Many people are surprised to learn there is no international copyright law. Yes, that is right. There is not an international copyright law that will protect your work on the other side of the world. However, it is important to note that most countries do offer some form of protection known as "foreign" works.

International conventions and treaties have done a lot to protect owners of copyrights around the world. With the world seemingly becoming smaller every day, the United States took a look at its stance on the European copyright treaty known as the Berne Convention. Basically, the Berne Convention of 1886 involved European nations coming together to seek a uniform copyright law to keep their copyright owners from having to register for copyrights in individuals European countries. The United States signed on to the Berne Convention introduced made it into a U.S. law known as the Berne Implementation Act of 1988.

If you are seeking to have your work protected in a particular country, you need to find out what kind of protection foreign authors have in that country. Some countries offer little or no protection to foreign authors. The U.S. Copyright Office is not allowed to give authors recommendations or the names of attorneys or agents that could help them understand foreign copyright laws. However, with a little investigation it is not hard to find someone who is an expert on foreign copyright law. These individuals can help you learn more about copyright protection and how your work is deemed in a foreign country.

Someone who works in international copyright law will tell you that it is different than most other sectors of law. It involves knowing the copyright law of two or more countries. Every country has their own way of granting and protecting someone's copyright. The individual criteria of each country must be taken into consideration when you are dealing with international copyright law. Some countries do not have any intellectual property rights and some countries even grant more copyright protections than the United States. International copyright laws involve understanding international treaties and conventions, like the Berne Treaty and WIPO Copyright Treaty. If you are interested in pursuing a degree in law, you may want to explore the international copyright law sector. With the world becoming one big neighborhood, you will probably not lack work.

People with copyrighted works need to be aware that there are differences in the copyright laws in some nations. While it is true the United States has signed treaties with some nations, your work will not be protected in every country of the world. As stated, the United States is a member of the Berne Treaty. In addition, the United States is a member of the WIPO Copyright Treaty. This treaty works in conjunction with the Berne Treaty, yet it also covers and gives protection to databases and computer programs. If you would like more information on international copyright law, you should check with an attorney who specializes in international copyright law. <bio>Brian Scott is a freelance journalist who covers copyright law for http://www.ResearchCopyright.com. </bio>

Authors, patrons, and owners of works throughout the ages have tried to direct and control how copies of such works could be used once disseminated to others. Mozart's patron, Baroness von Waldstätten, allowed his compositions created for her to be freely performed, while Handel's patron jealously guarded "Water Music."

Two major developments in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries seem to have provoked the development of modern copyright. First, the expansion of mercantile trade in major European cities and the appearance of the secular university helped produce an educated bourgeois class interested in the information of the day.

This helped spur the emergence of a public sphere, which was increasingly served by entrepreneurial stationers who produced copies of books on demand. Second, Gutenberg's development of movable type and the development and spread of the printing press made mass reproduction of printed works quick and much cheaper than ever before.

The process of copying a work could be nearly as labor intensive and expensive as creating the original, and was largely relegated to monastic scribes before printing. It appears that publishers, rather than authors, were the first to seek restrictions on the copying of printed works.

Given that publishers commonly now obtain the copyright from the authors as a condition of mass reproduction of a work, one of the criticisms of the current system is that it benefits publishers more than it does authors. This is one of the chief arguments in favor of peer-to-peer file sharing systems, making an analogy with the changes wrought by printing.

An interesting attempt at copyright in the early modern period was the notice attached to the ha- Shirim asher li-Shelomo , a setting of the Psalms by the composer Salomone Rossi, which happened to be the first music to be printed with a Hebrew type-face text (1623). It included a rabbinical curse on anyone who copied the contents.

While governments had previously granted monopoly rights to publishers to sell printed works, the modern concept of limited duration copyright originated in 1710 with the British Statute of Anne. This statute first accorded exclusive rights to authors (ie, creators) rather than publishers, and it included protections for consumers of printed work ensuring that publishers could not control their use after sale.

It also limited the duration of such exclusive rights to 28 years, after which all works would pass into the public domain.

There were territorial loopholes in the 1710 Act. It did not extend to all British territories, but only covered England, Scotland, and Wales.

Many reprints of British copyright works were consequently issued both in Ireland and in North American colonies, without any license from the copyright holder required. These works were frequently issued without payment to British copyright holders, so they were cheaper than London editions.

There was, between 1710-1774, legal debate about what length of time was meant in the 1710 act.

Publishers in Scotland, in the 1730's, began to reprint titles that they no longer considered to be protected by copyright. Scottish publishers printed what they perceived to be public domain English works whose copyright had expired. They sold these titles in Scotland, and in the English provinces. English publishers objected to this, on the basis of what they saw as common-law rights and property (under the concept of common-law rights in the English system), which predated the Copyright Act. Under common-law rights, rights in published works were held to continue into perpetuity.

The case of Donaldson vs Beckett, in 1774, brought disagreements on the length of copyright to an end, and changed common law in this regard. The outcome of the case resulted in the decision that Parliament could, and had, put a limit on copyright length.

