If I have learned anything in my thirty years of being a career counselor, it is that spending your life doing a career that you do not love is a waste of time. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that choosing the wrong career for you could be one of the most serious mistakes a person can ever make. Getting accurate career information is hugely important because of this.

Think about it. You will spend thirty or more years of your life working full time. That is a really long time to spend doing something that you do not absolutely love. The thing I hate seeing most is people who feel like they are tied in to a profession that they hate. I became a career counselor to help solve this problem. I love working with college students giving them proper career information that helps them to make informed decisions about career choices.

One of the most important ways to enter a career wisely is to inform yourself with accurate career information. I cannot stress enough how important it is that you discover the truth about any profession you are thinking of entering. The worst thing you can do is enter a career blindly. So take time and find ways to get career information about the careers you are considering.

One of the quickest ways to get career information is to make a meeting with a career counselor like myself. Meet with someone who is knowledgeable about many careers and who will help you find a career that fits well with who you are and with what you value. Whatever career you choose, it must be connected to something you value. It is a terrible thing to get up for work in the morning and realize that you could care less about your job and that it has no real value to the rest of the world.

You can also find great career information by doing an internship or by visiting different careers that interest you. For example, if becoming a teacher interests you, try helping out in a teacher's classroom for a few weeks and see if it is something you'd really enjoy. You will be so glad that you took time to try something before you made a commitment to it. After all, you cannot afford to keep changing your mind about careers and end up unhappy in the process.

Get career information and be one step closer to having a career that excites you and that fits your dreams and values. There is nothing better than that. <bio>Analeese Burnabaker loves giving people career information to help them make the right career choice. See http://www.careerinformationtimes.info for more on getting accurate carrer information for the job of your dreams. </bio>

If you are looking for the perfect career for you but are unsure of where to look or what to look for, then don't go any further without doing a career search. A career search is a great way to learn about potential careers without making any commitments or signing any contracts first.

The basic idea of a career search is two-fold. The first main purpose of doing a career search is to learn about all the possible careers that are available to be had as great professions. For example, you may know that some people make a great career out of being a chef, but have you ever considered being a chef that gets to travel the world and cook on cruise ships? Or maybe you have considered nannying as a career choice for you. With a career search you may learn that you can be a nanny in another country and make just as much money if not more.

The possibilities for making money and for enjoying your career are nearly endless. Do not let yourself get sucked into a job you hate simply because you haven't taken the time to find a career that is right for you. As a career counselor, I meet with far too many people each week that are stuck doing jobs they hate simply to pay the bills because they didn't know that other careers were really possible. So take my advice and do a career search before you make any other job commitments. You just may be missing out on a career you could love.

A second main purpose of doing a career search is to learn more about yourself. You may not even have a good idea of what kinds of careers would fit your personality and skills until you do a career search to learn more about yourself. Take time to do some of the personality and skill tests that accompany career searches and see what is right for you. If you are going to spend the majority of your life working, as most people do, than why not take your time and through a career search learn what is truly the best career for you.

Having a career you love is one of the most rewarding things in life. Doing a career search can be one of the easiest ways to discover what careers will bring you the best rewards. <bio>Triston Huntsmin is a professional career counselor that encourages all potential-workers to do a career search before making a long term choice about careers.
In our current society, recklessness and addictiveness run high among the population like never before. As this is the case, there has never been a better time to consider a career as a certified addiction counselor. As a certified addiction counselor, it will be your job to help people handle all kinds of different compelling behaviors, from heroin to shopping. It really doesn't matter that much what the problem is in particular, the fact is that there will be someone who is addicted to doing it over and over again, and can not stop without your help. The amount of good you can do in your job will give you satisfaction in your work as a certified addiction counselor like few careers would give you.

Of course, beginning a career in certified addiction counseling is not as easy as all that. Many of us have a skill for reading people and give good advice, but it takes more than this to become a certified addiction counselor Not only do you have to role in a fully credited professional program, but you also typically have to undergo some amount of supervised training before you are a fully credited certified addiction counselor and able to go off and help people, but once you have all of the training that you need, the possibilities are almost endless.

