It was called the most emotional announcement of a Pro Football Hall of Fame class in history. The formal induction ceremony of the class into the Hall of Fame will be on August 5.

The other members of this year's class are Harry Carson, John Madden, Warren Moon and Rayfield Wright. With six people being inducted this year, this class is also the biggest ever inducted since 2001.

Aikman was once renowned as the NFL's golden boy and one of the greatest quarterbacks of his era. He led the Dallas Cowboys to three Super Bowl titles in the 1990s. Today, Aikman is a television sportscaster for the Fox network and a joint owner of the NASCAR Nextel Cup racing team, Hall of Fame Racing, along with fellow former Cowboys quarterback, Roger Staubach.

White, nicknamed the andquot;Minister of Defense, andquot; was one of football's most prolific sackers ever, either in college, the USFL and the NFL.. White also earned his nickname as reference to his Evangelical Christian ordination. He died suddenly in 2004 after suffering a fatal cardiac arrhythmia caused by the sarcoidosis he had lived with for years. During the 2005 season, three teams retired White's number 92 jersey.

Moon became the first African-American quarterback to ever be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Before him, no other African-American quarterback even got close to induction. Aikman and Moon followed Dan Marino, Steve Young and John Elway in a string of great quarterbacks to make the Hall in their first tries.

andquot;To be the first African-American quarterback into the Hall of Fame, all African-American QBs who played before me should share in this,andquot; Moon said. andquot;I don't want to make this a racial thing, but I think it is significant. It shows that we have arrived at the pinnacle of our sport.andquot;

And, of course, there is Madden, the coach-broadcaster-video game entrepreneur who holds the record for the best winning percentage of any NFL coach with 100 victories (.759). He coached the Oakland Raiders for 10 years and won the 1977 Super Bowl. <bio>Jonathon Hardcastle writes articles for http://footballorbust.com/ - In addition, Jonathon also writes articles for http://igolfcentral.net/ and http://universeofentertainment.com/ </bio>

The Longhorns have been representing the University of Texas in various sporting events. One of their most notable team is their football team. Throughout its history, the team has shown strength and dominance. Four Longhorns have won the Heisman Trophy. This is a recognition given to the best college football player. Aside from that, they have eleven Longhorn names in the College Football Hall of Fame while four in the National Football League Hall of Fame.

Aside from its Hall of Famers and multi awarded players, their rivalry with the Texas AandM University is also making noise. Others call the university AandM or TAMU. TAMU is a research university in Texas. Their football team is the Aggies. The team also has a rich history that started in 1894. Their runner back in 1957, John David Crow won the Heisman Trophy. Aside from that, they also have players and coaches playing for the National Football League.

The Texas Longhorns and Texas Aggies rivalry is already a part of the football culture in Texas. The rivalry is beyond football. Even those who are not athletes have exiting rivalries among themselves. However, football is among the most popular sport in College and anyone from the state is fully aware of the matchup between the two.

They rank third in the most played football rivalries in Division 1-A. making it very popular among fans. The history of the rivalry is as old as the Aggies. They first battle it out in 1894. The Longhorns won. The Aggies would not win against the horns until their meeting in 1902 where the Aggies destroyed the horns at 11-0.

However, those were just regular meetings. They were just two teams wanting to come out victorious. In 1911, the course of competition changed. Aggies fans were not happy of their defeat. The real rivalry began that night.

Like in most rivalries, the Longhorns rejoice in every defeat of their opponents. The rivalry even gave birth to the Lone Star Showdown. The name derived from the State of Texas, the Lone Star State. When the two teams meet in a sporting event, they keep track of who wins. Every time they win, they earn a point. At the end of the year, the team with the most points shall receive a trophy.

The rivalry between the Texas Longhorns and the Texas Aggies has influenced students and other member of the two universities. In fact, when you look at it closely, the students get to appreciate their school better when a game against the rival team is up coming. They seem to be more united than at times when their team is competing with just another regular team. You may be surprised at their reactions every time they win over the other. It seems like they have won a championship match.

