost a popular trend to be versed in Celtic culture. You need to take the appropriate care to avoid misrepresenting the design. Be sure to check out online galleries -- there is a plethora of quality designs available only if you know where to look.
In this world of hectic rushing and material clutter, we need to be careful to let God direct our paths. Distractions are around every corner that capture our attention and steal our focus away from Him. It may seem like it's easier to put our own hands on the wheel instead of letting God steer our course.

Imagine driving down a narrow road that gets curvier by the mile. We pass road signs, then hazard postings, then flares, but we take no head of them and continue at our speed of choice. It's only a matter of time before we drive off the cliff, right? We can avoid these hazards on the road of life by creating personal schedules that designate private time spent listening for God's direction. "You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy." Psalm 16:11a

In Matthew 16:24-26, we are urged to follow God, to actively seek and abide by His teachings. "Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me... What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul?'"

Making time for personal intimacy with your Creator requires self-discipline. Self-discipline is more than self-control. It's not just about saying: "No." to chocolate or limiting time in front of the television set. Self-discipline of a Godly nature is the act of regulating our own activities for the sake of discipleship. "Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. 'Make level paths for your feet,' so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed. Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord." Hebrews 12:12-14

This can include limiting what we eat or drink, maintaining a physical fitness routine, making time for daily devotions, or eliminating curse words from our vocabulary, but the intent is deeper. Our purpose in life is to draw nearer to God, and we're promised great peace when we make this our focus. "Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them." John 13:17

It's easy to overlook the common root of: DISCIPLine and DISCIPLeship. To be a disciple means to follow in the example and under the charge of another. We need to practice self-control so that we can hear God's directions and be followers of Christ -- disciples. "If you want to enter life, obey the commandments." If you want to convey some spiritual meaning, then the Celtic cross is the most fashionable way nowadays. Obviously the cross is the original symbol of God's love for mankind

Many people believe that Celtic cross tattoos signify Christianity. However, the pagans have deep beliefs related with the cross symbol. For them, the cross is a symbol for fertility. It is also true that some others see the four points in the cross as representation of the four seasons, while others link them to four powerful elements that include Earth, Fire, Air and water. Celtic cross tattoos are admired by almost all tattoo enthusiasts regardless of any beliefs.

Certain groups of people thinks that Celtic cross tattoos refer to the permanence in life. They believe that the circle around the cross symbolizes life after death and they will commonly ink the designs to convey the love of God symbolizing the sheer sacrifice of the cross.

Quite often, Celtic cross tattoos include intricate knotworks that have neither beginning nor end. These knotworks are difficult to design and therefore require a talented tattoo artist. Though most of the designs are complicated with unending strands, some simple designs like single looped knots are also available. You can select either simple designs or complicated ones, but either way, the knots still look amazing.

Celtic cross tattoos complimented with a wheel or circle look awesome and many tattoo lovers choose to ink these more modern designs. The cross with wheels typically carries the most ornate symbol of Christianity. Before choosing a tattoo design, it is therefore worthwhile to choose the corresponding symbol to what you are trying to represent or express.

Celtic cross tattoos with triquetras are designed completely with knotworks. In fact, triquetras are one of the most wonderful designs in Celtic art. When combined with cross symbol, they offer fabulous looking artwork. The three points in triquetras stand for Father, son and Holy Spirit.

The most enticing feature of Celtic cross tattoos is the adaptability. You can reduce or enhance the size, allowing you to therefore wear a cross design anywhere on the body; anywhere from small ankle tattoos to full back pieces. The internet has ample amounts of Celtic cross tattoo designs. It is therefore easy to choose the perfect one as per your wish.

You can also join huge online galleries by paying a small up-front amount. This allows you to view thousands of tattoo designs, amongst these there are a considerable amount of Celtic cross tattoo designs. There are some combinational designs like cross with flowers, hearts, Jesus, Sun and moon. You can even design your own tattoo with the guidance of professionals. Be sure to check these sites out.

Generally, Celtic cross tattoos are designed in black and gray colors. Some parlors offer bright colors like red, blue, purple, violet etc to make the design awesome. It is worth to prefer a Celtic cross design in black backdrop with purple or blue color in the center, after looking at thousands of Celtic tattoo designs, the black backdrop always catches my eye.

Only a talented tattoo artist can design a Celtic Cross Tattoo, it is essential to spend some time selecting a great artist. It is also vital to assure the cleanliness in the tattoo parlor. Safety and hygiene enhances the pleasure of tattoo experience.<bio>John McCleary with all his knowledge on Celtic Tatoos, has started a website dedicated to Celtic Cross Tattoos -- you will find free designs, huge galleries, useful tips, and all the resources you need. In fact, every Celtic design provides some meaning and displays an obvious statement of loyalty and respect to Christianity.

