Whatever your reason for wanting to learn more about testicular cancer, there are many different places you can go to get the information you desire. The most obvious place would be the library, as there have been countless books published on the subject. Over the course of a man's lifetime, he has a 1 in 250 chance of being diagnosed with the condition. This makes testicular cancer one of the more common types of cancer. Fortunately for those who have already been diagnosed, there is a 90 percent survival rate overall associated with testicular cancer. If a guy catches it in the earliest stage, it is estimated that the survival rate is around 95 percent.

Still, just because fewer people die from testicular cancer doesn't mean it should be taken lightly. If you know anything about testicular cancer, you know that it doesn't discriminate. No matter how healthy you think you are, it can still wreak havoc on your body. Take, for example, Lance Armstrong. He was arguably one of the world's best athletes, definitely in shape and taking care of himself, when his world got rocked by a testicular cancer diagnosis. While he battled his way through it, testicular cancer almost killed him. Another popular example is Canadian comedian Tom Green, who lost a testicle to the cancer and made a documentary about his experience.

While testicular cancer affects more Caucasian men than any other race, people of all ethnic backgrounds should know as much about testicular cancer as possible. You are most likely to be diagnosed when you're between the ages of 15-40, but it is also found in infants and men over 60. It's very important to know the symptoms of testicular cancer, so you're aware of what is normal and what you need to see your doctor to discuss. When you know a lot about testicular cancer, you can safeguard yourself from having it develop into something that can't be controlled. <bio>Learn more about Testicular Cancer at the Mens Health Forum.
Cancer is one of the worst things to hear from your doctor. Cancer, it sounds like a death sentence but it just doesn't have to be so. Consider these facts about cancer.

There is no form of cancer that someone hasn't beaten and recovered from.

Statistics tell us that more than 50% of all serious types of cancer can be cured.

The fact is that cancer is a unique and deadly condition that you can over come if in fact you understand the condition and use every resources that you have to fight it, you can overcome it.

Understanding The Disease

There are several things to consider about this disease. First, it is unlike any other condition because of the way that it mutates. It doesn't go from being one cell to being two, then three, and then four. Instead, it goes from being one cell to two cells, to four cells, to eight cells and so on. This is what allows it to grow so fiercely in the body. Because of this factor, promptly fighting it is a must.

Another thing to consider about cancer is how it can easily move through the body. Since it takes a billion cancer cells to be as large as a small pea, you can see just how easy it is for cancer to get into your blood stream and travel to virtually any area of your body. To complicate this even further, every type of cancer, from lung cancer to breast cancer and so on is a different condition. Each cancer is unique. Each needs their own treatment protocol then.

What It Takes To Overcome

Here are three things that are necessary when it comes to overcoming cancer. Believe it or not, you need to be in control of each of these phases as no one can fight it harder or better than you.

1.Prompt treatment. The smaller the amount of cancer cells in your body, the more likely you are to have a treatment that works successfully for you. Pre-screenings and testing is a must for everyone. There is no limited population that is immune to cancer.

2.Thorough treatment. In many cases, the type of treatment that you have will get rid of your condition in one case. If not, it may not be possible to continue with the same treatment. For example, if you have radiation, your body can only have a certain amount. If the cancer is not gone after that point, you can't have more. That's why it is important to have a thorough treatment and follow every single step in the process to a T.

3.Mentality. Probably the most important condition that is required when it comes to fighting cancer is having the right attitude about recovering. A positive attitude is a must and without it, you may just not survive.

Understanding cancer and giving your body what it needs to recover from it is a must. When you do this, you will improve your life and chances considerably. <bio>Michael Lewis is part of the writing team at http://www.mightylife.com where you can find more articles about cancer and survival. </bio>

If you're a guy, particularly if you're in the 15 to 40 age range, you should know what the symptoms of testicular cancer are. Over the course of your lifetime, you've got a 1 in 250 chance of getting diagnosed with testicular cancer. While that may not sound like terrible odds, when you take into consideration how the cancer will progress if left undiagnosed and untreated, you've got too much to lose not to be aware of what to look for. Nobody is immune from testicular cancer, as Lance Armstrong showed the world. Tom Green made a documentary to raise awareness, as he ended up losing a testicle to the potentially deadly condition.

