MRSA stands for Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus. It is also better known and referred to as the 'superbug.' It has been around since 1961 despite popular belief. It was only in the early 90's that it spread quite dramatically and caused health problems and even death to many people in the UK. According to the UK office for National Statistics, they sadly reported 1,629 MRSA-related deaths in England and Wales during 2005.

The virus can be easily spread by merely being in contact with someone who has it, but it can also be spread through contact with towels, sheets, clothes, dressings or other objects. The MRSA virus can also survive on objects and surfaces such as door handles, sinks, floors and cleaning equipment. You can diagnose MRSA through blood and urine tests

The baceria is called Staphylococcus Aureus and apparently 1 in 3 of us carries it on the surface of our skin or in our nose. This generally causes no harm if the carrier is healthy; however if a carrier comes into contact with a vulnerable patient, i.e. someone with lowered immune system, a person with open wounds or someone who has just had surgery the they can pass the infection onto these people.

If the bacteria Staphylococcus Aureus gets into your body through a break in your skin it can cause infections such as boils, abscesses, or impetigo. If the bacteria gets inside into your bloodstream it can cause more serious infections such as the blood poisoning, septic shock, severe joint problems, bone marrow infection, internal abscesses anywhere within the body, inflammation of the tissues that surround the brain and spinal cord, lung infection or infection of the heart lining.

Trying to prevent the spread of MRSA is a tricky business. The measures to prevent the spread of organisms from one person to another are called isolation or infection control. The most important type of isolation is called contact isolation where everyone in contact of the MRSA sufferer has to wash their hands after touching the patient or anything to do with the patient. If there are a number of patients infected with MRSA then moving them to an isolation unit is the safest way to minimise the spread.

Unfortunately more and more people are going into hospital for minor illnesses or ailments only to catch MRSA and end up far sicker than previously. It is worth pursuing a compensation claim if this happens to you as you shouldn't have caught this virus and suffered in this way. You are well within your rights to make a claim for compensation even though it can be difficult to prove clinical negligence. A professional lawyer should be enlisted to help you. There is no need to worry about lawyers fees as there is the 'no win no fee' agreement that allows anyone to take on a compensation claim. The lawyer will be working for free and only in the event of the winning case will the lawyers fees be paid via the insurance of the losing party. If the case is lost there is insurance to cover fees.<bio>Carolyn Clayton is the webmaster for accidentconsult.com, experts in claiming compensation for MRSA.</bio>

Horses are susceptible to a variety of diseases and the wide majority of them we are not too concerned with because we vaccinate our horses. It is important to remember that just because some diseases are vaccinated against, your horse may still be able to contract them but the vaccination will lessen the effect of the disease. Vaccinations are important because you never know what may be floating through the air from a sick horse passing by in the stable or even riding down the road in a trailer.

Influenza and Rhinopneumonitis

These are respiratory diseases that are very similar to the human flu. These diseases have very similar symptoms to the flu. Your vet may recommend that your horse be vaccinated every 3 months or at least every 6 months for these diseases, depending on how often you travel with your horse and often the horse is exposed to other horses.

Tetanus

Tetanus is a bacterial disease that a horse contracts through open wounds. A horse should receive regular tetanus boosters, as the disease is easily contracted through puncture wounds and lacerations. The bacterial disease wreaks havoc on the horse's nervous system and may cause brain damage. The prognosis is generally poor for a horse that contracts tetanus, so horse owners want to do their best to prevent it. The symptoms include extreme sensitivity to touch and spasms in the neck and jaw muscles. It is recommended that horses receive these vaccinations at least once per year.

Strangles

Strangles is a very contagious disease that spreads from horse to horse very easily. Many horses will have the virus, but show no symptoms, which makes it even harder to detect until other horses begin to show symptoms. Horses will generally have a pus discharge from the nose and abscesses form in the lymph glands. The abscess will often burst with thick yellow pus. The horse may develop a fever and go off feed. Most animals will recover, but the care for these horses can be very difficult, especially if they develop the abscesses. Horses should be on a regular vaccination program for strangles, especially breeding and performance horses. Strangles live in the ground and there are various strands that may develop. High-risk horses include broodmares, stallions and performance horses. They should be vaccinated every six months. You should also vaccinate if you are moving to a new stable and ask if they have their own version of the vaccine for their particular strand of virus. <bio>Now you can enjoy your horse decor from http://www.gifts-for-the-horse-lover.com/horse-decor.html, knowing your horse is protected. </bio>

A big pimple appearing on the face the day of a big event is likely to be distressing. Pimple on your back, though out of sight, are painful. No one wants to be plagued with pimples anywhere. There is no need to suffer unnecessarily. You can get rid of pimples and with proper care, keep the breakouts minimal.

A pimple begins in a pore of your skin. A healthy pore is clean and unblocked. The problem begins when dead skin cells and oil clog up your pore. Bacteria then breeds in the mix causing an inflammation or irritation which we see as a pimple. That is why you should not pick your pimples as you can end up spreading the bacteria, leading to more pimples.

Your skin is not without its defense. It has an acid mantle that bacteria finds inhospitable. However, when you wash your face, you also wash away that layer of protection and your skin takes half to one hour to regenerate that protection. It then makes sense to use a moisturizer or toner after washing your face, to restore your skin's protection.

That said, to get rid of pimples, you have to unclog the pores and keep a layer of protection to deter bacteria from building up.

The best way to unclog your pores is to exfoliate. It could be a physical exfoliation via a grainy scrub, or a chemical one using AHA or salicylic acid to dissolve the 'glue' that makes the dead skin cells stick to the pore walls. Go for something gentle so you do not irritate your skin further.

Next, you need to kill the bacteria. Did you know you could go to your family doctor to get your acne and boils treated? He would typically prescribe an antibiotic cream and a course of antibiotics. That works because when the bacteria responsible for the inflammations is eliminated, your pimples and boils would go a way. The problem with pimples is that after you finish the antibiotics and if your immune system is still unable to control the bacteria growth on your skin, the pimples would return. A long term course of antibiotics stretching over months might not appeal to everyone.

