I drilled one 1" hole in a small fall of 8/4 provision 1" deeply for this purpose. To downwards place the white with the end of stick on your bench and to align the acute needle stem with the small cavity of all in the base of the white. To slip the fall above of metal plate and to give it that a couple of good beats with a mallet to pose the front plate with the white. The pressure of the mallet is distributed on the back of the screw of metal plate and pan of head, not on the threaded collar. Start to form the candlestick to assemble the whole assembly on the lathe and to upwards run the tailstock in the small cavity on the end of the stick.

To start the process by turning the base to the bottom with the 5-3/8" mark that you made earlier on the face of the base (8). To turn then the round stick to just more than 1" (9). With the turning turn (I like to turn the latter to approximately 1500 t/mm), to put three marks on the stick: one at the bottom of the cup of candle, one with the top of the pearl lower and one than the bottom of the lower pearl (10). To turn space enters the bottom of the cup of candle and the top of the lower pearl to the bottom to 1" of diameter (11). To use your median tool then to turn a groove below the lower pearl to the bottom to 1" also (12). After, to turn the lower sector of pearl to the bottom to 1".

Again turn now your attention (and your rest of tool) at the base. By the turning piece, to identify a line on the edge of 5/16 bottoms" face (13). The base is frayed on the lower part of this mark to the bottom with the plate before (14), leaving that's of a lip approximately 1/16" of top (15). After, to replace the parallel rest of tool with the face of the base and to begin roughing outside profile of dish (16). <bio>The author, Jeremy Stone, is a recognized American home improvement expert.
Many business owners shun the idea of the conscious business model, because they fear it lacks sustainability. They worry that a focus on employees, the community and the environment means that they will be unable to create a business that will profit. This is a misconception, and today more small businesses and corporations who are utilizing the conscious business model are succeeding. They illustrate how incorporating conscious business principals are increasing the bottom line.

Today, more than ever the business world and Corporate America tend to evoke visions of wealthy business people consumed by themselves and their bank accounts, there is a growing movement of companies whose owners and leadership want something different.

Known as conscious business, company owners strive to consider the effects of their business actions on the people and the environment around them. It is essentially about incorporating social and environmental responsibility into the daily business decision's
and strategy.

How well does your business line up with such ideals?

Most businesses fit into the category of for-profit or non-profit, but conscious business has created a new model--not-just-for-profit. This model invokes a commitment to improving the quality of the lives of employees, the community, and society. Not because it is mandated by law but because it is the "socially responsible" thing to do.

Since Conscious Business has a purpose even greater than increasing the bottom line, it can be a rewarding experience for everyone involved. As a result, work productivity and employee retention increases, which has a positive effect on the customer, and ultimately increases the bottom line.

Below are some common characteristics of a conscious business:

** Owners and employees are aware of the impact their actions and practices have on the environment and other people around them; they strive to live their lives with personal responsibility and an increased awareness of how the planet and people around them are interrelated.

** Owners make an effort to manage utilizing encouragement, compassion, creativity, freedom and growth, where employees work together to meet individual and common goals that benefit them as well as their business and the community.

** The work atmosphere becomes a place for Owners and employees to work together, making a difference in not only their business but in the world around them.

The advantage of conscious business is that everyone wins, the owners, employees, customers and the community. Moving from a traditional, bottom-line focused business to a conscious business may seem daunting at first, but it is possible, especially if change begins with the company leadership.

Conscious business leaders are genuine, authentic, communicative, and focused on serving those around them. They are leaders who see themselves as equals with their employees and customers. Conscious business leaders lead by example, conducting themselves in an authentic and honest approach.

Dedicate yourself to changing your business management style to a conscious business model and be prepared to improve your bottom line.

Your transformed perspective cannot help but flow into your personal life, finances and other important relationships. Conscious business is a path to the business and life of your dreams.<bio>Steve Bernal over his 25 year year career has been an entrepreneur, business owner and consultant to Fortune 500 companies.
When starting a new business you will hear a lot about budgeting. You will learn how to write a budget based on the anticipated amount of income on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and how good your budgeting plan is will depend on how disciplined you are in sticking to the established amount you have dedicated to every item in your budget. Of course, it will all depend on meeting your income projections but many businesses fail due to their lack of action when one piece of their budget doesn't fit together to form the perfect picture of their business.

In many instances, businesses budget their expenses based on dollar amounts and with many fixed expenses such as rent and utilities that will be a necessary part of the budget planning. However, expenses will need to vary based on the amount of income the business realizes, often referred to as controllable expenses, and these should always be based on percentages of anticipated income.

