One of the most basic characteristics about humanity is our ability to communicate with each other in such a variety of meaningful ways. Because communication is vital for any relationship, job, or thing of importance in life, there can be few things as important as taking time to develop effective communication skills.

Without proper communication skills a person's life will never reach full potential. I'm convinced that our communication skills are one of the keys to any successful or fulfilling life. Can you, for example, imagine having the same depth of friendships that you enjoy now without having communication skills? Of course not. We are only able to enjoy deep and satisfying relationships with other humans when we can communicate with each other well. Every single friendship in my life is made richer because of our abilities to use our communication skills. There is nothing more special than being able to pour out your heart to a friend while being confident that they will understand and be able to respond appropriately.

We all know that work is an undeniable part of life. We must work if we want to have a safe place to life, food to eat, and the means to have fun. Can you imagine getting a good job without having taken the time to develop communication skills? No way! You would be crazy to walk into a job interview without the ability to successfully communicate with your potential employer.

Taking time to develop communication skills is much broader than it might seem at first. You see, communication skills include much more than the ability to speak and understand a verbal language. Communication skills also include the ability to write and interpret writing. Being able to use and interpret body language is also an important part of having healthy communication skills because we all know that communicating with people includes much more than the words they say.

Think about the different communication skills that help people become successful and productive adults. Then take time to think about your own abilities in each of these skills. Have you mastered all of the important communication skills or are there areas that could use improvement? If there are, you must prioritize spending time and energy developing the missing skills. I guarentee that you will see improvements in your friendships, in future jobs, and in your ability to live each day well if you spend time improving your communication skills. They are, after all, necessary for life. <bio>Author Rachael Cleipher knows the importance of communication skills more than most people.
There are many situations in which a person may need to make long distance calls. The most common is when one wants to communicate with loved ones who have moved out of the state or even out of the country. The other situation is when a person wants to make long distance calls for their business or line of employment. However, regardless of what leads people to need long distance, if they make these calls through a traditional telephone service, they risk getting a very high bill at the end of the month. And if the calls are done internationally, it is not impossible to have a bill that is in the thousands. Cell phones are not much better either. In fact, their costs can be worse, since most plans do not allow for as many minutes during the day. The only exception is if calls are made between cell phones, which can be free if both phones are using the same company. But if a person is calling in an area that has bad reception, even this cannot be relied on. So what does a person do if they want to make affordable long distance calls? The answer involves getting a VoIP service.

VoIP, (which stands for Voice over Internet Protocol), is a revolutionary technology that allows for voice communication through the Internet. It can be expressed in the following ways: computer-to-computer, computer-to-phone, or VoIP phone to a computer, another VoIP phone or a regular phone. VoIP is usually free if it's computer-to-computer, but the other combinations typically involve payment. In terms of how VoIP works, basically a person logs in the VoIP service and enters the number they want to call either from their computer or through their VoIP phone. Voice communication then proceeds. If the computer is being used, voice is recorded by a microphone. If a VoIP phone is used, communication is expressed through that, working in a manner no different than a land line.

In terms of long distance calls, it is possible to get them 100 percent free if the person uses the right VoIP service and/or combination. For example, it has already been noted computer-to-computer VoIP communication is free. This is both national and international communication with both types being done through Instant Messengers such as Yahoo, AOL or MSN. But it is also possible to get free calls through a free VoIP service such as http://InternetCalls.com. Yet, there is a downside to using a service like this, and it's in the area of quality. Free VoIP services tend to not have as clear a sound as paid ones, since they tend to have a very static-filled background. So, if this is an issue it's best to get a paid service like http://Skype.com, which allows for unlimited long distance calls for a nominal annual fee.

In conclusion, with VoIP a person no longer has to be shocked at the price of their land line telephone bill or even their cell phone bill. Granted, VoIP is not good enough to completely replace one's telephone service, but it is an excellent alternative when one needs to be able to unlimited long distance calls. <bio>Brama Telecom, Internet Phone Service (http://bramatelecom.com/home.php) - Offers Unlimited Long Distance Calling (http://bramatelecom.com/unlimited_long_distance.php) and Long Distance Phone Service (http://bramatelecom.com/home.php) </bio>

The fact that the Internet opened up a whole new world of communication options has not been lost on those providing telephone service - or on those who spend lots of money on voice communication. The ever-changing technology and emerging market for more cost-effective and better communication is creating a demand for people who can create, design and install VoIP systems. There's also a growing market for those who can repair and maintain those systems.

