Foot corn treatment can generally be implemented with over the counter medications. Treatment should begin immediately when the foot corn appears.

A foot corn is an area of thickened skin that occurs in areas of pressure. In the foot, the skin will thicken up to protect itself when the areas of high pressure have not been eliminated. Eventually, you will experience a great deal of pain in the foot at the area of the corn.

Foot corns appear as a thickening on the top of your toes. Hard corns are normally located on the outer surface of the little toe or can also be found on the surface of other toes. Foot corns can often appear in between the toes.

The first step in foot corn treatment is to eliminate the source of pressure. Sounds simple enough... right?

First you should avoid wearing tight fitting shoes as this will allow your feet to breath as well as reducing the pressure on your foot; pressure that can over time cause a foot corn to develop. Tight fitting shoes can rub against your feet causing extreme pressure and pain... and remember reducing pressure on certain areas of the foot is one of the easiest ways to avoid a foot corn.

Beginning foot corn treatment options would consist of placing a moleskin pad over the foot corn to relieve pressure around the foot corn. Remember, corn paint, cure or plasters will only treat the symptom and not get to the root cause of the problem.

You have to relieve the cause of the pressure.

Soaking your foot corn with warm water and Epsom salt for at least five minutes, three times a day will help to soften the corn. Another common foot corn treatment is using a pumice stone on the corn which will file it down and it will begin to remove part or all of the corn.

Applying lanolin-enriched lotion to help the skin become soft around the corn can also be an option. Lanolin enriched lotion will work underneath the skin allowing the foot corn to soften up. Again, these are all easy ideas for treatment for corns.

Important Note: Treating foot corns by using removing ointments that contain acid can damage healthy skin on the other areas of the foot. Also, if the foot corn is open and discharging pus or a clear fluid it may be infected and you will need to seek medical treatment for a complete evaluation. <bio>For more important information on http://www.sore-foot-remedies.com visit sore-foot-remedies.com where you will find advice on foot pain causes such as http://www.sore-foot-remedies.com/mm/corns/foot_corns.html, ingrown toenails, and other articles </bio>

Summer is coming, and one of the most anticipated treats is the delight of enjoying a fresh ear of sweet corn brushed with melted butter. Corn on the cob is delicious, but there's more than one way to serve fresh corn. Along with the corn harvest comes a big variety of other vegetables and dishes.

When you cut the corn from the cob, the possibilities for preparing corn are endless. You can add it to bread to make a wonderful spoon bread recipe, or a great Southern favorite, corn pudding. Corn combines well with other summer vegetables such as tomatoes, bell peppers and onions. The secret to a great dish is to use the freshest corn available. The less time that passes between the garden and the finished recipe the better.

When you're selecting corn, choose ears with tight, green husks and tender milky looking kernels that are evenly spaced on the ear and firm enough to puncture if you squeeze it a little. If you're not going to be preparing your corn immediately after you get it home, then buy it with the husks and put it in the refrigerator to prevent the sugar in the corn from turning to starch and tasting less than sweet. If your recipe calls only for kernels of corn, remember that two average size ears will usually give you about one cup of corn kernels.

Here's a delicious summer corn recipe to try out this year.

Corn and Tomato Casserole

8 slices bacon, cut in half 2 c soft breadcrumbs 2 c peeled, chopped fresh tomatoes 1 med green pepper, chopped 3 c fresh corn cut from cob tsp salt tsp sugar tsp pepper c butter, melted

Place half of bacon in a shallow 2 qt casserole, and top with 1 c breadcrumbs. Layer half of tomatoes, green pepper, and corn over breadcrumbs; sprinkle with half of salt, sugar and pepper. Repeat layers of the veggies and seasoning. Combine the melted butter and remaining 1 c breadcrumbs, stirring well; spoon evenly over casserole. Top with remaining bacon; bake at 375 F for 40-45 minutes. Serves 8. <bio>Sherry Frewerd publishes 'Family Crock Pot Recipes' http://familycrockpotrecipes.com where you can find quick and easy slow cooker recipes to simplify your life.
The most popular alternatives for whole house or supplemental heating are corn and wood pellet fueled stoves. These appliances are easy to operate and the initial capital outlay is significantly less than solar, wind or geothermal systems.

A vital question to ask before you start evaluating the merits of pellet vs corn stoves should be: andquot;Which fuel, corn or wood pellets, is the most readily available in my locale and therefore the cheapest to burn?andquot;

For instance, in Massachusetts corn for fuel is virtually non-existent. The closest Agway store I contacted (3/2/06) had only eleven, 50 pound bags in stock at a price of $9 each or $360 a ton.

Over the course of a New England heating season, a stove will consume 3 tons of fuel. If you compare this to $260 a ton for wood pellets from a well stocked Connecticut supplier, the wood pellet stove becomes your only choice.

Likewise, if you live in Iowa, why would you buy a wood pellet stove?

In some regions of the country, such as Wisconsin and Minnesota, there is usually an abundance of wood pellets and corn. The obvious benefit is the ability to switch between fuels when one of them becomes scarce.

A perfect example is this year's wood pellet shortage. Do you think Wisconsin pellet stove owners had to think real hard about where to get corn when the supply of wood pellets ran low?

However, Nancy Koval, owner of Woodburning Warehouse in Watervliet, New York, warns that when burning corn in a wood pellet stove it is best to use a 50/50 mixture of wood pellets and corn.

The problem is clinkers. When corn is burned it leaves behind a substance from the sugars it contains that when cooled is very hard and stays in the burner. The clinkers must be regularly cleaned out of the stove. Some special corn stoves are designed to automatically clear clinkers, Koval said.