One of the largest expenses in nearly every budget is payroll and by projecting your payroll as a percentage of income, and tracking it on a daily, if not hourly basis, you can better control the bottom line of the business profit. For example, you have budgeted sales of $1,000 per day with, for the sake of round numbers, a 10 percent budgeted for payroll. That means you plan to spend $100 on payroll, provided the sales hit the $1,000 mark.

At the end of the day if sales were only $900 and you already spent $100 on payroll, you are now behind in hitting your profit mark for the week. Unless you can make up the difference in the next six days, and remain at 10 percent payroll margin to sales, you will short that difference for the week. Had you been tracking the sales on an hourly basis and knew by noon, for instance that sales were tracking to be $100 short, you could have reduced payroll to still end the day at 10 percent of the total sales by trimming $10 off the payroll expense.

One of the key issues that ruin many businesses from the start is unrealistic forecasting of their income. Many are over confident and estimate their income at a level that requires everything to run according to plan in order to achieve the sales goal. Things like weather and accidents can affect the income model and without taking those potential issues into consideration, as well as being more conservative in income expectations, many businesses set themselves up to fail before they open their doors for business.

How each of your expense items affects the overall bottom line profit is also an area where many businesses fail to appropriately budget. If you have to sell any products or services at less than the forecasted price, it will affect the base dollar amount you have available for other expenses as well as reducing the bottom line. When budgeting, you have to be prepared to acknowledge that lower income on any level will require a reduction in expenses on another line in order to balance the bottom line budget. <bio>Stevie-Anne Matthews is an affiliate marketer and owner of http://explosivefortune.com.
Business owners know the bottom-line impact of business communication. It doesn't matter if the communication is a memo to employees, a sales letter to prospects, or a thank you note to customers... A clear, quality message can build your business and the wrong message can demolish it.

Clear messages motivate employees, create positive change in the workplace, increase the possibility of getting a raise, and (most importantly) make a sale! The wrong message can mean lost opportunities, upset employees, and can even send your customer to the competition! Which type of message would you rather give?

Use these 4 steps to make sure that your communication improves your bottom line.

1. Know your audience. Ask yourself what is important to your audience? Make sure that every sentence resonates clearly with the message that you know what your audience wants and you can deliver it. For example: If you are writing to your boss and you're asking for a raise, don't complain about the rising cost of homes; your boss is concerned about the business' bottom line. So instead, talk about how you are going to be more productive and improve the business' bottom line because of your raise.

2. Know the action you want your audience to take. Often, our messages can be muddled if we are not clear in stating what we want. Don't "beat around the bush"... make it obvious that you'd like to see a specific action occur as a result of what you've written. For example, if you are sending a memo to employees, don't just write several paragraphs about the need to be on time in the morning. Your employees will think that your memo is right but won't necessarily take action to correct their behavior. Instead, clearly point out the time you expect them to show up, the consequences for not showing up, and a specific action they can take to indicate that they have arrived on time.

3. Make your communication easy to read. At the beginning of your communication write what you are going to cover. Then cover the topics in the order you stated at the beginning. Then review the topic quickly at the end. If appropriate, put a space between each paragraph and break up lists into bullets. Repeat your point clearly in the first and last paragraph. Avoid unnecessary words.

4. Proofread your work! Nothing reduces the perceived value of a business communication like a missing or incorrectly spelled word. If you are dashing off an email to a coworker, give it a quick read-through. If your work will be read within company walls by subordinates or superiors, have someone else read through it too. If the message is leaving the company to go to prospects, customers, or vendors, make sure that you have at least two other people read the communication before it leaves the building.

Written business communication is an important way that we interact with others. The right messages can build our business and the wrong messages can demolish it. To increase productivity, to improve customer service, and to make more sales, follow these 4 business communication steps to success. <bio>Aaron Hoos is a freelance writer specializing in business and financial content.
Wallpaper can transform a room and make a huge difference in its feel and appearance. Today, wallpapers come in a huge range of exciting patterns and colors - making it easier than ever to complement your home furnishings. Hanging wallpaper is relatively easy to learn but does require attention to detail, especially when hanging patterned wallpaper, which requires matching the seams.

Before beginning, you will need to assemble some tools for the job: Wallpaper, a flat work surface, tape measure and level, utility knife, ladder, drop cloth, sandpaper, spackle and putty knife, and a smoothing brush.

If your wallpaper will be hung on new drywall, make sure to prime the wall first with wallpaper primer to help the paper adhere to the wall. For old walls, first wash dirt or dust off with warm, soapy water, followed by sanding over any chipped paint. Old wallpaper can be removed by using wallpaper remover and a putty knife.

Fill any existing holes and cracks in the walls with putty. If left uncovered, these holes and cracks will show through the paper once it's hung and can even lead to tears in the wallpaper. Allow the spackle to dry and then sand lightly until the surface is smooth.

