When you are planning to build landscaping borders alongside the walking path or completely raised flower beds and if you go for pre-made materials in your construction you will get astounded on the rates. Landscaping by means of ready made material is not that easy, it requires a lot of money. This doesn't mean that you only go for unattractive cheaper landscaping borders. You can easily get cheaper landscaping borders through numerous other ways.

Finding

Think about moving into an area where they are considering new neighbors and search for a construction site. You can easily get fine sized rocks for landscaping borders, since builders have to make the land plain by digging it first. This will favor the builders too as they themselves would not be accountable for pulling up the stones so most of them would happily give it to you. This activity of finding rocks for a garden can be of a great experience for a family and you can have different types of landscaping borders without spending any money.

There are several other means of getting landscaping borders if there is an absence of a construction site near your area, like exploring the forests or by looking for them beside a country road. There you can get a lot of more valuable things which can be useful in your landscaping borders. If you are not available for exploring such things by yourself, friends and family can be of a great help for you and they can easily do this job for you. Materials and other requirements for landscaping borders can easily be obtained in a few days.

Further Ideas

Landscaping borders is not just concentrated upon the use of rocks; it can be made more alluring with the use of old concrete. You can easily have sizes of your own choice by placing the concrete in a pile and than smashing it with a large hammer. This is a good technique for those who want their landscaping borders to have country look. Concrete can easily be obtained near areas where they are rebuilding the footpaths and driveways. Besides this you can find old concrete in waste dumps for using them in your backyard.

Usage of the old tires can also be helpful in landscaping borders. You can do it by cutting off the sides and than across. Approximately three feet of your yards edges can be covered by just one tire. Bigger tires are even more durable and they can last forever as this material is almost indestructible and can go to even six inches in the edging of the yard. Besides this they do not decay and cannot be eaten by animals or by pests so you can be relieved from these two factors. Tires are the most easily available thing and can be found any where and they dont even cost you anything as you can get a used tyre from a junk yard or look for your own old tyres. This is one of the cheapest way one can make use of so beautifully and the fact that tyres are durable your area on which you have done landscaping will last forever. <bio>You can also find more info on http://www.onlinelandscapedesigns.com/Home_Landscaping/Landscaping_Yards.ph= p on landscaping yards and http://www.onlinelandscapedesigns.com/Home_Landscaping/Pool_Landscaping.php on ground pool landscaping. </bio>

If you are one of those who donand#8217;t mind experiment with the look of your home, the African style is the ultimate choice for you. Itand#8217;s a simple concept of playing with borders running around the rooms. If you decide to go for this look be sure you wonand#8217;t regret your decision.

Ever thought of giving your home or office the African look, go ahead give it a try. Itand#8217;s easier than you ever imagined, getting the African look means adding borders to your walls.

Wallpaper borders play a significant role in giving your room or office the elegant African look. To give this look to your home all you have to do is get a African inspired wallpaper border that goes well with existing paint on your walls. If your wall needs fresh paint make sure it corresponds with the paint in other rooms and then all you have to do is add the borders to it.

Choosing the right wallpaper border

The key to getting the look right for the African style you need to pick the wallpaper border that blends with one of the colors in your room. If you wish to apply fresh paint to your walls, choose a paint that corresponds with the dominating shade in the room and then select the border that suits the color.

The most common objects in an African design are abstract masks either traditional or, modern expression of traditional ones. You could try borders with these patterns or even experiment with the bushango pattern too. A little net surfing can be of great help. A large variety of Wallpapers are available in the market, you can get preand#8211;pasted ones, washable ones and ones that can easily be removed. It is always advisable to take samples and verify that it matches the dominating colors or large objects present in the room, the walls too need to resemble the same dominating color.

Shopping for Your Paint Color

Always insist on getting the shade of your choice and not compromise with something that is close to the wanted shade. Possibly take a sample to the paint shop, it will help them give you the right shade or make a blend as per your requirement.

Changing Your Room

The placement of the wallpaper border is the most important aspect of African style painting. Placing it horizontally at the chair railing height, roughly in the middle of the roof and ceiling will give you the best effect. The other places where it can be placed are, the top of the wall, the bottom of the wall, the base board or the place of your choice ultimately its your house. Do not hesitate to paint the walls if they donand#8217;t look freshly painted. <bio>Adam Peters is the author of many resources on furniture related topics published at http://www.home-decorating-reviews.com .
The following article provides a quick guide on what to think about when preparing your artwork for printing.

It is important you follow these guidlines as any errors made are likely to cause a delay or cause unncessary stress should the final print quality be sub-standard.

1. Check your files Check your artwork for spelling mistakes, grammar and ensure all images used are high resolution. Double check to make sure as any errors found will delay the turnaround of your product.

2. Bleed Bleed is the extra bit of the design page which you design on, as normal, with the knowledge that it will be trimmed off the finished flyer. Any images on your artwork should bleed off the page, and essential text should be away from the trim edge by a good few mm's. We use a 2mm bleed area on each edge.

