Have you heard about the new standard for domain name whois privacy that the Canadian Internet Registration Authority or the CIRA has recently announced? If not yet, then here it is.

Recently, numerous reports have noted that the Canadian Internet Registration Authority has proposes a new standard for the domain name whois privacy. In their proposal, it is considered that the new policy for domain name whois privacy will provide all the dot-ca domain name owners with an enhanced domain name whois privacy safeguards, bringing the domain name whois privacy policy in line with the currently enacted Canadian privacy laws.

Today, the new proposed domain name whois standard becomes the hottest subject of a general public consultation. And this domain name whois policy will see the CIRA to pursue in collecting complete information from dot-ca domain name owners, however, it will create only a little amount of the details that are available to the general public in its web-based domain name whois lookup directory.

Along with such introduction, the Canadian Internet Registration Authority itself have assumed that this new domain name whois standard will ensure greater privacy protection barriers under the dot-ca regime than are recently accessible with so many other internet domains just like the dot-com. In some reports about this matter proposed by the CIRA, it is noted that the president of the CEO of CIRA had mentioned that this new standard for the domain name and whois privacy is all about protecting the people's fundamental right to privacy in the virtual reality. Along with that statement, the president of the CEO of CIRA also mentioned that since the internet is a wonderful and transformative force, it is then right to take some great care to ensure that such dimension serves the people, and not the other way around.

With such main reason for introducing this new standard for the domain name whois privacy, the group further maintains that this policy then sets a new standard among the internet domains. And in particular, the new standard for domain name whois privacy states that for those who register a dot-ca domain name, it is only the domain name, registrar's name, registration date, "last change" date, notice about adjustments in status of the domain name and server IP numbers/names will be accessible through whois. It further holds that the policy for organizations with dot-ca designations will not be changed, so the same date will continue to be accessible through whois. And lastly, the new policy holds that CIRA will pursue to ensure that all registration data is available to law enforcement agencies. <bio>The 12 Month Millionaire Will Show You Everything you did and didn't want to know about making One Million Dollars by this time next year... revealed LIVE!
The television industry has gone through many changes. Imagine at the beginning of television. The moments that you saw on TV had no way of actually being recorded. They were broadcast live, and straight into your home. This was a great breakthrough, like the radio, except with sound.

There are many ways that television changed the face of what was going on in the world. However, the technology quickly changed. First you were able to watch recorded images. Then, you were able to choose from several different channels that were watching different things. Soon, the television was in color, and then, there were cable networks that carried all kinds of channels that you could watch each day.

With every advancement comes something new. There is nothing different in that statement when it comes to things like Canadian satellite TV.

What Is the Difference?

There are many things that are different about Canadian satellite TV from the TV that you might have now. Also, you are going to find that with Canadian satellite TV there are many more stations for you to choose from.

One of the best things about Canadian satellite TV is that you can actually get channels form all over the world. If you are able to get packages the contain channels from around the world, you will find that there is so much to learn by watching another countries television programs. This can be a truly educational experience for your whole family.

Another good thing about Canadian satellite TV is that it is generally affordable to most people. You would think that it would be very expensive, but actually Canadian satellite TV is something that most every citizen can afford. This hails back to the time when television was new. As things came out, they started out very expensive and therefore very exclusive. However, as something new came out, the prices would drop and they would be more and more affordable.

There are many benefits to having Canadian satellite TV. The price and the fact that you can watch just about anything from anywhere are just two of the reasons that this is something you should consider for your family. It is at the cutting age of technology, and it is easy to have in your life.
In today's market, renters and even homeowners in Canada are seized by the desire to save enough funds for down payments. The reason is simple. Canadian mortgage rates are going down and real estate prices are in full swing.

To cover the heavy demand for more mortgages, lenders have adapted flexible techniques, like lowering down their Canadian mortgage rates and coming up with new products all the time.

A traditional Canadian mortgage rate would be a loan requiring the buyer to put down 20 per cent of the property's value in cash. Such a Canadian mortgage rate requires a big amount of money but the benefits are great.

Look around for low Canadian mortgage rates

Shopping around the Canadian mortgage rate market can cut down your down payment costs. With a little research, buyers can even access the posted Canadian mortgage rates and interest rates of large banks and get them for less, about one percentage point or sometimes more.

