In training your dog the "Come" command, stand several feet away from him. Bend down, say his name and then approach him, clapping your hands at the same time. Do this several times if to get him to come near you. As he starts to understand this exercise, and as you start to capture his attention, move back a few feet farther.

Try not to make the mistake of calling him from a long distance when he's not focused on you. If he ignores you that means you are training your dog that it is fine to ignore you. This is totally defeating the purpose of dog pre-training, which is to pattern him to focus on you and obey you.

The "Fetch" command is another good activity. If you have a breed that is not a retriever, fetching is a good activity for him to learn. This is an easy and pleasant way to exercise your dog but is also the basis for several other fun tasks he can learn later on such as carrying the newspaper.

Training your dog to retrieve is simple and enjoyable if you do not expect an award winning performance the first few times. Remember, this will not come naturally to all dogs at the beginning, especially the very independent and the very shy dogs. The rewards are wonderful. The earlier you begin training your dog, the easier it will be.

Next, tie a colorful sock and dangle it happily in front of your dog's mouth. Encourage him if he begins to lick it or opens his mouth. Throw the sock a couple of feet in front of the dog. If your dog sniffs it, praise him like never before! If he picks it up, capture his attention to come back to you by calling his name and clapping your hands and patting the ground or whatever will encourage him to come back. Try not to overdo this exercise. A couple of retrieves at this point is sufficient. If your dog is not too thrilled about it, once is sufficient.

Slowly add to the length of your throw. If your dog reaches the point where he actually picks it up and runs with the object, put a cord or string on his collar and calmly direct him back to you. Some dog owners' liker using a small ball. The movement is a good attention grabber. Make sure that you do not toss the ball too far away to get capture your dog's attention.

Dog experts suggest using a bright colored ball and rolling it off his little nose from the top of his head. If the movement of the ball does not appeal to your dog, face him close to a wall so that the ball will roll back in his direction again.

After Training Time is Over...

Next comes loving time. Show your dog that regardless of how the come and fetch training panned out, you have plenty of hugs, kisses and snuggling to share and often.<bio>Provided by Kelly Marshall from Oh My Dog Supplies - the largest choice of dog feeders online, visit http://www.ohmydogsupplies.com/dog-supplies/elevated-dog-feeders/</bio>

Now that your little angel has reached 7 months old. Time goes by so fast that you don't realize your baby is now able to sit upright without your support or even her own hands. Wow, that must be an incredible feeling seeing her grow so instantly.

For parents of 7 to 9-months-old babies, what else can you find in their physical growths? Well, every baby is not the same. One may have earlier development from the others.

For example, your friend's baby was able to start crawling when he was 8 months old, while yours could do it when she was seven and a half months.

On the other hand, the first baby started teething when he was 6 months old, whereas yours did it when she was 9 months.

So, you really need not to be anxious about your baby's development. She will reach the stage.

What you need to pay attention to is your baby's developmental milestone. This means she should be able to do certain things at particular ages.

It's best for you to make some notes on your baby's growth, such as writing all her new skills in an online diary. If you do not want to miss any of your baby's growths, writing the journal will be very exciting.

Adding up cute photos when new things happen will also be a wonderful endeavor. Later on, you'll thank yourself for keeping the memories online as you can see it anytime anywhere. Add up the joy by sharing the site to friends and families.

Now let's go back to the previous topic. If you're a first-time parent, you probably still have a little idea about your baby's development.

Below is a milestone you can use as your guideline. If your baby isn't on her track or doesn't reach many of the stages mentioned here, you may consult it with your baby's pediatrician.

Here are some of the milestones for 7 to 9-months-old baby:

1. Sitting upright without support 2. Crawling 3. Teething 4. Babbling 5. Passing things from hand to hand 6. Standing up by holding onto something 7. Waving hands 8. Clapping hands 9. Turning heads when someone calls her 10. Holding her bottles 11. Picking objects up with pincer (thumb-finger) grasp 12. Testing your responses to her behavior 13. Able to distinguish people she knows and strangers 14. Cruising while holding onto the wall or other furniture

The older your baby, the more skills she may have. If your baby is not able to do some of these things, don't worry too much. It does not mean a problem. She'll reach the phase in the perfect time, soon. About The Author: Adwina Jackson is a wife and mother of a young boy.
Any social event that features music played with country styled musical instruments is sure to draw large crowds. Musical instruments such as the fiddle, banjo, and guitar have been featured during live performances at the Grand Ole Opry and are favored by country music artists in recording studios around the world. These musical instruments are not easy to use at first, but they are the most preferred musical instrument modes to bring country styled music to people around the world.

People believe that guitars, banjos, and fiddles should be easy to play if they are meant to supply country styled music sounds. That outlook changes when players must figure out how to make the music tones change after a few strums on the chords. Then aspiring musicians realize that there is a lot of practice involved to produce quality country music sounds worth listening to.

The effort of learning to strum each of these musical instruments might be too much for some, because the intricacies of playing the musical instruments is greater than expected, and people do not want to waste money learning how to play them. It takes months of practice to render music of better quality, and even more practice will be required to play good enough for a public performance. Most students learn the basic chords while playing these music instruments in high school.

To an untrained ear, country musical instruments might sound in tune when they truly are not. A country music fan will know if the musician knows their stuff when they are able to play country styled musical instruments such as the violin and banjo and produce musical sounds that sound just like a train coming down the tracks. When this type of country music sound is produced on a stage in front of a live audience, the crowd will typically show how good the music feels by clapping hands and stomping feet while the chords are being released in unison on the stage.

Country music gets even livelier when drums are introduced to the music score. Audiences are likely to get up and start dancing when these country styled musical instruments are heard. The clapping is likely to get very loud during some portions of a country music show and fans will show their appreciation for a good performance by giving standing ovations at the end of the show. Drums are not down home country music instruments but are percussion styled instruments that can be used to create country styled spirit in music scores.

