There are a number of Broadway plays and shows that people love to watch over and over again. But not all shows last forever on Broadway because the theaters need to make way for new shows and give others the opportunity to show their plays on Broadway. At the moment, there are a number of shows on Broadway that are very popular, and if you are going to New York anytime soon, it would be a good idea to place some of these shows on your itinerary. Websites are a great resource to find locations of theatres, show listings and much more before choosing a show. When staying in hotels in New York City there are people who can help you get the most popular show tickets. Part of the registration process is selecting the shows that you want to see on Broadway. The whole point here is to catch any of the current Broadway shows any which way you can. You can enjoy Broadway shows which have great singing, dancing and acting in one of the most incredible cities in the world.

A great gift would be tickets to a Broadway show of his or her choice. Discount ticket codes can help you lower the cost of the Broadway tickets that you want to buy. Broadway performances have an enormous popularity and hence its tickets are always in high demand. The reason why discount tickets exist is so those people who are on a tight budget have the ability to see great performances like everyone else. Basically you can get Broadway tickets at a discount through many channels: standing room only, lottery, discount codes on tickets, student and senior discounts are just some of the discount that are available for all different types of shows on Broadway. Broadway tickets can be obtained at ticket counters, ticket agencies, organizations, and brokers.

It is on Broadway where you can watch the best musicals, plays and theater acts that appeal to every audience. In New York the street "Broadway" is the street that symbolizes the theater where live shows are performed. Today the area, known as Broadway to tourists and theatergoers, stretches from West 41st Street, and all the way up to West 53rd Street's Broadway Theater.

In the meantime, Broadway has certainly given us our share of popular stars. When visiting New York it would be a shame and your trip would be incomplete without attending a Broadway show, your best bet is to choose the most popular ones so you are not disappointed. Getting a Broadway ticket for a popular show or play can be both challenging and expensive. <bio>David Marc Fishman is the owner of http://www.bornasuperstar.com The online auditions for singers. </bio>

David Belasco, who had the distinction of appearing on stage with another unknown child, Maude Adams, in San Francisco in 1877, was soon to become a playwright, theater owner and builder. The two brothers from the lower Eastside were, of course, Charles and Daniel Frohman. The first sign of the transformation occurred when producer Rudolf Aronson decided to build a theatre of his own.
Do not think about what the critics say or write. Ignore for one moment, the costs of watching them. The whole point here is to catch any of the current Broadway shows any which way you can. There are an entire multitude of world reknown plays and musicals such as Neil Simon's version of John Waters' HAIRSPRAY, or classics like PHANTOM OF THE OPERA; LITTLE WOMEN; WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF?; SHOW BOAT; LES MISERABLES. Take in the more playful MAMMA MIA. Re-visit your passions in your favorite operas by attending the LA BOHEME re-make, RENT. But make sure you get to see those current Broadway shows, by hook or by crook!

What of you are not in New York or are not planning to visit new York, and can't get to the current Broadway shows? Don't despair. First of all, these shows run for years (the better and best ones, anyway). Second of all, the best are so successful and their so generous and respectful of the theatre arts world that the current Broadway shows get taken on the road--to Boston, Philly, San Francisco, and further.

What if you cannot afford current Broadway shows, whether they stay in the Big Apple or travel to Siberia? Ah, there's still no excuse: there are a number of ways you, too, can be saved. Or, er, you can save money and still be blessed with the most alluring, engaging, and cathartic of the arts:

For students make sure to contact the theater box office, and ask for their student discount ticket prices. Most of these current Broadway shows' theatres, opera houses, and symphonic or any other concert halls would typically have student price and even student group price available.

For those senior citizen, you have the priviledge of getting discounts for the most number of events, similar to that for buses and restaurants, etc. Make sure when you go ahead and order the tickets, that you ask about these senior disount prices.

If you can, go ahead and try for same-day or last-minute tickets. A ticket that is not called for at the reservation window by a certain time (often within a few minutes of the curtain call) is usually made available, AND at a greatly discounted rate. Show up on the day of the performance for any of the current Broadway shows you want to attend. Go to the reserved tickets window and ask if there are any no-shows. Also, tell the teller you will check back (at his/her designated time), or ask when you can return to check for no-shows.

