After watching the movie War of the Worlds staring Tom Cruise last weekend I was inspired to do some research on the original H.G. Wells novel. I almost bought a copy of the book, I did read it once as a child, but I hesitated. Instead I downloaded The War of The Worlds BBC broadcast based on the novel by H.G. Wells as an audiobook off of the Internet.

It was very easy to do. I simply paid with my visa card and was able to do an instant download. I did not have to wait for CD's to come in the mail. After downloading the audiobook I burnt it to discs so that I could listen to it in my car as I drive.

I was also happy to see that doing an instant download of the audiobook was much cheaper then the same versions of the audiobook on CD. It really is a much better deal to download the file and burn it to disc your self then to have to pay someone else to do the same thing.

Another great feature is that I will always be able to download the audiobook again for free at any time. This is perfect if you are like me and are prone to scratching your cd's.

I have to say I was thrilled with the quality of the recording of the audiobook. The audiobooks is from the BBC Classic Sci-Fi Radio and has a run time of two hours and fifty minutes.

One of the things that I enjoyed the most of listening to War of the Worlds on audiobook compared to the movie is how much eerier it was. Watching the movie was good, don't get me wrong, but I must say that I enjoyed it as an audiobook more. The movie was real eye candy. But the audiobook invokes your imagination. The sound effects being much simpler in the audiobook, but it felt more real. It really made me feel like I was there <bio>The author of this article was able to download the War of the Worlds audiobooks at http://www.audiobookstoreportal.com and at http://www.bestscifiaudiobooks.com </bio>

I'm convinced that people of all ages love everything make believe. We are fascinated with what we are not and with what we could be. We love to be swept away into stories other than our own. We go to movies, see live plays, and read novels to keep us dreaming. Costumes are one of the key elements that escort us into make believe no matter how young or old we are.

Think about it, from the time we were little we celebrated a holiday called Halloween by shopping for or having our mothers make us the perfect costumes. Having the right costumes was the biggest deal. We got to wear them to school and show off to our teachers and friends and we got to parade around our neighborhoods and display our costumes proudly to everyone we saw. We loved to dress up as princesses, ghosts, or our favorite characters from cartoons. Putting on our prized costumes meant much more than putting on an outfit. With our costumes we put on an entirely different identity so that we didn't just dress up as a princess but we really became one. We actually became our favorite cartoon characters and our favorite good and bad guys.

The older children get, the less interested they are in celebrating Halloween with great costumes, but they love make believe just as much. Teens and adults get our fill of make believe through television, movies, plays and even books. Costumes are an important part of each of these avenues of imagination.

When reading a novel we picture the costumes and clothing that each character wears. We begin to identify certain characters by the costumes we clothe them in. We go to a film or a play and are fascinated with the costumes that allow each actor or actress to become the character they are playing. Great costumes and great acting allow us to forget that the eighty year old grandma we're watching is actually are favorite thirty-five year old actor with a weird dress and a whole lot of makeup.

If you have ever seen a live play then you know the vital role that costumes play in making any production what it is. Can you imagine seeing the Lion King on Broadway without any costumes? Of course not! How would you know what actors are supposed to be which animal or how would you tell the difference between the young and old lions? It is the use of amazing, detailed, colorful costumes that allow live shows to transport us into other worlds.

Costumes of all kinds are magical. Whether we are three or eighty three, we love dressing up and watching others dress up. We love seeing our worlds expanded into new worlds filled with the make believe or magical worlds. <bio>As a part-time author and a part-time actor, Kirstine Pallette has been experiencing the magic of costumes for a long time. Check out http://www.costumehub.info to experience more of the magic for yourself. </bio>

How would you feel if you go on board with the worlds largest ship? In history, there is no single ship which was built that can be compared to the enormous size of the Freedom Ship. Come to picture the 25-story buildings you see in New York floating on the deep wide sea! It measures 4,320 feet long with a width of 725 feet and 340 feet tall. But wait, it does not just float on water but it can navigate the world too! Definitely, it can dwarf any ship that is operating these days since it is four times bigger than the usual ships.

It is created through the use of 520 airtight steels that are bolted with one another to create tough bases. Each particular cell will measure 80 feet tall. Norman Nixon which is the man who developed the idea of allowing a giant city float in water said that it would take 3 years before the completion of the ship is done.

And as expected, the worlds largest ship requires tremendous engine power just to push the giant ship through the water or even to just get it to move. A hundred diesel engines will be outfitted in order for each one to create a total of 3,700 horsepower. One million dollar is the estimate cost of each engine alone which gives us a peak view of how expensive the project is even though the total cost is still not named. This expensiveness would of course be handed down to the people who wish to buy their residency on the ship who will have to pay 11 million each.

