Youth Groups are almost always in need of funds. Holding fundraisers to finance important trips like tournaments, museums, and musical events are just some of the needs that have to be met through fundraising. Others include the need for uniforms, sports equipment, art supplies, musical instruments, and more.

There are a lot of different ways your youth group can raise the funds they need. In this article, I will explore some of those with you and try to help you avoid some of the pitfalls. I will let you benefit from my experience and I will help you avoid some of my mistakes.

Let's start right off with candy. I have tried to use candy as a fundraising tool on more than one occasion for more than one youth group.

Pros and Cons of using candy as a youth group fundraiser.

Pros: Candy is cheap and can be sold for a great profit for your youth group. Everyone likes candy, so it's a fairly easy sale, especially if you go with name brand candy. The candy is cheap enough that most people have enough money in their pocket to purchase it.

Cons: Candy melts. Trust me on this. Candy melts and when it does, your profits melt with it as you try to clean whatever it melted all over. The members of your youth group eat Candy and when the parents have to pay for all the candy YOU let their child eat, you get phone calls. Trust me on this. You get a lot of phone calls. Candy smells. Trust me on this. Wherever you store the candy will smell like candy forever. Bigger children steal candy from smaller children and again parents end up paying for the candy and you get the phone calls.

Coupon Books are another commonly used Youth Group Fundraiser.

Pros: Some coupon books are filled with free stuff and everyone loves free stuff! Your youth group can raise as much as $10 per coupon book so they need to make less sales to reach their goals.

Cons: Everyone still has last year's coupon book. None of the coupons have been used. They never have it with them whenever they go somewhere they might have been able to use it for. I have been to a door to sell coupon books and had a guy hand me 7 unused coupon books as his donation. He said if I resold those, I would be able to raise more money than if he just bought one again this year. Coupons expire. They usually have a cost of about $10 to $15 per book, but of course the children in YOUR youth group will never lose any of them and their parents won't be calling YOU, like with the candy.

Basically, every fundraiser your youth group takes on will come with responsibility and they all have their pros and cons. However, if you look for a product that has the following features, I believe you will have a more successful fundraising opportunity for your youth group.

1. Choose products that do not melt, expire, rot, or otherwise perish.

2. Choose products that do not have a large cost per unit, no matter what the profit.

3. Choose products that everyone uses and will get a lot of uses from. Something they will remember being very useful will get them to continue supporting your youth group.

4. Choose products that do not require a lot of storage space.

5. Choose products that are popular like things with the donor's favorite major league baseball or football team logo on them.

If you follow those simple rules, your youth group fundraiser will be easy to manage, you won't end up stuck with a lot of leftover product to store, your storage area won't smell, you won't need to clean up messes, and best of all, the parents of your youth group participants won't be calling you. <bio>D.
Remember those long, hot days of summer vacation without much to do? Hanging out with friends was a blast for a while, but before too long, things got a little boring. Why have your kids endure the same monotony when summer youth camps can pack in the fun?

Today's summer youth camps offer a lot more excitement than they did in the past. These camps aren't just for fishing, hiking, boating and team volleyball anymore. The reality is the number of specialty camps for youth is on the rise. There's something out there for just about anyone to enjoy.

Summer camps offer two basic overall styles, but are broken down into special interests from there. The main styles for these camps are:

* Overnight. Whether these camp run for a week, two weeks or the entire summer, these venues are a little more costly because they provide around-the-clock care. In addition, they tend to offer an array of activities for youth, as well. These camps are favored by many for their ability to let kids get away from it all while giving mom and dad a bit of a break, too.

* Day camps. These camps offer daytime programming only. They tend to run in weekly or two-week increments, but can also span an entire summer. The fees for these camps are a little more in reach for most, generally. The perk with these is that kids return home every night ready to share their stories of adventure and often learning.

While most summer youth camps follow the above patterns for overall style, they come in a variety of special interests. This means just about any child is likely to find there is a camp out there that is ideal. Some of the options for these types of camps include:

* Wilderness. These are the camps many remember from their youth. Set up in cabins or even with tents, this type of setting is designed to help kids get back to nature, while having some fun and adventure along the way.

* Band. Designed to help youth further their musical abilities, these camps tend to offer pretty focused study on instruments, but they also provide some of the fun of wilderness camps, or can.

* Arts camps. Similar to the band camp format, these venues will focus in on visual or performing arts. Many offer a lot of the outdoors fun of regular summer camps, as well.

* Sports camps. Athletes looking to hone their skills will find there are a variety of these available. Whether they're for field hockey, football or track and field, these camps will either focus in on one particular sport, or they will offer a variety for participants to choose from.

* Church, community. These camps are typically hosted right in a child's own hometown. They can follow an overnight or daytime only format. Activities here range from organized sports and field trips to even religious lessons (in the case of church camps), swimming, hiking and more.

Summer youth camps are not one-size-fits-all propositions any more. There are camps out there to meet just about any personal need or taste. <bio>Still looking for the perfect summer camp?
Today with all the moral and spiritual corruption that takes place in our day and age, it is more imperative now than ever to make sure that our kids are spending their time among good moral and Christian influences. This way, they will not be exposed to the influences of many of their supposedly friends who do not live their lives in accordance to the teachings of Jesus Christ. A great way to insure that they do what is right is to get them to join Christian youth groups. These Christian youth groups will make sure that they are participate in responsible and educational opportunities after school instead of falling into trouble.