The true sounds of country music can be derived from two country styled musical instruments. Early settlers used to rely on everyday items around the house to produce musical sounds at social events. Items such as a washboard and a jug of moonshine have been used to spice up parties in many ways. After the daily wash chores were finished, women could be seen congregating with friends for a mid-afternoon party. The rhythms created after many days of wash would be introduced to guests when they came over for a Saturday night filled with dancing.<bio>James Brown writes about ProSound and Stage Lighting coupon, InstrumentPro.com coupon and Musician's Friend coupon</bio>

Your healthy habits have made the skin on your face look great for your age, but what about your hands?

One day I looked down at mine and thought: andquot;Ugh! When did my hands get so wrinkly and dry looking?andquot; So I decided to do something about it. I found that there are 3 major enemies to your hands. If you know how to get around these, your hands will be softer, prettier and younger looking.

1) Enemy #1: Water

Housewifery and Mommyhood are hard on your digits. Washing your hands frequently after diaper changes, dishwashing, exposing your hands to cleaning products (even environmentally safe ones) can be extremely drying, making your hands look old before their time and also increasing the likelihood of getting little nicks and cuts that can l lead to infection.

So baby your hands - be diligent about wearing gloves while doing house cleaning. Better yet, slather on lotion before you put them on for an extra moisture boost. After every handwashing, repeat. And look for moisturizing products with oil, not water, as the first ingredient.

2) Enemy #2: The Sun

If you're like most women, you put moisturizer and sunscreen on your face every single day. Why? To prevent premature aging, of course. Why do your hands deserve less? Excessive sun damage is a major cause of premature aging. Protect your hands with a good sunscreen.

3) Enemy #3: Dead Skin

Your hands need exfoliation every once in awhile to look their best. Try putting a handful of sugar in your palm and adding a bit of olive oil, and scrubbing for a minute. Rinse and then moisturize. You can also use a bit of lemon juice with the sugar if your nails need brightening. For a special treat, slather on a thick moisturizer after this routine and wear cotton gloves to bed. You'll wake up with baby soft hands.

Your hands work so hard. They deserve some tender loving care so treat them well. <bio>For more natural bath and beauty ideas and free salt scrub recipes, visit http://www.SaltScrubsandBathMelts.com </bio>

Have you had that sinking sensation in the pit of your stomach when you meet someone for the very first time? You go to shake their hands and realize too late that you have sweating hands! This is a potentially embarrassing situation and if it happens even once, you will forever be aware that it can happen again.

And in this day and age when everything needs to be picture perfect and things such as sweating need to be hidden, it is the height of embarrassment to have something as uncool as sweating hands, damp palms or anything else like that.

In fact, if you suffer from the problem of sweating hands, you might find yourself going to unnatural lengths to secure a future free of sweating hands. Some people try the use of antiperspirants on their hands, but this doesn't always yield the result that you might want.

Besides which, it can leave a sticky residue on your hands that interferes with your day to day life, more so even than sweating hands can! Of course rather than resorting to the use of antiperspirants and things, you might first want to look at changing your dietary habits, as this can also have a big impact on how your body sweats.

Or you might have to resort to stronger tactics to get rid of sweating hands as it could be genetic and not completely controllable by changing your diet etc. If this is the case, you can consult with your doctor to find out a viable solution to your problems.

There are other things in your life that may be causing you to have sweating hands, other than genetics, and these you will need to ferret out. One of the most common culprits however, is that of hand and body lotions and creams.

That said, a little bit of dampness indicates that you are healthy. Completely dry skin is not good for you either, and one of the reasons why people make use of creams and things. Just don't go overboard with these things, sweating hands aren't always a product of health problem =96 it could just be a reaction to your hands trying to breathe beneath all that cloying cream.

If you wear creams or things, you might also want to stop your usage of them, or at any rate, find a light cream that will only give you a minimal coverage. Heavier creams can contribute to your sweating hands and make things worse. If you use cream on your body, then after applying the cream make sure to wash your hands thoroughly, to get the cream off. Remember that every little helps. <bio>Author's sites: http://www.healtharticles-lk.com , http://www.herbalremedieslk.com , http://myshabi.blogspot.com </bio>

Autistic children and adults do many things that typical children and adults cannot understand, and the one that is often most prominent is self-stimulation. Called "stimming" in the autism world, self-stimulation is repetitive behavior used solely to engage the senses. Examples include humming, clapping, hand flapping, manipulating objects (such as ripping paper), or running in circles. While these behaviors may seem inappropriate or unnecessary to others, those who suffer from autism are not simple looking for attention or trying to be disruptive--stimming is a way to reduce the stresses of the world.

Autism is a disorder that causes people to react to sensory stimuli in non-typical ways. Stimming is one way of dealing with this bodily malfunction. For example, rocking is a common form of stimming. Some autistic people have asserted that rocking back a forth a few times helps them refocus when they become overly sensitive to the world around them. We all do this to some extent--can you remember a time when you tapped your pencil repetitively because you were nervous about a test or played with your note cards before giving a big speech. Often these and other behaviors, like biting your nails or whistling, are involuntary but help us calm down. Some autistic people need this calming effect every day, multiple times. Others simple enjoy the sensory feelings derived from stimming. In the same way that you may enjoy a back massage's feelings, an autistic individual may enjoy the sensations felt from ripping paper.

Remember, however, that these stimming behaviors can become obsessions. Divide stimming into two categories--calming and excitatory. Calming stimming helps a child refocus, such as we all do when we are nervous, while excitatory stimming directs a child's attention in a negative way. Typical children are said to be "wound up" for example, and for an autistic child, being wound up may mean clapping, yelling sounds, or running. This kind of stimming is detrimental, as it interferes with attention and reinforces inappropriate behavior.

