In fact, the renowned singers like Bob Wills, Willie Nelson, and George Strait have all sung their own versions of the Milk Cow Blues Tune.

The success and popularity of the country music can be credited to Vernon Dalhart record "The Wreck of Old 97," which was released in the year 1924 and was a huge success. This was when the Country music really took off.

To add more glory to the music form other singers like Riley Pucket, Fiddling John Carson and Charlie Poole joined the country western scene, making it more popular.
A singer is a singer, and one cannot argue that women or men are better. So women in music are no different from men in music. But since society likes to look at achievers from the gender point of view, one can say that when it comes to making music, women caught up pretty fast with their male counterparts than in other professions.

Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and many other singers of the 50's and 40's are well remembered although the same cannot be said for women singers during this period. In fact inclusion of women in mainstream music came about only in the 70's. This period also saw the Women's Music movement gain popularity. This movement was to promote music made by women, for women and about women. It helped create a positive image about women musicians as well as create opportunities for them in a male-dominated stream. Of course then on we have seen amazing women in music. From Dolly Parton to Jessica Simpson, Whitney Houston to Rihanna, Celine Dion to Christina Aguilera - they have captured people's hearts and fuelled their imagination with their voices and their looks.

Many listeners are of the opinion that women singers are more versatile and their voices are much richer than those of their male counterparts. Singers like Beyonce, Christina or Alicia Keys, Shakira are known for their strong vocals. Countering this, many others are of the opinion that women in music tend to become popular more because of their looks than talent. But popularity based on looks cannot last long, so there has to be something more about singers like Whitney Houston or Celine Dion who remain popular even after spending years in this profession.

Women singers come from every genre - Classical, Pop, Country even Rock. Although there are very few women rockers, they have still made their presence felt. Female rockers like Amy Lee and Gwen Stefani have a huge fan following today. The same, however, cannot be said of girl bands. When it comes to bands, there seem to be very few. The most popular girl band would have to be the spice girls. After them, it is hands down Destiny's Child. Bands like Pussycat Dolls or Sugababes are also quite popular but listeners are always very skeptical about how long girl bands last. Many are of the opinion that girl bands tend to have a shorter life span than boy bands due to the intensely competitive nature of women in music. This often comes in the way of a girl bands success.

It remains debatable however, whether women have it easier than men in this industry. Feminists are bound to scream 'yes', but the general populace is of the opinion that women are prone to harassment in almost all fields not just music. What might make them more vulnerable in the music industry is that its behavior is largely not accounted for or governed by anybody. However, existence of quite a few organizations in this field has helped women a great deal. In fact 'Women in Music' is a UK based membership organization that promotes women musicians and provides them with guidance, resources and opportunities to further their talent. A similar organization exists in the USA called International Alliance for Women in Music (IAWM) that spread awareness about women's contribution to music and promotes new talent among women musicians.
When I think of the Middle East, I think of a bunch of people walking around with long robes on covering all of their bodies. I also think of snake charmers and very simple musical instruments creating very simple musical tones. However the music scene in Pakistan has no resemblance of the picture I just described. Pakistani music has been redefined over the past decade, and turned into a more pop/rock genre than anything else. Some of the most famous singers in Pakistan have also been in movies. Does this sound similar to the entertainment industry in the United States? Here are a few of the most popular singers in Pakistan right now: Ali Azmat, Josh, and Natasha.

Ali Azmat is the lead singer of the band Junoon and is probably the most famous and loved musician in Pakistan. Fans travel from around the country to see his concerts and they cheer the entire time he is singing. His popularity rivals the Beatles during their hay day. The biggest reason that people love him in Pakistan is that he was a rags to riches story which everyone there can relate to. He decided to go after his dreams and after struggling for a while, was able to achieve them.

Josh has exploded on the pop/rock scene in Pakistan with his good looks and original sound. He blends traditional Pakistani music with the new pop/rock sounds of today. Josh is also very popular with many people all over the globe, because of his many remixes that he has performed with Nelly Furtado. I think that Josh will continue to stay popular with the younger generation in Pakistan, and might even top some of the charts in other places around the world.

Natasha is another very talented and beautiful musician from Pakistan. Her music is very smooth and sounds good in any situation. However to me the reason that she is so popular is because she is very beautiful. Pakistan is a great place, because they have slowly started to remove all of the restrictions placed on women and are allowing them to strive towards equality. All in all Pakistani music has evolved greatly recently, and they are starting to make a splash on the world stage. <bio>Visit our site for a New way to find Pakistani Music Videos, Friends and Pakistani entertainment: http://www.apnachill.com/ </bio>

So you want to be a good lead singer and front a popular band or even an orchestra? If your answer is yes, then do you have a distinctive singing style or are you singing songs with the style of other singers?