For example, many certified addiction counselors work in the private sector, taking patients for one on one visit independent of any institution. This has many advantages over some of the other jobs that a certified addiction counselor can do. One of them is, clearly, that the pay is better than working for a hospital or residential treatment center. Another one is that you can have full control over the type of treatment you will manage as a certified addiction counselor working in private practice. You are not required to manage whatever twelve step program is at present in fashion at the institution at which you work and can develop your own program specifically tutored to your patient.

Of course, it is more typical for a certified addiction counselor to work in an institution. This allows them to work closely with other professionals, and to really make a difference in the lives of those who have fallen farthest through their addictions. A certified addiction counselor in an institution works with people whose addictions are so severe that they have necessitated dropping out of society for a while to recuperate, and working with these people, there is just so much difference you can make! <bio>Luke T.
Are you searching for your dream career? Have you gone through many bad jobs, and are finally getting tired of it? Do you just want to find a career that you like? If you answered yes to any of these questions you are in the same boat as a lot of people. The bottom line is that finding a career that you like is not always the easiest thing to do. Some people go through many careers before they finally find the one that is right for them. At the same time, there are many others who find their dream career the first time out. Regardless of what situation you are in, you can find your dream career if you put your mind to it.

The first step to finding your dream career is determining what it is. After all, if you do not know what your dream career is, how can you ever find it? You can get information on many different careers by searching online or talking with a career counselor. The point is you need to know what is out there to find what you are interested in the most.

When you know what career you want to try out, you will then want to search far and wide for the best position. This can be done by going through the classifieds in your local newspaper and also using the internet job boards. The more jobs that you come across, the better chance you have of finding one that is your dream career. You should not make the mistake of only searching in one place or in one location. If you do this you will have a very difficult time pinpointing your dream career.

Overall, finding your dream career may take you many years. But one thing is for sure; if you put the time into searching for your dream career you will get it in the end. And all in all, this is the only thing that counts when everything is said and done. <bio>Francois Botha has written over 1000 articles on various career subjects.
Do you currently have the career of your dreams? If so, congratulations on all your hard work, because I'm quite sure that your success and accomplishment didn't happen over night. If you do not have the career you have always dreamed of, do not worry, you can get there. Career development isn't easy, but it is definitely worth it.

Career development can mean a lot of things. Here, for my purposes, I simply mean doing the things you have to do to get the career you really want. The first step in the process of career development is to figure out - really figure out - the career you want to have. This may be harder than it seems. You really need to know yourself, know what you're good at, and know what excites you. Not many people last long in a career that they hate. Career development begins with taking a close look at yourself. See a career counselor for even more help or to take tests that will help you to determine your personality and jobs that will fit it well.

Once you have determined a career or two that seems like it will fit you and your dreams, continue with your career development by discovering what needs to happen for you to be qualified for the career you want. Career development does not happen in an instant or even in a year, it may take years of hard work to get to where you want to be. It is important to be realistic about your goals and about the process. Does more education need to take place for your career development? Or perhaps you just need some special training courses in your field but you do not need another degree? Find these things out and then begin pursuing it.

Career development is important because I am convinced that it is important that people spend their lives on things they care about and feel like they can do well at. There is nothing worse than spending years of your life in an unsatisfying career. Fortunately, you do not have to let that be the story of your life. Take proactive steps that put you in control of your career development.

I guess what I'm simply trying to say is this: life is hard. Work is hard. Work is much easier and life is much better when it is doing a career that you love. Believe that it is possible for you to have a career that you love and then commit to whatever career development is necessary for you. It will be worth it for years to come. <bio>It took Martin Stoleman a few years to make it through the necessary career development for his now career as an author.
Preparing for career counseling can be lot like preparing for a job interview. You'll get out of it what you put into it.

You are probably expecting some help in determining your career path, but in order to do that, first you must decide what you do want and what you don't want in your life.

A career counselor isn't able to answer those questions. Only you can and you must be honest with yourself. The counselor is only there to guide you and help you find your strong points and weaknesses, your interests and skills.

You can prepare for your career counseling session by using this little routine:

Get out a sheet of paper and write down a list of all your strengths. They are not limited to workplace attributes, but also include your personality strengths. These are what you think are be your best features.

Now start a new list. This time include the things about yourself that need improving. Once again, these do not have to be related to the workplace, just issues about yourself that you know you need to work on.