There are other ways to get rid of the bacteria. Over the counter preparations and acne treatments from Clinique, Clarins and other beauty brands are effective too. Some of the ingredients to look out for include benzoyl peroxide which is found on many of the cheaper over the counter acne preparations. What benzoyl peroxide does is to force oxygen into the pore making it inhospitable for bacteria to live in, killing the acne bacteria which hates oxygen. Salicylic acid is another ingredient that works by unclogging the pores. Tea tree oil kills the bacteria outright. These are just some of the possible ingredients you might find in your acne preparations.

For boils, applying a drop of tea tree oil on each boil every 2 hours may be enough to kill the bacteria and bring down the boil. But don't fool around with boils. These can develop into abcesses which may need surgery, so see the doctor as soon as possible if you have a boil.<bio>The bottom line is this. You don't have to live with pimples. Treat your blemishes quickly. Be proactive and get acne skincare to banish the pimples, or see a doctor about it.
Mother says, "A Noni a day, will keep the doctor away."

Hi, my name is John, and I want to let you know the truth about Noni - also known in the world of plants as morinda citrifolia. I am qualified to share Noni with you, not only because I am a youthful looking, handsome, and sexy guy, but also because I have a Noni plant growing in my back yard.

Yes, right here behind my house in the Philippines, and many of my neighbor's yards have noni plants also. The black volcanic soil here is excellent for growing the noni plants. My wife went outside this afternoon and picked a small basket of fresh Noni fruit for me for later today. Lucky me!!!

When I drink the noni fruit juice, I like to mix it with a little pineapple juice and 7-Up to make the taste easier to swallow. The seeds are very spicy - like hot peppers -- and burn my tongue when I suck on them to get loose the flesh of the fruit.

Was I surprised ... The very first time I ate some of the fresh Noni fruit and drank the juice it had an immediate effect on my health. The very next day, I noticed that my back pains had vanished - gone away - and stayed away, as long as I consumed Noni fruit and juice every day. I have had lower back pains for over 40 years. Chiropractors helped, but the pain still did not go away.

Guess what - the cravings I had always had for snacks, junk foods, and sweets disappeared the very next day after taking Noni. I was definitely eating too much and gaining weight. After using Noni, my weight loss problems are gone.

I know - this is all only anecdotal evidence, and not based on any scientific study involving my use of Noni - but I am convinced of the benefits of using Noni. For me - it helps tremendously in making me feel better. It has cleared up a lot of medical and health problems that previously were dogging me.

This all started about 20 years ago. The noni fruit that I have eaten for many years has helped me feel healthier, look younger, lose weight, given me youthful skin, with fewer aches and pains of old age. You might call me a "health nut" because of all the health information I am constantly digesting about alternative medicine, vitamins, supplements, minerals, antioxidants, folk medicine, herbals, and so forth.

My body is over 60 years old, but most folks think I am in my late 40's. My youthful looks are likely due to the various herbs, vitamins, and supplements, including noni, that I take every day. I have been a serious "health nut" for about 20+ years now. My studies, research, and use of herbal products have convinced me of the tremendous health value and benefits of herbs in my diet. I have seen my own health and well being improved, sometimes slowly, but always surely. Try Noni yourself - you will see positive changes in your body.

A physician trained at Johns Hopkins studied the affects of Noni on 25,000 Noni juice drinkers and found very positive effects for 29 health conditions in their lives. What can Noni do for you?

Try it for yourself, and see the changes in your body. Imagine feeling good again, looking younger, smoother and softer skin, improved digestion, fewer aches and pains, feeling healthier, lower blood pressure, cholesterol, and sugar levels, strengthen your body's natural ability to fight tumors, viral, bacterial, and parasitic infections, having more energy, feeling more alert, more energetic, and more balanced. What more could you ask for!

Research studies suggest that the compounds found in Noni may work at the cellular level in the human body to help abnormally functioning cells resume normal function and help normal cells maintain regular function.

There are several theories that may explain why Noni works so very beneficially in the body. Some believe it is a selection of polysaccharides, giving Noni fruit its beneficial effects. Other theories, based on research study findings, suggest that Noni promotes the production of nitric oxide in the body, which has been shown to strengthen the body's natural ability to fight tumors, viral, bacterial, and parasitic infections.

A more popular explanation is called the "xeronine system" developed by the forerunner in Noni research, Dr. Ralph Heinicke Ph.D. who teamed up with Dr. Neil Solomon, a medical doctor. The Heinicke-Solomon Theory explains Noni's wide range of effectiveness in the human body.

The ancient Aryan physicians of India especially valued Noni fruit because it protected the skin from becoming dry and cracked from the sun. My investigation of the published scientific literature on Morinda citrifolia yielded more than 100 articles pertaining to this medicinal Noni plant.

After I started taking Noni, I found that I was more alert, more energetic, more balanced, my skin was glowing more than I could ever recall, my hunger for junk foods was gone, and my digestion was greatly improved. I attributed the benefits of noni to the interaction of the known components along with the unknown components, which perhaps work synergistically with all the other nutrients to give me optimum health.

Researchers have reported that significant reductions in total cholesterol and triglycerides were seen in smokers who drank a product containing juice from the fruit of the noni tree every day for a month.

Here where I live in the Philippines, and elsewhere, natives use Noni for digestive problems such as diarrhea, intestinal worms, nausea, food poisoning; respiratory problems such as congestive cough, dry cough, tuberculosis, cholera, infant chest colds and sore throat; cardiovascular problems, hypertension; inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, abscesses, mastitis, gout and other inflammatory joint conditions. It is a noted analgesic or pain reliever. One of the most common uses of noni has been in the area of skin conditions, being utilized for wounds, ulcers, abscesses, ring worm, boils, cellulitis, swellings, scalp conditions, including lice, and sores. It has been used in the treatment of tumors and broken bones, jaundice and other forms of liver disease, as well as treating asthma and dysentery, hypercholesterolemia, menstrual cramps, gastric ulcers and diabetes. <bio>John is the owner of http://www.Noni-Morinda-Citrifolia.com, the Number One source for Noni Information.
Every year there are more and more cases of people going into depression and other psychological ailments. And a majority of these are people who have low self esteem, this could be due to various reasons. Anything from being unhappy in a relationship, being overweight to being bogged down by acne. Yes, you heard it right. People get affected deep because of the plaguing problems caused by acne and other such boils. If they discover these little zits on their face, they feel their life has ended, or they cannot go out and face the world. Looks and appearances are given so much importance that humans fail to realize there is more to a person than looks. A person might be beautiful but not brainy at all, and vice versa. External appearances have no connection with a person's personality, but unfortunately school children don't think of all these before teasing someone.