Living the Life at the Freedom Ship

An estimate of 17,000 residential units are available which will be a decent home for 60,000 plus of people which will include their personnel who are tasked to maintain the condition of the boat. The residents can expect that the ship will continuously travel around the world and will circle coastal regions thus people will have the chance to see how the whole world looks without actually leaving the comfort of their homes. The employees will be tendered medical and dental services, care housing, uniforms, and education program. The ship also embraces the entire modern feature you will expect in a modern city. The lists of features follow:

- 3,800 foot landing strip which will work as the landing place of private planes and other commercial aircraft that may carry up to 40 passengers only
- 200 million worth hospital
- marina for residents that own a yacht
- hangar for private air vehicles
- shopping mall
- golf range
- bicycle paths
- school system with college education
- open acres use for recreation.

Of course only a few would be able to afford to live in the worlds largest ship. They will be given the chance to enjoy no real estate tax, including income tax, business tax, sales tax, local taxes, and import duties. But still, there is still exemptions since residence are abided to follow federal tax laws in their original home country.<bio>PART 2 - For part two of this article, head on to Worlds Largest Ship where you can also get the best deals on a Carnival Cruise Line Ship vacation.</bio>

Tales of Otherworlds are almost universal in folklore and myth. There is not space to recount all of them, but today there has been a renewed interest in tales from the British Isles and Scandinavia, specifically those related to faeries, elves and other such Otherworldly creatures.

An interesting question to consider is whether these ancient tales were perhaps references to what modern philosophers and quantum physicists now call multidimensions, parallel worlds or possible worlds. These are all terms for the theory that reality is made of many dimensions, not all of them conforming to the same laws, especially in terms of time.

Faerie stories from the British Isles are of particular interest here, because they often specifically refer to the distortion of time that occurs when mortals interact with denizens of faerie. One of the most popular stories, from Ireland, is that of Oisin, a young man who falls in love with a faery woman, Niamh, and follows her to Tir Na Nog, the Land of Eternal Youth. Tir Na Nog is a fascinating topic of its own, as it is a place where time as we know it does not exist. Oisin, of course, is mortal, but has the choice of remaining in Tir Na Nog where he would become immune to the passage of time. As often occurs in such tales, he makes the mistake of returning to his native land, where he finds that hundreds of years have passed and everyone he knew are long dead.

Stories from other lands have similar themes. The Welsh version of Tir Na Nog is Annwn, which is featured in the Mabinogion collection of stories. The Norse have Valhalla, though this is less a parallel world and more like the Christian heaven, as it is a place where mortals go after dying a heroic death.

Yet another, more modern, version of time distortion occurs in stories (whether true or not) of alien abductions. These are often frightening experiences, though sometimes the aliens encountered are friendly. In many cases, a common feature is that when the person is fortunate enough to be returned to earth, a distortion of time has occurred. As with faerie stories, this time distortion can go either way -even much more or much less time has passed than the "victim" believed.

We can, of course, simply categorize all of these tales as just that -tales, based on superstition, imagination or just plain fabrication, perhaps with alcohol or drugs thrown in the mix. However, when we consider the enormous number of such tales that are similar in so many respects, we might just as likely consider that there may be something to them. Could there not be a myriad of realities, some of which, under certain conditions, overlap with our own?

Shamans have traditionally believed something similar. Shamanic journeying involves visits to other realities and interacting with spirits and beings who reside there. Another aspect of shamanism is the belief that the dream world is just as real as the waking world, and that we are actually "journeying" to these Otherworlds when dreaming. That is why we often encounter people in dreams who are deceased in "real life."

It would be difficult, probably impossible, to prove in a rationalistic way that any of these tales or experiences represent actual shifts in reality or visits to Otherworlds. Those interested in pursuing this possibility, however, might do well to study folklore alongside some modern theories of philosophy and physics and consider the similarities.<bio>For more about possible worlds and quantum physics, visit Possible Worlds Explore the elusive world of Faerie Realms</bio>

The people in charge of making Pokemon popular again have done a great job. Pokemon was big a few years ago and it's recently made an amazing comeback. A whole new generation of kids are trying to catch them all.

It's a very good time to be a Pokemon fan. Pokemon Diamond and Pearl for the Nintendo DS have been in the Top 10 best selling games for months now and the Diamond and Pearl cartoon is pretty popular too. But why stop there? I have a vision and Pokemon people feel free to borrow this idea from me, that would make Pokemon an even more dominant gaming franchise. I'd like to see a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) based on the world of Pokemon.

Sure, I know that's there's a few Pokemon games online like Pokemon Crater and Pokemon Online (POL) but those games are pretty simple and based on the game play of the Game Boy Advance version of Pokemon. And I don't even think that Nintendo has anything to do with them. They could be one cease and desist letter away from being shut down.

I'd like to see a World of Warcraft style Pokemon game online. Use the same story line and game play as Diamond and Pearl but put the players in a cartoonish 3D environment. Choose your trainer avatar and start your adventure. Think about how cool it would be to wander around different towns and cities, catch wild Pokemon, train them, battle other trainers, do gym battles, collect badges and enter tournaments and do it all in a online 3D environment that you share with other Pokemon trainers. And to make it interesting they could add some members of Team Rocket to mix. Jessie and James could be bots that come along and try to steal your Pokemon.