It greatly affects the response of the fans as well. The cheers of the longhorn fans are not as loud as the cheer they give when their team is up against the Texas Aggies.<bio>Rick Grantham is an expert on sports equipment, specially on Texas Longhorns Merchandise for more information on NCAA College Merchandise, visit BooYah Village.</bio>

Ah, college football. It's one of the most anticipated sports season among sports bettors. If you are like most sports bettors, the words college football parlay makes you salivate. Step into any Las Vegas sportsbook on Saturday during the college football season and you will see lines of people frantically filling out hopefully soon-to-be winning college football parlay cards.

At many sportsbooks, ties win on their parlay cards. The Internet has really opened things up. Now you can shop around for the best parlay card rates--and you better shop. Many sportsbooks have adopted a standard rate, but there's usually 1 or 2 that's different. Of course, the real reason to shop around is the point spread. In college football, it's possible to save a couple points (sometimes more--depending on how large the spread is) by shopping around.

Just what are your odds of actually hitting a college football parlay card? As you might know, your odds increase with the number of teams selected. In my opinion, there's no reason to play a two-team parlay card. You are better betting both games straight up. Therefore, I am going to start with a three team parlay card and give you the probability of winning.

College Football Parlay Card Probabilities

3 Team College Football Parlay Card: 1 in 8 4 Team College Football Parlay Card: 1 in 16 5 Team College Football Parlay Card: 1 in 32 6 Team College Football Parlay Card: 1 in 64 7 Team College Football Parlay Card: 1 in 128 8 Team College Football Parlay Card: 1 in 256 9 Team College Football Parlay Card: 1 in 512 10 Team College Football Parlay Card: 1 in 1024

Your best parlay card is the three-team parlay. Most sports books will pay 6-1 for a winner, which is just slightly less than the true odds. The higher you go, the larger the difference between the payout and the true odds. Of course, you won't be thinking about true odds when you bag a nice ten-team parlay card. It's quite the rush.

If you have never played a parlay card, it's time you start. Don't miss out on one of the most exciting thing to do during the college football season. Make it a point to put in at least one parlay card--a three-team parlay card to start. Now, get out there and win some money on college football. <bio>To use this article, the following links must be included and work when clicked: http://www.advantagesportsbetting.com http://www.sportsgamblingreview.com http://www.sportsbettingbasketball.com </bio>

The University of Notre Dame is the proud home of the Fighting Irish. They tail the University of Michigan as the winningest college football program in the land. They also hold seven Heisman trophies.

There were several concerns about the name Fighting Irish. Specifically, many asked the question why the university used the word Irish. Some were worried because it sounded exclusive to the Irish race. Although the name was very specific, the university welcomed athletes of different ancestries. Many also suspect that the school team is exclusive to the Catholics; however, they also welcome students who hold other religion.

The university never intended to make the school nor their athletic department to be race and religion exclusive. The name Notre Dame Fighting Irish came about to recognize the struggles of the Irish in the Colonial era. The name is suiting for the team because they fight as the Irish fought for their lives way back in time. The fruit of their labor is at hand. The team is surely proud to be the second winningest team in the college football history.

An important part of their history is their notable coaches. One is Coach Frank Leahy, inducted in College football Hall of Fame in 1970. He also played for the Notre Dame in 1928 to 1930. However, his mark as a coach supersedes the time he participated as a player. He coached the team in 1941 to 1943 and came back to coach in 1946 to 1953.

Before moving to Notre Dame, he coached the Boston College where they remained undefeated in 1940. During his time at Notre Dame, he led the Fighting Irish to four National Championships: 1949, 1947, 1946, and 1941.

Aside from the four National Championships, many remembered him as the coach of four of the seven Heisman trophy awardees of Notre Dame. He was also responsible for recruiting future Heisman trophy recipient, Paul Hornung. He left Notre Dame in 1954 with six undefeated seasons. Three years after his induction in the College Football Hall of Fame, he gave in to leukemia.

Another Hall of Famer coach is Knute Rockne. Rockne coached Leahy when he was still an athlete. He coached Notre Dame throughout his coaching career, from 1918 to 1930. During his time, he led the Fighting Irish to six national championships. It was in 1930, 1929, 1927, 1924, 1920, and in 1919.