This decision reflected a shift in English ideas of copyright. The English lords who made the decision in 1774 decided that it was not in the public's best interest to have London publishers control books in perpetuity, particularly as English publishers not uncommonly kept prices higher than otherwise.

Concepts of the roles of the author and publisher, of copyright law, and of general Enlightenment notions, all interacted in this period of copyright development. Authors had been previously seen to be divinely inspired in some sense. Patronage was a legitimate way to support authors, in part because of this. Authors who were paid, rather than entering into patron-relationships, were often regarded as hacks, and looked down upon. However, the notion of individual genius was becoming more common during the 1770's (the generation after Donaldson v Beckett), and being a paid author therefore became more accepted.

The Irish also made a flourishing business of shipping reprints to the North America in the 18th century. Ireland's ability to reprint freely ended in 1801 when Ireland's Parliament merged with Great Britain, and the Irish became subject to british copyright laws.

The 1886 Berne Convention first established recognition of copyrights among sovereign nations, rather than merely bilaterally. Under the Berne Convention, copyrights for creative works do not have to be asserted or declared, as they are automatically in force at creation: an author need not "register" or "apply for" a copyright in countries adhereing to the Berne Convention.

The USA did not initially sign the Berne Convention and would not do so until 1989, however many European countries did. The UK signed on in 1887, on behalf of itself and its colonies, but did not implement large parts of it in British law until 100 years later, with the introduction of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act of 1988. <bio>Find out how to copright a book. http://copyrightabook.info </bio>

There are many myths surrounding the issue of copyright. One of the most common is the idea that there is some sort of universally accepted international copyright protection.

As nice as it would be in our global economy to have some sort of clear international regime in place to govern copyrights and their violations, there is none. There is no international copyright protection.

Generally speaking, protection is governed by the country in which a copyright is claimed or in which a violation is alleged.

Most countries do have copyright regulations in place, but their terms may vary considerably.

Some nations actively cooperate with the U.S. on copyright relations and the U.S. Copyright Office provides information about those agreements and methods for handling international copyright disputes.

As mentioned in the introduction to this ebook, there are resources available regarding copyright considerations in other countries. If you have an issue with potential infringement and are willing to do your homework, you may be able to come to grips with the intricacies of international copyright laws and how to apply them to your specific case.

More often than not, however, international copyright issues are too complicated (and often, too costly) for the average person to pursue. This is a particular problem in today's global economy when a competing website could steal materials from another one without any real fear of legal repercussions.

Widgets.com could steal from GoodWidgets.com without too much concern, it might seem, if one site is ran from England and the other from Azerbaijan.

It is worth noting, however, that many web site hosts that aren't located in the U.S. are still willing to voluntarily enforce the provisions of the DMCA (which we'll soon discuss in greater detail). One should not, however, assume that a non-U.S. entity will ever bend to U.S. law. They don't need to do so and they probably won't absent an international agreement to the contrary.

Fortunately, many international agreements are in place. The Berne Convention, for instance, has more than one hundred signatories to the treaty who are obliged to provide copyright protections to authors.

The General Agreement on Trades and Tariffs (GATT) treaty also contains some copyright protection provisions.

These treaties have successfully allowed many authors to enforce their rights in other jurisdictions. However, when it comes to copyright, the key factors are often very detailed and differences in laws can result in outcomes one may not anticipate.

Additionally, even though various treaty regimes do assist in copyright protection, the rapidly changing nature of online communication has left some gaps in the system, complicating matters for online copyright holders. <bio>Brian Scott is a freelance journalist who covers copyright law for http://www.ResearchCopyright.com.
One of the most difficult parts of preparing for a convention is renting and setting up the trade show display for your company. There are dozens of companies offering dozens of different products for rental to display items for the trade show and having the right equipment and advertising can make your trade show experience even more effective. So what should you be looking for when renting a trade show display for your next convention? There are a couple of things that you should keep in mind.

One of the most important things that you should keep in mind when renting a trade show display for your next convention is how much space you will need for the display. As the size of the display gets larger, the price of renting the display increases, so you will want to get the smallest size that will still be adequate for the amount of information that you will want to display. You will need to be careful not to choose a display that is too small because a small display will have all of the information crowded together in a cluttered and unattractive fashion. People tend to ignore things that they cannot easily see or read, so a small crowded display may be worse than having no display at all.

Another thing you should look for when you need to rent a trade show display is an attractive price for the display. Different vendors will have different prices for their products, so you may be able to find a great deal on a rental display by shopping around for the best price. Be careful of deals that seem too good to be true or prices that are significantly lower than those from other vendors in the area because there may be a problem with renting from that vendor, such as a very low quality display or a scam that steals money from the company. Ask several different vendors for their prices and base your decision on the price and the reputation of the vendor.

The reputation of the vendor that you are thinking about renting the trade show display from is another important element that should be taken into consideration. Trade show display vendors that care about their company know that a good reputation is very important in the business community. The old saying goes "nothing travels faster than bad news" and that is especially true for a vendor that has repeatedly given bad service to those in the business world. If the majority of the information that you hear about a vendor, either by talking to business associates or reading reviews on the internet, is negative then you will want to find another vendor to rent your trade show display from.