What I mean is that how are you going to be different and stand out from thousands of other bands and singers doing just cover versions and imitating the singing styles of their favorite bands and lead singers?

Here are some tips on how to develop your own distinctive singing style. Firstly, go view the performances of famous singers fronting their bands from various musical genres. Notice how distinctive they are as each singer deliver the songs with their own natural distinctive style.

Let us take a look at some of the more distinctive singers starting off with Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones. Take note of how he pouts his lips and strut cockily on stage exuding sex appeal and confidence at the same time. The style has become his distinctive trademark. It is Mick Jagger's personal branding and only imitators of Mick Jagger do what he does and imitators will remain just that, imitators.

Fronting your band and get noticed allboils down to personal branding so that you are perceived to be different from others and thus attract attention and notice.

I am sure that if I name you some more popular lead singers, you will immediately associate with that singer mentally having a clear mental picture of that singer during a performance.

Take Elvis Presley, Earth Wind and Fire, Bono of U2, Madonna, Kate Bush, Cindy Lauper, Michael Jackson and even The Village People for example. I believe that with each of these names, you will conjure up a mental images of the singers and how they perform. Why is that so? It is because of their distinctive singing style ie personal branding.

Next, take notice of how these singers keep time and rhythm when they move on stage? Watch which action, vocal range and style during the delivery of their songs appeal to the crowd and how they whip their audience into frenzy. Take note of their facial expressions and body language at each stage of the song and how they tell an emotional story with the lyrics of the songs that can get people teary eyed.

Then learn and borrow some of these traits from them, and develop them with your own unique style blended in.

Once you have developed your personal singing style, the next step is to rehearse with your band thoroughly. Your band must know what you want such as when do you want to bring the song to a climax or when to bring it down to tug at heartstrings, when to pause in order to create an impact and other technicalities of the songs you will be performing.

Go buy some good music sheets so that the band can play together with the same music sheets and scores. If you leave them to play by ear, the band members will interpret the songs in their own way and you will also waste time and energy to get the band to play tightly together. You don't want your band to listen too often to the original version either because by doing that, they will also be playing in the style of the original song and again, will not be distinctive. Do the musical arrangements yourself!

Once this is done, rehearse until the band and you are inseparable components of the song and when that is done, you are now ready to front a good band as its lead singer and get noticed as a singer in your own right! <bio>Chris Chew owns a learn music website at http://www.playmusicsing.com </bio>

The music scene these days is overcrowded with many musicians that do not have very much singing talent at all. The days of pure singers are over, and they are now replaced with many different kinds of sounds that are enhanced and created with sophisticated recording equipment.

Even when you go to see a musical act in concert, chances are the singer's voice and/or music in general is prerecorded. Then the singer just lip syncs the words and many people never know the difference. What ever happened to singers like Elton John, Sting, and Celine Dion? Now we have to listen to Kevin Federline, Kelly Osborne, and man-made bands like 98 degrees. However there are a few musicians that are still putting out very good music, and are still quite popular. Josh Groban is a wonderful singer and he has a different sound.

Josh Groban is probably most remembered for his performance on the 2001 season finale of Ally McBeal. However he has also performed on many soundtracks for movies and some special events as well. Josh Groban has a different sound, because he does not depend on any special effects to make his voice sound as good as it does. He just uses his strong and pure baritone voice to belt out the notes and produce wonderful music.

Josh has put out two records that have gone multi-platinum already, because his sound is very different from the other options currently available. I believe the number one reason that Josh Groban is so successful is his music can be loved and appreciated by almost anyone. There are people all over the world that love his music and would do almost anything to see him in concert. Josh Groban is also very popular with millions of young women, because of his wholesome good looks.

I know that the landscape of popular music is destined to continue changing, but I believe that musical acts like Josh Groban will be able to stay popular no matter what trend pops up next. <bio>Visit http://www.joshgrobanlive.com/ for free Josh Groban Videos and Josh's new album - Awake. </bio>

Fronting their own band is a dream of every beginner singer. So how can you front a band and develop your own band's own distinctive style of music and performance? How to at the same time developing your own individually unique singing style? How are you going to be distinguished and get noticed from those thousands of bands playing only cover versions of popular music and imitating their favourite bands and lead singers?

First thing to do is to view as many DVD performances of famous singers fronting their bands from the musical genre you have chosen as the forte of your band's music. Examine how distinctive and different they are from each other. Notice each band playing with their own style and song delivery. Take note of everyone's body language and what signals and vibes the famous bands and singers are sending out.