Choose a starting place in the room where your first strip of wallpaper will match up with the last strip of wallpaper you hang. Specifically, choose a corner in a room behind a door or near where your curtains will hang so that any mismatch will be less obvious. You want the focal point of your room to have the fewest seams. Use a level to measure out from your starting point and draw a vertical straight edge on the wall. This line marks where your first strip of wallpaper will be placed.

Then, lay the wallpaper print side down, on your working surface. First measure and then cut the strip to the proper length. You may add a couple of inches at the top and bottom of the paper, which will be timed off later to ensure you have measured enough paper. Measure and cut several strips of paper at one time, making sure to match the pattern.

Most wallpaper is pre-pasted. To activate the adhesive on the paper, immerse one strip right side out in room-temperature water in a water tray or bathtub. Beginning at your starting point, line your paper up at the ceiling, carefully unfolding the top half of the paper and placing the side edge of the strip along the measured line. Allow a few extra inches of paper along the top and bottom which will be trimmed off later.

When you have aligned the half top of the paper to its vertical measure line, open the bottom half carefully and gently smooth the wallpaper against the wall with your hands. Begin at one edge and work your way across, using a smoothing brush or damp sponge to smooth out any air bubbles. A seam roller may also be used to smooth down the edges of the wallpaper.

When tackling the corners of the room, measure from the last full-width strip of wallpaper to the corner. Add an inch to that measurement and cut the strip to that width. Apply the wallpaper to the wall, making sure to totally smooth it in the corners. Then make a small slit from the top of the strip to the wall to allow the strip to lay flat at the ceiling. Repeat the same at the bottom and then trim off the top and bottom.

A wide-blade putty knife can be used to hold down the wallpaper strip at the ceiling. A quality utility knife can then be used to trim the excess wallpaper at the top and bottom.<bio>Safecutters Inc., provides an online store of utility knife box cutters for opening shipping boxes and shipping packages, as well as safety knives to open moving boxes and packages.
If debt seems to be on your mind quite often in recent months, there's a high probability that you've looked into your options and found that debt settlement is growing in popularity as an alternative to bankruptcy. This is especially true since the new bankruptcy law went into effect back in October 2005. Debt settlement, as you may know, is a process by which creditors agree to accept less than the full balance owed (usually around 50% or less) to settle an account. The remaining balance is then forgiven and no further money is owed.

When a creditor agrees to settle an account for less than the full balance, they are required by the IRS to report the canceled debt on Form 1099, if the amount of the forgiven debt is $600 or greater. The possibility of tax consequences as a result of debt settlement seems to be unsettling to many people, including some consumers and debt counselors. When you look at the larger picture, however, you'll better understand why the tax consequences of debt settlement shouldn't even be a major consideration.

When individuals are required to pay taxes on the amount of the canceled debt it's because they saved a significant amount of money, right? It seems that it should be common sense to realize that the total amount paid to the creditor, in addition to the taxes would still be much less than what you would end up paying if you were to continue making the minimum monthly payments each month. As a matter of fact, it's highly likely that the interest paid to a creditor over a period of years would easily exceed the taxes for which you may be liable as a result of settling your debt.

There's also a good possibility that you may not be required to pay taxes on your forgiven debt if you can prove that you were "insolvent" at the time you settled your debt(s). In order to be classified as insolvent you need to have a negative net worth. In other words, you would owe more money than you're actually worth and your liabilities would exceed your assets.

If this is not the case and you're not classified as insolvent at the time of any settlement of debt, then obviously you may owe at least something to the IRS. If this is the case then it's important to speak with a tax professional as the April 15 tax deadline nears so that you may get advice regarding your particular situation. If you're not quite sure where you stand regarding the insolvency rule take a look at IRS Publication 908 for additional information.

The bottom line is your bottom line. If you're in debt and considering debt settlement as an option, the possible tax consequences shouldn't play a major role in your decision. Your ultimate goal is to be debt-free. If you do your homework you'll see the positive results of resolving your debt will likely outweigh any tax liability which you may have and your bottom line will prove it. <bio>Susan Megge is a consultant in the credit services industry.
Perhaps the most thrilling manner of catching fish is by using fishing lures. Broadly speaking, lures can be divided in three categories. Spinners and spoons are typically made of metal; move about or spin in the water similar to real fish. Plugs, which are made of wood or plastic, move along the surface of the water or sink deep below the surface, sometimes staying somewhere in between.

Here are a few tips and tricks that can help when using fishing lures.

Where to fish?

Ideally, it's advisable to not stay in one position for too long. A good way to start is by doing a complete reconnaissance of the water, and then finding a suitable point. Remember, bigger fish prefer still water, so you'll probably find them off the main current.