Standing to watch a show is a lot cheaper for obvious reasons. Here in San Francisco, if you take an SRO ticket (Standing-room only ticket), you pay one dollar and agree to stand in the very last aisle in the very back of the theatre...at the very top of the outer space seats. But, for a dollar, you can even bring your own munchies and even your binoculars to the current Broadway shows, shift your feet on occasion, even lean, in some instances, and check out any one of dozens of award-winning, heart-endearing and rewarding current Broadway shows. <bio>Glen B.
Hairspray tickets have been available for several shows at theaters around the country in recent years, and this production has taken several markets by storm due to its unmatched quality in several respects. Although the launch of the show was relatively recent compared to other classics, Hairspray has already taken its well-earned spot among the elite Broadway productions. A look at a few aspects of the show below will help explain why Hairspray will be an integral part of the theater scene for years to come.

About the Story

Hairspray is the story of a girl named Tracy Turnblad, an aspiring dancer who hopes to earn a place on a local television show called the Corny Collins Show. The show is actually based on a Baltimore-based program called the Buddy Dean Show in Baltimore, Maryland.

Tracy is an unknown in the dancing world when she auditions, but she is chosen for a spot and against long odds becomes a dancing celebrity nearly overnight. Tracy is emboldened by this newfound status, and she decides to use her fame to make positive changes to the program. The fundamental basis for these positive changes involves race. Tracy wants to racially integrate the program, and as one could imagine, she is met with much resistance.

Production History

Hairspray tickets first became available at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle before its successful run led it to the Neil Simon Theatre on Broadway August 15, 2002. The play continues to run on Broadway, and has made several successful tours of the United States in order to meet demand.

The story itself is based on the 1988 movie by John Waters of the same name, and theater fans and experts alike have raved about its quality in several respects. That respect was shown in tangible form when the theater production won an incredible eight Tony Awards in the following disciplines: Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, Best Performance by a Leading Actor, Best Performance by a Leading Actress, Best Performance by a Featured Actor, Best Costume Design and Best Direction of a Musical.

As a result of this nearly-unprecedented level of success, the show is currently being adapted into a musical film that's set for release in 2007. If you'd like to see a true modern Broadway classic, Hairspray tickets will provide you with everything you could ever hope to experience with a night at the theatre. <bio>Written by Jay Nault, sponsored by http://www.stubhub.com/ .
One of the must see places to visit while in New York City is the Broadway district, located in Manhattan. Broadway is great if you are on a New York City walking tour, because there is so much to see on this very long avenue that runs from north to south. While Broadway is most famous for its shows, you will see some wonderfully designed old buildings, restaurants of every stripe, landmarks and lots of shops.

The famous Flatiron Building sits regally at the intersection of Broadway, Fifth Avenue and 23rd Street. Built at the turn of the last century, it is a wedge-shaped 21-story office building that still attracts curious visitors. Officially called the Fuller Building, after George A. Fuller financed its construction, it was nicknamed the Flatiron Building because the shape of the foundation looked like a flatiron.

It is rumored to have helped coin the popular 1920s slang phase "23 Skidoo" (meaning get out of here) when men would gather at the building on a windy day to watch ladies skirts fly up in a gust of wind. The officers would shoo the guys away uttering "23 Skidoo".

As you walk further up Broadway, you'll spot one of the world's most celebrated buildings =96 The Woolworth Building, located at 233 Broadway. The Building was commissioned by the wealthy merchant, Franklin Woolworth, founder of the F. W. Woolworth Company. Franklin Woolworth pioneered the concept of discount stores and got wealthy enough to pay over thirteen million dollars in cash for the building that bears his name. The Woolworth Building opened in 1913 and is a National Historic Landmark.

A short ten minute walk north will bring you to the famous Times Square =96 one of the most recognizable areas in the world. Your heart will skip a beat as you stand there at the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue. Not only is this the famous theatre district, but you will be dazzled by the hustle and bustle of people, taxis, and so much to see and do. So, stand there a moment and take it all in.