Though Celtic cross tattoos are assumed to be a symbol of Christianity, it holds different meaning for people with other faiths. For instance, it is a symbol of Pagan with the four points in the cross believed to be the four directions. Other followers connect the points with the four powerful elements- Earth, Fire, water and wind. Whatever your faith may be, Celtic cross tattoos are a reflection of the wearer's pride in his own culture and beliefs.

Since there are numerous Celtic cross tattoos available on the net, it is important to select the right one. Some people believe that the Celtic cross is a symbol of life and death and the circle stands for continuity of life after death. Some others want to wear this tattoo as a sign of God's love for humanity. The cross is also a symbol of sacrifice too, but don't you be the one to sacrifice on quality when it comes to getting a Celtic tattoo.

The classic type of Celtic cross tattoos heavily involve ellaborate Celtic knot works. The knotwork inside the cross is incredibly complicated to design, and they simply look stunning, if designed well. There are also simple designs like single looped knots readily available, however I feel that the interlocking knots are more beautiful than the simple ones.

Celtic cross tattoos with triquetra, which is the triangular celtic design, are splendid and made from traditional knot work. The cross is compact with three triangular points. The points symbolize Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit showing faith in God's love.

Celtic cross tattoos combined with a circle seem to be the most popular and admired tattoos nowadays. The type of cross with a circle has rich and meaningful history. In actual fact, there were several of these cross designs with circle even before Christianity. Hence, it is worthwhile selecting a cross design with a wheel or circle in order to express your passion in heritage.

Celtic cross tattoos look beautiful anywhere on the body. Designs look best in the upper arm, upper back or as a complete back tattoo. It is worth viewing online galleries to select a Celtic cross tattoos. The galleries offer endless designs along with some combinations like Cross with flowers, hearts, Jesus, Sun, moon and stars. You can choose any design or even design your own tattoo to show your unique taste. Normally, Celtic cross tattoos are designed in black and grey colours only. However, modern day enthusiast are beginning to ink colours such as red, orange, blue and purple. The colored tattoos work best when inked over a black background.

The cross design with interlinked knot patterns are really complicated to design.
Celtic Cross Stitch is a simple yet elegant way of doing embroidery. This type of embroidery art is very old and is one of the most common and the most appreciated form of the cross stitch.

History has never come across a tribe that was equally famous for their art as they were for their warrior ship. Even after 25 centuries we still have their creative art alive. We have their stories, myths, metal engravings, knot works, tattoos, body arts, designs and knots. The Celts not only dwelt in Britain, Ireland, Spain, France, Germany but they have also live in Bohemia, Italy and Turkey. This is the same reason Irish, French, Germans, English and Italians particularly have Celtic patterns in their embroideries, tapestries, tattoos and jewelery.

The celtic cross stitch embroideries are predominantly a part of heritage in Irish, Scotts and Minx. The embroidery patterns from this art form are excessively used in our day to day routines from cushion covers to tapestries, from tea cozies to spectacles' covers and from clothes to wall hangings.

They also have the attributes of being rich in deep in colors and intricate designs, all which make them extraordinary eye catching and unique.

There are many celtic cross stitch patterns and designs which are typically embellished with patterns such as geometric, spirals, interlacing patterns, knot works, zoomorphic patterns and many more.

If you are starting out in this cross stitch, I would recommend you to try out their celtic knot works as they are particularly worth trying for. As these patterns can be from simple to very intricate ones, you can actually make a whole range of things for your own especially for your home decoration purposes.

So if Celtic art has ever inspired you either in form of clip arts or any other Celtic patterns, I would also recommend you to make a cross stitch of the same pattern on your favorite piece of clothing, your bag or even a wall hanging.

In fact, there are many ways which you can get ideas to cross stitch your art embroidery

You can also purchase a kit or get a pattern to make or you can even transform your favorite pattern into cross stitch pattern by pattern generating CDs or aids.

There are few basic celtic cross stitch designs and patterns for you to start things off. Below is the list of patterns to get you familiar with.

Simple x-shaped stitch - A cross stitch is very easy to make. Pass the needle with thread from one hole to the other diagonal hole at the corner of the square. Repeat with other two holes.

Half Stitch Pattern - There are actually two half stitches that overlap each other to make one cross stitch.