Finding the right fishing lure

When you a buy a lure, ensure that you pay attention to its every detail. Most fish have extremely sharp vision, so the more alike your lure is to a real fish, the more are the chances you'll catch one. Things to look out for are the eyes, scale pattern, and color.

Correctly using a lure

Even if it appears that the line is only being cast and retrieved, there is method to using fishing lures. The only way you're going to be able to catch fish while using a lure is if you can successfully make your lure resemble a fish or an insect. Remember, fish are not attracted to metal, wood, or plastic, so it's your job to make the fish think there's a meal in there somewhere for it. Hence, cast accurately and carefully, once you've cast your line keep moving the rod tip so that the lure keeps changing its direction of motion.

Some pointers

Almost any fish is attracted to a fishing lure that resembles a minnow or crayfish. For bass, the most effective lures are spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and plastic worms. If you're fishing for trout, it's good to know that trout enjoy fish like pike and saltwater fish, so use shiny metal lures. When it's time to catch some big fish, use plastic worms or jigs.If you're fishing on the surface, which is by far the most exciting, cast your line near the cover and hold still for a few minutes. Then, slowly tug the rod tip in such a manner so that the fishing lure appears to be moving on the surface.

If you're having trouble catching fish, or there appears to be few fish in the water, opt for a smaller fishing lure. For instance, you could use a small plastic worm. Make sure to attach a small weight about a foot and a half above the hook. Again, cast the line accurately and then wait patiently for the lure to rest on the bottom of the water. After this, very slowly begin to retrieve the line. This will cause the weight to bounce on the bottom, which, in turn, will cause the worm to move around in different directions along the bottom.

For more information on the types of fishing lures available and the range of methods that can be used for effectively attracting and catching fish, visit http://www.seaisletackle.com.<bio>Fishing Lures Sea Isle Tackle has been proudly serving the saltwater fishing community for over 45 years.
Contemporary fishing rods do not resemble the primitive cane poles and which can easily retrieve the fish caught in its bait with the aid of the reels in its rod.

Some of the fishing rods sport sophisticated movable shafts that can move except handle and can make it easier to catch a struggling fish caught on snare bait.

The basic design of a fishing rod has remained unchanged. It is thick at the handle (bottom) and tapered and thinner at the tip to make it flexible and provide it handling stability.

Fishing rods are normally 6 and 16 feet (2 and 5m) and have variable capacity to tolerate fishing activity strains. Length of the pole determines the withstanding power of a rod and also decides upon the angling rod's performance.

One of the smallest and less sophisticated fishing gadgets are the Cane poles, which has a basic fly line attached to it and are either made of bamboo or other flexible materials. A cane pole lacks a reel used for applying or for retrieving a baited fish.

Spinning rods are normally used for fishes like trout, walleye and bass fish but are also good for catching any heavyweight or lightweight fish. Measuring 5 and 7 (1.5 and 2.5m) they are the most popular rods presently. Being very flexible and stress resistant they are used in bass fish competition. To prevent line tangles during unfolding of fold lines they accommodate bigger and tougher fly lines.

For heavy catches around 180 to 200 feet under the ocean's surface the jigging rods are the best. Being made of fine, solid material they are heavy and can catch fish even in alternating currents. Often erratic undersea current disturb the fly line and consequently the lure. So to avoid confusion the fly lines of jigging rods are made long and heavy. Such rods are best suited for halibuts and cods that normally dwell at the bottom of the sea. <bio>Areeb Khatib is involved with an online fishing project that informs and educates the fishing enthusiast through well-written articles.
Step 1: Know exactly what you want

The most important thing when buying a new or used car is deciding exactly what type of car you need. Is it a large vehicle with plenty of room or a small fuel efficient car? Are you looking for a Dodge Caravan minivan to take the kids to soccer practice or a two-seat convertible to drive during the summer. First thing to do is define your make model class and price range.

Step 2: Do your homework

Once you know your class and price range, the thing to do is research all the features, safety ratings and as many reviews as possible. There there may be as many as 15 different cars in the class and price range you are looking for, this is why it is best to rely on existing expert sources to narrow down your choice. There are plenty of places to do in-depth research about your car, including online car esigns (online magazine) such as Car and Driver www.CarandDriver.com, TheCarMagazine www.TheCarMagazine.com, Motor Trend www.MotorTrend.com and CanadianDriver www.CanadianDriver.com. Thes manufacturer websites are listed here for your convenience. Www.Honda.com , www.Toyota.com , www.Ford.com , www.Nissanusa.com , www.BMW.com , www.Mazda.com and www.Subaru.com. For reliability rankings try www.Edmunds.com , www.JDPower.com or www.ConsumerReports.org.