3. Text Keep essential text away from the edge of the flyer, by about 8-10mm for best results.

4. Print Resolution Ensure your artworks resolution is at least 300dpi. The higher the resolution the better.

5. File Formats If you are using un-common fonts, ensure you supply your artwork as a flattened jpeg or tiff. This will ensure there will be no font problems when your artwork is checked. The most commonly accepted program formats are Quark, Illustrator, Photoshop, Corel Draw, Corel Paint, Freehand, InDesign and Paint Shop Pro. Vector files such as .eps and pdf's are becoming more common and ensure a better end product.

6. Colours Unless you have a calibrated monitor your artwork is likely to have slightly different colours when printed. Ensure your colour choices are correct before sending to print.

7. A Final Check Before sending to your printer, have one more final check that everything is as expected.

WARNING There are two things you should consider when designing your flyers:

Due to the quick turn around of our flyers, they are trimmed down not long after they are printed, in most circumstances we try to give a printed sheet 8 hours to dry completely, this isn't always the case. This is noticeable when one side of the flyer is left white, and the other side bleeds rich colour to the trim edge. This will cause slight powdering of the rich ink over, on to the white side. In this circumstance we recommend the use of borders.

Borders on the edge of a flyer, can sometimes give the flyer a classic look. But make sure the borders are a good few mm in from the trim edge, because of the way we print flyers (up to 32 at a time) and the speed at which we turn them round (from payment, to your door) these borders may not be an accurate trim to the exact 10th of a mm. This is why we ask for a 2mm bleed. The cutting blade could go either way. We cannot be held responsible for imperfect results if these borders are slightly uneven. <bio>Article by Business Cards, Leaflets And Flyers specialist Face Media Group http://www.facemediagroup.co.uk </bio>

Nestled between Thailand and Vietnam, Laos is one of the true jewels of Southeast Asia. Though some parts of it may not be as highly developed as its Indochina counterparts, there is one area where it has managed to keep up - casino gambling.

The Dansavanh Casino is located in Ban Muang Wa-Tha, Vientiane Province. This Laos casino brings in many jobs for the locals, who sometimes do not always have a chance to earn a living wage. The Dansavanh Casino is heavily reliant upon tourists in order to make money. Locals normally only work there and do not spend their wages on gambling. Because neighboring countries such as Thailand are littered with flashy, flamboyant casinos, Dansavanh Casino relies more on tourists from China, which borders Laos on the Northeastern tip (though they do get some Thai tourists in to gamble).

The Chinese government has always been very much against gambling, especially within its own borders. This is why places such as Laos can open up casinos and be instantly successful--gamblers from other countries. Because gambling is so taboo in China, the tourists flock to casinos in excitement to satisfy their curiosity, and they usually spend pretty big. Laos casinos have long benefited from this type of spending.

Recently, the Chinese government forbid their citizens to travel to other countries to gamble. This especially meant neighboring countries such as Thailand and Laos. Because Laos does rely so heavily on commerce with China for income, they agreed to enforce the ban. Though this greatly hurt the income of Dansavanh (amongst others), they are still open for tourists from other countries. It is also believed that many Chinese still come to Laos to gamble, but it is not always in big public Laos casinos, such as Dansavanh.

Casino gambling in Laos features many of the same games that you would find at any other casino around the world. Games such as blackjack, baccarat, roulette, slot machines, and video poker can be found in the casinos. You can even have private or public tables to play at, if you so desire.

Due to the beautiful resort communities and the ability to gamble within its borders, Laos will continue to be a force in the Southeast Asia tourist market. More beachfront properties and even resort casinos are in the planning and are likely to be opening in the near future. This provides not only entertainment, but also a source for jobs and government income for this underdeveloped nation. <bio>This article is the property of http://www.laos-casinos.com </bio>

When you go to India you will find most women clad in the traditional wear called saree or sari. This is the normal clothing, which is a strip of unstitched cloth or fabric that has a length of four to nine meters used to drape on the women's bodies in several ways. This is one of the most popular clothing for women in India. Before, you will have to go to India or to specialty stores in order to purchase one. These days you can buy sarees online and have them delivered to your doorstep hassle-free.

Indian sarees are also used in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. Sarees come in different styles and designs including embroidery with stones, beads, and pearls. Fabric used varies as well -- georgette, crepe, silk, cotton, chiffon, and other fusion fabrics. The more elegantly designed sarees are usually worn in special Hindu functions and festivals since the saree is a traditional outfit. Sarees are customary and sacred. It symbolizes purity in women so girls and women of all ages wear it.

If you would like to buy sarees online you have to arm yourself with the following tips first:

• Buy the sarees that suit and compliment your body size

• Choose fabrics well because it is important that the fabric suits your shape and size

• Women with broader built or those on the heavier side should choose sarees made from lighter textile like georgette, chiffon, or chignon. Bigger-built women should not buy sarees made from crepe because these are thicker. Heavier fabric creates the impression of heavier look.

• Shorter women who stand around 5 feet should buy sarees online carefully. Check that the borders are narrow so as to create a taller stance. Choose small borders or no borders at all. Big borders will swallow the wearer because the saree will be too emphasized.

• Choose colors carefully so that the saree will suit your facial complexion. It is important to request for the best quality photos of the sarees being sold so you can see the colors and designs clearly.

• Slim or thin women should buy sarees made from organza, cotton, tissue, or tussar.

• If you prefer to buy sarees online and you opt for those printed ones, avoid the really big prints because it will be too showy.