Like Leahy, Rockne left a legacy in Notre Dame. In addition to the six National Championships, he also had five undefeated seasons and to top it all, he has the highest winning percentage in Division 1-A at 0.881.

He was also a coach who knew the other business of football. He knew how to profit from it through establishing good relationship with the press. Aside from a great head coach, he also became successful in marketing the Notre Dame Fighting Irish merchandise. Although this caused them a chance to play in the 1926 National Championship, they rebounded hard and won the title in 1927.

The Fighting Irish is very interesting in terms of its name and notable coaches. No wonder they are one of the best all time college football teams.<bio>Rick Grantham is an expert on sports equipment, specially on Notre Dame Merchandise for more information on NCAA College Merchandise, visit BooYah Village.</bio>

Jerry Rice was born on October 13, 1962 in Crawford, Mississippi. Although Rice never had the physical abilities of some other great athletes, he always had the work ethic and determination to get the job done. For this reason, Rice is widely regarded as the best wide receivers to ever play the game. And many people feel that he is the greatest football player of all time regardless of position.

In high school Rice played on the defensive side of the football, and was good enough to make the All State team. But although he accomplished a lot in high school, no NCAA Division I football programs offered him a scholarship.

With no other options, Rice decided to attend Mississippi Valley State University, an NCAA Division I-AA program. In 1983 Rice had a great season, and set many records along the way. He had 102 receptions, 1,450 yards, and was named to several All American teams. He followed this up with an equally good season as a senior in 1984. All of his college football accomplishments led him to being inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in August of 2006.

Rice was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers with the 16th pick of the first round in the 1985 NFL Draft. Although Rice struggled with drops during his first year in the NFL, he turned some heads. He finished the season with 927 yards on 49 catches. And ever since that first season Rice was off and running. At the time of his retirement he held many NFL records including receptions, receiving yards, touchdown receptions, touchdowns, all purpose yards, and many more.

It is safe to say that Jerry Rice is the best wide receiver to ever play the game of football. Not only did Butkus have all of the physical skills to be a top notch player throughout his career, but he was always known as one of the smartest as well. When you put these two things together it is easy to see why Butkus was a force on the gridiron for many years.

After high school Butkus decided to take his game to the University of Illinois where he played from 1962 to 1964. During his time at Illinois Butkus quickly became known as a force to be reckoned with. From his linebacker position, Butkus was a unanimous All American selection in both 1963 and 1964. To go along with this honor he won many other awards including Big Ten Conference Most Valuable Player, and a sixth place finish in the Heisman Trophy voting. In 1983 Butkus was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. Additionally, the Dick Butkus award is given to the best college linebacker in the country each year.

Butkus was drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. From the very start he showed the entire league why he was the best linebacker in college. During his rookie campaign he led the Bears in tackles, forced fumbles, and interceptions. Over the course of his career Butkus was selected to nine Pro Bowls, and made the all league team on six occasions.

All in all, Dick Butkus will always be known as one of the best linebackers to ever play the game of football.
Different people have nicknames in sports. These words describe them and their performance in the team. Most of the time, they are blessed with these nicknames by their fellow teammates or by the commentators of the game. Michael Jordan was called the Air Jordan. He acquired this because of his ability to suspend in air when making a shot and his fancy moves when making a shot. George Herman Ruth, Jr. was popularly known as the Babe Ruth because he was considered as the new Babe of Jack (owner of the Baltimore Orioles). However, it is not only players of the sport, who gets a chance to have name attachments. Coaches have nicknames too.

If you ask, who was the bear of football? It is no other than Paul Bryant. He got this nickname because of accepting a challenge to fight with a bear in exchange for a dollar. Despite having this nickname attached to him since he was thirteen years old, this person have coached many teams. However, he was best associated with the team whom he has helped to win six National Championships. He became a part of the Hall of Fame for College Baseball because of his performance with the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Mike Ditka was also one of the football coaches who earned a nickname. He was called as the Iron Mike back in his professional playing years. This was because He led the Chicago Bears to win their Super Bowl Title in 1986.

