The title of this article is a little confusing perhaps. Are you among the many who are wondering what kind of carrier I am talking about? If so, then read on.

When I say that everyone could use a carrier, I mean it. And I mean it in a way that can be interpreted in several ways. For instance, I think that any new mommy and daddy should invest in a good baby carrier or two so that they can get outside and get active with their new baby. I hate seeing new parents feel confined to their home simply because they don't have a good way to just get out for an easy walk.

So if you're a new parent, then look around at the carrier options you have. See what is available and then make the best choice for your needs. Sure, a stroller is nice to have, but how much easier is it to have a simple carrier that goes over your shoulder so that you do not have to mess with a huge stroller any time you want to run an errand or go for a walk. Talk to other new parents and see what they are getting for their kids. Look online at the wide variety of carriers that are available for babies these days.

Another kind of carrier that many people need to invest in is a pet carrier. I know far too many dog and cat owners that have no real way to take their pets on any errands or short trips. A pet carrier is the most simple and best way to get your small pet from here to there with no problems. There is no reason why a small dog or cat should hinder you from doing the errands and other things you need to get finished. So I think that every pet owner needs to make the investment of a carrier so that your animal can be as mobile as you are.

Look at your life and see what a carrier could do for you. Whether you want a baby carrier or a pet carrier (or any other kind of carrier for that matter), begin today looking for the kind of carrier that is best for you and your needs. See what is available and then make a wise purchase. You don't want your life to stop once you have a child or purchase a pet, and a carrier is the single biggest thing you need to be on the go in no time. <bio>Julee Mitchelsin is a busy mother and a pet owner. She suggests a carrier for anyone who wants to be more mobile even with a pet or a baby. See http://www.funcarrier.info for more details. </bio>

When you are going on a vacation or taking your cat out for a length of time you will want to have the cat trained to ride in a car or vehicle so that the cat is not jumping all over and over the seats.

Purchasing a pet carrier will be the first thing that you will want to do. Searching for the right carrier is another thing that you will want to do. Knowing the right size and fit for the cat will be very important to the cat and you. A carrier in which your cat will like and a carrier that easily picked up and put in the car.

The first thing that you will want to do after purchasing the carrier for your cat is. Let the cat get use to the carrier being around. Set the carrier in the cat area for a couple of days and let the cat investigate with it. Do not push the cat into the carrier or your cat will not want to go in the carrier. After that, you will want to play with the cat with the carrier by putting something that the cat loves to play with in the carrier and see if the cat will go in by it. Once you have the cat going in and playing with the item then you will want to start with the rewarding of small treats, for the cat. Allow the cat for a few days to do this, once the cat is comfortable and maybe laying down in the pet carrier, you will want to start with the door, not to close and lock it, by allowing the door be slightly open for a period of time till the cat is comfortable.

Once you are able to have the cat comfortable in the carrier and you may start with closing the door all the way and then locking the door. Leave the carrier in the place for a few days when doing this.

Next, you can pick up the carrier and carry the cat gently around the house, to get the cat to be comfortable in the pet carrier with you walking. You should do this for several times a day for a few days, just so the cat is comfortable.

Now is the big day, to go for the first ride, remember that your cat has not maybe been in the car. Sounds from the car and near by cars and traffic noise will tend to startle your cat. You may want to do the first drive in a quiet area, with your cat next to you. There is music out to play while you are driving, with your cat to help the cat to relax. Talk to your cat to help it relax and assure it that everything is all right. If at anytime the cat does get frighten you will want to stop and help the cat to relax to assure there is nothing wrong. By doing this the cat will want to go back in the carrier the next time.

Remember to take treats with on the drive; this will help the cat to know that they are doing a good job and that you are keeping them safe. When your cat is doing well in the pet carrier as you are moving you can give the cat a treat to let it know they are doing a good behavior. Do not at anytime yell or do anything to startle the cat, as your cat will have a fear of the pet carrier.

Have patience and practice with training the cat for travel. Now you can pack the bags and cats items that you will need and off on the wonderful vacation with you. <bio>Burt Cotton http://www.petcarenews.org </bio>

They are the items that people take their merchandise home in when they are shopping. They have the name of the store on them and they are a great promotional item. Here are some different reasons why promotional carrier bags are a great promotional item.

Visibility

One of the things that stores like about promotional carrier bags is that they are a walking advertisement. They are a great reminder to people who know the store that they should shop there, and the people who have never been to the store often stop the person who is carrying the bag and ask them about the store.

Variety

Another good thing about promotional carrier bags is that there are a lot of different types of promotional carrier bags that you can choose from. The company can choose a bag that suits their needs and their budget.

They don't have to settle for something that they don't like.

There are a few ways that you can choose the right type of promotional carrier bags for your company.

Products

The first thing that you want to think about is what type of products you are selling. What are their size, what are their weight, what are their value? Thinking about these properties is going to help you decide what type of promotional carrier bags that you will want to get.

Customers

The next thing that you will want to figure out is what type of customers you have. You will want to choose a different type of promotional carrier bag for products for children than you are going to choose for products for adults. Think about how rough they will be with the bag and how they will carry it. This will help you to know if the promotional carrier bags can be flimsy or if they need to be more durable.

Company

The last thing that you want to think about is what type of company do you have? Are you more upscale or are you more casual shopping? Large department stores often use large promotional carrier bags made out of paper, whereas the retail stores often use plastic bags.

You should take a look at all of these different factors when you are choosing your promotional carrier bags and they will help you to decide what type of promotional carrier bags that you will be using.