Now it is time for brainstorming. For approximately ten minutes, write about the job in question. come up with questions you would like to ask the employer, what they expect of you, and write down your expectations for the employer and career.

Just write your sincere thoughts, this isn't about interview protocol. It is just to you thinking and warmed up for the counseling session.

Remember to keep an open mind. Your counselor will examine your history and then listen to what you have to say to determine what your best course of action is. You will most likely be asked to participate in activities you might not expect. You may also be asked about your negative qualities. These are normal parts of the counseling process and shouldn't be take personally.

Below are examples of activities you may be required to participate in:

Assessment Testing

These tests build a complete profile of your personality and abilities to help determine the work you are most suited to.

Mock Interview

Your counselor will play the role of the employer and ask you to answer routine interview questions. This way your interview skills can be assessed and your weak spots identified.

Information Session

You might be sent to meet with employers to simply ask about their company and typical workdays. You can make a good first impression without pressure on either side.

By taking the whole process seriously and being well prepared, you will be in a better spot to get more out of your counseling session. <bio>Jennifer Petersen is a staff writer at http://www.careers-digest.com and is an occasional contributor to several other websites, including http://www.education-digest.com. </bio>

First of all, before choosing a marriage counselor, they must check if there is anything that they can solve by themselves. After all, if love can bring them together, sorting out issues can be handled. If after a while, and after spending time and talking to each other, they find that it is not working, then they may seek a marriage counselor.

It may be the right time to approach a marriage counselor when there has been absolutely no conversation around the house for several weeks. The issues could be various, from stress at work, financial issues or even trivial things such as late night outs by either of the spouse. A good marriage counselor can help build the relationship to how it had been earlier.

A marriage counselor is a licensed therapist who can help married couples, or even unmarried couples, sort out their differences. They will be able to see through the problem with a detachment, which will allow them to give them very fair as well as practical pieces of advice. They will help the couple maintain a very healthy relationship.

There are several factors that need to be looked into when it comes to choosing a marriage counselor. First one has to make sure that they are licensed. There may be therapists and counselors who are not licensed, and it may be a mistake going to them even if they are known to the couple, as they may be capable of giving complete advice.

Most marriage counselors will need training much in advance before they get into actual practice. To ensure that the chosen marriage counselor has indeed completed training, would be a good move. They should also compulsorily be a member of the American Association for marriage and family therapy. The places where they practice from is also important.

Many of them will have private practices, and their own clinics. They may also work in hospitals, exclusive mental institutions or in nonprofit organizations. A couple could also ask the counselor if he has had experience with the type of problems that they are looking at, and if he is capable of handling the intensity of the problem.

Each marriage counselor must at least spend an hour with each couple, and this must also be taken into consideration, besides the fees that they charge for each session. One main thing that the couple will have to ask the counselor is how much time they need to spend with him. Based on this they may choose the counselor, as the one who cares will take the needed time to sort out the issues.

In case of emergencies, especially if either of the spouses is going through depression of a severe kind, the counselor should available. The couple should also check if the counselor is available at good hours, so that they may approach him when they can. The family doctor could be of great help in referring a good marriage counselor. <bio>Sig Yanosway has been a professional near the counseling field for 30 years.
People take their money very seriously. Once they realize that they are in a debt problem, they will do just about anything to get out of debt. If they realize they can't do it on their own, people often want to seek the advice of a credit counselor, but it is hard to know what to look for in a good credit counselor. Here are 4 signs of a good credit counselor that should help you in your decision

Free or Cheap

Good credit counselors are not going to charge you huge fees for their services. Most of the better credit counselors are from non profit organizations and they are normally free. If you find that you are being charged monthly for their services or that there are hidden fees in the check you write to pay off your debt each month, find a new credit counselor.

More than just a check

Many credit counseling and debt consolidation companies just take your money and pay your debts, end of question. A good credit counselor does just that; they counsel. They help you devise a plan that tells you how and where to spend your money; they essentially put you on a budget. If you need more counseling, a good credit counselor will give it to you.

Advise you to close your cards

This is a big one. Many credit companies help people pay off their debts, but don't advise them to close their credit cards or other forms of credit. This is important; if you want to stay out of debt; those cards need to be a closed. A good credit counselor will make sure you close them and set you up on a budget, so you don't need new credit cards.