So what's so great about VoIP and Internet telephone systems? Cost is probably one of the biggest benefits touted by the companies providing the services and one of the biggest reasons so many people are ready to try the market. With VoIP and Internet telephone options, there's no cost for long-distance calls - even to foreign countries which is typically very expensive for those companies that make those kinds of calls. Think it's impossible that someone would offer unlimited long-distance for nothing? You actually already have that option already in the form of email and chat. All you need is a microphone for instant voice communication in a chat room, and that form of communication is free with your paid Internet connection.

VoIP and Internet telephone systems just take that to the next level through a voice communication system that allows faster and clearer streaming than through a traditional Internet computer connection.

So if it's so great, why isn't everyone using VoIP and Internet telephone service? There are some drawbacks. The first and most important is availability. Though this is improving, you may not be able to connect to your VoIP or Internet telephone connection from just anywhere you happen to be. For busy company officials and even individuals, this is a serious lack that makes the system less attractive.

Another drawback comes in the form of emergency calls. According to some sources, the VoIP systems are seriously inadequate in emergency situations. Because of limited availability of services, it's very possible that users may not have the ability to make calls at all. Even if calls are possible, the systems are sometimes not sending signals to the nearest towers, meaning you may not be contacting the most local emergency response teams. It's also sometimes difficult for those emergency personnel to target your location. All these problems will likely be dealt with over time, but they're still concerns to some people now who rely on cell phones for emergencies and are reluctant to take the chance that their VoIP or Internet telephones will work in emergency situations.

The legalities almost always become an issue and VoIP is no exception. Because this type of communication has the potential to have a major impact on the communication industry, there's little doubt that it'll eventually be regulated as telephone companies are regulated. This is of significant concern to those municipalities that provide telephone service and depend on the revenue from that service as income. <bio>This article may be reproduced only in its entirety.
The citizens' band radio (CB) is a communication system used for short-distance communication in selected channels within a single band, usually 27MHz. This system is, more or less, a personal communication system and does not require any license to operate. It's very popular in the United States.

CB radio systems operate in MHz between HF and UHF bands. The signals at different frequencies behave differently and thus affect the performance of the equipment. Initially, CB radios operated in the 460 to 470 MHz band. In 1958, a type of CB radio known as Class D was permitted to be used in the 27MHz band. A government band used primarily by the forest department and military, this band had a secondary band that allowed amateur radio services which later became the popular CB. With the advent of Internet and mobile communication, CB has lost some of its appeal, but many people continue to use it to communicate and as a hobby. It is still widely used by truck drivers for truck-to-truck communication. It's also used by among hunters and farmers in remote areas where telephone landlines and cell phone towers are uncommon. People who go out in groups for camping, hiking or other outdoor activities also use this technology.

The first CB radios were of two types, A and B. Class B required less technical and less expensive equipment, but its range was smaller. As technology increased, another model, Class D, was developed using the 27 MHz band. Class D became the standard for CB radios, inexpensive and widely available. The category of 460MHz to 470 MHz band was later allocated to public safety and business purposes. The latest CB class is the general mobile radio service, which is used between friends for personal communication. This system utilizes the VHF band for two-way communication.

Uses of the CB radio

Radio activity depends on whether the transmission mode is AM or SSB. The AM mode allows communications up to a distance of approximately nine miles , depending on the quality of the antenna, interference level and terrain. SSB allows communications up to 18 miles. <bio>http://www.information-finers.com http://www.auto-tips-tools.com </bio>

Business means communication. Communication with your clients, your suppliers, your bankers and, most importantly with your own employees and colleagues who are more often than not out of the office sealing business deals or fulfilling business commitments hundreds of miles away from the corporate headquarters.

All this means continuous communication involving follow up with all the constituents of the business environment =96 both internal and external.

This also means a substantial amount of your hard earned revenue going to the telecom provider of the long distance communication service. So, the amount spent in commercial long distance communication needs to be very carefully monitored and evaluated to ensure that every dollar is utilized in the most efficient manner.

In order to achieve the maximum efficiency for the dollars spent on communication, certain well planned steps should be taken.

First go through the last six months' billing details to find out how many minutes on an average have you spent on making long distance calls. The last six months should be a fair measure of your monthly long distance telephony. This is a long enough period to take of any seasonal fluctuations your business may experience during the course of a financial year.

The next step would be to break up this amount in the areas or zones you have most frequently called up. This is obviously known to you, because area-wise communication is generally directly proportional to the geographical concentration of the business. This analysis would also help you to confirm no disproportionate use of your telephone line is taking place.

Then get down to find out the average length of a telephone call made during this period.

So, now you have three sets of data. They are: the total minutes of long distance telephone usage, zone-wise concentration of calls made, the average duration of a phone call.

Then try to project the future requirement of long distance telephony in your business. In doing this projection you take into account not only your present client base and the expected increase in business volume with them, but also expected increase in your client base and the possibility of venturing into new zones. Always provide at least a 10% cushion in all your projections.