Let us take a look at some of these singers and bands. Take Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones for example. See how he pouts his lips and struts on stage cockily exuding sensual visuals and confident charisma at the same time. Those body language became his characteristics and singing charisma. In the advertisement world,it is called image branding.

If someone were to name you some popular singers, you will immediately associate a clear mental picture of that singer during a performance. That is how powerful your body language and distinctive branding can be. In otherwords, be different from the crowd by developing your own style of singing and performance.

Just try it. Close your eyes and when someone mentions to you these names, what do you see in your mental picture? Elvis Presley, Boy George, Bono of U2, Kate Bush, Cindy Lauper, Michael Jackson and even The Village People. Get the picture? (pun not intended, grin)

So, you must develop your own distinctive style of singing and stage performance to get noticed and create a brand for your band.

Learn from those excellent singers fronting their own bands. Learn from them how they keep time and rythym when they move on stage? Which action and movement during their performances that drew audience reactions? How do these singers whip their fans into a frenzy? What are the facial expressions at every stage of a song? How do they tell an emotional story from the lyrics of the songs that get people moved?

Learn and borrow some traits from these singers, and then develop them further with your own unique singing style blended in.

Once you have developed your personal distinctive singing style, the next step is to rehearse with your band. Your band must know what you want and this must be communicated before every rehearsal and reinforced. Things like when you want to bring the song into a climax, when to bring it down to tug at audience heartstrings, when to pause to create a dramatic impact...etc

Invest a little moeny in your band by buying some good music sheets so that the band can play together as a team with the same music sheets and scores. If you leave your band members to play by ear, all the band members will interpret the songs in their own way and you would have lost alot of time and energy to get the band to play tightly together.

Therefore you need to work closely with your band members since as a lead singer, you are probably the band leader as well. You then must insist that the band play the keys that you are comfortable to sing in, stick to the musical arrangements and follow the effects of the songs you want to portray.

Once this is done, rehearse until the band and you are inseparable components of the song, then you are there! You are now ready to front a good band as a lead singer, get recognized as a singer and band leader of distinction. <bio>Chris Chew is the owner of music websites http://www.playmusicsing.com and http://learnsingplaymusic.blogspot.com </bio>

Perhaps the most overlooked but a very effective way to jumpstart your singing career is to join singing contests such as the American Idol show and participating in singing talent search contests. This is because by joining popular singing contests, you will able to develop stage confidence and poise. If you are a good singer, you may even get the notice of singing talent scouts and club owners who may be able to offer you a career as a singer.

However, does participating in singing talent contests or even winning these contests guarantee you a sensational career as a professional singer? Well, the answer is no. Joining and winning contests is just the beginning. It is the catalyst of getting you known. Now, be careful here. It could get you a reputation of either a great singer or a hopeless one.

To have an excellent singing career, it will take time and hard work. Hoping to win singing contests will not guarantee that you will be the next singing star. However it does give you a jumpstart to get noticed as a singing talent.

Every professional and established singer knows that training and practice are vital to have a successful singing career. However, on top of that, abilities like having an ear for music, a natural flair in performing are also necessary ingredients to be a successful singer.

Many struggling career singers have good musical abilities, wonderful singing voices and even great stage presence and yet these professional singers are still not popular and are not making it big as a singer. Do you know why?

This is because a good professional singer also has to be business savvy and must know how to market themselves. That is why so many professional singers hire managers to do this for them so that they can just concentrate on their singing.

However, all the marketing in the world to brand you as a singing talent will not work if no one ever hears sing. This is where joining singing contests comes into the picture. Even when there are people hearing you sing, you still need to know whether they are enjoying your performance. In addition to your singing skills, you further need to have the X-factor that make people want to hear you sing and perform. The X-factor can be cultivated. Just look at how Clay Atkins was transformed from looking nerdy to becoming a confident superstar.

By joining singing contests, it gets your music to the public and people get to hear you sing. It is also a means of getting feedback from your audience on your singing skills and can assist you to mold and modify your singing style until the audience wants to hear more of you. When this happens, your singing career could very well take off exponentially.

Do you want to jumpstart your singing career? Then practice hard and join singing contests to showcase your singing talent to the world. <bio>Chris Chew teaches music.
While a good singing voice can be a good start for a singing career, the voice alone doesn't make a good singer. Being comfortable with the songs you are singing will show in terms of your self confidence.

Keep in mind that even successful singers have learned some techniques that is why they were able to maintain well-modulated singing voices. Singing isn't all based on talent. Lose all your inhibitions. Karaoke singing is a wonderful way to entertain yourself and the others.

