Get Struck with Natural Beauty and Luxurious Estates at Cap Cana, Dominican.

Cap Cana, Dominican Republic, is set to be the world's next great destination, as is bannered in its official website. This is far from fiction. The plan for Cap Cana includes the largest inland marina in the world, a number of luxury hotels, villas, and beach clubs, five golf courses and private estates. The master plan is to make Cap Cana the top tourist destination, this side of South America.

Known sports celebrities and businessmen have their sights on the land of Cap Cana, Dominican Republic. In fact, 3 of the golf courses are signature golf courses of professional golf player Jack Nicklaus. One of these signature golf courses, the Punta Espada has already debuted at number 77 ranking on the 100 best golf courses outside the US territory. The 2008 PGA Tour is slated to be staged right at Punta Espada.

Global businessman Donald Trump, on the other hand, is developing "Trump at Cap Cana," a real-estate project sprayed on 1.5 acres of land. It is such a promising real-estate development project that it was chosen by the May 2007 winner from the Apprentice reality show to be under her direction. It wasa officially launched on the same month and the real-estate project is called Trump Farallon Estates.

Cap Cana, Dominican Republic has targeted the marina to be one of the most modern in the Carribean with about 1,000 slips that will cater to mega-yachts. In fact, Cap Cana is already part of the map having already participated in the West Palm Beach Boat Show and the International Marinas Stand or IMA. The IMA is attended by foreign dignitaries around the world.

Despite of the architectural and engineering projects, the country aims to maintain it as an ecological and environmental wonderland, implementing the latest designs and technology while still preserving nature at Cap Cana Dominican Hotel Resort project. <bio>Author is an expert traveller, especially in Europe and The Island's.
One of the most important factors to take into account when going to vacation to someplace is the weather. Punta Cana weather is one of the most attractive features of this vacation spot. The temperature and maritime conditions on Punta Cana are perfect to practice water sports and to enjoy comfortable time there. Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic offers tropical weather during the whole year. Like in most tropical areas the weather seasons are divided between summer and winter. The term winter here is a bit loose since there are no extreme cold conditions like in some other places around the world.

The weather in Punta Cana during the seasons doesn't vary drastically. The summer time ranges from May to October, and it gets a temperature of approximately 31=B0C and 22=B0C during day and night respectively. During summer the humidity can be quite high, raising the feeling of the temperature to a couple of more degrees. The mountains in Dominican Republic are a way cooler environment than the coast where the max temperature can go up to 16=B0C and to 40=B0C in the deserted areas in the southwest. The rain in Punta Cana take place mostly in the summer time but even then the showers are quite short and last a couple of minutes which is another advantage for spending a vacation there. Some thunderstorms can happen during this time of the year producing large amounts of rain, but these are very seldom and produced by severe weather systems.

The Punta Cana weather provides a winter where the temperature range is from 29=B0C to 20=B0C. The humidity during this time of the year that goes from November to April is very low. That means very low chance of rain and very mild temperatures. The reigning blue skies and shining sun make this one the favorite times of the year for vacationing in Punta Cana. Since Punta Cana is located in the eastern coast the weather, there is mostly hot even in the colder months but the typical difference of two or three degrees from summer is quite worth it.

The hurricanes that can develop in the Caribbean are a major point of consideration when thinking of vacationing here. These powerful storms appear during the hurricane season that goes from June to November but typically the months of greater risk for the area of Punta Cana are August, September and October. The hurricanes that affect the area usually have a hit rate lower than one per year, so as long you keep an eye on the weather reports you can vacation there even during the summer. Weather in Punta Cana can be tricky but one of the best tips for going there is to use winter time to avoid any hurricane risk and to have a very comfortable temperature. <bio>Article Source : http://www.puntacana-travelguide.com </bio>

The beautiful island nation of the Dominican Republic, on the larger island of Hispaniola, has always been an island destination for tourists. Visitors can take tours of the island by boat or by plane and enjoy the beautiful beaches and tropical weather from the comfort of their hotels. As well, the Dominican Republic has some of the best casinos in the world within its borders. With 31 casinos and gambling facilities spread throughout 12 Dominican cities, the Dominican Republic has a great variety of places to have fun and gamble.

The center of Dominican Republic casino culture is the capital city of Santo Domingo. With eight casinos spread throughout this beautiful city, visitors and natives to the island can enjoy fun at tables and slot machines. The king of Dominican Republic casinos is the Barcelo Gran Hotel Lina and Casino, which is a combination of beautiful casino space and impeccable hotel rooms. The Lina Casino, a renowned gaming facility in the Caribbean, features 45 machines and 16 tables for visitors' gaming pleasure. The Lina Hotel features 217 rooms, with an extensive office service and updated spa and pool area. When gamblers and visitors want to get away from the roulette wheel or the poker table, they can sit down at one of two restaurants connected to the hotel for buffet style or international cuisine.

There are several other great Dominican casinos in Santo Domingo, including the quaint Hotel and Casino Naco and the versatile Occidental El Embajador Hotel and Casino. Both feature beautiful hotel rooms and comfortable gaming facilities with more than 40 machines and a dozen tables to keep you winning big all day long. For those who are at the El Embajador and want to get out of their room or away from the craps table, they can head over to El Jardin del Embajador, a restaurant with international cuisine, or Los Porches, a nice little coffee shop.