Promotional carrier bags are something that really can advertise a company and a store very well. You know that you see people carrying promotional carrier bags all over the place and you always notice the name on the bags. They are something that people always see everywhere, and they are something that stores all over the world use to give people something to carry their purchases home in.

When you choose promotional carrier bags for your company, you are choosing something that people are going to see all the time, so it's important to make the right choice.<bio>Miles Lovegrove is director of Fluid Branding, the UK's largest supplier of Promotional Carrier Bags and other Promotional Products at www.fluidbranding.com.
There are two different models for providing internet service in colocation facilities. One is carrier neutral and the other is carrier specific. Carrier neutral data centers offer customers more choices and are generally the choice for service in the US and Europe. Unfortunately, the service is rare in Canada and when you do find it, is very expensive.

In the carrier neutral model, your server is hosted in a facility that offers many different internet carriers. Generally, the first step in the process of finding a carrier neutral facility is to choose the carrier that you want to provide your internet connection. Like a real estate broker, colocation brokers will help you find the best service and the best price for you needs. Once you choose a provider, your broker will tell you which data centers are available to host your server and in what areas. From there, you can choose the location or locations that best meet your needs. Depending on the size of your business you may want your servers hosted in different areas throughout the country or all in one general location.

Prices vary from provider to provider and the benefit of carrier neutral colocation is that you have the option to shop around for the best price. If a carrier is running a promotion, you'll be able to get in on that promotion and save money on your internet service. However, on the downside, you'll have to pay more to rent space in the colocation facility than you would with a carrier specific facility.

With the carrier specific model, you don't have a choice which company will provide your internet connection. You chose the facility that you want your server hosted at and then, whatever carrier they have, that's the one you use for your internet connection.

The problem with this model is that it doesn't let you shop around for the best price on internet service. However, you only pay one fee to the colocation facility for both your rack space and your internet service.

Generally, the carrier neutral model is better for the consumer since it encourages competition among the providers and drives prices down. As the consumer you have a better choice for service as well as lower costs.

In Canada, however, carrier neutral services are not widely available due to the monopolies held by the major service providers. In most cases, the carrier specific model is all you will be able to find. If you do happen upon a company that offers carrier neutral service, beware of high costs. Since most colocation facilities in Canada do not offer carrier neutral services, the few that do are able to drive their prices way up for space in the facility. Since there is virtually no competition in this market, if you want to continue using a carrier neutral service, you will be forced to pay their ever-rising prices.

The future looks bright though. As more and more colocation providers are looking into getting a direct fiber link to Seattle, they will soon be able to offer carrier neutral services throughout Canada. This will mean more competition, better service and lower prices for the consumer.<bio>Saleh Tousi is the CEO of SmarttNet, a Vancouver IT company offering comprehensive business Internet services including Vancouver colocation since 1995.</bio>

Four Reasons To Use A Carrier With Your Pouch Laminator

In the past almost every pouch laminator would require the use of a pouch carrier. However, in recent years more and more manufacturers are advertising that you can use their machines without a carrier. These machines often use silicon or ceramic heated rollers and Teflon coated heating plates and they are able to pass the documents through without a carrier. However, just because these laminators can run documents without a carrier doesn't mean that you shouldn't use a carrier. Here are four reasons you should always use a pouch carrier with your laminator.

1. When you laminate documents the heat from the rollers activates and melts a layer of adhesive inside the laminating pouch. This adhesive is what makes the pouches stick to your documents and provides the lasting laminated effect. When the adhesive is melted during the laminating process it is possible (and likely) that some adhesive will squeeze out of the edges of the pouch. If you are using a pouch carrier the adhesive will never come into contact with your laminating rollers. However, if you aren't using a carrier the adhesive will squish out onto the rollers of your laminator and will begin to build up. Over time, this buildup of laminating adhesive can cause all sorts of problems.

2. If you run laminating pouches without a carrier you exponentially increase the chances of the pouches getting wrapped around the rollers. The buildup of adhesive mentioned in point number one can cause a pouch to stick to the rollers and to curl around the rollers instead of exiting the laminator. If you catch the problem quickly it is sometimes possible to salvage your laminator. However, many laminators end up in the garbage every year because of this problem. A pouch carrier adds additional rigidity to keep the pouches from curling and helps to ensure that even if things would start to wrap up that the adhesive won't fuse the pouch and document onto the laminating rollers.

3. A laminating pouch carrier can help to ensure that the finished laminated document is smooth and free from heat marks or imperfections. The carrier helps to ensure that there is a smooth surface against the pouch and document when the laminator is feeding the materials. Small amounts of adhesive on the rollers or imperfections will not affect the laminating process as dramatically when using a pouch carrier.

4. When handling laminating pouches while they are still hot it is very easy to leave marks and fingerprints on the laminated surface. With a pouch carrier it is easy to move the laminated material to the side where it can cool without ever needing to touch the actual document. This can be extremely helpful.

Ever pack of pouches that you buy should come with a pouch carrier and if you need extras they are extremely inexpensive. With these things in mind, it is highly advisable to use a carrier with every document that you laminate. It can save you time, money and hassle if you do. <bio>Jeff McRitchie is the designer and Director of Marketing for http://www.MyBinding.com. They have the unpadded and padded kind as well. Sling carriers carry babies on the hips, in a cradle hold and snuggle hold as well. There is so much that you can do with a sling baby carrier that it can even be used to carry baby on the back. The convenience these sling carriers provide is that you can easily store them in your diaper bags.

