<content:encoded><![CDATA[ Once you have recorded your <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/musical+composition" rel="tag">musical composition</a> onto a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/midi+sequencer" rel="tag">MIDI sequencer</a>, what next? Well, you may have noticed some mistakes in your playing that you want to correct. Or you may want to change the composition to make it sound better. Or you may want to copy your composition into another file and gradually modify it until it becomes a whole new song and you have two compositions instead on just one. Whatever the reason, there are two ways that you can modify your original recording =96 <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/real+time" rel="tag">real time</a> or step-entering. <br /><br /> Real time modification is just what it sounds like =96 you have the sequencer play back the composition and then fiddle with the controls to modify it as you please. When you get it the way you want it, you can overdub your original track or record the latest version of your Magnum Opus in another file. The advantage of this method is that =96 well, it's just more fun that way, and you can get immediate real-time feedback on how various changes to the composition will make it sound. The disadvantage is that you have to have pretty good kinetic memory and eye-hand coordination in order to make your changes the way you want it =96 in other words, you have to be pretty good at playing your instrument live. <br /><br /> If you don't want to modify your composition in real time because your skill level isn't high enough or because you want to make very complex or exacting modifications, then you can always proceed to "step-enter" your changes. If you have a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/software+sequencer" rel="tag">software sequencer</a> such as Reason, Cubase, Logic, etc., it will include a display board where the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/midi+commands" rel="tag">MIDI commands</a> that make up your composition are displayed through the use of visual symbols (not the numerical <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/midi+messages" rel="tag">MIDI messages</a> themselves). <br /><br /> Once familiar with the meanings of the various symbols on the display board, even Poindexter the Geek can produce a hip-sounding song, all without a drop of rhythm in his body. Step-entering is the most effective way to take a tune from your head and put it into a recording without having to depend on physical mediums such as kinetic memory, rhythm, and eye-hand coordination. It seems only fair, because today's electronic music was made possible by nerdy scientific types who probably can't dance to the music that their technological breakthroughs made possible. <bio>"MIDI Software Guide" at <a href="http://midisoftwareguide.blogspot.com" >http://midisoftwareguide.blogspot.com</a> offers readers comprehensive information about MIDI based home recording software. <content:encoded><![CDATA[When you think about some of the most exciting professions that you have heard of, chances are pretty good that <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/geology" rel="tag">geology</a> never made your Top Ten List. Now of course this comes as no surprise to most as spending 40-plus hours a week looking at rocks probably doesn't sound too appealing. But while geology may not get the adrenaline pumping like being a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/nascar+driver" rel="tag">NASCAR driver</a> or skydive instructor, the fact remains that the field remains challenging and essential to our understanding of the planet on which we live. <br /><br /> While many believe that geology is merely the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/study+of+rocks" rel="tag">study of rocks</a>, the truth is that it is far more complicated than that. In truth, geologists seek to uncover hidden passages in one of the greatest stories ever--the history of our planet. And yes, geology does make use of rocks and their formation as a means of interpreting the history of our planet--but it is the story itself that is actually being pursued. The rocks, in that sense, become mere tools in the quest to interpret our planet's history--not the actual point of geology itself. However, the rocks are important too! <br /><br /> A rock is basically any naturally occurring concentration of minerals or mineraloids. Rocks can be classified in three basic manners: Classification via the mineral/chemical composition; Classifying based upon the texture of the rock and its constituent parts; Or, classification based upon the physical processes that helped form the rock. <br /><br /> There are three basic rock types for anyone in geology to identify: igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/igneous+rocks" rel="tag">Igneous rocks</a> are formed by volcanic activity. Those that were formed from lava after a volcano erupted are called volcanic while rocks formed inside the earth due to magma are known as <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/intrusive+igneous+rock" rel="tag">intrusive igneous rock</a>. <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/sedimentary+rocks" rel="tag">Sedimentary rocks</a> are any that were formed by sediment. <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/metamorphic+rocks" rel="tag">Metamorphic rocks</a> are formed by extreme heat or pressure changes within the earth. <br /><br /> Again, while it may seem like geology only concerns itself with rocks, the point is that the rocks tell a story about how our planet came to be the way it is today. Mass extinction events can be tied to volcanic activity as a result of geological studies. The very composition of the atmosphere can also be determined through geological analysis. All of these and many more questions can be answered through geology--and the more we know about our past, the better prepared we are for the future. <bio>Science-Explored.com makes <a href="http://www.science-explored.com" >http://www.science-explored.com</a> exciting! <content:encoded><![CDATA[<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/" rel="tag"></a>There has been much discussion, both among experts and lay people about the 'greenhouse effect.' The greenhouse effect is a term that refers to changes in the Earth's atmospheric composition, which have been related to the warming of our planet. There is a growing amount of evidence that human activities, particularly those relating to the burning of fossil fuels like oil and coal, are major contributors to the greenhouse effect. The predicted consequences for the planet as a result of the greenhouse effect are extremely serious. They include major changes in the climate that will have an impact on food production and rising sea levels, which will put many coastal and other low-lying communities under water. <br /><br /> Additional information that we have learned about the planet Venus provide a frightening example of the greenhouse effect. Venus has a very dense atmosphere made up of gases. The planet has what has been described as a 'runaway greenhouse effect.' It has surface temperature of about 800 degrees Fahrenheit. <br /><br /> Experts generally point to gases like carbon dioxide as the main contributors to the greenhouse effect. Carbon dioxide, which is a gas that is exhaled by everyone, can absorb infrared radiation. This type of radiation is heat that is radiating away from a warm object. During the day, the Earth is warmed by sunlight, and at night, the Earth cools off by radiating the heat back into space in the form of infrared radiation. Carbon dioxide, and other gases to some extent, absorb this radiation and limit its exit into space. Therefore, the natural cooling mechanism is thwarted. <br /><br /> While it may seem that eliminating the greenhouse effect would be the best strategy, this is not what we want to do. Water vapor represents another element in the heat-absorbing process. There is a great amount of water vapor in the atmosphere at all times. This is why we experience rain. We need the water vapor in the atmosphere to keep the Earth at its normal, comfortable temperature. Without the warmth created by water