For those who want to find a casino in the Dominican Republic and venture away from the lights of Santo Domingo, there are plenty of options. The quaint charm of the Casino Playa Chiquita in Sosua is a quick fix for the gambler on the go. One of the best casinos in the Dominican Republic, the American Casino, is located outside of Santo Domingo at Puerto Plata. With a 40,000 square foot gaming room and hotel, 80 tables and machines, and a direct connection to the beautiful beach, the American Casino is a true treasure of the Dominican Republic casino scene. <bio>This article is the property of http://www.dominican-republic-casinos.com </bio>

The Sivory Punta Cana Reviews almost caused us to cancel our vacation We chose The Sivory Punta Cana Dominica Republic, despite the bad reviews because there were also some good reviews, and in the end we think it justified its boast that it was one of the best small luxury resorts in the Caribbean, one of the real Caribbean Hideaways.

The road to the Sivory Punta Cana is pretty bumpy and the taxi fare isn't cheap, somewhere between $60-$80 depending on whether you use a taxi or a van, although having said that it was really only the last few miles

We stayed in a deluxe junior suite with a plunge pool, which extremely well laid out and furnished. It had all the usual smellies in what was an awesome bathroom. It had a giant tub, a two person shower, which I had always wanted to try!!

The hotel grounds were beautifully landscaped and maintained, and there was a superb spa and gym. We liked the pool, and the pool area, but feel it necessary to point out one or two things that stops the Sivory Punta Cana from being one of the best small luxury resorts in the Caribbean.

Firstly the food isn't that fantastic, although there are items that aren't on the menu that they will make, but only if you ask. The menu is limited, and the items like lobster are in fact extremely good, but very pricey.

This may be a good reason for taking the all inclusive option, because not only can you have the better items, your drinks are of course also included. Add to this the fact that room service is free on all inclusive.

It is important to understand that if you are paying for individual items, there is a 26% tax to add to the price. On a $12 pina colada, this makes it $16!!

Whilst the minibar is free, and it contains beer coke and water, they won't replenish it unless you ask, and you are wasting your time asking the housekeeping staff..

Check your final bill carefully, because we had items added we didn't have. For instance our transport didn't appear when we went home, and we had to pay a taxi, b ut it was already an item on my bill!!

Finally if you like lots of action then The Sivory Punta Cana isn't the place for you. There is nothing to do here, it's miles from anywhere, and it has no nightclub, so just relax and unwind.

We thankfully ignored the The Sivory Punta Cana reviews, we had a great time, the staff were wonderful, it is a great Caribbean hideaway, and with a bit of care it could be one of the leading small luxury resorts in the Caribbean. <bio>Penny Larcombe writes exclusively for http://www.worldwidevacationspots.com and he has in depth knowledge of the places she writes about, and recommends checking out http://www.in-kenyasafari.com as well. </bio>

A Caribbean Vacation to the Dominican Republic is something that many many people do every year. What is stopping you from taking a Dominican Republic Vacation Package this year?

It is most likely because you don't know what a vacation to the Dominican republic would be like.

You probably don't know that the Dominican republic at 18750 square miles is one of the largest islands in the Caribbean. This only means that you need to do some research because on an island the size of the Dominican Republic has parts you will like a lot, and others that you won't.

As an example the south east corner is the agricultural side and it has an exciting high quality night life. On the other hand the southwest part of the island is more arid, less crowded and more desert like. Research is important otherwise your Caribbean Vacation to the Dominican Republic could end up a major disappointment because you end up on a part of the island not to your taste.

Some of the top destinations for a Dominican Republic Vacation and ones that perhaps need deeper investigation could be the following. .. Cabarete on the north coast is the place to go if you are young, it is a fun place to be with good water sports, is considered by many to be one of the top places in the world for windsurfing and kiteboarding. It is also a great place to surf, mountain biking, horseriding, canyoning, and lots of other adventure sports.

Sosua on the north coast has a beautiful sheltered beach with white sand, and clear turquoise sea. This is the place if you want to go snorkelling and scuba diving, and there are good restaurants.

Playa Dorada is a gated resort community and is where most of the All Inclusive Hotels are found and is on the north coast. You can do almost anything in the way of recreation here, from golf courses to casinos, , and there is a long white sand beach, but get out of the community and there is a lot of things to see and do.

The Playa Grande Cabrera area has spectacular unspoiled white sand beaches and some exclusive villas. Playa Grande beach is one of the best ten beaches in the world, and there is a beautiful golf course here.

Las Terrenas is on the Samana Peninsula in the northeast, with a beautiful white sand beach and calm sea. This has a Mediterranean feel to it, and is a very relaxing place through the mountains.

Las Galeras also on the Samana Peninsula is a remote spot with boutique hotels, hidden beaches and is a real romantic getaway.

Punta Cana on the east coast is totally Caribbean postcard, and some good all inclusive hotels.

Bayahibe on the south coast has a really tranquil setting, a great beach, and the not to be missed National Park

La Romana also on the south coast includes the 7000 acre Casa de Campo with two golf courses and some very exclusive villas. The word luxury springs to mind here.

Juan Dolio on the south coast is the Dominican Republic's Riviera

Boca Chica also on the south coast is a place with smaller hotels, where you are much closer to local life, and there is good diving here.