Though it took some time, my son Billie loves his Christian youth group. Today, they have a get-together with a bunch of other Christian youth groups in a fellowship camp way out in the country. His dad has come along as a chaperon, as have several of the other dads and moms from the Christian youth groups to make sure that everything goes safely and responsibly. Though I do not venture outdoors too often as compared to the rest of the family, I in reality almost wish that I was going. It will be so much fun for him, with exciting activities like fishing, boating, swimming, soccer, and of course sharing the word of God with the members of other Christian youth groups in joyous fellowship.

Normally when he is surfing the internet, I encourage him to interact with online Christian youth groups. Though he doesn't like these as much, but there are many advantages to them. Not only can he talk this way to Christians all over the country, but also all over the world. He can discover about projects going on in less fortunate areas to bring food, shelter, and the word of God to those who are suffering. Most important of all, he can keep away from some of the temptation of the internet that we can not always protect him from by using his computer time in a fun and morally responsible way -- with other kids from Christian youth groups.

The best thing about Christian youth groups is that they give him something to do that doesn't involve peer pressure. My Billie is a good strong kid, and perhaps he could stand firm against the lure of drugs and alcohol, but he really shouldn't have to even be exposed to those kinds of influences, to say nothing of the other temptations that kids in their teens face. With Christian youth groups, he sure doesn't have to! <bio>Linda E.
1. Do whatever it takes to get teens to heaven. Paul wrote that he became all things to all people so that some might be saved (II Corinthians 9:19-23). How well does this relate to your ministry? What could you be doing that might reach more teens in your schools and community?

Ministry has its own set of pressures. We have to worry about what the leaders, parents, and members will think about a program or event. By doing whatever it takes to get teens to heaven, you will endure your share of criticism about your approaches, but keep the goal in focus. Keep everyone involved aware that you are not using a certain technique just to be different, but to bring teens to Jesus.

2. Help teens develop a personal relationship with God. While second-hand faith is better than no faith, there's no doubt that first-hand faith wins the prize. Help teens develop a faith that says, "I believe in God, not because my parents say so, or because my youth minister or preacher says so, but because I have experienced and know God in my life."

3. Involve teens in daily Bible study and prayer. Instead of simply asking your group to read the Bible and pray daily, provide the opportunity and tools to make it possible. Develop a daily Bible reading schedule for your teens. Supply information on Bibles designed for youth so they can get a grip on the Word in a way relevant to them.

Form prayer groups of three that meet at school, or that call each other daily for prayer requests. Challenge your group to pray before getting out of bed and before going to sleep. Have teens set their watch alarms for a certain time each day to signal prayer time. Create as many tools as needed to get them into the Bible and prayer on a daily basis.

4. Build a Christ-like attitude and spirit into the youth group. "Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus," Philippians 2:5. This means more than just asking, "What would Jesus do?" It calls for a clear-cut lifestyle of surrender. What is the attitude of Jesus?

Attitude of a Servant (v. 7)

Attitude of Humility (v. 8)

Attitude of Obedience (v. 8)

If every teen becomes a servant, how many things will get done? If every teen becomes humble, how much arguing will take place? If every teen becomes obedient to God, how much better could the youth conventions be? Of course, developing a Christ-like attitude in your group begins by displaying a Christ-like attitude in your life.

5. Develop quality leadership among the group. Jesus called His followers with, "Follow me." By the end of His ministry He had trained them to lead. Paul even said, "Imitate me as I imitate Christ" (I Corinthians 11:1). Give your teens the responsibility and let them lead. Dust them off when they fall down and encourage them to keep going.

Here are a few ways you can let teens lead: Devotionals, teaching class, heading up a service project, forming prayer groups, etc.

6. Parental support and participation. Believe it or not, There are some in your congregation who see youth ministry as a divider of parents and their children. Prevent this by creating a high level of parental involvement.

Have your parents teach for a quarter, host devotionals in their homes, chaperone trips, etc. Check out Group Publishing's 130 Ways to Involve Parents in Your Ministry for more great ideas.

7. Develop evangelistic teens. Redirect the vision of your group by training them to see each classmate, each neighbor, each family member, each clerk, each waiter, just fill in the blank, each ____________ as an opportunity to share the Lord.

Jesus left the message in our mouths and lives. Help your group become evangelistic by creating an atmosphere that makes guests want to return. Go out to the school campus and meet kids on their turf. Be available, open and loving.

8. Establish positive relationships with other youth groups in the area. If we are not careful ministry can become a competition where the leader with the most teens wins. Because of that, we may be afraid to do things with other groups for fear that our teens might spot something "cooler" than what we provide. Don't forget #4 and build a Christ-like attitude by doing things with other groups like retreats or prayer nights. One of the easiest ways to establish positive relationships is by participating together in community events such as the March for Jesus, or collecting food and toys for needy families during the holidays.

9. Include teens as part of the congregation. Have you ever felt the perception that there is the church, and then there is the youth group? Integrate the group into the congregation by getting the teens involved in praying, scripture reading, or whatever format your church follows. Most churches let teens participate on youth days. But encourage your leadership to include teens on a regular basis, not just special days.

