Everyone has probably observed others who seem to skim over a page quickly as they read. People naturally read at different rates, but there are some people who have learned to speed reading. These people also read at different rates but those people with speed reading skills all read faster than most people. Speed reading can be done by learning specific strategies for reading through material quickly and comprehending the material. Turning and skimming pages quickly is not much use if the reader does not remember or comprehend what they have read.

People who would like to read and comprehend more quickly should enroll in a speed reading class in order to acquire skills that will help them read faster and better. Speed reading courses usually provide the students with several strategies and techniques to read and comprehend more quickly. Students who enroll in a speed reading course should learn these strategies to improve their reading rate. Once students learn these strategies in a course, they will find many benefits. All of their reading assignments or duties will take far less time.

Students will be able to finish all of their reading requirements and have lots of extra time for the fun activities of college life. Business people will be able to study reports and other papers and have more time for family and fun. Students, business people and others who use speed reading strategies save time but they also comprehend the material that they cover. Courses often teach people to use techniques that are different from the techniques that they used to learn to read in elementary school. Most people initially learn to read in a linear fashion.

Speed reading courses often teach people to read the words in other patterns than the ones first learned in school. The courses usually train students to avoid reading each individual word. A good course in speed reading will change some of the habits that people have acquired in their traditional education. The course will also provide students with advice that will help them become better readers.

Distractions can interfere with reading comprehension and many instructors in a course will advise students to eliminate the distractions in order to achieve better reading comprehension. The speed reading instructors often suggest ways that students should prepare for reading tasks before they read the first word. There are many strategies that people can use to become better readers and many are most pleased when they learn the strategies that help them. <bio>Steven Quinn Hosts other website's like: htpp://www.arthritis-webinfo.com </bio>

I mean that altogether sorts of systems of ethics, religions, and anti-religions found openly in the world, anything goes and no one and only is hiding it! Due to this fact, there are heavy amounts of families that detect themselves with spouses of a distinctive good faith.

This doesn't exclude families who like better to homeschool their children. Most of society thinks that homeschooling families like better homeschool because of their long-standing code of conduct in a particular system of belief be it Catholic or Christian like. This is true in some cases, irregardless some families prefer homeschool for accessory basis and find themselves with multi views on dogmas.

For example, a pagan other half and a Christianly wife? Where as in advance when the youth attended junior high school, it wasn't much of a skepticism, nonetheless now that the kids are being homeschooled you grasp deeper of an advancement to consider and coach conviction. So what do you do? How do you homeschool if you are a Pagan and your wife is a Christly or even Jewish?

It's effortless. Artistically, model, perhaps its not so smooth, yet it can be done with a little inquiry and pre-planning. Call for the model program and give instruction your children two different faiths which encourages them comprehend that everyone doesn't think the same and how to know tolerance for others even when they are distinctive or think differently.

Scads of the holidays are acquainted with Pagan and Christian like connections. Make obligatory some time to dig to the chief of each religions holidays and obtain it as an educational go through. Tent some of these "restless holidays" where the kid doesn't comprehend which way to party, Pagan or Christian like, to broaden the mind and instruct.
When I first started studying the history of music, I did not know what I was getting into. I had a notion that music history was somewhat of a trivial pursuit...

Honestly, I only followed my history of classical music course because I needed the credits. I am sure some of you out there can relate to that. I did not know how fully interesting music history could be. You see, in our culture many of us do not really study to comprehend music. For much of the world, music is a language, but for us it is a thing that we consumed passively.

When I started to study about the history of Western music, however, it changed all that for me. I have had some experience using musical instruments, but I have never mastered one enough to really comprehend what music is all about. This class showed me.

When a lot of us think about the history of music, it means the history of rock music. We presume that the history is plain because the music is plain. In fact, neither is the case. The history of music, whether you're talking about classical music, rock music, jazz music, or any other kind, is always complex. New chord structures are set up carrying with them new forms of understanding humanity. New rhythmic patterns are established, carrying with them new methods of understanding history. And music shows all of it.

History of music nowadays is even more interesting. Even when the class was ended, I could not stop learning about the history of music. It had stimulated my appetite, and I wanted more. I acquired all the music history volumes that I could discover. I even started to examine forms of music that had not interested me before in the hopes of improving my musical knowledge further. When I was in school studying toward a very different subject - a degree in engineering - I had thought about giving it up and going back to obtain a degree in musicology. That is how much I am fascinated by the subject.

If you have never taken a course in the history of music, you don't know what you are missing out on. You do not miss what you don't know about in a way but then again... Believe me the CDs will never sound the same to you again. Actually not only the Cds but any type of media you are or will be using to play your favorite music. The whole thing will seem much more rich, much more luminous, and much more important. A new song can reflect a new way of being, and a new way of imagining existence in the world. This is what learning about the history of music means to many of us. Just try it and you will see.

Listening to music now has a whole new meaning. You can imagine all the different types of musical patterns there are in the world. It make your musical mind really expand. <bio>Paul Zirka Is A Well Known Internet Author And Enjoy Sharing His Knowledge With You The Reader. Well, to start off, you don't comprehend to get everyone awake at 7 every morning and put them on the bus with lists of directions, and wait until schools out and the kids are home. Homeschooling gives you larger upper hand over the influences that affect your child. The improvement and progression of Tim and Lisa is removed from the realm of the unknown. You, and you alone can wish what your kids need to do or gain knowledge. Tailoring the core curriculum to suit the needs and worries of the girl is one of the most obvious perks of homeschooling.