When singing songs that are up tempo you don't need the technical ability it is more entertainment like karaoke. A good choice of song can make his performance better because the singer is comfortable with the song. Doing so, he'd be able to deliver the notes better, and feel the song best. A beautiful rendition of a song is noted most of the times, not because the singer has sung it well, but he did it with the right emotions overflowing. Doing so, he'd be able to deliver the notes better, and feel the song best.

Professional singers practice all the time, if you practice you will be amazed how you're breathing and voice improves when singing and making different tones. Singers have the ability to know how to breathe correctly when singing. When singers learn how to sing they do not sing from the throat they sing from the abdomen, the reason for this is because the abdomen is a large and strong muscle compared to the throat. Do not limit yourself to teachers close to home or work. Working with a coach that can bring out the best in your voice is the goal. While a good singing voice can be a good start for a singing career, the voice alone doesn't make a good singer.

Many people believe they can sing and they don't need voice lessons, the decision to go ahead and admit that lessons are needed is a big and important step. Once you train your voice it will become strong and vibrant and your voice will improve over time because you know the basics. It will be worth the extra distance. Find an environment where you can express yourself freely and one that offers open communication so training can be modified with your changing interests.

Singing is one practical way of expressing one's feelings. Possessing a skill in singing is also a good technique of overcoming shyness and gaining self-confidence. Singing is, indeed, one of the most profitable passions in the industry today.

Each day, a singer is born to the music industry. It isn't enough that you have been trained by the best music school or that you can shift from one musical genre to another.

Knowing the vocal quality of a singer will enable him to choose songs that are appropriate for his singing voice. Once an appropriate song has been chosen, the singer should take time to develop his own style. He shouldn't try to choose a difficult song which will just showcase his lack of singing prowess. A good choice of song can make his performance better because the singer is comfortable with the song. The voice produces sound; the technical explanation is that the chords called vocal chords vibrate which in turn produces sound. Singers use these vibrations to make different sounds at different frequencies which allow them to make variation of notes.

With all the talents available for the taking, making it big in the recording industry can be attributed more to a very good manager rather than on pure talent alone. Thus, singers should never question the importance of getting professional help to further their singing careers.

Taking into consideration the popularity of singing talent searches, good singers can actually make a successful career in the entertainment industry. <bio>David Marc Fishman helps performers get discovered at the online talent show.
The first step in voice training is awareness. I have heard some colleagues say that unless one has a specific speech problem, voice training is something solely for singers and perhaps actors. In summary, voice training is, most importantly, getting the performer to think outside the box. I learned how important breath control acquired through voice training is in music. So, how do you know if one on one voice training is for you, and how do you find a coach suited for your voice. In some cases formal voice training is valuable. Voice training is tedious. Proper voice training is essential so that you can learn to utilize this natural instrument without damaging it. Classical voice training is a plus factor.

The goal of this study is to define the long-term influence of vocal hygiene education and the effectiveness of voice training. This network provides a variety of high-quality vocal coaching and voice training tools. Vocal coaching for all levels and styles - pop, rock, urban, dance, music theatre and opera. Focus on breath control and expanding vocal range. Look for "vocal stress-busters" sprinkled throughout the internet. These are short songs to sing. Respect your vocal limits. So what makes you think that you do not need vocal lessons? Everyone can sing, but it is difficult to sing well without vocal training. Voice care is important for vocal health. Even a slight change in your vocal cords can render your voice unrecognizable.

With a music tutor, the performer may see whether he/she is singing at the correct pitch and how high the musical quality of his/her voice is. You will need to train to release the full potential of your voice. You can try books on singing, speech training and voice training. If you want to try it alone then I recommend the singing programs: 'Singing Success' or 'The Ultimate Voice Training for Singers'. If you are already singing professionally, then it is vital that you take up voice training to separate you from the crowd. You will need excellent, safe techniques for singing, speaking, and acting. The skill of directing the sound and holding it there during singing creates the artistry of proper voice training. Learn the same technique used by popular singing stars. A song based method for developing the singing voice. Performance training, group singing can help you project your singing voice. Start training and singing today.

Voice training is complex. To reach your full potential it takes a lot of practice. You will need to be dedicated to the art of singing. Make sure you take care of your voice and don't over do it. <bio>David Marc Fishman is the owner of http://www.bornasuperstar.com . http://www.bornasuperstar.com in the following categories, dancers, singers, magicians and comedians. </bio>

As a singer without any formal vocal training, you would probably have wondered whether to hire a vocal coach to train your singing voice. Well, your procrastination is hurting your singing career.

Just name me any famous singer who never had any vocal training? Yes, some of them may have gotten popular without any formal singing lessons but all these popular singers, without exception realized that they have to engage a vocal coach at one time or another take their spectacular singing career to superstardom and to stay up there.