There are several symptoms of testicular cancer that you may have if you've got it, including loss of sexual appetite, blood in semen and a significant increase or decrease in the size of one of the testis. If you notice any of these symptoms, it's absolutely imperative that you see your doctor as soon as possible. Testicular cancer is one of the least deadly, killing roughly 10 percent of those diagnosed. If caught in stage 1, only 5 percent of people diagnosed will die. The earlier that testicular cancer is caught, the better for the person affected.

Other symptoms of testicular cancer include pain and tenderness in the testicles, a dull ache in the groin or abdomen and a lump or hardening of one of the testicles. Treating the cancer can be a difficult thing for the patient to go through, sometimes chemotherapy or removal of the testicle is the only way to rid the body of the cancer. Also, if you've already had and beaten testicular cancer, you aren't out of the woods. It has been known to come back, even if one of the testicles has been amputated. <bio>Want more tips on spotting the symptoms of Testicular Cancer?
If you've recently been diagnosed, or are worried you might have it, you might be asking yourself what is testicular cancer? As you may have guessed by the name of the disease, testicular cancer is a form of cancer that is found in men's testicles. Over the course of a man's lifetime, the odds of him getting testicular cancer are roughly 1 in 250. Surprisingly enough, the age group most affected by it is relatively young. It is most commonly found in males aged 15 to 40, and men are most frequently diagnosed in their mid twenties. Fortunately, the survival rate for those who have been diagnosed with testicular cancer is extremely high, approximately 90 percent. In fact, stage 1 testicular cancer has a survival rate of up to 95 percent.

Now that the question of 'what is testicular cancer' has been answered, let's talk about the symptoms. Some of the most common symptoms are blood in the semen, loss of sexual appetite, tenderness or pain in the testicles, a lump or hardening in one of the testicles or an increase (or drastic decrease) in size of one of the testes. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, it is imperative that you see your doctor as soon as possible. While testicular cancer is rare in African American males, the incidence of it has doubled in that particular demographic from 1988 to 2001. It is also possible for infants to get testicular cancer, and incidence actually peaks in that age group as well as in men age 60 plus.

Between 7,000 to 8,000 men are diagnosed in the United States each year, and if you've overcome testicular cancer in the past it can come back. Recently, testicular cancer has been in the media quite a bit. Former Tour De France winner Lance Armstrong was diagnosed and almost died of testicular cancer, as did Tom Green and Richard Belzer. So what is testicular cancer? It turns out, it's something that no man is immune from. <bio>Learn more about what is testicular cancer at the Mens Health Forum.
Considering that 1 in 250 men will be diagnosed with testicular cancer at one point or another, knowing which testicular cancer symptoms to look for can be a life saving bit of knowledge. When you think about it, the statistics are staggering. Not only is testicular cancer fairly common, but it can affect any age group. While you're most likely to be diagnosed with testicular cancer while you're in the 15 to 40 age bracket, everyone from infants to the elderly are at risk. On the bright side, testicular cancer is one of the less deadly forms of the ailment. The mortality rate for testicular cancer as a whole is only around 10 percent, and when it is caught in the earliest stage that number drops to approximately 5 percent.

Still, many people have died from it and it doesn't matter how healthy you are. Take, for instance, Lance Armstrong. The man was a living legend and had won the Tour De France several times when he was diagnosed at the peak of his career. While he ended up living through it, testicular cancer was almost the end of this American Hero. As a result, a huge movement started with people buying and wearing yellow rubber LiveStrong wrist bands. Aimed at raising awareness, the little yellow bands did their job. All that, and many people still don't know many of the testicular cancer symptoms.

If you're unfamiliar with testicular cancer symptoms, please hop online and look them up. There are several of them, many of which are relatively obvious. Others, however, might not send up as many red flags. For example, did you know that dull pain in your lower abdomen is a symptom of testicular cancer? I certainly didn't, until I did my homework. I suggest you do some of your own, it could just save your life one day. <bio>Learn more about Testicular Cancer symptoms at the Mens Health Forum.
When a doctor wants to evaluate the progress of colon cancer of one of his patients he or she uses a method called Staging. This method is about finding out to what extent the tumor (colon cancer) has spread to the other regions of the patients body. Once the doctors figured out in what stage the colon cancer is, they will develop the best course of action or treatment.

At this point in time the system that is most commonly used for the staging process of colon cancer is called the American Joint Committee on Cancer's (AJCC) TNM staging system. Simply put this system used for staging places the patients into one of four stages.