For instance, the Canadian brokering company in Montreal, Multi-Prets Hypotheques is currently offering their customers a five-year Canadian mortgage rate of 5.1 per cent. This is low compared to other banks posted Canadian mortgage rate of 6.5 per cent. This allows consumers to save thousands of dollars in Canadian mortgage rates and interest rates alone over the life of their loan.

Lower down Canadian mortgage rate with CMHC loans

Another way to lower down Canadian mortgage rates and minimize the amount of cash you put down is to get a Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) insured mortgage. A CMHC-insured mortgage can reduce the Canadian mortgage rate and down payment to 5 per cent. That Canadian mortgage rate is 20 per cent lower than traditional mortgage loans.

With a CMHC-insured mortgage, you get a loan that is like most other loans except that you get insurance from CMHC on the additional loan amount, which is the difference between the traditional 25 per cent Canadian mortgage rate and the actual payment you put down. Getting a CMHC insurance involves only a one-time payment with Canadian mortgage rates varying between 1 per cent and 3.25 per cent of the total loan, depending on the amount of cash put down.

Low Canadian mortgage rates with non-standard mortgages

Reducing your Canadian mortgage rate can also be achieved by opting for non-standard mortgages. Aggressive financial market players like Toronto's Xceed Mortgage Corporation offer incredibly low Canadian mortgage rates and minimum down payments.

Getting a non-standard mortgage is perfect for people who have large earning powers but few capital resources. Because they have few assets to back them up, lenders might up their Canadian mortgage rates when they apply for loans. For instance, an entrepreneur whose assets are mainly invested in her business wants to apply for a loan. Her chances of a getting a low Canadian mortgage rate for a traditional loan is less compared to getting a reduced Canadian mortgage rate from a non-standard mortgage.

Lenders of non-standard loans will cover the entire purchase price of your house, leaving you to save a lot on high Canadian mortgage rates and a large down payment. However, lenders will only provide financial backing if your total monthly financial commitments (debt, interest, taxes, etc.) are no higher than 40 per cent of your monthly income. <bio>To find out more about mortgages just visit the Info-Portal: http://www.2nd-mortgage.com-internet-online.com or for more individual help: http://www.credit-repair-consultant.com </bio>

American and Canadian football both descended from rugby and began in Canada as a game played between British soldiers garrisoned in Montreal. The soldiers played a series of games against students at McGill University. McGill played several games against Harvard in 1874 and a tradition was born. Despite their mutual origins, the Canadian and the American game developed differently and now have substantially different rules and regulations.

The biggest difference between Canadian and American football is the size of the playing field. In Canada, football fields are 110 yards long and 65 yards wide. In America football fields are 100 yards long and 53 and 1/3 yards wide. The goal posts in Canadian football are placed at the front, rather than the back of the end zone which is also deeper in Canadian football than American.

Canadian football teams have twelve players as opposed to the eleven on American teams. Because the same number of players is required at the line of scrimmage in both games, this results in an extra backfield player on Canadian teams. This means that the typical Canadian offensive setup has two slot backs instead of a tight end and on defense, two defensive halfbacks and one safety instead of two safeties as is typical in the American game.

Another difference between the two games is the number of downs. Instead of four as in the American game, Canadian football has three. This results in a more pass and kick oriented game since there are fewer downs available for short-yardage running plays. The kicking rules are also slightly different with the kicker being able to recover and advance his own kick. For this reason, kicking is a much more integral part of Canadian football than American.

The biggest difference between the kicking rules in the two games is that there is no fair catch rule in Canadian football. In American football, if a kick returner thinks he will not be able to advance the ball after recovery, he can signal for a fair catch and be immune from contact. In Canadian football no player on the kicking team except the kicker and any players behind him on the field may ever be within 5 yards of the ball unless it has been touched by an opponent. Also, in Canadian football any kick that goes into the end zone is a live ball, except for successful field goals.

There are other minor differences as well including scoring, motion and time rules but they are not as significant as the major differences noted here. <bio>Jonathon Hardcastle writes articles for http://footballorbust.com/ - In addition, Jonathon also writes articles for http://everythingaboutgames.net/ and http://universeofentertainment.com/ </bio>

In over 30 years, since November 1976, the US dollar and Canadian dollar have not been par until now. As the Canadian economy has been progressing over the years, the US economy seems to have fallen behind with all its turmoil. The war in Iraq has not helped the US economic situation but rather offset the deficit, and in a move to avoid the forecasted economic recession due to the credit crunch, the feds cut interests rates by 0.5 points to 4.75 percent.