• Dark-skinned women can consider buying colors like maroon, green, or darker shade of pink.

• Make sure that you check the credibility of the online seller before you totally submit to the purchase. Be diligent in checking out the credentials so as not to be scammed if you buy sarees online.

To project a very graceful look, pinup the saree and just let is drape on your hand. The fall of the saree on your hand should look natural and not stiff. Although the popularity of the saree as a routine wear is slowing down, the saree is still the most wanted dress for weddings and other social occasions. Since designers are now incorporating something new into the traditional sarees, younger generation of women are now seeing how they can upgrade their saree look so that they can enjoy its freshness and uniqueness. Buy sarees online now so you can become the trendsetter in online fashion.<bio>Buy Indian Sarees and Indian Dresses Online at: www.mianoor.com</bio>

Because of the durable nature of the bamboo fibers, it makes the perfect and ideal material for area rugs that are both environmentally-friendly to the earth that we live in, all-natural, and durable enough to withstand even the highest traffic areas of the home--yet at the same time are easy enough to clean and are also naturally stain-resistant and durable.

Different Styles

Most often you will tend to see a few similar styles of bamboo area rugs. Generally the bamboo is cut and cured into long flats that are then pieced together with an all-natural backing and formed to create a beautifully finished area rug that looks great and adds warmth and tone to a room. Sometimes weavers will make angled cuts of the bamboo, or use different colors to create patterns and images. No matter what type of style of bamboo area rug you choose to buy, one thing is for sure: it will look great and it will easily withstand the test of time and many feet walking over its surface. While bamboo can sometimes be more costly than other area rug mediums, it does tend to last longer.

With or Without borders?

The greatest thing about bamboo area rugs is that you can find them in all sorts of colors and with or without borders. Popular colors like the dark, reddish hue of the 'Corona' bamboo area rugs can be found with or without borders and augment the tone of any room, especially a room that has furniture or moldings that carry a mahogany finish. Other popular bamboo area rug finishes, like the 'Bistro,' offer a more traditional, woody finish and look great on stone or tile flooring, and tend to have darker colored, cotton borders that bring a deeper tone to the feeling of the room, yet brighten it up with the mid-toned bamboo finish.

About Bamboo

Bamboo is one of the faster growing plant mediums that are currently used for all-natural area rugs. Because bamboo is a grass-like plant, the durable and wood-like shoots can easily be harvested from the host plant without causing any damage to the host plant. Since it grows naturally in the earth, bamboo is an ideal, and naturally reoccurring medium from which to construct durable and long-lasting, all-natural area rugs with. The usages of bamboo for flooring roots back thousands of years to the days of ancient Asian empires, where bamboo was harvested and used for flooring and a wide variety of other practical applications. Because it is easy to grow and harvest, today bamboo remains a popular medium for which to create stylish and unique area rugs with.<bio>Michael-Jon Lazar Content-author.com NaturalAreaRugs.com</bio>

An African style theme is not difficult to achieve. Coordinate your wall color to a wallpaper border in an African theme. Match colors to the current color scheme in the room.

Has the thought ever occurred to you to use African style at home or in the office, but you had no idea where to start? It isn't that difficult to do, and you can do it by making some creative changes to the walls of a room

With paint and a wallpaper border that has an African inspired theme, you can transform your room into one that boasts of African style and elegance. If your walls and wallpaper already coordinate, all you need to do is add the border, but if you need to paint the walls to incorporate a border, you want to make sure to use a color that is already in your room, and then add the border to finalize the creation of your new African inspired d=E9cor.

Choosing an African Inspired Wallpaper Border

Make sure you choose an African inspired wallpaper border that coordinates with a color currently in your room or a color scheme that will complement your current color scheme. If your room has printed furniture with a dominating print, the best idea is to choose the background color in that print to paint your walls, afterwards coordinating the wallpaper border to that color.

You will find a nice selection of different multi-cultural designs for wallpaper borders on http://African-Images.com. The most popular design presently is Abstract Masks, which is a modern portrayal of various African tribal masks. You can also give your room a genuine African feel with the traditional patterned Bushango line designs. The advantageous of these wallpaper borders are you can scrub them, they are already pasted, and they are easy to remove. If you are not sure about matching colors with the wallpaper borders, you can order samples. Once you receive the samples, place each one near large objects in the room to check for color match or coordination with any of the colors that are included in the wallpaper border. Once you find a good match, use the color of the object you used to match it as your wall color.

Choosing the Color of Your Paint

If it's necessary to paint your walls before you add your wallpaper border, take a sample of something that contains the wall color you need. If it's not a standard color, you can have the paint store mix it for you by using your sample.

Making Changes to Your Room

You can choose where you place your wallpaper borderand#8212;top, bottom, or chair railing height. Decide where you want to apply your wallpaper border before you begin, and if you plan to paint, prepare your walls and finish that first. Wait until your walls are completely dry before you add the wallpaper border you selected. <bio>Andrew Caxton publishes articles for http://www.home-decorating-reviews.com .
The <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/google+adsense+program" rel="tag">Google adsense program can offer a great way to add income from your website without having to sell any products or services. Most websites could profit well from adsense as long as they know how to effectively increase click through rates without diminishing the user experience by showing too many ads. Here are some tips that can help to increase click through rates and revenues from adsense:

Tip 1: Place adsense ads above the fold

Do not get too shy to place ads at the top of your site which visitors first see when they enter your site without having to scroll down. Simply place an adsense unit like a banner sized one in the center of the page. Avoid the very top as most people tend to skip that part and do not focus on that area too much.