This would be a great game for the Wii's Online Service. Pokemon Battle Revolution is out and it already has online play in Japan but that game is just an extension of Diamond and Pearl. Without a DS, that game isn't too good. No, they need to start over with a whole new online Pokemon game.

The Nintendo Wii is the hottest selling new video game console right now and it's outselling the PS3 and XBox 360. The Wii is still hard to find in the stores and that isn't going to change anytime soon. The Wii's only weakness seems to be it's online play which is weak at best. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is going to have online play but it's release has been pushed back to February. My Worlds of Warcraft Pokemon game idea (let's call it Worlds of Pokemon for this article) if done right, could become the game that puts the Wii Online Service on the map.

Hopefully someone at Nintendo has already come up with this idea and programmers are already hard at work on Worlds of Pokemon. If not, then I hope they have enough free time to read this article and get inspired. <bio>When Anthony Tripp isn't teaching his son how to catch them all, he's coming up with ideas about how to play Pokemon online and writing about it on his blog, http://www.pokemontoday.com </bio>

Others who watch you gradually shift and change need to understand that you embrace unconditional love as your choice in your life, and whatever lessons this brings to you; you need for your growth.

It is important for you to understand that, in your life, you have what you truly need to take the next steps into alignment. You are being guided by your intuition to go exactly where you need to go.

There is no need to fear the unknown and when you release the fear and develop trust you will take your next step in spiritual growth. Your inner soul searching is powerful and takes you where you need to be in your life. It doesn't support you to skip over your lessons, or go around them. It's the next rung on the ladder on your spiritual path. Support each other through these times; hold each other's hands and embrace each other's hearts emotionally because this isn't an easy exercise for any of us. The joy comes in knowing that you are clearly provided for, taken care of and never alone. This is how you will make the next shift in your consciousness and in making some shifts you'll feel more joyful and light than in others.

This particular shift into alignment has a different quality of a deeper, inward, soul search--deeper than you've gone ever before. But that's the beauty in the depth of which you are searching. It takes you into a new place, in your life. You are not ever without support and you must hold tightly to your truth. In essence, you must understand that very few people on this earth live in this particular way and walk in two worlds. What you are doing here is walking with a foot in two different worlds, gathering the strength from both dimensions. It's a very supportive place, and you will feel the self-empowerment in walking in both worlds. As you learn how to do this, you'll teach others how to do this because, as the consciousness shifts, others will ask you, "How do you live in this in this fearful world without falling apart? Your world is shifting very quickly, and what is not aligned with you, cannot remain.

The alignment of consciousness is the most important thing for us to focus on at this time. It is not what you do; it is how you feel when you do it. It's not whom you connect with; it's how do you feel when you connect with them. The alignment in the very core of your soul needs to be shifted and tuned until you can feel the balance of alignment. This next piece is to feel aligned on all levels that you share, whether it is how you work, how you relate to others, or how you live. This is how you help yourself and others shift into this new time.

You will notice the earth also shifting and changing. What is not aligned is being released. Let go. Those of you that walk the earth that are not aligned with the consciousness at this time are also being released with these changes. But the beauty is, When you do release and let go and open, the newness will be brought to you in a new level of comfort. Hold tight to both worlds. There are no gaps between the two. They overlap. Choose joy and alignment in your life. Joy is your choice! <bio>Shirley Knapp, Cooper Landing, AK, USA http://www.shirleyknapp.com Shirley Knapp is an internationally recognized spiritual teacher, and author of "Sustaining Joy" who leads groups in personal growth.
Free online RPG games are a great way to have a good time, if you have leisure. An lazy afternoon on a rainy day is the perfect setting for immersing yourself in a fantastic tale that involves wonderful countries, crazy beasts and gigantic ogres, beautiful princesses and powerful magicians, deadly plagues and incredible adventures. And some people don't even need the excuse of a rainy day to ignore work and enter their private fairyland!

There is a steady and dedicated fan base for free online RPG games. 'RPG', of course, stands for 'Role Playing Games'. You play the role of an adventurer in a fantasy world. You may choose your race so that you become a specialist in fighting with swords and clubs or bows and arrows, or you become a magician.

Many free online RPG games also allow you to choose one or more companions for your adventures, so that your group has a good selection of diversely skilled people. When you play a free online RPG game, it is best to concentrate on building your character(s) on single skill lines. Build one character to be a skilled mélee fighter, another as a combat magician, and so forth. A truly versatile party should contain about three to four members, each highly developed in a certain skill.

This kind of party is vastly superior to a loose bunch that contains jacks of all trades. There are people who have been playing free online RPG games for many years, and have built up their characters through numerous adventures and several levels. Their playing characters are truly formidable, the most powerful inhabitants of the imaginary worlds.

Among free online RPG games, there is a new type of games that have become very popular in recent years. These are the MMORPG-s, which is a shortened form of 'Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games'. The MMORPG-s contain truly gigantic worlds, with vast continents of land and huge oceans, snowy mountain peaks and sunny glades.