You may want to look beyond traditional telecommunication channels and consider a voice T1 service as an alternative. This is a digital service which makes use of channels to strike voice connections as and when required. This service has the facility of using eleven such channels simultaneously, which when translated in layman's language means that you can hold a long distance conference with eleven persons simultaneously! But this service requires complex infrastructure and small or medium sized commercial entities may not find it economical.

Whatever may be the size of your firm or business please remember that the competition between the long distance communication service providers has now become so fierce that they are willing to go to any length to woo their clients. So, be ruthless while negotiating with them and don't get carried away by tall promises and smooth salesmanship. <bio>Article written by Van Theodorou, who will give you a free telecom audit and analysis on your phone bill so you do not have to spend the time figuring out the best plan for your business.
An online business is virtually the same as it is for offline business:

* Be polite both to customers and fellow workers. * Always show respect * Always listen/read intently * Go out of your way to help fill all customers' needs * Never mislead or suit one's own business interests * In conflict be willing to negotiate

These are no-brainers, unfortunately, many of those involved in business (both business owners and customers) do not always follow them. This is either because they do not know, misinterpret or simple do not care. However, despite desperation or personal gain, using appropriate behavior will always give better service and will always have a better reception. Therefore, it is important to keep these things in mind. This is even more important when using online communication.

Communication is the most important and critical form of business etiquette. If you do not have good communication you run the risk of having many problems. There are significant practices one uses in communication, as you identify the person you are interacting with you will use the five question words =96when, where, what, who and finally how to determine what you need to do.

With the question words you should always be polite. Here is a rule that is universal and absolute (probably one of the few `absolutes' in the business or any other type of social interaction). Being polite positions you as caring about service. You will also look more professional, to the other person involved in the transaction. It is said that politeness is the true sign of a civilized mind. Thus, others feel comfortable and even have their interest drawn into the venture and maintains' it throughout the duration of the transaction. Politeness reflects respect for that other person. Without a doubt, politeness and respect are important and non-disputable necessities for good communication. These are virtual laws that should be obeyed by everyone at all times!

Another aspect of online communication is promptness. Quick and forthright recognition shows a respect for the other person's time. Yes, busy schedules sometimes make it difficult to get back to others right away. This is why you need proper pacing for yourself in public relations of all kinds. Whether you are involved with shoppers, potential clients who would provide sponsorship, colleagues, executive personnel or those in the legal field, everyone deserves timely responses. The acceptable amount of time in which to reply to anyone is three business days.

One exception is the no-reply. A good example would be in the context of when one applies for a job. Many people dislike it, but employers quite frequently do not respond when they are not interested in hiring an applicant. However, job seekers, are encouraged to send out follow ups within two weeks to thirty days to show ongoing interest. If an applicant still doesn't receive a response from an employer, therefore no more follow up is needed.

In the end, the best online or offline communication is critical for all to know and practice. Your communication could mean the difference between success or failure. <bio>Lorraine Hansen is owner of http://WellnessGreat.com and writes on a variety of subjects.
T1 connections are basically high speed data and voice connections. When you subscribe for a T1 connection the service provider lays optic fiber cables at your premises and you get a dedicated connection to the server of the internet service provider.

A conventional telephone line converts the voice of the speaker into analog signals which are transported through copper wires and get reconverted into sound at the receiver's end. This has been the only mode of voice communication through the years and by itself is still a reasonably efficient means of communication.

But with globalization and liberalization being the driving force of most of the economies of the world and with phenomenally improved transportation facilities, business has become a multinational phenomenon and physical distances are no longer an insurmountable barrier.

With the spread of the business being far and wide, the need for rapid, uninterrupted and noise free communication has become the order of the day. The volume of communication has increased manifold and so is the need for a hyper efficient and reliable medium through which such communication can be done.

T1 service is another way making your voice communication more reliable and hassle free. The digital circuitry uses channels to carry voice and data. The capacity of such channels is far more than the conventional phone lines. In one such channel twenty four separate calls can be made! That is to say, if you take one T1 connection, you are actually taking twenty four telephone lines.

Instead of converting your voice in to analog signals, it is converted into digital signals and then transmitted over optic fiber cables. This lends extreme clarity to the spoken words =96 the receiver can hear exactly what is spoken without the accompanying noise or hum which is common in conventional phone lines.

Since the optic fiber cables carry any sort of digitized data, a T1 connection can be used for both the purposes. So, popularly T1 connections are referred to either as voice T1 or data T1.

The beauty of T1 lies in its flexibility. In conventional phones, lines are assigned to users. But in this sort of voice communication it is not so. Suppose you are in desperate need of some business discussion on the phone. You find that your boss's phone is free but you can't go in his cabin and use that instrument since he is busy in a meeting. What do you do? Well, twiddle your thumbs and perspire in anxiety!