Quarter Stitch Pattern - Four of these stitches conjoin to make one cross stitch. But generally it is used alone as the length varies depending upon the celtic cross stitch fabric

Three Quarter Stitch Pattern - A three quarter stitch is made with one half stitch and one quarter stitch. A three quarter stitch is commonly used to add details in the cross stitch pattern

Back Stitch Pattern - Back stitch is generally used to make boundaries around the patterns and or to write alphabets in the patterns. This is a straight line made in the centre of the square bisecting it into two equal halves <bio>Check out Jennifer's celtic cross stitch site which offers you tons of cool free celtic cross stitch patterns and celtic designs for free.
If you mentions that you might want to get a Christian cross tattoos to a devout audience, you may have someone protests that the book of Leviticus clearly states that "Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD."

Yet there are some Biblical scholars who believe that this passage is actually referring to a practice belonging to pagans that time, in which they would carve images of their idols on their bodies at funerals, to make atonement for themselves and the dead.

Because you, or any Christian who decides to get a tattoo is not doing it to find favor with a pagan idol, the New Testament has no such restrictions. And Christian tattoos have indeed become an extremely popular way for many young Christian to both make a public statement about their faith, and display some of the most meaningful Christian icons.

Praying Hands, chalices, Jesus himself, the Sacred Heart, angels, Mary, the Apostles, and the Holy Spirit are all images which have been adapted into striking tattoos.

But the Christian tattoo which is far and away the most popular is the Christian Cross. The Cross has become the universal sign of the Christian faith, and tattoo artists have invented many striking designs to incorporate into their Christian cross tattoos.

While some of the more intricate Christian cross tattoos actually show a figure of Jesus, many of them have an empty cross, sometimes with a remarkably life-like wood grain.

The cross may be adorned with a crown of thorns, or a reference to a passage from Scripture. Sometimes the crosses will have a background of flames, and sometimes the beams of the cross will be made of nails or spikes.

Butterflies, as a symbol of the Resurrection of Jesus, and of the rebirth of sinners, are often incorporated into with Christian cross tattoos. If you're patriotic, why not combine the Christian cross tattoo with the flags of your country? The cross against a background of the Stars and Stripes is popular in the Bible Belt of the US.

Some Christian cross tattoo designs have their roots in very early evangelization. A strategy the early Christians used in spreading their faith was to adapt its symbols to those of the cultures whose people they were trying to convert.

One legend has it that when St. Patrick came from Wales to Ireland and saw the Druidic stones inscribed with the circular designed which represented the Druid's moon goddess; he simply bisected the circle with a Christian cross. In doing so, he laid the groundwork for one of the most beautiful of all the Christian cross tattoos, the Celtic cross.

Celtic Christian cross tattoos, because the ancient Celts believed that their souls were simply threads of a divine fabric to which they would return after death, has elaborate knots of "plaitwork," symbolizing those threads.

They may also contain keys, leaves, spirals, and animal figures, often borrowed from the ancient decorative script with which monks would embellish the pages of Scripture they spent their lives copying.

No matter what Christian cross tattoo you choose, you will be doing your part to spread the Good News! <bio>Author: Matt Garrett - =A9 2007 http://www.TopTattooDesign.Com Don't Be The One In Four Who Hate Their New Tattoo!
Cross tattoos are a popular choice if you're looking for a design that's iconic and rich with symbolism. But the origin of the cross design is unknown. The cross is one of the oldest and most basic designs known to humans. It has been used to decorate all manner of things including pottery and cloth for as long as humans can remember.

In ancient times the cross was used as part of the Aztec, Egyptian, Greek and Norse cultures for many centuries. The symbol of the cross was also used by various pagan religions that pre-date Christianity by thousands of years, and as a consequence cross tattoos are almost as old as the cross design itself.

Eventually, due to the rise of Christianity and the cross being a sign of execution by crucifixion, it became a symbol of Jesus's death and subsequent resurrection. The Christian cross (a vertical line intersected at right angles approximately one third from the top) is used by followers to profess their faith and the clergy to bestow blessings. These days Christian tattoos are an exceptionally popular way for people to express their Christian faith

So why are cross tattoos so popular?

The cross design has a number of practical advantages. To begin with, it's widely recognised and socially acceptable in most places. But beyond that it can be scaled to almost any size, placed anywhere on the body and can be combined with virtually any tattoo design. For example, it could be used in conjunction with flowers, words, animals etc to add greater meaning and individuality to the design. For these reasons a cross design is a popular choice of first tattoo with millions of people.