vapor, the planet would freeze, and that would be the end of life as we know it. Therefore, we need to have some degree of the 'greenhouse effect' in order to maintain life on Earth. <br /><br /> We need to strike a balance. Mother Nature is telling us, again, what we should already have learned by now -- in any situation, extremes of any kind cause harm. <bio>To learn more about our environment and the world we live in visit <a href="http://environmentadvice.com" >http://environmentadvice.com</a> </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/musical+composition" rel="tag">Musical composition</a> can happen in advance with an aim towards repeat performance or it can happen on the spot when musicians improvise or jam. Composition describes the formal construction of a piece of music, both it's <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/incarnation" rel="tag">incarnation</a> on paper and its performance incarnation. Originally <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/western+music" rel="tag">Western music</a> was composed for the church and for worship. Its function was to be repeated but the artistic/creative elements of musical composition were lacking as the music itself was more pedagogical in purpose. Once polyphonic sounds began to creep in, composers began to <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/record+music" rel="tag">record music</a> on paper for future performance. This begins to happen when the view of music starts to change from that of a form of worship to a form of worship that also provides audio pleasure. <br /><br /> There is a mathematical precision to musical composition that is present in most studies of musical theory. Though music is a creative art, its composition and performance is both scientific and mathematical and adheres to certain rules of rhythm and spacing on the page in order to sound a particular way. <br /><br /> Traditional <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/gregorian+chant+notation" rel="tag">Gregorian Chant notation</a>, some of the first <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/written+music" rel="tag">written music</a> in Western culture, is written in "neumes". Neumes are the most basic building block of musical notation and predate the introduction of the five line staff notation. These original notations were simple dashes on a page. They did not always indicate a note to be sung as far as the pitch was concerned, but, rather, were an indication in what kind of sound was to be made and sometimes in what order. Though neumes are visually reminiscent of their later incarnation in the five line staff notation, their rules were completely different. Two, dashes, one a top of the other, might mean that the bottom "note" was to be sung first followed by the top. Other things are very close in range. For instance, when a dot was placed after a neume it was meant to indicate that the note was to be a held for a length of time. This same structure exists in <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/modern+music" rel="tag">modern music</a> in the five line staff notation. <br /><br /> The earliest neumes were actually Aramaic, and did not originate in the early Christian Church. They were originally used to indicate how and with what tonal attributes a religious text was meant to be read. The utilization of neumes was the first step towards the composition and formal construction of music. <bio>Taisha Grant writes about <a href="http://www.musicalinstrumentsetc.com,http://www.musicalinstrumentsetc.com/Coupons/Woodwind%20and%20Brasswind.html" >http://www.musicalinstrumentsetc.com,http://www.musicalinstrumentsetc.com/Coupons/Woodwind%20and%20Brasswind.html</a> and <a href="http://www.musicalinstrumentsetc.com/Coupons/GearTree.com.html" >http://www.musicalinstrumentsetc.com/Coupons/GearTree.com.html</a> </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[When you're just starting up with <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/wildlife+photography" rel="tag">wildlife photography</a>, composition can be a daily challenge. It gets even more difficult if you're dealing with a moving, uncooperative subject. There's not much to learn on how to deal with such a subject. However, experience will teach you how to be quicker and improve your chances to catch the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/right+moment" rel="tag">right moment</a>. <br><br>There are a few tips to help you improve your composition in wildlife photography. First of all, photograph the animals in places where they are used to having people around. They don't necessarily have be closed spaces such as a zoo. You can try a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/picnic+ground" rel="tag">picnic ground</a> or camping in a national park, where animals may even come close to look for food. Then you can approach them slow enough not to scare them away. Secondly, prepare your exposure in advance so you won't lose <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/precious+time" rel="tag">precious time</a> when you're near the animal. If you have constant light, you can position the camera in the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/right+direction" rel="tag">right direction</a> and set the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/shutter+speed+and+aperture" rel="tag">shutter speed and aperture</a>. Then all you have to do is focus on the composition.<br><br>However, the composition itself is a challenge and many don't know where to start. Let's start by breaking it into two types of photos: close-ups and non close-ups. If you have a close up, the subject fills most of the photo. Many people wonder whether to position it in the center or towards one side. You can place it in the center, just make sure you do leave some space around it or the composition will look cramped. This option is particularly good if the animal is looking to the camera or just a little to one side. If the subject is facing left or right, consider positioning it to one side of the photo. You can use the direction of its look to decide on which side to place it. If it faces right, place it towards the left side and viceversa. However, don't position it too close to one side or another: you don't want half of your picture to be empty. <br><br>Things can get more complicated with non close-up photos. In these cases, it is better to think of the composition as a landscape. You can use the Rule-of-Third, which is a tried-and-true technique, to decide where you position the subject (google it in case you haven't heard about it). For landscape photos, the composition can look quite unbalanced if you position the subject right in the middle. It is best to place it towards one side or the other. Now the direction of the subject's eyes is even more important. When we look at a photo, we tend to look in the same direction as the subject. So if your subject is facing right and you place it on the left side, people will look towards the center of the photo. Otherwise they will look outside the photo. It would be nice to have something interesting in the center of the picture or towards the opposite side from where you place the subject. It can be just about anything - a beach, a tree, a beautiful sky - as long as it has a strong visual impact. If you can't find anything, you can zoom in so that you don't leave to much empty space. <br><br>These small guidelines are aimed to give you some ideas in case you get stuck. However, you should use your own judgement and sense of balance to take the best out of any situation. As long as you can position the subject right, everything else will just fall into place.