A branch of stimming includes attachment to certain items. Most children have a favorite doll or blanket that goes everywhere, but for an autistic child, this habit is never broken. The item may be something that is textually pleasing or something that the autistic individual likes to smell, hear, or look at. Along with attachment to a specific item, autistic individuals also may find an attachment to organizing items. For example, he or she may repetitively self-stimulate by lining up items. This too can become an obsession.

Stimming can be a difficult habit to break because it is so pleasant to an autistic individual. Some stimming is not bad, for the same reasons in which we all self-stimulate when we are nervous. However, if a child's stimming is interfering with learning, disrupting others, or becoming an obsession or addiction, steps should be taken to reduce this action. Discourage stimming if it makes sense--every case is different and therefore, no steadfast rules regarding stimming can be set. Stimming is all about comfort, and your child, autistic or not, should be comfortable as long as his or her activities do not interfere with others or are not self-damaging. In regards to stimming, reduction of these behaviors is ideal, but remember that complete elimination is usually not necessary. Autistic individuals perceive the world in a different way and we must take that into account. Removing of stopping the stimming entirely can lead to a sensory overload. <bio>Rachel Evans has an interest in Autism. Each hand is grouped in a certain category, and those categories are ranked from highest to lowest.

The Royal Flush is the technical answer when asked what are the best poker hands. It is the best possible hand that can be gotten in a standard five-card poker game. It consists of an Ace, King, Queen, Jack and 10, and all of them must be of the same suit. The suit does not matter, for no suit is better than the other, but the chances of getting such a hand is extremely low, which is why it is considered the best.

The second best kind of poker hand is the Straight Flush. Any sequence of five cards that have the same suit is considered a Straight Flush. An example is 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, all of spades. If two or more people have a Straight Flush, then the person with the highest-numbered card will win. This applies to other poker hands as well.

Ranked below the Straight Flush is the Four of a Kind hand, meaning that one must have four cards with the same value, such as a 3, 3, 3, 3, and another card of any value. The Full House comes right after Four of a Kind, and has three cards with the same value, and two other cards which also have the same value. An example is a hand with 5, 5, 5 and 2, 2.

The Flush is the fifth best poker hand, and isn't as hard to get. To get a Flush, one needs five cards, all of which having the same suit. They don't have to be in sequence. The Straight comes after the Flush, and instead of all the cards having the same suit, it consists of the cards being in sequence. The Three of a Kind follows the Straight, and one needs to have three cards of the same value. For the Two Pair, two different pairs of cards with the same value are needed. If one only has one pair of cards, then it is simply called the Pair. Lastly, if one asks "What are the best poker hands?" then they might as well ask what the worst poker hands are as well. The answer to that is the High Card, which consists of random cards that are different in every way.<bio>Go to www.PokerOnlineSchool.com for a free e-course on how to dominate the competition in cash games and sit-n-go's using the best poker hands.
I want to give you a challenge. Find me a country that does not have music of some kind. Search anywhere you like. Explore the jungles of South America, make your way through African tribes, or discover the peoples of South Asia. No matter where you visit I guarentee you this: every country will, without doubt, have some form of music. Their people will make music, play music, and move to music.

>From California to China, people love music. There is something about music that is core to humanity. What makes a little baby respond to the soft humming of its mother? Or what makes an old woman on the streets of India turn to the sound of a drum? Music is truly a language that is spoken by every person on the earth.

There are many reasons that people love the sound of good music. Music moves us. There is something about the beat of a drum or the rhythm of an orchestra that can cause people of all ages to stand to their feet and move. We are so affected by sound, and when that sound is pleasing to us it forces a response. That response can be the simple clapping of hands or it can be the dancing of our entire bodies.

People all around the world also love music because it is beautiful. There is nothing more amazing then going to an opera or than seeing a symphony orchestra perform. Even the sounds of our favorite album playing in our car remind us that when we hear music, we are encountering some element of sheer beauty. We cannot quite define why music sounds beautiful to our ears, but I have yet to meet a person who does not like one kind of music or another.

That is another great thing about music: it is diverse. You can love classical music, country music, or rock and roll music. Some people prefer music with only a simple melody while others enjoy music with many complicated notes and sounds. What is beautiful to one person may not be called beautiful to another. And that is a beautiful thing.

Music connects people to events and helps them to remember some of life's most significant events. I'll bet you remember the first song you and your spouse danced to, and I bet you can name the song that played the first time you drove a car by yourself. Music is great that way. We can define entire seasons of our life based on the kind of music that we enjoyed during that time. Every one has been with a parent when an "oldies" song comes on the radio and the parent begins singing out the lines of the song, remembering with fondess their younger years.

>From Africa to Alabama to Argentina, music is an important element of culture. By it we define people and countries. Sometimes we enjoy the style, sometimes we would rather not hear it, but most of the time we all agree that music is a wonderful thing. Our lives would be very different and our world a less unified place if we didn't have music. <bio>Rachael Cleipher believes in the power of music to transcend all cultural barriers.
Every time the hands are dealt, a player would always look for winning poker hands. It is the hand that would almost guarantee a win and the pot you could get would only depend upon the way you play it. But, how do you identify the hands that would bring home the gold? Or maybe even a couple more chips?

This would all depend upon the stage or the state of the game or the tournament. In the early part of the part of the game, the goal is to survive the first few blind levels. When the game and tournament progress, that's when it is best to attack and be the aggressor; however for now the main objective is to survive. The hands that you should play in the early part are tight hands. AA, KK, QQ, JJ and AK are the winning poker hands to play in the beginning to be safe and survive to the later part of the tournament. TT and 99 are not as good but are also good bets to play.