So what makes you think that you do not need vocal lessons? If you are already singing professionally, then it is vital that you take up voice training to separate you from the mediocre singers. This is how you can get noticed when you are above the pack and above your singing competitors.

If others do not believe in vocal training and you do, then you would already have won because you will be singing much better and control higher fees for your performances.

You need to take care and respect for your voice. That is your musical instrument and your voice determines whether you succeed or fail in your singing career.

Finding a good singing teacher can be a little tricky. There are many so called vocal coaches out there proclaiming themselves to be singing teachers after merely reading up a few books. As this industry is not regulated, there are many charlatans out there.

The best way to determine a good singing teacher is to ask good singers. After all, they are already good singers themselves and their recommendation won't be all that bad isn't it?

However, since singing teachers are human beings, it is thus important that the teacher student relationship is good and you can get along your vocal coach. The chemistry between you and your coach must be good, otherwise when you are singing under stress, your voice will come out as very strained and that voice is awful to the ears. If you can't along with your singing teacher, then you may need to change your vocal coach.

One way of eliminating this human problem in learning how to sing is to get VCDs, DVD and video singing lessons of famous and proven vocal coaches. Not only is it much less expensive than hiring a vocal teacher, you can work at your own time and own pace. Since the teaching tools are yours, you can practice your vocal training anytime and anywhere. Better yet, you are learning from the best!

Most good singing coaches will have a vocal workout lessons plan for you. Learning how to breathe and use your diaphragm properly are the basics of a singer's inventory. You will find out how remarkable your voice can get when you mastered only these two singing exercises. Once you are using correct breathing and diaphragm control techniques, your singing voice and confidence will soar.

So, if want to bring your singing career to greater heights then go and get a vocal coach now and start practicing singing skills now. <bio>Visit Chris Chew's websites for more articles on singing and music. http://www.playmusicsing.com and http://learnsingplaymusic.blogspot.com </bio>

You love singing and know that you are destined to become a singer. You admire popular artists and wish your music could also be recognized. This has been a dream of yours since you can remember. Well, the good news is that you can achieve your dreams. All it takes is some hard work, goal setting, and a little luck.

Here is some information that will help you learn what you need to know to become a singer.

Develop your Voice. Without excellent vocal skills, your career will not amount to much. Practice as much as you can and work with a vocal coach. You will need to find a coach who understands your musical style and your goals and will also push you and challenge you. The goal is to turn you into not only a technical artist, but help you develop your potential.

Your Personal Style. When working with your vocal coach and practicing your voice, some attention should be paid to developing your personal style. If your goal is to sing jazz, learn technical jazz style singing but also learn to put your own special mark on the songs.

Write Some Music. Another essential step is to write some music, or have someone else write it for you if you don't have a particular talent for it. You can also work with someone who will help you get your ideas down and set them to music. Your goal is to write or help develop a collection of songs to perform and record.

Learn to Perform. Another essential step is to learn how to perform. When recording in the studio, you can easily cover up any flaws in your voice or in the music. If you mess up, you can start again. It takes a truly great singer to wow the audience while playing live. Resist the urge to lip synch. Though an astonishing number of performers do this, it is very hard to gain respect as an artist if you do this.

Get Even More Experience. Besides performing your own songs, it might be a great experience to join a chorale group, choir, or other singing ensemble to get more experience. A benefit to this is that you can learn how to interact with other singers and learn new songs and different techniques.

Record your Music. When you feel confident that you have mastered your songs, it is time to find a studio and some musicians to record your music. Depending on your goals, you can either put together a CD and sell it yourself or use this studio time to create a demo. Find someone to work with who understands your genre and has a track record for success.

Enter Contests. Entering contests and competitions is another great way to get exposure. These contests can really draw attention to your talent, especially if the contest is fairly big. Check your local area, any nearby cities, and watch for other events that may be televised. Agents and other industry professionals may lurk at these events, looking for the newest talent.

Don't Give Up. Unless you are extremely lucky from the beginning, you will probably face rejection from time to time. You may not win every contest you enter. In fact, you may not win any. Your demo may get lost in the mail or you won't get any responses. Don't give up. Success could be just around the corner and you won't know this if you don't stop trying.

Learn Other Skills. Depending on what style of singing you want to do, you may need to learn other skills. Pop singers need to learn how to dance. Folk singers should learn how to play the guitar. You may also want to learn the piano or electric guitar. Spend time working on these things without neglecting your voice- your true goal.