Stage 0

Stage 0 also known as carcinoma in situ or colorectal cancer. In this stage the colon cancer has been detected in the innermost lining of the colon.

Stage I

In this stage the colon cancer has already begun to spread. But the cancer is still in the inner lining of the rectum or colon. In this stage the colon cancer has not reached the outer walls of the colon yet. Stage I is also known as Duke A or colorectal cancer.

Stage II

In this stage the colon cancer spread more deeply into or through the colon or rectum. Possibly the colon cancer may have affected other tissue as well. In this stage the colon cancer hasn't reached the Lymph nodes (bean-sized structures which can be found in the entire body that helps the body fight all kinds of infections and diseases. Stage II is also known as Duke B or colorectal cancer.

Stage III

When you are in this stage the colon cancer has now spread to the Lymph nodes although it hasn't spread to nearby parts of the body. Stage III is also known as Duke C or colorectal cancer.

Stage IV

In this stage the colon cancer has spread through the Lymph node system to other nearby tissue. This is most commonly called metastasis. The organs that most likely are affected are the lungs and liver. Stage IV is also known as Duke D or colorectal cancer.

Recurrent Colon Cancer or Cancerous Cells

When doctors talk about recurrent colon cancer they mean that cancerous cells that have already been treated have returned. These cancerous cells could possibly have returned as colorectal cancer but they might as well return in any other part of the body too. <bio>By Kyle Greatbatch http://www.colon-health-01.com </bio>

Ovarian cancer, as in all other forms of the disease, is graded by treating doctors according to its level of advancement. The stages of ovarian cancer are graded one to four, with four being the most serious stage.

Stage one of cancer of the ovaries is the least advanced stage. This is where the cancer has been discovered relatively early in its development and has been confined to the ovaries only. In stage one, as in all the other stages of the disease spread, there are also sub stages, and they run as follows:

Stage 1a: The cancer is contained inside one ovary

Stage 1b: The cancer has spread to both ovaries

Stage 1c: The cancer is contained to one ovary and there is some evidence of cancerous cells appearing on the ovary's surface.

Stage 1d: The cancer is contained to one ovary and there is some evidence of cancerous cells found in the abdominal fluids.

Stage 1e: The cancer is contained to one ovary and the ovary ruptures either before or during surgery.

In stage two of ovarian cancer, the cancer has spread to be outside the ovaries. The cancer is also designated as being stage there if cancerous cells are found in the lymph nodes of the upper abdomen or groin.

The sub stages of stage three run as follows:

Stage 3a: Cancer can be seen under the microscope in tissue taken from the lining of the abdomen (peritoneum)

Stage 3b: Tumorous growths smaller than 2cm are discovered on the lining of the abdomen

Stage 3c: Tumorous growths smaller than 2cm are discovered on the lining of the abdomen, or the lymph nodes in the upper abdomen, or the groin or behind the womb contain cancer.

Stage four is the most advanced of all forms of ovarian cancer, where the cancer has spread into other body organs such as the liver or lungs. <bio>Fred Camaros is a medical researcher and writer.
Cancer is one of the few serious health conditions for which we can't always pinpoint a cause. We know exactly how serious health conditions such as AIDS are contracted, but cancer is trickier. Many times cancers are caused by environmental factors such as chemicals, smoking, exposure to natural sunlight and unnatural sunlight, such as tanning beds, and even x-rays. Sometimes cancers are genetic; the odds of developing them are great, or, they are simply triggered by these kinds of factors. And then there are the times when cancer shows up unexpectedly with no surface explanation.

While we don't always know what causes cancer, we do know certain steps we can take to help prevent cancer, and maintaining a healthy weight is one of those steps. Studies show that obesity can contribute to various kinds of cancers, such as ovarian, endometrial, colon, kidney, and breast cancers. Being obese can also aid in preventing a person from cancer survival, and even serve to speed up the progression of cancer.

We have treatments for cancer, and sometimes those treatments work. Whether cancer treatments work temporarily or for a lifetime is basically a case-by-case outcome. What isn't case-by-case, however, is the cost of cancer treatment. Having adequate health insurance can help cover the cost of cancer treatment, but most health insurance policies don't cover all costs, and some don't even cover the treatments at all.