When the blinds have increased around four to six times, this is the middle stage of the game. The players should only be around 5 or 6 left. In the middle stage, you would want to start to become aggressive and build a large chip stack in preparation of the later stage and be able to take out the first place. The winning poker hands for this stage of the game are the same as stated for the first part but now you can play suited AQ and unsuited AQ. Suited and unsuited KQ are also hands to play in this stage and any number pairs are good hands.

The later stage is when there are less than 5 people left in the game. This becomes a bit tricky and chip stacks are becoming smaller because of the blinds would be incredibly high. This is why it is important to build up a large stack in the middle part of the game because the pressure of the blinds wouldn't be that big compared to the other players with smaller stacks. Most likely, unless the other players have a big stack of chips they would play passive. In this case, you would want to stay aggressive and keep the pressure on the other players. The winning poker hands for this stage are AA, KK, QQ, JJ, AK, AQ, KQ, JK, JQ, KT, AT, TJ and any other pair cards.

Stay safe and survive for the first part and become the aggressor later on and keep up the pressure. Building up from the beginning would could make a really big difference in the outcome of the game. Be patient and wait for the winning poker hands and you would be able to win games one by one and become a poker champion. Just remember that it is important to keep practicing playing poker. It is essential to practice and gain experience to get the best result out of the winning poker hands.<bio>Tired of always depositing?
Your hands are one of the most used parts of your body second only to your legs. Beautiful and well groomed hands leave a good and fresh impression. Taking care of your hands is imperative; you will need to take the time out to look after your hands. In this article we will discuss the various ways in which you can look after your hands as well as your nails that play an important part in the look of your hands.

You know your hands like, well, the back of your hand- but do you like what you see? Our hands are frequently less attractive than we'd like. Between dry, wrinkly skin and nails that have seen better days, they could really look and feel a lot better. And it isn't that hard to let them. Just a few minutes here and there, and a few handy tips, will keep your hands looking beautiful and feeling great.

With everything we put our hands through, it's no wonder they don't always look their best. They're constantly exposed to the elements, in the sun and in the freezing cold, their skin getting baked and frozen and dried in the open air. And we use them hard, whether we're cleaning, roughing them up on the job, or gardening. Some of this can't be avoided, but a lot of it can, and should.

First, protect your hands when you can. In the summer, they need sunscreen just as much as the rest of you, and in the winter, protect them from the cold that dries them out with gloves and heavy moisturizer. When you wash the dishes, don't soak your hands in the soap along with the dishes- when it dries afterwards, your skin loses some of the moisture that keeps it healthy.

Wear gloves to protect your skin from the soap. And never, ever use heavy cleaning products without gloves, especially products that include bleach. These products can do irreparable damaged to your hands' skin, causing premature wrinkling, and, in extreme cases, even injury. It really pays to take all the precautions necessary to save your hands.

Keep your hands moisturized, whether this means throwing out your old harsh soap and replacing it with one that helps keep your skins moisture in balance, or just getting a good hand moisturizer. To make sure you apply it regularly, have a small bottle that you keep in your purse, as well as one that you take with you to your work. You'll be able to feel the difference.

To truly do your hands justice, you have to keep your nails nicely trimmed and tended. They should all be trimmed down to the same level, and cut into the same shape for the cleanest look. File their edges smooth, to avoid tearing your nails or ruining your favorite sweater with a bad snag. Keep your cuticles under control by soaking them in warm water and pushing them back, to make your nails look longer and healthier. You'll be glad you did, every time you offer a new friend your beautiful, soft hand for a shake.

So take some time out and begin to follow the simple steps towards maintain and beautifying your hands. Once your hands begin to look beautiful you will feel fresh and revitalized, no longer will you feel ashamed of stretching your hand out for a handshake. This time a handshake is all you will need to make a lasting impression.<bio>Debrah Dragon is a writer for Beauty Items, a website about everything beauty-related - beauty tips, beauty salons, beauty products, etc. Debrah is also a featured author at www.ArticleKing.com</bio>

The poker tournament we usually see on TV is the no limit variation of Texas Holdem. It is aptly termed as no limit because a player can bet all his chips during the game play. This form of Texas Holdem is perfect for those who have mastered the game and loves taking high risks, but for those who are still learning the basics of Texas Holdem, it is wise to start with the Low Limit Texas Holdem for practice. Low Limit Texas Holdem is a form of poker which sets a bet limit for each round of the game with the limit ranging anywhere from $2 - $4.

If you want to win in Texas Holdem, you have to take note of three things -- position in relation to the dealer, patience, and power. Choosing a starting hand to play with is the most important decision a poker player must make. It is very bad practice to play too many hands so better avoid doing this. The best strategy is to be patient and wait for the powerful winning hands in Texas Holdem before making your call. Since the player's position also matters, various types of winning hands in Texas Holdem must also be played relatively.

One common mistake that novice poker player makes is holding onto the wrong set of cards instead of folding them. Thus, if you are still learning the ropes in Texas Holdem, it will be well worth it to memorize which are the winning hands in Texas Holdem.

Luck is definitely on your side if you are initially dealt with a pair of Aces, likewise known as pocket rockets, since this is the best possible starting hand. A pair of Kings and a pair of Queens are also great opening hands of Texas Holdem. An Ace and a King of similar suit is also acceptable since you can form the nut flush with ease with these cards. Likewise, an Ace and Queen with the same suit also increases the chances of you being the winner.

Other potential winning hands in Texas Holdem include a Pair of Jacks, a King and Queen of similar suit or otherwise, an Ace and a Jack, a King and a Jack, and an Ace and a Ten. You must remember though that the mentioned best opening hands will have greater chances of winning against these cards, but when played intelligently, these cards can out win the greater hands.