And finally, as already mentioned they convey a wide range of meanings to a wide range of people. However, cross tattoos are not only a sign of religious faith. Due to the number of symbolic meanings that can be held by the wearer of a tattooed cross, one person may use it to represent their religious beliefs while another person may just like the design. However, for the purposes of this article, we'll consider the main types of religious cross tattoo designs.

1) The Latin Cross

The design of the Latin cross is one of the most instantly recognisable in the world. It consists of a vertical line that is intersected at right angles by a shorter horizonal line about one third of the way from the top, and as such is the design most closely connected with Christianity.

This simple cross design is a good choice for a first time tattoo. The design can be scaled to any size, it's socially acceptable, it has a wide range of religious and spiritual meanings and it can be added to by further designs in the future. For example, if you have a basic latin cross, you could add a dove to the design to symbolize peace, you could add a shamrock to represent the Irish culture, or you could add the name and date of death to pay tribute to someone special who has died.

2) The Celtic Cross

Celtic cross tattoos are one of the best looking and most symbolic designs available. The basic design involves a standard latin style or Christian cross with a Celtic knot placed over the area where both lines cross over. Alternatively the border of the cross is surrounded by a series of Celtic knots.

These Celtic knots are designed in such as way that the strands of the design have no beginning and no end. This simple and elegant design is taken as a powerful symbol of the never ending nature of human life, while the knot itself represents the joining together of the physical and spiritual worlds.

The Celtic cross makes a great tattoo design and thanks to its long and symbolic history it is extremely popular among people from Scotland, Ireland and Wales who have pride in their Celtic heritage.

3) The St. Andrew's Cross

The St Andrew's cross differs from the traditional style of cross as it is shaped more like an X than a T. History says that the St Andrew's cross came about after St Peter (who felt he was unworthy of the same death as his Lord) was crucified upside down. St Andrew followed the same belief and so the modified cross became linked to his name.

So these cross tattoos are great if you want to be slightly different from the rest of the crowd. And as St Andrew is the Patron Saint of Scotland, these cross tattoos are ideal for people with Scottish links who want to pay tribute to their ancestors. <bio>Thinking about a new tattoo?
As someone who lives in the city, there are many ways to exercise a dog in your area. Why limit your dog's exercise just with a walk in your neighborhood? There's an attitude among some city dwellers that having a dog in the city isn't fair to the dog. Somehow, there is this myth that dogs are happiest in rural areas where they have plenty of room to roam, or in suburban areas with big backyards.

The city offers many options for exercising your dog. Owners should view the city as a vast playground. Often, it is a matter of using your imagination. One of the best ways to take advantage of your city area is to go running with your dog. When an owner runs with a dog, it is a beautiful thing to watch.

Many breeds of dogs were meant to run. Why not share a runner's high with your dog? Good advice when running with your dog is to run with him on leash and to observe the rules of the street, of course. I know runners don't like to stop at street corners with their dogs while they are running, but I hate to see a dog being taught that he can run across the street without stopping and not given the proper cross command. As a runner, you have to stop at street corners with red lights while running in place, so do the same thing whenever you arrive at any given corner.

It is not advisable to take a young puppy on a run since it will be hard on his hips and his bones are too soft. But when a puppy reaches his ninth month, he should be able to go safely on long runs with you. Check with your vet to find out when your dog is ready to start running with you.

If you run in the park, you don't have to worry about crossing at different streets. But you will have to teach him to stop at strategic areas along the path, such as cross paths, parking lots and other congested areas. Keep a leash on your dog so that it will be a smoother run. There are too many distractions around, and your run will be interrupted if he starts chasing a squirrel or rabbit.

Running teaches your dog to follow you since he will be running at your side. Your dog does not have to be at a perfect heel during a run. What you basically want to share with your dog is a good rhythm. If you are using a harness, he can run in front of you.

Running is also great for developing the musculature structure in dogs. Just take care that you don't run on days that are too hot for your dog. You will also want to inspect his pads after a run since they can take a beating on asphalt. <bio>Dave Swanborough is the Webmaster and owner of All About Dogs a website dedicated to supply resources and information to help all Dog owners better understand their pets needs. http://www.dogscatsdogs.com/ </bio>

Do Psychopaths exist in the workplace? Better yet can a psychopath appear in your life at your workplace?

Psychopaths are usually seen in roles of self centered individuals who care about no one but themselves who do great harm. Their motto may well be "I don't do anything that is not in my interest and that I do not get my piece =96 right away". Or it may be that this deviant behavior is below the surface and never noticed or apparent.

It is often said in retrospect that the "Axe Murderer" was a quiet person who kept to himself, may have been a good family man and bothered no one.