10. Equip teens to go into all the world and teach the Gospel. While every teen has the responsibility to evangelize around them, a few feel the call to literally go into all the world. Prepare them for that future by encouraging and praying for him or her. Help sponsor teens on a yearly mission trip to gain experience. Provide contacts through special mission organizations to get teens involved. Who knows how many will come to know the Lord as a result of your ministry. About The Author: Paul Evans is the co-founder of Teen Life Ministries. If you work with youth go to http://www.teenlifeministries.com/thezone and join youth workers from around the globe in their quest to reach teens for Christ.

If you really want to make a difference in the lives of youngsters, one must try coaching youth basketball. Well I gave it a shot, and boy am I excited about the whole thing. There are several places that will teach you how to coach youth basketball, from charities to workshops to who knows what else. My experience with youth basketball coaching begins for over a year now, and there has never been a more fulfilling experience in my life thus far. However don't take my word alone for it, cause you should give youth basketball coaching a try to believe it.

The wonderful thing about youth basketball coaching is you can with minimal experience or background in sports, be the one to keep children away from harmful and dangerous influences in their lives. It is a creepy world out there with crime, drugs, and all manner of other temptations which plague our youth nowadays. Why, when I was a kid, we did not even know what drugs were. But nonetheless, using youth basketball coaching especially when working with a good, well organized community center, you can help out kids to say no to crime, drugs, and any other bad or destructive influences in their lives. You have to see it to believe it. The difference it makes is amazing.

At times I do not understand why my work with youth basketball coaching has helped so much for kids, but they have recounted all about it themselves. It is a fact. I have a kid -- Mikey who signed up about when I started youth basketball coaching. Prior to joining the team, Mikey was bad news. His mother had a drug problem and he was getting drugs himself. Besides his friends was a very bad influence on him. I first decided to sign up for youth basketball coaching especially because of kids like Mikey.

I really didn't understand much about youth basketball coaching when I first got into it. Neither did I have any training. I just watched a couple of youth basketball coaching videos, and hustle to prepare for my first day as a coach. But boy was it worth it. I packed in all of those coaching aids, and soon I was directing the team like a pro. Now that I am an expert at youth basketball coaching, I'll tell you a secret. With youth basketball coaching, it does not matter where you begin, as long as you persist. <bio>Mike F.
Many people have studied the Bible. It is considered one of the most ancient and respected books on earth. The Bible is used by Christians of many denominations. There are several different versions of the Bible, with one of the most popular being the King James Version of the Bible.

You can study the entire Bible in a year by dedicating some free evening or morning time to this project. Most people read the Bible as it is presented chronologically. For those new to Bible study, getting a Bible study workbook can be quite useful as this will suggest passages of the Bible you may wish to reflect on and ways to organize your study. Some who have attended church for a long time or those who have studied the Bible in the past may be more confident with self-study methods. By simply reading a page or two of the Bible each night, you will work your way through the Bible most often in a calendar year.

Some that decide to study the Bible may be surprised to learn that an excellent tool to add to your study methods is by actually writing in your own Bible. Adding your own personal notes about sermons, passages that have inspired you or even meditations on Bible quotes can only deepen your learning experience. The Bible is a book that you can study again and again. Many that take up Bible study choose to study it year after year, learning something new about passages they have re-read for years as their knowledge and understanding increases.

Taking a Bible study class can also be quite useful. Your church or town may offer a Bible study class. Sometimes if your church does not offer one, it can be an excellent idea to volunteer to start one. Usually you are not the only one in your church congregation studying the Bible. Other church members would likely welcome the company of a group to study the Bible. Your priest or minister could lead the group, or you could be a self-led group run by church volunteers. Bible study classes are a great way to encourage learners at different rates as everyone has something valuable to offer.

Each church member comes to the Bible with different personal experiences and a unique perspective. Some may have studied the Bible for years and others may be very new to this experience. The richness of this type of group can be a valuable experience for everyone. Even those who have studied for years can learn something from the fresh viewpoint of someone who is new to Bible study.

No matter your personal beliefs or perspective, Bible study will offer you a world of its very own. This ancient book has been studied by scholars, priests and people from all walks of life. There are passages in the Bible that can be adapted to modern day concerns of every kind: from environmental concerns, adultery, cheating on your taxes, pre-teen dating, premarital intercourse and drug addiction. The Bible offers great wisdom and a unique perspective on the world unlike any other: it is the word of God.<bio>If you want to meet Christians who share the same interest as you please visit our Christian social networking community.</bio>

Church furnishing can create the atmosphere you desire the most in your particular house of worship. Carefully choosing what will work best for you and your congregation can make your church comfortable and homey, fancy and ornate, or any combination of the two. You can go with classic, simple styling or look for an old-fashioned motif, or design your church to look contemporary or bold. Whatever church furnishings you want to choose for your particular church, you have a few options available to you on how to buy altars, pews, communion tables, kneeler's, pulpits, and whatever else your church might need.

The first option is to look for used church furniture. Sometimes, churches will close down, and if they do, they typically want to sell their church furnishings. Obviously, buying your church's furniture from another church that has already paid the retail price can save you and your parishioners money. Sometimes, though, there may not be any church closings scheduled in your area, so that option would not be available to you. If not, there is no need to fear.