If you are into people watching, this is the place to be. Sit down at a restaurant table, and watch all the interesting people walk by as you eat a nice meal. A famous place you might want to try out is The Rainbow Room, located just north of Times Square at Rockefeller Center. If you're in the mood for something sweet, Lindy's deli is known to have some awesome New York style cheesecake.

If you get to Times Square early enough in the morning, you can stand outside the NBC Studios and wave to your family and friends as they tape their morning program. The younger crowd may enjoy a visit to the MTV studio, also located in this area.

A lot of people come to Times Square to see a theatre show and this is where you buy tickets. Savvy theatre goers with extra time on their hands can be found at the TKTS (Tee-Kay Tee-Ess) booth waiting in line for discount theatre tickets. There are two locations in the city. The Broadway booth is located at 45th and 47th streets. While there's no guarantee of getting a ticket, you can buy tickets here for 25-50% off regular price.

After visiting shops for souvenirs, you might just pass by the Naked Cowboy (he performs in his underwear) strumming on his red, white and blue guitar and singing one of his original songs. Street performing or busking, is a long tradition in New York City. It certainly adds to the colorful atmosphere.

Continuting on your walking tour, you will reach Columbus Circle, which intersects Broadway, Central Park West and Central Park South. This is the first traffic circle ever built in the U.S. If you are a music and ballet lover, you'll want to see the Lincoln Center, home to the Joffrey and American Ballet troupes, and hosts to many orchestras and special cultural events.

Exploring Broadway Avenue will definitely be a rich experience during your visit to New York City. You will see first-hand why Broadway is celebrated around the world as a hub of entertainment and excitement. <bio>Cruise the beautiful Hawaiian Islands =96 even if you're on a budget http://www.last-minute-hawaii-cruise.com </bio>

The most well known professional theater in the U.S., Broadway Theater District in New York City, is considered to represent the highest level of commercial theater in the world. For student group travelers interested in theater and performance, Broadway represents a world of exciting learning opportunities.

Shows that reach Broadway and thrive there historically have been considered more mainstream than those produced Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway. So it's not surprising that most Broadway shows are commercial productions intended to make a profit for producers and investors. Musicals typically make longer runs than do non-musical productions. In fact, The Phantom of the Opera at the Majestic Theatre became the longest-running Broadway musical in 2006, surpassing Cats. To date, musical productions including Wicked, Hairspray, Chicago, The Lion King, and Rent are just a few of the Broadway musical which have captured the imaginations of its audiences.

The area near Times Square in midtown Manhattan is home to many Broadway theaters. The dizzying neon lights of stardom could make any aspiring performer giddy. And it's here that student group travelers interested in performing can take advantage of the theatrical education programs. Two excellent options are Broadway Student Lab and Hands-On Broadway, both offered by student tour supplier, Travel Adventures, designed to introduce students to what it takes to be a star on stage.

Developed for acting, singing and dancing students, Broadway Student Lab presents an exciting week of theater projects, performances and workshops with talented singers, dancers, casting directors and writers. This program is an excellent value for theater teachers who want to strengthen the core performers in their high school theater programs. In the midst of taking master classes in acting and voice techniques, student group travelers also attend Broadway and Off-Broadway shows and meet with cast members.

After arrival and check-in a New York City hotel, students engage in theater games and an improv exercise, designed to dramatize events currently in the news. On day two, student performers attend "The Business of Show Business," led by an experienced theater professional who shares about the long road it takes from study to stage and how student can also achieve success. Later, a question-and-answer session with a working Broadway actor highlights theater career opportunities. Students also meet "Fresh Talent," a group of aspiring performers who are pursuing stage careers. This group shares interesting tales on what it's like on the road to stardom. In the evening, students enter the magic of "the Great White Way" with attendance at a live performance.

Day three kicks off with a guided sightseeing tour of New York City. The tour highlights the cultural icons of the city, such as Lincoln Center, Central Park and Greenwich Village. From 86 floors above the heart of Manhattan, student tours take in the views from the Empire State Building. The attraction's observatory offers panoramic views from within a glass-enclosed pavilion -- the same where Cary Grant once waited for Deborah Kerr in an Affair to Remember.