Earl Louis Lambeau, head coach of the Green Bay Packers from 1921-49, was called Curly. If you ask why he was called such, well all you have to do is look at is photo. He had a stadium named after him and it is called Lambeau Stadium. This is the home field of the Green Bay Packers.

Steve Superior, head coach of University of South Carolina Football team, was also called as "The Ol' Ball Coach". This was the nickname he incurred in his coaching years and it is like a slang of the other one which is "The Head Ball Coach". He led the University of Florida in to winning Championships Titles from SEC and the Nationals. He also won the Heisman Award back in 1996.

If we have the Bear, we also have the Papa Bear in Football. He is no other than George Halas, Sr.. He was also called as the Mr. Everything. He took hold of the Chicago Cubs in 1921 were he practically became everything, a player, administrator and owner of the team. He even coached them even when he was playing. No wonder this guy is called Mr. Everything! He managed to help the team win six championship titles. This guy deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.

Nicknames for coaches apply from amateur teams like Alabama Crimson Tide to professional teams like Chicago Cubs. Not many players or coaches have nicknames that they can go by with. Sometimes, it only comes for those who have made memorable moments, performed well and made a big impact for the NFL.<bio>Freddie Brister is a huge fan of the SEC and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Football is a sport deeply embedded in American sporting culture. I am not referring to soccer ofcourse. What I am referring to is American Football. It has continually influence the lives of many insofar as their sporting lives are concerned. This is so since football is a very fascinating game. It is fast moving, fun and sometimes painful to watch, especially when players tackle each other. And while some may refer to it as a bit rough, it nevertheless has some grace to it, which if appreciated in the right manner, might seem polished. To say however that it is as graceful as ballet for example, would be pushing it.

American football is a tough sport. This is characterized by the sport in that, to be an effective football player, one should have the right size so that they may be able to compete properly with other players. This is not to say ofcourse that all football players are huge. There are also a few exceptions. And one of them is Doug Flutie. This rather short man, having American Football as basis, grew to be one of the greatest quarterbacks in football. But the highlight of his career was when he was in college.

College football as differentiated with pro football is faster, and more aggressive. This is evidenced by the fact that players in it are younger compared to that of pro football. But when we are talking about the play that takes place between these leagues, there is no doubt that the plays being executed in pro football is more refined and polished. Also, players in pro football are more mature when it comes to the execution of plays and also of filling in their roles. Such that pro football is a different level compared to that of college football.

With the love of football deeply embedded in American culture, what follows it, like any other sports, are betting on the game. Betting in sports happen even if what is concerned is college sports. And in this case, college football. According to those who love to gamble, by betting on sports, it makes the game more interesting. It makes it more fascinating. People who often bet on college football experience the kind of thrill that other people who are not betting don't feel. This is because they have their money on the line and by having it on the line, there will be a different thrill on it.

But you should be careful in placing your bets, you should ask help in determining your chances of winning. This is important since heavy gamblers often place bet "above of the ordinary" amount. Espn College Football Picks can help you. One place wherein there are advices are Espn College Football Picks. Espn College Football Picks is a good way to educate yourself for smart betting. Espn College Football Picks will help you determine your chances of winning.
North America is crazy about football. From community teams and high school teams, right up to the NFL, football fans are among the most loyal fans of any sport. Fans especially love college football.

The College football season usually begins at the start of the fall semester. Colleges take their football team success very seriously, and work their players as hard as possible. In U.S. college football, the goal is to reach one of the bowls, with the main focus being the Rose Bowl. This is a showdown of the two best college teams battling for the championship title. Many college football teams dream of winning the Rose Bowl title, but there are other bowls to strive for as well. The Orange Bowl, one step down from the Rose Bowl, is played in Florida; hence the name. The Sugar Bowl is another important college football event.