Just like when you want to buy anything else, you can always go online to search for your church furniture. You can find both used and new church furnishings online. Simply type used church furniture in the search line to get to online sites that have used furniture to sell. Thousands of hits will likely pop up for you. If you don't like the idea of using used furniture, you can always type new church furniture into the search line and get a multitude of online stores pop up right in front of your eyes.

All churches need somewhere for the congregation to sit, and you can choose individual seating or group seating in the form of pews. Individual chairs can be wooden, which is probably the most popular, but there are other options available as well. The chairs can come with cushioned seat bottoms or just wood. You can choose to have arm rests on all of your chairs or just on the chairs near the aisle or no arm rests at all. The options are multitudinous. The same is true if you prefer pew seating. Some pews are all wood, and some have red or green or tan cushioning for comfort. You can choose plain pews or look for some that have intricate details.

Altars, too come in a variety of styles, sizes, and prices. Some churches like a simple altar, while others prefer fancy altars. If your church uses any special items like incense burners or oils, you may want to look for an altar that has special compartments built in to house these types of items. You may want your altar to match your pews, or you may decide that your altar should stand out and be made of a different material than your pews. For example, you may choose wooden seating and a marble altar.

Most churches need a pulpit of some sort as well, and those can be as plain and simple or as intricate and ornate as your church prefers. You can find pulpits made of light or dark wood, covered with angels and doves, or made of metal and Plexiglas. Whatever would best suit your church's budget and preferences can be found online.

If you are not furnishing a brand new church, but rather are updating your preexisting church, you can sometimes trade in your old church furniture, much like you trade in your old car when you buy a new one. In that case, you could get more for your dollar, and you might choose to keep some of the old furniture and replace only certain church furnishings. If you choose to purchase used church furniture, you could also choose to refurbish or upgrade what you buy and add your own unique touch to what you buy for a small cost. That is an option that you might prefer so your church feels like yours rather than someone else's.

No matter what size your church is, it needs to be furnished, and like almost anything else, you can likely get everything you need via online stores. Just sit down at your desk, in the comfort of your house or office, and search for what you need. Browse until you find just exactly what suits your church's personality and funding. The sooner you begin what can seem like a daunting task, the sooner you will have a place for your congregation to sit and a place from which to deliver your sermons or homilies.<bio>Seomul Evans is a seo copywriter for a leading Church Furniture manufacturer specializing in affordable Church Furniture.</bio>

Recently a friend and I were discussing our thoughts about parenting. He and I share many common ideas and values, but there was one glaring difference in our styles -- church membership. He just could not understand why I felt it important to raise my child in a church community. He was not questioning why I wanted my child to have faith in God, but he could not see how belong to a church family could be an important parenting resource.

I explained to Tom that there are actually five reasons why I believe it is important to raise my son in a church community.

First is, of course, the issue of faith. I want my child to have a strong faith in God because I know that faith will provide the comfort, solace, and inspiration to carry him through the joys and tribulations that are in store for him as a human. I know this from my own personal experience as well as countless studies which have shown that people with faith in a higher being live longer, happier, and more fulfilling lives.

Belonging to a church is more than simply attending services on Sundays. It is about becoming a member of that community and that is a very important factor in my decision for my child. His friends are children he has known his entire life and his teachers and caregivers are adults and teenagers we have known for years. We have history and connections that brings us together for fun and fellowship as well as to share troubles and celebrate joys.

Every child needs a variety of role models to help decide what person they will become. I cannot think of a better place to find a wide range of role models than in a church. I know there are many people that I look up to among our congregation and I am sure that my son has many as well.

Regularly attending church and Sunday School as well as participating in the church community provides a child with many important guidelines for being a good person as well as a good Christian. Learning the Golden Rule, the 10 Commandments, and Bible lessons are all an important part of that. Children also learn from watching others and following that example. If they see their parents and other adults giving of their time, love, and money then they will be more giving as well.

Finally, I find Church teaches my child a lot about social relationships. He has a group of peers that he has known since infancy and will grow to adulthood with but he also enjoys a spread of generations and knows and loves people of many ages and backgrounds that he likely would not know if not for church. Simply by raising my child in a church I have given him a number of social connections that I hope will help learn and grow to be a man I can be proud of.

These five reasons are all powerful motivations for raising your child in a church community, but there is one other important factor as well. Attending church, and church community activities, is something that you can do together as a family. Step off the hectic whirl of day-to-day life and into a community of faith. <bio>Deanna Mascle writes about other family issues in her Family Life blog at http://OfficialFamily.us </bio>

College Pride was founded in 1997. The aim of the College Pride organisation is to enhance college counselling for gay youth. College Pride also promotes awareness of issues affecting gay youth in colleges, universities and other higher education establishments across the United States.

Advising individual institutions about the concerns of gay youths gives College Pride the ability to target specific issues that relate to a particular college and address ways to deal with matters that arise that are perhaps unique to that school. College Pride also produces articles and makes presentations to education professionals across America to make them aware of the tremendous challenges that gay youth have and offer solutions to help give advice to those attending the college.