Wood pellet and corn stoves have many common traits. They are comparably priced at around $2000 for a unit large enough to heat 1200-1500 square feet, and share an efficiency rating of approximately 80%. Corn and wood pellets also produce an equal amount of heat per pound of fuel.

Please note: Since most house layouts do not allow the free movement of air through the house, a centrally located stove will not heat the whole house. If your home doesn't have an open floor plan, size the stove to heat the room where the stove is located.

Both types of stoves require electricity to run fans, controls, and the auger that feeds corn or wood pellets into the stove's firebox. Under normal usage, they consume about 100 kilowatt-hours (kWh) or about $9 worth of electricity per month. Unless the stove has a back-up power supply, the loss of electric power results in no heat and possibly some smoke in the house.

In addition to periodic ash disposal, both corn and wood pellet stoves have an annual maintenance regimen that must be followed to ensure your stove continues to operate as efficiently as the day you bought it.

The storage of corn, as opposed to wood pellets, can be problematic. Owners of corn burning systems who store corn inside their homes need to use tight storage containers, clean up corn spills immediately, and avoid storing corn for long periods of time to prevent problems with rodents and stored grain insects.

A third option to consider is a multi-fuel stove. Typically they are advertised as corn stoves that also burn wood pellets or vice versa.

The #1 selling multi-fuel stove is the Dansons Group Cheap Charlie Model HCCC2GD corn stove that also burns wood pellets. <bio>Get your Cheap Charlie Stove at http://www.Alternative-Heating-info.com </bio>

I am pretty sure that many of you have had a hard ridge of skin on your toes especially your little toe. This hardness if skin can be a corn. Foot corns grow on our toes in response to our body's demand for protection against the pressure and friction that is being applied on that area. This is a normal body condition and it is not very serious unless it becomes an ulcer.

There are different medical names that foot corns are known by. They are hyperkeratosis, clavus, heloma and tyloma. A foot corn will grow where there is pressure applied onto the skin. The friction of a foreign object against that tender area will cause the body to develop a layer of hard skin in that place. As time passes and the pressure and friction has not been removed the hard skin has formed into a cone shape with a hard center.

After a certain amount of time the corn will be treated by your body as a foreign object and the body will begin to reject the corn. There are two types of foot corns, these are hard corns which grow on your toes and soft corns which grow between your toes. Soft foot corns are given the title soft due to the fact that the moisture that is between the toes contributes toward the softness of the corn.

There are a few ways that foot corns can develop on your feet. They are wearing shoes that are too tight and constricting, biomechanical or gait abnormalities, and hammer toes or other foot deformities. Hammer toes can cause the growth of foot corns because there is an area where increased pressure is applied to the toe, this will cause the foot corns. Biomechanical or gait abnormalities can cause corns to form due to the pressure that is being applied when an individual with those problems walks.

The best way to treat foot corns is to remove the pressure that is being applied to them and let your foot slowly begin to heal itself. Once the foot corn is completely gone the most sensible way to prevent foot corns from reforming on your toes is to wear correct shoes that do not rub against your skin and ones that aren't too tight.

As many of us have had problems with foot corns it is best to deal with the problem as soon as possible. While there are a number of medications and topical lotions that you can try, the best way to see about completely removing any stubborn foot corns is to let your podiatrist see what can be done safely and properly. By consulting a podiatrist you will be able to eliminate the problems of foot corns once and for all. <bio> http://www.herbalremedieslk.com/home_remedies.html , http://www.herbalremedieslk.com/home_remedies.html , http://www.myanxietyguide.com </bio>

This second article by Absolute Futures will explain the commercial production of ethanol. Ethanol is a product of fermentation. Fermentation is a sequence of reactions which release energy from organic molecules in the absence of oxygen. In this application of fermentation, energy is obtained when sugar is changed to ethanol and carbon dioxide.

Changing corn to ethanol by fermentation takes many steps. Starch in corn must be broken down into simple sugars before fermentation can occur. In earlier times, this was done by chewing the corn.

This allowed the salivary enzymes to naturally break down the start. Today, this is achieved by cooking the corn and adding the enzymes alpha amylase and gluco amylase.

Once a simple sugar is obtained, yeast is added. Yeast is a single-celled fungi which feeds on the sugar and causes the fermentation. As the fungi feeds on the sugar, it produces alcohol (ethanol) and carbon dioxide. In fermentation, the ethanol retains much of the energy that was originally in the sugar, and explains why ethanol is an excellent fuel.

Most ethanol production in the United States is made in 50 production facilities in 20 different states. Most of these plants are located in the Midwest.

Changing the starch in kernels of corn to sugar and changing sugar to ethanol is a complex process and requires a mix of technologies that include microbiology, chemistry and engineering.

Ethanol is produced from corn by using one of two standard processes: wet-milling or dry-milling. Dry-milling plants cost less to build and produce higher yields of ethanol, but the value of co-products is less. Most of the ethanol plants in the U.S. utilize a dry-milling process. The wet-milling operation is more elaborate because the grain must be separated into its components.

After fermentation, the ethanol is removed from the mix of ethanol, water, yeast, and residue. It is then purified through distillation. The distilling process takes advantage of the low boiling point (78C.) of ethanol. When the temperature of the mix is increased slightly higher than the boiling point, the ethanol evaporates. It is then captured as a gas vapor and condensed back to a liquid. Other chemicals are added and molecular sieves are used to purify the ethanol.