A girl or boy upon spotting a zit will want the world to open and gobble them up, or hide somewhere till the pimple goes away. And if the day is very important, like being prom night or they have a big date, they wish they could disappear rather than face their date with the ugly thing on their face. Little do these teenagers understand that it is ok to have a pimple or two, it does make them a bad person, nor will it take away their friends. It is however very sad to watch some of them go through trauma over acne. Some kids go to the extent of hating themselves and don't like to look at the mirror and get angry, irritable and annoyed over nothing. These are all ideal symptoms of depression over something. Parents need to be understanding and help their children go through the phase by letting them know it is not the end of the world.

High expectation from parents, peer pressure are all factors that drives a person to get stressed out and fall ill. They tend to have panic attacks if they feel they are less than perfect, for to them it might mean having to take abuses from their over expecting parents. Acnes are boils that erupt on the skin's outer layer as a result of all this stress. The body cannot take it anymore and it explodes, almost like a volcano with bubbling lava that just erupts one day out of the blue. Every year millions of dollars are spent in research to find that perfect cure for acne and cysts, but there are millions of people around the world who are going through a time as we speak. Even though these zits have no major implications on a person's health, they seem to cause severe emotional issues where in the person withdraws and goes into a shell. To help them overcome this, parents and friends must encourage them to come out more, not shy away and let them know they are as pretty as they were earlier. <bio>Author is the webmaster of http://www.10acne.com and http://www.10acnetreatments.com. </bio>

To many people the thought of installing a new outdoor faucet or doing any plumbing work seems daunting but actually small plumbing jobs like installing a new faucet are very simple and with a little practice you can solder copper pipe just like the professionals. As a rule you can use either copper or plastic pvc pipe for your new outdoor faucet for your hot tub you may want to check with your local building department to find out about getting any permits and check on any restrictions.

If you live in an area that encounters freezing weather you may want to consider a frost free faucet, you could also install a faucet with a built in drain with this option however you will need to remember to drain the faucet every fall. The first free faucet is maintain free as the actual part that shuts of the water is inside the house so there is no water in an area that is susceptible to freezing.

The next step is to determine the location you want the new faucet. Once that has been determined mark the spot and go to your basement or crawl space and look to see if that location is clear and free from interference from any other components. Next locate you water supply you may be able to tap into an existing line or you may have to run a new line. Weather you use copper or PVC you need to keep your runs straight and make sure you support the new pipe properly.

When using PVC be sure to use the primer prior to gluing the primer is usually purple this allows you to easily tell if you have put the primer on, be sure to make you connections nice and straight. When using copper pipe you will need to solder your joints this may seem like a daunting task it is really quite easy you will need a copper pipe cleaner this is a special wire brush that will clean the inside of the fitting and the outside of the pipe. Having the copper clean and dry is the most important factor in soldering copper. A good flux and solder for copper pipes and a propane torch. Clean the fittings and pipe apply flux, use your propane or nap gas torch to heat up the connection the flux will bubble as it boils and cleans the copper after the flux boils the copper should be hot enough to melt the solder apply the solder around the fitting the solder will be sucked into the joint remove heat and use a damp rag to clean up the excess solder. When you solder the faucet on be sure to open the valve or take it apart so you do not overheat the rubber washers in the valve. <bio>Chad Milhouse wrote this article for http://www.a1hottub.com </bio>

Salivary cysts look like large blisters that occur under the tongue. If your dog has periodontal disease then the cement that holds his teeth in place gets destroyed. Tongue wounds can occur from self infliction or by getting info fights with dogs.

What to do: If your dog's drooling is the result of salivary cysts, then they will be need to be drained by your veterinarian. The damaged saliva gland must be removed as well. If your dog is suffering from periodontal disease then his teeth will have to be removed if the problem has persisted to the point of loosened teeth. Bites and burns will also need the veterinarian's attention. And it may be too painful for your dog to eat under these circumstances, so be sure to feed him small soft pieces of food.

Reluctance to Chewing

Some dogs develop certain mouth and tooth problems which keeps them from wanting to chew or bite down all of the way. This can be a result of a tooth cavity, a tooth root abscess, a fractured tooth, or distemper teeth. Large cavities are visible as damage to the tooth enamel and often occur at the gum margin. Root abscesses may be a bit difficult to see. The molars are the teeth that most commonly fracture. And your dog may have contracted the distemper virus as a puppy, which causes his teeth to look eroded as the dog grows up to be an adult.

What to do: Most of the time the best practical thing for your veterinarian to do is to remove the tooth that is causing your dog's pain. Routine tooth decay can be treated with fillings. If your dog is suffering from abscesses and/or fractures then this will require root canal work. And lastly, if there is tooth damage from the distemper virus, those teeth that are damaged will have to be removed by your vet, because distemper damage is permanent and cannot be reversed.

Misaligned Bite

Many dogs have an undershot jaw or an overshot jaw. When looking at your dog's mouth, the upper and lower teeth should mesh perfectly when he closes his mouth. Breeds such as the Pekingese and Bulldog tend to have an undershot bite, while Doberman and Collies tend to show an overshot bite.

What to do: Fortunately for your dog, no action is typically necessary unless the bite misalignment is causing your dog discomfort. Discomfort is most likely to occur with overshot jaws as opposed to undershot ones. Your vet can fit a removable tool over the upper front teeth and hard palate, which will help aid the dog's bit to move to a more comfortable position.

In order to keep health problems in your dog from getting serious, you need to detect them early. Sometimes just watching your pet and catching abnormal behavior can tell you that there is something wrong, even before the actual signs start to appear. Therefore, it is necessary to give your dog a basic check-up about once a week. This check-up takes no more than a few minutes, and it can help prevent problems as well as expenses down the road.

Start with a body rub. This makes your pet comfortable. While giving him his rub, check for any signs of flaking or scabs which can be a sign of parasites, a skin disorder, or allergies.