<bio>D. is a writer in the field of picture resizers at the company Reshade. <content:encoded><![CDATA[ There is so much to be learned in life, sometimes I find myself overwhelmed with all that I do not know. I've heard it said, however, that the smartest people are the ones that know that they do not know much. I like that. I like it because I am acutely aware that there is so much that I have yet to <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/discover" rel="tag">discover</a> and understand. I am committed, however, to the process of constantly learning more. My latest subject of <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/fascination" rel="tag">fascination</a> has been wondering and learning about <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/earth+science" rel="tag">earth science</a>. <br /><br /> I haven't honestly thought that much about earth science since I took a class in it in junior high school. At that time I hated everything to do with science and so I didn't give much thought one way or another to earth science. I dreadfully made it through that class learning only the basics enough to get by (not the least of which I can remember now). <br /><br /> I'm not quite sure what inspired me to attempt to discover facts about earth science. I <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/guess" rel="tag">guess</a> I began to become more interested in earth science as I had children and they grew up asking question after question. I could barely take them on walks at night without them asking me questions about the ground, the soil, the trees or the sun. I would fumble through answers and try to change the subject quickly as I admitted to myself that I really did not know much. So on my next trip to the library I picked up a few general books on earth science and began learning with my kids. <br /><br /> I have found that learning with my kids has become one of the best ways to grow in knowledge. I utilize their <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/curiosity" rel="tag">curiosity</a> and take every chance I can at learning with them. It has been a great way for me to learn more about earth science and other things. I never knew how much <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/motherhood" rel="tag">motherhood</a> would affect me, but I certainly didn't know how much I would learn because of my children's <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/hunger" rel="tag">hunger</a> for knowledge. <br /><br /> I have learned many things about earth science since our studies have begun. One of the biggest things I have learned is a deeper sense of appreciation for the world I live in. I have grown in amazement and wonder about the way the world works and about my small and insignificant place. I simply am astounded by the intricacies and details of our earth. Earth science has made me even more curious about the world around me. <br /><br /> If you have a craving to learn more about the world you live in, then start with grabbing a few books on earth science. You'll love learning so much that you won't be able to stop. <bio>Analeese Burnabaker has enjoyed the learning that comes with motherhood immensely. <content:encoded><![CDATA[ It is one of the most essential elements to taking pictures. It can either make or break a photo. Entire books could be, and have been, written on the subject. As an introduction to <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/composition" rel="tag">composition</a>, this article aims to give an overview of the main points on how to compose photos and improve your photography. <br /><br /> What is your subject? The most important part of composition is having a clearly defined subject. Decide what the photo is about and hone in on that. It may be a single person in a crowd, or an abandoned house sitting in a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/rustic+landscape" rel="tag">rustic landscape</a>. Whatever you decide to make the subject of your photo, decide how to emphasize it and go from there. Choose whether to include other elements in an image based on weather they say something about your subject or not. For example, you may wish to include that huge tree standing near your abandoned house to give scale to the image. On the other hand, you might decide to leave it out if you want the house to appear larger. What you leave out of an image is as important as what you include. <br /><br /> <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/rule+of+thirds" rel="tag">Rule of Thirds</a> Firstly, what is it? Using the rule of thirds means to divide the scene into thirds horizontally and vertically, so you have an imaginary 9 <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/square+grid" rel="tag">square grid</a>, and place your subject along one of these lines. Generally this produces a composition that is more pleasing to the eye. Some photographers stick religiously to this rule and others intentionally break it every time they take a photo. Me? I'm somewhere in the middle. I believe that there are times when the rule works best and other times when it leaves the image looking a little bland. So my advice on this is learn the rule and practice with it, but also practice breaking it. <br /><br /> Get creative Being a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/travel+photographer" rel="tag">travel photographer</a>, I often end up in places that have been photographed before. In fact, in this age of <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/high+volume+digital" rel="tag">high volume digital</a> photography, it is nearly impossible to find a subject that hasn't been covered comprehensively. This presents a challenge: to come up with a new take on an old subject. To make your images stand out you need to do something different. Often this means looking for different angles. Something new and fresh. This might mean getting down on the ground for a low viewpoint, or tilting your camera on an angle to create a new perspective. Whatever your tactics, always strive to do something that hasn't been done. One of my favorite methods is to look at pictures others have taken of your subject before you shoot and think what the opposite viewpoint would be. <br /><br /> Composition can be a simple task. But is essential to understand what makes a good composition rise above a bad one. Like with everything else, the more you practice the easier it will come to you. Eventually it will become so ingrained that you will do it without realizing you are doing it. It is simply a matter of experimenting and finding what works for you. <bio>Mark Eden is a freelance travel photographer and writer, and the founder and director of Expanse Photography, a photographic services company offering fine art, limited edition prints as well as stock and assignment photography and publishing services. <content:encoded><![CDATA[One thing we can always be certain of is our advancement in technology. Ever since that first trip to the moon, our curiosity has more than heightened. We now have the ability to achieve <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/satellite+images+of+earth" rel="tag">satellite images of earth</a>. <br /><br /> This has given the human race an incomparable new take on space and how the earth fits into the scheme of things. With the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/satellite+technology" rel="tag">satellite technology</a> we currently enjoy on a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/daily+basis" rel="tag">daily basis</a>, anything seems possible, and nothing out of our reach. <br /><br /> Much of the mystery and awe were relieved when we received our first satellite images of earth. The layout and contrasts of land and water could be seen in a whole new light. It's funny if you think about actually seeing the world we live on from that point of view. It can leave you in constant wonder, and keep you pondering the possibilities. <br /><br /> With the satellite images of earth we take these days, it is actually possible for us to better understand the surrounding planets. After all, all are quite different in many respects. <br /><br /> Through satellite technology we can predict weather before it arrives. This is probably one of the most common ways we make use of <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/satellites" rel="tag">satellites</a>. In understanding that storm front approaching, we have a much better chance of dealing with any problems. Each night when we tune into the news, we can witness the results of satellites through the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/weather+forecast" rel="tag">weather forecast</a>. <br /><br /> Your local meteorologist always shows satellite images and gives predictions. In addition to <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/weather+reports" rel="tag">weather reports</a>, satellite images of earth and surrounding areas offer us a consistent update of what goes on around our planet. We would surely want to know if <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/meteors" rel="tag">meteors</a> or any other damaging elements were drawing near. Satellites make it possible for us to stay ahead of the game. <br /><br /> While satellite images of earth have certainly answered many of our redundant questions about our planet and the way it looks and functions, there is still much uncovered. Satellites and trips into space are always unveiling new and exciting things concerning our universe overall. You can find out a great deal about space and view satellite images of earth online, in the comfort of your own home. It doesn't get much better than that. The Internet provides you with a deluge of information and photos of earth and surrounding planets that will blow your mind. Hop online and take a peek. <bio>It is an amazing thing to see satellite images of earth. <a href="http://satelliteimagesofearth.info/">http://satelliteimagesofearth.info/</a> </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[When people set their New Year's resolutions, one of the top items on many lists is to "lose weight." While this goal seems fairly positive for the overweight, successful body composition is better defined as building muscle and burning fat. After all, if you lose five pounds of muscle, are you really any healthier because of it?<br><br>From here out, instead of thinking about the term "weight loss" when it comes to the weight scale, we're going to use the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/term+body+composition" rel="tag">term body composition</a>. Body composition is a measure of now only how much you way, but what you're made of. A six-foot tall, 220-<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/pound+football" rel="tag">pound football</a> player doesn't need to worry about weight loss. Considering most of that mass is muscle, they are far healthier than the six-foot tall, 220-<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/pound+man" rel="tag">pound man</a> who works in the office every day. It's not about how much you weight; it's about what you're made of!<br><br>Fortunately, many people who are severely overweight will lose a lot more fat than muscle when their weight drops. However, as individuals begin to reach their body's "ideal weight," it becomes much harder to keep on the muscle when a body is under a caloric deficit. A more successful person would look to build muscle, rather than plainly lose weight. Bodies with more muscle burn more calories, and combined with a healthy, balanced diet, reaching a healthy weight is very simple to achieve.<br><br>The quantity of calories in a diet dictates how slowly or quickly your body <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/composition+changes" rel="tag">composition changes</a>. The quality of the calories in a diet dictates what part of your body composition changes. When it comes to the quantity of calories, you want to make sure your weight is fluctuating at a consistent and healthy rate, typically around 1-2 pounds a week. The quality of a diet could be measured on a variety of different factors. Grams of protein and fiber are two important things to consider, as well as cutting sugars and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/saturated+fats" rel="tag">saturated fats</a>. Don't forget to wash down your meals with several glasses of water every day!<br><br>Believe it or not, cutting fat from your diet doesn't necessarily mean you are going to trim fat from your body. If fact, recent research has shown that the opposite may be true. For individuals looking to burn fat from off their body, they should eat measurable portion of their calories from fat, and instead focus on cutting sugars. When your body's blood sugar is high, the body releases more insulin, a hormone that instantly puts your body into fat-storing mode. Definitely not what you want to be happening!<br><br>Aside from diet, the other main component of improving body composition is physical activity.<br><br>People looking to improve their body composition should aim to work out for five hours each week if they hope to see some major improvements. There are products that guarantee results in far less than that, but your results are going to be directly related by how much time and effort you invest into it. Try to work out at least four times a week. Working out keeps your metabolism high and forces your body to improve.<br><br>Find an ideal weight for yourself. Instead of focusing on a scale weight or body mass index, focus on keep body fat at a healthy level. Don't become a statistic. More importantly than the numbers is the way you look and feel about yourself.<bio>Exercise is not the answer for everyone when it comes to loosing weight. Safe drugs such as <a href="http://www.uk-med.co.uk/Drug-Info/Reductil">Reductil</a>, <a href="http://www.uk-med.co.uk/Drug-Info/Xenical">Xenical</a> and <a href="http://www.uk-med.co.uk/Drug-Info/Acomplia">Acomplia</a> have been clinically proven to quickly reduce mass.</bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[Any tourist knows that one of the more important parts of any trip is to bring back tangible memories in forms of souvenirs, tokens and photos. Well, among all these photos can evoke more memories since it lets you see the actual, present images while you were there. <br /><br /> In this article, we have prepared four tips to help you get the most from your African <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/safari+photos" rel="tag">safari photos</a>. <br /><br /> Know the locations of wonder <br /><br /> Too many of amateur photographers don't typically have enough knowledge on the perfect locations for safari photographs. Well, this time you will know some of them. The prime locations are <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/kruger+national+park" rel="tag">Kruger National Park</a> (South Africa), <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/masai+mara" rel="tag">Masai Mara</a> (Kenya), Moremi (Botswana), Serengeti (Tanzania) and Etosha (Namibia). <br /><br /> Bring the proper equipments <br /><br /> You may not have the talent for photography yet with the right equipments and devices, you are sure to bring out the best from even the worst photos you have taken. <br /><br /> Your best buddy for safari photos is the digital camera as it provides you countless advantages that you may never have from other camera units. <br /><br /> Be conscious of the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/composition" rel="tag">composition</a> <br /><br /> Most safari photos are spoiled because they do not have the right subjects in them or the subjects were not thoroughly and properly positioned in the image. You have more control on the composition using positioning principles. Make the most out of the latter though. <br /><br /> The main focus of the composition is how you frame your subjects. <br /><br /> When you choose the composition of the safari photos, you have to have quick decisions, as wild animals dont normally stay for long in single locations. Be extra careful of your movements as well to avoid distracting their attention. <br /><br /> And never forget...be patient <br /><br /> We have no control over the animals that pass our sights. They move at their own phase and at their own time. They simply behave in manners that they naturally do so you cant obviously expect them to move as you want. Be patient in waiting for subjects to come by. And once they do, use all your advantage to capture them in photos. Remember, the most beautiful safari photos are those that depict unusually beautiful movements. <br /><br /> You may not control luck, and that's for a fact. Luck or opportunity is one thing that determines the beauty if action is to be captured in photos. If you are patient, nature may help you see the marvel in each wildlife scene- a chase of preys and predators, lion clubs at play and solitary trees that reserves excellent elegance. <bio>This content is provided by Low Jeremy. <content:encoded><![CDATA[ The Moon is the Earth's