These are just some of the winning hands in Texas Holdem which you can play on. But possessing these hands is not a guarantee of you winning. The game of poker still relies largely on how you manage your cards and analyze your opponent's skill. However, having the mentioned winning hands in Texas Holdem improves your chances of besting other players in the game, just make sure you do not become so obvious in 'telling' so that you will not fall trap to manipulative measures from your opponents and end up losing your precious bankroll.<bio>Sean Moronse is a professional poker player.
Many people abuse their hands every day at work, home and play, but neglect to consider proper daily hand care and nail care. Both men and women should be aware of the stress they put on their hands. Your hands take more abuse than just about any other external part of your body. Maybe your feet work a little more than your hands depending on your job and lifestyle and they need special care, too. But it is quite possible that your hands work harder even than your feet.

At Work

What kind of work do you do? Are you in the health care field where you wash your hands several times in an hour? You are drying out your hands every time you put soap on them. Healing hand care, in the form of hand creams, is essential to preventing painful cracked skin. Do you work outdoors, possibly in construction or landscaping? Protective hand care includes wearing gloves to ensure that your hands aren't harmed by the natural environment you work in and to protect from splinters and thorns.

Do you work with food or with clothing? Nail care should be an important part of your daily regimen as well. Keeping your nails clean and neatly trimmed is healthier and provides better protection against snagging and tearing them. That can be painful!

At Home

Whether you work outside the home or in the home, your hands are exposed to household elements every day that cause stress to the hands and nails. Protective hand care should be used at home as well. Gloves should be worn when working with household chemicals or gardening to protect the hands and nails. Healing hand care lotions should be used after doing dishes or bathing the kids or dog. Excessive soap and water can dry out the hands very quickly.

If you work at home in your office, you are probably doing a lot of typing. This type of work requires nail care to keep your nails trimmed and protect them from cracking or breaking as a result of constantly tapping on the keyboard keys. This will also keep you from making a lot of typos because your nails are too long and hitting the wrong keys. Nail care can actually make you more productive in your job.

At Play

If you enjoy outdoor sports or other outdoor activities, you are exposing your hands to natural elements that can put stress on them. Protective gloves as well as healing hand care lotions and hand creams will do your hands a lot of good. Even if you prefer to play indoors, like at the gym, you need to use protective hand care such as gloves and hand sanitizer.

When you play with your children you won't want your dry, cracked hands or snagged fingernails to scratch them. Healing hand care and nail care can prevent this from happening. With soft hands and well manicured nails, your kids' sensitive skin will thank you for thinking about your hand care and nail care.<bio>Matt Franks is director of Fluid Branding, the UK's largest supplier of Promotional Hand Care and other Promotional Products at www.fluidbranding.com.
As parents work to find effective treatments for autism, many of the usual symptoms their children display will continue. In the majority of cases, this often includes some form of 'stimming'. Stimming is an extremely common autism symptom that includes certain repeated behaviors or movements. These behaviors are self-stimulating and consist of repetitive behaviors that are performed to stimulate the senses. Examples of stimming include clapping, running in circles, humming, or manipulating objects (such as bending straws or ripping paper).

Though stimming behaviors may appear to be unnecessary or even unsuitable to some situations, they're not done to draw attention or to disrupt. Instead, stimming behaviors are often used in order to decrease the stress levels of the child performing them. As autism causes children to react atypically to sensory stimuli, they often use stimming to help to deal with their sensory issues.

Rocking is another kind of stimming behavior that is common among autistic children. Many autistic children feel that rocking back and forth allows them to reestablish a sense of focus when they feel overly sensitive to the stimulus from their surroundings. It can also help with concentration and focus.

Though it is more obvious in autistic children, non-autistic children and adults also participate in forms of stimming. Consider the number of times you've seen someone drumming their fingers, tapping their pencil, fidgeting with paper, or bounced a knee when sitting down. Anxiety tends to worsens these behaviors. Though behaviors such as biting nails or whistling are often done involuntarily, they do help us to keep control over our emotions and calm us down in tense situations. As children with autism usually find stressors in more of the stimuli in their environment, they often 'stim' regularly throughout the day and especially when placed into a new environment.

If you find that your child's level of stimming increases in line with the introduction of new of more frequent treatments there could be a number of reasons for this.

1. They are looking for reassurance as they learn something new
2. The situation is stressful for them so they are retreating to what is familiar -- the stimulatory behavior
3. They don't like the change to their routine that the new or increased frequency of treatment is introducing.
Of course these reasons aren't the only ones. However, the key is to monitor behavior and see if the stimming levels out, increases further or decreases as the treatment program progresses.

It is also important to keep in mind that stimming behaviors can turn into obsessions. When identifying characteristics for treatment for autism, divide your child's stimming into two groups: excitatory and calming.

Stimming that is calming is the kind that helps your autistic child to regain focus when feeling stress or anxiety. On the other hand excitatory stimming sends your child's focus in a negative direction.

An example of excitatory stimming could be when an autistic child gets wound up and instead of smiling and giggling, he or she might start clapping, running, or yelling. This can be detrimental behavior as it encourages behaviors that can be inappropriate and are not conducive for effective learning.

Stimming may also be an attachment to specific objects. Though most small children will often have a favorite toy such as a doll or blanket, in the case of autistic children they may struggle give up their attachment to this object. It may be something that they like to smell, look at, hear, or touch.

Stimming can also take the form of organizing things. For example, an autistic child may self-stimulate by placing things in order, lining them up, or stacking things. This, like other stimming behaviors, can easily become an obsession.

Stimming habits can be very challenging to break as they are often relaxing and enjoyable and provide a coping mechanism for an autistic child. As a parent you will need to decide what stimming behavior is acceptable both in terms of the action itself and frequency. Bear in mind that trying to stop all stimming could be very stressful for your child. So concentrate on the behaviors that are excitory or inappropriate and leave the calming or harmless activities alone.