Also check for any lumps and bumps. Although they are a normal part of aging in dogs, they can also be a symptom that there is something wrong. Check for any swelling that could indicate parasites, heart trouble, or cancer.

His breathing should be smooth and quiet, unless he is panting.

If his breathing is raspy or rattling, he could have a respiratory problem.

Your dog's heartbeat should be regular and strong. To check for his pulse, place your hand against his chest by his left elbow. Count the number of beats in 15 seconds and multiply it by four. The rate should range between 60 and 160.

Examine his ears, eyes, and mouth and check for any signs of abnormalities. <bio>John Mailer has written many articles about dogs and puppies and how to train them. His main business is as an internet marketer. http://www.basicsdogtraining.com/petgrooming.html http://www.basicsdogtraining.com/dognutrition.html http://www.howtostartonlinehomebusiness.com </bio>

Toothache is quite a common problem throughout the world and it isone that is very unpleasant for those who experience it, toothache can have quite a dramatic affect on a persons life because of how irritating it is, painful and limiting. Many people find themselves going through the experience of toothache and they often wander "How did this happen to me?", well, I am going to tell you some of the causes of toothache in this article and hopefully you will have a better understanding of how it occurs.

The Cause Of Toothache

There is not just one cause of toothache, there are quite a few of them, here are some of them:

A cracked tooth - This is exactly as it sounds, having a cracked, broken or fractured tooth and it usually occurs when there is some sort of strike against the tooth or there is too much pressure put on the tooth, this may be because you have been struck with a hard object, you bite down on hard objects, you chew excessively and this can lead to extreme pains in the tooth.

Gum disease - This is causes by a build up of plaque which will then irritate the gums, what usually happens is the gums start to recede and therefore expose more of the tooth than should be, this can sometimes cause teeth to become loose and your gums may even bleed when you brush your teeth, if untreated this can lead to gum abscesses.

Dental decay - This is a result of a cavity in the tooth and is actually very common throughout the world, bacteria accumulates on the teeth and will begin to dissolve the structure of your teeth, if left untreated it can go much further and can actually reach the nerve and blood vessels in the centre of the tooth, this can cause infection.

These are some of the causes of toothache that you should be aware of, if you do experience toothache then you should first of all make an appointment with your dentist as soon as possible and make sure you go to that appointment, while you are waiting to see the dentist you can use home remedies to ease the unbearable pain of toothache because it really can be unbelievably painful.

You should see your dentist regularly anyway to make sure that everything is in order and if not, you can do what is needed to treat it.

Toothache is one of the worst experiences, in my opinion, that a person can go through, it is very painful and very frustrating, however, you can do things to relieve the pain and help to make things easier for yourself.

I hope you found this article helpful and I hope you can solve any dental problems you may have and prevent them from coming back again, good luck. <bio>Discover The Simple Home Remedies You Can Use To Ease The Unbearable Pain Of Toothache: http://www.toothachepainremedy.com/ Don't Let Toothache Get You Down, Fight Back Today! </bio>

Chamomile is known worldwide to be a calming sleep aid, a remedy to ease an upset stomach, and for its wonderful anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmolytic properties. There are, however, many types of chamomile: Roman chamomile, Anthemis nobilis; German chamomile, Matricaria recutita; true Moroccan chamomile, Tanacetum annuum. Beyond these three basic types, German chamomile can also be called Hungarian or blue chamomile, while another species of chamomile called Moroccan is actually a different variety (Ormensis multicaulis) that is grown in Morocco. Ormensis multicaulis does not have the ink-blue color of the true Moroccan chamomile that is Tanacetum annuum, also called blue tansy. Each chamomile is a different variety, however they all have similar constituents as well as some likenesses in appearance.

Roman chamomile is mainly grown in England, and there are some areas in continental Europe and the United States that also distill the oil. In 1785, Carlo Allioni, an Italian botanist, placed what we know as Roman chamomile in the genus Chamaemelum, naming Anthemis nobilis as Chamaemelum nobile, thus furthering the confusion about chamomiles.

German chamomile is what most botanists and herbalists refer to as chamomile. German chamomile grows wild mostly in Germany, however what is known as blue or German chamomile has for the past 10 years or so been mainly distilled in Hungary, yet it retains the name German chamomile.

Moroccan chamomile is a member of the Tansy botanical family and is like German chamomile due to the fact that they both produce a deep, ink-blue color when in the form of an essential oil. Out of the two varieties, Moroccan chamomile has the highest levels of chamazulene; however there are some chamomiles that have the name Moroccan Chamomile that are not blue in color. They are appelled Moroccan chamomile because they are a variety of chamomile that is grown in Morocco. True Tanacetum annuum is blue and contains the highest levels of chamazulene; however, there is some concern with Tanacetum annum, also called blue tansy oil. Tansy oil has been purported to have some toxicity and should not be used directly on the skin. On the other hand, there are aromatherapists who rave about the wonderful effects of Tanacetum annuum. Research on Tanacetum annuum's constituents and general actions is incomplete and there is not enough clinical data recorded to make any conclusions about safety or effectiveness.

Chamazulene is the constituent in both German and Moroccan chamomiles that makes them blue and gives them strong anti-inflammatory qualities. Chamazulene does not show up as a constituent of German Chamomile until the distillation process because chamazulene is bound with glycoside Matricine, which is a sugar molecule that becomes hydrolysed due to the pressure and heat of the steam distillation process of extracting the essential oil. The volatile azulenes become unbound and alpha-bisabolol and chamazulene are then freed and show as newly present constituents of chamomile oil.

German and Moroccan Chamomile are recognized for their anti-inflammatory properties and have been know to help cure and treat allergies, dermatitis, eczema, inflamed joints, muscles, neuralgia, skin rashes and sprains. German Chamomile is what is typically chosen to make chamomile tea and is an excellent natural anti-histamine for reactions such as hay fever, asthma and hives. Caveat emptor--if German chamomile is brown in color, it was over-heated during distillation and has lost the chamazulene-rich, blue color, diminishing its healing and anti-inflammatory properties.