Students play college football with hopes of taking their talents all the way to the top. Talented players make a name for themselves and for their schools. College coaches visit high school teams to scout new talent. They try to recruit the best players, because at the college level, football is a very serious sport. All college coaches want to ensure winning lineups for their schools. Students wanting to further their football careers should be careful to choose a school that will provide a good education, while also earning the attention of professional teams. Many professional coaches scout college players in their junior and senior years, and try to recruit them for the NFL. It takes real talent to make it to the big leagues. Some college students are able to make a successful adjustment, while others may not even make it through training. College football is huge, with both fans and entire communities taking pride in their local teams. Games are played to capacity crowds. Unless it's a bowl, colleges allow people to come the day of the game and purchase their tickets. When purchasing bowl tickets, it's important that they are reserved early in the season so that you are able to get a good seat. Students supporting their home school are usually offered game tickets at discount prices, because colleges want the students to provide a big showing of school pride.

Football fans looking for an intense game played by talented athletes choose college football. It's fun to follow the college teams, because you never know whether your campus star may become the next big thing in the NFL. <bio>Nancy Anderson contributes to several online magazines, including http://jebog.com and http://recreation-site.com </bio>

From their record, you can really tell that this team is one of the most successful football teams.

The Big 10 is one of the conferences in the National College Athletics Association. It was established in order to regulate and organize athletics in college division. They wanted to ensure that anyone who will play for their school is not just anyone; rather they should be a student of the school they represent with good academic performance. Seven universities started as the early members of this conference and it was not until the 1899 when Indiana and Iowa joined. However when Chicago left, they became the Big Nine. In addition, they adopted the name Intercollegiate Conference of Faculty Representatives. Today there are 11 universities joining this conference and the Big 10 Conference became an official name 1987 with a whole new system incorporating values and academic excellence in choosing athletes to play for the member schools.

Athletes in this conference compete for 25 championships (for both men and women). There are 12 sports for men and 13 for women (because of volleyball). University of Michigan has the most wins, garnering 40 NCAA championships titles. They have been playing for this conference since 1896 then left the conference and came back again in 1907. They are famous for their achievements in football, hockey, baseball and basketball. Their college team is known as the Michigan Wolverines.

Their football team garnered 11 championship titles, the most for all of their teams. However, they have 42 Big Ten Conference Titles that have been accumulated since 1898. The following are the notable coaches for their football team:

1. Fielding Yost- he became the coach starting the year 1901. He did not have any national titles but he helped the team grab 13 Big Ten Titles. Despite of it all, he still became a hall of famer in 1995.

3. Lloyd Carr- He was the head coach for the year 1995-2007. With his stay in this University, he led them to win 5 Big 10 Titles. And in 1997, he led the team to win their 11th national title, breaking the silence since 1948. He won a lot of awards in his coaching years including a Paul Bear Bryant Award.

4. Benjamin Gaylord Oosterbaan- He is the head coach way back in 1948-1958. He led the team to win 3 Big Ten Titles. In 1948, he led the team to win their 10th National Championship Title. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1954.

5. Harry G. Kipke- He was the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines 1929-37. He helped the team to win four Big 10 titles.
People have different stories of success to tell. A billionaire might be once a struggling college student who works to pay for college. On the other hand, a successful businessman becomes the number one in the market because it is a legacy that has been passed on years. A crumbling football team becomes the next Super bowl Champions because of one man (thinking that his former group does not need him anymore) that has been drafted from the other teams.

However, despite the many glorious stories in our lives, we cannot deny that there are also stories of has-beens. For some, tables are turned and the ones, always on top, become the strugglers. In American Football, some are in this situation.

When the National Football League started, the small-town teams dominated the game. Akron Pros were the first champions of the league. However, more teams has been added to the 11 founding teams and by 1921, the total number of members reached 22. By now, some of the teams no longer exist because they changed locations or because the cities have their own teams. One of the most successful teams back then that has retained their name is the Green Bay Packers.