Step 3: Arrange for a Test Drive

As a rule, test drive all of your prospective automobiles. While the reviews may be accurate, the only way to see if you like the vehicle is to drive it yourself. It's also good idea to take all war a few family members with you because at the end of the day they will be writing it as well. Your test drive should be at the least 25 minutes and include some time on a major highway or freeway. You'll want to see how the car reacts when passing slower drivers. Use stereo heating controls air conditioning, basically everything that you would normally use. For instance when I bought a Mazda minivan I failed to test the steering column in a lower position which my wife enjoys. What happens in this than is what is lowered for me I cannot see the speed gauges which is pretty important. Also moved the seats around and familiarize yourself with the car's features.

Step 4: Making the deal, the most important step!

Okay so you found the car, you know what you like, you've taken it for a test drive. Now it's time to make the deal. When negotiating with the seller it's very important to know your bottom line. Stick to your bottom line the seller will respect you for this injured deal will go smoothly. Many times people get emotional when making large purchases and are vulnerable to slick seasoned salespeople. The best way to protect yourself is to know your bottom line and stick to it. If you watch automobile auctions on eBay you'll see how bidding activity increases as the auction comes closer to its end. When bidding for a vehicle on eBay motors again know your price stick to that dead if you don't get it walk away.<bio>Gavin is a car enthusiast and writer for Carselleauctions.com a free listing of local new and used cars at auctions.</bio>

You want to get your e-mail newsletter started, but you don't want to be burdened with writing articles every time you turn around. Fact is, writing how-to articles isn't that much of a hassle once you have a system for it.

Creating short, how-to articles allows you to:

- connect with your audience

- position yourself as an expert, and

- increase sales

Bottom line: Give clients information they need and you'll be the first person they'll think of when they run into challenges.

Consider creating a template for your e-mail newsletter articles that will fit the needs of your audience. Ask yourself if they want detailed information, or if they're happy receiving broad ideas that will allow them to tailor the information to meet their specific needs.

If they want specific info, you could always include a teaser paragraph in your newsletter and then provide a link at the bottom of that paragraph. The link can lead to more detailed information about the subject your that audience is interested in.

Once you understand the needs of your audience, place your information in article format. Here's a system I've often used to produce quick, informative articles.

1. Begin with an identifier paragraph.

This is an introduction to the subject. Just let people know exactly what you're getting at.

2. Tell them why they should be interested.

This is where you just get into the reader's world. You will what you're talking about help them do their jobs better? In essence, that's all people really want to know.

3. Give short, realistic pieces of advice.

You have so much to say it's hard to fit it into short bits of info, but do it you must. Otherwise you'll lose your audience's attention. Try to stick to the points that have the most impact or the ones that are completely opposite to what people in your industry are currently doing.

4. Wrap it up.

One of my mentors used to always say to me, andquot;Tell 'em what you're going to tell 'em. Then tell 'em. Then tell 'em what you told 'em.andquot; No, he wasn't senile. His advice actually worked. At the end of every article I just wrap up what I've said by reviewing the key points of the article. It's called a andquot;takeaway.andquot; What's the one thing you want the audience to take away from your article and implement in their daily work lives? Once you've answered that question, you have your final paragraph.

Whatever you do, keep it short and simple. Sure we may want to use sophisticated language if your audience craves that, but you'd be surprised. When reading e-mail especially, readers won't mind short, concise words and phrases. And that's especially true if those words and phrases add more to the bottom line and/or help them become more efficient. <bio>Boost traffic, get more leads and increase sales by learning the secrets to writing well and writing fast.
If you are in the carpet cleaning business you know that it can some times be tough to make a profit. We often depend on add on services to make ends meet. They after all can really add up . Read this article to learn about the biggest add ons that you as a carpet cleaner can sell to help your bottom line.

The number one carpet cleaning add on is carpet protector. If you learn how to explain it well it almost sells itself. Choose a good brand like Teflon or Scotchgard as this will help you greatly. Do not underestimate the power of name recognition. Before trying to sell it you should be able to answer the question, "Why do I need this?" The answer is that protection forms a shield between your carpet and soil. I often compare it to waxing a car. When you wax a car, it will still get dirty but it takes longer for it to get dirty and the soil comes off much easier.

The number two carpet cleaning add on would have to be upholstery cleaning. If you do not know how to clean upholstery you should take a class. Do not just by an upholstery tool and think you can do it as this will get you in trouble and probably lead to you buying a few pieces. When you know how to do it though it will be easy for you to suggest to a customer that they clean that couch or chair while you are there. You can even discount the price as an add on and still make money since the carpet cleaning has already paid your job expenses.

Another popular add on is deodorizing. People love a fresh smelling home and will often pay a few extra dollars to get one that smells a little better. If they have pets this is even more lucrative. Just watch what you guarantee or you might end up making some free return trips to re-treat areas.