Roman chamomile also possesses anti-inflammatory properties; however, it is better known for its analgesic and sedative properties. Roman chamomile is very mild and has shown to be safe when using it for children, especially children with nervous sleep patterns or insomnia. Other than the sedative properties in Roman chamomile, it is highly anti-spasmolytic. For example, Roman chamomile can stabilize severe asthma attacks until emergency treatment is available. Roman chamomile is also known for being useful in the treatment of anxiety, arthritis, anxious temperaments, muscular aches and pains, rheumatism, PMS and other menstrual conditions, stress, sleeplessness, and nervous tension.

With all of the differences of the chamomiles, they also share similarities. For example, some of the chamomiles are more effective for insomnia than other chamomiles, but they can all be used to treat insomnia. While Roman chamomile would be preferred for treatment of insomnia, all chamomiles have some effectiveness in the treatment of acne, allergies, baldness and hair care, boils, abscesses, blisters, cuts/sores, dermatitis, dry and sensitive skin, eczema, insect bites, irritated and inflamed skin, rashes, toothaches, teething pain, wounds, arthritis, rheumatism, sprains, strains, colic, flatulence, indigestion, nausea, vomiting, cystitis, dysmenorrheal, premenstrual tension/PMT, headache, insomnia, nervous tension, stress-related conditions, neuralgia, and sciatica.

To explore the benefits of Roman or German chamomile, or for more specific information on which chamomile is preferred for specific ailments, refer to our online therapeutic references or product profiles. Roman and German chamomile are gentle, non-sensitizing, non-irritant, and non-phototoxic essential oils. Each chemo-type has its benefits and applications. Chamomile has a sweet, herbaceous, sometimes fruity, scent. It is delicate, neutral and can be used in a diffuser, by placing a couple drops on a pillow, in the bath, or mixed into a non-scented massage oil or lotion to add a light, clean, and therapeutically-benefiting scent. <bio>Florapathics researches the alternative health benefits of essential oils and herbal extracts for use in organic aromatherapy products.
When it comes to monetization on the Internet there are a wealth of theories, ideas, tips and techniques to get the cash flowing and the money rolling. Monetization, in a nutshell, refers to taking your virtual real estate including your websites, email lists, membership sites and article directories and transforming them into cash magnets. If you have a website that is returning more than you are paying out on a monthly basis, you know that you are doing the right thing when it comes to website monetization. When your money invested exceeds that of your profit, then you are in the red and your monetization strategy is not working.

What this all boils down to is that on the Internet, there are ways to turn virtual assets into cold, hard cash. If you are not making money from your online efforts, then you are following the path of those who have failed before you and your Internet marketing efforts will become wasted.

So, knowing this, how do you prevent this dismal outcome?

Internet assets include anything virtual: newsletters, email lists, information products, auto responders, e-books, videos, original and private label articles - essentially anything that you can sell online.

Most people would agree that if one is doing something but does not get the desired results, then continuously doing it would be pointless. With that in mind, we need to look towards changing what does not work to converting potential dollars to actual sales:

- Freebies: Consider turning your non-purchasing website visitors into buying customers who cannot wait to get their hands on your product or service. Offer an e-book or membership site with a 30 day free trial or guarantee if your prospect is indecisive. Free trials and money-back guarantees work for people sitting on the fence because they are only "trying it" and can get their money back if unsatisfied.

- Include links to other products or affiliate links beyond the main link and sales page. That way, if they are not interested in what you are offering, there is still a chance that they will be interested in something else offered in a link on a different page. You will not know what people are thinking, so giving a few more choices may covert into more sales for you.

- Make your landing pages compelling and provide a one-time offer (called an OTO) to subscribers of your newsletter. Offer it after they sign up and visit your confirmation or thank-you page.

- When you are using private label rights articles, re-create and repackage them into a report, mini-report or an e-book and brand it with your name and site name. In this way, you can offer an affiliate program, get joint venture partners with large hit lists and promote your materials in a different form.

These are just some of the ideas that you can use to improve your sales conversion rate. There are an abundance of techniques, tips and theories out there to make more money for you. What it really boils down to is thinking out of the box. Take something old, repackage it and make it new again. In this way, you will create another stream of income and revitalize the income streams that you already have going for you.<bio>Pieter van der Gulik is an authority on Web Traffic Sales Conversion providing valuable advice at http://www.ReturnOnTraffic.com where you can learn more about Internet Web Site Marketing. Click Here to gain access to FREE Online Marketing Success software and his FREE landing page optimization whitepaper.</bio>

People were talking about it as if it the Black plague had come back again. Standing for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, MRSA is a mean bacteria that can do a lot more damage to the body because of how resistant it is to so many different types of bacteria. Unlike a normal Staph infection that can be treated with a regimen of antibiotics, MRSA is immune to so many of them.

The symptoms of a breakout of MRSA (or any Staph infection) for that matter starts with simple bumps that appear to be little red pimples. Unfortunately, these can quickly turn into painful, deep abscesses that can only be treated with surgery. That happens if the bacterium stays on the surface of the body. If it gets into the body, it can do tremendous damage to bones, joints, the bloodstream, lungs, and the heart valves. As can be seen, a Staph infection is very serious.

Because of that, it makes perfect sense why people were so petrified of MRSA. In the hospital setting, there is one antibiotic that doctors are known to prescribe called vancomycin. This antibiotic is known for treating resistant germs and is lethal against MRSA. Once again, though, doctors are finding that there are new strains of MRSA popping up that are resistant to vancomycin. Doctors now are treating it by not even administering an antibiotic, but instead, draining abscess caused by the MRSA. If they can drain it, perhaps the MRSA will go away.

The simple truth, though, is that while treating MRSA might seem like the best thing you can do, the reality is: prevention is key. If you can prevent the spread of MRSA rather than worry about it only after you have it, it won't spread. The trick to preventing the spread of MRSA are the following tips:

• Wear gloves when dealing with a patient that is a potential carrier of MRSA.

• Wash your hands before and after dealing with any patient in case you have MRSA on your hands.

• Wash your own hands often, even if you're not in the medical field. Proper hygiene can definitely help prevent against it.

These are just three techniques that people suggest will help lessen the amount of cases of MRSA. Because of its severity, people need to do everything they can to try and limit its spread. It is life-threatening if not dealt with appropriately and people have and can die from it. But, if people take proper care in preventing against it, they have nothing to worry about. Until then, though, scientists will continue creating new antibiotics to try and counter this resistant bug.<bio>Jacob is a biology major with aspirations to get his PhD in virology and become a professor.
What does it take to have a great RC car race? I give you one word =96 practice. Of course, there are other factors (such as equipment, overall set up) which contribute to a racer's victory or loss but it all boils down to a good practice run.