Tip 2: Create a good quality site

Advertisers can now choose which sites they want their ads on so if you create a great site you are more likely to attract higher paying advertisers so you may receive more money per click. Make sure your site is unique and up to date as this will also attract return visitors which can really make a difference since you do not have to constantly get new visitors.

Tip 3: Put ads embedded into your content

If you have good length articles over 500 words then consider adding ad units like the 336x280 ad units directly into the content by using tables to wrap the content around the ads. This will help to increase click through rates since more people will see the ads.

Tip 4: Use colors appropriately

Try to make your ads blend in as much as you can with the rest of your site. Make the link colors match the main links on your site. If you can stick with the regular blue link color for the links on your site since that is what most people recognize as the standard link color.

Tip 5: Use more ads if you can

If there is enough content on the page do not be afraid to add more ads. The adsense program permits 3 ad units and 2 link units per page however make sure that your content is not squeezed too much, always keep the visitor experience in mind first otherwise people will simply hit the back button and not even read your content never mind click any of the ads.

Tip 6: Get rid of borders

Borders around your adsense ads make them appear more like ads and do not help to blend them in with the rest of your site. Remove the borders so the ads look more like a part of your site and this should help to increase click through rates.

Tip 7: Track your ads

Be sure to take advantage of tracking features in your adsense account so you know how well certain ads are doing. Experience is often the best teacher so try different approaches and stick with the ones that work and learn from your mistakes. Try some of these adsense tips to help you earn more money from your website.<bio>Antonio is an online researcher, author and a regular contributor to a site that shows people how to make money online.
Sometimes the only way to truly brighten up a garden is to introduce some shrubs into it. They add a touch of color and they are fairly easy to maintain too. With so much choice available it is hard not to find something which you like and you should notice that it can make a big difference to your garden having the right type of shrubs.

Which Shrubs Should You Choose For Your Garden?

Each shrub looks different and so they will bring different results to the landscaping. This means that you should plan ahead and see what the overall look is that you are trying to achieve. Once you know that you can then start to research the types of shrubs available.

Some of the most common shrubs include:

=95Azalea

Azaleas are flowering shrubs and they can look really pretty when they are in bloom. Although they only have one flower per stem, they do have a lot of stems which means that when they are in bloom, they have a lot of color! They tend to do best when grown in acidic garden soil in a shady position. There are also various different species of Azalea so you will need to research to see which one is best for you as some need regular pruning.

=95The Hardy Shrub Rose

The Hardy Shrub Rose is a fairly popular type of shrub and they come in beautiful colors. They can really be planted anywhere so they are great for any garden.

=95Hydrangea

Hydrangea plants again add plenty of color to the garden and one of their best advantages includes the fact that they are extremely easy to grow. They are best used for borders and in fairly large containers. Definitely a shrub for most gardens!

As well as the ones mentioned above there are also many more. The mistake many people make when thinking of shrubs is that they are just green and they have no color. Obviously after reading the descriptions above you will notice that shrubs do in fact have color and often quite a lot of it! They truly can brighten up the garden and if used in borders or in flower beds, they will really make the garden look unique. Just remember that although they are fairly easy maintenance, they still need some looking after and it is always best to research every plant you get beforehand. <bio>Andrew Caxton is the author of many articles on different web publications, with subjects like lawn care and gardening shrubs published at http://www.lawn-mowers-and-garden-tractors.com.
If you have recently moved home or if you are thinking of redecorating, one of the main things that may need doing is decorating your walls. The walls are the biggest focus in any room and if they are left bare they will make the home feel bare and uninviting.

So, just how can you decorate your walls then? Well, there are plenty of decorating ideas you could try!

Decorating Ideas

There are two ways in which you can mainly decorate your walls and those are:

•	Wallpaper •	Paint

Wallpaper used to be the main form of wall decoration in the past, but these days it seems a lot more modern to use paint. It is all really down to personal preference as to which form of decorating you use and both styles will create a different look overall.

Wallpaper is still available and there are quite a lot of different styles to choose from. Whether you want something smooth and simply pastel colored or whether you want something with a little more texture and a more patterned look, there will be something to suit your tastes.

Paint has also moved on and there is quite a large variety to choose from. There are a range of different makes and the prices which you can expect to pay will determine which brands you go for, but there is something to suit all budgets overall.

When it comes to choosing the colors again it is all down to personal taste but you should try and personalize it to your own tastes as much as possible.

Personalizing the Walls

In order to personalize the walls you can use things such as murals and pictures in order to suit your tastes. Murals can look really good if you take your time and use the right materials. However, done wrong and they can look tacky. So, always be careful when personalizing your walls as yes you do want them to look nice and personal to you, but you do not want them to put potential visitors off visiting you!

You can also use borders to help separate the walls and create a sophisticated and warm look to the home. Borders can look both modern and elegant and again as with wallpaper, they come in a variety of different styles and colors.