One final add on you can suggest is anti static treatments. These are popular especially in the winter when static electricity often becomes a problem. Ask your distributor for a good anti-stat treatment. It only takes a little time to spray this solution on and it can really help the bottom line and your customer.

So you see, there are many ways to help improve your job totals. Keep the above ones in mind the next time you are totaling an invoice for your customer. <bio>Go to http://www.mobilecarpetcleaning.info for more information. </bio>

Fishing is a popular sport among individuals of all classes, races, ages, and sexes. Whether your passion is for saltwater fishing off of a yacht or fishing in the creek that runs behind your home, the pastime has remained a popular one throughout the ages. For generations, people have been using the pastime as a way to bond with each other, teach youngsters about life and responsibility, and provide relaxation from the pace of a hectic life.

The Equipment

The equipment needed to participate in the sport is called fishing tackle. Tackle typically consists of a rod, reel, line, hooks, sinkers, and bobbers. The rod, or fishing pole, is basically a straight piece of slightly flexible metal with line guides attached to it. The reel is attached to the rod near the bottom using special attachments imbedded in the reel. This is used for casting and reeling in the catch while fishing. The line comes in spools of different strengths. The line is wound around the inside of the reel and through the line guides of the pole, after which any other needed items such as the sinker, hook, and bobber are added.

The hooks come in different sizes for trying to catch different types of fish. Sinkers are used to weight down the line in the water and are needed to catch bottom dwelling fish such as catfish.

The bobber is basically a buoyant colorful item that rests on top of the water, but will be pulled under if the fish takes the bait. There are many varieties of these items available for purchase, with some being manufactured specifically to catch a particular type of fish. The infinite variety of combinations of tackle causes some fishermen to have tackle boxes the size of small suitcases.

Types Of Fishing

One of the most popular types of fishing in the United States is bass fishing. There are many people who have dedicated a great portion of their life and money to the pursuit of a trophy bass. The sport is so popular in the United States that there are even video games dedicated to the sport where your can practice your technique and pull trophy bass out of a virtual lake. There are many contests for bass fishermen held in lakes and rivers all over the country with prize money of up to $50,000 being awarded to the biggest and best catch

Tournament fishing can occur on lakes, rivers, bays, or in the ocean. The purpose of this sport is to catch either the largest amount or the biggest of a certain type of fish within a designated time period. Many fishermen take this sport very seriously and some even train for the event for months before participating. The love of fishing encompasses all types of people and provides good clean fun for all. And that is what fishing is all about. <bio>Dennis Symington is an avid fisherman, fishing both the local lakes and also going to the more remote locations by flying in on a float plane.
The job of a medical receptionist is an important one; a job that, if performed effectively, will work to enhance your medical practice, increase your patient satisfaction and minimize the stress of unexpected occurrences that daily life at your medical practice can bring. Undoubtedly, the role of a medical receptionist is key to the long-term success of your medical practice, let alone the protection of your own sanity. A question that you should be asking yourself, then, is: how effective is your medical receptionist?

A medical receptionist is only human, so their abilities to perform their jobs effectively can only be based on and limited to the limits of a human being; in other words, physically performing one task at a time. Of course, and qualified medical receptionist must excel at multi-tasking, but in some cases, such as needing to speak with a patient at the front desk, with two lines on hold with a new incoming call and the need to cater to your needs; no medical receptionist can speak with five individuals at the same time.

Of course, this is an obvious observation. However, in order for your medical practice to operate smoothly on a daily basis, these situations where your medical receptionist is overloaded with more tasks than can physically be performed at one time must be kept to a minimum. While there are options to increase the effectiveness of your medical receptionist, there's one that stands out as a sure fire winner amongst all the rest.

1) You could hire an additional front desk receptionist. For some medical practices, this may be a viable option. However, with the significant costs involved not only in the additional monthly payroll, but in the training and the degraded performance of your primary medical receptionist during the training period, this option would have to be weighed out based on whether it would be a sound financial investment in the long run to acquire another front desk receptionist.

2) You could stop accepting new patients. This option is chosen by many medical practices that have enough of a regular client base where the financial bottom line will not be affected in the long run. While preventing new patients from obtaining services from you may increase the effectiveness of your medical receptionist, it may ultimately negatively affect your bottom line in the long run. Keeping pace with your current patient list while accepting new patients will help your medical practice to grow; though some doctors would simply prefer to work with a smaller number of regular patients for a variety of reasons.

3) You could hire a virtual receptionist. Hiring a virtual receptionist is a new idea to many doctors, but this method is proven to improve the overall performance of their medical practices. When hiring addition front desk staff is not an option for financial reasons and you really don't want to limit your ability to take on new patients; a virtual medical receptionist could help take some of the excess workload off from your primary front desk receptionist while being much more affordable, and dependable, than hiring another front desk receptionist for your medical practice.