Thousands of people from all over the world log in to the game servers to assume their fantasy roles in those strange countries. As in most free online RPG games, the MMORPG-s do not have strict story lines -- only interesting settings where unique stories may unfold from the live interaction of a great number of human participants. You are even free to remain relatively free of quests and adventures, and simply roam the beautiful worlds as a traveller.

Commercial MMROPG-s include the hugely popular Everquest by Sony Inc., and The World of Warcraft by Blizzard games. In recent months, the internet has seen at least one massively multiplayer free online RPG game, known as Ragnarok. If you want a taste of this one, visit http://regnorakonline.com and get yourself registered for free. You shall need to download a small component of the game and install it on you computer. The rest of this fascinating game is online, and comes to gradually you as you progress through the levels. Remember that in order to enjoy a free online RPG game to its fullest potential, you need to have a broadband connection to the internet. <bio>Author: June Mala © 2006 http://www.us-herald.org </bio>

As small investors look for ways to ensure a good return on their money, land sales are increasing in popularity. Profits, whilst not guaranteed, are often better than those from the stock market, for several reasons:

Less risk, more profit

Whilst some investors have a significant investment in the stock market, often with a comprehensive, well-managed portfolio, for most smaller investors, their experience of the market is limited to one or two companies and they are therefore more open to stock market fluctuations and risks. Company share prices can be affected by many external factors, often beyond the company's control and, unless you are watching the market carefully day by day, you usually have to hold onto your shares for many years in order to turn a good profit.

By contrast, if you select the right land, or take the advice of a reliable land agent, you can realise potentially fantastic profits in a much shorter space of time. This is because the land that's normally made available to smaller investors has been carefully chosen. Big land investors buy and then bank land that they think will be ear-marked for development in the future, and then either hold onto it, or parcel it up and sell it to private investors, who reap the benefits if planning permission is granted at a later date.

No maintenance required

Once you've bought your piece of land, you own it outright and can sell it whenever you choose. You don't need to maintain it as you would a property and you don't need to follow its fortunes day in, day out, to find out whether you're making any money. If you need to raise money, you can sell your land quickly, whereas if your shares are at a low price, you won't be able to make enough cash.

The best of both worlds

If you have thought of investing in land, but don't want to get out of the stock market completely, then just broaden your portfolio by reducing your shareholdings and investing in land as well. You get the best of both worlds, and the chance to make a very health profit if you choose the land wisely. <bio>Strategic Land Investments offers a selection of investment land across the UK.
When Alexander the Great and his huge army had conquered much of the known world of the day he looked around and wept. "There are no more worlds to conquer," he said. We may view this as an enviable position, to have won all our battles and have no more to face. But in this day and age it may seem like a situation we'll never experience. Battles sometimes face us everywhere, but without a plan for facing them it seems unlikely we will find much success. This article will explore a few simple plans which might help you conquer your own worlds.

It is a well documented truth that when you keep your face to the sun, the shadows will all fall behind you. What does that teach us about life? Perhaps it is as simple as facing your problems head on. Conversely, if you turn your back to the sun, all you will see is shadows. Either method is a choice each of us can consciously make when dealing with life's problems. Many people choose to turn their backs to a problem, or at least not take a realistic view of it, and see everything in a negative light. Others seek to understand the truth about a problem, to stare it in the face and fully understand it; these are like the people who turn to face the sun and leave the shadows of doubt, fear and failure behind.

If you can face and finally be rid of your problems, you will finally experience the freedom which ultimately leads you to true success.

Here is a simple three step process to help you face your problems straight on:

1. Analyze each situation with a calm and cool head. Turn it inside out and explore its true nature. Don't give into an emotional reaction.

2. Understand that many problems could have been worse. Be thankful for the things that didn't happen and embrace any good you can find in a difficult situation.

3. Be patient in finding the good within a situation, it may not appear right away. Sometimes the good is revealed in a flash and other times it will appear more gradually. It could even appear years down the line.

Perhaps if you learn to face all of your problems and eliminate them one by one, some day you will find yourself in a position to echo Alexander's famous lament. <bio>Robert Greenshields is a marketing success coach who helps business owners and independent professionals who are frustrated that they're working too many hours for too little reward.
Introduction

What hairstyle will look best? Many women ask this question. Women want a style that is maintainable, satisfying to themselves, and attractive to others. Styles are changing all the time in Hollywood. Stars have long, short, curly, and shaved heads of hair. How can a woman choose the right style?

Wigs offer a solution to this question. You can have short, medium, or long hair in any style and any color you like. It requires no cutting, dying, or styling.

For curiosity's sake, the following provides some information on preferences for long and short hair.

Long hair = lots of attraction?

Traditionally women have had longer hair. Most iconic figures of feminine beauty through history and in the present age have featured long, luxurious locks. Longer hair offers the ability to change frequently. One day a woman can have straight hair pulled back, and the next day, display long, flowing curls.

The shorter, the better?

It has become more acceptable and prevalent for women to have shorter hair. Though styling choices are more limited, maintenance and preparation is easier. Shorter hairstyles can better accentuate the face and offer a fuller, healthier look for those who are suffering thinning hair.