natural satellite. It orbits the Earth on a regular basis, much the same as the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/earth+orbits" rel="tag">Earth orbits</a> the Sun. The orbit of the Moon around the Earth creates several interesting conditions and in fact can greatly influence the Earth and everyone on it. <br /><br /> The <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/moon+orbits" rel="tag">Moon orbits</a> the Earth with a synchronous rotation. This means that nearly the same face of the Moon is faced towards the Earth at all times. In fact, only 59% of the face of the Moon can ever be observed from Earth. As the moon rotates, it also completes its orbit. <br /><br /> The Moon completes one orbit of the Earth in 27.3 days, but because during this time, the Earth is also moving, a full lunar cycle is 29.5 days. These lunar cycles are responsible for the phases of the moon. The lunar cycle begins with the new moon. The new moon is when the moon first appears as a small sliver. Some cultures and even some calendars will use this new moon as the basis for the beginning of a new month. <br /><br /> Over the course of the next 14 or so days, the lighted face of the moon will continue to become larger and larger. During this process, the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/moon+cycle" rel="tag">moon cycle</a> is called <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/waxing+gibbous" rel="tag">waxing gibbous</a>. After 1 week, it will resemble a half moon and after the approximately 14 days, it will resemble a full Moon. Over the course of the next 14 or so days, the lighted face of the moon will decrease. This is the waning gibbous cycle. At the end of 7 days, it will be <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/half+a+moon" rel="tag">half a moon</a> and by the end of 14 days, the lighted area will disappear and the cycle will begin again. <br /><br /> This cycle brings up the first of the orbital effects of the moon on society and culture. The 29.5 day moon cycle corresponds to 1 month. The 12 cycles per year corresponds to the 12 months of the year. The approximately 7 days from each half of the moon corresponds to 1 week. Further more, this <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/cycle+of+the+moon" rel="tag">cycle of the Moon</a> also corresponds to the menstrual cycle of many women. <br /><br /> The moon's synchronous rotation as it orbits the Earth also causes the tides. As the moon orbits the Earth, the gravitational <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/pull+of+the+moon" rel="tag">pull of the Moon</a> is causing water to bulge towards it, causes a tide. This similar force will exist on the far side of the Earth as well, hence there are two tide cycles every day. <br /><br /> The Moon's orbit causes eclipses to occur as well. There are two kinds of eclipses, the solar eclipse and the lunar eclipse. The lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth is between the sun and the moon. The lunar eclipse is unique in that we are able to view the shadow of the Earth being cast on the moon. When the Moon is between the Sun and the Earth, we see a solar eclipse. The Moon is passing over the surface of the Sun. <br /><br /> There are so many effects of the Moon's orbit. It has a very unique relationship with us. It has affected our culture, our physical being and even the forces of nature that shape our world. The Moon shows us how interconnected we are to the universe around us. <bio>Written by Simone Poleggi. <content:encoded><![CDATA[ A lot of people have the misconception that perfume is nothing more than perfume. The fact is there are lots of different <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/fragrance+perfume" rel="tag">fragrance perfume</a> varieties available and the quality standards that go into them can vary greatly. Fragrance perfume styles are not one type fits all kind of purchases. <br /><br /> Perfume itself, or parfum, as it's known in French is the strongest variety of scent available. This is perfume in its purest form and is typically the kind of fragrance that costs a small fortune. Parfum is known for having up to 40 percent pure <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/fragrance+oils" rel="tag">fragrance oils</a> in its <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/composition" rel="tag">composition</a>. <br /><br /> With this in mind, scents that are true parfums tend to be not only expensive, but also very strong. Most people who purchase this type of perfume use it very <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/sparingly" rel="tag">sparingly</a> for a reason. The scents of parfums tend to stick with a person for hours and hours on end, which is why it is favored by many despite its higher price. <br /><br /> <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/eau+de+parfum" rel="tag">Eau de parfum</a> is a step down from the stronger parfum variety. These perfumes will contain up to 18 percent fragrance oils. This variety of perfume remains fairly strong and can still be quite costly to purchase. Some of the biggest designer names come in this style, but it's possible to find some great fragrances at lower prices that fit this composition. It's a good idea to use this composition sparingly at first to test its actual strength. <br /><br /> <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/eau+de+cologne" rel="tag">Eau de cologne</a> is for men, it's a fragrance composition that involves about three to five percent fragrance oils. This is the standard for men's cologne, but aftershaves might use even less oil in their mix. <br /><br /> Eau de toilette is a very common and often affordable type of perfume. Using up to eight percent fragrance oils, this type of perfume is stronger then cologne, but might require a few applications for all-day scent. This fragrance perfume composition is favored by many because it tends to not overpower, no matter the fragrance, and does <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/dissipate" rel="tag">dissipate</a> faster than stronger mixes. <br /><br /> As the compositions for fragrance perfume styles varies, so too do the different scents. Perfumes can range from heavy musk fragrances to softer, sportier varieties. While there are only three major classifications of perfume scents, there are literally hundreds of different fragrances within these classes. Hitting on the perfect scent for a person will likely take a little time. <br /><br /> Selecting just the right fragrance perfume can be a very personal undertaking. Where one buyer mind find the stronger musk scents in true parfum to die for another might enjoy the wispier, soft fragrances that can be found in lower oil compositions. Inasmuch, it's not a bad idea to try on different scents for size before buying them. <br /><br /> If a particular scent is liked, but it seems too strong, consider checking to see if it comes in a lower percentage of oil variety. Some of the major brand names offer scents in parfum and even eau de toilette varieties for this reason. <br /><br /> Fragrance perfume choices can be wonderful for helping set a tone about a person. From strong and bold to frilly and feminine, the choices of fragrance perfume styles are many. If one doesn't fit, it's likely many others will. <bio>Get all the latest in perfume know how from the one and only true source at <a href="http://www.AllPerfumeInfo.com" >http://www.AllPerfumeInfo.com</a>. <content:encoded><![CDATA[ A <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/midi+sequencer" rel="tag">MIDI sequencer</a> is a device that records a song that you play on a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/midi+instrument" rel="tag">MIDI instrument</a> (or series of instruments) and uses the recorded data to play these instruments the same way that you did when you recorded them. It is more than just a glorified tape recorder, though. What gets recorded is not the sounds themselves, but the commands that you gave the MIDI electronic instruments that told them to play this or that note in this or that sequence with a particular tone, volume, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/pitch" rel="tag">pitch</a>, <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/timbre" rel="tag">timbre</a>, etc. The