Advances in technology are being made to further reduce the large amounts of energy needed for distillation. These advances help to reduce the costs and make producing ethanol much more economical. <bio>This article has been written by Sandra Case, who is Vice President Commodity Research for Absolute Futures Commodity Brokerage.
The Bixby corn stove was introduced to the market in 2002 by Bob Walker. His name may not ring a bell, but the Sleep Number Bed, which he also invented, surely will.

Walker's vision of 21st century heating also includes a bio mass pellet that can be manufactured locally from whatever resources are available such as crop or animal waste. The pellets would be distributed in much the same way heating oil is delivered.

Although Mr. Walker's vision may not become reality tomorrow, today's Bixby corn burning stove is already in its third generation.

What really sets this stove apart from the competition is its ease of use and exceptional 97% fuel efficiency rating. At 97%, the Bixby is 12-17% more efficient than any other pellet stove on the market.

To put it another way, the Bixby stove consumes 12-17 % less fuel to generate the same amount of heat produced by similar sized stoves.

Another benefit of nearly 100% efficiency is less ash. Actually, there is no fly ash at all. Rather, an ash cake about 3 inches round is automatically expelled from the burn pot into the ash drawer twice a day. With little waste to dispose of, the ash drawer needs to be emptied only once a week.

Other drawbacks associated with owning a pellet fueled stove have also been thoughtfully eliminated.

Rather than using kindling to start the fire, the Bixby uses a flameless, hot air vortex system. Just push the ON button, and the stove automatically dispenses the necessary amount of corn to ignite the fire pot in minutes.

While traditional pellet stoves use an auger to feed the fuel into the burn pot, the Bixby Ferris Wheel design feeder system rejects foreign materials that cause jamming.

The hopper on the Bixby corn stove holds 106 pounds of dry shelled corn, wood pellets or Bixby Certified Biomass Pellets. This is sufficient capacity for once a day loading. Even on the coldest days, the stove burns only 1.5 bushels of corn.

A stove owner from eastern Iowa says he heats his entire 2,100 square foot home with the Bixby stove aided by ceiling fans running in reverse to help distribute the warm air. The total cost to heat his home for the entire winter was only $250.

Depending on the outside temperature, 8 different push button heat levels are available from 8,000 to 50,000 BTU's. This feature is useful in controlling fuel consumption when the outdoor temperature is fluctuating during season changes.

Bixby Energy Systems backs the quality of its MaxFire 115 with an industry best 7 year limited warranty on workmanship/materials as well as a 4 year warranty on mechanical/electrical. Regional service technicians are also available to fine tune the operation of your stove according to climate and altitude.

As the title of this article implies, these stoves don't come cheap. Bixby's latest, the Model 115, is priced from around $3,995 and gets more expensive with the addition of deluxe trim options.

Buying any pellet stove to supplement or replace your existing heating system is a major decision. For many homeowners, spending the extra $1800 for a Bixby corn stove is simply out of the question.

Many consumers still prefer the looks of a traditional corn stove over the Bixby, which makes considering the additional expense a moot point. <bio>http://www.Alternative-Heating-Info.com provides unique information for geothermal heating and cooling, outdoor furnaces, corn boilers, radiant heat, solar heating systems, fireplace inserts, and cheap pellet stoves. </bio>

Foot corns develop as a result of increased pressure on a particular area of skin causing it to become thickened and hard. Corns often appear on the tops of the toes, the sole of the feet or even in between the toes. Because of the constant increased and localized pressure on a specific area of the foot generally from poorly fitting shoes, the skin begins to react in a protective fashion and forms a corn. These corns can be either hard or soft in nature.

Corns on the tops of the toes are generally hard whereas the ones found in between the toes are more often soft in nature. A very common location of corns is on the outside of the little toe, most often seen in women, particularly those wearing fashionable yet ill-fitting shoes which because of the tight and narrow toe box cause an increased friction and pressure on the outside of the toe. Other common forefoot problems can also occur such as the development of bunions or hammertoes.

Corns generally appear as a round, hard areas and generally occur on the areas of the feet which bear the most pressure. Foot corns are caused by a variety of issues such as ill-fitting shoes, hammertoes, other conditions causing an abnormal gait, or even bunions. It is important for your physician to assess your feet to accurately diagnose the exact type of foot malady present. Plantar's warts, calluses or foot corns may appear the same yet they each require specific treatment and so it is important to have an accurate diagnosis prior to treatment.

Foot corns may be treated in a variety of ways, including those that you can implement at home and those that require a physician's intervention. Gel toe tubes and soft toe rings provide cushioning for corns giving temporary relief. Using a pumice stone to gently buff away at the thickness of the foot corn can also provide temporary relief.

Stretching your shoes or replacing them with properly fitting shoes can be the best solution to preventing the development of future corns. Addressing other health issues that may cause an abnormal gait leading to excessive pressure on your feet can also be of help. Your physician can provide foot corn treatment in the office by using a scalpel to shave off the top of the corn to reduce the toughened and hard skin. Your physician may also suggest the use of a salicylic acid on the corn itself to soften the skin and reduce its size.

Foot corns are bothersome and painful. Prevention is the key and best solution. However there are numerous options available for foot corn treatment involving both easy to implement ideas that you can use at home to treatments requiring your physician's assistance. <bio>For more important information on foot pain be sure to visit http://sore-foot-remedies.com where you will find advice and tips on common foot pain causes such as plantar fasciitis, hammertoe, and other articles that you can view at http://www.sore-foot-remedies.com </bio>

Most kids view a garden without much enthusiasm they see vast amounts of terrible things like broccoli, spinach and turnips. Couple the dreaded vegetables with the thought of pulling weeds and most kids will run for cover. I can certainly remember what seemed like endless hours spent in my parents gardens using a hoe and picking string beans I hated green beans and it was like cruel and inhumane punishment to make me pick green beans and then force me to eat them.