Individual intentness is another salient advantage of homeschooling. For instance, if your child needs greater time to understand Math, then she can diminish the time for her English lessons. There are no focused hours of come to knowing per apt to. This means that a child has the advantage of assigning more amount of time crucial to comprehend each exposed subject or concept will depend on the abilities and distresses of the adolescent.

The whole family gets involved in education when you homeschool. Moms get encompassed in every step of the comprehending procedure. Field trips and experiments evolve into family activities. Thus, the child receives more quality time with his parents.
>From the time I was a little child, I had what you would call a religious up bringing. At a very early age we were taught the 10 commandments. Actually the 10 commandments have played such a great part in my life I cannot remember when I learned them. Though I do remember having to learn them by heart for Sunday school, however that was more about trying to memorize what order the 10 commandments came in rather than learning what they were all about.

Since the 10 commandments have been a part of my life as a young child, I have not spent much time reflecting on them. Just like the other aspects of my life, I have accepted the 10 commandments as a fact of life. I have spent more time thinking about them in recent times due to the media attention of having the 10 commandments displayed in public buildings. This made me stop and review closely what the 10 commandments are and as to why someone may be offended seeing them in print. I had to stop and reflect if I had just acknowledged something that may be offensive just because it has always been part of my life.

I have to confess that trying to remember the 10 commandments in sequence was a true memory exercise. Though I could remember all of them, trying to get the middle ones in the right order was a challenge. One day I had mentioned this to my husband and he couldn't comprehend why being in a particular order would make any difference. He had a good point there, that it didn't matter what order I placed them in or what precise wording I used to remember them, but the idea behind each of the 10 commandments that was the message we have to take to heart.

After pondering over each of the 10 commandments I m certain that for me they are not offensive. By displaying or seeing them in print, I would not feel discriminated against or violated in any way. The message behind each one of the 10 commandments is clear and on the whole I feel they out line an honest and courteous way to conduct my life. At the same time I do respect others beliefs and accept that not everyone has the same set of beliefs that I have. I think life would be boring if we did all think the same and had the same beliefs. I realize that we are not all from the same belief system, but I still cannot comprehend why someone would be hurt by seeing the 10 commandments in print. On the other hand there are several billboards and bus advertisements that I find offensive, but for sure I know there are others that disagree with me. At times if I find something offensive I try to look at something that is more appealing to me.

Surely we do not all need to believe the same things in order to exist together, we do not even need to understand each others beliefs, we just need to learn tolerance. Hey, guess what... maybe I just came up with the 11th commandment! <bio>Linda E. The HEPA vacuum cleaner has several advantages but you must first know about HEPA before you totally comprehend what it represents. The HEPA vacuum cleaner offers many benefits for your home or business.

HEPA Vacuum Cleaner

The HEPA filter is actually what makes the vacuum cleaner really work effectively. The HEPA filter is guaranteed to eliminate 99.97% of small particles from a particular area. The HEPA filter contains a mat that makes this possible. The mat contains randomly arrayed fibers that prevent the small and large particles from reentering the atmosphere. The HEPA vacuum cleaner would not work properly if it did not contain the HEPA filter. The larger granules are captured on the outside and never allowed to enter the filter at all. There are basically three different techniques that capture the smaller granules and these are described below.

Interception is the first technique that is used to capture the smaller granules. The small granules are rotating around the HEPA filter fibers and finally get stuck to the fibers and forever removed from the atmosphere. This is one way that the vacuum cleaner will work effectively.

Impaction is the second technique that is used to capture the larger granules that actually work their way around the upper layers of the HEPA filter. The larger particles cannot escape the fibers entirely and get imbedded in the fibers of the HEPA filter. With a tight HEPA filter that offers a stronger airflow this technique is more effective and allows the HEPA vacuum cleaner to perform as what is stated by the manufacturer.

Diffusion is the third technique that is used to capture small and large granules from reentering the atmosphere. Diffusion is a very complex technique that most individuals can not comprehend. Diffusion does not capture the particles and prevent them from reentering the atmosphere but increases the reliability of the interception and impaction techniques. This technique relies on the small and large granules colliding together along with the air molecules and altering the granules trajectory. This in turn allows the other two techniques to occur. This technique allows the HEPA vacuum cleaner to work effectively and efficiently.

Interception, impaction, and is how the HEPA filter is effective and allows you to use your HEPA vacuum cleaner and keep the atmosphere in your home or business cleaner than using a regular vacuum cleaner. The HEPA vacuum cleaner is available in your local department stores, specialty store, or on the World Wide Web for your convenience. It is better to budget a little extra money into cleaning your house with the very effective vacuum cleaner. If you decide to change out your old vacuum cleaner with a vacuum cleaner because it does not work properly it will not take you vey long before you see the comparisons of the two vacuum cleaners.<bio>If you need more tips and information about vacuum cleaners, you may want to have a look at my vacuum cleaner website.</bio>

In a way, success and a sharp memory go together like a horse and carriage or hamburger and fries.

Just imagine how inconvenient or embarrassing it would be to be absent-minded or just plainly, to have a dull memory. Think of the benefits a sharp memory will bring to you by considering the following:

• Visualize how impressed your associates, clients, co-workers, or your manager will be if you can commit to memory loads of names, figures, dates, and addresses (to mention a few), without the aid of paper or any devices that will make you recall such information. Not only will they be amazed, they will think that you are one step ahead of them when it comes to memory recall.

• In social gatherings, the sound of one's name is music to one's ears. And if you can accurately remember names of other people (even those you hardly know personally), you will attract interest and attention from them.

• Being alert as a result of having a sharp memory earns respect from others. It is infectious in a way, because being alert makes other people alert too.