Therefore, relying solely on your health insurance policy to cover the cost of cancer treatments and, hopefully, cancer survival, isn't wise. Cancer survival isn't about how much health insurance you have. Cancer survival isn't about having the best health care that money can buy. Cancer survival is about taking the necessary steps to treat yourself. And, taking the steps to prevent cancer, rather than the steps to finding a health insurance policy that will cover you once you've been diagnosed with cancer, should be the first steps you take. <bio>http://www.myquoteguide.com/Car-Tips.shtml http://www.ezquoteguide.com/home/ http://www.ezquoteguide.com/car/ </bio>

Some women don't take prostate cancer very seriously, thinking it's a mens issue and it isn't something that they need to be concerned with. Still, if you have a man in your family, it's definitely something you need to be aware of. Most guys don't look forward to the birthday that makes them old enough to need regular prostate examinations. It's not a good time, but they could save your life by catching the cancer in its early stages. Prostate cancer is the second most popular cancer in American men, second only to skin cancer. Fortunately, it doesn't need to be deadly.

Though it's a mens issue because it doesn't affect women, prostate cancer can have devastating effects on a family. About one in six men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer at some point in his lifetime, but since nine out of ten of the time it's caught in a local or regional area it's not extremely deadly. However, if it has spread to locations like the bone it becomes increasingly more difficult to treat. One in thirty five men will die as a result of prostate cancer. Still, the American Cancer Society estimates that more than 27,000 men will die of prostate cancer in the year 2007.

While the statistics may be scary, at least there's hope. Prostate cancer is one of the cancers that is easiest to catch with regular doctors visits and examinations. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle will make you less likely to get cancer during your lifetime, as well as help prevent heart attacks, strokes and a slew of other ailments that are considered a mens issue. It's always best to refrain from smoking or using smokeless tobacco, exercise regularly and eat a well balanced diet. As long as you're aware of the symptoms of prostate and other cancers, you can take an active step in making sure if you do get cancer, it's caught in an early stage. <bio>For more great mens issue advice, visit the Mens Health Forums.
Prostate cancer affects an estimated one out of every six males. Therefore it's understandable that most men want to know at least something about prostate cancer, especially as they are approaching their 40s. This article is going to touch on some of the symptoms and treatments, as well as some of the side effects that come from prostate cancer and prostate cancer treatment. This article is not intended to be a substitution for your doctor's advice, so make sure that you seek a professional opinion if you feel that you may have prostate cancer.

One thing that's important to note is that you may not suffer any symptoms at all. That is why it's very important to be checked for prostate cancer frequently, and especially more so as you get older because they can find the prostate cancer before any symptoms show up at all in most cases. Some men that have prostate cancer may experience some of the following symptoms. Frequent or difficult urination, as well as a weak urine flow, erectile dysfunction as well as painful ejaculation and blood in the urine or semen.

There are many different treatment options for prostate cancer and you will want to discuss these with your doctor or healthcare professional before any decision is made. A few of the choices are active surveillance, radiation or hormone therapy, chemotherapy or surgery. There are also other choices and as I said before you should discuss these with your doctor.

One of the best things that you can do for your prostate is to make sure you take care of it in the first place. This may reduce your risk of prostate cancer. Just knowing some simple things such as taking vitamin E, eating plenty of fruits and vegetables and being informed about eating fats and red meat can reduce your risk of prostate cancer. <bio>Steve writes informative articles and is the webmaster at http://www.yourprostatecancer.com/ - http://www.all-about-asbestos.com/ </bio>

If you are concerned that you are experiencing testicular cancer symptoms, it is absolutely imperative that you make an appointment with your doctor to get them checked out as soon as possible. While testicular cancer isn't the deadliest of cancers, it is still very important to catch it in the earliest stage possible. The longer testicular cancer has to grow and spread, the less likely you are to survive in the end. Of course, this is true of all cancers but with testicular cancer a man has a lot to lose. Canadian comedian Tom Green made a documentary about his experience with testicular cancer, which culminated in having one of his testis completely removed.

Fortunately, if caught in stage 1, the survival rate for those affected is as high as 95 percent. While the odds may be in your favor, it's still nothing to fool around with. Here are some of the testicular cancer symptoms to be aware of: significant increase or decrease in the size of one of the testis, constant and recurring dull pain in the lower abdomen or groin area and blood in the semen. Testicular cancer is most commonly found in Caucasian men who fall in the 15-40 age bracket, although there are also peaks during infancy and around the age of 60. Common treatments for testicular cancer are chemotherapy or radiation treatments.