The move to cut interest rates to ease the mortgage industry has weakened the US dollar against foreign currency including the Euro, and giving the push for the Canadian dollar to hit parity with the US dollar. One US dollar now buys one Canadian dollar. But the Canadian dollar's gain isn't only linked to the US federal interest rate cut, but can also be seen as the Canadian economy has been booming in an upward gain from 2006 with a low inflation rate, and a red hot oil industry.

This rapid progression of the Canadian dollar against the US comes as a shock to some Canadians, who measured the Canadian dollar value at .62 USD only four years ago in 2002, and now hitting par seems too good to be true.

As Jeff Rubin, chief economist and strategist at CIBC World Markets, stated, "the Canadian economy that once used to be the sleepy little resource backwater of the North American economy is certainly turning the tables on its big brother in a hurry."

So what does all this have to do with Canadian and American dealings with each other? Well, for starts there will be an increase in American exports as buying from the American markets will become cheaper for Canadians. Although, vice versa Canadian exports to America will also decrease, as it will simply cost more for Americans to buy Canadian manufactured goods.

The Canadian tourism industry will also suffer, as more American visitors will decline as the dollar parity discourages Americans from shopping in Canada, since the one time savings of up to 40%, due to the dollar value, will no longer be available to Americans.

Although, Canadians will suffer in sales, they will gain in purchasing from American based businesses, and buying cars from the American side is becoming more attractive to some Canadians. As car prices in Canada are much higher than in America, a lot of Canadian shoppers will find drastic savings by traveling south of the border to buy a car. The difference in prices may not be the greatest for all cars, but gaps in some categories such as luxury sports cars, will save a Canadian buyer almost $14,000 on average.

But the high loony will put pressure on Canadian companies that are dependent on exporting to the US, who is also Canada's largest trading partner. Already, in 2006 there were almost 100,000 job losses in southeastern Ontario, due to the rising Canadian dollar against the US dollar.

Even with such a massive job loss, the Canadian economy is still doing well, as the manufacturing sector loss a total of 289, 000 jobs since 2002, the Canadian economy has created over one million jobs in resources, construction, services, health care, education and financial industries, leaving the national jobless rate at 30-year low.

In contrast the Canadian dollar seems to be stronger over the American for the time being, but only time will tell the future of the American dollar vs. the Canadian. If asked to predict, there is always uncertainty, but given factors such as future interest rate cuts by the Americans, could possibly even lower the US dollar compared to the Canadian, and this could become reality in the next 6-12 months. <bio>This article is provided courtesy of http://www.justwantaquote.com Find Free Mortgage Quotes and Financial Information. </bio>

Canadians are realizing the need for life insurance and for more people, there is good news as the insurance companies have substantially lowered their rates over the past several years. Further more, Canada has a very sound financial services industry with the life insurance industry, having an excellent record for being able to keep its promises to consumers.

Canadian Life Insurance Buyers

The Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association works to ensure the health of the Canadian Life insurance industry through advocacy and lobbying activities and more.
Canada has gambling casinos just like those that are found in other parts of the world. On a population basis versus the number of casinos, they are extremely well represented. The Canadian casinos offer the full gamut of table games, slots, poker-rooms and sports books. The names are different than those found in the states or elsewhere, but the casino layouts are similar to what you would find in Vegas or Atlantic City.

Canadians have a long history of enjoying the world of gaming. It was a group of French Canadians that brought poker to early New Orleans. Gambling has been part of their culture for many years and casinos are not a new scene in major Canadian cities. Just across from Niagara Falls you will find one of Canada's better-known casinos. The World Poker Tour holds an event each year in Canada. That alone tells you that the casino picture in Canada is doing well and is healthy.

A player can find whatever game they want at Canadian casino table games. The avid slot player is not denied either. Many of the casinos offer several types of poker games including the most popular of all, Texas Holdem. Seven card stud and Omaha are also offered at some of the casinos. The poker rooms also offer satellite tournaments for some of the bigger poker tournaments as well as their own poker tournaments.

Most major cities in Canada have one or more casinos within the general vicinity of the city. There are also destination resorts that offer a Canadian get away as well as casino activity. In the old days Canadians flocked to Nevada casinos in such numbers that the casinos there offered special exchange rates to these tourists. This is no longer necessary with the number of casinos a gambler can choose from in Canada.