Then, there are the Asian style baby carriers where long strips of cloth are attached to a carrier (usually a quilted fabric rectangular in shape). These can be used either at the front or at the back. This is ideal for newborns and smaller babies, for toddlers will find this to be limiting in space.

You should choose a baby carrier that you are most comfortable with and one that will suit your lifestyle. Irregardless of which particular one you choose, for me the important thing is that despite your busy schedule you maintain some physical contact with your baby which is very important. Even just a small amount of touch is enough to let your baby feel your love and care. <bio>Mary Lorainne writes about http://www.luggagebagsetc.com </bio>

You may not know much about your cellular phone other than that you cannot live without it! Your cell phone is your connection to the rest of the world and is a very important tool. Many cell phones are made to use a SIM card -- a Subscriber Identification Module -- which stores subscriber data. The SIM card is issued by the carrier (carriers such as ATandT, T-Mobile, Alltel, and others use SIM cards) and is used to activate the phone. Locked cell phones will only recognize a particular carrier while unlocked cell phones will recognize any carrier.

An unlocked cell phone is much more useful to the average cell phone user than a locked one. A locked cell phone will not allow users to change phones at their leisure. Cellular carriers claim that this is done to maintain a balance covering the cost of the phones. A locked cell phone benefits only the carrier while an unlocked cell phone benefits the customer. Some cellular carriers require that you purchase a locked cell phone for the contract period, but will unlock the phone at the time that the contract expires.

One of the easiest ways to purchase an unlocked cell phone is to purchase the phone from a third party vendor online, not from a cellular carrier store. This way, the phone will already be in its unlocked state, which is how all cell phones are manufactured originally anyway. What is even better about purchasing an unlocked cell phone this way is that it is typically 50%-60% less than what you might pay at the carrier's retail store. Unlocked cell phones will work with any carrier that uses a SIM card (even overseas).

If you currently own a locked cell phone, you can pay a third party company (not your carrier) to unlock the cell phone. Unlocking a cell phone will not guarantee that it will work, as your carrier may have implemented proprietary settings. However, many other people have learned to hack into locked cell phones, but be careful when unlocking your existing cell phone as it can potentially be rendered unusable.

A prominent benefit of having an unlocked cell phone is that if you tire of one phone or carrier, you are free to change services whenever you want. With today's constant changes among cellular carrier's plans, pricing, and services it is no wonder that so many people prefer unlocked cell phones. Unlocked cell phones make it much easier for customers to switch carriers.

Unlocked cell phones are also beneficial if you wish to change the model of phone you are using. Many SIM cards are compatible with many different phone models. If your phone breaks, is damaged, or it is just time for an upgrade, you can often switch the SIM card out and place it into the new phone. The SIM card will allow for you to retain all of your stored information, phone number, and calling plan, but in an entirely new phone.<bio>This article about Unlocked Cell Phones was written by Abe S.
These days, toy dogs are the new fashion. Gone are the days when the dogs of the minute belong to bigger, tougher breeds. This is the day and age of the Shih Tzu, the Yorkie, and the Chihuahua. Although these dogs may suffer for lack of stature, they tend to make up for it in heart and personality and although they may not be able to maul an intruder they do have their benefits. For one, smaller dogs ride well in totes and dog carriers.

Paris Hilton made the idea famous, and people have been trying it ever since but it must be said that trying to carry willful dogs in a carrier can have its dangers. Luckily, there are some ways to help ease the transition from riding in your lap to riding in your purse. Although it won't be an easy thing by any means both you and your pet will be rewarded with the wonderful bonding that can occur when you are able to hide them away in your bag and carry them from place to place with you throughout the day.

For those out there who are finding it rather difficult to get their dogs to cooperate with the carrier, it is perfectly normal for there to be a few problems but it will take some getting used to. To help make the transition easier for you and your pet, here are a few great tips to help get you started.

Treats Always Do the Trick

If all else seems to fail you, never forget that your pet's life revolves around a few basic necessities: you, sleep, and food. In this case, treats should do just the trick when it comes to getting your pet to venture into the carrying case. Half the battle with getting your dog to ride in the carrier is getting them to go anywhere near it, but a few fake bacon strips or a bone-shaped biscuit later you and your pet should be one step closer to mastering the dog carrier.

Do a Dress Rehearsal

Keep in mind that a dog carrier should be just for dogs and nothing else so there should be no harm in allowing them to explore the carrier when it's not high off the ground, at least from their perspective. Set the carrier on the floor or lay it on its side, and put their favorite toy in it or the blanket they always sleep with. The familiar scent on these items and their love for them should draw them to the carrier, hopefully enticing them to step in for awhile, perhaps even relax for a few minutes. The more comfortable your pet is with the idea of the carrier, the easier it is going to be for you to get them to ride in it while you cart them around town.

Don't Push the Issue

There are several reasons why your pet may be uncomfortable with the dog carrier idea. Perhaps they are afraid of heights. Perhaps they do not appreciate small spaces. Either way, there are several ways to go about making sure that they get with the program, but understand that with dogs things are going to happen in their own time.

Rushing them into the dog carrier idea is a good way to push them away from the idea at all, and you certainly don't want to instill a fear of something so silly and potentially useful to you.