Finally Santo Domingo which is the sophisticated and cultural Capital of the Dominican Republic.

Further investigation by you of these area of the Dominican Republic will enable you to decide on, and then plan for the perfect Caribbean vacation to the Dominican Republic

For more information about Caribbean Vacation Spots go to http://www.caribbean-vacationspots.com/pages/Site-Map.html <bio>Gordon Steven writes exclusively for http://www.caribbean-vacationspots.com as well as http://www.worldwidevacationspots.com and has visited personally many of the places he reports on, and has done extensive research on the others </bio>

The Dominican Republic is a small and beautiful Caribbean island made popular with the continuous influx of tourists, high quality, and affordable resorts dotting the many palm-tree lined golden beaches. As compared to many other Caribbean destinations today, The Dominican Republic real estate market still offers best-priced properties at excellent water front locations. Though the island is yet to gain a growing economy status, it remains a much desirable holiday destination just like the other islands of the Caribbean. Tourism is the main stay of The Dominican Republic while the number of tourists is growing at an unprecedented rate.

A Heaven on Earth

Columbus spotted a coral-rimmed island in 1492 and named it Hispaniola. He also proclaimed, "This is the fairest land under Heaven." And this is really true of The Dominican Republic. Home to the highest mountain range in the Caribbean, this country shares the island of Hispaniola with Haiti and offers some of the most spectacular beaches in the world.

There are a few destinations on the island, especially along the southern coast between Santo Domingo and La Romana that make some of the most popular tourist destinations and The Dominican Republic real estate a highly profitable venture. Not only do these places make an ideal family getaway destination, but also are refreshing and rejuvenating experiences especially when you can wade 100 yards from the shore in crystal-clear waters and yet be only waist deep with nothing but soft clean sand underfoot at Boca Chica. However, it is Boca Chica's exciting nightlife making it a popular singles destination. Moving towards the east along the southern coast is the huge Casa de Campo =96 the biggest and probably oldest of all Caribbean resort cum residential communities along with its Pete Dye designed 18 hole gold course, ranked #23 in the world by Gold magazine, and famous Teeth of the Dog.

Toward the eastern tip of The Dominican Republic, real estate is expensive and luxurious. The swanky and glittering Punta Cana with its sparkling white sandy beaches and dazzling emerald green Caribbean Sea waters make it a high profile and elite dig. The 30-mile stretch from Puerto Plata to Sosua and Cabrete spilling over with all the major tourist attractions and has become the first choice with expats and offers property at attractive prices.

Type of Dominican Republic Real Estate

A Caribbean island that is also a great country and offers easy living and endless possibilities to explore =96 The Dominican Republic is a good place to do business, as the rules are easy and hassle-free. Historical colonial zones, large farmlands at the base of the mountains, and sprawling villas on the water front, sounds too good to be true? Well, it's true! The Dominican Republic Real Estate everything we just mentioned and its all true. Bargain prices, great beer, mesmerizing music, stunning vistas, and warm, vivacious people make every moment you spend on the island a worthwhile experience. Besides this, The Dominican Republic is also an attractive retirement paradise with a highly lucrative property option that offers good potential returns on investment (around 30-40% over 5 years) making it a safe property investment market. The Dominican Republic real estate costs around $320,000 for a 1000 square feet two bedroom luxury apartment or Caribbean style condos =96 fully furnished with two levels, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a huge balcony costs around $230,000 to $255,000 only! <bio>Seth Willis is the webmaster for http://www.planetpads.com and a savvy real estate investor.
A holiday to Dominican Republic can be for relaxation, sightseeing or sunbathing on the beach or you could plan a gaming and casino vacation. After a day of sightseeing, you might enjoy a dinner at one of the popular restaurants and them a night at the casinos. Try your luck at slots or the game tables. It never costs a lot of money to gamble and have fun, because you are going to win some money when you play the slots. The game tables have friendly and happy dealers who are always willing to explain the game to you.

The casinos are very user friendly and have ATM machines and they do cash traveler's cheques. You can also charge your game chips to a credit card if that is more convenient. Many people have come away and said that they were able to make enough money so their trip is going to be free. They do take time to study the tables, walk around the casinos, and get a feel for the place. You will have enjoyable nights in the casinos whether you gamble or not. The casinos are found at most of the resorts and open for everyone.

Golf in the Dominican Republic is just as much fun as the casinos. In the central region is the Las Aromas Golf Course, which is an eighteen hole course with a seventy par. The view from the golf course is just beautiful. You can even enjoy a free lesson from a pro if you need one. The Jarabacoa course is nine holes with a par of thirty-six and considered a course for those that are beginners or looking for a quick game of golf on a well groomed course.

The east coast golf courses are well groomed and very interesting to play. There are fourteen different golf courses to play. Pete Dye designed the Dye Fore and it is said to be a challenging course. The Punta Espada Golf Course was designed by Jack Nicklaus and has every challenge an avid golfer could want. Some top designers also designed the other golf courses in the east coast region. The south coast region has five golf courses and the north coast has two. Playa Grande is a sea cliff course with ten holes being along the sea cliffs. It is a beautiful course to play.