The number of 'gay friendly' colleges and universities in America has grown substantially as a result of College Pride and the work of their members. A large number of schools have their own college pride group that offers emotional support as well as a social environment for gay youth attending the college.

The College Pride staffs are members of the National Association for College Admission Counselling and actively support the work of the Human Rights Campaign and the many other organisations making a difference in the lives of gay youth. College Pride also work closely with gay youth organisations from around the world to exchange ideas and help strengthen the international gay youth friendship movement.

The mission of College Pride is to help gay youth to deal with the problems facing them as they decide to attend college. Often the gay student has suffered immensely from intolerance, rejection or even violence from people before college and College Pride want to ensure that the same does not continue once they begin their college course. Through education and support, College Pride is taking the fear out of attending college for more and more gay youth of America and bringing a higher level of understanding and acceptance from the non-gay students and educational professionals.

There will always be areas of America that are less accepting of gays or lesbians but College Pride is making huge inroads into changing the perception of many people who misunderstand the difficulties that being a gay youth can bring and helping bridge the gap between gays and non-gays countrywide. College life can be hard enough without the prejudice that many gay youth encounter but now college Pride is making it more possible for gay and lesbian students to start afresh at college and be accepted for who they are. <bio>Excellence In Academic Endeavors Is Not A Talent That A Person Is Born With.
Everywhere I look now there seems to be a new fad diet going around and the list is always never ending. Just recently though I came across a diet that at first I just mistook for a new fad diet but which in truth was a diet that had been around for sometime. It's one of those religious diets and relies on many things to help you through the times when you're on your diet.

Each of these religious diets is slightly different but most have one thing in common, and that's the power of your own belief, and a great church support group. If you're looking into religious diets you won't have far to look as there are many books that are proliferating the diet markets. To get information though all you need to do is ask a church member.

Around the world, religious diets can mean many things to many people. For the Hindus their religious diets forbids them from eating meat, especially beef. In India the cow is a sacred beast and is treated as such by all.

For the Muslims during the month of Ramadan they go on a strict fasting diet. They're not allowed to eat or drink anything during the daylight hours for the whole month. Without a steadfast faith they could not do this.

The same applies to those of the Christian faith, although it's sad to say that any interested third party would only notice a growing number of Christian diet books, and a lagging number of actual drops in waistlines. This is not to say that we have less faith, but that our church food tables are laden more with fat-inducing foods than the healthier option foods.

I know a friend of mine gained 10 pounds within a few months after starting a regular church attendance. However, with the help of our church group and much personal prayer on her part she was able to drop those extra 10 pounds.

There is something in the religious diets but only if you believe. You need to have faith in yourself, in God, and in the power of prayer. If you read any of the books that are currently on the market you can get a good insight into what religious diets will entail for you. When you start on your religious diets remember to always have faith in yourself, and if you falter remember to always have faith in the power of prayer. Having faith in the power of God will only enhance this and make your dieting tribulations easier. Have faith all will work out well in the end. <bio>Author's sites: http://www.easyhomeremedy.com , http://www.myanxietyguide.com , http://www.home-remedies-for-heartburn.com </bio>

You only want the best for your child when it comes to archery equipment. Often, selecting the perfect youth bows can be difficult if you do not know how to go about it. Here is a step by step guide on what you need to check.

Measure draw length

You can easily estimate the draw length needed for your child by measuring their arm span's length. Then, once you have this measurement, simply convert it into inch format. This number will then need to be divided by 2.5 in order to arrive at the appropriate draw length for your child's youth bows.

Length of the bow

Next, you need to consider which is the best length of youth bows for your child. Most experts are of the opinion that any length between 31 to 41 inches is best suited for children. However, at the end of the day, it is your child who needs to feel comfortable with his or her youth bows and so measuring and trying out different lengths is advisable.

Estimating draw weight

You will also need to measure the draw weightage of your youth bows. The following estimate formula will help you measure this well. However, one aspect to remember is that all youth bows are not suited for the same child. Each child is unique and different in their own way, each having their own muscle mass and strength. If your child is between 55 to 70 pounds in weight then a draw weight of around 10 to 15 pounds should be fine. If your child weighs between 70 to 100 pounds then a draw weight of 15 to 25 pounds on the youth bows should be fine. If your child weighs between 100 to 130 pounds then a typical draw weight of 25 to 35 pounds is needed on the youth bows you plan on buying.

Twin cams are a good idea

If your child is just starting out with archery then it might be a good idea to opt for twin cam type youth bows. These offer more support and flexibility.

Brace height measurement

You will also need to measure the appropriate brace height of your youth bows. Usually, a brace height of 7 inches is the best choice. Brace height refers to the distance between the string to the center grip of the youth bows.

Estimating let off

Let off refers to the draw weight which your child will hold when at complete draw. Typically for youth bows, the best bet is to opt for a 75% drawing weight. However, it is a good idea to find out about the hunting laws in your state. In certain states of the US, only around 65% of let off is allowed. In some situations like trophy hunting, a lesser let off might be allowed in certain states. So, pick your youth bows after ascertaining these conditions.