Gaming has made huge strides in the last few years throughout the world. Canada is no exception to this amazing growth of gaming and the casinos that offer the games. This coupled with the many other tourist attractions that are offered in Canada makes these resorts a welcome place to visit. Las Vegas is still king in the casino world, but the other places like Canada is making it easier for people to gamble closer to home. The urge to gamble is a well covered by the many Canadian casinos. If you are near a Canadian casino give it a try. <bio>This article is the property of http://www.canadian-casinos.com </bio>

There are many reasons to join the growing roster of non-Canadian entrepreneurs operating in Canada. According to an extensive 10-month study of multinational business costs in Asia-Pacific, Europe, and Canada by KMPG, Canadian businesses costs ranked the least. Also they are roughly 9% lower than those in the USA after taxes depending on the industry. Lower labor cost is a considerable reason for this. The overall labor expenses, including salaries and wages, health benefits, and statutory benefits are lowest for Canadian companies. US benefit costs amount to 32%, while Canada only amounts to 29%.

There are also lower costs of production for Canadian businesses. Electricity costs for an average company is 22% less than the US electricity costs. Company real estate and factory sites are 8% lower. Plus, excellent infrastructure and roads also minimize repairs for company vehicles and ease transportation of products. Canada also promotes low telecommunication rates, thereby facilitating better communication and information transfer for lower costs.

Perhaps the best reason to put up a business in Canada is that the country welcomes investment and new businesses. Canadian businesses and new investors can avail of the Canada Small Business Financing (CSBF) Act that was established 1999. This program aim to streamline the processing of loans, loans administration, and extend financing opportunities for smaller businesses.

If these are not reason enough to put up a business in Canada, the state also offers premium retirement plans for employees and company owners. There is also a wide labor market and a competitive business climate. The Canadian government also puts up agencies to assist new investors and starting companies to get their businesses up and running smoothly. Canadian tax laws are rigid though and must be observed with strict compliance. However, this should not deter prospective investors because the tax paid to the government is translated into better civil service, good public facilities, infrastructure, excellent education, and competent medical care. In short, the taxes paid to the government translates to a better quality of life for Canadian citizens. Fostering a positive community is perhaps the reason why Canadian businesses reap the highest profit and gains. This is because the employees are earning better which makes them more productive, the exchange of goods is faster, and the consumers have more income to spend. The only disadvantage to starting a Canadian business is the fact that prospective entrepreneurs might not know what to do with their extra cash and income. <bio>For more valuable information on Canadian Businesses, please visit http://www.canadianbusinessexchange.com </bio>

Canadian patents are provided to the first inventor to file an application. If a competing inventor files before you do they will own the patent even if you can prove that you were the first to conceive of the invention. Therefore it is advisable to file Canadian patents as soon as possible without running the risk of omitting essential features from the application. If that happens you may have to reapply later. Advertise, displaying, or publishing information on your invention too soon is also not allowed. You can be excluded from this rule if the disclosure was made by the inventor, or someone who learned of the invention from the inventor, less than one year before filing.

Steps in Obtaining Canadian Patents Protection

Preliminary Searching Conducting a preliminary search of existing Canadian patents is the most important step. Since it costs money to file for a patent, even if that patent is refused, determining if your invention has ever been patented before can save you much time and money.

Canadian Patents Database Online Using the Canadian Patents Database Online you can do a preliminary search of Canadian patents bibliographical information and have access to descriptions and image documents on issued Canadian patents since 1920. Also available are all applications published in Canada since October 1989. Search options supported include key words in the title, the name of the inventor, owner or applicant, the international or Canadian Patents Classification, the PCT information, the abstract or claims text. This resource can be found at patents1.ic.gc.ca/intro-e.html

Searching at the Patent Office The only way to conduct patentability or infringement search on your own, if you do not want to solicit the aid of patent agent or lawyer, is by visiting the Patent Office. Canadian Patents Office staff will not do the search for you, but can direct you and give you useful information.