Finally, when thinking of decorating ideas for the walls, you should also think about pictures and the overall style of the room. Could you place a nice clock, picture or mirror on the wall to make it look more homely? Cover all angles and most importantly be sure that you are happy with the overall design before putting it into practice. <bio>Andrew Caxton contributes editing long articles on interior design for http://www.home-decorating-reviews.com.
Weeds are a gardener's nightmare and can really spoil your enjoyment of you garden. A gardener's dream is to have a lush, green lawn and neat, colourful borders all free from weeds. It is said that prevention is better than cure, and this is certainly true for weeds. Let weeds take hold in your garden and you will always be fighting them, and it will always be a struggle. Weeding out established weeds can be a backbreaking task, prevention is definitely the key.

Follow the following tips to help prevent weeds invading and taking hold in your garden.

1. Tackle weeds or grass sprouting up between paving slabs immediately -- Either use a good weedkiller to kill them or use an old knife to prise them out. Don't let them spread. Re-point any gaps with cement to stop them growing through again.

2. Membrane -- If you are starting with an empty border or flower bed, you could lay down weed membrane, black plastic from a mulch sack (perforated for drainage) or a layer of newspaper or old carpet to prevent weeds taking root or pushing their way through. Polypropylene is best because it is water permeable and you can just cut into it to plant new plants. Cover with mulch, bark chippings, weed-free straw or gravel.

3. Mulch -- Bark chippings are light and so have a tendency to blow around the garden, gravel can get on your lawn and wreck your lawnmower, so using mulch is a good idea. Buy mulch from a garden centre or use horse manure or home-made compost. Put a thick layer on top of the soil, or membrane, at least 5-10cm deep. Keep an eye on it, you will need to keep topping it up, especially if cats scratch at it.

4. Vertical barriers -- Burying a vertical barrier, such as damp-proof course, plastic or a sheet of metal, can prevent root weeds such as Japanese Knotweed invading your borders. The barrier needs to be buried at least 30cm deep to be effective.

5. Weed regularly -- Keeping an eye on your borders and flower beds and removing weeds before they get a real hold is much easier than tackling a 3 metre high Japanese Knotweed!

6. Weed when the soil is wet -- It is much easier to pull weeds out of wet soil than hard dry soil.

7. Learn about lawn care -- Adjusting your lawnmower blades to cut at the right height, fertilizing the lawn, aerating your lawn etc. will help to keep your lawn healthy and weed free. A dense lawn will be less prone to weeds.

8. Learn about weeds -- Knowing the difference between annual weeds, biennial weeds and perennial weeds will help you to identify the most effective way of dealing with weeds.

9. Take care when planting -- Check the rootballs and soil of plants you buy from garden centres, you don't want to introduce weeds into a weed-free border! If you are not sure whether there are any seeds or weeds in the rootball, isolate the plant in a pot for a while before planting.

10. Keep things clean -- Keep garden tools and your lawnmower clean so that you do not spread any weed seeds around the garden.<bio>C.Wykeham is an author and publisher who writes articles for for Japanese Knotweed Solutions Limited, (http://www.jksl.com), who are the premier UK specialists in the eradication of japanese knotweed. This fast growing weed is considered to be amongst the most invasive weeds in the UK, and is responsible for substantive damage and destruction to lawns, walls and buildings and the environment.</bio>

You may have heard a story about domestic violence, been a victim yourself or just don't understand why women stay, whatever your reason for being interested in Domestic Violence Awareness, you are at least making an attempt to educate yourself and possibly help someone else and that's all anyone who once was a victim and those who are now deceased would want, but for those people who want to do more, the following are tips to help you get started.

First, conduct research about domestic violence. You should be able to answer some of the why, how, when, what, and who questions related to the subject. Also, read about others' plights. Even though many of the stories have similar patterns, there is always something new in each that may stimulate thoughts of " I never knew that."

Second, be sure that you are sincerely empathetic and not judgmental about those who have been in violent relationships. You will know if you have resolved your own issues about women who stay, by how you react when listening to their stories. If you find that you are pushing down negative feelings and trying hard to refrain from making harsh comments, then it would be best that you don't attend any events or visit places where people are sharing their traumatic ordeals until you can get a command over your own feelings. The last thing that any victim or survivor wants is another person telling them "how stupid" he or she is for staying.

Third, conduct research in your community of existing events about domestic violence awareness. Are there any groups hosting a vigil for the deceased? What about workshops and seminars? Are there any advertisements, public service announcements, fliers, or some other literature readily available and widely seen in your neighborhood to call attention to the problem.

Fourth, find out from local police how they respond to domestic violence calls and what you should do if you hear or witness someone being abused.

Fifth, create a list of ways you may be able to let people know about domestic violence. You may want to distribute information and trinkets with a hotline number and/or create a fund-raiser and give the proceeds to a local women's shelter. Take out ad space in your local newspaper. If you are affiliated with a church, find out how leadership handles domestic violence cases and offer to speak about the issue. You can also work with schools and local colleges to appear as a guest speaker.

Sixth, pen your experience in a form of a book or record your story on audio. Let people know how you overcame your own situation. Then offer your book or audio to individuals or organizations who might be interested in your subject matter. A local theater may be interested in performing your life story in play form.