Dogs trained to ride in the carrier are great; the better your dog is with riding under your arm, the more time you are going to be able to spend together but understand that things will not always come as easily as you would like them to and that just like a child, dogs have a learning curve too. Take your time and consider the personality of your dog and in time the carrier will allow you and your pampered pooch to spend more time together than you probably ever thought possible. <bio>If you enjoyed this article, visit Lisa's Blog http://blog.pampermepuppy.com for more tips.
When thinking about a carrier bag the first thing that may come to mind is plastic bags or paper shopping bags that your groceries are packed in at the supermarket, but in actual fact, carrier bags have gone hip. They're so hip in fact, that companies are using them as a promotional tool. They're cheap, and very handy to have around.

If you look in any bag shop, the fashion magazines, and even clothing stores and you will find an array of multi coloured carrier bags in all different shapes and sizes to suit the most trendiest outfit you can find, whether you are off to the local grocery store or out to lunch with your friends.

The classic style of a carrier bag is one that has a single opening where items are placed directly into the bag all together. One advantage to this style of bag is that you won't need to go looking through all the compartments in your bag to find something. On the other hand, if there are number of items inside the bag, it may take a little while to find what it is you are looking for.

The latest trends in carrier bags that are used to accessorise an outfit include lots of silver chains and buckles. The bronze tones have been popular, and of course the ever-standard black never goes out of date.

A few years ago, carrier bags in a bio degradable fabric were manufactured for the sole purpose of carrying the grocery shopping. Originally these bags were all coloured green, but now, in line with fashion trends once again, these bags are available in many different colours including red, pink, and purple along with the standard green.

They are cheap to buy, and totally reusable so they really do help reduce the use of plastic bags, which many people believe are totally bad for our ever changing environment.

Recently in the country of Australia, a levy was introduced on a trial basis for those that continued to use plastic bags when doing their supermarket shopping. This meant that anyone who did not purchase their own carrier bags like the ones mentioned in the previous paragraph, would be charged a fee of somewhere between 10 cents and 25 cents for every plastic bag used to load their shopping at the check out. Think of how much visibility your company could gain if your branded carrier bags!

Carrier bags are part of today's society. They are used in many different applications and are regularly used at many retail outlets. It is not uncommon to go to major retail outlets and find that the majority of shops are still using plastic bags to load items that people have purchased. There are of course some shops that do use paper bags.

When thinking about stationery supplies, quite often an item will be referred to as a carrier bag, but the style will not actually look like a classic bag. For example, plastic pouches that are used to transport documentation are quite often referred to as carrier bags. They appear to be very thin in appearance but in fact extremely sturdy and can carry up to 10 kilograms in weight, making them the ideal solution not only for transporting thick files, but also many other things.

So depending on what it is you want your carrier bag for, it may be that a trip is in order to your favourite bag shop, the stationery supplier or your local supermarket. Branded carrier bags are a great way to boost your company's visibility.<bio>Matt Franks is director of Fluid Branding, the UK's largest supplier of Promotional Carrier Bags and Branded Carrier Bags at www.fluidbranding.com.
Dog carrier fashion is the hottest thing to hit the runways of Tokyo, LA, and Milan. But what does that mean to you and how do you select the best one for your canine friend? A dog carrier is your best choice when it comes to traveling long distances with your little friend. It is basically a padded bag with sufficient space to accommodate your pet comfortably. They are of varied sizes, shapes and styles. The market is flocked with different types of dog carriers like dog strollers, dog crates, designer dog carriers and the newly fashionable dog backpack. Which one you choose depends largely upon the size and the breed of the dog you have; and the lifestyle you wish to include your dog in.

First, try to acquire as much information as possible from the manufacturers or retailer before making your purchase. Safety, security and comfort - are the three most important aspects you should look for when choosing a dog carrier. The type of dog carriers that you purchase depends on size, length and the weight of your dog, not all dog carriers may work for your pooch. A big dog may not fit in the standard size strollers, backpack and most designer carriers; your choices would be limited to carriers and crates to transport your dog. Small dogs on the other hand can comfortably fit into any carrier or stroller, but again you should be vigilant about the attributes of the carrier and your intention for its primary use.

A comfortable dog carrier gives your pet sufficient room to move around yet not big enough to allow him to rock around inside especially if you intend on rigorous activity while carrying your dog such as jogging and hiking. The most vital characteristic you should always check for is that the carrier has good ventilation to allow for fresh air to circulate. Your dog can easily dehydrate in a poorly ventilated dog carrier, especially on those hot summer days. If you wish to pamper your pet then make sure that the carrier is comfortably padded and has a seat belt =96 of course there is nothing wrong with making sure you look good while carrying it around too! Also check out other points like durability, detachable shoulder straps, rubberized fabric and four mesh viewing panels. Let me point out from personal experience that you should also look into the cleaning directions of the dog carrier; some have machine washable linings that can easily be cleaned.

Those on the look out for trendy and chic dog carriers will have no problem locating fashionable and pocket friendly dog carriers at most pet stores. For those that want maximum indulgence for dog can browse the many styles from the best designer houses in the world. Remember, that the dog carriers are not only for the fashion conscious but can also be used if your dog is blind, too old to walk or has hearing problems. A good idea is to try to reflect your dog's personality and taste have some fun with it.