But if your office has a T1 connection, you can call from any phone within the office and if at least one channel is free at that point of time; you would be able to communicate.

This flexibility allows maximum and most efficient utilization of a T1 service. To put matters in perspective, a twenty four channel T1 connection can serve at least one hundred members of an office without difficulty. Since this connection can utilized in a much better way, it is advisable to give this option a serious thought. <bio>Van Theodorou will help you slash your telecom expenses over 43%.
Good skills in communication are essential not just in business, but also in everyday life. To be an effective communicator, you must have real communication skills. These skills need to be honed, developed, and practiced on a continuous basis. These compose the center of interpersonal skills. The greater the awareness concerning these skills, the more effective you will become in communicating with others.

This is also true in the business world where communication bridges everyone and everything together. No business venture will ever take off if good communication is not present.

There are many factors to consider in improving your communication skills. Communication in itself is a dynamic interaction between two or more people; and this makes it a little bit complicated. It's not all about transcending yourself with others, but it's an amalgamation of different people who come together as one. The challenge is to understand what others are saying to be able to make them understand what you are saying to them. Below are some factors that should be taken into mind when training yourself to improve on your communication skills:

Communication depends on the person

People have different languages when it comes to communicating. Language here is not referred to the usual language like English, French, or Spanish; it refers to the way people think, listen, and express themselves. Everyone communicates in a different fashion that is endemic to each personality or person. The ultimate goal is to be able to understand the point of view of others and how they look at the world, and be able to make adjustments to understand them and communicate with them better.

Understand to influence

Forcing your view on others is not a very advisable thing to do. Although it may seem that people accept these views, they are only doing so because of coercion. Coercion would lead to heat up the volcanoes inside others. This can lead to unhealthy relationships in the future. Forcing is not the way to go, understanding is. Understanding other people will give you a certain perspective about how they see the world and let them see the options that you can use to be able to get their attention. What happens is that you get into the language that is used by other people and use this language to get across a certain message.

Ways to communicate

Communication can be classified as verbal and non-verbal. It is said that words account for only 10% of the whole communication process and much of it is done by means of non-verbal communication. For example, job interviewers don't really listen to what you are saying as much as they pay attention to how you move while you are being interviewed. Talk is cheap and the language of the body is much more powerful sometimes.

It's all about awareness

Communication is all about awareness - awareness of who you are talking to, what you are thinking, what you would want to think, and everything else. Communication is a bridge between two entities and it is the only thing that makes us who we are amidst others.

Communication is a very important part of our lives. It is a defining feature of human beings and people should know how to effectively communicate with others. <bio>A lot of people don't often mean what they say.
The Basics of Motorola Two Way Radios

Motorola two way radios work almost like a cellular telephone in that they are used as a method of communication between people in different locations but there are a few major differences between the two way radio communication and telephone communication. The most noticeable difference between two way radio and telephone communication is that to the people talking on two way radios have to take turns talking -- this is called the 'half-duplex' mode of operation (telephone conversations, where people can be talking at the same time, uses what is called full-duplex mode).

There are two frequency bands in use for two way radios these are the Family Radio Service (FRS) band and the General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) band. The FRS band is specifically used for short-range communication between two way radios -- short range is defined as 2 miles or less. The GMRS band is used for two way radios uses that require longer range operation, where the users may be up to eight miles from each other.

Some two way radios are only able to use the FRS band but almost all Motorola two way radios in commercial use are able to take advantage of both the FRS and GMRS bands.

One important note about GMRS operation: The FCC regulates two way radios that operate on the GMRS band and requires users of this type of radio to obtain a license and pay a fee. The GMRS license is good for five years and costs $80.00; the license must be obtained by an adult (the radios operating under the license may be used by minors but only with the licensed adult's knowledge and permission). Go to the FCC's Internet page at: http://wireless.fcc.gov/services/index.htm?job=service_homeandid=general_mobile for more information on GMRS licensing.

Channels! There are 22 channels commonly used on two way radios: Channels 1 through 7 can be used by all two way radios whether they are using the FRS range or the GMRS range; channels 8 through 14 are reserved for used by radios using the FRS band and channels 15 through 22 are reserved for use by radios using the GMRS band. How this works in practical terms is pretty simple; basically, all the two way radios within eight miles of each other that are set to the same channel will be able to communicate with each other. The catch is, everyone with a radio receiver set to that channel's frequency will also be able to hear whatever is said -- so be careful about what you say. To combat that problem, most Motorola two way radios are also equipped with "privacy codes." These privacy codes will break up a single channel into many sub-channels which gives the radio users much more privacy. <bio>http://twowayradioshq.com Find out more about Two Way Radios. </bio>

I had an opportunity recently to attend a convention of hackers and crackers. Yes they do get together and share secrets.