• When you have a good memory, people will look at you as somebody whom they can rely on. If you're branded as somebody who is forgetful, they will treat you as if you didn't exist.

• When you have a sharp memory, you are a time saver. If you spend most of your time cramming on things you can't find because you forget where you put them, the day would just end without actually getting anything done.

• With a sharp memory, you can comprehend things more easily and quickly. You don't need to spend more time consuming repetition of instructions or what has just been said.

You may ask, "Just how is it possible to have a sharp memory?" Although the subject of our discussion is mainly on the benefits that can be obtained as a result of having a sharp memory, a brief discussion on how to attain this follows.

Just like the physical body, the brain's memory cells also require periodic exercises. You need to think positive, be creative, imaginative, and active at all times. Even not so important things can help to keep your memory in prime condition, just like physical exercise. Processing information in the brain keeps the memory sharp.

A proper diet is another important factor. What is food for the body is also food for the brain, in turn enhancing or sharpening the memory. It means intake of nutritious foods and avoiding junk foods. The Food Pyramid Guide for proper selection of food groups is a good source of information.

Read books, lots of them. Read to comprehend and discover new vocabularies. This stimulates the mind to store new information. Keep your interest to learn in a high level. This is possible if your mind is preoccupied with working and thinking about something you like to do. Not only do you get to have an improved memory, you also get to be a wiser individual. <bio>Memory is like a muscle -- the more it is used, the better it gets; and the more it is neglected, the worse it gets.
Network marketing is like anything else in life that requires direction. If there is no direction, the destination is nowhere. For example if a ship has no direction it goes nowhere.

Those who have achieved great success in network marketing differ from those who have not by mastering three major success steps. If you want network marketing success, take action today and master these steps practiced by successful network marketers.

Network marketing is one of the top business adventures to become involved with. When you become a part of a network marketing business, you are exposed to a proven product, service and opportunity. You also have at your disposal a roadmap offering you the "know how" on how to achieve success with MLM.

Even though network marketing is a fantastic business model and it's made many millionaires in the past, you must not be naive in thinking that network marketing is a "get rich quick" program. You can't achieve success just by joining and thinking the profits will start accumulating in your bank account. You have to take action in the business because it can't work itself, you must work your MLM business to be successful.

Here are the top 3 success steps required for success in network marketing:

1. Knowledge of your product, service and opportunity 2. Comprehend what works 3. Take continued action

Now let's take a closer look at each step:

- Knowledge Of Your Product, Service and Opportunity-

In order for you to truly be successful in network marketing, you must know what the company is about, inside and out. Knowledge of the product or service is advantageous to you when speaking to someone about the opportunity that awaits. You want to represent the network marketing company as an authority. This will give you complete confidence as you speak with a potential recruit.

-Comprehend What Works-

It is important for you to know what works in your company in regards to marketing your product. This information can be gleaned from your upline sponsor. This is a perfect reason to keep the lines of communication open with your upline. When operating a network marketing business, it is helpful to maximize your efforts and concentrate on something that has been proven to work for your particular MLM.

-Take Continued Action-

This is probably the most important step. So many people have joined a network marketing company, took action briefly only to quit after being involved for only a few weeks. They are under the impression that network marketing is a "get rich quick" opportunity in which it is not. Those that stay in the company for such a short time expect to do hardly anything but wait for the money to accumulate. The responsibility of the individual is to not only to take action but to take continued action in order to realize the monetary benefits down the road. The philosophy is to take action in your MLM business today, tomorrow, the next day and the next day and on and on. This continued action will pay big dividends in due time.

Taking the time to concentrate on these 3 steps will ensure financial security for those determined to be successful in network markekting. You must remember this is a business that must be treated as a business.

Treat your network marketing business as a hobby, you will get paid like a hobby. Treat your network marketing business like a business and your bank account will be rewarded accordingly. <bio>Forget everything you've ever been taught about building a solid income in Network Marketing from the "gurus".
Speed reading programs vary greatly in terms of what techniques they teach, what they promise, and the actual outcome. This can be confusing if you have decided to explore speed reading for the first time, and had always thought (like many of us) that speed reading is just one single concept or technique that can be learnt. Actually, there are at least two major approaches to speed reading that differ in fundamental ways. Most speed reading programs are based on one of these two major approaches to speed reading, though there are also a lot of individual variations between the many programs.

Traditional speed reading programs are based on something that we all do naturally - instead of reading a passage in detail, there are times when we just scan it, letting our eyes travel down the page quickly. With simple scanning, most people can read up to 600 or 700 wpm (words per minute), as opposed to 200 - 400 wpm when we are reading carefully, for comprehension and study. The first speed reading programs just improve on scanning speed.

Many studies corroborate the fact that there is no need to read every single word in a passage of text in order to gain comprehension or an understanding of it - the mind naturally fills in the gaps of what we don't actually read. And to put it simply, the more we 'skip' while reading, the faster we can read. Though this varies among individuals, it is generally true that a certain amount of material can be skipped without losing very much comprehension. Of course, some experts disagree, saying that speed readers typically comprehend only 50% of what they are reading, as opposed to as much as 75% for regular reading.

Some other speed reading programs teach you how to speed up the rate of your 'scanning' by leading your eyes across the page using the sweeping motion of a 'pacer' (which your eyes naturally follow) or by teaching you to use and increase your peripheral vision while reading. Despite what some experts say about the low comprehension, there is considerable documentation of the efficacy of these speed reading programs and some people have proven that they can comprehend just as much information as someone who read the exact same piece of text at normal reading speed.