There are over 1.5 million Canadian patents held at the Patent Office in Place du Portage I, Gatineau, Quebec. Patent documents filed prior to October 1, 1989, are classified according to the Canadian Patents Classification system and Canadian Patents documents filed on or after October 1, 1989, are classified and searchable according to the International Patent Classification (IPC) system. These documents can be consulted on the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Web site at: www.wipo.int/classifications/en/index.html. The Patent Search Room, in the Client Service Centre, is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, except on legal holidays.

Full Searching of Canadian Patents Documents using TechSource TechSource is an electronic patent system that holds the scanned digital image of over 1.5 million patent documents dating back to 1920 and the text version of the documents from 1978. The imaging system enables users to view all parts of Canadian patent documents from workstations. TechSource includes Inquire/Text, a search and retrieval component, which allows the searching of the patent database. This image and text search and retrieval capability is currently available through the Patent Search Room in Gatineau. <bio>Linda Johnson contributes to several web sites, including http://duned.com and http://products-resources.com </bio>

While Canadian aboriginal seniors make up a very tiny percentage of the overall senior population in Canada they are a key link to culture and language in their communities. This trend will continue as Canadian Aboriginal Seniors increase in both numbers and percentages of the Canadian Aboriginal community with improvements in health care and life expectancy.

"Seniors are revered in many aboriginal communal cultures for their knowledge and experiences, and the integral rile that they place in the vitality and well being of their families , communities and nations ", says a Statistics Canada Government Report titled " A Portrait of Seniors in Canada".

"Aboriginal people turn to their elders as key sources of traditional knowledge, wisdom and community continuity".

"The Portrait of Seniors " Statistics Canada report used data in part gathered from the official Government of Canada 2001 census.

The government Stats Canada Report which used data from the official Canadian Government Census looked at the wellness of people aged 65 and over across Canada. The report included a section which specifically focused on Canadian Aboriginal Seniors.

What was found was that aboriginal languages are much more prevalent among Canadian Aboriginal Seniors and that is in part why they are a direct link and linkage to Canadian Aboriginal culture and heritage.

Though Canadian Aboriginals make up only one percent of the total Canadian Aboriginal population. However as life expectancy rates improve with improvements in healthcare and health infrastructure development as well as training these numbers are expected to rise while falling birth rates will tend to concentrate the existing group of Aboriginal Seniors as a percentage among the Canadian "First Nations".

In total there are approximately 40,000 Aboriginal Seniors in Canada. The largest number live in the province of Ontario, followed by British Columbia, and Manitoba.

In terms of the percentage of Aboriginal Seniors in the total senior population, the provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan led the way among the Canadian provinces with four percent and three percent respectively.

"Aboriginal seniors made up a far greater percentage of the total senior population in the North of Canada in the Northwest Territories and the Yukon."

But Aboriginal Seniors face lower life expectancies rates than non-Aboriginal seniors with aboriginal women outliving aboriginal men,

Although low in percentages and total numbers Canadian Aboriginal seniors will increase in both numbers and percentages over the coming years as life expectancy increases. This group has and will continue to expert an ever increasing important role in the cultural preservation of Aboriginal culture in Canada. <bio>Kerry A.
The right to privacy is a serious issue for all online. No formal law exists within cyberspace, and Internet users can find recourse only through the applicable laws of their own government. It is your responsibility to ensure the privacy of your web site visitors. You have to create a transactional or interactive environment that protects the privacy of your customers.

Many people fail to become online consumers because they fear their personal information could be misused or compromised. Identity theft, credit card fraud, breach of personal information are among the more common consumer concerns. According to Marc Rotenberg, Executive Director of the Electronic Privacy Information Center in Washington, DC, "The absence of consumer privacy protection may in fact be the number one obstacle to the growth of e-commerce."

Privacy is one of the leading issues facing the future success of e-commerce. One of your most important tasks as an online business is to establish trusting relationships with your web site visitors. Be sure to prominently display a privacy policy on your site that details how customer information is collected, used, and protected.

Learn from the pros, if you are unsure about what your privacy statement should look like. There are many highly successful online businesses you can learn from. Don't copy their privacy statements, but use them as learning tools. If there is an industry leader in your field, study their web site. There is nothing wrong with a little bit of competitive intelligence.

As you study privacy policies look for common trends. Take notes, and make an outline. Ask questions as you are writing your outline. What does their privacy statement include? Where is the privacy statement located? Is it easy to find? Using the intelligence you have gathered during your research process, write your own privacy statement.