I wanted to get a first hand pulse on privacy and security on the web. I think it can pretty much be summed up by this comment from one of the hackers I ran into: "I can read anything you send in your email."

Well my email is pretty boring, and yes, I know you can read my email, even my own government can read my email, that's why I decided to figure out how to protect my own privacy. I want to share my results with you.

At the convention, I started asking the question "How can I communicate with my business partners in a private environment?" My partners and I share many items in a given day and some of them are critical to our success. We need a way to talk to each other in a secure environment.

The answer was straightforward: "Use an encrypted email program."

Yes, but I don't want to invest in any more software. I like my current email program. I'm a fan of Google's Gmail service. Encrypted email programs are just band-aids. What if I'm on the road? What if I need to communicate with a business partner right now?

On the way home, I decided that email was not a safe communication method if one wanted to protect certain business ideas and concepts. Sending a letter would be pretty safe, but very slow. Instant messaging would work, but alas, instant messaging is more vulnerable to outside attack that email. I wanted a full proof, private communication method, in real-time.

And don't tell me to pickup the phone. That's the most tapped system we have!

A Google search turned up nothing. That's when I decided to invent my own service exclusively for my business partners.

This is what we came up with: a 128-bit encrypted, real-time messaging service that doesn't use port-to-port communication like instant messaging. Our private service looks and feels like instant messaging but it stays completely away from the engineering design that makes instant messaging so vulnerable to attack.

Furthermore, our private service destroys all messages once the parties leave the site. Thus, no trace that anybody was there.

Why 128-bit encryption? Well, the only thing you really need to know is security experts agree, there isn't enough energy left in the sun to power all the computers needed to decrypt a 128-bit encrypted message.

After using our private service for a few months, we all decided that it would be acceptable to open the service to other businesses and individuals. So now, Private Business Chat is available to the public.

There are many reasons why a person would want to use real-time encrypted chat: legal matters, business concepts, personal matters. These days, you just don't know who is monitoring your phone, mail, email, or conversations. Why take the chance?

I realize the United States has bona fide reasons to be a surveillance nation, but I have my reasons to protect my business ideas and communication with my partners. I think Private Business Chat is a nice compromise. <bio>John Hart is a founder of Private Business Chat at http://www.PrivateBusinessChat.com. </bio>

Christian online dating allows a number of people to have access to a database of Christian singles all over the world. Christian online dating service is intended to help men and women meet other singles in a comfortable online environment. Christian online dating service personals community is a source for creating relationships ranging from companionship to friendship, romance to marriage.

Christian online dating service is established to help people build successful, long-lasting relationships. Christian online dating service aims to help millions of people find the right partner for life-long love and happiness. Some Christian online dating service even provides features such as searches for bible study and prayer partners across the world, depending on which online Christian dating service you accessed.

For those who want to be part of Christian online dating, the following suggestions are given:

1. Post a Better Photo - Take a look at the photos you have posted. Make sure that the photo you posted in Christian online dating sites depicts your best self. With the aid digital and disposable cameras it has become quick, easy, and cheap to take a flattering photo.

2. Make Your Match Profile Answers Fascinating - Your profile in Christian online dating is an opportunity to express yourself and stand out. Make sure that you are being authentic and interesting. After all, this is the page where your matches will be deciding whether they want to get to know you.

3. Close Any Old Matches Who Aren't Communicating - If you have any open matches in Christian online dating who have fallen silent, it is good to officially close communication with them. Not only does it clear your screen and help you prepare for new Christian online dating matches, it also provides a wake-up call to the other person that they are falling behind. Always use the closing reason "Because you didn't respond to my communication."

4. Revisit Your Match Settings - Many people set their Match Settings when they join and forget about them. As their life changes and their needs change, they don't take the time to reflect these changes in their Match Settings. For example, many people decide after spending some time on that they would feel comfortable opening up their geographic range a bit. They learn about how our communication system helps them focus on a few people who they are really interested in meeting. So they feel comfortable taking matches from across the country. So they should make necessary changes on their Christian online dating match settings. <bio>Become a master at the art of seduction with the tips found at http://www.bettersexguru.com..
Language is central to everything in neuro linguistic programming. What you say and how you say it can change the way you relate to others. If there are people who you meet with at work or socially that you find difficult to get on with then you can use the techniques of NLP to get through these obstacles.

According to NLP the most important part of communication is to take responsibility for your own communication. You must make sure that you say clearly what you mean. You can then check that the words have been understood by the listener in the way you meant. It is by the same token important to be sure that you have understood what is being said to you

When you have problems with people in your communication NLP can structure things so that you can get your message over better and be a better manager too. One thing you need to consider early on is that you might be the problem rather than the other person. Neuro linguistic programming can show you where you have wrong thinking and beliefs about your own self. It can give you clear strategies to change the thinking in your brain and the words that you say.