Some of the newer speed reading programs work on a different principle. They argue that scanning the page in a linear manner, whether or not you read every word, is completely unnecessary; in fact, they claim that it even wastes time. Rather, they posit that the human mind is capable of mentally 'photographing' a complete page of words - taking in everything that is on it in its entirety, in a very short period of time. Some speed reading programs claim incredible success rates based on this principle, though it remains controversial. Mainstream scientists are skeptical about these claims, arguing that the programs just teach people to scan really quickly, and that the overall comprehension is poor.<bio>Need to lose weight fast? The immune system can break down and even mold has been known to be found in the blood stream. Black Mold is coming found in warm, wet, and dark areas. It is also found in homes, offices, walls, showers, and just about everywhere else. Living with mold can affect one's health and it is important to understand if your body is very allergenic to toxic mold and mildew. Toxic Mold or Black Mold or even mildew have all been associated to one thing, the black dirt that can appear on drywall, showers, tile, and carpeting. Mold needs a source to grow a little bit of moisture and one will begin seeing the spores amplify.

While being withindoors a space such as a room, the spores can be quite foul to the system. Many concerns arise regarding a toxic mold exposure cure. Being aware that you have a mold complication is the first step. One needs to comprehend what does mold look like and some mold symptoms are important. Some common symptoms of mold are coughing, headaches, scratchy throat, and blood in the lungs. Mold symptoms become common in individuals who have lower immunity such as the elderly and infants. We call this immuno comprimised. Having mold in your breathinh space may cause many Mold Symptoms. Scratchy throats are common. An individual may feel their throat to be scratchy almost as if they have to cough. A scratchy throat is a common black mold identifier. Once identifying and having an understanding if mold is mold or just some black dirt you then need to comprehend how to reduce the mold symptoms caused from mycotoxins and correlated fungus.

The most simple solution one can offer on Toxic Mold Exposure Cure isgetting free air. Your system can go into shock and breathing new oxygen into the lungs is in any case beneficial. Many headaches and other common symptoms of black mold decrease when receiving new air in the lungs. The largest problem is to live in a home that has a large amount of microbial growth. This type of home is also know as Sick Building Syndrome since people will most likely become affected when living in the environment. The spores will be liberated into the air and then run into your blood stream, also your lungs and sinuses. Therefor, many nasal issue and lung problems are cause by mold and mildew. So, for the easiest Toxic Mold Cure can find fresh air, and taking in new oxygen. The mixture of the fresh oxygen will depress the mold symptoms of the toxins.

On the other hand, if you have a toxic mold problem inside your office or home and may relate to black mold growing on a wall, then it is highly recommened to find a mold inspector that may assist you in finding the correct solution. Bleach will not remove mold, finding the source and solution is how a certified mold inspector will assist in cleaning mold. <bio>Find new Patented and alternative ways to organically prevent http://www.propertyperfections.net </bio>

Many law enforcement candidates react to reading comprehension questions by thinking, "This part of the test is going to really slow me down." And, to a degree this part of the test will slow you down. However, if you follow the strategies described in this article you will be able to complete your test at a steady pace and gain valuable points.

Most police entrance exams emphasize reading comprehension. Why? Because to properly perform their jobs, law enforcement officers are expected to understand and comprehend what they read.

Reading comprehension questions will typically be based on one or more situational paragraphs, or require a candidate to determine the proper course of action to take based on reading police rules and procedures.

Firstly, I would suggest you do a lot of reading before taking the test. Newspaper and magazine articles can improve your concentration and your ability to understand what you read. Read with purpose. Underscore details and ideas that appear crucial to the meaning of the articles. Identify the writer's point of view and their supporting information. When you finish with an article, summarize it. Ask yourself, what was the author's purpose in writing the article? What was the main idea. What was the article's focus, key information and words?

Another suggestion is to take practice law enforcement exams. The best practice exams will include reading comprehension sections taken directly from actual exams used by law enforcement agencies.

Here are seven proven strategies to help you pass the reading comprehension part of the law enforcement written exam:

1. Skim the answers before reading the passage. This will let you know what to look for while reading. As you read the passage, mark or circle anything that answers a question. Continue reading that passage until you're done. Don't answer the question until you've read the entire passage because you'll break your concentration.

2. Ask yourself after you read a paragraph, "What exactly did that paragraph say?" Spend a couple of seconds summarizing the contents of the paragraph. While doing this look at the paragraph to help you remember where important information is located.

3. Without fail there will be one or more questions asking you to identify the main idea. Usually a passage will have a few sentences stating the author's main idea. While reading, underline these sentences. This will save you valuable time.

4. Underline key words, phrases and facts, such as dates, names and events.

5. If you are totally confused by a sentence or phrase in the passage, read the sentence before and after the difficult sentence to clarify its meaning. If you're still confused, move on. Don't dwell too long or you'll lose valuable time.

6. Try to visualize by forming a mental picture of the events described in the passage as you read. When you are able to visualize something, it's easier to comprehend.

7. Answer the questions based on the information in the passage, not prior knowledge. If you don't agree with something stated in the passage this is not the time to argue your point. Remember your goal is to get the highest score. In this part of the test, you are being tested on your ability to read and comprehend, not your knowledge of the subject.

Do's and Don'ts

Do read actively, not passively. Pause briefly after each paragraph to think about the points made by the author. Jot down a brief outline as you go.

Don't get too concerned with details as you read a passage, especially long passages. Just take notes of where the details were in the passage. You can quickly list statistics, numbers, dates, names titles, etc.