Go ahead and check other reading materials focused on RC related topics. You'd realize that practice does make a difference to how your RC car performs during the actual competition.

When you get to the venue, you can start practicing (that is if you have already signed up for the registration) on the track. Don't get too excited though, your first practice run should be all about getting the feeling of the track, familiarizing it which means there's no need to go running on top speed just yet. Learn how the track is laid out and master it if you can. Also, during this time, use an old and worn battery pack since running the track for the first time isn't going to be pleasing at all.

On your next run, focus on your car and how you can best handle it. During your second run, try to see or feel anything that you think isn't going to work out for you on the actual race. If everything seems to work okay don't change any of your settings. After completing this run, you're ready to go on your last and final run for practice. This time though, you need to shift your focus from all the other elements on the track to just your car and nothing else.

You have to realize that by this time, you can make any last adjustments you desire but then, don't attempt in doing so if you're not comfortable with it. To make sure that your settings is going to work accordingly, try to setup your car to the nearest setup ideal for the track. Though you may not set it up accurately, (since there's no such thing as perfect) you'd at least get it working efficiently on the track during the race. <bio>Don't get on the tracks just yet without reading valuable information from http://racing-radio-controlled-cars.com </bio>

People have been using herbs to fight infection since time immemorial, although it was not until Linus Pauling's 1970 book promoted the view that adults should take 1g of vitamin C a day to avoid the common cold that vitamin supplements were used to fight specific ailments. The book created a storm when published and was responsible far a massive increase in sales of vitamin C supplements.

This view has since been disputed by many medical people, but Joe Public still uses vitamin C supplements to ward off a cold and treat one. The majority believe that the supplement is effective, so perhaps more work is needed on this use for the vitamin. What is known is that vitamin C is a very strong antioxidant, and large doses of it can only help the body to fight the ravages of free radicals.

Today, the use of herbal remedies and vitamins to fight infections is commonplace, and the science behind their use is much better understood. Take vitamins for instance. Vitamin C, again, although promoted to avoid the common cold, is not only a strong antioxidant as previously stressed, but also has antiviral properties and is though to be useful in the prevention of viral infections. It is a very versatile vitamin, and a widely used one.

Vitamin A, and its relatives the carotenoids, are important parts of the immune system that help mucous membranes resist microbiological attack. There is generally sufficient vitamin A in a normal diet, however, so that supplementation is rarely needed, and can even have an adverse effect, especially with young children. It is primarily in developing countries that vitamin A supplements are most commonly needed, and the vitamin has been found to reduce the mortality rate through measles infections.

It is recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics that children with measles should be initially be given a high dose of vitamin A, even in developed countries, but otherwise such a supplement is rarely recommended for children. The two big killers in Third World countries are measles and pneumonia, but unfortunately vitamin A does not appear to have an effect on pneumonia. It is still a huge killer disease.

Vitamin D, long considered the Cinderella of the vitamin world, is now believed to be effective in fighting TB, influenza and HIV as well as colon cancer and the bone problems it has long been associated with. The problem with this vitamin is that it is not found in many foods, and relies on sunlight for its synthesis in the body. Recent studies have found it to clearly be associated with the immune system, to help to regulate the growth of body cells and to play an active part in the human metabolism. The argument for a vitamin D supplement, long been regarded as unnecessary, has suddenly been turned on its head. Vitamin D is now one of the chief vitamins and is under very extensive ongoing study.

Vitamin E is a strong antioxidant that has recently been found to reduce the incidence of colds and upper respiratory tract infections in older people by strengthening the body cells. Although a vitamin E supplement has hitherto been regarded as unnecessary, it now being seen as an advantage, especially in the elderly, and it also strengthens cells. Sales of vitamin E are now increasing, perhaps due to the general increase in life expectancy in the western world.

Folic acid is another vitamin that has recently found favor, and is known to protect developing fetuses from spina bifida and other neural tube defects. It is known to prevent the formation of diseases in unborn children, and a deficiency can cause a number of mental diseases including schizophrenia. In spite of this, it is still the most common vitamin deficiency in the world, and folic acid supplements are highly recommended, especially to women of childbearing age, and to pregnant women.

In addition to vitamins, many herbs have specific properties that make them ideal for fighting infections and disease. In fact there is currently an explosion in the scientific study of the medical basis for this use of many herbs. One of the most frequently used is liquorice, and the scientific basis for the use of this plant in medicine has been proved and accepted beyond doubt.

Liquorice root is still one of the most used and most important herbs in Chinese medicine, and is used extensively for urinary and digestive tract problems. It has a very wide range of uses, including the treatment of TB and diabetes as well as the more mundane coughs and sore throats.

Garlic has strong antibiotic properties, and in addition to warding off vampires the herb can be used to fight a wide variety of bacterial infections. The complex polysaccharides found in the herb astragalus boost the immune system, and astragalus is very useful in the event of bacterial infections. A supplement can be used for a number of different infections. The same is true of echinacea, native to North America, and whose proven applications are for sore throats and the common cold. A lot of nonsense has been written about echinacea, but these uses are proven.

Another application for echinacea and garlic is in the treatment of infections such as abscesses and boils. An aloe vera poultice is also effective in drawing and soothing an abscess. Bilberry can also be used for such infections. If the boil or abscess is large, an application of vitamin E oil can help to reduce the scarring. Vitamin E is excellent for the skin, and it aids healing by preventing infection.

If you have a urinary infection, dandelion is an excellent treatment. It is also a diuretic, and gives your whole water works a great clean out. It is also a useful herbal treatment for hepatitis, and the milk from the stems is a good cure for warts. Apply it thrice daily until the wart disappears. You can make a dandelion tea by infusing the leaves or the roots.