Don't go by brand alone

Many parents considering to buy youth bows think only brand names matter the most. However, if you go by expert opinion then brands are not the only reason to go by. You need to consider aspects such as draw length, axle to other axle length, let off factors as well as brace height to come to a correct conclusion on which youth bows are perfect for your child. Many top brands may not have the proper brace height or let off that is applicable for your child or state laws.

Budget considerations

You will also need to zero in on your youth bows depending on the budget you have allocated.
A revered institution like church commands the general faith of the people and is widely looked upon with utmost respect. The faith of the people is what keeps the church performing its religious and secular welfare functions. Naturally, these activities need funds, which is provided by the Christians living world over. The contributions to the church run into billions of dollars. Since, it is the money of the people; the church is duty bound to account for it. It needs to keep track of where the money came from and where it went.

Given the size and ambit of church's financial transactions, it is quite obvious that the institution would need a large force of skilled financial experts to manage its accounts, which could be very taxing on the church in terms of money and time both.

The answer to it is the church accounting software, which is designed by accounting experts in order to assist the church in managing its finances. Being well acquainted with the specific needs of the church, these accounting software engineers make sure that the software is tailored to fit the particular requirements of a religious institution.

The software is different from other accounting software. All the ordinary software are made to suit modern business needs. But a church accounting software focuses on the necessities of an institution that has no financial interest or ambition. Besides, church is not a tax paying entity, which makes its resources and expenditures take an altogether different curve. In addition to this, it also has multiple income and expenditure account heads. An accounting software designed for church meets all these needs and leaves enough room for it to be customized in accordance with the changing needs of church.

A comprehensive accounting software can be of great help in creating statements of accounts, budget reports and balance sheets besides, of course, printing checks, maintaining invoices and records of purchases.

However, before a church accounting software is purchased the various features offered must be carefully examined and care should be taken that the software is flexible enough to respond to the changing needs of church. <bio>The author writes about a number of different topics.
How does a person become Catholic? The short answer is to contact the local Catholic Church in their community and ask to speak with the RCIA director or the Adult Education Dept. They will explain the process and periods. The process can take about a year unless you have some type of issue that will not allow you to complete your sacraments. Those type impediments would be former marriages that need to be annulled, use of birth control and co-habitation. Additionally if you have a strong background and understanding in another faith, it may not take as long. Along the way you will hear the word Journey and that.s what the conversion to the Catholic Church will be, a spiritual journey.

So what is RCIA and what is involved with that process? First, RCIA stands for the Rite of Christian initiation of Adults. The year is divided into several parts and each person who are first known as inquiries, will travel though these periods. The Pre-Catechumenate is the first stage. It.s also known as the Period of Inquiry.
Once you have decided to proceed, you will go through3 other periods. They are the Catechumenate, Purification and Enlightenment, which are the 6 weeks of Lent, and Mystagogy, the period after you make your sacraments that runs right though Pentecost.

For now let.s review the Pre-Catechumenate because at this point there is still discernment as to whether or not to go through the process. This is the point that the Inquirer will work though the process and work to become Catholic. So what is involved with this period. The first thing that you can expect is an interview with the RCIA director. This interview will have you tell your story as to why you are seeking out the Catholic Church. It will also identify issues, like above, annulments, co-habitation are serious impediments to coming into the church. Don.t be upset with these questions. It is just a matter to of seeing where you are at and what processes need to be put in place for each person to complete their sacraments should they decide to continue.

The RCIA Director will also ascertain if you have been baptized or not. If you are baptized in a Trinitarian manner, in other words, in the name of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit, your Baptism will be accepted by the Catholic Church. If you are unbaptized or Baptized in a faith such as Mormon, you enter the Catechumenate as a catechumen and will be baptized and confirmed at Easter Vigil.

Now is the time for questions. Each of the Pre Catechumenate meetings will give the inquirer the opportunity to challenge the Church and learn from the Catholic Perspective. This is the time to review the Bible and start finding out what the Church Laws or Canon says on topics and how everything in the Church is rooted in the Bible.

You will find you are not alone and that there are others in this group going through this process with you. Reaching back to the early days of the church, you are in a group with other inquirers now. This is rooted in the early church because just as the Apostles went to small communities they worked with small groups towards their conversion to Christianity and you with your parish RCIA team will work towards your conversion.<bio>Beth has a full line of RCIA Gifts and religious medals</bio>

The Polaris youth bows have always boasted high standards of safety, precision and a fun way to learn <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/archery+techniques" rel="tag">archery techniques for kids. If you have got yourself one then here is a step by step method on how to assemble these youth bows.

Removing thumbscrews:

The Polaris youth bows will come with a riser and thumbscrews. You will first need to remove the thumbscrews. Once you remove the thumbscrews, you will notice that the top length is the one, which has no writing on the backside. This length is also called the Belly. Take one end of the length, which is pointing away and then align it to the riser horizontally. Take the thumbscrew and screw these two -- the riser and the length one over the other. Make sure, that when you are screwing the thumbscrews into place, you ensure a firm but not too tight hold. Making it too tight will result in a faulty shooting on the youth bows.

Ideally, the grip should be just enough to hold the riser and the length in their place -- that's it!

The other side:

Take the other side of the length and then attach it to the riser in horizontal fashion. Then, using the thumbscrews attach the length and the riser of the youth bows in place. Again, make sure the hold is not too tight. You just want to be able to hold both of them in place.