Today most people have a garden for fun or just to have some fresh vegetables in the summer I do not think as many people have the giant gardens that provided food for the family for the entire year. Several things can be done to make gardening fun and interesting for young kids. One of the first things is to make the overall garden experience a positive one don't force your kids to spend long hours in the garden start with a few minutes at a time remember kids have a short attention span.

Second try to find and focus in on your childs interest if your child likes corn put them in charge of the corn get them involved right from the start they can help pick out the seeds try growing different types of corn don't forget you can grow pop corn. By putting them in charge and being supportive they feel more like they have some power or control over the garden and when you are eating the corn they raised, praise them and they will feel proud and will be looking forward to gardening in the next season.

If your child is interested in birds you can dedicate a portion of your garden to your child to grow things that provide food for the birds over the winter. Sunflowers are a great source of bird food. The high rate of growth coupled with giant size sunflowers make an excellent choice for a young child to grow even as an adult it is hard not to look in wonderment t a giant sunflower. Wheatgrass is also a good source of food for birds that can grow most anyplace. Check with your seed supplier for bird food plants that can be raised in your area.

The biggest thing is to keep your child interested in the garden don't make it seem like work. Use the garden time to teach your child about the world thy live in show them how some

insects like lady bugs and praying mantis are good for your garden and other bugs can be harmful to your plants. Explain how all insects are important to keeping the eco system in balance. As long as gardening is kept fun your children they will want to be involved and you can enjoy some quality time with the whole family. <bio>Megan Cherry writes articles for http://www.pegandrail.com </bio>

There are three simple verses in Proverbs which go "against the grain" as far as this worlds economic system is concerned. We must heed these three simple verses and act on them if we want to amass wealth on an Abrahamic scale.

Prov 11:24-26 24There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. 25The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. 26He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it. (KJV)

The above Scriptures show the activities of the man whom God prospers. In other words, there are some things we must do to come into Abrahamic prosperity.

First, we must learn to scatter. This means we must give away (to God and to others) a portion of what we possess and earn. This will cause us to increase.

Second, we must not withhold more than we should according to God's laws of increase. This is the opposite of what we have been taught all our life. This is what makes sense to our human mind, i.e., "we must save, save, save" in order to get ahead.

But notice God's way. He said this "tends to poverty!" For these who fail to give as they should, even the people around them curse them.

Third, God promises two things to the liberal soul who scatters and waters according to His Abrahamic law of Increase. (1) He promises to make him fat. (2) He promises to give him ample water.

These two things mean that God assumes responsibility for the accumulation of wealth for those who follow His simple prescription above. In other words, follow these three rules and you do not have to worry about wealth again. God will see to it. He promised.

There is another thing in the above Scriptures. When we scatter to the needy, God causes blessing to come to those who release the corn they need. Blessing always includes healing, prosperity, family well being as well as salvation for the Abrahamic Seed Group.

Consequently, a saved person that distributes "corn" to the needy, can expect to possess healing, prosperity, and well being for his family in addition to his salvation.

You see, "bless" translates a Hebrew word that means "the beneficial endowment of God's power to produce well-being in every area of a person's life." In the Abrahamic covenant, this word "bless" contains healing, prosperity, family well being in addition to salvation.

Do you need a financial blessing? Do you need healing? Do you need family wellness? Distribute your corn to the poor. This doesn't make sense according to the world's economic system. Nevertheless, it is the miracle working power of God according to heaven's economic system.

Scatter! Be liberal! Distribute the corn! These three things unlock heaven's prosperity laws. They also contain healing, and family well being as well as prosperity. <bio>Dr. Jay Snell authored eleven books proving the healing, prosperity, family well being, eternal security, pretribulation rapture and salvation provided for Christians in the Abrahamic covenant. These books presented many times on TBN. http://www.jaysnell.org </bio>

Companion planting in your vegetable garden is a great way to increase the size of the crop you will have when it comes time to harvest. The right combination of vegetables planted together improves growth, reduces disease, encourages beneficial insects to thrive in the garden, and discourages pests.

But companion planting vegetables does have it's drawbacks, as some vegetables are much more fussy than others about who they are planted next to. This simple guide will help you with a few of the more common combinations you should keep in mind when companion planting vegetables.

Asparagus get on well with most vegetables, but their ideal companions are tomato, parsley and basil.

Bush beans like potatoes, cucumber, corn, strawberries and celery, but hate onions. On the other hand, pole beans are a little more selective =96 they only like corn and radishes, and hate beets as well as onions.

The cabbage family (broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower and kale to name a few) like many companions - beet, celery, cucumber, lettuce, onion, potatoes and spinach. But they have a few hates as well - dill, strawberries, pole beans and tomatoes.

Carrots get on well with a wide variety of vegetables - peas, lettuce, rosemary, onions, sage and tomatoes. Just keep them away from dill.

Celery is also a very accepting vegetable, liking onions, the cabbage family, tomatoes and bush beans. Like asparagus, they don't hate any vegetables.

Keep your corn away from tomatoes, but to keep it happy plant it near potatoes, beans, peas, pumpkins, cucumber and squash.

Cucumber doesn't like being near aromatic herbs or potatoes, but plant it near beans, corn or peas and it will be happy.