When considering a treatment for autism for your child, make sure that the doctor or specialist is aware of all of your child's stimming behaviors so that they can be properly addressed. Keep in mind that stimming often differs from one form of autism to the next.<bio>Grab your free copy of Rachel Evans' brand new Autism Newsletter - Overflowing with easy to implement methods to help you and your family find out about effective treatment for autism options.
The most important piece of equipment for a boxer is their boxing gloves. When boxing first started many hundreds of years ago, boxers did not use boxing gloves at all. These boxers were known as gladiators, because they fought with their bare hands, and sometimes these fights ended in death.

However as we became more civilized, we realized that this was too brutal of a way for boxers to fight. At this time boxing gloves were first introduced to help protect a fighter's hands while boxing. These original boxing gloves were called "mufflers", because they "muffled" the blow on the fighter's face and hands. However these gloves were not used during matches at first, but only during training. Conventional boxing gloves were not used until much later, but these initial gloves did help to make strides in the protection of boxers.

Conventional boxing gloves fit over the fighter's entire hand, and about four to five inches up their arms. The gloves are one solid piece of leather over your four fingers, and then there is a place for the thumb. However some states in the United States require the use of boxing gloves without thumbs to help prevent eye injuries. These boxing gloves range in weight from 6 to 12 oz, and the heavier the glove, the harder it is to keep them up, but the bigger the blow can be delivered.

Most fighters will also wrap cloth around their hands before they put their boxing gloves on to give their hands more protection. Boxers will also usually have their trainers tape their boxing gloves around the bottom of their wrist to help keep them in place. Sometimes during a boxing match this tape will come loose and the referee will stop the fight so that the tape can be worked on, so that the boxer's opponent will not get hurt by the loose tape. <bio>For quality boxing gloves, visit http://www.ukboxingstore.co.uk </bio>

I was a US Army solider not too long ago. I just got out in August of 2007. While I was in the Army, we were always looking for high intensity workouts with some work for abs, core, and full body to take our team of soldiers to a new level of fitness in preparation for our PT testing.

Basically, we had reached a plateau in our training and needed something really high intensity to take us to the next level. I'm going to share this workout with you!

Keep in mind that this workout uses bodyweight-only exercises, however, it is VERY intense and for people looking for advanced fitness levels, you should try this out.

With that said, keep in mind that if you're not yet at an advanced level, you can still use this by simply using the basic format of the workout, and just do less of whatever exercises you struggle with, or choose an easier alternate exercise that's similar.

Here goes...

We're going to keep the intensity super high here and use the whole body. Keep rest periods short, and use full-body multi-joint movements as much as possible.

I'll give you a killer workout idea below that not only incorporates abs and entire core, but the entire body as well in an intense fashion. Not sure what (if any) equip you have available, so I'll give you a great workout that's bodyweight based. Here's an example to take you through:

Start with a 2-3 min warm-up of light jogging, jumping jacks, or jump rope.

Then, move through these exercises in circuit fashion, one right after the other with only 10 seconds rest between each (repeat the circuit 3-5 times for a killer total body workout):

1. Bodyweight squats - 12 reps

-Position your feet slightly wider then hip-width apart with your toes slightly turned out.

-Hold your hands out in front of you at shoulder height. This will counter balance your weight and help you keep your balance

-Slowly and under control bend your knees and lower yourself down as far as you can without lifting your heels off the floor and then after a brief pause at the bottom push your weight back up until you are back at the starting position.

2. Plyometric pushups (clapping) - 10 reps

-Lower yourself into the standard push up position.

-Lower yourself to the ground and push up explosively so the hands leave the ground

-Clap once and return to the starting position

3. Walking lunges up 6 steps and back down 6 steps

4. Floor mountain climbers for 30 seconds

-Stand with your arms by your sides, feet together.

-Bend down and put your hands shoulder width apart on the floor.

-Place yourself in the basic push-up position with your arms in line with your chest and your legs extended outward.

-Rest on the balls of your feet while bringing one leg (for this example we'll say left leg) forward to your chest and back to its original position. Keep the right leg tucked during the forward and back movement of the left leg.

-Check to be sure your bent leg and hands carry the weight of your body and that you hold your head up during the back and forth leg movements.

-Repeat the motion described in Step 4 rapidly, alternating one leg forward and one leg back. This movement mimics the "climbing of a mountain."

-Repeat as many times as you can. Remember to inhale and exhale steadily during the entire mountain climber exercise.

5. Lunge jumps - 6 reps to each side

-This jump starts off by standing with your feet next to one another.

-Bend your knees and jump up as high as you can and perform a hip-flexion with one leg and bending the back leg knee.

-Before landing bring the feet next to one another.

-With the next jump up, alternate the legs.

6. Lying leg thrusts (abs) on floor - 12 reps

-Lie on your back.

-Perform a lying leg raise.

-Thrust your heels to the ceiling, breathe out; keep contracting the lower abs so that you are raising your torso.

-Lower out of the thrust back to your initial position, leaving your feet straight up.

- Lower your legs back to the starting position.

7. Squat jumps - 8 reps

-Stand with your legs in a normal squat position.

-Lower your body down so that your thighs are parallel to the ground.

-Explode into the air as high as possible. When you land, lower your body quickly into the parallel squat position.

-Hold this position for one second and repeat for the required number of repetitions.

-Upon landing, your feet should be in a strong, dorsi-flexed or "toes up" position. Use your whole foot to land and generate power, not just your toes! Maintain good posture in your upper body. Keep your chest and head up. Don't let your shoulders lean out beyond your knees. This can stress your lower back.

8. Side plank hold 30 seconds one side, then 30 sec opposite side

-Lift your body of the ground and balance on one forearm and the side of your foot.

-Contract your abdominals and relax your shoulders. And breath.