Find an Agent or Manager. It may also be worth your while to find an agent or a manager. They can help you get gigs, submit your demo to producers, and in general represent you. This can be very helpful because a lot of managers and agents have industry contacts. Just be careful to choose one that is sincere about their interest in you. <bio>David Marc Fishman has started http://bornasuperstar.com. Talented performers who fall into one of these categories, singers, musicians, bands, magicians, comedians and unique performers will submit a video, and the public will vote to deteremine the winner. </bio>

"How can I develop a vibrato singing voice?" This is a question often asked by aspiring singers. But firstly, what is actually singing in vibrato?

A vibrato is a slight variation of pitch tone caused by the free oscillation of the vocal foldss from an open pharynx (open throat) along with the healthy closure of the vocal cords with the use of good singing muscle support system.

However, there are many singers singing with wrong vibratos resulting in awful pitching and tones. This are usually the results of the oscillations being too slow, which is called a wobble and when it is too fast, called a tremolo.

We often hear singers who have a wide and slow vibrato which is actually a wobble. This phenomenon is usually caused by a lack of correct resistance of the breath pressure or a lack of focus in the singing tone. A wobble can also be caused by a lack of proper adduction of the vocal folds.

On the other hand, some singers developed an overly fast vibrato that sound just as awful as the wobble. This overly fast vibrato is called a tremolo and neither the wobble nor the tremolo is the desired vocal tone for good singing.

A tremolo can be caused by a pressure built up at the root of the tongue. This pressure can have its origin at inhalation or onset of sound production. It can also be the result of a lack of vocal cord approximation.

Many singers do not know that the vocal folds must close after inhalation. This lack of proper adduction of the cords can result in a faster vibrato speed and therefore, the creation of a tremolo. The improper use of the singing muscle support system is another cause for producing a tremolo voice.

A good vibrato is when the singing voice is vibrating at an even rate. An uneven vibrato may be the result of sudden changes in the sub-glottis breath pressure. These sudden changes in the air pressure is result of even "body resistance" from the singing support system. The vocal cords then begin to separate and vibrate unhealthily.

Most singers started off having a straight singing tone (no vibrato) before developing the vibrato through good vocal exercises. Some straight tone singers have even sung in choirs where their choir masters insisted that they sing in a straight tone.

Singing this way can be damaging to the singing voice as it put too much stress on the vocal cords and nodules can develop from singing in a straight tone over a period of time.

Good choral vocal blend can be developed through vowel and acoustical alignment but not squeezing the singing voice into straight tone. Most straight tone singers have problems with vocal cord closure because too much pressure has been held at the vocal folds over a period of time.

A good vibrato gets woven into the voice when the singer achieves proper balance in the support muscles and when the feeling of the "oo" vowel is sustained in the pharynx. The feeling of the "oo" vowel allows a healthy adduction of the vocal cords without too much pressure at the glottis.

A diaphragmatic vibrato is the when the diaphragm pulsates during a sustained tone to create a false vibrato. Many theatre singers develop this bad vocal habit so as to have some sort of vibrato when no vibrato is actually present. A diaphragmatic vibrato is difficult to reverse because the abdominal muscles memorize the pulsating sensation and develop a muscle memory. However, it can be corrected through time with proper vocal exercises.

A healthy vibrato can be developed in a rather short period of time with the right vocal exercises. How long does it take for a singer to develop a good and healthy vibrato voice is usually dependent on the singer's mind/body coordination.

So if you want to develop a good vibrato singing voice, then go look for a good singing teacher or get the right vocal exercises and start practicing. <bio>Chris Chew runs a music website at http://www.playmusicsing.com </bio>

Some singers catapulted to stardom rather quickly, some sparkled, flickered a little and then faded into obscurity while most singers stayed the same for years if not forever at mediocrity level?

Why is it that most singers never make it big in their singing career, not to say becoming superstars? Well, for starters, most singers begin their career as a lounge singer, singing in small clubs and belting out cover versions of established and popular singers. They selection of songs will be dictated by their audiences and so they must cover a wide genre of songs.

At one moment, you can enjoy a Barbara Streisand ballad and then the next song will be a fast Chaka Khan number followed by latin inspired Michael Buble's 'Sway'. Yes, it is good to be versatile and able to sing songs of various styles and genre. In fact it is even admirable if you can sing a Celine Dione number and sounded like Celine and then a Frank Sinatra swing sounding like ol' blue eyes himself.

However, as a famous vocal coach, Brett Manning once said, 'I have coached dozens of young women who can now sing almost exactly like Celine Dion. But then again, who wants a counterfeit when the real Celine Dione is already available?' This quote is taken from Brett's article 'How to build a successful singing voice'.

In other words, most singers just take it as part of their job to sound like the original cover versions of songs and never try to create a distinctive sound and style of their own. Now, if all singers sounded alike, how would you get noticed and recognized for who you are? How to make it big as a singer when you can only sing other people's song and imitate other singer's style of singing?