The week rounds out with three additional Broadway performances, more workshops taught by Broadway professionals, and a visit with a casting director who provides an inside perspective on the audition process.

An exclusive, one-of-a-kind workshop for theater students, Hands-On Broadway features thematic 90-minute sessions that are both fun and educational. During this program, student participants go behind the scenes with Broadway professional who strives to expand and enhance their skills.

For example, student performers can explore the techniques of how a theatrical text comes to life by partnering with an instructor to better understand the creation of inventive, honest, and detailed scene work. They can also gain a better understanding of what it means to pursue a career in the arts with a workshop designed to arm students with an arsenal of information, including headshots, resumes, auditions, and college admissions. Choral students can perform alongside a Broadway professional while learning about vocal technique. With the help of a musical director, groups perfect a piece of prepared music and then sing along with a professional. A question-and-answer session concludes the workshop.

Sightseeing may also be included in this program with visits to New York favorites, such as the Theater District, Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, Lincoln Center, and Radio City Music Hall, enhancing the student group travel experience.<bio>travel adventures Travel Adventures is a student tour provider staffed by educators who understand the needs of teachers. It has served over one half million students since 1987 and its mission is to "empower teachers to create change by expanding the classroom to the world."</bio>

The Drowsy Chaperone tickets are a chance to see a musical that was most likely never intended to be the hit that it has become. The play was put together for non-commercial purposes, and is the result of a deep friendship shared by many parties involved. A look at the production history will explain the story behind the musical.

Reasons for Production

The Drowsy Chaperone was originally put together in Canada, and the motivation behind it is the stuff of legend in Broadway and theater circles. The musical was made as a bachelor party present to Canadian comedian Bob Martin and his wife-to-be, Janet Van De Graaff, in 1998. It was performed at the Rivoli Theatre in Toronto, and the performance was such a resounding success that those involved decided to do something with such a fortuitous masterpiece.

Martin and his friends decided to add to the production and release it at the Toronto Fringe Festival in 1999. A narrator role was added for Martin, and the play enjoyed the same success as it had in its original private run. Given the overwhelmingly positive response, the team decided to put even more financial backing into the production, which turned out to be a good decision, as the play did very well in Toronto over the next couple of years.

Success Beyond Canada

The show continued to gather a sterling reputation, and ultimately it was decided that the play needed to push towards the ultimate destination for any theatre production - Broadway. Before that could happen, however, the producers offered The Drowsy Chaperone tickets to thespians in Los Angeles in 2005, and once again, the play did very well and garnered positive reviews from audiences and critics.

Ultimately, the show was ready for the "big stage," and opened on Broadway at the Marquis Theatre in May of 2006. The play was the first Canadian production to reach Broadway in 25 years, and has become a national treasure north of the border.

In terms of awards, The Drowsy Chaperone won five Drama Critics Circle Awards, seven Drama Desk Awards and five Tony Awards, and the commercial success of the production has been outstanding in every respect.

The Story

The play itself is a running homage to American musicals in the 1920's and every cultural aspect that was prevalent at the time is featured. The Roaring '20's were indeed a unique time in American history, and the play adds humor and intrigue to these cultural and historical phenomena through the perspective of musicals that were produced at the time.

If you want to see an "accidental" classic for a night of laughter, The Drowsy Chaperone tickets are a great option. <bio>By Jay Nault, sponsored by http://www.stubhub.com/.
Of course, the "Big Apple" has an allure that most U.S. cities simply do not have, yet most people cannot tell you what it is that is so magical and mysterious about NYC. One of the most enticing things about going to Manhattan is the idea of walking up and down Broadway and, of course, seeing a show or two. While some people go to Manhattan to see the museums and to go shopping, many travelers want to go in order to see what really happens on the "Great White Way."