The best of both worlds

As aforementioned, wigs provide the best of both worlds. A woman with short hair can purchase a long, great looking wig to wear at her convenience, and a woman with short hair can easily acquire a short wig rather than cut her hair.

Beyond length, wigs offer the ability to wear your hair in any style and color without undergoing expensive and damaging styling and coloring procedures. The artisan ship of wigs is excellent and the invention of human hair wigs makes it virtually impossible to tell the difference between what is real and what is due to a wig. <bio><a href="http://WigShop.com" >http://WigShop.com (http://www.wigshop.com)provides the ultimate resource for wigs and quality hair pieces.
In the early days, and I mean the really early days of home video games, you had Pong: two bars, one square ball and that's it. It was a very simple concept that anyone could literally figure out within seconds. Even more elementary than that was the fact that there were no characters, no plot, no storyline, no real purpose of the game, except to bump and bash that cubed ball back and forth. While Pong was a nice recreational distraction and diversion from the boredom of everyday life =96 and back then, Pong was a big deal =96 there was no real vested interest in the game once the video game system was shut off. That is to say, Pong was just a game. Nothing more, nothing less.

Fast forward to today, and video games are much more than simply something to play. They are now worlds with people and experiences that gamers get involved in and have serious personal stake in as well. Video game characters, especially, have evolved and grown over the years. While the erstwhile plumber was cute, he wasn't really endearing. He didn't say much, his emotions were limited and his experiences were fairly mundane. Heck, in his original solo adventure, he couldn't even go too far backwards! He was simply the vehicle for which the video game player used to traverse the game.

Now, video game characters are people, with expressions and emotions. They have a history and a purpose. They have a back story, and they are vengeful. They have facial expressions that video game players can relate to. They aren't just video game characters: they're tragic heroes and misunderstood villains. They live and work in worlds that are at once foreign to us but recognizable too. Today's video game characters speak to us, and for us. We want to hear what they say, and see how they act and react. They aren't just computer generated characters by designers, they are actors, with a script to follow and a mystery to unravel.

The advancement and evolution of video game characters is to be expected, since video games themselves have advanced and evolved. In the old days, video games usually took place in a finite world =96 that is to say that a video game player could sort of make out and define where and how the game would and should end. Because of that simplicity, it was easy to figure out what the character should do and be. Today's video games, like the ones featured on the Xbox 360 or the Sony PSP, take place in immense worlds where a lot of random possibilities can occur. That requires the character in the video game to act and react in ways that we can't really predict.

Also, today's modern video game characters can be so likeable and interesting as well. With personalities, emotions and phrasing that can really make people laugh and take interest in the character. And, with cross-media branding being at the forefront of just about everything these days, you can bet that a popular video game with an exceptionally popular main character will be made into a movie, a comic-book or a TV show. While that's great for media companies looking to make more than just a few extra dollars, it presents a real opportunity to flesh out and give the main character some more depth. Because while today's video games are impressive in size and scope, they are still video games and they are still limited by its programming and design. But a movie or a TV program can really give new emotions to a character whom in some ways, already seems to be more than human. <bio>Freddy Mason loves video games and it always looking for the deeper meaning in games (if one exists).
If you are reading this article, it means that you possess respectable knowledge on how to make money at home and probably moved past beyond being one of the estimated 6 million people who fall prey to online money-making scams. However, with success in the WAHM field comes the wham part - sacrificing personal home life in favor of professional career moves.

This need not be the case, however, especially when you can apply these tips to applying your knowledge of how to make money at home with balancing your need of how to make love at home!

Organize, Organize, Organize

The need for efficient and effective organization cannot be overemphasized if you are to apply your knowledge of how to make money at home successfully. The adages about a place for everything and everything in its place as well as about a time for everything and everything in its time are ones that you can and you should apply wisely.

You can organize on three levels. First, you have to organize your time. You have to set a daily and weekly schedule - when to work on the home business, when to rest, when to relax, when to perform household chores, when to conduct home management tasks, when to cuddle up with hubby and kids - and stick to your guns.

Of course, you can be flexible especially when you have kids. Still, your schedule must be adhered to as closely as possible barring emergencies if you desire order in the house and in the business. You will indeed find that how to make money at home involves how to make order out of chaos.

Second, you need to organize your work areas. This is very important as you cannot and should not waste time and effort looking for every scrap of paper, every piece of office equipment, every loose paperclip in your already-crowded daily schedule.

Also, you have to keep your work areas separate from the rest of the living areas lest you find your office files becoming drawing paper, your ink mixed in with the infant milk, your laptop the new toy for the little boy. If possible, convert a spare room into a home office and keep it securely locked to avoid disasters of the kid kind.

Third, you must organize your business records. Your business records are valuable in keeping your business in the black when it comes to tax filing time, keeping business contacts, maintaining tip-top accounting records and generally just keeping tabs on the quantitative side of the business.