The majority of modern medical investigation into the uses of vitamins and herbs in fighting infections is spent on ratifying beliefs, and determining the scientific basis for them. It is doubtful if new uses for herbs are being researched, but what is undoubtedly being done is work on the synthesis of the active ingredients. The cost of herbal remedies could then perhaps be reduced. <bio>Suggested resource: Herbs and vitamins are widely used in treating infection, and more information on those highlighted can be obtained from the website http://vitanetonline.com where a wide range is offered and discussed. </bio>

For thousands of years the Chinese people have known of the benefit of garlic to their health. So in China garlic apart from being used to flavor food is also traditionally used in teas and folk remedies.

The reason for using garlic is that it is one of nature's strongest immune system boosters as well as being a powerful antibiotic and helps the digestive system and increase a person's libido.

Below are provided a number of reasons as to what the benefits of garlic are. But whilst the health and medicinal benefits of garlic are numerous they can also overheat a persons system if they eat too much of it. According to traditional Chinese dietary therapy the garlic is warm in nature as well as being a strong stimulant. So people who suffer from excess heat in their body should first balance their system. This causes such symptoms as red eyes, bad breath, constipation, yellow urine, yellow tongue moss and acne. So if you have any of these symptoms and which to either eliminate or greatly reduce then do not have so much hot food and drinks (meat, fried foods, coffee and alcohol) from your diet before you start eating garlic on a regular basis or you will only make the symptoms worse.

Below are provided a list of the health and medicinal benefits of taking garlic.

1. It is great for enhancing a persons immune system 2. It contains great anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties 3. Also contains anti-fungal properties which are especially effective for treating yeast infections and Candida 4. Can clear boils and infected sores 5. Improves a persons appetite 6. Will aid a persons digestive system (but you must eat several raw cloves a day) 7. Will expel intestinal parasites and worms from the body 8. Can reduce high cholesterol levels

Now we will look at some ways of using garlic as the main ingredient and how the Chinese people make use of the health benefits of garlic.

Garlic Tea

In a pot place 1 or 2 cloves of crushed garlic, 1 or 2 grams of loose leaf green tea and if you want add 1 or 2 teaspoons of unrefined sugar to the mix. Then pour on boiling water and allow it to cool slightly. Next stir the mixture and let it steep for several minutes before you drink it. Then leave the ingredients in the pot and top it up with more water throughout the day. This helps to kill germs and remove toxins from the body.

Garlic Nose Drops

Crush several cloves of garlic to get the juice. Add to warm water (2 parts water to 1 part garlic juice). Now lie down and using an eye dropper place a couple of drops of the mixture into each nostril as soon as you feel any symptoms appearing. Continue using for as long as necessary. However if the drops irritate your nostrils then stop or reduce the number of drops taken.

This a good preventative method for the common cold and people who suffer from sinus problems.

Garlic Paste

Crush 2 cloves of garlic and mix with several drops of pure sesame oil until it forms a paste. Externally apply to boils, carbuncles and infected sores. Cover the area where paste has been applied and reapply when the paste becomes dry and falls off. Should your skin become overly irritated then discontinue use of the past and try again in a day or two.

In order that you can get the full health benefit of garlic having it in salads or as a tea or in capsule form. It is important that you eat less refined, processed and canned foods as use more foods in a more natural state as possible. <bio>Lee Dobbins writes for http://www.herbs-home-remedies.com where you can learn more about natural remedies and the http://www.herbs-home-remedies.com/aarch0107/garlicandhighbloodpressure.htm= l </bio>

The horseshoe is a wonderful invention. It protects your horse's feet by putting a half inch of steel between his delicate hoof and the hard ground.

The problem with horseshoes is they only encircle the perimeter of the hoof, leaving the inner portion of exposed. So if your horse steps on a sharp object, he could easily damage his foot. If left untreated, your horse could go lame. And unrideable. To avoid this problem, here are some things you should do...

You need to check your horse's hooves after every ride. And one of the things you want to check for is a bruised sole.

Bruised soles are a common cause of lameness in horses. 9 times out of 10, a sharp stone is the culprit. Remember, your horse probably weighs around 1/2 a ton, so when he puts his full body weight on a sharp object he can't see, the result isn't pretty.

So if you've just finished your trail ride and find your horse has a bruised hoof, what do you do?

First, you need to assess how serious the bruise is. If your horse can support his own weight and yours too without flinching, it's probably nothing to worry about. But if your horse is noticeably gimpy, even without you on his back, you need to do a little triage and figure out how bad the injury really is.

If the bruise is in your horse's heel, it may just be a corn (yes, horses get corns too). If this is the case, your farrier will try to cut the corn out. Depending on how painful the area is for your horse, the farrier might make a special horseshoe called a heart bar horseshoe.

This special shoe is made to support the coffin bone by placing a metal tongue under the frog. And If your horse is naturally thin-soled, he may even install a leather pad under the shoe. Heart bar horseshoes work very well. I've seen this kind of shoe relieve a horse's corn pain very effectively.

But if your horse doesn't have any corns, yet he's still displays signs of being in pain, the problem may be a bit more serious. Your farrier will probably want to remove the steel shoe and give your horse a more thorough examination.

Expect the farrier to touch your horse's hooves to see if they feel abnormally hot. If they are, it usually means your horse has an abscess - an infection of the hoof. If this is the case, either he or an equine veterinarian may treat the hoof abscess by paring it out and then poulticing it.

Now, having said that, I've worked with some farriers who sometimes choose to let the abscess grow out to a point where he can just cut it off or filed off. I always take the farrier's advice when it comes to abscesses - they've seen more hooves than I'll ever see!

I'll cover paring and poulticing soon. But for now, what I want you to take away from this tip is hoof injuries are not to be taken lightly.

You'll be able to tell if your horse was "off" during your ride. If so, spend a little extra time examining his hooves as you pick and clean them. If they're bruised or feel hot, it's time to call in your farrier for some professional advice.

That's all for now.

Yours for Better Horse Health

Sierra Lynch <bio>Sierra Lynch makes it easy to keep your horse healthy and happy. Taking a class for a Spanish language compared to learning it on your own at home may have slight differences but it all boils down to one thing =96 your interest in learning the language.

People think that paying for an expensive course online or offline is going to make them better in learning and eventually, speaking the Spanish language. This is a false belief since any person can acquire the Spanish language no matter how or where it has been learned. Although there is really no better match to learning a Spanish language or any other foreign language for that matter, than immersing yourself to the concerned country. And yes, this way, you will have to spend money and other necessary expenses to be able to finish a proper language immersion.