Lastly, be a good listener. Know what to say and how to say it when someone shares details of their life. Be ready to provide advice. You can obtain information from any women's shelter or simply type in "domestic violence" along with your state's name in your search engine window. A list of organizations are already established with free information to help you.<bio>Nicholl McGuire is Author of Laboring to Love an Abusive Mate, available at Amazon, Target, Lulu and http://Borders.com http://www.amazon.com/Laboring-Love-Abusive-Mate-21-year-old/dp/1434818306</bio>

If you are looking for stones to use in your landscaping design, then you are in luck. Stones for landscaping come in a wide variety of different colors and sizes to enable you to find exactly the right look for your particular landscaping design.

Finding the Right Stones You may be able to find some great stones in your own yard. If you live in an area that is rocky, then you may be able to find some rocks simply by digging in your yard. Your landscaping design will thank you for the added visual interest and texture.

Purchasing Stones for Landscaping You should have no difficulty in finding stones to purchase for your landscaping design. Most garden stores and home improvement stores carry a wide variety of different colored and sized stones. You may also be able to locate a private landscaping company that sells stones, as well. They may even deliver them right to your home if needed.

Color and Shape Variety You will be able to find any color, shape, or sized stone that you want or need for your landscaping plan. You can find anything from perfectly round stones that are manufactured to more natural looking stones that are more free-formed in size and shape.

Stone Retaining Walls Stones can be used for other purposes besides a walkway. If you see a retaining wall in your landscaping plan, then using stones or rocks will be great. Stones and rocks will help give your landscaping design beauty and security.

Borders and Gardens If your flowerbed or garden needs a border, then stones and rocks are a great choice. They will help to enhance the beauty of your garden or pond. They can add color and texture to your garden to make it more visually appealing and interesting.

Best Stones To Use Two of the many kinds of stones are flagstone and river rock. These rocks are great for any landscaping project -- from retaining walls to borders to stepping stones. Flagstone comes in many different colors to help match your outdoor dιcor. River rock is a little smaller in size, but it comes in the same variety.

If you need to fill in areas, then river rock is an excellent choice for this purpose, too. It will work well to keep weeds from coming up in spaces left in flowerbeds.

Using landscaping stones will most assuredly add beauty and interest to your landscaping design. Why not try it? <bio>Andrew Caxton is the consultant of http://www.lawn-mowers-and-garden-tractors.com .
While buying holiday property is nothing new to Brits, buying holiday property in Turkey is. Until recently, Turkey blocked foreign nationals from owning property. In 2003, however, the government enacted a reciprocity law that allowed nationals from countries that allowed Turkish citizens to buy property beyond their borders to buy property in Turkey. This law opened up the way for those in the UK to purchase holiday property and second homes in Turkey.

Since the UK has been allowed to purchase property beyond Turkish borders, many have taken advantage of the offer. Holiday homes in popular tourist spots such as Izmir, Bodrum, Marmaris and Alanya among others are extremely popular. What's more is that these properties can be purchased for as little as 50,000 pounds.

Before you jump right in and purchase a holiday property in Turkey, there are several things that you should consider. Buying property is never a decision that should be taken lightly. To make sure that you're fully prepared to own a second home or holiday property, you should take into account the following:

• Your Budget -- You should never purchase a property that is listed above what you can afford. To figure out what you can afford, you will need to set a realistic budget. And don't depend on rental income from your holiday property. If you plan to rent out the property, there may be time periods when your property will sit empty. You will need to be able to make the mortgage repayments during this time. If you're not sure what you can afford, a mortgage calculator may help you set a budget.

• Travel Constraints -- Buying property can be an emotional experience, but you need to make sure you are doing it for the right reasons. You should also take into account how much time you will be able to spend at the new property. Be sure to take into account travel costs and time needed off of work.

• Managing the Property -- Property requires upkeep. Who will take care of it while you're not visiting? Will you hire a management company? This will cost money and should be included in your budget.

• Length of Investment -- How long do you plan to hold the property? You should have a clear investment strategy in mind. This plan should include when you want to sell the property and what you want to do with it during the time period that you hold it. Be sure to leave a little room in your plan for changes in the market.

Whenever you make a property investment, you should do so with a clear goal in mind. Try to avoid making emotional purchases, and pay attention to the numbers. Look for the best deal you can get in the best location you can find. Even if it is not the most perfect property you can find, you will get the most return for your investment if you pay attention to the details<bio>Steven Clarke - Marketing Manager for www.turkeypropertyclub.com.
As I watched the evening news, I wondered why no one else seemed to understand that our porous southern borders were open doors for Middle Eastern terrorists. Perhaps it was fresh on my own mind because I'd had a recent conversation with a Virginia Police Chief, who told me his department had been notified by Homeland Security of the potential risk. Our government had received information that Middle Eastern terrorists loyal to al-Qaeda had arrived at the conclusion that the average white American would not know the difference between a Middle Eastern operative and a Latino migrant worker. They could easily get into Mexico, assume Hispanic identities, and simply walk across our borders along with millions of Latinos.

Once in the United States, the terrorists could live amongst the illegal immigrant community. Of course the immigrants would know these people did not belong in their midst, but they would never report them to local law enforcement. To do so would bring the law into their community, perhaps searching house-to-house, and the illegal immigrants themselves could be arrested and deported. Instead, they would mind their own business=97even if terrorist sleeper cells existed alongside them.