recording takes the form of a series of numbers that, when translated into electronic form, cause the sequencer to send out <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/electrical+pulses" rel="tag">electrical pulses</a> that play back the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/composition" rel="tag">composition</a> just as you played it. Once these commands are recorded in digital form they can be modified in just about any way you like, so that you can keep adjusting your song any way you please without having to play the entire composition again every time you want to make a change. It's sort of like the difference between a typewriter and a word processor in its ability to easily modify anything it records, including mistake you may have made during recording. <br /><br /> But it's even better than that =96 a MIDI sequencer offers a degree of control over your recording that is unmatched. For example, when you play back digital audio at a higher speed, it changes not only the tempo but the timbre and the pitch as well, resulting in a distortion of the original sound. A MIDI sequencer will alter the tempo without changing either the timbre or the pitch (unless you want it to). <br /><br /> In fact, there are a million (or more) alterations you can make to your composition until you get it sounding just the way you want it to sound, and these alterations can be made either real time (during playback) or you can stop playback and re-arrange each note individually using a display that includes symbols representing every aspect of your recording. <bio>"<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/midi+software" rel="tag">MIDI Software</a> Guide" at <a href="http://midisoftwareguide.blogspot.com" >http://midisoftwareguide.blogspot.com</a> offers readers comprehensive information about MIDI based home recording software. <content:encoded><![CDATA[<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/earth+spirit" rel="tag">Earth Spirit</a> shoes are a well-known brand thanks to their comfortable style and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/budget+prices" rel="tag">budget prices</a>. They are carried in retailers like Wal-Mart and Sears, alongside other major discount <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/shoe+retailers" rel="tag">shoe retailers</a>. But, are they still good quality? For a useful review of Earth Spirit and their brand of shoes, keep reading.<br><br>Earth Spirit Prices<br><br>Earth Spirit shoes are very reasonably priced - with styles ranging in price from about $20 to $40 and most models costing less than $30. Overall, this is a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/budget+brand" rel="tag">budget brand</a> and should not be confused with <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/earth+shoes" rel="tag">Earth Shoes</a>, a popular comfort brand that costs significantly more.<br><br>Earth Spirit's Comfort and Fit<br><br>Earth Spirits are actually significantly more comfortable than you might ordinarily expect from a budget brand. They offer gel inserts and cushioned supports designed to cradle the foot while also absorbing impact and shock. The shoes even have <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/flexible+soles" rel="tag">flexible soles</a>, making them great for walking or light, outdoor activities.<br><br>In general, Earth Spirit sells a wider-fitting shoe, making them a nice fit for those who struggle with having wider feet. They're comfortable enough for everyday casual use, but aren't recommended for heavy-duty hiking or athletic use.<br><br>The Brand's Overall Quality and Durability<br><br>Admittedly, these are budget shoes - and while they may be comfortable, they're simply not designed to last for decades. Most buyers find they get a good season out of these shoes before it's time to retire them.<br><br>The biggest quality and durability problem for these shoes? The soles come apart from the shoe. Because they're glued on rather than stitched on, the glue can lose its adhesiveness over time. Eventually, especially if the shoe gets wet, the sole comes apart from the shoe. So, while it may be a good deal for $20, you shouldn't pay too much more for this brand.<br><br>Earth Spirit's Design and Style<br><br>The overall design and style of the Earth Spirit brand is definitely "earthy." They're often described as a hippie shoe and have a casual, natural and laid back look that's great for banging around the cottage, popping around the yard or spending an afternoon gardening.<br><br>So, while they're not the most contemporary shoes, they're great for running errands. You wouldn't wear them for a night out (unless you're going to see a Phish tribute band), but they're definitely doable around town.<br><br>Conclusion<br><br>Overall, these are a great shoe if you need a comfortable sandal or flat to take your through the summer. They're durable enough to last a season, wonderfully priced and they fit well. For something a little more durable or fashionable, you may have to move up the price ladder.<br><br>Given the relative brevity of their "life span," Earth Spirit shoes generally find their popularity among those who are looking first for a combination of comfort and low cost. One benefit of this is that once the shoes wear out, their price point is inexpensive enough to allow the purchase of the following year's newer models.<bio>For great information on shoe style options, see shoestyletips.com, a popular site about footwear recommendations, such as a <a href="http://www.shoestyletips.com/journey-shoes.shtml">Journey shoes</a>, <a href="http://www.shoestyletips.com/earth-spirit-shoes.shtml">Earth Spirit shoes</a>, and many more!</bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[ With the popularity of the Internet, many people are violating <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/music+copyright+law" rel="tag">music copyright law</a> and do not even know it. Music copyright law can be very tricky. There are multiple <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/music+copyrights" rel="tag">music copyrights</a> that you must keep in mind =96 lyrics, composition and the recording of the music by an artist. Using someone's music may involve you acquiring many different licenses such as mechanical, synchronization, performance and publishing licenses. <br /><br /> Music copyright law has separate copyrights for the vocal or instrumental recordings of a composition or performance and the copyright of the written lyrics and music. Standard <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/music+copyrighting" rel="tag">music copyrighting</a> practices usually entail that the writer of the song retains the rights to the right to the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/music+composition" rel="tag">music composition</a> which the studio that did the recording of the music holds the rights of the recording. Music copyright law can get very complicated. It can involve negotiations with the writers, producers, agents, heirs and more. <br /><br /> Many artists and studios are upset with the decline in music sales. They are attributing this decline to people who are violating copyright laws by <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/downloading+music" rel="tag">downloading music</a> on the Internet. Music files are under the same copyright law as <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/music+recordings" rel="tag">music recordings</a> and the owners of these copyrights are entitled to royalties or compensation for the music that people are illegally downloading on the Internet. <br /><br /> The simple fact is you are stealing if you make copies of copyrighted music recordings without authorization. If people were sued for the music they have downloaded illegally, it could result in thousands of dollars. Music copyright law states that it is illegal to duplicate and distribute creative work. If you send someone an <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/email" rel="tag">email</a> with a song that you have illegally downloaded on the Internet, you could be in for some serious trouble. To put it bluntly and plainly, if you download (or