Other testicular cancer symptoms to be on the lookout for are loss of sexual appetite, buildup of fluid in the scrotum and pain or tenderness in the testicles. To be sure, testicular cancer isn't something that is on the tip of most people's tongue. Still, it is something that people need to be aware of. Nobody is immune from it, as champion Lance Armstrong proved when he almost died as a result of the condition. <bio>Want to learn more about how to spot Testicular Cancer symptoms early?
Cancer screening tests are basically attempts to detect cancer at an early stage to increase the chances of a full recovery before it is too late. There are generic cancer tests to detect signs of cancer in your body and other specialized cancer tests to detect specific cancer types. The exact type of cancer tests you should take depends on which cancer risk group you belong to.

What Is My Risk Of Getting Cancer?

There are 3 types of cancer risk groups:

- Low risk ( 20% lifetime risk)

The lifetime risk is the probability of you having a particular type of cancer in your lifetime. When you visit a doctor for cancer screening, you will be classified into one of the groups above according to your gender, age, lifestyle, environment, race and family history of cancer. For example, a man in his fifties who works in a factory, lives in a very polluted city and smokes 10 cigarettes per day may belong to the high risk group. People from different risk groups will have different cancer screening schedules and may start their screening tests at an earlier age or have more frequent tests.

It is important that you look up the cancer screening guidelines of your country to make sure your doctor is planning the right combination of cancer tests. Some tests may not give you all the confirmation you need so having the right tests is critical to detect any signs of cancer as soon as possible. Going through more tests than you need will only result in you spending a lot of unnecessary time and money.

What Are The Cancer Tests I Need To Do?

The tests you will be going through should involve some or all of the following:

- Visual investigation of any lesions on your body, mouth, eyes, genitals, etc.

- Palpation tests to feel for any unusual lumps or tumors in your breasts, prostate, neck and other parts of your body.

- Endoscopy, X-rays, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), CT scans, Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scans or ultrasound scans

- Lab tests like Biological Terraine Assessment (BTA), blood tests, pap smears, Anti-malignin antibody screen (AMAS) or Cancer Marker Tests.

Cancer Can Strike When You Least Expect It

It is important that you follow your cancer screening test schedules religiously to prevent detecting any case of cancer in your body at a later or final stage. Everyone knows that the chances of treating cancer is easier in it's early stages so please do not take the unnecessary risk by being arrogant and lazy about doing your cancer tests. These cancer tests could save you lots of money in the long run and most importantly, they could save your life. <bio>Visit Natalie's Cancer Archive (http://www.cancerarchive.com/cancer-ebook-reviews/) to find out how you could treat cancer with alternative cancer treatment methods that work without costing you a bomb. </bio>

When guys realize that their lifetime odds of getting diagnosed with it are 1 in 250, many men will go looking for the symptoms for testicular cancer. There are many of them to be aware of, but if you know exactly what to look for you have a better chance of catching testicular cancer in its early stages. If caught before it has spread to other organs, testicular cancer victims have a survival rate of 90 percent. When caught in the very first stage of existence, testicular cancer kills only 5 percent. Still, it is a very serious condition that deserves your very serious attention.

There are way too many symptoms for testicular cancer to list here, but I will briefly go over some of the most common ones that are easier to notice. Many people who get diagnosed with testicular cancer notice a dull pain or ache in their abdomen or groin. Also, an unusually enlarged or shrunk testicle is something to take notice of. If there is blood in your semen, sex is painful or if you have a sudden loss of sexual appetite altogether, you should be concerned. If you experience any of these symptoms, please see your doctor as soon as possible to get checked out.

Testicular cancer is most commonly found in Caucasian men aged 15 to 40, although it has been found in infants and the elderly as well. While talking to your doctor about symptoms of testicular cancer may be an awkward conversation to have, it can also be a lifesaving one. Your health is too precious to put at risk because you're afraid of getting embarrassed or you don't like going to the doctor. Physicians get asked weird questions all of the time and have seen just about everything. Talk to your doctor, you're worth it. <bio>Want to learn more about how to spot symptoms for Testicular Cancer? Visit the Mens Health Forum.
Prostate cancer is caused by malignant tumors in the prostate gland, and is the leading cancer affecting men in America. As prostate cancer is very slow-growing, a lot of men, once diagnosed are told to take no action but just andquot;watch and wait andquot; for any signs of progression. The screening test for prostate cancer is named the Prostate Specific Antigen, or PSA, test. A PSA test calculates the level of PSA present in the bloodstream. One thing to note is that there is at this time some concern over the accuracy of the PSA test and its usefulness.