The body of your privacy policy should have several components such as, how common the collected user information is protected, the security measures you take to protect the information, if you share that information with a third party. Also include privacy information specific to your field. For example, if you're collecting customer e-mail addresses be specific about how you plan to use them.

Always include the company contact information in your privacy policy so that customers can contact you in case they have any questions. Make sure that a link to your privacy policy is clearly visible on your website. At the very least, you should have a link to the privacy policy from your homepage but it doesn't hurt to have a link to it from all web pages. <bio>George Meszaros with Webene http://www.webene.com </bio>

One of the essential steps to protecting your privacy is understanding how to read a privacy policy.

Privacy policies should be made available in some form anytime you are asked to provide personal information. Financial institutions, health facilities or other businesses that collect your information can be asked to show you their privacy policy before you give them your information.

If the company does not have privacy policy consider doing business elsewhere. It is a show of respect to customers to tell them how their information will be used.

Online you will find privacy policies posted on websites. The privacy policy is an indication of the steps they will take to protect your identity or to inform you of how they will treat the information you provide. Simply having a privacy policy does not guarantee you any level of protection. To understand what is protected and what is shared you must read the policy.

Each site has its own criteria for a privacy policy. Some give full protection including encryption of passwords and not providing your information to any third party while others tell you that your information will be shared with affiliated companies or businesses they feel you would be interested in hearing from. You must read the policy to be aware of the steps being taken to protect you.

Here are some of the items to look for on a privacy policy:

What Information is Collected and Why?

When a business is requesting personal information it is reasonable to ask what information is collected and why it is needed. If they request information that doesn't seem relevant they should state why they need it. How serious is identity theft? Protect yourself, get free adware download and protect your online security.

If there is no explanation for the request try to avoid giving the additional information or ask them why they need it.
The Canadian Health Care System is based on several socialized health insurance plans providing full coverage to Canadian citizens and a model to follow that the American Health Care System has been analyzing for a while.

In Canada, federal government set the guidelines that apply to the different provinces and territories of the country in health matters, but the system comes from public funding on a territorial or provincial basis.

Because every Canadian region manages its own health care system, there is too much controversy and debate in relation to health care coverage for both locals and people visiting the country.

People who want to access the Canadian Health Care system must apply for a provincial health card and wait for no longer, than three months to obtain their health card in the case of new immigrants.

While the Canada Health Act guarantees that all residents of a territory or province will be accepted for health coverage, temporary visitors can only access this system purchasing insurance by themselves.

However, there are also Public Health Care Providers that ruled under the same act, providing services such as hospitals, dental surgery, ambulatory services, primary care doctors, and specialists to cover provincial insurance policies.

As a visitor to Canada, you can purchase a health care insurance policy and benefit from these public services during your stay in the Canadian territory.

Canada counts with about 30,000 primary care doctors, who account for over half of all Canadian doctors so you will not have a problem finding a physician that can provide you with preventative care or basic medical treatment.

Specialist doctors account for 28,000 all over the country and there are countless private clinics operating in the country offering specialized medical services, although under federal law they should not provide those services covered by the Canada Health Act.

Even though, most clinics offer such services regardless the legal limitation, they are covered by private insurance policies to provide health care assistance to people that otherwise would be left without medical protection.

Private insurance in Canada may cover up to 80% of medical cost and it is available to visitors and local residents unsatisfied with their provincial or territorial health care system.

In terms of medical availability as of 2007, there is one primary care doctor for every 1000 Canadians, who spend nearly $3,300 per capita on health care attention every year.

Keep in mind that the Canadian Health Care System does not provide basic services to residents, and some of them are those that visitors usually require, such as optometrists, dental services, and prescription medication, which people have to pay. <bio>We provide many travelers with solutions for their health and travel medical insurance needs http://www.pucherinsurance.com/ </bio>

It has been generally well known that Canadians, for the most part, pay more for their cars than Americans. Of course, right? After all, USA is home to some of the largest car companies in the world. The cost of importing all those cars into Canada from the USA must account for the price differences between American and Canadian cars, right?

Not exactly. The North American free trade agreement states that any car manufactured within North America can be imported or exported between North American countries free of duty.

In recent years Canadians have been importing record numbers of vehicles from the U.S.A. into Canada. While the exchange rate between the Canadian and American dollar has not had Canadians at such a great advantage in years, there are yet many other reasons why Canadians are flocking south of the border to make their next car purchase.