New York hotels are somewhat more expensive than hotels in the rest of the U.S., but most travelers going to the city are prepared to pay more for their accommodations. Most travelers, even those going to NYC for the first time, realize that finding a place to stay in the city can be a daunting task. On the other hand, finding affordable accommodations is possible, even in Manhattan. If there is an area of the city where you prefer to find your accommodations, it is still possible to find something on the more affordable end of the price range that is within that location.

There are plenty of large New York hotels that are situated near major attractions such as Broadway and Lincoln Center. These larger hotels are often listed at prices that match their high-end addresses in Manhattan. On the other hand, there are a few smaller establishments within this area of the city that offer rooms at much more affordable prices than the larger corporate names. The key to finding accommodations in these smaller establishments is to plan your trip early by choosing your dates and then searching online to choose your accommodations.

When it comes to finding accommodations in NYC, the option of sorting New York hotels according to their locations is an important one for a lot of travelers. If you would like to be near the theater district, you will notice that the big corporate hotels are very expensive. If you are trying to meet a specific travel budget, you will want to look for smaller, boutique hotels with fewer guestrooms and, in most cases, without an elevator. If these features sound okay to you, choosing one of the small, privately run establishments will help you to meet your set travel budget while letting you enjoy all that the city has to offer.

Essen Travel at http://www.essentravel.com offers comprehensive searches for New York hotels. The website allows searches by price to find cheap hostels or more luxurious suites. A drop-down menu for lodgings near major landmarks narrows the search even further. Airfare and rental car accommodations are also offered on the site. <bio>http://www.EssenTravel.com is your one-stop source for travel information and excellent deals on New York hotels, Miami hotels, San Diego hotels, Boston hotels and Las Vegas hotels. </bio>

You'd think that over 6,000 performances would be enough to satisfy an audience, but A Chorus Line tickets are coming back, much to the delight of thespians everywhere. The show was one of the all-time greats on Broadway, and it enjoyed a run of nearly 15 years beginning in 1975. The show was so successful that it spawned a related film, and it's getting ready to make a comeback of epic proportions.

About the Story

A Chorus Line is about just what it is - a Broadway production. The show contains 19 characters, including the director, a choreography assistant and 17 prospective members of a show. The dancers nervously show up for an audition, and the director and choreography assistant are charged with choosing four boys and four girls for the chorus line.

As the dancers prepare for their final audition, the director throws them for a loop with an unusual request: He wants to know more about them. Specifically, he wants to know about their lives, their backgrounds, their fears and their hopes and dreams. The dancers as a group are extremely reluctant to talk, but the plot begins to unfold after the first dancer opens up to the director.

A Chorus Line tickets start to display their value at this point in the plot, as all of the dancers figure out a way to tell their stories through incorporated dance numbers and songs. Many of the female dancers tell and sing their stories of how they love ballet for its beauty, to replace absent fathers, and many other uplifting and somewhat tragic reasons.

The male dancers also tell their tales, and the plot becomes quite intricate as the audience gets to know the characters progressively. We won't tell you how it ends, as this is a show that you need to see for yourself to completely appreciate.

Show Specifics

The music for the show was written by the legendary Marvin Hamlisch, and the lyrics were put together by Edward Kleban. The show's original run opened at the Shubert Theatre on July 25, 1975, and ran until April 28, 1990, which came to a total of 6,137 performances. This run represents the fourth-longest in the history of Broadway, ranking only behind Phantom of the Opera, Cats and Les Misérables, three legendary shows in their own right.

A Chorus Line has also won a total of 10 Tony Awards, and grossed millions of dollars in gate receipts and other merchandise. The show is going to open for a highly-anticipated revival in October of 2006, and demand for A Chorus Line tickets will be as high as any show in the theaters. <bio>By Jay Nault, sponsored by http://www.stubhub.com/ StubHub sells A Chorus Line Tickets: http://www.stubhub.com/a-chorus-line-tickets/ and more to just about any event.
Annie tickets have moved beyond the simple aspect of seeing a Broadway show. This famous musical has become a rite of passage for families everywhere, and Annie has inspired little girls all over the world to sing, dance and dream big. Annie is a hero, and the show is returning to Broadway for what is sure to be another successful run.