Yes, this team may have not started out to compete not until the 1921. However, they hold the most number of titles in NFL. According to the official site of pro football hall of fame, this team won three titles in the period of where the winner was determined through win-loss percentage. In 1933, where there was already an annual championship game held, they grabbed another three titles for the years 1936, 1939 and1944. When AFL decided to operate their own league, this team grabbed the 1964 title. When the two associations (AFL and NFL) decided to merge, the deciding match for the champions is the Super bowl and this team grabbed the 1966-67 titles. 1970 was the time when both associations where not longer separate entities but they were termed as conferences. The top one team from both conferences will be the ones to meet in the Super bowl. In 1996, this team from Wisconsin, grabbed their last (hopefully not the least) Championship title.

The team might not be on the list as they always have been. New England Patriots have been dominating the charts for the millennium. In 2007, the New Yorkers made their mark. Despite the performance of the Green Bay Packers, they still hold the most titles in NFL. They also have their own sets of Hall of Famers like Brett Favre. He was one the quarterback of the team and lead many division championships for this their conference. This was because most of their wide receivers were injured and they lost their coaches too. This caused their standings to crumble. However, despite the downfalls, it is not the end of the world. They still sell-out well on their hometown games.

Hopefully, the glory that once roared in Lambeau Field will be once again heard in the Super bowl matches that people are waiting for.<bio>Freddie Brister is a huge fan of the NFL and the Green Bay Packers.
Picking college football games has become more and more popular in recent years. The process of picking the games happens in a number of forums in a number of places every year during the fall season of college football. Understanding what the situations are and why picking college football games are enjoyable to some makes the whole industry more understandable. Here, college football picks are explained in the context of several situations.

The Spread

To have college football picks explained properly, you need to first understand point spreads. The point spread is how sports books encourage betting on both sides of any game. A number is assigned to a team in the game. That number is how many points the book believes that team would need to have added to their score for you, the better, to believe they might win the game. For instance, if Indiana is playing Northwestern, the book may say the line is Indiana plus 3. That means, if you bet on Indiana and they win or lose by less than three, you win the bet. The spread is part of what makes picking college football games difficult and exciting.

The Office Pool

College football picks explained in the context of the office pool, or any pool for that matter, make it easier to understand. In a pool, money is collected from a number of individuals and held centrally. The money is then paid out to the winner, and sometimes paid to second, third, etc. places in the competition as well. In a pool, the participants would compete by picking college football games every week. In many pools, the games are picked using the point spread (see above). This makes the selections more challenging and thus the money harder to win.

Straight Gambling

College football picks explained to one may also be mentioned in connection with actual gambling with a sports book. Some people who enjoy gambling like to use sports books to bet on their favorite college football picks. That is because they at least feel like they have some knowledge of what is going on and have a fighting chance. Unlike casino games, there is little about football gambling you don't control except for the lines. That false sense of control is what makes picking college football games as a way of gambling incredibly popular.

That, in a nutshell, is college football picks explained. You will find that no matter where you go, there are people picking college football games for a number of reasons. By learning what the betting lines and point spreads are, you have a better idea of how the process works. Additionally, by understanding how a pool works and how much many people enjoy straight up gambling on college football picks you can see what the appeal is in picking the games. Though it may not be your cup of tea, you will find that there area thousands of people out there who pick college football games every week for one reason or another. <bio>Jack Peterson has an interest in Football Picks related topics.
All you wrestling fans out there who aren't quite sure what to do for their next vacation should plan a visit to Oklahoma City. That's because the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum is located in Oklahoma City and it is a must see for anyone who enjoys wrestling. Here you will learn about wrestling's past, its present, and the plans for the future.

It is such an educational trip not to mention enjoyable that individuals who aren't that big on wrestling will probably even enjoy it. There really is a lot to learn because the sport of wrestling did not begin with the WWF - WWE. Instead, the sport had a much more modest beginning and the museum celebrates this as well as all the leaps and bounds the sport has made in popularity since.

When you head to the museum make sure you plan on arriving Monday through Friday 9 am until 4:30 pm or else by appointment on the weekends. Within the Museum you will see the Paul K. Scott Museum of Wrestling History, the John T. Vaughan Hall of Honors, Gable/Smith Room, FILA International Hall of Fame, William S. Heins Jr. Library, Cliff Keen Theater, as well as others. You will learn so much about wrestling that you never knew before when you visit the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.