In a recent comparison between American and Canadian vehicle prices, it was found that Canadians are paying almost 20% more than Americans are for their new vehicles. That means most Canadians are currently paying about $5000-$6000 more, on average, than their neighbors to the south.

Car manufacturers justify their pricing with the argument that they are making up for lost dollars in the Canadian market, or that their pricing is simply set to what consumers have grown to accept. Seems pretty fair, companies should be allowed to set their pricing at a competitive rate, regardless of what is considered `competitive'. So are Canadians fated to pay high prices for new vehicles?

"Canadian consumers have to pay whatever the car manufacturers tell them to pay" says Kyle Jackson, author of `ImportCarToCanada!', an information website for Canadians who are looking to import a vehicle from the U.S.A. "Their perception is that they don't have the choice =96 a lot of Canadians are being ripped off and pushed around by rich car companies, and the worst part is, most Canadians don't even know it!".

ImportCartoCanada! helps Canadians with just about every aspect of importing cars into Canada from the U.S.A. Everything from step by step instructions, to money saving tips, and even hosts a community of other Canadians who talk about their own experiences importing vehicles.

"Why should a Canadian pay $52,000 for a brand new BMW 331i, when he could drive across the border and pick up the exact same car brand new for almost $12,000 less?" says Jackson. "I wanted to make a site where Canadians could quickly realize that they don't have to pay all the high prices they see on cars, they just need to do a little research."

Mr. Jackson's site may give Canadians all the answers they need about importing cars from the United States to save money, but what about car prices in Canada, will they be like this forever? "Like any market, the Canadian car market will take time to adjust. These changes happen, just not overnight."

Until the market does change, Canadians will be paying higher car prices than Americans, or like many others, getting informed, and taking a trip to an American dealership to save themselves some money. <bio>http://www.importcartocanada.info is an information and help website for Canadians looking to save money on their next vehicle purchase by importing from the U.S.A. </bio>

A survey conducted on Canadian online shopping revealed that about 75% of the internet users are already familiar with purchasing items from online stores. The people in Canada are quite active but they are often too busy to hop the stores and buy things that need regularly. This is the reason why they are taking keen interest in buying them from the online stores. In fact, observing the popularity of online shopping most of the small and big businesses are building their websites in order to reach the customers. They consider the online shopper as a customer base with huge potential.

Reasons for preferring online shopping

In Canada the buyers are often avoid the conventional way of shopping as they are getting more benefits through online shopping. There are quite a few significant reasons behind this. First of all, the scope of research is very high through the internet. With one click of the mouse you will get a long list of sites and directories which will feature items that you are looking for. Many of these companies are based in big Canadian cities like Vancouver, Toronto, Edmonton and Calgary. Hence they are able to ship their products all over Canada at a low shipping cost. Moreover many of the online stores charge in US dollars for their products which cost less than what they cost in Canadian dollars.

This is probably the most important benefit that the customers get from online shopping. You can shop for almost everything from these shops. They sell garments, gifts, grocery, medicines, shoes and anything else that you may think of. You are free to select the sizes, shapes and colors of the products where applicable. How do you pay while shopping online? Generally when you purchase something from an online store you do not have the option of paying the money directly nor can you send a check because you have to pay upfront in order to confirm the order. Some of the stores accept debit cards but most of them will ask you to go for credit cards.

There are some websites as well which will allow you to pay using the e-banking service from Pay pal or E-gold. In case you are not satisfied with the delivered item you are free to get a refund. But there are few things that you need to check before providing the site with your credit card information. The shipping cost of the items in various parts of Canada will differ from each other and this will also depend on the size, number and weight of the item.

Make sure that the online store ships their products to your city because it is really disturbing to know that they don't after you have filled up your shopping cart. Sometimes you will have to pay the taxes which are not included in the price of the product featured on the site.

Coupons for Canadian online shopping

There are many stores which offer substantial discounts on their products round the year. If you are aware of this you can save a lot of money by shopping online from these Canadian online stores. There are a few websites which will help you out with a list that contains some voucher codes, free coupons with all information about the store that is running the promotion. You can also find Canadian gift coupons there and utilize them for getting rebates. From some of the Canadian online shopping stores you can win gifts like t-shirts, caps or bags.<bio>If you love bargain shopping and are looking for red hot deals in Canada DIPWA is the Internets number one discount shopping resource.</bio>

Being a Canadian federal employee entitles you to a lot of benefits, some of which are rather unexpected. One of these benefits is the American Express AIR MILES credit card. When you are employed by the Canadian federal government, you are immediately issued with an American Express AIR MILES credit card which you are supposed to use for all your travel when you are on government business. Issuance of this credit card to you on behalf of the Canadian government will not in any way, neither positively nor negatively, affect your personal credit rating.