-No movement, just hold that position ... keep holding.

Rest 2 min after each circuit; repeat circuit 3-5x

This Soldier Workout was brought to you by Perfect Health and Fitness.
Your hands and nails are a major part of your overall look. You can have the best clothes, the best accessories, and the hottest, trendy makeup, but if your hands and nails are not cared for properly, the entire look goes down the drain. Taking care of your nails and hands are important, not only for sanitary reasons, but also for beautification as well. Shinning and healthy nails also reflect your general health as well as personal hygiene. So don't overlook the health of your nails. Follow these simple yet very powerful tips to revitalize your nails.

Here, we will discuss a few of the top secrets to proper and essential hands and nail care. Tips are simple efficient and very effective and don't require much time or effort to do.

Successful Hand and Nail Care Tip #1 -- Wash

The first rule to making sure your hands always look great is to wash them. Washing your hands with the right type of soap can keep your hands clean and healthy looking, not to mention ridding them of harmful bacteria at the same time. Make sure you use a soap that is gentle on the hands, yet tough on dirt. Bar soap works great for cleansing, but it can lead to drier hands.

Successful Hand and Nail Care Tip #2 -- Nail Brush

Nail brushes are essential to keeping your fingernails clean and healthy looking. Be sure that you try to use the nail brush each time you wash your hands. While the brush is cleaning your fingernails, you are also getting a real treat, your fingers will love the feel and so will you.

Successful Hand and Nail Care Tip #3 -- Use Lotions and Hand Creams

Overuse and frequent washing can dry your skin, particularly the hands. Therefore, be sure that you use lotion or hand cream as a follow up to washing your hands. Either one of these products will keep your hand moisturized, eliminating dry skin, as well as keep your hands feeling silky and soft throughout the day. All of this means great looking hands and nails.

Successful Hand and Nail Care Tip #4 -- Avoid Nail Biting

If you are a nail biter, now is the time to take steps to break that habit. Nail biting creates infections, uneven, and ragged nails. In some extreme cases, nail biters can bite their nails down past the skin, which creates and unsightly look. There are many remedies and over the counter products for nail biting that you might want to consider. However there are many natural remedies you can opt for as well.

Successful Hand and Nail Care Tip #5 -- Polish

While this is no real secret, it is our last tip. Keeping your nails polished with your favorite color will always keep your hands and nails looking great. You can paint the nails yourself or treat yourself to a manicure, making sure your cuticles look great, your nails are even and beautiful, and you give yourself a treat at the same time.

Your nails need the same attention that the rest of the body requires. In today's world it is difficult to find the time to really go out and get a professional to work on your nails, so these tips will give you an excellent opportunity to save time and money while looking after your nails. So the next time you look at your nails you will find them smiling back at you, thanking your for the care and affection that you give them.<bio>Debrah Dragon is a writer for Beauty Items, a website about everything beauty-related - beauty tips, beauty salons Las Vegas, beauty supply, etc. Debrah is also a featured author at www.ArticleKing.com</bio>

Kids, teens and even adults enjoy this type of sport. The good thing about roller skates is that no specific season is needed for these people to go out and practice some tricks. This is part of the fun that people are getting from this kind of sport.

But then, fun is not only what roller skates are known for. Roller skating is one dangerous sport. This is especially if you do not have the right expertise and the proper moves. Over the years, there have been a lot of accidents related to roller skates.

This is the reason why you will find a lot of roller skates advices and tips whether online and offline. There are also signs scattered where people will get to read about the hazards and the precautions that are needed when roller skating.

Below are some of the age-old safety advices that you should keep in mind before whisking off in your roller skates:

Skate with protection.

Roller skates come with protective gears. When initially buying these skates, you are given a choice of protective gears to buy. Some of these are knee pads and helmets.

When the store you bought your roller skates from start offering you this things, do not think that they are trying to make more sales out of you. They are only after your protection.

Going downhill with not enough expertise.

The trouble with skaters is that they want to try out something new and dangerous. That is why there are always on the lookout for more challenging. The ultimate challenge for them is to try skating downhill.

Once their mind is set up, they would then try and attempt the downhill challenge without even thinking that they are not yet ready for it. It would be later on when they will discover that they still lack practice and the expertise for that obstacle. This can result to injuries and even death.

Know how to stop.

You may look and play the part but that is not it. The normal tendency for most skaters is to keep on going and going. It is an ego-booster seeing your friends cheering and clapping you endlessly because you are skating on full speed.

That is not the problem. The problem is when it is time for you to stop and you cannot seem to do it. Considering the speed that you are going, it is not surprising that you need the best brake and the proper execution to be able to stop fully and safely.

Keep these roller skates safety advices and you will get to see how amazing you can be while still in one piece. <bio>Roller skating is great fun, and is definitely not a thing of the past, during the last years rollers have been enjoying a huge comeback, learn more about Roller Skates, skating and roller blades at http://skates.zupatips.com </bio>

Looking after your hands may sound simple, however most people do not bother spending that extra little bit of time required for taking care of them. Usually people associate cracked, dry hands with wintertime; however, the problems can appear at any time of year, even if they are more vulnerable in winter.

Prevention is the Best Cure

Preventing your hands from becoming dry or sore, is by far the best way to protect them. Many hand conditions are hard to treat once you have them. Conditions such as Psoriasis, Eczema, and contact dermatitis, are really uncomfortable and they can take a long time to get rid of. You really will know about it if you end up with a condition similar to those ones!

Dry hands are often the main cause of hand problems. The best way to defeat it is to moisturize daily, sometimes even twice a day. The causes of dryness usually include washing up liquid, detergents and chemicals which are found in most household cleaners and even over washing them can cause them to become dry. Many occupations cause a persons hands to dry up, such as jobs which involve tearing up cardboard on a daily basis, even handling flowers can make your hands dry up. So, if you know you have a job which puts your hands under constant pressure, make sure you take care of them by moisturizing them as often as possible.