About the Story

Annie is a downtrodden little orphan girl whose life has been nothing but a run of hard luck. She is poor, hungry and appears to have no hope for the future as the play opens. However, she has a vibrant personality and a general spark that sets her apart from the typical orphan.

Annie is unhappy at this Depression Era orphanage, as Miss Hannigan, the owner of the orphanage, is extremely cruel. However, Annie's luck changes when local billionaire Oliver Warbucks decides to host a local orphan for Christmas. Annie is chosen as the guest, and she moves into the mansion for her stay.

At first, Warbucks is rather cold towards Annie, but the two strengthen their bond through several experiences. Eventually, Warbucks discovers Annie's broken locket, which she keeps as a promise from her parents to come for her someday. When Warbucks attempts to replace the locket, he is confused when Annie refuses to remove her keepsake, and she tells him why she keeps it.

Warbucks decides that he is going to use his influence to help Annie find her parents, and he takes many steps towards doing so, including appearing on a radio program with Annie. Meantime, the plot's conflict is revealed. It seems that Miss Hannigan and her conman brother have decided to try to fool Warbucks into thinking that they are Annie's parents.

If you'd like to see how this intricate plot concludes, you need to secure Annie tickets to see for yourself, as the story and the production has achieved legendary status for several reasons.

Adaptations

Annie has been such a success on stage that it has inspired several productions in other formats. A movie version of the story was produced and released in 1982, and it was such a success that a sequel was produced for television in 1995. Another made-for-television film was put together and aired in 1999, and as a result of this recent exposure, girls everywhere are clamoring for Annie much like past generations.

If you want to see a true classic of theater and see a show that the entire family can enjoy, Annie tickets are the perfect way to enrich your cultural memories. <bio>Written by Jay Nault, sponsored by http://www.stubhub.com/ . He's been "working" the job for a long time, and feels that he is not only the best at what he does, but is also in the prime of his career. He knows the French Riviera, and plans to make quite a sum there.

Freddy Benson is a small-time cheap con man who makes his living not by living the high society lifestyle, but rather by playing on people's emotions by telling them sob stories of his misfortune. Benson's favorite tale is one of his grandmother's failing health and the impending doom that awaits him and his family.

The two meet on a train and begin talking about their "styles." Realizing that each of them fully intends to work the area, they decide to work together. This part of the plot is where Dirty Rotten Scoundrels tickets begin to show their worth, as the stories that unfold are hysterical. The result of these scenes is that the two realize that the French Riviera is simply not big enough for the both of them, so they make a scoundrel's deal:

Whoever manages to swindle $50,000 from an agreed-upon mark gets to stay, while the other has to leave and find work somewhere else. The "mark" is heiress Christine Colgate, and she is no average fool. As it turns out, neither man achieves his goal, as Christine has been swindling both of them the entire time.

The details of how these plans play out are simply hilarious, and this triple cross is a thing of beauty when looking at it from a purely intellectual standpoint. We'd tell you exactly how all of this plays out, but we'd rather you see the play for yourself.

Success

The play has won several awards, including a Tony Award and a Drama Desk Award, and the show will close on Broadway after a successful run of 666 shows. If you love comedy at a highly intelligent level, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels tickets are a great way to see this art form at its finest. <bio>By Jay Nault, sponsored by http://www.stubhub.com/ .
Kristen Chenoweth tickets are a chance to see an artist who has excelled in every effort she's made in show business. Chenowith has built a loyal legion of fans from many walks of life, and she's hitting the stage once again. Below is a look at how this interesting and diminutive star rose to lofty heights, and there's no reason to think that her star won't continue to rise.

Early Life

Kristi Dawn Chenoweth was born on July 24, 1968 in the little town of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Chenoweth was adopted at birth, and enjoyed what can be viewed as a "normal" childhood with a supportive home and a nurturing family environment. She was always the one in her class to perform, and was in love with the idea of being on stage since she was a small child.

This desire took her to Oklahoma City University, where she began to blossom both as a performer and a person. She was voted "Miss OCU" and ultimately won first runner-up prize in the Miss Oklahoma pageant. However, Chenoweth offered then and continues to offer much more than beauty now.