The American Express AIR MILES credit card, which is a product of AMEX Bank of Canada, is issued only to Canadian citizens and its design concept was targeted towards those frequently traveling on Canadian Airlines. The Canadian federal government is the owner of Canadian Airlines, which also has tie-up arrangements with other airlines operating in Canada, two US airlines (American Airlines and Northwest Airlines), the German airline, Lufthansa, and the Dutch airline, KLM.

The important guideline is that employees must pay for their travel expenses only by means of their individual American Express AIR MILES credit card. This is the reason why each card is issued in the name of the individual employee. This directive does not, however, imply that employees may travel indiscriminately; the parameters for using the American Express AIR MILES credit card are very strict and consistently applied.

You may not pay for personal purchases with the American Express AIR MILES credit card and if you're found doing this you will face serious administrative charges. Just as important, any travel booking to be paid for with your American Express AIR MILES credit card must have prior approval from the authorized management personnel in your government office. Unauthorized travel using the American Express AIR MILES credit card will have serious consequences.

Payments for all travel expenses paid for with the American Express AIR MILES credit card will not be for your account, provided that you have obtained prior approval for the travel activity in the prescribed manner. Once you receive your billing statement, you are supposed to request for reimbursement of the corresponding amount. The reimbursement should then be used to pay off the entire balance on your American Express AIR MILES credit card immediately. It is absolutely intolerable for you to miss payments or to carry balances.

Does this arrangement reduce paperwork? Theoretically, the fact that each employee carries an individual American Express AIR MILES credit card should result in tons of paperwork being eliminated. In practice, this has not been the case. The traditional procedures for getting prior trip approvals, booking travel arrangements, and then submitting the needed paperwork to support requests for reimbursement continue to be in effect. What has been removed is the necessity to have somebody, either the government or you the employee, to advance the money to cover travel expenses.

Though there is no real reduction in paperwork, federal employees are still better off. The use of American Express AIR MILES credit card allows even administrative staff to stay in five-star hotels and go around the country many times during the year. And, with your American Express AIR MILES credit card you will have access to all other services that the card issuer provides to cardholders, government employees or not. <bio>Devin Gilliland provides expert opinions and advice about credit cards at http://www.credit-wisdom.com </bio>

There are so many reasons for Canadians to travel over the summer months. But if you're in a 'vacation' state of mind this year, chart a course in a new direction. This summer, make it a PEI vacation.

Come for the fun. Come for the sun. Come for the miles and miles of beaches in the color of your choice from white to champagne to pink or red. Or come to Prince Edward Island for the golf, the seafood, the birding, the cycling, the clam digging or the antiquing.

A PEI vacation brings you the opportunity to sink your toes into the singing sand at Basin Head beach. It brings a moment's reflection in the tidal pools in any of seven Provincial Parks - or Prince Edward Island National Park, one of Canada's National Parks. It promises the opportunity to walk the shores hand in hand and fall in love all over again as the sun sets over the water. A PEI vacation offers a Canadian travel experience unlike any other.

If shopping is more your penchant, Summerside or Charlottetown are chockfull of artisan crafts including hand-stitched quilts, pottery bowls, intricate woodworking and woven tapestries. Traditional crafts studios dot Prince Edward Island, speaking to its history as the home of Confederation itself. With this much color and culture offering up a Canadian travel experience nothing short of breathtaking, take a moment to catch your breath in a seaside cafe lingering over the fresh colours, smells and tastes of the catch of the day.

Whether you're in need of an adventure, or craving a quiet moment's reflection, Prince Edward Island offers a complete and comprehensive Canadian vacation travel experience. From hotels and resorts to more modest bed and breakfasts or campsites, Prince Edward Island invites you to vacation on your terms.

So come for the fun. Come for the sun. Come for the golf and the beaches. Most of all come to Prince Edward Island this summer for the memories of a Canadian travel vacation.