Let me ask you a question, how many times have you heard a song being sung and immediately able to identify the singer although you have never heard that particular song performed by the singer? Many times isn't it? Why? Because every prolific singer's voice and style are like their thumbprint. It is distinguishable from the rest of the pack. That is why they stand out and get noticed.

If you want your singing voice to get noticed and make it big as a singer, develop a distinctive style and voice of your own. After all, you have sung so many singer's style that you can use these influences to develop your own and stand out from the crowd.

Till next time, happy singing. <bio>Chris Chew is a personal development trainer and is still jamming and singing with bands at his leisure.
If you listen to today's music on the radio, you will hear a wide variety of songs and beats. You even nowadays hear people singing over hip hop beats, and people rapping over randb beats! The two genres are blending a lot in today's music. One of the mistakes that many underground rap artists make is, they are so concerned about being what they call "real" as in being gangsta or hard.

It seems like they are more concerned about being "real" then they are about selling records and making money. So they use only beats that are hard and "gangsta" sounding. They talk about shooting and killing over these hard rap beats. It's ok for them to do this if this is what they want, but every song on the album can't be that way if they want to be a successful multi-platinum selling artist. If you want to get your music on the radio, and on BET or MTV, you have to have at least a few singles, that are more commercial.

A lot of artists don't do this, and they miss out on a whole entire market of possible customers! The goal is to capture the attention of these people through mass media such as the radio and tv, so that they will purchase the album. Once they buy the album, they will then have access to the rest of your different styles.

Keep This in Mind:

People in the streets will burn your CD! Listeners from the Radio and T.V. will buy your CD! Which one do you think will get you to Platinum Status Faster? My artists are going to sell 200,000+ CD's this year! How about you?

So the point is, if your goal is to capture as many sells as you can, then you have to make music that everybody can listen to. You can't make music only for the streets. You have to make it for the streets, the club, the radio/tv, and for the car. That way, you can receive sells and money from all of those different markets, instead of just from the streets. Today's hit music has one thing in common: No matter how stupid it may sound, it is catchy. Don't believe me? Listen to Laffy Taffy! It may get horrible ratings from a lot of Hip-Hop Heads, but the girls love it, and it sticks with you. Think about it: How many times have you talked about it with someone since the song came out? How many times have you listened to it when it came on the radio just to see how stupid it was? <bio>Aaron B is a full-time music producer/composer in most music genres, and also the owner of http://www.aaronbeats.com, where singers and rappers can download hip hop beats, randb beats, and rap beats.
We all know what the Apple iPod is capable of. Of course, one is able to download, store and play an almost infinite number of songs on just about any version of the iPod. And for more advanced users, there are iPods capable of playing movies and videos, and can display pictures as well. Indeed, the iPod is a fantastic item for someone to bring all of their favorite songs and singers with them wherever they go. Yup, the iPod pretty neat in that regard.

So, why would you want to waste the capabilities and abilities of your iPod on stuff you already know and like?

Okay, so there's an absolutely favorite song that you just can't live without and must have with you at all times or else you may just die. That makes sense, so go ahead, put that song on your iPod. But, even though it's easy, effective and enjoyable to plaster your iPod full of familiar songs, that's incredibly boring and bland. It's like going to a high-end car dealer to test drive a Porsche, but you pout with your arms folded because you want to drive a Tempo. What have you got to lose, besides experiencing and discovering something new?

The same principle can apply to the iPod. The iPod is designed to store songs downloaded from a computer onto it. So, take advantage of that and download and listen to every song and artist that you've heard of and wanted to hear. Depending on how you download music, it'll cost you nothing, or it'll cost you about a buck a song. If you're paying for your downloads (good for you), set aside some money for new chances and discoveries.

Remember the old days of buying tapes and CD's? You had to purchase the entire album in order to get the opportunity to listen to it. And, if you found that the artist or album wasn't to your liking =96 or just plain sucked =96 well, too bad for you, because most record stores wouldn't take the album back. Many people complained that this wasn't particularly fair, but, hey, that's the way it was.

Now, the technology exists to listen to just about anything you want wherever you want. So, what do most people do? Download the popular song of the day and listen to it non-stop on their iPod, even though it gets played on the radio every 14 seconds. Now, there's nothing wrong with that at all =96 it's your iPod, do what you want with it. But, the opportunity now presents itself where you can take a chance and discover something you've always wanted to hear, without any risk to you.

Another great thing about the iPod is its portability. If you want to really get to know and understand a particular artist that you're interested in, you can download the songs onto your iPod and listen to them wherever you want, whenever you want. So, you don't have to listen to small sample in a crowded record store, or listen on your computer while you're doing seven other things at the same time. You can get the tracks on your iPod, go for a walk or sit quietly and really immerse yourself and decide if you really like the songs and singers or not.