When you think about cheap travels to Aruba, you never think about the gaming and casinos or the golf course. The thing everyone must remember is that Aruba is a beautiful area and everyone enjoys the weather and the things to do. The beaches and the nightlife are also very enjoyable. Forget about packing the cool weather clothes because the weather is warm and the breezes are soothing but warm. You will have a great time in Aruba. Take enough time to visit the area and see the unusual things as well as the more popular things.<bio>If you are planning on having a fantastic vacation in the Dominican Republic then do read the article Visit The Many Attractions Of The Dominican Republic at cheap holidays 24.</bio>

A holiday to the Dominican Republic is going to be exciting. The Colonial City is only a short mile long, but it has so many things to see inside the walls. Located in Santo Domingo, this city has monuments, statues, historical buildings, plazas, parks and churches as well as museums, forts and palaces. The streets are cobbled and it takes about three hours to see everything. You could easily spend an entire day and take your time to see everything. Do not forget to see the House of Cord, which is the oldest building and the Alcazar Palace. These places are fascinating to see.

The next place to plan a stop at is the Columbus Lighthouse Monument. It is located on the east shore and looks out over the Ozama River. The length of the lighthouse is 693 feet. An image of a cross is reflected into the sky from the lighthouse light. It is said that the remains of Columbus are housed inside the lighthouse. It is a great place to visit. The next place to see is the National Aquarium. It is only a mile away from the lighthouse. There is a variety of marine life to see and you will see the newest manatee that was rescued and is now housed at the aquarium.

The Plaza de la Cultura and the Los Tree National Park are two other places to see. The plaza has museums and theatres that have some interesting things to see. The theatre has dramas, musicals and the opera to see. The park is created from caves. The lagoons are beautiful and the stalagmites and stalactites are something to see. The Indian tribe Columbia Taino used to have religious ceremonies at the park many years ago. The park is a unique experience to have.

You can visit Amber Coast to see the Amber Museum or the Mount Isabel de Torres. The museum is unique because it has the very valuable amber of the Dominican. The amber is actually called a precious gem, but is really harden tree resin. It is said to be the most valuable in the world. At Mount Isabel de Torres, you can take a cable car ride to the top and look out over the area. There is a botanical garden at the top and a restaurant to sit and enjoy a meal or a drink. This is quite an experience and you see the area in a new perspective.

A holiday to the Dominican Republic should include a stop at Brugal Rum Factory, Fuerte San Felipe and Samana Peninsula. You will enjoy seeing these places as much as the rest of the Dominican Republic. The Amber Coast and Santa Domingo are fascinating places with many things to see and do. You will have more time to explore other areas of the area and see more beautiful buildings and sights as well. Enjoy the weather and talk to some people that will share many stories with you about the life and history of the area.<bio>The article you just read is an excerpt of the article Visit The Many Attractions Of The Dominican Republic.
Casa Colonial Beach and Spa, is the only real five star hotel in the Dominican Republic. Unlike many five star hotels it is in many ways closer to being one of the best small inns and hotels in the Dominican Republic, with only 40 rooms but also in the whole Caribbean.

We decided to have Christmas in the Dominican Republic, and as we will only stay in five stars, and we don't like all inclusive, we were very restricted. So after reading up a lot of reviews we selected the Casa Colonial for our vacation, and we really had no regrets.

The Casa Colonial Beach is a very attractive small hotel, which has a beautiful kind of open airy feel to it.

The bedrooms are a very good size, large marble bathroom, huge tub, and separate shower, and importantly double wash hand basins!! We had a first floor garden view room, which was very secluded, and it had a very large patio.

We both used the spa and gym facility, and found them very good, and not over the top.

The first thing that struck us was the service, always with a smile, always very attentive, from the moment we arrived , when we were served with a well needed drink whilst we checked in, to the moment we left. Everything from wanting to carry our plates at breakfast to helping adjust sun beds.

We enjoyed the pool which never seemed too busy, no fight for beds, with a very reasonable restaurant for lunch, where the food was good, not too expensive, and even the drinks were not over the top. The same could be said for the food in the restaurant, but this does bring me to what we felt was the biggest drawback to the hotel.

The Casa Colonial Beach is situated on a beach, in a gated secure area, and is surrounded by the all-inclusive hotels I hate. The beach therefore was crowded, and not with the type of people I necessarily wanted to be close to on a vacation. . Although in fairness not on our bit of private beach, which was well served with loungers, and bar service, but you just didn't want to go for a walk along the beach.

As all-inclusives mean guest eat in, there was no alternative but our restaurant for food. In other words we couldn't just go out and eat in a local restaurant, because there really wasn't much to choose from, and any taxi drivers we used all said the food at the Casa Colonial was the best, and the hotel was the best on the island.

Having said all that we had an extremely pleasant stay at the Casa Colonial Beach and Spa, and a very nice Christmas, if a little expensive a day, and would recommend it with the provisos we described <bio>Peter Stewart writes exclusively for http://www.in-kenyasafari.com as well as http://www.worldwidevacationspots.com and he has in depth knowledge of the places he writes about. </bio>

Sanctioned by the International Baseball Federation, the WBC is participated in by various national teams from all over the world. The first tournament was held from March 3-20, 2006 in various stadiums in Tokyo (Japan), San Juan (Puerto Rico), Orlando (Florida, USA), Phoenix (Arizona, USA), Anaheim (California, USA), and San Diego (California, USA).