The lifetime chance of being diagnosed with prostate cancer is about 1 in 14. The risk of prostate cancer is a bit higher in black men than in white men. Fortunately, if prostate cancer is discovered early enough, it can quite often be cured.

Researchers have discovered that men with missing bits of a specific gene have nearly double the chance of prostate cancer compared with other men. The risk for developing this form of cancer rises dramatically the older you get, and about 60% of diagnosed cases occur in men who are more than 70 years of age. Studies suggest that certain men may be able to reduce their chance of developing prostate cancer by eating good healthy foods and taking exercise on a regular basis, high fiber diets being especially recommended. A diet which is high in animal fat can increase the chance of prostate cancer and a diet which is high in fruits and vegetables should lessen the risk.

There are several types of treatment for patients with prostate cancer, and choosing a treatment for prostate cancer is not that easy. The problem is the treatment options for prostate cancer are not completely benign, and they all have the possibility of side effects.

Treating prostate cancer works best when the disease is discovered early. After treatmentof their primary tumors, prostate cancer in males is managed by keeping a watching brief only. In recent years, brachytherapy has emerged as a good outpatient treatment for localized prostate cancer. One important consideration is that the choice of treatment should also take into account the needs of the patient. As always, if you have any concerns, seek medical advice. <bio>James Hunaban is the owner of http://prostate-cancer.health-info4u.com/ a site dedicated to Prostate Cancer information. </bio>

Exposure to asbestos usually occurs by breathing contaminated air in workplaces that make or use asbestos. Asbestos is also found in the air of buildings containing asbestos that are being torn down or renovated. Asbestos exposure can cause serious lung problems and cancer. This substance has been found in at least 83 of the 1,585 National Priorities List sites identified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

If inhaled by humans, asbestos fibres can cause asbestosis, lung cancer and mesothelioma, a disease which is invariably fatal. This site discusses what asbestos is, asbestosis and other diseases caused by asbestos, pleural thickening, mesothelioma, lung Cancer, prevention, asbestos in buildings, and compensation. This form of cancer is peculiar because the only known cause is from asbestos exposure.

National Cancer Institute, found that people who live closer to ultramafic rock deposits, which typically contain asbestos, have higher risks than those farther away. That was before studies linked asbestos dust with cancer and lung disease. The delay between exposure to asbestos and the development of cancer is generally 20 or more years.

The type of cancers includes mesothelioma, asbestos lung cancer, and asbestosis. The known afflictions associated with asbestos exposure are asbestosis, lung cancer, mesothelioma and pleural plaques. Significant long term exposure to asbestos increases the risk of lung cancer, mesothelioma and non-malignant lung and pleural disorders.

Smoking also greatly aggravates the likelihood of lung cancer in workers exposed to asbestos (although smoking does not appear to increase the risk of mesothelioma). The asbestos fibers can cause lung cancer and other lung disease that may not appear until many years after exposure. But exposure to asbestos causes cancer and other diseases.

British asbestos workers were among the first who were observed to have lung cancer related to asbestos. Because of the recent renovation boom, home renovators are the new suffers of asbestos cancer, or mesothelioma. Scientists have developed a blood test that can predict years in advance whether someone will succumb to asbestos cancer. <bio>Mesothelioma is a rare disease that is strongly related to exposure to Asbestos.
If you or one of your loved ones has cancer, you probably know all too well what the conventional treatment for cancer is. Often called by cynics the cut, burn, and poison method, conventional treatments are basically limited to surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy.

Even though many thousands of individuals have spent countless millions of dollars over the past few decades campaigning for the cure for cancer, we're no closer. In fact, cancer deaths are on the rise. Perhaps, though, it's because we're looking for the cure for cancer in the wrong place!?

Paracelsus is credited to have said that andquot; All that mankind needs for good health... is provided by God in nature... the challenge is to find it.andquot; Perhaps if we want to find the cure for cancer, we need to be looking at what God gave us for good health.

The idea that health can be achieved without drugs is not just a hypothesis, either. There is a large amount of scientific research proving that various nutritional substances can have amazing effects on disease, even cancer. Take for example phytonutrients. Newsweek Magazine actually ran a front page article on how phytonutrients had been found to necrose cancer cells.

Other good examples are glyconutrients and antioxidants. Scientific studies have documented was better results with natural substances such as these than the medical community can even hope to get.