Do pay attention to the passage structure. Is it organized chronologically, by comparison of two or more arguments, or was there some other classification system? This will help you locate details later.

Do summarize the passage. Take a few seconds to recap the main idea of the passage. This may help you answer several questions quickly.

In summary, if you follow these simple tips and strategies you will find reading comprehension test questions far easier to answer correctly. Remember read with purpose. By far the most effective method to help you hone your skills and build your confidence, besides reading newspaper and magazine articles, is to take actual practice exams used by law enforcement agencies. <bio>For more than 290 practice exam questions based on real exams used by police agencies throughout the country with instruction and detailed answer explanations for fast, focused learning, and to discover the three reasons why 70% of all police applicants fail the written exam visit: ... http://www.policeexam911.com </bio>

Networking for your job advancement in your career development path offers big benefits and outstanding career employment advancement opportunities that in most cases would never come your way otherwise.

Why network? Networking in the employment and career field offers the number one source of finding employment and job advancement. It is often stated that the vast majority -- estimated as high as 80 -- 90 % of jobs are filled inside organizations rather than outside. Generally in life people do not like risk and change. Better to deal with someone you know, can judge and trust. As well someone who recommends a future employee to an organization should have a vested interest in recommending a person who will be of good benefit to that organization. As well it should be noted that the person who does the recommendation has their own self interest to consider in case things do not work out well with the prospective hire.

In fact many employers will pay an employee who recommends a future hire a "finder's fee" or other reward. Better to reward someone in your organization for growth than to reward an outsider such as a commercial "head hunter".

It may be said that sometimes a firm will look outside of the norm to hire someone -- especially management to shake the organization to be a "whipping boy". This does occur. However these are not situations where you would place yourself for serious career advancement.

Networking is in actuality the process of developing relationships with people who can assist you with job search strategies and in finding strong job leads. Often people you seriously network with (including those you ask as valued references on your job resumes or applications) will become your best proponents. It should be noted that networking should be distinguished from simple hobnobbing and name dropping.

Networking in its true sense is a sincere, two ways relationship not a shallow one way activity. The distinction can not be stressed enough. If you are unable to comprehend the difference between the two - then this activity of career networking is not currently the right path for you.

The benefits of networking are great. Networking will focus your job choice and career direction. You will be tapping into jobs that you would most likely not have access to otherwise. You should be in a position to gain information and perspective about your chosen industry and firms or organizations that you would not be privy to or be able to comprehend or appreciate the significance otherwise. Specialized information such as industry and geographical trends, job search structure and protocols and hiring processes in your chosen fields will avail itself to you in your employment search.

It is a wonderful trait in interviews to be confident with industry perspectives as well as privileged information about the going ons of firms that you are making job applications for. The biggest percentage of most job interviews is based on preparation before the interview, not during it. Networking will be your best tool for successful pre interview preparation and planning.

As well networking affords self promotion in a socially acceptable manner without bragging rights to those people in the hiring stream who ultimately matter the most to you in your employment search. In effect you are practicing your communication and interviewing skills as you successfully navigate the network streams.

Remember that for all the serious work you do in your job search in the end you never know who can be of the most help to you. Be sincere and appreciative in all that you do. <bio>Shaun Z.
The best way to help an autistic child cope with change is to understand the way they think, so you can present ideas and situations to them in a way they will effectively comprehend. While the average person thinks in language, the average person with autism thinks in pictures. This thinking process is known as visual thought. Visual thought is when a person thinks in pictures, images or even movies, instead of actual words and concepts. Therefore, for most autistics, words are like a second language. Written and spoken words are transformed into moving pictures with sounds in their mind. It is through the comprehension of their visual thoughts that they can either identify with a situation and words, or not understand.

Recent research on autistic thinking has found that people with autism are inclined to focus on specific details instead of the bigger picture. Unlike a normal brain that connects all of its different processing parts together, the brain of someone with autism is not entirely connected to each of its systems. This is what sometimes makes autistics excellent at one thing and unskilled at something else.

Visual thinkers have difficultly forming concepts. This is because conceptual thinking usually occurs in the frontal cortex of the brain; the part of the brain that has unusual makeup in autistics. The frontal cortex incorporates information from the thinking, sensory and emotional areas of the brain. Due to the fact that the frontal cortex of autistics is not properly connected to the other parts of the brain, they encounter problems when it comes to carrying out normal functions.

Most autistics excel at visual spatial skills, but have difficulty with verbal skills. Instead of developing new conceptual ways of thinking through emotions and words, they can create new visualizations by taking small pieces of other images they have stored in their memory banks to create new visual concepts of understanding. They translate words into pictures, and piece pictures together with actual experiences to create video-like images that make up their thought process. Autistic individuals have difficulty learning things that cannot be visualized as a picture. For this reason, nouns become the easiest words for children to understand and learn because they can be directly related to images. However, prepositions, verbs, etc. are more difficult for autistics to process because the usually do not understand these words until they are associated with an actual event they remember doing. For instance, the word andamp;#8220;underandamp;#8221; may be understood through a memory of going under a table. Usually, an autistic has difficulty with words that cannot be converted to pictures and have no definite meaning on their own such as the word andamp;#8220;andandamp;#8221;.

One of the best ways to help the average person understand the autistic brain is to visit an online image based search engine (IE Google Images) and type in words. The images these words produce can give you an idea of how autistics think and use pictures to form concepts.

The best way to teach an autistic child is to build on their strengths, not just on that which they have difficulty. Thus, teaching and communicating with a visualization aid can be very effective and help them process their thoughts. In most cases, the more someone with autism learns, the more they will comprehend and understand that they think and feel in a different way than the average person.