During this inaugural edition of the World Baseball Classic, 16 countries adjudged as the best baseball-playing countries in the world were invited to send their national teams. These sixteen teams were divided into four pools, namely:

=95 Pool A =96 Japan, China, Korea, and Chinese Taipei =95 Pool B =96 Canada, Mexico, South Africa, and the United States of America =95 Pool C =96 Cuba, Netherlands, Panama, Puerto Rico =95 Pool D =96 Australia, Dominican Republic, Italy, Venezuela

The tournament was a conducted in a round-robin style of competition, wherein each team played once against the other three teams in the pool. The top two pool leaders of A and B were put together in the second round into one new pool (Pool 1), and the top two pool leaders of Pool C and D were put together in a new pool (Pool 2) also for the second round. Again each team in the new pools played against the other three once, with the top two from each pool put together in a single elimination pool for the semifinals. The champions and runner-ups of each pool face each other for a single game, with the winners facing each other for the finals to determine the champion.

In Pool A, Korea emerged the winner (3-0) while Japan came in second, while Mexico and U.S.A., each with a 2-1 win-loss slate, emerged as the winners of Pool B. These four winners formed Pool 1 for the second round.

On the other hand, Puerto Rico (3-0) and Cuba (2-1) led Pool C, while, in Pool D, the Dominican Republic (3-0) and Venezuela (2-1) clearly dominated. These four formed Pool 2 for the second round.

The second round again saw Korea (3-0) dominate Pool 1 to move into the single-elimination pool, with Japan, who tied with the United States and Mexico with similar 1-2 win-loss records, but became the second team from Pool 1 for the single elimination pool due to a better standing in the tie-breaker assessment. In Pool 2, the Dominican Republic and Cuba led the pack with identical 2-1 win-loss records. The Dominican Republic emerged as the champion in this pool due to a better standing in the tiebreaker assessment.

The single-elimination round for the semifinals was one characterized by upsets wherein runners-up Japan and Cuba beating Korea and the Dominican Republic respectively. In the final game, Japan defeated Cuba to become the first champion of the World Baseball Classic.

The next WBC tournament will be held in 2009, after which the tournament will be held every four years. All you have to do is live there for a few years, and you too will be wealthy.

This erroneous vision was fostered in the 1980s with the crack epidemic centered in Washington Heights, an area located north of New York City and predominantly populated by Dominican immigrants. Thousands of dollars in cash were sent back to the families, who still lived in the Dominican Republic.

Though the days of easy money have passed, the Dominican poor still believe that, if only family member can reach the U.S. and remain for a few years, he or she could bring the entire family remaining in the Dominican Republic out of poverty. Thus, the Dominican Republic is the largest exporter of immigrants to the New York City schools. Dominican immigrants now comprise ten percent of the 1.1 million students in the New York City schools.

These young New York City schools immigrants face particularly difficult problems as they attempt to acclimate into American society. They face the pressures to integrate at school, while facing the pressures to remain the same at home. Parents too face challenges with the New York City schools.

The first problem is culture shock. In the Dominican Republic, children always must defer to their elders and hold their tongues, having no way to express their own feelings or opinions. In contrast, children quickly learn in the New York City schools that American children are vital members of society, like any adult. They realize that adults care what they think. They become more outspoken both at school and at home, finding the social freedoms compelling and liberating.

Parents feel themselves losing control of their children, who are shedding their cultural restrictions. They view New York City schools children as arrogant and flamboyant, with no respect for their elders. Such contrasting expectations between children and parents cause stress at home. Of course, many parents blame the New York City schools for their children adopting these attributes, where they did not wish to send their children anyway.

The Dominican immigrant home environment is not always conducive to learning. For impoverished families in the Dominican Republic, education is not a priority, as it is with the wealthy families there. Though early schooling is free for children, it is seen as a costly endeavor for families just trying to make ends meet. Clothing for school, meals, school supplies, books, and transportation are luxuries for such families. According to the World Bank, 13 percent of children ages 7-14 work outside the home, rather than attend school. According to Unicef, 16 percent of children ages 10-17 are illiterate. Usually, one or both parents have little or no education, due to less long-term educational exposure for children of poorer families. Is it any wonder they may resent the mandatory law for their children to attend the New York City schools?

Though cultural differences present a major obstacle, language is the biggest difficulty for these immigrant children in the New York City schools. According to Robert Mercedes, Principal of Middle School 390 in the Bronx and President of the Association of Dominican-American Supervisors and Administrators, Dominican children arrive at the New York City schools lacking the basic native-language skills of the Dominican Republic. This makes transitioning them into the English language even more difficult.

They feel like outsiders in the New York City schools. They are in a language and cultural isolation. They are generally dumped into bilingual classes at low-income schools, and feel more of a burden to the New York City schools than an equal to the other students. The victim mentality takes over for many of these youth, who separate themselves into close-knit ethnic groups. They are especially vulnerable to street gang recruitment, which pervades the areas around the ghetto-like atmosphere of some of the New York City schools they attend.

On one side, the New York City schools are a haven of new opportunities for the Dominican children and their parents. Yet, these same opportunities can be the downfall of the immigrant family values and the children, as well. It is a dual-edged sword, afflicted with stressful difficulties and insurmountable obstacles for many. <bio>Patricia Hawke is a staff writer for Schools K-12, providing free, in-depth reports on all U.S. public and private K-12 schools. Though the island's own smoking population is low (eleven percent), smokers looking to sample Bahaman cigar craftsmanship should start with Graycliff cigars.