upload) music that is copyrighted without permission, you are breaking the law. <br /><br /> Many people violate music copyright law and do not even understand how their actions are criminal. If you purchase a music CD you can make a copy of it for yourself on your MP3. However, if you then use that recording and put it on your website or blog and make it available for everyone to download, you are performing an illegal act. Even if you join a site and pay a fee to download music, you are in violation of music copyright law. <br /><br /> This may sound like something that would never come back to haunt you. After all, if you were caught, it would be a first time offense, right? Well, you should know that there have been first time offenders who have been fined up to $250,000 and up to five years in jail for violating music copyright law. It is so much easier to go out and pay 20 bucks for a CD. <br /><br /> Whether you are uploading music or downloading music, educate yourself on music copyright law. No one wants to ruin their financial future and face jail time. Enjoy music, just do it the right way! <bio>Brian Scott is a freelance journalist who covers copyright law for <a href="http://www.ResearchCopyright.com" >http://www.ResearchCopyright.com</a>. </bio>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[As old-earth creationists, what should our relationship be with the young-earth creationist? Can we get along together, in the same churches, without arguing? <br /><br /> As you can imagine, a lot of the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/email" rel="tag">email</a> that Answers In Creation receives is from the young-<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/earth+person" rel="tag">earth person</a> who takes issue with our position. They range from sincere to hostile; some "agreeing to disagree," others flat out demanding that we delete the website. What should be the old-earth response to these demands? <br /><br /> Despite such negative reactions from young earth creationists, it is not only possible...it is imperative that we get along. We should be able to sit right beside each other in church and worship God together. We should "agree to disagree," and have healthy discussions about our Creator. <br /><br /> The First Step <br /><br /> Our starting point for both old and young earth believers should always be one of humility and charity. The first step should always be prayer. Not only do I pray for the continued success of young-<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/earth+ministries" rel="tag">earth ministries</a>, but I urge all my fellow old-earth believers to do the same. I don't pray that people convert from young-earth belief to old-earth belief...that is not the purpose of Answers In Creation. Why? Because of my next section below (Fundamental Doctrines). <br /><br /> What do I pray for? When I pray, I pray that non-Christians would get the message that the young-earth ministries cannot preach... that it's OK to be a Christian and believe in an old earth, with or without evolution... with or without a "<a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/gap" rel="tag">Gap</a>" between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/fortunately" rel="tag">Fortunately</a> these prayers are answered. In February 2006, over 12,000 people visited <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/aic" rel="tag">AIC</a>. Over 500 of these visitors read the page describing old earth belief, claiming it is possible to be a Christian and believe in an old earth. Over 280 people read our Salvation page. The message is getting out there to the people that have been alienated by the "young-earth only" message that many churches <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/proclaim" rel="tag">proclaim</a>. <br /><br /> Fundamental Doctrines <br /><br /> Second, as long as the fundamentals of the faith are not changed, we should be at liberty to disagree, but with an air of civility. <br /><br /> Answers in Creation has taken this a step further, not only claiming that it is OK to believe in an old earth, but also claiming that it is OK to believe in a young earth. Why? Because when it comes to the fundamental doctrines (see footnote), especially salvation, there is no impact. We have taken this position because in the long run, we all get to heaven, so it doesn't matter if you believe in young or old. There is no point in trying to convert a young-earth believer to old-earth belief (of course, there's nothing wrong in having "healthy discussions" with people of the opposing viewpoint). Our main message is that of salvation in Jesus Christ, not salvation in the creation. <br /><br /> Why Answers In Creation? <br /><br /> If that's the case, then you may ask why Answers In Creation even exists. It exists to provide outreach to the many people who are convinced that the earth is old. For years, they have been told by young-earth creationists that they are wrong, and thus have been alienated from the church. In providing this website, we are saying to them, "You are right, the earth is old...here's the answers to the claims of young-earth creationists, which directly attack your old-earth belief." <br /><br /> We cater to all old-earth beliefs, from progressive creationism, to the gap theory, to theistic evolution. An attack upon the validity of the Big Bang theory by young-earth ministries, is an attack upon progressive creationists. An attack upon the validity of evolution by young-earth ministries, is an attack upon old-earth theistic evolutionists. The young-earth claim that dinosaurs only lived 6,000 years ago, is an attack upon all old-earth creationists. All these attacks against the old-earth position need to be met head-on. Although Answers in Creation is mainly a progressive creationist website, we uphold the old-earth believer's right to believe in any theory they choose. <br /><br /> We do not seek to destroy young-earth belief, but rather to provide a fair and balanced look at the issues. In doing so, many have claimed that this "mud-slinging" is unnecessary and divides the body of Christ. This depends on your attitude. As a creationist, it is your choice how you respond to opposing viewpoints. If you correctly recognize that both forms of creationist belief are acceptable, and the Bible can correctly be interpreted to support either viewpoint, then this is not mud-slinging, but healthy discussion. On the other hand, if a person is close-minded, and refuses to recognize old-earth belief as a viable alternative to young-earth belief, then they would view this as mud-slinging. It's your choice, based on your attitude. <br /><br /> As an old-earth creationist, I prefer to view the negative articles on young-earth ministries, such as Answers In Genesis, the Institute for Creation Research, and Creation Science Evangelism, as "healthy discussion", rather than mud-slinging. I could easily call their articles mud-slinging, but choose not to. It's all about attitude, and how you choose to view it. Make it positive...whether you are old or young earth. <br /><br /> Conclusion <br /><br /> We at Answers In Creation say it's OK to be a fully-energized Christian, no matter whether you believe in an old or young earth. In the same spirit of openness that Answers In Creation embodies, I encourage the young-earth ministries to make similar statements, saying that old-earth belief is acceptable for Christians, and to stop condemning old earth creationists as compromisers. <br /><br /> Footnote: Unfortunately, many fundamentalist churches have added "creation" as a doctrine. Historically speaking, when you examine doctrines before the 20th century, creation was not considered a doctrine. In fact, most church denominations today do not have creation as a doctrine (for more, see the Denomination list at <a href="<a href="http://www.answersincreation.org">http://www.answersincreation.org</a>/denomination.htm"><a href="http://www.answersincreation.org">http://www.answersincreation.org</a>/denomination.htm</a>). For some reason, the leaders of the young-earth movement have "created" the additional Doctrine of Creation for their followers. Just like God's creation, which was "Exhilo" or "out of nothing," they have created this doctrine out of nothing. <bio>This article comes from the Answers In Creation website (<a href="http://www.answersincreation.org">http://www.answersincreation.org</a>). <content:encoded><![CDATA[Earth 4 Energy allows homeowners to take the first step in breaking free of dependence on overpriced natural gas and electricity. The eBook comes in a step-by-step, easy to read guide so that even the most novice homeowners will have no trouble in their energy <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/generation+efforts" rel="tag">generation efforts</a>. We all should be using the earth as our energy source because it is one of the best ways to save on energy. Unfortunately, most of us are unaware of the potential that our earth holds. This is sad because it is now easy to take advantage of the earth for its power.