Timelines

A good credit counselor will give you a timeline to pay off your debts. Every month you should receive a statement saying how much you paid, where it went and how much more you owe. If you are not getting this and you are just paying blind amounts of money, demand a statement. A good credit counselor will give keep you up to date on your progress. <bio>Visit Debt Sanity to view our http://www.debtsanity.coms online.
Do you still remember what you wanted to be then? An astronaut perhaps, or a doctor? Or a postal worker perhaps. With this, it is meant what you wanted to be when you were about three or five years old. It is probably safe to assume that you somehow have an inkling of what you want to be now, right?

If not, then you could probably consider a career counseling. It has been said that if ever one does not know where one should be going, then you will most probably end up in a different career.

Thanks to career counseling, it enables one to focus on where one should be going and just how it is to go there. A career counselor helps you to gain a broader perspective on yourself, your educational background and the possible career path that you could take. Always remember that is never too late to start on planning your career.

College or university choice

Believe or not, the choice of whether pursuing education through a college or university depends on you. Certain colleges for instance provide an education that is career oriented. This works especially for those types of people who need a balance between focusing on a job and education for the advancement of their career. There are programs that last for two, three years or just for one year.

Meanwhile, there are universities that provide science and arts program with a small number of specific and professional job programs. Programs in universities usually last a lot longer, about three or four years, or probably more. These are also tailored to students who enjoy studying just for the sake of it. Also, a university education is mostly a requirement for jobs such as a lawyer, doctor, or teachers.

Apprenticeship choice and vocational schools

There are also apprenticeships that are now available that students could readily take. Believe it or not, occupations that offer higher rates of pay are those that require skills. Vocational schools have a range of choices and options that students could choose from.

Schools such as these emphasize career training similar to those in colleges, but their programs are a lot shorter. Of course, since these schools are not subsidized by governments, their tuition fees cost a lot more. Students should be aware that vocational schools are good and that are bad. Of course, these types of school works well for those students who are in a hurry.

Schools that lead to direct employment

This type of school is the usual choice for most students in the secondary level. Records show that for one hundred students in the secondary level, about thirty of these will drop out and go to work. Meanwhile, eighteen of these will study in university and about fourteen will go to college, and about two will be under apprenticeship.

Therefore, approximately sixty six from these one hundred students will be entering the work force and get jobs that pay well. Of course, there will be others who could try a lot of other jobs until they find that one job that fits them well.

These types of persons are usually browsing for a career, in that they move from one job to the next. Of course, the reality is that most companies now require education, this applies even to jobs that are in the entry level. Any options a student has to better their chances must be thought of carefully.

Why choose career counseling

A career counselor can help a student see the maze of choices and possibilities that are available and finally choose the one that best suits them. Be aware though that a career counselor does not choose a career for you. What they do is provide students with an evaluation of their skills and abilities as well as the work that are available out there.

Career counseling is not easy, but going through it sometimes could lead to possibly successful career choices.

Be self- aware

One stage of career counseling is helping students establish self- awareness. At this stage, any of your interests, skills, values, abilities, personal sensibilities, will have to be discovered. The questions commonly asked in this stage include; what are the activities you most enjoy doing? What are you good at?

Questionnaires can help in providing an objective perspective on aspects about yourself. By this stages end, any information relevant to your career needs are summarized. The implications of these results should mean something to you.

All in all, career counseling will work to your advantage if you let it. All you need is an open mind to accept possibilities yet a determined focus to be what you think you want to be. <bio>For more great counseling related articles and resources check out http://bestcareers.info </bio>

Are you a high school senior who is staring graduation in the face and you still don't have a clue as to what you want to do with the rest of your life?

Take a deep breath. This is not as hard as it seems. I am a mom who has helped her own seniors navigate the shark-infested career waters and listened to their own screams of "I need help deciding what career to choose!"

Here are some steps you can take that will make you feel much, much better.

1. Talk to your parents.

Especially if you haven't already. Try to stay calm and focused during this conversation. Here's what you need to remember about your parents. They really, really, really want you to succeed. And they are probably willing to help you in a variety of ways, but they need to hear from you, too.