Initially your dog may be reluctant to sit inside the carrier, but this depends entirely on your skills to compel him/her to venture into a small case. Start with a bone shaped biscuit or fake bacon strips to urge your little friend towards the carrier. Your next other option is to entice the little pet with an endearing smell or a favorite toy kept in the vicinity of the carrier. This will tempt the dog to step inside the carrier, though it may show some hesitation. Nonetheless, keep in mind to always place the dog carrier on the ground. Never force your dog in the dog carrier; this will likely cause anxiety and an irrational fear of carriers. Take your time and be patients, your rewards will make it all worth it. <bio>Ruby Fayed is an avid dog lover and premier article author for http://www.tailoredtail.com/dog-carriers.html.
Baby travel systems include a baby stroller and a car seat/carrier all in one package. The stroller and the car seat/carrier are usually coordinating and are from the same manufacturer. Purchasing them as a set can save you money and time hunting for just the right one of each.

Let's start with the baby stroller. Baby travel systems include a single stroller made of high quality materials that are durable and can take a lot of use, because parents usually keep them through multiple children. The fabric is a woven, washable, tear-resistant material and is almost always quilted in some fashion as to protect the baby from bumps and jostling around during rides on uneven pavement and such.

The stroller usually has a sun hood cover and sometimes they have a clear plastic 'moon roof' built in so that you can peak down on the baby to see if they are sleeping or playing. The wheels are usually double and are on ball bearings so maneuvering the stroller is very easy to do, especially in a crowded mall or on a walk along a bumpy trail. There are often one or two cup holders and a small tray on the back near the handle for your keys or other small items. And underneath the stroller is usually large mesh basket to carry your diaper bag or some shopping packages.

The second piece of the baby travel systems is the car seat/baby carrier. This item can be used as either a car seat or a carrier for the baby. When used as a car seat, this is an infant car seat which is used for babies under 20 lbs and rear-facing. There are specially made groves in the car seat for the seatbelt strap or frequently bases you install and leave in your car and you lock the car seat into the base when car riding. If you are not sure how to install the car seat, you can go to any fire station or insurance agency and they can show you how to properly install the car seat. If your car seat has the base and you are going to use the base, make sure you have installed the base correctly as well.

The car seat can frequently double as a carrier, which means the car seat has a handle so you don't have to transfer the baby into another piece of equipment to carry him or her around the store or wherever you are going. The handle adjusts back when the carrier is being used for a car seat and adjusts to the center of the carrier when being used as a carrier. Because they tend to be heavy, they are not as comfortable to carry your baby around for long periods of time, like a wraparound carrier or wraparound sling carrier might be, but they do provide a comfortable place for baby while in a restaurant, and you can adjust the handle so that the baby is sitting up and you can feed them.

Finally, the carrier can be mounted in the stroller and used in this way as well. If baby falls asleep in the car and you have reached your destination, all you have to do is take the car seat out and lock it into place in the stroller and you are on your way. Baby travel systems provide great convenience for parents on the go.<bio>Learn more about baby strollers and understand why many parents choose baby travel systems for their child.
What is VoIP Protocol?

The phone services offered by your local phone companies use circuit-switching technologies. In basic terms a copper wire is used to complete a circuit and to connect two people talking on the phone. A VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) phone system works by the use of packet-switching technology. Packet8 is a VoIP company that takes its' name from this packet technology.

This VoIP protocol technology does not use a copper wire to complete a circuit, but instead the voice signals are broken down into tiny andquot;packetsandquot; of digital data and then are sent over the internet and reassembled on the other end and a crystal clear voice message can be heard just like we are used to, but the cost to you to do this is at least 50% less than what your regular phone company will charge you!

There are many companies that are now on the cutting edge of this technology. They all offer packages with call waiting, call conferencing, caller ID, and much more at no additional costs. One company offers you a basic free service to use VoIP from computer to computer worldwide and another company offers VoIP services when you travel! All bases, so to speak, of your VoIP needs are now covered in the VoIP marketplace!

To make the switch from the old (or analog) phone system to the new VoIP (or digital) phone system is a snap! Don't let this new technology scare you off! All you need to do is have a broadband internet connection (DSL or Cable) and the correct hardware as provided by the particular VoIP carrier that you choose. All VoIP providers offer easy ways to make the switch including keeping your present number.
First, what is the official definition of co-insurance?

Coinsurance

Once you have met your deductible, you pay coinsurance for additional medical care. It is a percentage of the billed charge. For example, your insurance company might pay 80%, and then you would pay 20%. It is similar to a co-pay, but is a percentage instead of a dollar amount.

Now, let's dig a little deeper. With California health insurance, it is common to speak of their plan as an 80/20 plan or a 70/30 plan. They are essentially referring to the co-insurance part of it. With the 80/20 example, the health carrier is picking up 80% of the charges and you are picking up the remaining 20%. If there is any kind of deductible, you must pay that first at 100% until met.

Let's take an example and see how California health insurance plans essentially break down into three main stages.

Stage 1 - The deductible YOU PAY 100%

Let's say you have a $500 deductible. Except for services that are separate from the deductible (usually office visits and prescriptions...see COPAYS), you will pay the discounted charges at 100% until you meet your deductible. You can find more information on deductibles.

Stage 2 - The co-insurance YOU SHARE A PERCENTAGE

Once the deductible is met, you then start sharing the cost with the carrier. Let's say our plan is 70/30 and the charge is $1000. You pay the first $500 (deductible) and then you pay 30% of the remaining $500...or $150. Of the first $1000 charge, you would pay $650 out of it. If you have another $1000 charge in that same calendar year, you would pay 30% of the 1000 (or $300) since your deductible was already met. When do you stop paying the 30%??