The iPod is a tremendously convenient and fun device to have. That being said, some people aren't really exploring the limits of their iPod because they don't realize that the iPod is designed to play music =96 all kinds and forms of music. <bio>Pat Flouster is a music lover who jams his iPod with all kinds of music and artists.
Those wishing to break into the music industry and specifically into jingle and session singing, are many in number. Why is it that some with little gift and ability make it, and not only make it but develop an impressive clientele for show, and still others with incredible singing style and motivation never even getting the slightest inkling of approval from music insiders? Those are great questions, and while I will attempt to provide you with insight as to how to not only get noticed, but to break into commercial session singing, I will admit that there are not always answers to some of these million dollar questions. I would be lying if I told you otherwise. As a former talent booking agent with the William Morris Agency and as a professional singer singing on numerous commercials and backup vocals for many artists, there are times when you scratch your head and say, "I don't have the slightest clue." But let's take a look at some key ideas and concepts to get you to your goal of breaking into session singing.

You've developed your voice and have been told umpteen times through the years that you should be singing commercials. You've always smiled, said thank you and have dismissed the idea because certainly you could never break into singing commercials - Or can you? Now the idea is haunting you to the point of if you could just figure out the whole singing deal, what it takes and how much money you would have to spend and if reasonable, you might just give it a try. There are many singers in this stage. I must admit that I talk to multiple individuals each week who want to be a session singer or singing commercials and the only thing that is truly holding them back is the vision. It's not so much money, but the drive and ambition to say, "I'm going to do this thing." Your first hurdle to jump is the idea that you can and should be singing commercials.

Your next item on your to do list is your jingle reel. We just mentioned that most individuals do not grab hold of their dream to sing commercials because of a lack of drive and ambition. But do you know what really camouflages the drive and ambition -- money. I know people with limited money and income who are willing to spend $7 - $10 on appetizers a couple of times a week and who knows how much on alcohol, but yet they don't have the money to invest in their singing career. At ReelMusician.com we have always tried to not only further singers and their careers, but the ability to offer affordable jingle singing demos. Our demos start at (3) jingles $290, (5) $380 and (7) jingles $495. Now you do the math -- Divide the number of jingles that are written specifically for that singer and that's pretty darn affordable. We don't get rich writing jingles for singers trying to break into the market. Think of all of the money that is wasted week in and week out, yet individuals choose to stay in their mundane and unchallenging jobs because, "they don't have the money." You heard me right -- Individuals choose to stay right where they are and so we can't, nor should we invest time in those individuals.

But there are individuals with the dream and are willing to invest a reasonable amount of time, money and energy. Those singers we love to try to help, even if they don't purchase a thing from us. We really like to see people succeed. So what should your demo consist of? You will want to include as many jingles on your reel that you can afford. Obviously, the more jingles you have, the more styles and versatility that you can demonstrate hopefully opening up more session and singing doors. From the date of this writing, I don't know of many other companies, and I can't even honestly jot down one that writes jingles specifically for session and jingle singers. Now we do at ReelMusician.com and I'm sure there are others out there. I'm not talking about jingle companies who write commercials for other companies, but music houses that write specifically for the singer and their demos. You should plan on investing $500 - $1,000 to get a quality demo done, and I'm sure you can spend a whole lot more than that. But I know that's reasonable, because we're in that range of pricing at ReelMusician.com.

Once you have your incredible jingle reel in hand, not the, "We recorded this at my friend's house" demo, but the jingle reel that says "Wow! Your jingle reel that you are sending out has got to grab the attention of the jingle houses. Unfortunately, there are many individuals out there who try to take the "My friend's recording studio," approach and fail to miss the what is needed musically on their reel. Listening to the radio and TV and emulating those commercials will most likely not get it. Jingles that go on a singer's jingle reel, when they are first starting out, are sometimes completely different - Why? Because you have got to grab the attention of the jingle producers and industrial music houses. This is sometimes in juxtaposition as to current jingles airing on radio and TV.

Once you have your incredible jingle reel in hand you will be getting together with other jingle singers in your area that you are not in direct competition with vocally and jotting down names and number of producers and writers in your area. You will also submit your reel to jingle houses in your area along with industrial music houses and recording facilities in general. Make sure that you have a system in place for tracking your calls and contact numbers. Your demo cover should be readable, with colors that attention grabbing and with your name contact info and year and season of reel.

Many singers get into the business just as I have described, by following up with other session singers in their area and are very successful. The most important aspect to your singing dream is obviously your reel. Make sure it shines and commands the "Wow" factor.