So let them know that you are having a tough time deciding on career ideas. Tell them you are going to do some serious research over the next few weeks to try and get a clearer picture of what path you should take. Ask them for any insight they can give you as to what they think would be a good fit for you.

Then listen. Very carefully.

Here's the deal. Your folks have lived with you a long time. Probably longer than anyone else. They have unique insights into your character and abilities. You need these insights.

They probably are a bit biased, too. They want the best for you; the trick is their ideas about what's best and your ideas about what's best for you may not match exactly. That's the part where you need to stay calm. Think of this as a fact-gathering mission. Be objective. Take notes (that will impress your folks, trust me). Then keep your end of the bargain by rolling up your sleeves and doing some serious career research...immediately.

2. Talk to your school guidance counselor.

Most high schools these days are a wealth of resources for your career research. Think about it. Your high school's mission, on some level, is to prepare you to be a productive adult in society. That means career research is one of their primary tasks!

Take advantage of everything your guidance counselor can offer you career-wise. Things like...

* Career aptitude tests and assessments * Personality testing * Meetings with college representatives * Financial aid information * Vocational job training opportunities * Career information

Don't be shy and ask lots of questions. Dive right into learning all you can about yourself through these career resources. Take a ton of notes. Schedule another meeting with your parents and show them everything you've learned. If you have another trusted adult in your life, talk with him or her about what you're learning about yourself, too.

3. You'll start to see a picture emerge.

What career fields have popped up from your research? You should have a handful by now. Go back to your guidance counselor and ask where you can find accurate information about each of these career fields. There is also a lot of information available online through trade journals and government labor departments. If you can, talk to someone who is already working in the careers you are researching.

Dig, dig, dig and find out all you can about the careers that are interesting to you. How much do they pay? Where can you find them (do you want to live in a city or rural area?)? What kind of educational requirements do they have? You get the picture.

4. The money.

If you are in the US, there are a tremendous amount of financial aid programs available to help you attend college. Since you're already a senior, there's probably no time left to improve your grades or take the courses that you now know you'll need in college. Simply learn from that lesson that next time it will make things easier for you if you look ahead a bit, make a plan and be committed. After all, you are investing in yourself!

Again, talk to your parents and your guidance counselor about money for college. Most college students pay for their education through a combination of cash, loans, scholarships, work study and part time jobs. You can, too.

Go to places like fastweb.com to research scholarships that would be appropriate for you. Your parents will probably have to fill out the FAFSA. That is simply a financial aid form that the US government provides to standardize the scholarship process. Your folks will need to fill it out even if they believe that you are not eligible for any need based college money. The FAFSA gets used to determine more than just that, trust me! Your guidance counselor can fill you in on the details.

Feeling better yet? The sooner you get started on this process, the sooner you will be looking forward to graduation with great confidence. Remember, "I need help deciding what career to choose" is actually one of the smartest things you can say right now. Saying that out loud can get you started on the path to your wonderful future.

Go for it! <bio>Colleen Langenfeld has been parenting for over 26 years and helps other moms enjoy mothering more at http://www.paintedgold.com.
Counselors are professionals whom we approach for advice when we encounter a problem or difficulty in our lives. Counselors depending on their area of specialization are of different types like family counselors, marriage counselors, and career counselors to name a few. These people are specialists in their respective fields and are equipped with the requisite experience and expertise to handle various kinds of problems.

Coming to marriage counselors, they like all counselors are patient listeners who would also be in a position to offer you sound advice to rectify the problems in your marriage and to put your life or marriage back on the right track.

They give you a patient hearing, understand your individual problem and analyze the gravity of the situation and provide a solution accordingly. The services of a marriage counselor are very useful to those who desperately need a listener to pour out their woes. Marriage Counselors maintain total confidentiality regarding their clients and the information divulged. They can be trusted to discuss all your problems so that you are able to find a good solution to improve your relationship and save your marriage.

Generally, couples that are faced with problems in their marital life and are unable to find a solution on their own, seek the help of marriage counselors. They provide advice and have an unbiased scientific approach and can therefore help in bringing the couple together by finding a solution to their problems. A counselor provides a number of services to bring the couple together.

=B7 He gives a patient hearing to his clients.

=B7 The counselor helps the couple to discuss problems, which they had problem bringing up.