You need to understand that the other person and build up a rapport with them. Do not make assumptions about them that you cannot validate. You need to establish an initial way of relating to each other. You will then be able to see what the other person's standpoint is and how they think. You can then look at building on this rapport with clear and decisive communication -- and this works both ways.

Practice makes perfect and you need to use NLP review techniques to get better over time at communication. You will find that some methods work very well for you and others will simply not fit in with your character and style. The important thing is not to get so lost in all the NLP details that you forget to communicate.

Understanding where others are coming from

You need to acknowledge the worlds people come from. They will have different education, upbringing and cultural backgrounds. They will also have grown up in different environments. So it is no wonder that you need to work at your communication. You also have your own background that comes with all its own idiosyncrasies.

NLP uses tools and patterns of language to help you get through all the differences and misunderstandings. When you communicate you are not only speaking and hearing words. You use all your senses to give and hear what you are saying. So you have visual information as well as auditory input to take in. You can use NLP to do a better job of filtering the mixture of messages. Now you can also model your own speech and output on people who have better communication skills. You can use borrowed techniques to improve your own communication.<bio>John Taylor is a Master NLP Practitioner, he writes extensively on the topic of Neuro Linguistic Programming on his "Talk About NLP" blog and in his "NLP in 30 Days</bio>

CB radio was promoted for short range communication, whether for business or personal use. In 1958, Class D CB radio service at 27 MHz began, including a band for public use. Requests from truck drivers and others for a cheaper mode of communication led the government to allot 18 channels for CB radio communication. During the 1960's, CB radio service was popular among indicate trade people, such as plumbers and electricians, and transportation services, like taxis and truckers.

The popularity of CB radios during 1970's was mainly due to films, television shows and popular songs. Public service codes that were initially used by police and fire services were allowed to be used for short acknowledgement services. The codes were often used in shortened form, and gradually slang terms developed. The advancement of technology also increased the popularity of CB radio services. The equipment became cheaper and smaller. This gave regular people access to technology that was previously available only to experts. These CB radios were mostly plug-in quartz crystal-controlled and AM only.

CB Radio Service in the United States

In the United States, there were initially 23 CB radio services. During the 1960's, channels were categorized by intra-station and inter-station communications. In the 1970's, channel 9 was designated for use only for emergency purposes. Channel 10 was promoted for use in highway communications, while for general purposes, channel 11 was used. Later, channel 19 was switched to highway communications use.

>From the beginning, CB radio services didn't require licensing, but the use of a call sign was required. Soon, people ignored these basics and started using nicknames, or "handles," as they are popularly known. These handles were primarily used by truck drivers to send road condition or traffic warnings to other truck drivers. There were still many restrictions on antenna size and the distance the signal could be sent, but gradually the call sign regulation was dropped.

In 1973, several groups in the United States campaigned for allocation of frequencies near 220MHz for Class E band services. Although initially opposed, the government sponsored the Multi-use Radio Service in the 1980's, Family Radio Service, and General Mobile Radio Service.

CB Radio Service in Australia and Britain

CB radio service was a world-wide phenomenon during the 1970's and 1980's. In Great Britain, CB radio service was finally legalized in 1981. In Australia, CB radio services began in the 1960's when American walkie-talkies became available at selected outlets. The 27 MHz was intended to be temporary, with the users required to move to the UHF band within five years, but due to its popularity the Australian government included all the 40 channels in the band.

At present, CB radios have lost many users due to the presence of mobile communication services and the popularity of the Internet, but it remains widely used on American highways and, most likely, always will. <bio>http://www.information-finers.com http://www.auto-tips-tools.com </bio>

When it comes to communication, times have definitely changed. When we were kids, talking to each other meant an occasional phone call, or waiting until we saw each other in school the next day. Now, teens and even younger children have access to so many forms of communication that they are never at a loss to talk to each other. Chatting via instant messenger, email and even cell phone text messages are all commonplace for today's youth -- but what does all of this technology mean for parents? Here are some facts you should know about the way kids talk with each other.

Chances are, you have a computer that's hooked up to the Internet in your home. This means that your children have the ability to talk to their friends via email (electronic mail) or instant messaging programs. If kids want to talk to each other in real time, instant messaging is the way to go -- users just download a simple program (two popular ones are AOL Instant Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger) and they are able to type messages to each other as long as both parties have the program. This form of communication can be great for keeping in touch with friends, but can also invite unwanted strangers to try to talk with your children. It's important to make sure you know what your kids are doing on line at all times.