Associated with the famous Graycliff resort hotel, this unique company makes a small line of well-crafted handrolled luxury cigars. This odd combination--resort hotel and cigar company?--resulted from the purchase of the sprawling Graycliff property by the Garzaroli family in 1973. As a resort, Graycliff was a more than sensible investment for the Garzarolis--with its eighteenth-century colonial house, its restaurant with an internationally-famous 250,000-bottle wine cellar. In 1997, the Garzaroli family decided their profitable resort needed its own line of luxury premium cigars, and they contracted with Avelino Lara, a Cuban cigar legend who once rolled cigars for Fidel Castro himself, to assist in the creation of a line of six cigars that, say aficionados, vary in taste but not in excellence.

The red-banded Graycliff and blue-banded Graycliff Professionale are recommended for new smokers, while the Graycliff Crystal, Graycliff Emerald, Graycliff Espresso, and Graycliff Chateau Grand (all identifiable by corresponding-colored bands; the Chateau Grand is purple-banded) are recommended for those who prefer a fuller taste and more aged tobacco.

Dominican Republic

Twenty percent of the population of this Latin American nation uses tobacco. But probably near one hundred percent of serious premium cigar smokers in the United States have enjoyed cigars from the Dominican Republic. The FuenteFuente Opus X is one of its more recent hits, but the country is one of the world's oldest sources of tobacco. The crop has been cultivated in the Dominican Republic for many centuries, especially in the fertile Cibao Valley. For many decades its produced-in-country cigars were overshadowed by the worldwide dominance of the Cuban cigar.

But the Dominican Republic benefited from the same Castro-era stogie diaspora that lifted the cigar industries of Nicaragua and Honduras. In 1959, as Fidel Castro and Che Guevara, with their revolutionary guerilla army, overthrew the Juan Battista dictatorship that had dominated Cuban politics for decades, many of the island's most prominent cigar-producing families, fearing that Castro's state-socialist regime would expropriate their homes, companies and fortunes, departed in search of new and politically safer places to live.

Between the departure of many of Cuba's best cigar makers, several of whom chose the Dominican Republic as their new home, and the soon-in-coming United States embargo on trade with Cuba, which put an end to that country's US sales, the cigars of the Dominican Republic had a chance to attract notice. The embargo outlasted generations of activist efforts to change it, even becoming federal law due to the 1992 Cuban Democracy Act and the 1996 Helms-Burton Act, all of which allowed the Cuban cigar industry to be challenged, some might even say eclipsed, by cigar makers in neighboring countries.

Some of the Dominican cigar makers thus enabled to win dedicated United States fans included here include La Aurora (the oldest continuously-operating factory in the Dominican Republic), Arturo Fuente, Davidoff, La Flor Dominicana, and La Gloria Cubana. Three strains of tobacco are used by most of these Dominican cigar makers--the native Olor Domicano, a mild salty leaf seen most recently as the wrapper for Davidoff's Dominican puro; Piloto Cubano, a strong strain derived from Cuban seeds stolen by Carlos Torano on his way out of that country in 1959, and used now often as filler; and light, slightly acidic San Vicente, used for both binder and filler.<bio>CigarFox provides you the opportunity to build your own sampler of the finest cigars that include cigar brands like Montecristo, Romeo and Julieta, H Upmann, Macanudo, Cohiba, Partagas, Gurkha and many more. Choose from more than 1200 different cigars! Other cigar products include cigar humidors, cigar boxes, and cigar accessories like Zippo Lighters.</bio>

The rebounding of the premium-cigar market is one of the oddest business success stories of the past fifteen years. With an aging customer base, decades of competition from cigarettes and overall consumer trends indicating a decline in smoking in general, many observers had written off premium cigars as yesterday's luxury item--until 1992, when the industry showed significant fourth-quarter growth. Two years, and lots of media coverage later, cigars had positioned themselves as the break of choice for an increasingly young, increasingly dual-gendered market. By 1996, the industry was seeing 36 percent first-quarter growth.

So, like many people, you're probably curious about the trend, and wondering what you're missing out on. But cigars, like classical music and other fine things, shouldn't be rushed into. There are many varieties to choose from, and newcomers can find the sheer amount of choice more bewildering than beguiling.

First of all, make sure you're buying premium cigars! The machine-rolled, mass-produced items found at many local drug stores and gas stations may cost less--but they taste like it. Why not make sure you're tasting the kind of hand-rolled, carefully crafted cigar that makes fans out of new smokers? You can find premium cigars at local specialty shops (which have proliferated during the last decades' "cigar boom"), or on the internet at any of various online cigar emporia.

Secondly, think about the kind of taste you're interested in. You can tell, roughly, by the wrapper--the darker it is, the sweeter it tastes, while light-colored cigars have a complicated, dry effect. Newcomers have fallen in love with both kinds; it's up to you. An experienced friend may be able to make a recommendation, as would cigar specialty magazines and websites; many first-time cigar smokers also try premium-cigar samplers.

To ease your path, here are some recommendations: some of the best-loved cigars in the world, going country by country.