No, this isn't an article against immersion and its costly means, this is an article for those individuals who think that learning a proper Spanish language online for free or that which requires very small money isn't possible. If you haven't been used to the internet and all the wonders it can do to all types of people who have different needs of their own, then better get used to being in the cyber world.

The point here is that, you can spend so much money on one language material and not be able to speak fluently or even slightly better than those who have just started using the Spanish language because of the lack of interest and will to learn.

It's your choice, honestly. When you know you can learn and do something good, I say, you go ahead and do it. You will then realize that, no matter how old a person is, learning isn't impossible at all. Even for someone who hasn't had the chance to speak Spanish. <bio>Shareen Aguilar is a writer for Learn Spanish Program http://learn-spanish-program.com which has Memory Improvement Books and Memory Game Software for better Spanish language memorization. </bio>

You've heard it time and again. "Don't forget to pick out your horse's feet." But why is this so terribly important?

It is easy to assume that if you picked your horse's feet out before you rode that they would be fine when you are done. Or to feel that since you horse has been inside all night that there couldn't possibly be anything wrong with his feet that needs cleaning. Unfortunately, neglect of hoof cleaning can lead to many problems in the long run.

The obvious reason for cleaning feet is to remove dirt. But many people don't understand why it is so important to remove that dirt in the first place. After all, wild horses don't get their feet picked out.

A barefoot horse tends to loose the dirt from its feet fairly easily. While it may pack in there, it will fall out over time from the impact of the feet on hard surfaces. Often a barefoot horse will have clean feet when you go to pick them out, which is what you prefer to find in a healthy horse.

With shoes, the dirt is packed into the foot and held in place by the unnatural confines of the shoe itself. Often the dirt remains packed in the foot for days at a time, not allowing the hoof to breathe properly. The dirt can also harbor dangerous foreign bodies such as sharp rocks.

Whether your horse is shod or barefoot, it is essential to pick out the feet and remove any rocks or other potentially harmful foreign bodies. Horses' feet can bruise easily, particularly around the frog. Bruises often lead to abscesses, which can cause a horse to be seriously lame for weeks at a time.

Another risk that many have heard of, but few fully understand is thrush. Thrush is an infection of the hoof caused by a fungus that grows in the dark, damp confines of the hoof. Horses with deep grooves beside the frog and a groove in the heel are more prone to thrush than the average animal. Some horses seem to have a particularly weak immunology against thrush and will get it no matter how regularly you clean their feet.

To prevent thrush it is essential that the hooves get cleaned one a regular basis. Horses who stand in stalls much of the day have a higher risk of thrush due to the moist bedding that gets lodged in their hooves.

Thrush has a distinct smell that clings to the fingers and hoofpick after cleaning the feet. If you notice any strong odor from your horse's feet, it would be smart to treat for thrush as a preventative. There are many products available to treat thrush. Ask your vet or farrier for the product(s) with which they have had the most success.

If you take good care of your horse's feet, you will ensure that he will remain sound and healthy for your riding enjoyment.<bio>Lydia K Kelly is a writer for HorseClicks, classifieds of horses for sale Massachusetts, horses for sale Michigan, horses for sale Minnesota and other states.
Diabetes is a condition in which the concentration of glucose in the bloodstream is chronically higher than normal. Diabetics are two to four times more likely than non-diabetics to die from stroke or heart disease. Diabetes may also lead to blindness, kidney disease, nerve disease, amputation, and impotence. It is responsible for over 180,000 deaths each year.

Diabetes causes rampant damage to the arteries and veins due to an accumulation of glucose in the blood. This accumulation sets an enzyme called PKC into overdrive. In addition to giving signals to the genes and causing cells to grow and divide fast, PKC also starts a chain reaction that reduces the elasticity of the veins and arteries. The consequently hardened arteries are very prone to breaking. Blockage of these arteries results in reduced blood flow to vital organs which could lead to conditions such as gangrene and blindness. Blockage of larger arteries leads to heart disease and stroke.

The complications of diabetes from heart disease and stroke to diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, and damage of the nerves, have all been linked in some way to the formation of free radicals. Studies show that omega three and omega six fatty acids neutralize free radicals, and provide the additional nutrition so desperately needed by diabetics. One way of obtaining these required nutrients is to harness the power of nature and nourish the body with medicinal plants.

The Purslane Herb

Purslane, or portulaca as it is also known, is an herbaceous garden weed with fleshy succulent leaves. Purslane is one of the richest sources of fatty acids known in nature. It is also full of nutrients that can help manage diabetes. The main components of Purslane are tocopherals which are known to be strong antioxidants. It also contains vitamins C, A and E and minerals such as phosphorus, zinc, calcium, magnesium, manganese, silicon and phosphorus. A regular intake of Purslane in the form of salads should be an integral part in the management of diabetes.

Purslane is also an anti-inflammatory, demulcent, antibiotic, and anti-parasitic. It is regularly used in cosmetology due to its soothing properties. This property of Purslane can also be utilized in the treatment of the skin conditions, such as boils and sores, associated with diabetes.

Purslane is also used internally to deal with the symptoms of toxic dysentery, boils, sores, vaginal discharges, and urinary tract infections.

Essential oils and diabetes

Although essential oils cannot claim to cure diabetes, they can be used to reduce the side effects of diabetes related ailments such as ulcers, loss of skin integrity, and skin infections. The use of essential oils can reduce inflammation, encourage cell regeneration, and eliminate infection.

Some of the common essential oils that may be used are Palma Rosa, Rosemary, Juniper, Lavender, Tea-tree, and Peppermint.

Essential oils can also alleviate the stress of coping with a chronic condition such as diabetes and ease the burden of living with such a debilitating disease. Aromatherapy is a known antidote for relieving stress. Some of the essential oils that can be used for reducing stress are lavender, Ylang Ylang, Sandalwood, Lemon, Bergamot, Neroli and Germanium. <bio>Sharon Hopkins regularly features articles in http://www.home-remedies-for-you.com and http://www.aromatherapies.net. This article speaks about the role of Herbs and Essential Oils in Diabetes Management with specific reference to the Purslane Herb.