Another way kids talk to each other without actually speaking is via text message. This form of chatting requires a teen (or even a younger child) to have a cell phone equipped with text messaging software and service. Text messaging services can be bundled with your regular cell phone service, or they can be an additional fee-based service (where you are charged either per text or a flat fee per month). Text messaging offers kids a way to send short messages to each other via the cell phone, but does not require actually speaking on the phone. While this can be good for occasional use, sometimes kids get a bit caught up text messaging and can either run up large bills or disrupt their classes in school. If you are planning to let your child use text messaging on their cell phone, it's important to teach them about proper usage.

Today's youth has many more choices when it comes to staying in touch -- and while this can be a good thing, it may also be disruptive to important aspects of their lives such as school work. As a parent, be sure to make your child aware of proper computer and cell phone usage, and keep yourself informed about your child's activities both on line and in real life. <bio>Visit the Free Text Messaging site: http://www.textyourbuddy.com </bio>

Communication is the key to success. It is the key not only in career but more so in personal life. Many divorces and break-ups could be avoided if both the parties knew how to communicate effectively. What is effective communication? Is it the proper construction of the sentences? Proper selection of words or right framing of the arguments, what is effective communication? To make any communication effective one factor is most important. The recipient of the communication must get the message in a way so that he/she understands what you are saying. If that is not served, the whole exercise will be a mess.

Have you not known of instances when somebody claims that he gave all the information and the other person says that he/she understood something else? Have you not come across couples that complain that they can never reach a happy end in any argument and that always leads to more trouble?

One may be making great efforts to communicate but if the other person fails to get the message the effort will go in waste. That also arouses lot of frustration and anger in the person who was trying to communicate leading to more trouble. How to avoid this? Let me tell you something very simple that will avoid this.

Find out about the other persons style of listening and understanding. There are commonly two types of persons, one- auditory and second- visual. Auditory people talk more and hear the words more. Visuals will think more in terms of visuals. To an auditory person - you should say- this sounds good. To a visual person you should say - it looks good. Note the use of words- sounds and looks. Listen to the other person and find out the words used most often by that person. Are they auditory or visual words? Once you know that, use those words more and you will succeed in sending any communication to success. <bio>The author CD Mohatta writes for <a href="http://www.wishafriend.com" >http://www.wishafriend.com where you can get myspace graphics, comments, layouts, backgrounds, codes, etc. The author also writes quizzes for http://www.funquizcards.com and text for http://www.ecarduniverse.com where you can send free ecards and greetings. </bio>

As the term indicates, it is the way of sending faxes through the internet, without the aid of complex faxing machines. And more importantly, internet faxing is cheap, fast and easy to use. Let us see how it can be a big time and money saver.

The infrastructure one may need so as to use internet faxing is quite simple. A PC, a reliable internet connection, and an email id provided by the service provider. That is, no more dabbling with the complex fax softwares or operational procedures to perform faxing, and that itself saves a lot of your quality time. Further, as one can send or receive fax messages from his/her desktop, there is no need to walk up to where the fax machine is placed and wait for one's turn to get the job done. In fact, waiting in front of a fax machine if you are to receive a particular fax is the most time consuming of the exercises, and that is completely eliminated with web faxing.

On the economic front, the only payment one has to cough up is the monthly fee for the service provider. And that won't exceed $20 a month. Rest of the services is free, and the customer can receive the fax messages in his/her mailbox like any other email. Given the total expense on email faxing, if to consider the average expense per page, it will be as low as 30-35 cents per page, and that is the lowest possible on any counts.

To conclude, online faxing, to a good extent, has effectively bridged the gap between traditional fax machines and web-based communication. It circumvents the complexity of a fax machine and those never-ending paper jams, meanwhile embracing the flexibility, quickness and money saving aspects of internet communication. After all, that's what one expects from technological innovations! <bio>We have tested dozens of internet fax services to find the best one.
An important communication tool that is now found in almost every home and business organization is the telephone. It provides a great deal of handiness in getting things achieved and organized. It is the belief of many a person that the telephone is one of the greatest gadgets ever invented. The telephone is a handy piece of equipment that will help a person stay in contact with near and dear ones at all times.

A much newer and equally powerful communication tool is the Internet. The internet has captivated the minds of millions of people by the things it can help one achieve. It is an important communication platform for people all over the world to stay in touch through means like email, chat and instant messaging. It is also useful in sending out and sharing information between one another.

The Internet has plenty of applications for which it is being constantly accessed everyday by millions of people. While some people use it for researching information about what they want to know, some use it for shopping for some products or a service. Yet others use it for other applications like gaming, downloading videos or listening to music, etc.

Communication is an important application of the internet.