If you constantly do the dishes at home, why not ask somebody else in the household to take over? Maybe your children or your husband/boyfriend can do them a couple of times a week? This will cut down the risk of water exposure, and will therefore keep your hands softer. If you do not have a kind and generous family however, you should always wear protective kitchen gloves. Many people recommend putting moisturizer on your hands before putting the gloves on, that way the heat soaks the moisturizer more into the hands.

What Are The Best Moisturization Products to Go For?

Depending upon which hand condition you actually have, you will need different moisturizers for each one. Usually, moisturizers contain exfoliating ingredients which really help with dry, scaly conditions such as dermatitis. Others are called humectants which hold more than their weight in water, within the skin.

If you have an open wound, you do not want to use an active moisturizer, as it will really sting. However, if you are suffering from thick, dry and cracked skin, an active moisturizer is definitely for you! Always remember to apply a moisturizer after washing your hands and doing the dishes.

Other forms of moisturizers include ingredients such as Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid. They really help to soften the skin and to exfoliate hard, epidermis. Urea is another ingredient used, and that is a humectant which really does help to hydrate the skin. Many people use products with urea in them, in the bath, and that can really help to protect the skin and leave it soft and smooth feeling. You can even combine all three of the ingredients to create an ultimate moisturizer for the body.

Some Common Problems Which Could Occur

If you do not protect your hands there are several problems which can occur. Blisters and cracked finger tips can both be really painful. Our fingertips have the most nerves in them in the hand, and so if you do end up with cracked fingertips, it can be incredibly painful.

Blisters also can be a problem and they are a sign of increased inflammation. This often makes them really itchy, and they end up splitting which again, is really painful.

Other conditions you may end up with include Eczema, and Psoriasis as mentioned earlier. Getting rid of these problems can be a nightmare so it really is in your best interests to prevent any of them from occurring in the first place.

It really does not take long to protect our hands and it does not have to be overly expensive. Just a few minutes each day and you could protect your hands from a variety of different problems. <bio>Keep yourself looking great with these skin care tips from http://www.NaturalElements.co.uk You can now get the very latest information on Hand Care by subscribing with RSS </bio>

Many individuals would rather wear nothing on their hands when performing simple gardening activities. Of course this is fine if these activities are just that - simple. Watering plants in your garden could surely be considered one of these activities and most people would agree that gloves are unnecessary for such a task. However if an individual is heavily into gardening and is much more hands-on than simply watering, gloves may become an essential.

While there are many tools one can use to spread mulch, dig up and transplant flowers, weed and other such gardening activities, most people habitually to use their hands. Protection is then a major issue for many people performing such tasks. Shielding your hands from thorns and prickers and protecting them from getting wet, cold and uncomfortable should be your foremost concern especially if you toil in your garden on a regular basis.

There are a number of gloves on the market ideal for gardening which you can choose from. Be aware that there are just as many types of gloves available that are simply inadequate for the passionate gardener. Such gloves as those made of just cotton or some cotton/leather variant may be cheap, easily obtainable and sufficient for some gardening activities, but are simply not that durable and barely, if at all, protect the hands from getting wet. Protection from such things as poison ivy is also lacking with these gloves. Perhaps the best glove out there for gardening is the spandex/lycra composite, which not only protects against all the aforementioned afflictions, but is also quite convenient.

For those of you who would rather not wear gloves when gardening, recently a product has become available that is simply a silicon spray-on sealant that offers up many of the same benefits as the abovementioned composite gloves. This glove, like the others, also shelters the hands from dirt. <bio>If you need Gardening information or have articles to distribute on Gardening issues, visit our Free Gardening Articles section at: http://www.reprint-content.com/Category/Gardening/56 http://www.reprint-content.com free distribution for authors, free content for webmasters. </bio>

Lets assume that you are a pretty good magician and have developed a great personality to use when performing a magic act for children's parties. If you haven't yet devolved a personality, stop here and go create one.

Watch some of the great children's magicians and learn from them what kind of personality you need to create.

The old second hand tux and a top hat no longer will work. Children are pretty savvy these days... even the little ones.

Children don't understand the cues in a live performance that are so common. Today's kids have been raised in the age of television. Not a bad thing, except the laugh tracks tell the children when to laugh.

No laugh tracks and the children are left out in the cold. They are quick and will get up to speed in no time. But they need your help.

The same problem exists with applause. Children are not used to clapping. They don't understand applause cues. Those wonderfully timed applause cues will leave you and your audience with a lot of uncomfortable silence.

What can be done?

Everything.

One of your most important tasks as a children's magician is your opening. The beginning of your show must do these things:

1.Establish audience control..... Even in school children are taught to obey those in authority. For some reason, many magicians forget to establish authority early in the show. The result resembles a saloon brawl in the wild west.

2.Teach the children to react to applause cues. After you welcome everyone to the show, look out over the audience and say, "This looks like a really great crowd. Let's see how loud you can clap. On the count of three ONE. . . TWO . . THREE . ..Not bad!

Let's try it again. On three . . ." After some byplay conclude by saying, "What do we do when we like the magic? (pause) What do we do when we LOVE the magic?" (pause and react strongly to the crowd).

If you want to start your career in magic as a children's magician, think about it seriously. Kids are brutally honest. There is nothing tougher or more satisfying than have a great children's magic show.

Being a children's magician may not be the easiest way to become a part-time professional magician but it sure is a lot of fun. <bio>For more information on magic tricks be sure to visit http://www.magic.web-sitings.com where you will find advice and tips on everything from, magic tricks, card tricks, perfoming magic and how you can start dazzling your audiences. </bio>