=B7 He is able to give an unbiased judgment after listening to the two parties (the husband and the wife) and also is in a position to guide them to make the required changes for a better and happy relationship.

=B7 Issues that the couple had probably overlooked or avoided are brought to the table for discussion by the marriage counselor.

=B7 He helps them to identify and accept the things that cannot be change.

Marriage counselors can be of great help to couples who have ceased to find a solution to their marital problems but for whom the desire to save their marriage still exists. It is important under such circumstances that they seek professional help from a marriage counselor rather than letting their marriage fail. Approaching a marriage counselor with their problems should not be a last resort. The step should be taken as soon as one partner finds cracks building up in their relationship. Seeking timely help of a counselor would help restore the marriage.

A marriage ideally is for a lifetime and if a little help from someone who is a specialist in the field can help, why hesitate to take the first step? <bio>Sig Yanosway has been a professional near the counseling field for 30 years. There are many reasons that most children do not grow up with intentions of being a farmer, but probably the single biggest factor in their choice comes from what they see their parents doing.

As the number of farms and hence farmers has decreased steadily in our country, it only makes sense that fewer and fewer children and teens are being raised with a desire to be a farmer themselves. There are, after all, a wide variety of professions that are far more exciting and that pay far more money than being a farmer.

I did, however, meet one young boy whose life ambition was to be a farmer. When I asked him about it, he simply answered that he wanted to be a farmer because he loves being outside and he loves helping people get food. I thought this was quite a profoundly simple answer. I asked if he knew anyone that was a farmer and he replied that he didn't. He said that he read about being a farmer in a book at school and that he figured it was the best way to ensure that hungry people could eat.

As a career counselor, I am always attentive to the reasons why people are choosing particular careers. This young boy was entering a career because it sounded like a great way to enjoy something he loved while doing something that helped society. If only every person would think about those two factors when they decided to enter a profession then our society would be a much better place. I see far too few people know what they are passionate about and how their passion can make a positive difference in the world. Not many people have their stuff together as well as this little boy who simply wanted to be a farmer.

Before you decide to be a farmer or to enter any other profession, you need to think through your goals and your talents quite seriously. Whatever profession you choose should be something not only that you love, but also something that does something good for someone else.

Think about my small farmer friend the next time you need to be inspired in choosing a career that is best for you. Think about his simple desire to be outside and to help people get good food to eat. And then be inspired to do something equally as simple and as passionate. <bio>Hallidae Thomason is a career counselor that loves directing people into great careers. She wishes, however, that everyone would know themselves as that tiny farmer boy did.
Choosing a career path is one of the most important decisions you'll ever make--but how do you decide what is right for you? You may take a career path that uses the skills you have or the education you've gotten. You may even choose a career based on what you think you "should" do--because of what your parents or teachers have told you is right for you.

But you may not know that you are naturally more suited for some careers than for others. Why? Each of us has an individual personality type that affects how much we'll like a job.

Think, for instance, about a carpenter versus a counselor. A carpenter works with concrete objects, according to specified procedures, and has a tangible result. A counselor works with people and their feelings; she has to judge success and the results of her work based on abstract concepts. Which of these sounds more appealing to you? Do you have a strong preference for one or the other?

Now, imagine if you had to make your less-preferred choice your career, and you will get an idea of the impact that your personality has on your job satisfaction. There is quite a bit of variation in how people think and process information, what they see as important, and how they make decisions. All of this variation can affect how happy or unhappy someone is in a work environment. Each one of us has different criteria for what a great job is, and to find your own perfect career, it is crucial to identify what is important to you.

The first step is to figure out your personality type. The most common personality test used for career counseling is called the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. This personality test measures four facets of personality:

• Extroverted/Introverted--Do you get your energy from being with people, or being alone? • Sensing/Intuition--Do you see what's actual, or what's possible? • Thinking/Feeling--Do you make decisions with your head or your heart? • Judging/Perceiving--Do you like to make decisions, or keep your options open?

There are many ways to find out what your personality type is. Some people prefer to read about the types and choose what seems to fit best. There are also free quizzes on the internet based on the principles of the Myers-Briggs that can give you an idea of where you may fit.