The Dominican Republic makes more of the premium cigars bought in the United States than any other country. Such giants of the premium cigar industry as Arturo Fuente, La Aurora, Davidoff, La Flor Dominicana and La Gloria Cubana, Romeo and Julieta, Trinidad, Montecristo, Macanudo, and H Upmann operate here. The Cuban revolution of 1959 resulted in many of that island nation's greatest cigar makers relocating to a more capitalism-friendly nation, and the Dominican Republic received the lion's share of these expatriates.

Honduras, too, is an important nation for the cigar-smoking world. After the Cuban revolution of 1959, many of the great Cuban cigar producers (who didn't go to the Dominican Republic!) resettled in Honduras, making the country a haven for cigar-making talent--a reputation strengthened all the more by the history of cooperation between the governments of Cuba and Honduras. Maybe that's why Honduran cigars are the second-most popular in the US (after the Dominican Republic). Some well-regarded Honduran cigars include those from La Fontana, La Libertad, Camacho, and Carlos Torano's Honduras Selection.

Another post-1959 cigar powerhouse is Nicaragua. Despite the chaos of many years' civil war and military rule, as well as a temporary end to cigar production during the 1980s when the ruling Sandinistas directed the country's tobacco producers to make inferior cigarette-grade tobacco--and, finally, a terrible hurricane in 1998 that destroyed seventy percent of the country's infrastructure, Nicaragua continues to make some of the finest cigars in the world. Like Honduras and the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua benefited as well from the Castro-era dispersion of Cuba's cigar-making powerhouses into other parts of Latin America. Its cigars continue to dominate international rankings. Some of these brands include CAO, Perdomo, Padron, Don Pepin Garcia and Drew Estate.<bio>CigarFox provides you the opportunity to build your own sampler of the finest cigars that include cigar brands like Montecristo, Romeo and Julieta, H Upmann, Macanudo, Cohiba, Partagas, Gurkha and many more.
The main attraction of Europe is in the history and centuries old architecture that speaks volumes by itself; Czech Republic is no exception to this rule. Prague, the capital city is filled with bridges that keep it connected as the Vltava River runs through it. No old European city is complete without imposing old Cathedrals; however, Prague's uniqueness is not only in its old rustic, red roof tops features but also in the fact that it is a modern metropolitan city as well with all the amenities and technology that you may require or need.

Czech Republic casinos draw a lot of crowds both locally and tourists wise. Czech Republic counts 43 legal casinos in total spread around the whole country with Prague sheltering no less than 11 of them. The Admiral Casino Colossuem, which is also in Prague, is the largest of them all. The Admiral Casino Colossuem has approximately 8 game tables and 160 slot machines.

Czech Republic casinos usually follow the same schedule as far opening and closing hours are concerned; the doors will open for early gambling enthusiasts at about 2 pm and usually close around 4 - 5 am when everyone has had a fair chance to provoke lady luck to look and smile their way.

The official language in Czech Republic is Czech, which has Slavic origins however, most people speak and write English fluently especially the personal of Czech Republic casinos. The legal age to gamble in the Czech Republic is 18 years of age and the same applies for enjoying any alcoholic beverages as well.

The Czech Republic may reflect centuries and centuries of history but it is a relatively new country as it was officially formed on January 1st, 1993 when the Czechoslovak Federal Republic split in two parts to form Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The new formed country went ahead and joined the European Union in May 2004.

With all the old and new changes occurring in the Czech Republic it attracts even more tourists each year. The flooding in the tourism industry is dully noticed by both the government and business people who make every thing possible to entertain them with everything in their power; thus, plans for even more casinos are on the way to open for the pleasure of the gamblers and of those who still believe in lady luck.

Book a vacation today and explore this beautiful European country, which will make you want to come back time and again for its history as well as the excitement and glamour of its casinos. <bio>This article is the property of http://www.czech-republic-casinos.com </bio>

How would you like to go on a timeshare vacation and leave your wallet behind? This is surely a recipe for disaster--unless you vacation at an all inclusive resort. These ever-popular timeshare resorts charge you one fee for everything from your room to your meals. You can vacation like the elite without ever having to worry about paying a check because there are none! Different packages include beverages and activities, so you can sip frosty drinks by the pool or play golf without ever seeing a bill.

There are several all inclusive timeshares waiting for you to enjoy in exotic places such as Mexico and the Dominican Republic. The beautiful Royal Sunset in exquisite Cancun, Mexico is an excellent choice for anyone interested in some wallet-free fun and sun. The Dominican Republic's Talanquera Vacation Club in Juan Dolio is nearby the historic Santa Domingo and features crystal blue water and soft sand beaches. Both of these timeshare resorts are completely all-inclusive and have several packages with different levels of inclusion. If you would rather head to the hills instead of the beach, Austria's LTH Resort at Alpine and Golfhotel Interstar. Set among the breathtaking Salzburg mountains, this all inclusive resort is perfect for the outdoor enthusiasts. Whether your passion is skiing, tennis, golf, mountain-biking, hiking, or climbing, this resort is an excellent destination. All inclusive timeshare resorts have different packages depending on the options in which you are most interested. Additionally, prices of the timeshare may vary depending on the season. When you decide to invest in an all inclusive timeshare, be sure to ask exactly what is covered. One timeshare resort may offer only one inclusion package and others may have different options for inclusions from which to choose .