When you visit Oklahoma City you will also find many other things to enjoy. You can play golf, go shopping, enjoy seeing professional sports games, and even more. Oklahoma City is the most populous city in the state of Oklahoma so there are lots of things for tourists to do and see here. You will love the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum as well as everything else there is to see and do.

There is a website that has great information on USA Vacations and Unique Travel Spots Listed State By State and Season, the website is called: Seasonal Vacation Spots, and can be found at this url:

http://www.seasonalvacationspots.com

By Robert W.
Everyone loves fantasy football and get very excited for the fantasy drafts. But, have you ever really thought about why? I mean, beyond the obvious.

Fantasy football is really the only place or way for you, an average person, to create a football team that you have control over. You choose which football player starts, and who is on the bench. You get to draft whatever players you want to your team based on their real life performance record. The really cool thing? Well, you don't have to worry about anything else. You don't have to deal with any money issues except for salary cap. That's it. You don't have to worry about how much money the fans are pulling in by purchasing tickets to your stadium, nor do you have to worry about purchasing the football equipment, such as football helmets like these: http://www.sports-collectibles-store.com/Riddell_Deluxe_Football_Helmets-p-1-c-3.html that your team will be using. Now, that my friends...is very cool indeed.

So you basically have free reign of a team of great football players (if you've done your homework), and now can decide who plays when. Obviously, it is not as in depth as Madden Football, but this is more of a player game. Meaning, you choose your players based on their record in the NFL and create your team and score your points that way instead of making plays, you are making a team.

Now, my question is: What about college football? The enormous fan base across the US would make fantasy college football a huge presence in the sports world. Sure, it would be a lot harder to predict what players to pick because although they are way better than I would ever be at football, they are not always as consistent as most NFL players are. Especially when you are drafting your defense. But, just imagine how much more varied and exciting the world of fantasy football would be if you could create your own college team too.

You could go off of the andquot;expertsandquot; top college football picks, starting with the team and working your way down. Just think of the huge potential talent that is stuffed away at big 10 colleges because they've already got their star quarterback or wide receiver. This would give little known players a chance to get their name out there before even completing college. You could help them kick start their career! <bio>Chris Hinde is an aspiring sports column writer.
There are many benefits of the NFL for college graduates. First of all, there is a great possibly of them being drafted by the National Football League to become professional football players. There is even more of a possibility of being recruited to play professionally if they played well while in college. If they were to get drafted, their career would be set; there would be no need to get a job or ever worry about money again. After signing that multi-million dollar contract, they would be established for life.

Another benefit of the NFL for college graduates is their degree. No matter what their degree may be in, it is often difficult to immediately find gainful employment following graduation. By being drafted into the NFL, these young people don't have to worry about the stress of searching for employment. They can play professional football for approximately twelve-fifteen years, and then retire. At that time they're still young enough to pursue a career in whatever industry they were interested before being recruited to play football. The career doesn't even have to be in the same field that their degree is in, because they would have the option of doing whatever they wanted. But their degree would always be something that they could rely on if something were to happen and they could no longer play football. They wouldn't be limited to finding a job, because first of all, they wouldn't need to work. Why would someone with millions of dollars in the bank want to work for someone else? Secondly, they could use some of the money earned while playing football to start their own business, which is what a lot of retired players do anyway. Being that a lot of former pro football players aren't even forty when they retire, they're still young and full of energy; they need something to occupy their time since they're so used to being kept busy.

Another benefit is that if recent graduates are drafted to play professional football, they get the opportunity to travel, meet new people, especially beautiful women, as well as become rich and famous. They will get to live in huge mansions, drive expensive sports cars, etc.

On the other hand, many recently retired football players may choose not to pursue a career outside of football. They may decide to become sports reporters, commentators, coaches, or some other sports-related official. If a college graduate can get noticed by the NFL, then they will have a great future ahead of them. <bio>Stacey Day writes about http://www.nflgearshop.com/ </bio>

Notre Dame football tickets are a treasure, as millions of fans around the world sit on the edge of their seats every time the Fighting Irish play a game. The Irish can boast of a long and incredibly successful football history, and the academic reputation of the school is commensurate with the team's on-field success. The best way to look at the history of this storied program is to break it down into periods of coaching, as the team has been competing at a high level for over 100 years.