Right handed and left handed youth bows

One common question many people face is whether a bow is right handed or left handed. In a right handed youth bows set you will find the tips of the bow moving away from the center and the shelf located on the left. Thus, you hold this bow in your left hand but pull it with your right hand. Hence, it is called a right handed youth bows set. In the case of a left handed bow, the shelf will be placed on the right side (from the archer's perspective) and the string is drawn with the left hand. Thus, such a youth bows set is known as a left handed bow.

Installation of elevated rest

The elevated rest helps an archer accomplish more vane clearance and better feather while shooting. This is an optional attachment which can be bought if needed for the youth bows set. If you have bought one, then follow these instructions for installation:

- It is recommended that you use Isopropyl alcohol for this. You will not get this as part of the kit but we recommend you buy one

- Dip a small towel or paper napkin in Isopropyl alcohol and then use it to clean off any grease, dirt etc. from the portion of the youth bows set under the shelf

- Punch out the hole and then stick it to the elevated rest

- Make sure both the holes of the rest and the sticker are aligned well

- Place the rest on the place below the shelf

- Press down neatly

- That's it -- you just finished installing the elevated rest of your<bio>Eagle Archery offers a tremendous selection of Childrens and Youth Bows.
There are many things you can do to make your child's first archery experience a safer and more enjoyable one. One of them is on buying the best youth bows for your child. Here are some things to watch out for when buying them.

Positive first experience

Since your child would have just started learning archery and its various nuances it is imperative that you encourage your child as much as possible. When your child makes a mistake while using the youth bows you should not scold or rebuke your child. Encourage them constantly and make sure they have a good time. Only then will your child feel motivated enough to pursue archery seriously as a hobby.

Lesser weight

When selecting the youth bows for your child make sure it is not too weighty. You do not want a bow that has too many pounds packed into it. Your child will find it difficult to hold it and aim with it.

Adjustable modules are better

Many youth bows come with string slots which can be adjusted. However, the better alternative would be to consider buying youth bows that come with adjustable modules. These modules lend more extensibility to the youth bows which means your child can use them for many more years to come. In other words, the more the number of adjustable slots the more your child will be able to prolong the usage of the bow.

Don't push your child too much

Many parents make the mistake of goading their children into using their youth bows. Instead, it is always a much better idea to let your child learn and handle the archery in their own pace and time. When you are shooting, let your child stand near you. With time, your child will get the confidence to start shooting themselves.

Arm guards are necessary

It is vital that you invest in a good pair of arm guards. This accessory is easily available with most youth bows kits. The arm guards will protect their arms from any shocks or high impact shots. Having adequate protection on the arms is a prerequisite to ensuring a good, positive initial shooting experience for your child.

Invest in carbon arrows

Instead of the regular run off the mill arrows invest in carbon arrows. Though the price might be a bit higher the investment is worth it. It is because carbon arrows last longer and can represent a great learning experience for your child when he or she uses their youth bows.

3 dimensional shooting sessions

Another great way to train your child before using youth bows is by taking them to 3 D shoot sessions. Many of the ranges are replete with shooting stakes. They encourage your child very well in learning more about the shooting game. It will also help you bond better with your child. Make sure to encourage your child when he or she delivers a good shot. Many of these shooting sessions also have interesting targets such as lizards and dinosaurs so your children will surely love this experience. Plus, it is a great way to pre-train them before they use their youth bows.<bio>Eagle Archery offers a tremendous selection of Childrens and Youth Bows.
When you are single and Christian, you want to meet someone who shares your religious beliefs. It is important to meet someone that has similar values and moral code. Meeting someone at a Christian singles event can be an ideal opportunity. It means that you meet someone you know feels their belief system is just as important to them as it is to you. Many Christian singles feel that there are actually three people in their romantic relationship: them, the other person and God. When you have a relationship with another Christian, you are with someone who understands this and respects this.

Many churches today offer events suited for the Christian single. When your church does not offer events for the Christian single, ask your priest or minister for suggestions, as they may know of a related congregation that offers Christian singles events that you can attend. Some churches have much larger congregations and some churches have a larger number of single members. It is these churches that will offer events for single Christians.

Just about any type of social activity can be fun for a single event for Christians. One of the most popular events to hold is a casual dinner and dance event. This event can include a potluck type of supper where everyone brings a dish that they have prepared. Bringing music CDs to play for everyone to dance is also a lot of fun. Many Christian singles prefer Christian rock, and bringing music that they like ensures that they will have music that they enjoy most at their singles event.

Singles events for Christians can also be themed towards Christian holidays. A Christmas event can be decorating a Christmas tree together, drinking hot cocoa, and eating Christmas cookies. Or putting together food baskets for the hungry, as many Christians like to do good works. For Easter, Christian singles could make Easter eggs with underprivileged children or even children in their own church. Or an Easter supper could be planned for Christian singles without family close by. Some singles do live on their own and traveling home becomes costly.

Letting the group plan its own events is very important. Sometimes the church will designate a group leader that can take charge of the event. It is critical that the group leader be open to suggestions from all group members, as there are times other group members will have great ideas for events. The group should not be a place for only one agenda or only one type of event. A wide variety of events is best, to please and satisfy all members. Surveying all members at least once a year can also help to gauge if the group is meeting everyone's needs.