Lettuce is an accepting plant, not hating any vegetables but appreciating being planted next to carrots, strawberries and cucumbers.

Onions generally like being planted next to beets, carrots, lettuce and the cabbage family, but keep them away from beans and peas if you want good results.

Peas like being planted next to carrots, turnips, cucumbers, corn and beans, but be sure to not plant them near onions or potatoes.

Speaking of potatoes, you should plant them near beans, corn and members of the cabbage family for best results, and make sure they are away from pumpkins, squash, tomatoes and cucumbers.

Finally the humble tomato - one of the more popular summer vegetables for the gardener to grow. For the best results plant them near onions, asparagus, carrots, parsley or cucumbers, but keep them well away from potatoes or members of the cabbage family.

This isn't a fully comprehensive list =96 obviously there are many more types of vegetables available for you to plant in your vegetable garden, and this article could easily double or triple in size if we tried to include everything. But this list of the more common vegetables should be a good start in helping you plan the layout of your vegetable garden for the next year.

So give companion planting in your vegetable garden a try. You'll find you'll have happier, healthier plants in your vegetable garden, which in turn will give you tastier vegetables to feed you and your family. <bio>Find out more about companion planting and many other gardening topics at http://garden.bemiso.com - learn how you can make your garden grow faster, healthier and produce larger crops than you ever thought possible. </bio>

The cornhole game is one that not everyone knows about. There are some parts of the country where it is much more popular than others. In these areas, individuals play it at parties and other events. It is played outdoors, and consists of a board with a hole in it and soft bags which are thrown into that hole to score points. The board can either be made of wood or plastic, but they are generally wooden. One of the best things about the cornhole set is that a person who likes working with his or her hands can actually build a cornhole board. He or she does not have to have a lot of fancy tools, and directions can be found on the Internet for free in many places. As long as good-quality wood is used and the instructions are followed, there is no reason why a quality cornhole set cannot be constructed. Even someone who does not have a lot of experience working with wood or tools can build his or her own cornhole set.

Some people will make their own cornhole board and then buy the bags. However, the bags can also be made quite easily. When the cornhole game was first invented, the bags were made of burlap, denim, or other strong cloth. They were stuffed with corn (hence the name cornhole) and they lasted a long time. Good quality bags that can be purchased today also last a long time. However, some bags are not good quality, and they wear out quickly. If a person wants to make his or her own cornhole set, he or she should make sure that the cloth that is used is strong enough to withstand a lot of use. In addition, though, it is very important to make sure that the cloth is also soft and flexible enough that the bags move and are easily tossed. Bags with no `give' to them will be much more difficult to deal with. Strong but soft cloth is the key to making cornhole bags.

In addition to what cloth to use, a person must decide what to fill the bags with. Even though corn was used in the past, it is not always a good alternative today. Corn can eventually mold if it gets wet, and can cause other problems. After enough use, it will deteriorate. The same is true with small beans, which are another common filler for bags that are used for this kind of game. Many commercial sets today use plastic pellets to fill their bags. This avoids deterioration and break down, while still providing game players with basically the same kind of experience that they would get with a traditional, corn-filled bag. The size and weight of the bag, as well as its flexibility, are the most important issues which must be addressed when building one's one cornhole set. If a person takes the time to build his or her cornhole set correctly, it will be much more enjoyable and last much longer. <bio>Dave Roth runs a site at http://www.cornhole-game.org that sells discount cornhole bags and boards.
Hybrid cars are starting to gain a modicum of popularity in the world market and this popularity seems to be growing. Current fears regarding climate change combined with rising costs of gasoline have led to great public interest in hybrid cars although this interest has not entirely yielded huge sales at present. This has led to many people wonder about the future of hybrid cars and this future is based on a variety of factors.

The future of hybrid cars will always center on the state of ethanol as ethanol remains the active component within the internal combustion engine process that makes hybrid cars possible. Since ethanol derives from corn, the status of corn farming will always have an impact of the future of hybrid cars. This can be a somewhat curious status to predict because corn is also an important food source for many people and if corn supplies are directed towards fuel production there is a possibility that an unexpected negative impact can result from reduced food supplies. For example, in Latin America civil unrest almost developed when the production in ethanol threatened to cause food shortages. Because of this, ethanol production was slowed down. This is not to say increased production of ethanol will always cause food shortages because a process can always be set in motion to correct any potential hazards.

Ultimately, the future of hybrid cars will be based on marketplace demand. In other words, if there is adequate demand in the market place for increased production of hybrid cars and these cars sell and continue to sell strong, then the future of hybrid cars will be strong. Of course, there will always be a number of factors that will contribute to the success or failure of hybrid cars in the marketplace. One of the factors will be cost. This includes the cost of the car itself and the fuel costs associated with the car. At present, a hybrid car would save people a great deal of money in both those areas so this is a huge positive for the potential of the cars. The other area that will contribute to the success or failure of hybrid cars is sales and promotions. In other words, a solid advertising campaign would need to be set in place in order to stimulate public interest in the cars. Considering the skill of many ad companies, this should not be a problem and the future of these cars will look bright.

For information on buying and selling new and second hand cars and bikes visit http://www.bharathautomobiles.com/index.php <bio>James Gunaseelan writes for India's leading automobile portal http://www.bharathautomobiles.com/index.php </bio>

Even at its all time high of $7.60 a bushel at the end of June, it was still less expensive than all other fuel types.

Since then the price has retreated to $5.42/bushel or $12.10 to produce 1 MM (million) Btu of heat. (The cost to produce 1 MM Btu of heat from any given fuel is useful as an "apples to apples" method of comparing fuel prices).