Early Years

The Irish endured humble beginnings, and were beaten regularly by what would become their arch-rival, the University of Michigan. However, the team finally broke through against the Wolverines in 1909, and Michigan refused to play Notre Dame again for 33 years. Their 11-3 win represented their biggest triumph since the program began in 1887, and set the stage for the arrival of their first coaching legend.

The Rockne Era

Kenneth "Knute" Rockne arrived on campus in 1918, and immediately took the program to new heights. Rockne posted a record of 105 wins and 12 losses with 5 ties in his 13 seasons as coach, and the Irish won six national championships and enjoyed five undefeated seasons. Rockne also coached several playing legends, including George "The Gipper" Gipp and the Four Horsemen. Thanks to Rockne, the Irish had become the premier college football program in the United States. However, Rockne tragically died in a plane crash in 1931, and the program suffered for a time because of this unexpected loss.

The Leahy Era

Frank Leahy arrived in South Bend in 1941, and he coached Notre Dame until 1953. However, Leahy did leave the program in 1944 and 1945 to fight in World War II. Leahy posted a record nearly equal to Rockne's, and he posted six undefeated seasons. Leahy also guided the team to 39 games without a loss, and oversaw one of the greatest eras in the history of Notre Dame football. Much like after Rockne left, Notre Dame football struggled for ten years until another legendary coach arrived.

The Parseghian Era

Ara Parseghian arrived in 1964, and he, like Leahy, immediately restored Notre Dame to its customary place at the top of the college football world. Parseghian won nearly 100 games in only nine seasons, and he ushered in a new phenomenon in Notre Dame football tickets by helping to end the policy of not playing in bowl games in 1969. Under Parseghian, the team won two more national championships and its first bowl games.

Modern Era

Several other coaches have followed these legends with varying degrees of success. Dan Devine continued the success with another national championship, but his successor, Gerry Faust, never enjoyed more than seven wins during the regular season.

Lou Holtz followed Faust, and he led the Irish to their most recent national championship to date in 1988. Following Holtz, the Irish struggled with the likes of Bob Davie and Tyrone Willingham, but their current coach, Charlie Weis, has shown great promise during his short time in South Bend.

Notre Dame football has also allowed fans to see a plethora of great players, but their program was put together by a string of Hall of Fame coaches. These transcendent leaders are the main reason that Notre Dame football tickets are so special, and why Notre Dame is still seen as the premier college football program in the country. <bio>By Jay Nault sponsored by http://www.stubhub.com/ .
If you are a genuine college football sports betting enthusiast, you have probably hired the services of a good college football handicapper. And if you're not, my question to you is, why haven't you?

Yes, it will cost you some money to have a college football handicapper help you with your bets. But that will be money well spent rather than seeing your hard-earned cash just go down the drain. Handicapping football is not an easy task and it requires a great amount of time. You will have to allot a great deal of your time and effort if you want to come up with a good analysis of the games.

Everybody claims to be an expert in analyzing a football game. Perhaps you may also think of yourself as one. But take a look at your winnings, if you actually have any winnings. And also, if you are having luck and winning bets left and right, you might also want to consider on winning some more. Whichever of these two types of bettors you place yourself, I guarantee you that you will benefit greatly by having a college football handicapper help every step of the way.

Should you decide to hire one, don't just take the services of any college football handicapper that you may encounter. There are a lot of posers out there, both on the Internet and the ones lurking around sportsbooks. Here are some tips you might want to consider before you hire one.

First of all, you must learn to observe. Find out the bettors who are winning consistently and taking home the bigger pays. They probably have good professional college football handicapper working for them. Find who these people are and try to interview them.

Know your credentials. Ask your potential college football handicapper the work he has done and perhaps an overview of the services he can do for you. Each handicapper has his own strategy and technique in making his analyses and I bet he will not freely share it with you.