Stage 3 - The Max Out of Pocket THE CARRIER PAYS 100%

Once you have met your Max out of Pocket (sometimes called the Copay Maximum), the carrier will then pay 100% of covered benefits, in-network. For our plan example, let's say we have a $500 deductible, 70/30 co-insurance, and $5000 max out of pocket. If we get a $50,000 bill in a calendar year, you pay the first $500, then 30% until you reached another $5000 out of pocket. For that $50K, you would pay $5500 and the carrier would pay $45,500. Co-insurance is nice but the real reason to have health insurance is the max out of pocket.

Co-insurance usually applies to services outside of the office visit and prescriptions. You will typically see the same co-insurance percentage for hospital, lab, surgery, emergency (sometimes has separate additional copay) and physician services.

It's important to stay in network for PPO plans. Let's say you have 70/30 plan and you see a doctor out of the PPO network on a non-emergency basis for $1000 of services and your deductible is already met (you're in Stage 2). Two things will probably happen. The health insurance plan will probably have a separate percentage for out of network...let's say 50/50 instead of 70/30. Also, the carrier will apply this lesser percentage to what they would pay an in-network provider. For example with the $1000 charge, perhaps the contracted PPO rate is $600 (discount is usually 30-60%). The carrier would then pay 50% of the $600 or $300 of the total $1000. You pay $700. Compare this with the 30% of 600 you would pay for an in-network provider. $700 versus $180 out of your pocket. Use in-network providers! <bio>Dennis Jarvis is a licensed California health insurance broker with extensive knowledge of the Individual and Small Group health market in California.
Are you getting ready to go on vacation with your pet? If so, you aren't alone. In fact, a growing number of pet owners are deciding to take their pets with them when they travel. In order to your vacation a pleasant experience for both you and your pet, however, there are several things you should keep in mind.

Determine if Your Pet is Really Ready to Travel

Before you begin making vacation plans that included your four-legged friend, you need to make an honest assessment of your pet's temperament. Is your pet really ready to travel? If your pet has any of these conditions, you should probably send it to a pet sitter or kennel while you are traveling:

•	Your pet is very young
•	Your pet is very old
•	Your pet is ill
•	Your pet is pregnant
•	Your pet is recovering from surgery

If your pet is extremely hyper, suffers from anxiety, or is otherwise easily upset, taking it on vacation may not be a very good idea.

Get a Clean Bill of Health

Even if your pet seems to be perfectly healthy, you should still take a trip to the veterinarian's office before you head out on vacation. Discuss your travel plans with your veterinarian and ask about any risks you should be concerned about. In addition, you should discuss what you should do if any of these risks occur, such as if your pet becomes carsick or restless while traveling.

You should also make certain your pet's vaccinations are up to date and you should obtain a rabies certificate to take with you while on the trip. If you are traveling by air, you will be required to present this certificate. Even if you are not going by plane, having this on hand will help you avoid potential heartache if your pet nips at someone while traveling. You might also want to consider having your veterinarian insert a microchip that will help you locate your pet if you become separated.

Purchasing a Pet Carrier

With your pet properly prepared to travel, you now need to purchase a pet carrier. The carrier needs to be sturdy and secure so your pet cannot escape. It also needs to be well-ventilated and roomy enough for your pet to be able to stand up and turn around. Be sure to allow your pet to spend time in the carrier before the trip. That way, your pet will be used to the carrier and, hopefully, will be comfortable with having to spend time inside of it. The carrier should also have handles on the outside. That way, if someone else needs to handle the carrier, there is no risk of that person getting bitten.

Be certain to print your pet's name on the outside of the carrier with a permanent marker. You should also write your name, your address and your phone number. In addition to writing your personal address, you should also write your destination so you and your pet can be reunited as quickly as possible if you are separated. After all, the last thing you want is to be worried about your pet when you should be enjoying a memorable vacation together.<bio>CS Swarens is the president of Find a Pet Online. 800 998-7065 For additional information on dogs, cats, birds, horses, and exotic pets visit the internet's pet resource including pet classifieds at http://www.findapetonline.com.
If you're moving or you want to take your pet on holiday with you, chances are that you will want fly to wherever you are going to. So it's good to know what you can do and what you can't so your pet is exposed to as little trauma as possible. If you know in advance exactly how you can travel with your pet, it means you don't have to waste time at the airport which could be tough on you and your pet.

Traveling with pets means you are subject to a different set of rules. It would help if you are familiar with them even before you book your tickets. First of all, check whether the airline you plan to go in allows pets as not all do. Then clarify if the pet you have will be allowed onto the flight. Again, certain pets might be allowed, certain others may not. If you go ahead and book without being sure, you could end up at the airport with your pet and not be allowed on board. Be very specific when you ask for information before you book your ticket.

You will have to bear in mind that your pet will have to be kept contained during the flight. So your dog or cat or bird will have to be put into a carrier. Again, enquire about what kind of carrier needs to be used. Not all carriers are allowed on board. Then find out whether your pet can travel with you or has to be checked in like baggage. Some airlines insist on this. There are a few rules you will have to follow if you take your pet into the cabin with you. Your pet can in no way affect the well-being or the peace of the others passengers. Remember not to place the carrier on any seat, even if it is empty and do not place it on the aisle where it can trip up a passenger or a member of the crew. Each airline has its own set of regulations over and above this.

Ensure that all your pet's documents are in order. Here again, it would be good to check when you are booking your ticket so that you have enough time to make sure all his vaccinations have been done and no shots that need to be given have been forgotten in that last-minute rush. These are necessary not only to protect your pet but also all the other passengers he is traveling with. Some airlines need for you to have a medical examination just before boarding so they are assured that your pet is healthy enough to fly.