She graduated with a bachelor's degree in musical theater and a master's degree in opera performance. Soon after graduation, Chenoweth turned down opportunities to advance her studies even further and made her way to the theater. It was here that Chenoweth's star began to rise.

Career

Chenoweth's career took off almost immediately after a few off-Broadway performances, but she landed her first Broadway role in Scapin in 1997, and she won a Theatre World Award for her performance. This was only the first of many awards and recognitions Chenoweth would enjoy, and she hit stage superstardom in 1998 with her performance in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Chenoweth won a Tony Award the following year for Best Featured Actress to go along with her Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards.

She continued to star in several productions, including her 2003 role in Wicked, one of the most successful theater ventures of all time, and a show that continues to draw a big crowd to this day. However, Chenoweth has also succeeded in several other genres, including television and music.

In regards to her music, Chenoweth has released 10 albums of different persuasions. Much of her work in the music world reflects her time on stage, as many of her songs are classics from the 1930's and 1940's, and she has also released other recordings of her Broadway songs. Chenoweth knows how to perform in concerts, as her stage experience lends itself nicely to a concert setting. Kristen Chenoweth tickets are always in demand because fans understand that they're going to see a first-class show.

Overall, it's hard to believe that this 4' 11" lady could stand so tall in the entertainment industry, but she's only going to continue to grow in popularity, as she has already excelled in every setting in which she has worked. If you want to see a true superstar do what she does best, get your hands on Kristen Chenoweth tickets today. <bio>Written by Jay Nault, sponsored by http://www.stubhub.com/ .
Times Square, one of New York City's premier tourist destinations, is located on a major intersection in Midtown Manhattan--at the junction of Broadway and 27th Street and from West 42nd Street to West 47th Street. It occupies the blocks between 6th and 8th Avenues from east to west, and West 40th and West 53rd Streets from north to south. Times Square was "christened" in 1904; not coincidentally, so were neon lights and the city's first subway line. New Yorkers wasted no time in starting the Times Square New Year's Eve celebration tradition: they began ringing in the new year at Times Square in 1904 as well.

Previously, the area that has been called "Times Square" for over 100 years was known as The Longacre. On April 8, 1904, the name was changed to Times Square to commemorate the official opening of the brand new New York Times Building located on the triangle of land at the intersection of Broadway, 42nd Street, and 7th Avenue. The building was the tallest in Manhattan at the time. In 1913, the New York Times moved to a larger facility across Broadway and the New York Times Building was renamed the Allied Chemical Building. Today, it is known simply as One Times Square.

During the First World War, Broadway became known as one of the world's premier theatre districts. The Great Depression hit New York City hard, and many theatres had to close or offer less discriminating fare to attract more theatre-goers. Thus began a slow decline that reached its lowest point in the 1960s and 1970s. At this time, Times Square had become (in)famous for erotic bookstores, live nude shows, X-rated movies, and other adult fare. By 1975, many people considered Times Square to be the epitome of urban and moral decay.

In the 1980s and early 1990s, city and state officials began serious efforts to reverse the decline of Times Square. Today, Times Square has been restored to its former glory and boasts over 27,000 residents and over 26 million visitors each year, and makes a serious contribution to New York City's economy=97the annual total output is comparable to the economies of Bolivia and Panama, and far exceeds that of small countries.

New Year's Eve at Times Square is now a global tradition. Approximately 1 million people gather there each year; additionally, millions across the United States and about 1 billion people all over the world tune into the New Year's Eve celebration. The famous ball (currently made of Waterford Crystal) drops from One Times Square, a tradition that began on December 31, 1907 and has continued ever since, except during World War Two when a moment of silence was observed followed by the tolling of church bells, as the blackout restrictions prevented excessive New Year's Eve festivities.