The bottom line is this: a medical receptionist can only do so many things at the same time. If your medical practice is growing to the point where one front desk receptionist is not enough to handle the needs of your business, looking for the services of a virtual receptionist might just be the most affordable solution to help your current receptionist be more effective in their daily tasks. <bio>This article is number two in a series By Andy Press about Medical Receptionist, Answing Service and Online Scheduling.
If your pond membrane is leaking there are three main ways to fix it: the blanket method, the mixed blanket method, and the Sprinkle Method. Once you decide on a method you will need to test your soil to determine what the application rate of your sealant needs to be.

Testing the Pond's Soil:

Testing your soil is something that you must do to find out what kind of soil you have at the bottom of your pond. Take a can and perforate the bottom of it and then fill the bottom with about two inches of gravel. Cover the gravel with six inches of soil from the bottom of your pond and then tap it. Elevate the can so that the bottom is open and then fill the can with water.

The sealant you choose should have directions on how much should be used per square foot of soil on the bottom of your pond. Typically these application rates differ depending on what kind of soil you've used.

The Blanket Method:

This is the most effective method for sealing your leaking pond membrane, but you will need to take more care when applying it. After you prepare the surface that needs to be sealed, remove between four and six inches of the soil at the bottom of the pond. Fill any deep crevices or holes with your sealant=97the mixture should be one part sealant to five parts of soil, then smooth everything over with a drag or a roller. After that, cover the area with your sealant=97make sure that the sealant layer is even and that there aren't any thin or bare spots. When the sealant is as even as you can get it to be, replace the soil you removed, but take care to not disturb your layer of sealant.

The Mixed Blanket Method:

Prepare the area that you need to seal just like you did with the blanket method. If the soil is dry then you will need to add enough water to moisten it lightly and then disc or plow the bottom of the pond between four and twelve inches deep and then drag or roll the surface until the surface is smooth. When everything is smooth, apply your sealant in the correct amount. Mix the sealant with the to four to twelve inches of soil by hand raking, tilling or dicing until it has mixed uniformly, and then compact the bottom of the pond by tamping or rolling.

The Sprinkle Method:

You should only use the sprinkle method when you can't drain the pond or if there is an isolated leak in which spotted treatment might be an alternative. This is the least effective method because the accurate and uniform application of the sealant is hard and because the bottom of the pond might not be clear of debris. Simply sprinkle the appropriate amount of sealant onto the water's surface and allow it to fall down into place and plug the leaks. The particles will be drawn to the leaks naturally and will repair the leaks without much effort on your part. <bio>Derek Rogers is a freelance writer who represents a number of UK businesses.
Sometimes it can be difficult to measure the value we get from having a sounding board, confidant or trusted advisor. And even though everyone can benefit from having someone to talk to about their business life, we often miss those benefits when we go it alone or engage the wrong person.

Take the case of one President of a regional services firm. After several years in business, he decided to shift his business plan to grow his company in a creative new way.

Quick to move forward, he engaged what he thought were all the right resources, and had all the right conversations to devise and execute his plan. But in the process of all this activity, he noticed something odd occurring to his company's bottom line. It was shrinking! What was happening?

Perhaps you'd think the answer was obvious. If he was focusing on activities other than immediate revenue, of course that would affect the bottom line. But he was still doing his job. What he did realize is that his employees weren't focusing on the business at hand. Instead, they had become distracted, anticipating the changes that were coming.

Recognizing the impact this had on his business, he was quick to evaluate what he might have done to contribute to the problem. And what he realized is that as he planned this initiative, he shared his ideas with key employees and kept them abreast of his progress. And although he saw them as his unofficial "sounding board", the unintended consequence was that they developed a `wait and see' attitude, assuming that the methods they were using today would soon change. Therefore they perceived today's efforts as potentially wasted.

Productivity's Enemy

This is not unusual. I saw this dynamic a lot in my banking career. During a merger, new initiative or change in leadership, employees become internally focused and pay less attention to customers and clients. Uncertainty kills productivity.

By his own admission, this executive recognized he should not have involved his employees in these early stage discussions, and could have instead waited until the plan was complete and there was something ready to execute. He came to realize that he should have utilized an outside third party to strategize and troubleshoot his ideas, thereby avoiding the negative impact this had on his company.

The Rest of the Story

As it turns out, after completing his analysis of the new business plan he decided not to pursue the new strategy based on the economics. There's nothing wrong with that =96 spending time to explore and evaluate new options is part of management's role. Unfortunately, by involving his employees they became distracted unnecessarily, and at a measurable cost to the company.