Psychopaths are usually seen in serial killers, rapists or sadists in Hollywood movies. They appear in the media and literature. Think of an early model as the Zodiac Killer in the Bay area of San Francisco. However these same people and personalities are never expected to cross our paths in real life. Yet it is estimated that approximately 1 percent of the general population fits the mold. It's only a matter of time until you cross paths with a psychopath in real life at your workplace or place of employment.

What exactly is a psychopath? In clinical psychology a psychopath is defined as a condition characterized as a condition characterized by a lack of empathy or conscience, poor impulse control and / or manipulative behavior.

How can you determine whether a fellow worker is a workplace psychopath? A leopard does not lose their spots. Similarly psychopaths, either on the loose or under fire may well indicate or revert to certain personality traits and behaviors.

First of all does the person show no remorse no matter how much they exhibit mean behavior =96 whether it be victimization, talking behind the backs of fellow employees or worse and backstabbing. Is the person more than an excellent talker =96 a story teller of lies? Even if caught with lies and deceit do they show no remorse =96 just switch tack with another tale =96 as if everyone else is both foolish, a mark and that they are smarter than everyone else. It's as if the world is there to be plundered =96 for their enjoyment and pleasure. Watch for the pleasure that such people take in their deeds of trouble. Everyone makes mistakes or may be forced into situations that they would prefer not to be in. The difference is that these people relish and are proud of these deeds and events =96 when it should be the other way around.

Sometimes these people are loners. Some of the times they will even function in groups. It can even be family groups to rip off and plunder everyone else outside of their close (or perhaps not close and self hating) group of vagabonds and carpetbaggers. Such individuals and groups can be seen to prey on people's weaknesses and insecurities =96 especially low self esteem. It's as if the undertone is "If you do not do what I want =85. Give me possessions or money that I want =85 You cannot be part of the group =85.. Or you will face abandonment."

It's not uncommon in the workplace but these people have an abnormal, almost pathological fear of failure. "I must be number one" is their constant internal motto. Along with that they may well rush to take credit for other people's work and successes. Again these traits are not those of psychopaths =96 yet the pattern of such behavior and personality traits along with the rest of the ball of wax should raise alarm bells in your mind.

The problem is that these psychopaths do not only negatively affect a few people in the organization. Given a level of authority in modern large corporations the effects and damage that these psychopaths can be great. If a psychopath considers everyone else, especially people they have outdone or outsmarted as downright foolish or even stupid rather than helpful souls who were taken advantage of and in addition the psychopathological culprit shows no guilt for making decisions that negatively affect the company, shareholders or employees then this is a recipe for great disaster and heartaches . Think of Tyco, Adelphia Communications, Enron and WorldCom. <bio>William Z. The principle of operation is simple, the insurer (that is Blue Cross Insurance company or Blue Shield in this case) pays the medical costs of the insured (you) if the insured becomes sick due to covered causes like disease, disability, accident etc.

In return the insured (you) pays a monthly or annual premium (a monetary amount usually around 200 dollars a month, however the exact amount varies according to the insurance plan purchased) to the insurer. As a general rule, the larger number of people in the insurance group, the lesser is the premium. This is due to the distribution of costs.

Blue Cross Insurance is an insurance company providing health insurance in the United States and Canada. Blue Cross Insurance was started by a university president Justin Ford Kimball. It started out in a very humble way as hospital care for school teachers in Dallas in 1929. The premium was only 6 dollars a year! Within 10 years of its formation the Blue Cross symbol was adapted by the American Hospital Association. Presently one of every three American is covered by Blue Shield or Blue Cross making them the largest health care provider in the United States.

Presently Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association is a trade organization linking 38 independent regional health insurance companies in the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada. It achieved its present form in 1982 after the merger of Blue Cross association and the national association of Blue Shield plans.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans are very closely linked to managed health care in the United States. The association is also the administrator for Social Security in a large number of states. Traditionally Blue Cross provides hospital coverage and Blue Shield provides medical coverage.

In different states Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies have different names. The names of the companies are Wellpoint, Carefirst, Healthcare service corporation, Highmark, Premera, The Regence Group, Wellmark, Blue Cross Blue Shield of various states, La Cruz Azul de Puerto Rico, Triple-S (in Puerto Rico) and The Canadian Association of Blue cross Plans ( In Canada).

It is very important to read all the fine print of the insurance plans as health insurance is usually required in cases of emergencies like accidents or during illness. During such a situation it would come as a nasty surprise if you find out a particular clause which denies insurance. Also the important phone numbers should be noted down for such emergencies. <bio>Keith George always writes about valuable news andamp; reviews.