Technological advances have made it possible to use the internet in many ways. An important application of the internet is communication. The advent of technology has affected the sector of communication too. A breakthrough in the field of communication is a new tool called Voice over Internet Protocol or VoIP.

VoIP has created such a wave in the telecommunication sector that many people are just quitting using their traditional telephones and opting to use this new tool which is also know by the term internet voice. So, how has this new technology been able to captivate the minds of so many and made them give up the age-old telephone?

The basic utility of VoIP is the same as our regular telephone i.e. it helps in talking to another person located elsewhere. But, the difference is that VoIP makes use of the internet to send and get back data. The audio signals generated by your voice are converted to digital signals and transmitted to the other end where it is reconverted back to audio analog signals and heard by the receiving person. As the data is sent in digital format the quality of voice is not lost even if the person receiving is at the other end of the world.

As the VoIP system makes use of the internet to make and receive calls, the call rates are much lower in comparison to the regular telephone. With a conventional landline, making long distance calls can be very expensive and cannot be carried on for a long time without being a burden on your pocket. With VoIP, the call rates are much cheaper and affordable in comparison to the regular telephone. Some service providers of VoIP provide calling long distance totally free of cost for its subscribers.

Not only this, VoIP mode of communication comes loaded with some extra features that are generally not available on the regular telephone and if present, might be quite expensive. Some features available with VoIP include caller ID, call waiting, audio and video conferencing, return call, three-way calling, etc as part of its standard package. Depending on the service provider, most of the extra features are provided to the subscribers free of cost.

VoIP service providers will help you in obtaining VoIP system set up in your residence. So, research and find the service provider that is best suited for your needs. There are many service providers who advertise their services online and make claims stating that no one else surpasses their services.

One can never ascertain the true worth of their claims unless one goes and checks out how the service actually is by making use of it.

For this reason, some service providers of VoIP have started providing a trial of their services to know about the quality and their service. If you are not happy for any reason with the particular service provider, all you need to do is notify that you would not want to continue the service. If this notification is sent in the trial phase, the amount you have paid will be refunded back.

Search for a service provider that is providing the greatest facilities and features along with their service. Many service providers are providing freebies like an Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA), IP phones for free or at a lesser cost and such other benefits to woo customers.

Check with your friends and business associates to find a service provider that has already won their trust by providing excellent service. In this manner, you can also get to know the provider who gives maximum benefits and features to its subscribers.

By checking and opting for the best service provider you will ensure that you are at an advantage and will get value worth for what you are paying.<bio>For more information on voip small business solution and fly phone voip, visit http://www.businessvoipcentral.com , the premier portal on high speed voip</bio>

Telephone bills can add up, especially if a person makes a lot of long distance calls. Fortunately, thanks to advancing Internet technology there is an excellent calling alternative when people want to save on long distance. This alternative is called VoIP, (Voice over Internet Protocol). With VoIP voice travels through one's Internet connection rather than the phone line.

VoIP's main advantage lies in its extremely discounted price, if the service even charges anything. Free VoIP setups are typically the case when computer-to-computer communication is used, though there are a few computer-to-phone services available that are also free. In a VoIP arrangement where a price is charged, the fee is nominal, though can vary in payment method. For example, some VoIP services will work like a calling card or a prepaid cell phone. Users buy a certain number of minutes, with the amount being significantly higher than what would normally be available through calling cards or prepaid cell phones. Minutes for international calls might be slightly more expensive, but not much more. Other VoIP payment arrangements involve a person paying a monthly or annual subscription fee. These fees can range from $20 to $200, though the average price is around $25. In a subscription arrangement users get an unlimited number of long distance calls.

So, how does one go about finding a VoIP provider? They can start by investigating the VoIP services offered by their Instant Messenger. This is because most of the major messengers, (including Yahoo, AOL and MSN), will allow for some form of VoIP communication. Yet, if a person is not satisfied with what is available with their messenger, they could do a greater search by making inquires on a search engine. The best keywords to use are "VoIP", "free Internet calls" or "Internet calling." The quotation marks should be included, since they help tell the search engine to look just for these specific phrases. Alternatively, they could do searches on some of the most well-known VoIP services, such as Skype, Vonage and Ooma.

Once a provider has been found, a person will need to set up their computer for VoIP communication. There are two ways this is done. The first way involves using a microphone or headset for communication. The second way involves getting a VoIP telephone. Both methods work the same way when it comes to setup, at least if a person is using USB versions, (which is the most common format for modern-day computer devices). Anyway, with a USB connection, all a person has to do is plug in the device and it is automatically ready for use. Some additional configurations may need to be done within the VoIP service itself, so that the phone or microphone are detected, but this usually isn't hard to do.

In conclusion, if a person is interested in saving money on their phone bill, they should look no further than VoIP communication. The service is cheap and pretty much easy to use and set up.