Remember that along with the knowledge of how to make money at home and how to run a successful home-based business come the responsibilities to pay taxes, keep honest accounting records and follow the laws pertaining to your business.

Rest, Relax, Unwind

As a work-at-home-mom, you will be required to perform many roles and to perform them well. You will be mother, wife, daughter, businesswoman, aunt, and friend all rolled into one superwoman package.

This can take its toll on your mind and body. To avoid burnout, you have to set aside time to rest, to relax, and to unwind from the pains of being a WAHM. If possible, you must consider your "me-time" as sacred and require that your family respect it to be sacred, too.

When you have applied these tips to balance how to make money at home with how to maintain your personal home life, you will have the best of both worlds. And what worlds these are - filled with emotional love and financial security.<bio>For more ideas and tips on how to make quick money, how to make money at home and the right legitimate home based business for you, visit BestRetirementAlternatives.com today!</bio>

Credits Cards have greatly changed the way that we all do business. Shopping both online and offline has become exponentially easier through the intelligent use of credit cards. This only works under the right circumstances though, since reckless credit card use can easily ring up quite a debt that may be very difficult to pay back.

The best aspect of credit cards is obviously the way that they can make your life easier. Travel has been made much easier through the development of the credit card as a part of modern life. It doesn't matter if you're going to Melbourne or London. Any trip near or far will be easier if you have a good credit card at your disposal. Do you really want to carry all of your vacation money in cash or annoying traveler's checks? You want a credit card.

Even daily business will be easier through credit cards. You can just use your credit card as a type of smart debit account. You can easily charge your daily purchases or take advantage of that big sale and then just pay off most or all of the debt at the end of the month. You'll ultimately have the best of both worlds. Shopping will be easier, you will still get everything that you want, and if done correctly, you won't build up any significant amount of credit card debt.

Shopping online is only possible through a good credit card account. There are going to be a lot of times when you aren't going to want to leave the house. In times of swelteringly hot temperatures or stunning gas prices, you would greatly benefit from being able to buy a new book or a DVD on your card. Then, you'll just have a few days to wait until it is in your hands and ready to go.

Using a credit card properly also requires a whole lot of common sense. It may seem like you won't have any problems with your credit card when you first get it, but the debt can add up very quickly. The idea of the seemingly limitless pit of credit available to you may be a little bit too convenient at times. You have to remember that building up a debt to take advantage of a sale is not always a good idea.

If you can't take care of it quickly, the interest acquired will easily make the savings from the sale worthless. Add to that the really terrible interest rates that can quickly multiple a small debt into a large one, and you will have a serious problem.

In the end, you just have to really take a look at what you want from your credit card. If you want a good financial state, you should focus on just using it for convenience. It really isn't a good idea to see it as a huge loan, since you could probably get a loan for a cheaper interest rate.

But, if you keep that in mind, you can live in the best of both worlds. You can have the convenience of a credit card with the benefit of not having to build up a large debt. <bio>If you are in Australia and looking for Credit Cards, come to http://www.creditcardoffers.com.au Come to us for a Aussie Credit Card at http://www.creditcardoffers.com.au/aussie.html from Citibank at http://www.creditcardoffers.com.au/citibank.html or another provider. </bio>

It wasn't too long before we were riding in a colorful cab headed toward the hotel, about half an hour away. I was anxious to get to the beach and looking forward to enjoying the sun and the sea. Actually, most times at the beach, I prefer sitting under a large shady tree gazing forever at the horizon where the ocean meets the sky.

It is by the sea that I hear the whisper of the universe, the songs of the stars and the melodies in the wind. It's always good to go down to the sea again; for me it's akin to therapy. I glanced over at Marla who seemed to be relaxing with her eyes closed.Strange, I thought. We come from two totally different worlds =97 different perceptions, different emotions, different realities . . . or do we? Gideon and Marla had special license, far above the ordinary. Yet, at times, it seemed our worlds had much in common.

It was as if she heard my thoughts, for she opened her eyes and said, "Yes, we have a number of things in common with your world, but your world is my world too. In either world, yours or mine, there are very strong emotions and feelings. Can you imagine what a world would be like without emotions?"

I answered, "Perhaps less violence, more peace, less greed, more giving, less grief, more happiness. ..."

"And you don't think some of those things are emotions?" she asked.

"Well, in a way, but aren't some of them unhealthy emotions?"

"Healthy or unhealthy," she replied,"emotions are emotions. The river of life runs between two banks. One is the bank of prosperity, happiness, peace, pleasure and all positive things. The other is the bank of sadness, poverty, depression, grief, pain, hurts and all negative things. The problem is not that one bumps into these banks during the common voyage of life, but that one gets run aground, getting stuck on one bank or the other. Life is an ever-flowing process, which can never stop. It is connected to the sea of tranquillity, the oceans of eternity and the skies of forever. It must keep flowing. A little time on either bank is fine. However, stagnation or habit patterns develop if you spend a lifetime stuck on one bank. Remember, John, we're all on a journey in the Fields of Forever."