Just remember, effectively communicating with a person with autism can take time. Therefore, you need to be patient, understanding, and engage your sense of humor. <bio>Rachel Evans has an interest in Autism.
Transcription developed gradually in the early sixties through different machines like manual and electric typewriters, computers, word processors, magnetic belts, cassettes, plastic disks and digital recordings. In the past, medical reports that were gathered for patients contain handwritten abbreviation notes that were very difficult for common people to understand. Nowadays, a lot of healthcare providers make use of voice streaming and dictation to make transcription more effective and efficient. However, since the medical spoken language is still too complex to understand, medical transcriptionists are required to convert the spoken medical records into typewritten form.

What is a Medical Transcriptionist?

A medical transcriptionist, also called an MT, is an individual who is in charge of converting or translating a patient's medical records to typewritten layout. Although transcriptions can also be done in handwritten form, a typewritten layout is often preferred because it is clearer and more comprehensible. These transcriptions are usually done for the purpose of charting reports and information. Much of the recordings that a medical transcriptionist works on come from either a Dictaphone machine or recorded tape.

A Medical Transcriptionist should be a practiced typist

Since the market for medical transcriptionists is growing, employers often look for a person who is a practiced typist with outstanding interpretation of what he hears through dictation. A fast typist will be able to lay out the medical records in typewritten form as the recording runs, without having to play back the Dictaphone machine or tape. This makes him more efficient in his job.

An MT should be knowledgeable with medical terms

A medical transcriptionist must have strong knowledge of medical language and terms. Since a medical transcriptionist has to record a lot of medical terms, it is essential that he knows the spelling and pronunciation of such terms. Without a good knowledge of medical terms, it is rather impossible for a person to work effectively as a medical transcriptionist.

Educational qualifications and skills required for an MT position

To be a medical transcriptionist, you must be at least a high school graduate with a diploma that is relevant to the field medical transcription. You will have an advantage if you have at least one to three years of working experience that is in line with the duties and responsibilities of a medical transcriptionist. As a medical transcriptionist, you must be able to comprehend dictation of medical terms and you need to possess short hand skills. You should also be good in verbal communication and spelling, and have excellent memory skills so that you can sort out, count, check and authenticate numbers with accuracy.

Other skills required of an MT

It is essential that you are able to use and operate some of the basic office machines, equipments and computers. A medical transcriptionist needs to possess excellent records maintenance ability and a profound knowledge of medical transcription practices and guidelines. You have to be resourceful enough to be able to use a wide selection of professional reference materials and work under pressure with limited time and minimal supervision. You must also have the skills to use proper grammar, capitalization rules, and correct punctuations. As you progress in your job as a medical transcriptionist, you will be required to perform quality assurance check to ascertain that the medical reports are correctly done. You will also have to understand and apply important legal concepts like confidentiality.

As a whole, an effective and successful medical transcriptionist has to be able to decide what is essential and vital to medical reports. In other words, a medical transcriptionist has to comprehend the medical terms used in the reports, instead of just being able to identify them. A medical transcriptionist possibly will not be able to determine which parts of a report are important if he has no fundamental knowledge of the terms used by medical experts. <bio>triOS Ontario College provides Medical Transcriptionist program careers which gives students the opportunity to work in hospitals, medical offices, rehabilitation centres, long-term. http://www.trios.com </bio>

In pursuit for the true meaning entailed in Freud's attempts to comprehend human cognition, Jacques Lacan elaborates in Ecrits on the relationship between the signifier and the signified as a method of asserting reality, while challenging the reader to seek the meaningful question that needs to be answered. "Who am I?" Using more or less the Socrates methodology of an imaginary dialog between the reader and himself, Lacan enters the world of reality using as his tools the algorithms of metonymic and metaphoric structures. By defining their interrelated existence along with their opposing role in a person's understanding about what he defines as "nature" and oneself, Lacan penetrates the eternal battle between conscious and unconscious thought.

Beginning his journey with the fundamental notion of "I think, therefore I am", directs the reader to accept a revised definition of the same principle, through the use of negation. Specifically, he asserts that: "I am not, where I am the plaything of my thought; I think about what I am where I do not think I am thinking". Through this belief, Lacan introduces the power of negating oneself in order to define existential affirmation. It seems like the mirroring result of the "reality principle" on which he refers to in "The Mirror Stage" is actually the identification of a concrete whole through the realization of the surrounding context in which one lives in. The mirror in his unfolding is the unavoidable truth that cannot be disputed and the first thing that reveals one's existence prior to the actual realization of that mere cognitive self. Although language, signs and all kinds of discourse have made this identification procedure easier for individuals to comprehend, Lacan disputes their initial role in the theoretical perspectives of psychoanalysis and constructs a new environment for them to flourish. They become the artifacts through which sane or insane people conceptualize the world around them and interpret their own intentions.

Continuing his quest in realizing this battlefield between truth and reality, Lacan refers to the connection between dreams and unconscious representation, subjecting himself in different views regarding true intentions and actual desires. Using Freud's initial attempt to foresee one's inclinations and the ego's role in the superstructure of dreams, Lacan manages to derive an interesting conclusion regarding this process. "...we cannot confine ourselves to giving a new truth its rightful place, for the point is to take up our place in it. The truth requires us to go out of our way. We cannot do so by simply getting used to it. We get used to reality. The truth we repress." Then if reality is the truth we repress so as to hold on to our role in this process, what do we see when we look ourselves in the mirror? A lie perhaps? Or just the unknown reality that challenges our comprehension so much that makes us unable to search the deeper source of this truth?