This information became the basis for my latest suspense, Ricochet. Sheila Carpenter, who made her debut appearance in an earlier book, Kickback, is now attending the FBI Academy at Quantico. She finds information leading her to believe that her parents might not have died accidental deaths but were murdered. This hunch leads her on a journey where she follows her mother's footsteps in the days before she died=97a journey that takes her into the heart of illegal immigration and terrorism within our own borders.

To date, there is an estimated 21 million illegal immigrants in the United States. That means there are 21 million people living amongst us that we know absolutely nothing about. We don't know their true identities, their history, their criminal records, or their intent. If only one tenth of one percent intend to harm us, that is an astounding 21,000 terrorists or criminals that could be living amongst us. In an age where an American sex offender is listed on the Internet, Americans' criminal records are made public, and Americans are tracked through a pyramid of electronic records, the illegal immigrant=97or terrorist crossing our borders=97has no record at all. On paper and electronically, they do not exist.

When I began writing Ricochet, I made the conscious decision not to inject my own opinions into the story. I would not judge the Hispanic illegal immigrant population, but I would instead lay out the very real threat that occurs when a country's borders are wide open. Since Ricochet was released, I have heard from many people on both sides of the issue.

I spoke to a school teacher who knew her third grade student was living under an assumed name; his mother actually had two fictitious names. The teacher was adamant and emotional about protecting "this poor family."

I spoke to an emergency room doctor who was to perform surgery on a man injured on the job; a man who could speak no English and who, it turned out, was working more than 200 hours a week. Realizing more than one person would have to be using the same identity, he refused to operate until he knew the patient's real name and true medical history=97facts that saved him from medication to which he was allergic. It turned out that four people were using the same identity at the same meat processing plant.

I spoke to a landlord who rented his 1,000 square foot home to a nice, young Latino couple with an infant, only to learn that more than 70 illegal immigrants had moved in, completely destroying his home. Unable to pay for the repairs, the landlord has been forced to leave the house empty for months. He admitted the bank will probably foreclose.

I've spoken to more than one person who had their identities stolen. Though our judicial system is supposed to be founded on the principle "innocent until proven guilty" the victims of identity theft were presumed guilty of criminal activities and poor credit, and they were forced to prove they were NOT the culprits.

While the nation is debating whether the explosion of illegal immigrants are law-abiding citizens who simply want the American dream or are criminals who are taking over whole communities, there is a different picture the average American isn't getting: the nation's security. If a poor Latino who, as some allege, simply wants to work in our country can obtain a set of illegal documents, what could a terrorist do? The World Trade Center was attacked by only a handful of people, not an entire army. As long as our borders remain porous enough to allow men, women and children to simply walk across it, what would possibly prevent a terrorist from doing the same? <bio>p.m.terrell is the author of three suspense/thrillers (Ricochet, The China Conspiracy, and Kickback), a how-to book for authors entitled Take the Mystery out of Promoting Your Book, and four computer books.
With summer time coming to an end I decided to tidy up around the edges of the garden which consists mainly of very old silver birch trees and large conifers. After a general tidy up around the borders of the grass and finally into the borders I had managed to clear a path sufficiently so that I could get at the low and overhanging branches.

Some issues where that the branches where growing such that they where protruding into the fence and in places had caused damaged to the panels, 3 of which needed replacing. In order to avoid further damage, not to mention give the garden a sense of shape, harmony and general neatness I decided I would chop away at the main brace of the branches.

After considering the purchase of a chainsaw I decided against it, mainly because of the all round general fear factor from using one! Plus I ascertained there was the extra cost of personal protective equipment such as kevlar trousers, jacket, hat and eye protection. I already had the safety footwear so that wasn't an issue.

Inspection of the branches gave an average branch diameter of around 4cm and while that isn't too thick, there were lots of branches to cut, and I mean lots - probably in the region of two hundred or so. For those of you who have ever taken a bow saw to a couple of hundred branches then I guess you understand my apprehension with this method!

So a trip to my local hardward / DIY store meant I stumbled across the Black and Decker Alligator Lopper, a fine looking garden tool if there ever was one. The best way to describe it would be a cross between a garden lopper and a power chainsaw, an alligator and a bird of prey, well I hope you get the idea.

The safety aspect comes in because the chain is enclosed on the outer edges, leaving a much safer bar of 10cm in length having a pitch of 1/4. It isn't the quietest of tools out there but considering it's usage then I wouldn't really have expected anything different, when using all power tools it is advised to use ear protection and this was no different. Weight is acceptable although I did find myself taking a small breather every twenty branches or so.

Maintenance is easy, a simple unscrew to add the chain oil, which I did have to do around ten or so times during the duration of the days work, not too bad considering the volume of work.

In summary, at just under $250.00 I have had my fair use out of the Alligator Loppers already and while it's not something I would use every day in the garden I can certainly see it will quickly become a tool which I depend upon, never again will I have to dig around in the shed for that rusty old bow saw and begin the arduous task of manually lopping branches.

It certainly gets the thumbs up from me! <bio>Paul Disley is a hand and powertool professional writing for http://www.powertooldirect.co.uk </bio>

What is Schengen Visa?

If you plan to travel to European countries that implement Schengen agreement, a Schengen Visa simplifies your travel between those countries.