Based on today's prices, $1 of fuel corn provides the same amount of heat as $2.25 of heating oil.

The price for a ton of wood pellets has risen 10% since the Summer '08 Update and now averages $299/ton, or $18.69 per 1MM Btu. The reason behind the increase is a shrinking supply of sawdust (the raw material for wood pellets) due to the slowdown in new home construction. Also, some manufacturers of wood pellets report having to send their trucks as far as 400 miles to retrieve raw material contributing further to rising costs.

Despite the recent increase, wood pellets are still 30% less expensive to heat with than oil.

A cord of seasoned hardwood for the '08 - '09 heating season now costs around $295, or $17.90 per 1 Mil Btu. This is a third less than the cost of fuel oil for an equal amount of heat. If you want to save even more by seasoning your own hardwood, green wood usually sells for $50 less per cord than seasoned.

Bear in mind, the 1 MM Btu "apples to apples" cost comparison does not take into account the fuel efficiency of your heating appliance. The efficiency of your furnace or stove has a huge impact on what you actually end up paying to heat your home. For example; an 80% efficient heater will consume 23% less fuel than one rated at 65%.

Unlike the struggling auto industry, heating appliance manufacturers have always understood the value of fuel efficiency. Many newer model pellet stoves, outdoor furnaces and fireplace inserts offer efficiency ratings well above 80%.

The two pillars of cost effective heating, alternative or otherwise, will always be burning the least expensive fuel in the most efficient heater.

You can control fuel costs to some degree by waiting, if possible, for prices to moderate as is the case with corn. If you heat with wood pellets the best deals usually occur right after the end of the heating season. And anyone who heats with wood already knows the cheapest wood is the wood you cut yourself.

You do, however, have much more control over the efficiency of your heating appliance by adhering to a regular maintenance schedule. If you haven't already tuned up your furnace or pellet stove this year for maximum efficiency, time is running out.

Please note: The prices quoted for corn, wood pellets and seasoned hardwood in this article were accurate on the day it was written but will continue to change as market forces dictate.<bio>Improve your home with timely energy saving information from Alternative-Heating-Info.com</bio>

Ethanol fuel is changing our lives and changing the economy in ways no one anticipated before, with energy costs rising every day, there has been an increased interest in ethanol fuel. Ethanol is a variety of alcohol that can be produced in a natural fashion, similar to the way in which alcoholic beverages are produced. Ethanol can be used by itself in some specially designed vehicles, but it can also be used as a fuel additive, stretching traditional fuels in times of economic or environmental hardship. Ethanol is used today by more people ever before, simply because of the cheap alternative to the soaring gas prices.

Using ethanol fuel as an alternative to gas does require motorists to get a special ethanol kit and install it in their cars, but since gas prices have been unstable in the last years many people feel that making that kind of investment will prove financially profitable in the future.

Ethanol fuel that is derived from crops has advantages over traditional fossil fuels. The ethanol fuel is obtained from the sugars and starches in crops like corn and grains. It also burns cleaner than petroleum based fuels due to its chemical composition, alleviating some of the strain placed on the environment by exhaust emissions. The increased consumption of corn for ethanol use has already started to affect the corn farms projections of yearly crops.

Blended ethanol fuel has proven to be an effective source of energy for several parts of the country, as well as other parts of the globe. E10 is a typical mixture. It is common in the Midwestern United States. Many other countries around the world start to consider using ethanol instead of regular fuel, Denmark for example, has also begun using this type of ethanol fuel. It appears to be doing well, though its use is not as extensive as many of its proponents had hoped it would be. There is still a long way for ethanol to become a natural option for fuel, the United States had used ethanol fuel for less than one percent of its gasoline needs in the year 2002.

The other big issue surrounding ethanol is the environmental issue, it is still not absolutely clear that ethanol is in fact environment friendly, and whether the environmental aspects of ethanol fuel are as good as they have been previously described by the supporters of ethanol fuel use. The growing concern is that while the use of ethanol by itself may be good for the environment, the resources and work done to provide the production of the ethanol could be potentially dangerous for the forests, rainforests and areas where the corn and other ethanol producing resources are being grown. While it is true that the fuel can be made from renewable resources there is evidence that some rainforests are actually being cleared to make space for crops that are used in the production of ethanol. As the controversy regarding the production of ethanol and its dangers, it is very clear that this alternative source of energy is becoming more and more popular. <bio>Simon Oldmann is an avid writer and a green activist, he has been writing about Ethanol use since the growing popularity of Ethanol these last years, Simon writes for http://ethanol.zupatips.com </bio>

Are you forever avoiding foods that you used to love because you have dentures and are afraid of losing them in an ear of corn or a hard fruit? Relax - dental implants can give you back your own teeth as if they were natural. And best of all, you can treat dental implants the same way as you would your regular teeth. No longer are you confined to caring for dentures on a daily basis. Dental implants takes away the fuss of cleaning dentures and the fear and discomfort that they may fall out.

Some people are prone to losing their teeth due to heredity. No matter what they do, they still end up with gum disease or some problem that causes them to lose their teeth. In some cases, tooth loss can be attributed to medications that someone takes. There are many reasons why people lose their teeth, but they do not have to be permanent. Thanks to dental implants, you can skip the dentures and get implants that look and act like your own natural set of teeth!