<br><br>Earth 4 Energy not only shows you how to harness the power of solar energy, it also instructs homeowners on how to harness other renewable energies. One important fact to note is that Earth 4 Energy is only available online through a pdf format; you cannot go to your local <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/brick+and+mortar" rel="tag">brick and mortar</a> bookstore to purchase this guide.<br><br>Within a few hours, any home in the world can begin to run on free solar power. The guide shows through simple English (no <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/technical+jargon" rel="tag">technical jargon</a>) and <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/descriptive+diagrams" rel="tag">descriptive diagrams</a> on how to harness the <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/power+of+the+sun" rel="tag">power of the sun</a> using materials from your local hardware store. The creator of the guide has created countless solar panels for under $200 a piece. Using the power he has saved on his home's electricity and heating bills, the panels have already paid for themselves within a few short months of use.<br><br>Depending on how ambitious of an <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/energy+saver" rel="tag">energy saver</a> you are, it is possible to have virtually all your home's power generated from just the solar panels you learned about in Earth 4 Energy. You can also take these portable panels with you on camping trips so that you and your family can enjoy the basic amenities made available by electricity. In case of an emergency, the electricity provided by the panels can be used to power cell phones and radios.<br><br>Not only does Swerd, the creator of Earth 4 Energy, show how you can benefit from the power of the sun, he also allows energy connoisseurs to exploit wind power. Much like that of the solar panels, homemade windmills can be made from basic hardware store products. However, unlike solar panels, these windmills can be created for less than a measly $100 using Swerd's construction methods. With your home running on both solar and wind power, your energy independence and monetary savings will being to skyrocket. You will no longer go to sleep worrying how expensive the price of natural gas or electricity will be in just a few short months.<br><br>This do it yourself green energy guide shows every step of the process of making renewable power sources and it puts it into one booklet. You can be sure that the process of using the earth for power will be both quick and easy. In not more than two days time you can be saving money from creating your own source of wind or solar power. The possibilities are limitless when it comes to our earth as a energy source.<br><br>Claim your energy independence and refuse to consume overpriced gas and electricity from today's conglomerates. Allow Earth 4 Energy to assist you in breaking away from the stranglehold that the world's governments and economies have put on the price of this modern necessity.<bio>Find the best information on <a href="http://www.microniches.org/category/environment/">green energy</a>. <content:encoded><![CDATA[ Framing an <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/oil+painting" rel="tag">oil painting</a> is not cheep, but it's definitely worth it as sometimes frames are a great compliment to a painting. <br /><br /> But how can you tell a good <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/framer" rel="tag">framer</a> from a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/mediocre" rel="tag">mediocre</a> one? <br /><br /> First, if you can get a referral that would be best. If not, and you are walking into a frame shop trying to decide if to invest your precious artwork in the hands of this artesian, observe the neatness of the framed paintings hanging on the walls. Is that something that you would fancy? Does it look like it was well done? Particularly, observe how carefully the matting has been cut. Other things to pay close attention to are the range of <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/matting+and+framing" rel="tag">matting and framing</a> options available and how long will the framing process take. <br /><br /> Below are the steps involved in choosing a frame for a painting. <br /><br /> Step 1: Framing <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/composition" rel="tag">Composition</a> <br /><br /> it is common to have 'excess' canvas on the edges that you wish trimmed off or concealed. The framer will then discuss with you where would you like to crop the painting. Once you've determined that, the framer will then pencil mark the painting to show the four corners where the frame will go. <br /><br /> First, see what your framer suggests as far as composition, a good framer will have a sense for that, then, decide if you like it. If not, say so, remember, it's your painting and it's ultimately your decision. <br /><br /> Step 2: Matting <br /><br /> A matt is a piece of colored cardboard that is placed around the painting. Note that a painting doesn't have to have matting; the frame can touch the edge of the painting. But a mount can really 'finish off' a painting and brighten the colors in it. A painting can even have more than one matt. <br /><br /> The framer should have a range of sample matting corners in an array of colors. Most framers have a <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/display+board" rel="tag">display board</a> on which they clip your painting/matting/frame. You should be able to step away from the display board to see what the composition will look like from a distance. <br /><br /> Step 3: The Frame <br /><br /> The framer will have a range of sample corners for frames. This will be clipped to your painting along with the matting so you can see what the final composition will be. It can be a bit hard to make out from one corner, what the frame and matting combination will look like. Use your hands to block out most of the painting so you see only the corner with the proposed frame and matt to help you focus. <br /><br /> Step 4: Glass <br /><br /> Glass in a frame is essential for pastels, drawings, and watercolors, but not necessary for oil paintings and paintings that are varnished. You should be given the option between reflective and matt glass. Matt glass is less reflective but does absorb some of the color of the painting. Ask the framer to show you some samples so you can see what the differences are. <br /><br /> Step 5: Get a Quote <br /><br /> The framer may work out the quote on the spot, or give you a call later. The cost will depend on the size of the painting, the number of mats used, the thickness and ornate level of the frame chosen, and whether or not you choose to place glass against it. <br /><br /> Step 6: Collect your new Framed Painting <br /><br /> Prior to paying the framer, check your newly framed masterpiece with great detail. Has the matting been cut neatly? Is it placed right where you wanted it? Is the matting flat? Is the frame neatly cut and jointed? If you're unhappy, get it sorted out before you pay for it. If it's been framed to your liking (you should be aw-stroke=85 I usually am=85), take the time to compliment the framer for a job well done; everyone loves compliments. <bio>Breiana Cecil-Satchwell, a prominent Interior Designer in Indianapolis, holds a Bachelors Degree in Interior Design and Studio Art from Ball State.