To read the rest of the story visit http://www.spiritual-simplicity.com <bio>Lecturer, entrepreneur and MBA business consultant, John Harricharan is the author of the award-winning book, "When You Can Walk on Water, Take the Boat."
Consider throwing time into the wind and taking off on a voyage to explore new worlds, meet new people, and build up a number of new experiences and memories. That is what is waiting for you when you decide to go on a long cruise holiday.

Holidays at sea are often shorter than you would like. Once you really get into the groove of things, the holiday is over, and then you go home and are dreaming of the next holidays where you can get out and enjoy yourself and maybe do more next time. Well, why wait until next time? Why not take a long voyage this time?

Consider these options, being somewhere that is a self catering environment where you have to take care of all the details, or being on a cruise ship where you are treated like royalty and all your needs are met. Longer cruises mean a longer time of being pampered, and more time to get to know your ship, as well as more destinations for the ship to stop at along the way, meaning more adventures for you to experience.

These don't have to be month-long cruises, although they could be. But you can start with cruises that are about a week long. A popular of these cruises is A San Diego to Baja, Mexico cruise on the Carnival Cruise Ship Elation. This 885 foot long floating resort offers all the comforts of home, plus many of the luxuries you are not used to from your home in one large sailing package.

For something a little longer, there is a 15-day Panama Canal trip. At this length, you can enjoy a completely relaxing experience in which time you will become at home on the ship, get to know your way around, and be able to take the most advantage of what it has to offer.

Another two-week cruise trip will take you back in time through the Isles of Greece. The 14-day trips will give you the chance to see 12 of the Greek Islands including Naxos and Mykonos. During your stops, you will be able to see the ancient ruins of this region and enjoy the beaches, thinking back to a time when some of the worlds intellectual giants were looking at the same horizon. If you're really adventurous, you can take a full month to travel to Europe and back. You could choose docking in Ireland, France or Holland. If you don't want to spend quite as much time at sea, you could make it a one-way sail and fly the other way. Flying to Europe and then sailing to New York will give you a feel of what it was like in centuries past when immigrants were heading to the New World.

While at first glimpse it may seem it costs a lot to take such a long cruise, when you really look at the numbers, it is not as bad as it first seemed. Since your cruising cost covers your room, all your meals and many entertainment items it is a great deal and a great way to see the world. <bio>Jack Blacksmith very often publishes online reports on news about Xixona and Villajoyosa.
The evolution of women seems to have come full circle. It was less than two generations ago that it was rare that a woman held a job, let alone her own business. It was less than twenty years ago that women slowly made their way into the workforce, some out of necessity and some out of wanting a career outside of the home. Women have since bridged the gap of working outside the home and staying home with their children by starting their own home-based business or even taking advantage of the new trend of telecommuting. The goal of working from home is to combine being able to stay at home with children and yet maintaining a career. It seems that this would be the best of both worlds yet; finding a balance to pull off working from home while juggling raising children is no easy task.

I relish the time that I get with my son. I love being able to start my day hearing his happy chatter over a leisurely breakfast, but it is not always the greatest. I found challenges as I transitioned to working at home. The first one was the adjustment period. I was not accustomed to being able to flex my time, I was use to structure -- start work at 8:00 am and work until 4:00 pm.

Not only was I struggling to working out my schedule to maximize my time while allowing for the flexibility that drew me to working at home, but my son had some adjusting to do as well. He was accustomed to daycare and sitters during the day. Now, he had mommy home all day long and he equated that with playing with mommy all day long. When it was time for him to play in his custom play yard while I tried to get some work, my little angel, my heart, my happy little 1 year old, threw his first officially 1 year old tantrum.

After a couple weeks of unproductive time spent trying to get work done while dealing with a very unhappy little boy I decide it was time to figure out how to make it all work.

Here are steps that I took to make work at home a better and productive experience for both me and my son.

1) After I set up my work goals, I estimated how much time I need to devote to my business to accomplish them each day.

2) I build my schedule around the existing schedule. For example, the bulk of my work is done around my son's nap time, which gives me 2-3 hours of uninterrupted time.

3) I slowly incorporated the new schedule, giving both of us a chance to adjust to me working at home.

4) I set up time weekly for both of us to be out of the house. He goes to daycare for a half a day to play and I work, then after I pick him up we have an outing together.

Women are choosing to stay home to persuade their careers and their role as mother. It really can be the best of both worlds, here are a few tips and things to keep in mind:

BE FLEXIBLE. Things happen, work on fluctuating your work schedule so that as things come up you can work around them.

LEARN HOW TO MULTI-TASK. Many times I have a roast in the oven, laundry washing, while I am sorting mail and watching a movie with my son.

TAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF! Now that your two worlds have merged you may find those "little escapes" such as being able to unwind after you get home, become difficult to capture. Hire someone to come in weekly for a couple of hours to give you some time to yourself. Someone to come in and help with the house work can free up your time for the important things that make working at home so appealing to you.

ENJOY YOUR TIME. Whether it is the time spent working on your business or playing with your child(ren), enjoy the fact that you have the opportunity to do both without feeling that you have to sacrifice anything.