Once you have everything ready, your tickets, your pet's health papers, the right carrier, make sure that you get to the airport earlier that check-in time. This just helps iron out any last-minute hiccups should they occur. And you can, no doubt, have enough time to sort out things and board your flight without problems. Both your pet and you will have to go through airport security and your pet too will have to go through the metal detector. It is likely that the pet carrier he is in will also be subject to checking. It usually involves sending this through the X-ray machine together with your carry-on bag. In this case, very often, it is just the carrier that goes through, not your pet.

However, there are airlines that say a big No to pets. Which is why it is so important for you to make sure whether or not your pet will be allowed well ahead of your traveling time. Some airlines that do allow you to might charge quite a bit extra for a pet. Do enquire about all the details before you buy that ticket! <bio>Abby Johnson is a staff writer at http://travel-gazette.com and is an occasional contributor to several other websites, including http://www.lifestylegazette.com. </bio>

Dog owners who go on business trips or take vacations have to decide whether to board their dog in a kennel or take the dog with them. For many dog owners, leaving their animals behind is not an option; they want the animal to accompany them, even if it means flying with a dog.

The key element when flying with a dog on an airplane is to make plans and work out the specifics in advance of the flight. The following is a list of details to consider before flying with a dog:

1. Dog owners who are flying with a dog will want to plan a direct flight to their destination, if possible. This will shorten flight time and help to reduce the dog's time in the animal-transportation carrier. The dog owner should call the airline as soon as the itinerary has been finalized. The airline may have rules, regulations, and policies that must be followed. If an overseas trip has been planned, there may be quarantine regulations that must be considered. Also, calling the airline in advance will enable a dog owner to discuss any requests or requirements that the owner may have. It is imperative to make sure that the cargo compartment of the airplane is pressurized, so that the animal will have oxygen and be warm enough while traveling.

2. There are different types of carriers used by the various airlines. A dog owner can contact the airline and ask them to provide a carrier in advance. Having the carrier at home before the flight will allow the dog owner to help the dog get used to being confined. This will help reduce some of the fear or anxiety that the dog may experience on the day of the flight. Some dogs need mild tranquilizers to help them remain calm while flying.

3. When the flight day arrives, the dog owner should plan to start the day early. This will give the owner enough time to exercise the dog, allow the animal to `go potty,' and help the dog become comfortable in the carrier. Before the animal enters the carrier, the dog owner needs to place the dog's identifying information on the carrier and make sure it is on the dog as well. The owner can write the dog's name on the carrier in large letters, along with the owner's name and contact information. The owner needs to make sure that this information is securely attached to the dog's carrier as well as on his tag on his collar. An implanted ID tag is also a good idea, but must be obtained via a veterinarian prior to the trip.

4. After the dog owner releases the dog and carrier to the airline, the owner needs to request confirmation that the dog has been securely and safely loaded onto the plane. The dog owner also needs to verify, with an airline representative, that the dog is on the right plane.

5. After the owner arrives at the intended destination, he or she should immediately tell a flight attendant and an airline representative in the airport that his or her dog is on board. The owner can request that the dog's removal from the plane be given immediate priority. Finally, the dog owner needs to ask for the exact point of removal. Some airlines have a separate office or facility where passengers pick up cargo, including animals, from a flight.

Dog owners who follow the above guidelines will be well-prepared when they are flying with a dog. They will ensure the dog's safety. In addition, the dog will be more at ease and less likely to experience fear or anxiety during an airline flight. Flying with a dog can be a great experience if precautions are taken to prepare ahead of time. <bio>David Beart is owner of http://www.professorshouse.com , a site dedicated to dog information, family, relationships and household issues. </bio>

Baby hip carriers come in a variety of shapes and sizes and colors. There are different brands of baby hip carriers such as the Hotslings pouch slings which allow you to carry a baby four months of age and older on your hip, forward facing. They are specifically made so that the baby's bottom has a specific place and that baby is in a comfortable sitting position. Baby's back is supported by the hip carrier as is the person carrying baby. Hotslings pouch slings come in a variety of colors and sizes to fit most women and can hold a child who weighs up to 35 pounds. And dad's can wear them too!

Other baby hip carriers include the Mei Hip baby hip carrier, which is designed much like the Mei Tai baby carriers, but specifically designed for use on the hip, and it uses buckles instead of ties. The Mei Hip baby carrier has all the comfort and back support of the Mei Tai and the security of the ring sling as it transfers some of the baby's weight to your hips. This particular style of baby hip carrier has large, secure buckles that lock into place around your shoulder and back for maximum support for both you and your baby or toddler.

Baby ring slings are also perfect as baby hip carriers. Baby ring slings are large, long pieces of cloth that you wrap around your shoulder and slide one end through a set of rings near your shoulder. It is an easy adjustment to place the baby or toddler on your hip for easy carrying as they grow taller and heavier and less likely to enjoy the cradle style of using the ring sling.

Another style of baby hip carrier is one from Playtex which is a baby hammock hip carrier which allows the baby to be seated in the correct position on your hip while it also gives you the support your back and sides need for carrying a baby or toddler. Both the waist and shoulder straps are adjustable with contoured padding. For the baby it has a convertible back rest and quilted outer fabric and inner micro fabric.