Times Square has cemented its place in American popular culture. It has been featured in movies such as Vanilla Sky, King Kong, and Spider-Man. ABC's Good Morning America and MTV's Total Request Live are broadcast live from their studios at Times Square. Additionally, many exclusive, popular, and specialty retailers and restaurants have locations at Times Square, such as the Hard Rock Caf=E9, Virgin Records, Toys R Us, ESPN Zone, Sketchers, Planet Hollywood, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co, Ruby Foo's, and Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum. Today's Times Square is a perfect family destination. <bio>Johnny Moon recommends http://www.NewYorkHotelDeals.us for all of your NYC hotel reservation needs. </bio>

Let's get the most important thing right out of the way, at last he's back on tour.

Huzzah!

David Cassidy has done it all, from the small screen of television to sell out world

wide tours, from the dizzy heights of Broadway to full scale thetre. Thanks to his upbringing into a family which wasn't afraid to tread the boards, sing a song or even perform a tap routine, Cassidy's fate was written from an early age already performing at his local school with two friends under the name of Cassidy UR3. He soon became known for his soft pink lips and smooth shaven skin as an entertainer in larger play houses in and around his hometown although it wasn't until by a twist of fate he ended up alongside Shirley Jones on the now legendary Partridge Family series. It was this that hurled Cassidy into the limelight and a full time career within the world of entertainment.

As soon as the show launched in the Summer of 1970 Cassidy, along with the show received a magnitude of awards and nominations, finally winning the Golden Apple Award. A cultish following exploded and it was said at the time Cassidy was more popular than even the Beatles. At the age of 21 Cassidy was the highest paid entertainer in the world filling Stadia to the rafters with hits such as "Breaking Up is Hard to Do" and "Rock Me Baby".

His first TV break came with the screenshow "A Chance to Live" which received accolade throughout the industry and led him to Broadway where he literally knocked the socks off critics with his performance in "Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat". Playing on all the great stages including London's West End and alongside the greats such as Olivier it was guaranteed there was never an empty seat in the house.

In 1996 David, in his own words "hauled ass" back to America and opened his show "EFX" in Vegas at the MGM Grand which to this day is lauded as Vegas' biggest and best performance ever picking up a host of awards. Cassidy's humble beginnings with UR3 to the glitz of Vegas and now with a welcome tour on the way, the legendary soft pink lips are once again singing his greatest hits and also with the promise of a new CD out this Winter.

Keep on rocking David, and I hope to see you soon! <bio>A lifelong fan of David Cassidy since his early days as Cassidy UR3 I now work at http://www.69toys.co.uk </bio>

When you mention "Grease tickets" to someone, chances are they'll think you're heading towards a night of seeing the classic film. However, the legendary show is set for another run in theaters, and it's garnering the same rave reviews in this medium as it did originally. The story is timeless in nature, and below we'll take a look at the story and how it came to be one of the most popular productions in the theater today.

About the Story

The story of Grease is an introspective look at the subculture of high school in the United States in the 1950's, and the name of the story is taken from the "greasers" who permeated the time. Greasers were known as "tough guys" from the wrong side of the tracks, and there are several themes that are explored through the character development that's an integral part of the delivery.

These social themes include gang violence, teenage pregnancy, adolescent love, friendship, sexual discovery and class conflict. Each of these themes is relevant today, and the story is set at the fictional Rydell High School in Chicago. The plot is quite intricate, and rather than telling you how it is resolved, you'd be better served getting Grease tickets for yourself and enjoying the story live.

Production History

It may come as a surprise to many that Grease was actually first performed as a live musical before being converted to film in 1978. The first run of the story occurred in 1971 in Chicago. The play was a huge success, so the producers decided to refine it a bit for a move to New York.

Grease opened the following year off-Broadway, and once again, box office sales were brisk, prompting yet another "move up" in venue for the story, and on June 7, 1972, Grease ran for the first time on Broadway. It was another successful run, as the show played to packed houses for 3,388 performances in New York, finally closing in 1980.

During this time, the wildly-successful film was released, bringing the story to the masses. The film and its predecessors led to many revivals and performances by different production companies all over the world, and no matter where it played, Grease was a sought-after ticket on the theater market.

After a few years under the radar, Grease is set to open for another run in June of 2007. If you have yet to see this ageless story, get your Grease tickets now for the latest revival of this all-time classic. <bio>Written by Jay Nault, sponsored by http://www.stubhub.com/ .