However, if you are serious about finding out what type you are, the most reliable and accurate method is to take the official Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. This is a scientifically validated instrument that will identify where you fall in each of the categories. This assessment can only be administered by someone trained in its application, and must include a consultation with a trained coach or consultant according to its licensing guidelines. You can take the personality tests through a career counselor in your area, or online. If you take it online, you will typically get the results the same day, and you can usually request a special report that will go into detail about what is important to look for in a career.

Once you have figured out your personality type, you will want to look at the careers you are considering and evaluate whether they fit what's important to you. Some questions to ask yourself:

• How much time will I spend interacting with people? Will it be too much/too little? • To what extent will I be expected to follow standard procedures? Will I feel restricted by too much structure? Will I feel frustrated by too little? • Will this job require me to use logic and reason things out? Will it require me to use compassion and consider how decisions will make people feel? Am I comfortable with the extent to which I will have to act based on thinking or feeling? • How much latitude will this job give me to make my own schedule? Is it too little? Too much?

It's important to be realistic about what a job entails, and to ask as many questions as possible about prospective jobs so that you can evaluate how well they'll fit you. As you learn more about yourself, you will become more able to judge which jobs will bring you satisfaction. <bio>Molly Owens holds a B.A. and an M.A. in Psychology. She has a background in counseling, education, and the corporate workplace, and a passion for helping people discover the careers that will bring them lasting satisfaction.
By definition, a career is an occupation undertaken for a significant period of a person's life, which typically offers opportunities for progress. When it comes to choosing a career path, it's important to consider a number of factors and how they may affect your future.

It isn't always easy to know what you want to do tomorrow, much less 10 or 20 years from now. Right? This is why so many people often struggle with choosing a career, but there is one way to improve your ability to choose the right path. If you choose a job in a field that you already love, work will be enjoyable and you may find yourself with the perfect career. Many people have turned their hobbies into a career, while others have used their talent to land them the perfect job. If you have an interest in a certain topic, find yourself passionate about a hobby or simply have a natural talent, it may be worth considering as a future career possibility.

During your search for the perfect career, education will undoubtedly play a significant role. For certain careers, you may need a specific type of degree or certification. If this is the case, it's important to look at various colleges and what they have to offer. Some offer job placement assistance, which is important to those who are new to the workforce. Speaking of which, your geographical location may impact your ability to succeed in a particular career. In some cases, you may find yourself in a situation where relocating for a job is a requirement in order to find success within a specific field. When choosing a career, it's important to consider your willingness to travel and/or permanently relocate.

As mentioned earlier, a career generally is a job that offers the potential for progress. If you find yourself in a rut, you may lose interest in your career choice, so consider selecting one that will give you the chance for advancement. As is the case with almost everything in life, progress is an important part of happiness.

Have you ever heard someone say that money isn't everything? Well, it's true. With that being said, it's important to note that money is necessary and the career that you choose will greatly determine your livelihood. Some careers are naturally more profitable than others, but the key is to look for a career that offers you a combination of financial stability and will provide you with enough left over to save for retirement. Regardless of your age, it's never too early to think about the future and how to prepare for it.

The information contained in this article is designed to be used for reference purposes only.
It is not easy to have a difficult marriage. And it becomes more difficult that you do not want to show the world that your marriage is not a healthy one. You try to avoid sharing this situation to your friends and family. All you want is people see your marriage as a great one. No fight, no conflict, everything is fine.

You, and hopefully your partner, still want this marriage to last. You just don't know how to deal with it. Handling all the conflicts between the two of you is not something you master. You need somebody to help you both. To solve this catastrophe in your family.

You must get help. And let's stop thinking about 'divorce'. Not even saying it.

Get the secrets to help you solve your problem. Check them out below:

1. Get a Marriage Counseling

Getting a marriage counselor is often the best way to help the crisis in your marriage. It is even better if you get one as a part of your marriage maintenance plan. Marriages have a better opportunity to success when the couple goes to marriage counseling. A counselor can really make a difference in the worst situation. He or she helps you to understand your partner better because he or she has no biased opinion.

So, why not find one now? Go to local churches as many of them will offer this service for free. Or, find it online or in the local yellow pages.