The bottom line is: The medical community is not acting like they really want to find the cure. If you have cancer, it's up to you to do the research and find natural substances that can help you fight the cancer effectively and naturally. Do remember, though, that it's illegal to market a natural product as something that cures disease. The drug companies have a monopoly on the word cure - even though it seems that they are not very good at it! <bio>To discover 350 natural products that people have used to beat their cancer, please visit http://www.naturalcancertreatments.com </bio>

Though there have been massive medical advances in fighting cancer, there is still no known cure to help the problem for everyone, in fact cancer will affect 1 in 4 people in the western world as some point in their life.

Some people can get their cancerous cells removed and never had to worry about it again, they are the lucky ones. It isn't always this simple, though the cases of people surviving cancer seem to be more and more numerous. That is great news for someone who may have just found out that they have the problem, and when you look up cancer information online or anywhere else, you may find hope where there was none ten years ago.

Not All Cancers Are The Same

All types of cancer are different, and they affect the body in unique ways. If you have been diagnosed with liver cancer, make sure you remember that when you carry out your research. Cancer information about the lungs might not help you out much.

Though the disease is the same no matter where it is located, you should definitely narrow your search for cancer information down to your specific type. Some cancer is easy to get rid of and many others offer up a much bigger medical challenge.

You should always get your cancer information first and foremost from your doctor or GP. If you aren't comfortable with the amount of information they seem to have for you, you may want to consider finding some other sources.

Doctors do their best to stay on top of the latest studies and findings, but it is possible that your doctor may be unaware of up-to-the-minute developments and research, they are very busy people after all.

If you really like your doctor, but they seem to be behind, don't be afraid to look up cancer information on your own to give to them. I have done this with my doctor on a different subject matter altogether, but he was happy to see what I had come up with. A good doctor should always be open to your findings, even if what you find isn't good.

Advice For Searching Online

Remember when looking up cancer information online that you can't trust everything you read. There is a lot of great information out there, and there is a lot of cancer information that is just plain wrong.

Anyone can write up an article and slap it up online, but that doesn't mean the information included is correct. That is where the web gets tricky and why I recommend you discuss your findings with your doctor before you take it as the truth.

There are great sites out there, don't get me wrong, just be aware of what source you trust when looking for cancer information on the Internet. <bio>Paul Green is the senior health research analyst at http://Health-Wealth-Happiness.us.
How long should a patient take tamoxifen for the treatment of breast cancer?

Patients with advanced breast cancer may take tamoxifen for varying lengths of time, depending on their response to this treatment and other factors. When used as adjuvant therapy for early stage breast cancer, tamoxifen is generally prescribed for 5 years. However, the ideal length of treatment with tamoxifen is not known.

How Often Should I Take Tamoxifen?

Two studies have confirmed the benefit of taking adjuvant tamoxifen daily for 5 years. These studies compared 5 years of treatment with tamoxifen with 10 years of treatment. When taken for 5 years, the drug reduces the risk of recurrence of the original breast cancer and also reduces the risk of developing a second primary cancer in the other breast. Taking tamoxifen for longer than 5 years is not more effective than 5 years of therapy.

What is Tamoxifen

Tamoxifen is an oral selective estrogen receptor modulator which is used in breast cancer treatment, and is currently the world's largest selling breast cancer treatment. It is used for the treatment of early and advanced breast cancer in pre- and post-menopausal women. It is also approved by the FDA for the reduction of the incidence of breast cancer in women at high risk of developing the disease. It has been further approved for the reduction of contralateral (in the opposite breast) breast cancer.

Tamoxifen and Cancer

Tamoxifen is used to reduce the risk of breast cancer for women who:

1. are at high risk of breast cancer but have no personal history of the disease 2. have non-invasive, hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer, or DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ) 3. have hormone-receptor-positive invasive breast cancer at any stage.

Tamoxifen is sometimes used to treat gynecomastia in men. Tamoxifen is also used by bodybuilders in a steroid cycle to try and prevent or reduce drug-induced gynecomastia caused by steroids that are used in the same cycle.

Tamoxifen is also used to treat infertility in women with anovulatory disorders. A dose of 10-40 mg per day is administered in days 3-7 of a woman's cycle. <bio>Tamoxifen has been proven to be the cure to Breast Cancer. We urge you to find out more about Tamoxifen at http://Tamoxifen.eask.info </bio>