We are back to the time when women were able to stay home with their children, but with the added bonus of still being able to persuade our own career goals as well. As we are with our children helping them grow it to the people they will become, we are evolving, growing, and learning as well. Evolving into a new generation of women that do not have to choose between our family and our career; Growing into women that are learning how to have it all. <bio>Tonya Ramsey is a writer, speaker, life coach, and owner of Life By Design (http://lifebydesignsite.com).
As the largest school district in the nation, with over a million students, the New York City Public Schools face a mammoth task. In some ways New York City Schools are at an advantage because New York State has required the stringent Regents exam as a requirement for graduation for years. That doesn't mean that everyone in the New York City Schools is fond of the mandatory tests, but it has put the city and state at an advantage as far as meeting some of the No Child Left Behind Act's Standards. At least teachers and administrators of the New York City Schools already had some tight standards in place.

Teachers in New York City Schools need to have or obtain a Master's Degree to teach. While the New York City Schools are in need of teachers, just like the rest of the nation, the standards that they hold their teachers to and the pay are among the highest in the country. That's not to say the New York City Schools don't have problems- they do. But the New York City Schools do have a sound foundation for hiring teachers.

Diversity of New York City Schools

For anyone who hasn't visited the Big Apple, it's not easy to explain the different worlds that exist in one city. It's like the difference between the hustle and busy of New York City and the rural feel of the rest of New York State- different worlds. For teachers in New York City it means that where you teach can make all the difference in the world. New York City school teachers in Harlem will have an inner-city experience, while New York City school teachers in Long Island may have a more suburban teaching experience.

Issues for New York City Schools

The size of New York City Schools and classrooms is an issue that has haunted teachers for years. Most teachers agree that smaller class sizes are more effective for creating learning environments. Some students and teachers in about 50 New York City Schools have moved into smaller sized school buildings. Teachers in New York City Schools say that smaller school sizes create a more intimate setting, better parent-teacher relationships, and higher student achievement. Teachers also have a better chance of individualizing instruction when there are fewer students in a classroom. While the small schools initiative was mainly targeted at school size, teachers try to address class size as well.

Teacher turnover has been an issue in many, usually poorer, New York City Schools. Coming up with ways to keep teachers happy in these at-risk areas continues to be a challenge. Tenured teachers often leave these for "better" schools. And turnover itself creates issues. The teachers in the New York City Schools have a tough job by anyone's standards. And as the country looks for solutions to public education, New York City Schools will continue to be watched closely. <bio>Patricia Hawke is a staff writer for Schools K-12, providing free, in-depth reports on all U.S. public and private K-12 schools.
There are a huge variety of games for toddlers out there that are easy on their hands, interactive, and very educational while at the same time entertaining. The old games that you use to see being played by parents with their child on their laps are games that you would not be playing now once you see the selection.

When choosing a good toddler computer game, pick one that will be engaging for the child and entertaining also for the adult. Toddler computer games are supposed to be played with the parents as initial guide that graduates to the child playing the game alone. They must provide both fun to the parent as well as the child. Toddler games must be easy to start, it can be paused anytime, it must have colorful graphics without the scary and bloody episodes and preferably, should be customizable.

Computer software today is not really that inexpensive. As much as possible, you would not like experimenting with a CD only to find out in the end that what you bought is not appropriate. If you are one of the parents that wants to provided on for your toddler but are not sure how, you can click to any games website. The websites, aside from the games listing also provides a brief description of a game that might catch your interest.

You can also try the several shareware or trialware that are listed which you can try out first before buying its full version. This toddler computer game CD's will provide you a glimpse at the graphics and the general theme of the game although in a limited level only. However it will be enough to guide you by trying out a game first before deciding to buy one. There are also free games that are available on the public domain. The toddler computer games here may not be a new version although they are oftentimes just as good especially when starting to hunt for a toddler computer game CD.

Or you can try the following toddler computer game CD's.

Worlds of Xeen: this is a great game for small children. It is colorful and executed in the style of cartoons. The monsters in it are lovable characters and not in a bit scary. The quests are simple enough for toddlers to understand. Children above years old though may enjoy the game better because it is not customizable even with a hex editor. It also has more complex controls that may not fit the patience of younger preschoolers. Wizardry Gold - This is also a fighting monster kind of game. The plot may be a little bit complicated but toddlers enjoy opening up chests and moving along countryside in search for the monsters. This toddler computer game like the worlds of Xeen is very kid friendly. No gore and bad language. It is very customizable. Even the stats can be tweaked so the monster will not die.

Siberia - this toddler computer game is a modern graphic adventure. It has an easy plot and puzzles that could be absorbing to little children. Its glitch free operation makes for an absorbing play up to its end. There is no violence and skimpy dressing.

Other games you want to try: The Omega Stone, Mystery of the Mummy, Chemicus, Physicus, Myst, Wizardry 8, Katamari Damacy. <bio>Burt Cotton http://www.video-gaming-news.com </bio>