With Schengen Visa you can travel between Schengen coutries like travelling inter-state in USA. So all internal air, road and train travel are handled as domestic trips between those countries.

What is Schengen?

If you are curious about what "Schengen" is, Schengen is a wine-growing village in south-eastern Luxembourg near the point where the borders of Germany, France and Luxembourg meet together.

Which Countries Can I Travel With Schengen Visa?

At present, there are 15 Schengen countries in Europe. The 15 Schengen countries are;

1. Austria 2. Belgium 3. Denmark 4. Finland 5. France 6. Germany 7. Iceland 8. Italy 9. Greece 10. Luxembourg 11. Netherlands 12. Norway 13. Portugal 14. Spain and 15. Sweden.

All these countries except Norway and Iceland are European Union members.

What are the Benefits Of Schengen Visa?

Before Schengen people from some countries were required to have separate visas for every country in Europe they wished to visit. A vast network of border posts existed around the continent which disrupted traffic and trade, causing delays and costs to both businesses and visitors.

With the Schengen Agreement, border posts have been closed between participating countries. Road traffic is no longer delayed; road, rail and air passengers no longer have their identity checked when crossing borders.

How to Apply for Schengen Visa?

People from Non-EU(European Union), Non-EEA(European Economic Area) countries who wish to visit Europe as tourists, and who require a visa to enter the Schengen area, are simply required to get a common Schengen Visa from the Embassy/Consulate of the Schengen country they intend to visit first.

First determine which Schengen country you are planning to visit. Then to get your visa, you have to submit required documents to the embassy or consulate of the country you are visiting in the Schengen area. If you plan to visit more than one country in the Schengen area, the visa will be issued by the country through which you enter the Schengen area.

After this, they may visit any or all of the Schengen countries as tourists or for business without hindrance. They are not required to get separate visas for all the (Schengen) European countries they wish to visit.

Required Documents

Following are some of the required documents when submitting your application. Check with the embassay or consulate for more detail.

Your Schengen visa form

You must use the standard document supplied by an embassy or consulate and submit the required number of copies.

Passport

A passport, valid for at least three months longer than the requested visa.

Some other useful documents

1) Have some documents that describe your purpose of visit. 2) Proof for your means of existence (finacial proof) for the duration of your stay 3) Proof of Stay. (Hotel Reservation etc) 4) In some cases proof of medical insurance.

Important Information.

Eventhough you can travel with one visa between Schengen countries, it is always safe to carry your passport and any other identification with you. Some countries like Sweden and Finland still maintain customs control at their borders. Non-EU members Norway and Iceland are not a part of the EU customs union and therefore enforce the same level of custom control towards any traveller regardless of whether they come from within the Schengen area or not.

For more information visit Mark Robert's Blog at http://schengenvisas.blogspot.com <bio>Mark Robert Blogs about Health, Weightloss, Fitness, Software etc. His travel blog about Schengen Visa is http://schengenvisas.blogspot.com.
Thinking up decorating kids rooms ideas can be problematic, we know. Do you go with the tried and true (but somewhat dull) avenues or step out on your own?

How much attention do you pay to your five year old who insists that pink, orange and red are the perfect colors for her walls, or your young son who wants a suspending bed because he saw it on a movie?

The truth: decorating kids rooms ideas should be a mixture of what your child wants now and what you know he or she will need later on. But, leaving out the practical focus, we use this article to offer some ways for you to express your creative side. Use these suggestions to add extra touches of fun to all of your decorating kids rooms ideas.

One: paint. As obvious as it sounds, you would be surprised how many people fail to utilize colors. They settle for painting the room one shade and let it drop. Why not try something more inventive?

If your child has two favorite colors, you could use those shades in compliment of one another (assuming they do, of course. You don't need to indulge colors that don't go together). Popular decorating kids rooms ideas include using the primary colors of red, blue and yellow together to create a festive new room.

It is bold and offers something better than the usual one hue on the walls.

Two: wall paper and borders. If you do not want to paint, or just want to use one color for a more neutral background, then do suggest using wall paper or borders. These decorating kids rooms ideas can make any wall pop.

The options are limitless and you can carry out any theme you want. And, if you want to change directions later on, they can be removed.

Three: stencils. Never underestimate the importance of drama, and stencils rank among the best decorating kids rooms ideas to do that. Whether you want to achieve a 3-D effect of a suit of armor for a castle theme or just do something as simple as the alphabet, stencils will make the job easier and add so much to a room.

Four: wall stickers. Similar to stencils, these can definitely add the right touches of uniqueness. Unlike stencils, however, no painting is involved. If you do not trust your skills with a brush, then we suggest simply applying these stickers to the walls. They can be as extensive as any stencil, if not more so, and will simply peel off when you want them gone.

Five: personalized wall coverings. For these decorating kids rooms ideas, you just need to use your son or daughter. Let their artwork hang around the room (this is especially helpful if you are not going with a real theme) or let them make a cluster of hand prints on the wall to border the door or windows.

Use their photos to make special collages to hang. Get the picture? Make the room a tribute to them.

These are just a few decorating kids rooms ideas that you can use to create a truly magical room for your child. <bio>Micheal is the creator of http://www.kids-rooms-and-crafts.com.