There are all inclusive timeshare resorts located in many parts of the world, from Egypt to Brazil. Just as with traditional timeshares, knowing all the details before you purchase will save you a great deal of money and grief. If possible, you may wish to visit a property to become familiar with the area and the resort's features. As is the case with all timeshares, you would still have the option to exchange your all inclusive timeshare which would allow you to vacation at new properties each time.

Although purchasing an all-inclusive timeshare may be more expensive upfront than a traditional resort timeshare, you may save money in the end. By taking an all inclusive vacation, you know exactly how much you are spending, whereas traditional vacations can quickly add up when meals, drinks, and activities are added to the bill. If you have ever returned home after a fabulous stay at a traditional timeshare only to be shocked by the pricey bill you racked up, then an all inclusive timeshare resort may be just the right option for you.
Ready for a vacation? Relaxing and boding with your family doesn't need to be expensive. Here are ten fabulous cheap vacations for budgets under $1,000.

1. A family of four can enjoy the great outdoors at a National Park for under $1,000. Buying some gear, getting there and park fees will not set you back too much. If you are really ready to be rustic, cook on a small camp stove or even over an open flame to save cash.

2. Take the kids to the most magical place on earth: Disney World. This popular theme park offers holiday deals to make this destination fit almost any budget. By booking during value seasons and staying at a value resort, you can get all of the fantasy and fun for a fraction of the cost.

3. Look to discount carriers like Southwest and JetBlue when booking a flight. By getting a deal on airfare, you could afford to take your family to some pretty remote destinations. Try Cochran, Ontario where you and your loved ones can bunk in a real igloo.

4. If you're the kind of parent that likes to make every experience educational, take your family to Boston, a city dense with landmarks. By staying in the city you can easily get to Freedom Trail, a walking tour that will take you through the highlights.

5. Maybe you enjoy sleeping outdoors but are not ready to give up a hot shower in the morning. Visit a hot spring destination!

In Hot Springs, Arkansas you can camp to save on lodging and still enjoy soaking away your day in the springs.

6. Adventurous adults making their way through Europe can save a lot of money by staying in hostels. Hostels are lodgings where travelers can stay for very little money. Though there is little in the way of quality control, they are perfect if you just need a place to sleep for a few nights before making your way to another city.

7. For a romantic vacation with your partner, check out travel packages on a cruise. Lines like Carnival frequently offer deals, some as low as $500. Book a trip to the Caribbean and spend your vacation walking slowly down some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

8. Travel the country by Greyhound Bus Lines. Greyhound will take you all over the United States so you can pick the cities you have always wanted to see. Try taking a bus overnight allowing you to sleep on board and be at your destination in the morning.

9. If you want to escape to an island for your vacation, check out Dreams Cancun Resort and Spa in Mexico. You can get a travel package that includes round trip airfare and three nights at the Resort for only $571.

10. If Mexico isn't your style, you might try the Dominican Republic and, specifically, the Punta Cana Resort. This particular spot offers rooms as low as $150 per night, though the scenery is still five stars. <bio>Concentrating on latest news in Madrid, Peter Wilson writes articles most often for http://www.alicante-spain.com .
Celebrating weddings in Toronto is a multi-cultural event. So by keeping that in mind, there are many different wedding celebrations, because each culture has their own wedding traditions. This article will focus specifically on Czech Republic wedding traditions. So what makes a Czech Republic wedding different from that of a Greek wedding or Italian wedding? For starters, Czech Republic wedding traditions are preserved and they date back several hundreds of years. Of course, some Czech Republic wedding traditions are newer than other traditions and some are old, very old, in any event, that is what makes a Czech Republic wedding tradition unique.

As is with every wedding ceremony, reception and celebration, the focus is the bride and the Czech Republic weddings are no different. Czech Republic brides have to follow the old adage "wearing something new, something old, something borrowed, and something blue." In a Czech wedding ceremony, a bride wears the garter to signify something blue, something that will come in handy as the day wears on. The part about wearing something borrowed stems from wearing a piece from a friend who is already married. The friend does not have to be the same nationality just married a very important trait in the Czech tradition. The last two points, something old, has to come from a family heirloom, possibly jewellery or a veil, all depending and something new is something that the bride wants to symbolize and a new beginning in hers and her husbands life.

As is the case with most marriages, a Czech wedding has most of its traditions take place at the reception. And to get the festivities started at the reception, someone designated within the wedding party breaks a plate to not only signal the beginning of the party, but to introduce the bride and groom and to symbolize happiness. Cute things that take place in a Czech wedding are that the bride and groom share many dining things together, they eat soup together, there is only one spoon only so symbolically, and they are forced into each other together. This symbolizes that they are united and that they have to compromise for the good of the both of them. Another fun tradition is several hours into the party, the friends of the groom kidnap the bride and hide, the groom has to quickly find his bride and if he fails to do so in a certain period of time, the groom has to buy the bride back from his friends, this symbolizes that the groom has to take care of his precious wife forever.

So in conclusion, a Czech Republic wedding in many ways is no different from a Greek wedding or an Italian wedding, however, in so many ways a Czech Republic wedding is so different from a Greek wedding and an Italian wedding, and it is the subtleness of those differences that makes traditional weddings in the most multi-cultural of settings and cities so different and so beautiful!<bio>Wedding Photography in Torontoabylon is proud to offer a spectacular experience for your entertainment needs.