Imagine being able to bite into a fruit that you used to enjoy or eat an ear of corn without worrying if you are going to embarrass yourself by leaving your dentures behind on the corn! Now you can with dental implants. This new technology actually replaces the teeth with implants that are covered by a dental crown. They look just like real teeth and behave just like real teeth, too.

It takes about four months before he dental implants are truly permanent. The way that it works is that they are affixed to a temporary device, such as a bridge, so that they can take root in your mouth. Your bones will eventually grow around the implants and affix them permanently in your mouth. This is not a painful procedure. As a matter of fact, most people who undergo dental transplants say that they are much more comfortable than dentures.

Dentures do not last forever. Every few years they require an adjustment. This is because your mouth is always changing. Unlike dentures, dental implants are forever and do not need to be changed ever few years. They are jut like regular teeth only better because they are protected by crowns. They look more natural than dentures and behave more naturally as well. No one will know that you have implants unless you tell them, whereas dentures are usually easy to spot.

The confidence that the dental implants will give you is immeasurable. So many people lose confidence in themselves when they get dentures. They do not want to talk to other people too much and fear eating any sort of meal because they may lose their teeth. They may feel uncomfortable with others seeing them without their teeth as they soak overnight in cleansing solution. This can be particularly uncomfortable if it is a younger person who may be re-entering the dating world.

Dental implants can give you a new lease on confidence. If you have been advised to get dentures or already have dentures and are looking for a fresh alternate, take a look at dental implants.<bio>Ray Subs is a consultant and author.
Some people put a lot of stock in names. Others do not. When it comes to the Cornhole game there are a lot of die-hard fans who will not have it called anything else. The same is true with the bean bag game. However, there are a lot of people who insist that the Cornhole game and the bean bag game are actually the same thing -- or at least so closely related that there is no point in arguing about it. The main difference for people who admit that there is one seems to be based on the fact that the standard Cornhole board is two feet by four feet and the standard bean bag board is two feet by three feet. They argue that this makes them different games. Some people point out, though, that a lot of Cornhole players actually use the smaller board because it is much more portable. By using the two foot by three foot board a Cornhole player can take the game on the road to a party or get-together. It will easily fit in the back of a pickup truck and it will also fit in the trunk of a larger car, or a car in which the back seats fold down. Since this is the case it is becoming much more popular with players of the Cornhole game.

Those who play the bean bag game still use the smaller boards as well, because they are considered to be the right size for that particular game. The bags for both of the games appear to be the same with the possible exception of the stuffing. The Cornhole bags were originally stuffed with dried corn and the bean bag toss bags were originally stuffed with dried beans. This is where the two games got their names. Now with advances in technology most of the bags are stuffed with plastic pellets, and this holds true for both games. This is done mostly because there are a lot of opportunities for dried corn and dried beans to biodegrade, but this does not happen to plastic pellets. Beans and corn can break down if they get wet and this is not good for the game or good for the players. These kinds of problems are why the players of these games try to use the plastic filler material now.

Another difference between the two games comes from the argument about where they were started. Some say that the game was started in Cleveland, Ohio, regardless of its name. Others say that it was started in Chicago, Illinois. There is also another school of thought that states that the Cornhole game began in Ohio and the bean bag game began in Illinois. Of course, some people do not agree. There have even been people who have said that the origin of the game comes from as far away as Germany. While this seems unlikely there appears to be no end to the arguments -- both friendly and not so friendly -- about the perceived differences between the bean bag toss and the Cornhole game.<bio>Dave Roth owns a site that sells cornhole products.
Exotic pets are vastly misunderstood in the press, and are often portrayed as unruly, difficult to keep and very much a specialist pet. In actual fact exotic pets make exciting and unusual pets and shouldn't be dismissed as quickly as they often are. They come in all shapes and sizes, from the humble corn snake to the highly aggressive desert hairy scorpion to the stunning dendrobates.

They also can be surprisingly affectionate, as is the case with the bearded dragon, which is well known for the bond it forms with its owner. They can be very intelligent like the monitors and tegu's, who are renowned in the trade for their intelligence. Some unfortunately do deserve the press such as the green iguana and the Burmese python, both of which are often bought as cute hatchlings where they then develop into monsters and end up in rescue centers.

Ideal exotic pets for the beginner include the leopard gecko, this is a brilliant lizard which is very easy to keep, full of character and still one of my firm favorites. They are commonly kept in vivariums where their needs can be met surprisingly easily. The set up costs associated with all of the equipment you'll need (the vivarium itself, a heat mat, thermostat, decor, etc) are quite high but once purchased leopard geckos make inexpensive pets, they can be kept for approx 2-3 ($4-6) a week.

Another ideal beginner exotic pet is the African praying mantis, these make impressive pets due to their aggression towards pray, but they are also very handleable and get to a reasonable size. As youngsters they can be kept in plastic cups with mesh on the top, as adults they still only require a small home, something one foot cube is ideal.

If snakes are your interest then a corn snake is an ideal first step into the world of exotic pets. You've probably seen them in the pet shops sold as hatchlings, those small bright orange snakes with saddles on the back. These are ideal first time exotics (and what got me into them in the first place) due to their size (adults usually reach 4-5ft, some individuals may get bigger but they rarely go over 6ft), handle-ability and good appetite.

They are also generally quite forgiving of the mistakes that people new to the hobby make. Part of the popularity of corn snakes probably stems from the fact that although the wild types are orange, in captivity they come in a vast array of colors and patterns. Welcome to the world of color morphs. Nowadays if you have the cash you can almost hand pick the color of your snake, from perfect white to a deep rusty brown to purple.