Whatever the answer is for each and every one of us, the issue still remains whether we want to compromise the next time we look in the mirror. "Ignoring the self's radical eccentricity", according to Freud and Lacan, "is a resorting to compromise which disorients all psychoanalytic action and plunges it into darkness." Although the initial desire is that of inner freedom and truth, traveling towards this goal can become the actual prize one gains and the process that makes us consider reaching a mature state of self-actualization and attain self-respect. As Homer has revealed centuries ago, Ithaca is not the issue in this journey, it is the voyage itself that counts. From what it seems, all we humans can do in the meanwhile, is take the risk of continuing our own journey and look from time to time into the mirror of our lives. <bio>Kadence Buchanan writes articles for http://worldofartandleisure.com/ - In addition, Kadence also writes articles for http://itsfamilytime.net/ and http://ijewelrycenter.com/ </bio>

Creating a home based business requires a variety of objectives. A product, a marketing plan and a business design are just the beginning. The concept of accounting needs to be factored into your formula for finding internet success. The foundation for making money online requires a firm grasp of where your revenue is derived and where your costs are allocated. This includes balancing the books, maintaining accounts receivable and calculating accounts payable. A certification in accounting may not be needed to start an online venture but it is a good idea to have an awareness of income and expenses.

Understanding the ideas behind accounting is like studying science for the first time. The terms can be intimidating. Cash Flow. Balance Sheets. Profit And Loss Comparison. Many potential home business entrepreneurs may think that a degree in accounting is needed for applying these foreign concepts to achieving their online success. The reality is that comprehending the theories of accounting is not that difficult. If you exhibit the skills and aptitude that are needed for starting and developing your home business, you have the ability to understand and apply accounting concepts.

If you find that it is too difficult to comprehend the principles behind accounting, don't lose heart. You can hire someone to crunch and balance the financial numbers for your home business, but be cautious! Make sure that you employ an individual who is trustworthy and reputable. The best course of action is to ask friends and relatives if they can recommend someone. If this is not feasible, research the reputations of accountants or CPAs in your community. It should not be too difficult to find someone with an honest and reliable track record. Remember, you are giving financial information to a stranger so be sure you are comfortable with your decision.

Accounting is more than facts, figures, and cash flow. It spreads into every aspect of your home based business. After you analyze the bookkeeping information, you can study the trends of your customer's buying activities. You will discover which customer buys what product at what time of year. These numbers will give you a deeper understanding of what is working and what is not performing for your online venture. Not only will you comprehend what was successful and what was disappointing in the past, but you can develop a business and marketing plan for the present and future. Quality accounting is the compass that directs your home business along the road you travel for finding success.

As you are developing your home based venture it is important to utilize every tool that is available. Marketing techniques, search engine optimization, business plans and online advertising are important components for the creating your home business. Accounting must be included in your formula for making money online. Accounting is the roadmap for discovering your internet success. You will know where your profits come from. You will detect the best products to sell. You will recognize your overhead. You will understand the present and plan for the future. Reliable accounting is a valuable tool for finding home business success and it is vital that you use it perceptively.

"The man who has done his level best, and who is conscious that he has done his best, is a success, even though the world may write him down a failure." <bio>John Fortner lives in Oregon and works from his home through his online pursuits.
Online quizzes can be great tools in helping students learn and check their comprehension of the information they have been taught. However, a quiz must be worded, ordered, and structured properly to ensure that students understand the appropriate material.

Like written quizzes, online quizzes are usually short in length and specifically test a student's ability to comprehend information previously presented to him. For example, a student may read a lesson about the history of the automobile and then answer questions about who created the internal combustion engine, who created the Model T, and so forth.

One thing to keep into consideration, however, is that a quiz should test a student's ability to recall pertinent details and make generalizations about the entire subject on which he is tested. Instructors commonly create questions that test irrelevant details or are too directly related to the material to be of value to the student. One instructor may ask for dates and names of famous battles in English history, and a particular student may do very well on this quiz. However, when he is assessed on his knowledge of English history and asked to write an assessment on the War of the Roses, he could very well come up short. The disparity stems from the low-level, pure comprehension nature of the questions in the quiz as compared to the higher-level thought process required to write an analysis of history.

Teachers also can make the mistake of creating questions that are overly general. One of the common complaints of students is that questions appear too abstract or ambiguous, and this is often true. An instructor may ask a question like: "What was the nature of early English-Native American interaction?" Such a question is perfectly innocuous, but when the answer choices are given as one-word characterizations like "timid," "overbearing," and "indifferent," students are left to guess what a teacher "meant to ask" rather than ponder the material covered in the quiz.

A teacher must strike a balance between questions that are overly specific or overly general. While it is not always easy to tell what a "good" question entails, here are a few guidelines:

* The question should reflect the student's ability to comprehend and not simply recall information

* The question should aid in a student's analysis of the information presented

* The question should be worded such that the student cannot determine the answer easily by process of elimination from the answer choices

* Good questions require the judgment of the student so that the student does not just choose the "correct" answer, but the "best" answer

Consider the following two questions as illustrations of the points above. Both questions ask essentially the same thing, but one is a good question while the other is decidedly ineffective as a learning tool.

Is the NFL-AFL merger considered an example of monopoly? Why or why not?

Which features of a monopoly did the NFL-AFL merger exhibit? Which features allowed for an exemption from antitrust law?

While both of the above questions test a on a student's knowledge of antitrust legislation and the NFL-AFL merger, the above question is ambiguous as to what the question really wants the student to respond with. The question below, while asking basically the same information, requires the student to cite specific examples of features of monopolies and antitrust while guiding the student in an effective analytical response. Clearly, the bottom question is superior.