Baby hip carriers are popular because they help distribute the weight of the baby on your hips and down your legs not emphasis the weight on your back which can help avoid a lot of aches and pains. Zip 'n Go Hip Carrier is another baby hip carrier that is small and compact and also has a carrying pouch for when it is not in use. The baby's portion has a higher back and this gives baby a better sitting position. It is generously padded with a lining that allows air to flow through and has one storage pocket. It's made for babies and toddlers five months old and up to 40 pounds in weight.

Another popular baby hip carrier is the Quinny Curb hip soft baby carrier which has big soft padding, much like a back pack, and holds the baby in place with two leg holes and a large strap around their back for maximum support. This model has a waist strap which is a large padded strap with a locking snap to help keep baby in place. The fabric is soft almost vinyl and machine washable, which is always a good feature when children are involved!

No matter which brand of baby hip carriers you prefer, you will enjoy the benefits of having your child close to you and easy to travel with.<bio>Learn more about baby hip carriers and find out why a baby hip carrier may be the best choice for your child.David Cummings is General Manager of Bustling Baby, a business devoted to providing baby mobility, comfort, and convenience to active families.</bio>

Vacation Travel is in full swing and many families are taking to the road. Before stuffing those suitcases and duffel bags in the space between the passengers consider the use of outside the vehicle storage in order to make your trip more pleasant. Unfortunately many families are more concerned with what needs to be taken to the campground, or beach rather than where all that stuff Is going to be put. With a little pre-planning the ride will be part of the fun.

There are many types of luggage carriers and cargo carriers that can accommodate the additional items necessary for a long road trip. The choices are between a Rooftop Luggage Carrier or a Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier. If you decide to go with a Rooftop Carrier, in most cases, a rooftop luggage carrier will require a roof rail system with crossbars. If your vehicle doesn't have a rail system check with the Auto Dealership or go online to find a compatible rail system. Many vehicles have the front to rear rails but need the left to right crossbars. The cross bars are available from the dealership or in many cases can be found online as retrofitted bars. Check the manufacturer specifications to see what the roof load is before just putting any weight on the vehicle roof. There are Hard Roof Top Carriers and Soft Top Carriers. Each has advantages and disadvantages so choose based on your requirements. One way to see if the carrier dimensions will accommodate your needs is to make a string measurement on the floor of the unit size and place the items you plan to have it hold inside the string area.

The Hitch Mount or Rear Mount Carriers attach to the rear of the vehicle and require a 2 in. or 1.25 in. receiver. Each vehicle has a rated towing capacity and it is important to have the proper receiver hitch in place. The Dealership is a good place to start for this. It will know the towing capacity of the particular vehicle and do the proper hitch receiver installation. Many vehicles are already accessorized with a receiver hitch in place.

There are choices with the type of Hitch Mount Cargo Carriers as well. There are Hard Rear Mount Carriers and Combination Metal Trays with or without Soft Carrier Bags. Many of the Rear Mount Carriers offer mounting accessories for bikes, fishing poles, tables, and more. The choices are many and varied. The internet is a good place to search for the proper Hitch Mount Carrier that fits your requirements.
If you own a pet at some point you might have to travel with that pet. It is very important to take your pets well being and safety into consideration.

I have several great tips to help you get through the challenge of traveling with your pet.

If the pet is to be accompanying you on an airplane, consider calling several airlines and check if you're particular pet would be perhaps allowed to ride in the passengers' compartment, with you. Many airlines are letting certain sized dogs and cats do just that. Small pets are allowed to sit at your feet in their carriers. Other airlines will allow you to purchase a seat for the pet carrier.

One way or the other, you will need a carrier for your pet. When choosing a carrier, there are a few things to consider. For safety it is recommenced to choose a carrier that your dog can just stand up in, and be able to turn around in. This size carrier promotes the dog to lie down and rest and is much safer in case of sudden unpredicted flight shift changes. That could cause the dog to be hurt if tossed into the sides of the carrier with a greater force due to it being to spacious.

If your dog has a hyperactive personality and you are concerned that the pet may be very hyperactive and upset due to travel, speak to your veterinarian in regards to possibly prescribing a mild tranquillizer for the flight.

Never, let me repeat never attempt to medicate your animal without first having talked to its veterinarian. This practice is dangerous.

It is wise to feed your dog about 3-4 hours prior to travel on an airplane. This gives the dog a better chance of not experiencing nausea or vomiting. Make sure to give the dog ampul time to void before heading to the airport, and before putting the pet in the carrier, for the flight. Offer a small mount of water before putting the dog in the carrier.

It is also smart to book your flight in the morning hours. Many airlines have strict rules that pets cannot travel in cargo if the temperature is above 85 degrees. With an early flight as a rule this won't be a problem.

When packing your dogs supplies, pack the food and goodies that they are accustom. If you are traveling to a destination that you might have a fear of the water you will consume? Make sure you consider the water your pet will consume. You won't want your pet to develop digestion problems away from home. Pack one of the pet's toys, and if they have a favorite blanket, I would bring it along too.

When taking your pet outside, make sure they are leashed at all times. Pets (especially dogs) are creatures of habit, and could become lost in a strange environment.

Have a recent picture of your pet; in the case the pet becomes lost. Last but not least. Have a dog tag made before leaving home. The tag should have where you are staying on your trip. Add this tag with his excising tag.

This is beneficial, just in case you have not been able to locate your pet by the time you have to return home .At some point someone may find your beloved pet, and be able to locate you, with the good news. <bio>Sharon Stajda is a proud owner of a Westie.