Due to their rarity (and most corn snake color morphs having to be homozygous before they are visible) they fetch a high price, you could end up spending a few thousand dollars on a price specimen. Most of the snakes value however would be in the offspring it can produce so expensive color morphs are generally sold between fellow breeders.

Hopefully this might make you take another look at exotic pets, there's a little more to them than meets the eye.<bio>Find more information on Exotic Pets such as Leopard Gecko and how to handle them.</bio>

So you are wondering if the dog food you are feeding is really good for your canine.

Maybe you heard that your particular brand of dog food is bad for your dog.

Here I will try to explain what to look for as well as the ingredients and how they measure up to what you are currently feeding. Please keep in mind dog food is essential to their health as for most it is their main source of nutrition.

Some easy tips are:

Do not buy dog food that contains BHT or BHA, they are chemical preservatives and could be harmful. Do not buy food that has by-products in it; these are often left over from is given to the human market. That means by-products could be feet, intestines, necks etc.

Grains that are often difficult to digest like corn, wheat, gluten and soy, are often used as a protein source instead of meat. -- This is not healthy and in addition can cause allergies.

Now we get into the fun part!

The first 5 ingredients play a significant role in the overall nutritional make up of a dog food

What are the protein sources? I believe the primary source should come from quality animal protein, not vegetable protein or grain. Foods that list 2 or more grains in the first 5 ingredients may have more vegetable protein than animal protein.

What about grains? Two or more grains listed in the first 5 ingredients means your food may have more vegetable protein than animal protein. Grains such as soy, corn, corn gluten and wheat gluten can be difficult to digest, which means less nutrition and more clean up.

Are there by-products? Some manufacturers consider by-products inferior sources of protein and, depending on the source, they can be difficult to digest.

What are the fat sources? Some fats are better than others. We believe the primary fat source in dog food should be animal based because animal fats contain a profile of fatty acids that are easily metabolized and thus are generally more available to the body.

Look for an identifiable animal protein such as "chicken meal" rather a generic term; such as, "poultry meal," which can contain any fowl (turkey, chicken, geese, etc.).

Some manufacturers use chicken in their pet foods; however, look for Chicken "Meal" Why? Because chicken meat contains a certain amount of moisture in the flesh; however, chicken "meal" is a concentrated source of chicken protein because most of the water has been removed. Therefore, it only stands to reason that you get a greater "protein content" in 1 pound of chicken meal versus 1 pound of chicken.

Make sure your dog food has bacteria cultures (acidophilus) for easy digestion. Look for vegetables and fiber for anti-oxidants protection, vitamins and minerals. <bio>Lori Matthews studies health, nutrition and wellness.
So, the question is, have you ever tired to make your own chocolate pecan pie, from scratch? The task is a little more challenging than it may seem, but I'm sure you're up for it. First, I'm going to walk you through a freebie recipe for Chocolate Pecan Marshmallow Cake.

Can you say "Out of this world!"? Because this is one of my favorite desserts. This baked treat is sure to leave folks wishing for more, and definitely begging you for the recipe.

Are you ready? I'll go over the recipe in the following steps:

Chocolate Pecan Marshmallow Cake:

* 6 ounces butter (3/4 cup, 1 1/2 sticks)
* 1 1/2 cups sugar, 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
* 3 eggs, 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
* 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 6 ounces miniature marshmallows, about 3 cups.

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy; beat in cocoa. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour, nuts and vanilla; mix well. Pour batter into greased and floured 9x13x2-inch baking pan. Bake chocolate marshmallow cake at 325 for 40 minutes. Remove from oven and place miniature marshmallows on top of hot cake. Let marshmallows melt then frost with icing (below) while still warm.

ICING:

* 1/4 cup butter
* 1 lb confectioners sugar (about 3 1/2 cups un-sifted)
* 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
* 1 teaspoon vanilla
* milk for consistency.

Mix all ingredients together, adding milk until desired spreading consistency is reached; spread on warm chocolate marshmallow cake. Cool chocolate marshmallow cake thoroughly before serving.

This cake has become a family favorite also and like the chocolate pecan pie, it can be served for any occasion and not just for holidays. And the older I got, the more I began experimenting and finding my own recipes. If you don't already do this, I'd like to suggest that you start. You'll be amazed the great ideas you can come up with from all your previous baking experience.

I came across this chocolate pecan pie recipe that uses corn syrup like in a traditional pecan pie. It is already cut down to make just one pie and it is no less delicious.

Chocolate Pecan Pie with Corn Syrup:

* 4 ounces semisweet chocolate
* 2 tablespoons margarine, melted
* 3 eggs 1/3 cup sugar , 1 cup corn syrup (light or dark)
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 1/4 cups pecan halves
* 1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell- homemade or frozen.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a double boiler melt chocolate and margarine. Let cool slightly. Beat eggs lightly in medium bowl. Add sugar, corn syrup, chocolate mixture, and vanilla; stir until well blended. Mix in pecans. Set pie shell on heavy-duty baking sheet and pour in filling. Bake 50 to 55 minutes, until knife inserted midway between center and rim comes out clean. Cool pie on wire rack to room temperature before cutting.

I prefer to use light corn syrup, it seems to give the chocolate pecan pie a lighter taste or in any pecan pie. But the pie is delicious either way, a sweet rich southern dessert. So, go ahead and start your own Sunday dinner tradition... or just any day really. It doesn't have to be Sunday or even dinner time to enjoy good old southern chocolate pecan pie.<bio>Tanner's Pecan is owned and operated by Danny Fox and Michelle Parks and offers great chocolate pecan pies.