Of course, it is difficult to judge every question as a "good" or "bad" question, but over time, educators can get a feel for the effectiveness of the quizzes by the responses they receive from their respective students. Effective quizzes will help students use knowledge in analytic responses and on lengthy assessments. Ineffective quizzes will encourage students to "brain dump," or cram. If used correctly, quizzes are an indispensable tool to the educator and a great learning tool for the student. <bio>ProProfs Quiz School is a free web based tool that enables educators to create online quizzes and practice tests for their students .
If you've been thinking about joining an online MLM opportunity you might have searched the Internet for as much information as you could find in order to satisfy your thirst to know more on the subject. I am certain that you have read incredible stories of people who as distributors in online network marketing companies met great success while working at home. They managed to harness the power of the web in order to generate hundreds of leads per day something that distributors working offline would never be able to achieve.

All of them got you excited for sure and made you want a piece of the action. But then the virus of doubt enter your mind as you started thinking that all of these things that you read, for sure required some know how and some technical expertise. That such people who succeeded in Internet network marketing surely are not common and they must posses some higher intelligence compared to ordinary and average folks like you and me. That they are only the exception in the vast sea of distributors that join an online MLM business opportunity and never succeed.

In the end you must have wondered, is it really online MLM for me? Do I have a chance to make it with this business model?

To answer that question let's take all your doubts one by one.

First, a certain know how is necessary in order to succeed with an online multilevel marketing business. But we are talking about simple things that an average person that has finished high school can comprehend and start implementing them easily. You don't need to take a college course to learn those things. There are a lot of resources online to educate yourself on how to make an network marketing business to work on the Internet. Add to that that the online MLM company would certainly give some training to its new distributors to help them learn how to recruit and make sales online and that there is also your sponsor to guide you and you are pretty covered.

And the technical expertise that you so much afraid, is not necessary at all. The Internet has become very user friendly the last years, not only for the surfers but for the entrepreneurs too. Today there is software and other online tools that someone can use for his online MLM marketing needs that require no certain knowledge or experience. There are so easy to use as a word processor and there are many websites on the Internet with great and detailed information on using them that anyone can comprehend. What's more is that if you don't even want to bother with that minimum learning, whether because you don't have the time or you are lazy, you always have the possibility to hire others to do it for you, in which case you need to have the necessary capital to invest.

Second, those that have succeeded in online MLM already and you take them as examples are not some extraordinary individuals with great capabilities and talent that succeeded because of that. Yes, they are unique like every one of us is, but they were not born superhumans and geniuses nor they are. They are just simple people like you and me. In fact being clever is not a requirement for succeeding in business. There are many people in this world that are too clever, but yet they stay poor. When it comes to business, traits like being humble, hard worker, ready to accept criticism, self aware by knowing your strengths and weaknesses, and persistent are far more important in helping you to succeed.

Third, as whether those individuals that have succeeded in building a profitable online MLM business are the exception to the rule while the majority fails miserably, there is a dose of true in this. Although I wouldn't call them exception, but rather a minority of the distributors that are trying to make an income on the Internet with network marketing, as there is a big percentage of people who fail, but there are reasons for it. Do you remember the traits that can help someone succeed in business that we mentioned above? Well, most of those that failed didn't posses any of them. They were after the easy and quick profits and entered the multilevel marketing business model with that mentality. But unfortunately, in life there is no such thing as get rich quick nor would ever be. So they gave up without putting any effort into their business and most of the times without having done anything at all.

So to find out whether online MLM is for you or not you have to answer these questions to yourself. Are you after building a long term sustainable business and not after quick riches? Are you willing to learn the few necessary things in order to start operating your home business efficiently or pay the money to outsource those activities if you don't want to learn? Are you a humble and persistent hard worker, willing to give the necessary time to your business in order to flourish?

If you answered yes to all those questions, then yes, an online MLM business is suitable for you and you have what it takes in order to succeed with it. If not, then perhaps it would be better to seek for other alternatives for your future as probably that model is not suitable for you.<bio>If you believe that Online MLM is for you we have the way to help you to succeed with it.
I would like to touch on a subject most students probably never consider, namely, the great importance of asking questions to your professor. Ask! Never let this three letter word disappear from your life, always be sure to ask when in doubt. This will most likely prove to become one of your greatest assets on your long academic journey.

Always inquire your professor about things that might be unclear to you, but only and I repeat, only if this is important and vital for your particular course and only if it's very relevant to the subject. Remember that university/college professors are humans too, I know it's hard to comprehend, and they too hate it when hundreds of irrelevant questions are posed.

If you really want to know the importance of a good question, just ask your self how many times you have received certain important pieces of information through a question. Most likely, this must have occurred hundreds of times, hence my advice to you is:

Do not be afraid to pose a question when you are sure it's both important and relevant to the subject. Also, don't make your question sound sophisticated just to be rendered as sophisticated by the attendees, your asking because you want an answer not due to personal ego. Finally, I would like to end with some words I heard from a dean at Harvard a while ago:

"A Question ends with a Question mark"

It sounds so simple yet so many people tend to neglect this. I have to say, people are severely annoyed by those who make long winded comments under the "disguise" of a question. This is often seen on debates or at other types of public speakings, if you have a question, make sure it ends with a question mark! I hope you understood that, didn't you? <bio>Adam Abderisak, a.k.a. "Study Coach" is an education instructor and entrepreneur. His latest work is a study guide entitled "Study Guide Pro".