A singles event is not just a place to meet a potential mate, it is also a place to make new friends and create a sense of community. This shown to happen when Christian singles come together as a church group to connect with each other. Friendships develop and yes, romances do bloom. There is the chance to dance and cry at each others weddings. Most importantly, it is a time to meet other singles that share your values and beliefs.<bio>If you want to meet Christians who share the same interest as you please visit our Christian social networking community.</bio>

Youth bows are a fantastic way to initiate a child into the magical world of archery. Unlike the mainstream bows and arrows, which are meant purely for adults, these youth bows are made especially for young archers and children. Here are some of the benefits these offer.

Safety concerns

Every parent will obviously have concerns about the safety of these youth bows. Most manufacturers make them with utmost care to ensure that there is no chance of injury whatsoever. Thus, these come with easy maneuverability, arm support, special shock absorbers and a gamut of other safety features, which ensure better usability. Many of the modern youth bows even come with special shelf guards which represent another great safety aspect. These can be easily detached as needed and will protect the child's shoulders. The shelf guard can also keep arrows on shelf while draw cycles are on. This is another protective and safety mechanism should the arrow fall off from the others.

Easy assembling

The manufacturers of youth bows always make sure to make all the components in such a manner that assembling them is very easy. The kit usually comes replete with arrows, quiver, arm support, bow, target, shelf guard etc. There are also detailed instructions provided along with the kit that enable the child to easily assemble the components. All that one needs to do is to set up the target and then use the arrows to start shooting.

Ease of use

The youth bows also have great easy to use features. Most bows made for children have a length of just 30 inches approximately and weights amounting to 2 pounds or even lesser. This has been specially designed keeping in mind usability aspects for children. Thus, the lightweight design and small length help in this aspect. There is also an easy grip mechanism which is almost as good as an arm extension. This is another aspect of youth bows that lends them as easy to use. There are many newer versions of youth bows that even have a rubber finger release mechanism. This helps the child to easily place his or her little finger over the string while shooting. Manufacturers these days go through great lengths to make the youth bows as easy to use for children as possible. It is because the competition in this segment is increasing.

High grade materials

The youth bows these days are manufactured from the best materials possible. Most of them are made from aluminum of 6061-T6 quality. The presence of cams and limb cup machines on these youth bows further adds to the precise engineering. Many of these bows are also extensible meaning your child can grow with them using these youth bows into their adulthood as well. Many of the modern versions look just like the adult bows used. Most of them also do not use any plastic or cheap metals on them and this is what gives these youth bows such a widespread appeal. Overall, it is a great idea to buy youth bows as you can get one for as little as 200 dollars but it can rival any adult bow set in terms of advantages.<bio>Eagle Archery offers a tremendous selection of Childrens and Youth Bows.
There are a variety of different youth bows available in the market these days. However, these come with their own sets of accessories and products to make the archery more interesting. Here is a rundown of the essential accessories you need.

Youth bows cases

These special cases for youth bows are designed with a short length in order to accommodate these bows easily. The thick canvas cloth covering helps to protect the bows easily. The canvas materials are usually thick amounting to 7.5 ounces or so in weight. The presence of a sleek zipper, web handles with a full wrap feature, foam padding, pocket on the side and other useful features help make these youth bows cases functional and yet attractive in their design.

The bows

This is probably one of the most important accessories of the youth bows kits. The bows of these days have innovative cams, which can accommodate different draw lengths anywhere between 15 to even 30 inches. The special design prevents any kind of let off in the process. These youth bows are made versatile to accommodate young children as well as teenagers and even adults who like archery. The minimization of let off enables the youth bows to function just like any recurve of 35 pounds. The riser is made of machined aluminum and helps provide a nice lightweight performance. The aluminum idler facilitates easy tuning functionality. The cable guard is made of stainless steel and the modern youth bows also have composite limbs with a molded grip design.

Some youth bows have a specific draw length capacity. So, if you are opting for these then make sure to measure what your child's draw length and strength is. Depending on these two factors you will need to buy the youth bows accordingly.

Tube quivers

These quivers also come with the kits along with youth bows. These have attachments of a single belt and can be perfect for taking along to youth programs and school hunting sessions. Compared to these conventional quivers of youth bows there are also more modern versions. These are smaller in size and can be slung on the shoulder as well. The special broadhead base and plastic hood helps protect arrows better. You can also use these youth bows quivers to adjust them to your arrow lengths. You do not have need to use clips to adjust them which makes these youth bows quivers less of a hassle.

Shooting gloves

These are perfect if you want to protect your child's little hands while he or she is using the youth bows. These are usually made of soft leather and thus are very comfortable to wear.

Arm guards

These help protect the child's shoulders and arms while using the youth bows. The thick protective mechanism helps to absorb any shocks and high impact shots thereby protecting the delicate arms of your child.

Releases

The presence of jaws with no gaps, wide and strong releases in youth bows make for easy loading functionality. Plus, these releases also come with a trigger that can be easily adjusted. The smaller releases are designed to accommodate the small fingers of a child.<bio>Eagle Archery offers a tremendous selection of Childrens and Youth Bows.