The bottom line: recognize the impact that perceived uncertainty can have on your workforce; and never underestimate the value of utilizing an outside sounding board. It keeps everyone on task, helps you gain clarity and can actually save you lots of time and money. <bio>Dave Lindbeck - Business and Career Strategist - Founder, InStep Coaching - Success Strategies for Executives and Entrepreneurs in Financial Services and Real Estate - Learn more at http://www.instepcoaching.com - Subscribe to the complimentary e-newsletter, Talk About Success! at http://www.instepcoaching.com/newsletter.htm 602-277-5170 </bio>

Dog Training using positive reinforcement techniques is the gentle and humane way to teach your dog the rules. You will be fostering a loving relationship with your dog instead of intimidating and scaring your dog into submission. In this article you will learn the basic steps to teach your puppy or adult dog to sit.

1. Put a leash on your dog so they cannot wonder off while you are working with them.

2. Put some treats in a closed fist so they can smell them but not see them. If your dog sees the treat each time he will learn to only obey when you have food in your hands.

3. With your finger draw an invisible line from the dog's nose between the eyes to the top of the head as you say sit. The head will move back to follow your hand and therefore push the bottom down to the ground.

4. As soon as the dog's bottom touches the ground, say "Good Sit" and give them a treat and praise them excitedly.

Below are some Dog Training Tips for successfully training your dog to sit.

1. Keep your bait hand low. While moving your hand over the dogs head, make sure that your hand is not too high or the dog will jump to reach the treats. Your hand should only be a couple of inches over the dogs head.

2. Do not force the dog. Resist the urge to push the dog's bottom down if they are having a hard time learning how to sit. Just be patient and keep trying to slowly draw a line over their head with the treat and they will learn.

3. The dog will need to be weaned off the treats. During the first week use the treats heavily. During the second week start mixing the treats up giving every other time or every third time while continually using praise and excitement. After about 3 weeks treats will no longer be needed and you will be the only reward your dog will need.

4. Even after you wean off the treats, continue to use the sit hand signal as well as your voice. The benefit of using hand signals and voice commands simultaneously is so when you are in a situation where you cannot use your voice to give your dog some direction, such as talking on the phone, you can give your dog a quiet hand signal without disrupting your phone call.

5. Label your commands. When giving your dog a training command, label the action, not the dog. When your dog sits, tell them good sit, not good dog. Your dog will learn the command faster because they hear the command word again and they are praised for the specific command.

6. Keep training sessions short. If you are training a puppy, keep your training sessions under 10 minutes. It is best to have several short training sessions per day so that your dog will not get distracted.

7. Be consistent. Everyone in the family should be involved with training your dog. Children as well as adults should learn the commands so the dog sees ALL humans as dominate and therefore listens and obeys everyone equally. <bio>Jennifer Ivey is a positive reinforcement http://dogtrainingbehavior.blogspot.com who writes articles on many dog related topics.
Massage equipment is something that everyone who gives massages is in the market for. Just as with any trade the right equipment is needed in order for the practitioner is to be successful. Look into any business and you will see that a carpenter needs a hammer, a plumber needs a wrench and a chef needs pans. Such is the case for a massage therapist. In many cases a table and oils are the essential items that will be needed by a good massage therapist. However there may be other needs that need to be filled. In most cases the therapist will need a place to conduct their business and well adequate facilities with which to work. In other words a big piece of equipment that many do not think about is an actual place to perform the work. Look into renting and leasing space so as to have a place to work from.

In regards to the table one needs to look into what type of massages that they will be performing as well as how often. The table needs to be durable as well as comfortable for the recipient to be laying on in order for business to succeed. You do not want to be using a table that was found in someone's garage or bought at a flea market without thoroughly checking it out first. Not all tables are made the same. Look up reviews of the specific tables online and find out if it is the item that will meet your needs. Look at load limits, comfort and portability, if you plan to do house calls. Do not forget to look into your lotion stock as well and determine your needs before going to work. You do not want to go in to do a massage only to discover that the product you need you are out of. Look into possibly working out a deal with a distributor if you buy the product in bulk. Not everyone will offer this, but shop around and see what it is that they can do for you.

One should also consider the warranty that is included in the product that you will be using in regards to tables and lotions. Also look into a laundry service for the number of towels that you will be going through. This can have many benefits as you will always have clean towels, but it may also be very costly. So consider the benefits versus the drawbacks when looking into something like this. Look into all aspects of your equipment as well as safety and cost for yourself and your clients to get the most out of your business. Remember that you will be able to get the most out of something if you know what you are getting in the first place and are not just settling on whatever is cheapest. Do your research and find what will work best for you and your business, not just looking at the initial bottom line, but looking at the bottom line of the future. <bio>Chris Powell has worked for many years as a massage therapist, and has written amazing articles on massages that will educate you about what you absolutely need to know about giving a perfect massage.