2. The Reasons for Using a Marriage Counselor

A good marriage counselor can make a difference between getting separated, divorced or staying together, no matter how big your marriage problem is. Some of the things that you can work through with the help of a counselor are:

• Work on marriage maintenance from the start

• Help you admit defeat every now and then (though you're right, it's unwise to end a marriage over a disagreement)

• Make passion a top priority in your marriage

3. What You Can Expect from a Marriage Counselor

A marriage counselor will take you to a few sessions of therapy to work out problems in your relationship. This therapy often begins as the couple analyzes the good and bad aspects of the relationship, then help you learn to change how you and your partner interact with each other to solve the problems. Why? Because both of you have contributions to whatever that comes in the relationship.

4. How Much Will a Marriage Counselor Cost?

The average cost for marriage and family counseling is around $100 per session. Not to mention that you need to pay for the initial fee, which is about $40. However, if you are unable to pay for it, you can also find non-profit organizations for a free service. You can also ask your company if it offers free counseling for its employees and families. Go find a counselor. No matter how much it costs, as long as your marriage is saved, it's worth it.

5. Counseling for the Entire Family

It is normal to have conflicts within the family. However, when normal conflicts turn into so much worse, it's big chance that family members begin to hurt each other emotionally. Thus seeking counseling for everyone is a good idea. It will try to help them learn how to reduce the problems. Families can learn how to effectively deal with problems by getting a family counselor. <bio>Adwina Jackson is a working mother of a gorgeous young boy.
I couple of years ago I went through somewhat of a depression. I guess that is fairly normal, but I ended up going to see a counselor to talk through my issues. Being a counselor myself, it felt kind of strange at the beginning, but I did it anyway. Why? I guess because I am a firm believer that sometimes healing comes only as we get outside of ourselves and share with others. Anyway, one of the first things my counselor suggested that I do was make a list of things that intrigued me and that I'd like to learn about. Ever since then, I have been working my way through my list. I guess it is sort of my life goals in a way. I'm currently working on memorizing and being able to write the Chinese characters.

Learning how to write the Chinese characters was somewhere in the middle of my list. I'm not sure what exactly inspired me to include it on my to-do list except that I've been to China once and I still cannot get over how beautiful the written Chinese characters are. So their beauty intrigued me enough to want to learn them. So last fall I enrolled myself in an introduction to Chinese class and began plugging away at learning the Chinese characters.

The Chinese characters have proven to be as hard to master as they look. I thought they would come easily for me since I have at least a little bit of artistic talent. But no. They didn't. I have had to really discipline myself and practice consistently to grasp even the most simple Chinese characters. Many friends have suggested that I just quit because they know that I don't have any intention of ever learning how to speak or communicate the language.

There is something in me that cannot quit learning the Chinese characters though. Maybe it is because I am really trying to learn commitment to even small things and because I am trying to accomplish all of my goals. I just know that when my counselor suggested that working towards goals we care about can be really healing for people, I took her words to heart and have found that they are true. I have found a great amount of healing by focusing in on the things I want to see happen in my life. Even small things like learning to write the Chinese characters have taught me so much about myself. <bio>Analeese Burnabaker is a counselor who is happy to receive the counsel of others.
In today's day and age there are many career choices that you can consider. But when it comes down to it, a nursing career is among the most popular. Over the past five to ten years careers in nursing have really taken off. If you are looking for a new way to make money or simply want to change careers, you should look into nursing. With the demand as high as it is today, you should not have any problems finding a job as soon as you are qualified.

The great thing about a nursing career is that you can get a job in a number of different settings. Of course you can work at a hospital if you are interested in a nursing career, but there are other options to look into as well. For example, you can work for a private health care practice and work in a doctor's office. As long as you keep an open mind you should not have any problems finding a nursing career that suits your needs.

And if money is on your mind, a career in nursing is also a good option. Even though you may not be making as much as other medical professionals such as doctors or surgeons, you will make a decent amount of money. And the great thing is that nurses usually start off with a relatively high salary. This is a huge advantage as opposed to having to work your way up the corporate ladder.

Overall, a nursing career may or may not be right for you. If you think that you would fit into this industry you should gather some more information on a career in nursing. You may find out that a nursing career is what you have been searching for. It only takes about two years to get the degree that you need. So if you think that you would make a great nurse and that you would love the job, start looking into where you can take classes. <bio>Francois is the creator of http://www.career-descriptions.co.uk and an author of many nursing career articles.