In some cases, the price of renting the trade show display includes the cost of a professional assembly at the location of the trade show but in other cases, the renter will be responsible for assembling the display on their own. If this is the case, then the person renting the display will want to make sure that the display is one that will be easy for them to assemble. Even though more complicated types of displays may be more attractive, not being able to assemble the display in a reasonable amount of time and the frustration that is causes is not worth the appearance of a complicated display.<bio>Offers quality portable trade show podiums, tables, literature racks, trade show display booths and banner stands.
When you own a business, it can be a great idea to set up a trade show booth at a convention as a way to showcase and sell your products. Trade show booths allow you to be able to gain new customers and make individuals aware of your business and what it has to offer. However, you have to do something memorable at the convention so that potential customers will think of you when they need what you have. You don't want to get lost amongst the other trade show booths because you have nothing unique that stands out. Just keep in mind that creative ideas sometimes consist of spending money, hence the saying, "it costs money to make money." But what you will find is that your creative ideas will garner you the attention that you need to make your booth successful.

Unique Ideas

Some ideas may seem a bit off of the wall, but off the wall is what gets attention. Here are some ways that you can really get people to pay attention to your trade show booth:

• Try a money blowing machine. Many businesses use these machines to attract people to their locations. What happens is that people are standing in line to use the money blowing machine and they then see things that you have to offer. They will never forget you for giving them the chance to win some money. All the contestant does is step inside and grab at money or coupons. One or both can be placed inside. It makes for a rewarding experience and is also quite hilarious for the contestant and those watching.

• You can also go the route of offering promotional items. This isn't saying that you should offer ink pens and magnifying glasses. Yes, a person will use an ink pen, but they tend to be boring. You want to give them something functional such as a canvas bag that has your logo on it. They can carry this around and use it for a lot of things. You can even get water bottles with a private label for your business and offer the thirsty people at the convention a bottle of water. That is another one of those things you can do that they will never forget you for.

• Scratch cards are something people really enjoy. You can have scratch cards made up that reveals that they have won something free or they get a special deal from your booth or your store. People love mystery, so you can use the scratch card for this very reason.

• Prize wheels make for a great tool because you can place the name of certain prizes on the wheel and your visitors can spin for a chance to win one of the prizes listed. This is a great go getter at a trade show and will really bring attention. Next to the money blowing machine, this is something that people will definitely want to participate in.

Don't be afraid

Don't be afraid to spend the money and use these ideas because they will definitely pay off. Even if you get a small percentage of customers out of a large percentage of visitors, your endeavors are still going to pay for themselves and then some. These creative ideas are also the way you are going to become the booth to see at any trade show event or convention you attend. You don't just want to blend in with the crowd. You want to be so much more and that is what is going to happen here.<bio>Ballance trade show displays is a custom manufacturer and provider of custom trade show exhibits.
Something that has been in the news recently has been how there is a rise in skin cancer. People are being warned about how bad it is to go out in the sun without some type of sunscreen or suntan lotion on their body to protect it from the sun's damaging rays. That is why so many companies are offering promotional sun protection.

There are a couple of reasons why printed sun protection is an item that is good for companies to put their name and logo on.

1. Its something that is useful

Whether you are a man, woman or child, everyone should use printed sun protection. It helps to prevent skin cancer and makes the person's skin age slower. It also saves people from painful skin burns. When you give someone printed sun protection, you can be certain that it's going to be used.

2. It shows that you are concerned

When you offer a promotional item that is beneficial to the person, you show that your company cares about more than just making money. You show that your company cares about your clients and wants them to remain healthy.

As well as having a couple of reasons why it's a good item to promote a company, promotional sun protection also has a few places that it can be used to promote a company.

1. Conventions

This is particularly useful if you are attending a convention in an area that has a lot beaches or is a resort area. When people attend a convention, they don't expect to get something that they can use right away, but they will be pleasantly surprised at the sun protection that your company offers.

2. Company events

If your company is having an event that is outside, like a picnic or a day at an amusement park, give your employees each a promotional sun protection item to use on their families. This will help to ensure that everyone has fun and doesn't get sunburned.

3. Summer fun gift sets

You can also include promotional sun protection in a summer fun gift set. Put it in a beach bag with a beach towel, beach ball, sunglasses and beach mat, and you will have the perfect gift set to give out to employees and clients when summertime comes. This type of gift set can also be used as raffle or door prizes at company events, or as an incentive gift at a convention for people who sign up for a new account or sit through a presentation.

Promotional sun protection is an item that not a lot of companies think about when they are allotting monies for advertising, but it is an item that is worth considering in the right area. It will do the company and the customer a lot of good, and it will show the company in a new light.

Promotional sun protection is a promotional item that is worth a second look.
When someone thinks of promotional items, one of the first things that comes to the person's mind is promotional ballpens. Printed ballpens are a good choice for a promotional item because they are inexpensive, they can be bought in large quantities, and they are something that you know everyone will use on a regular basis.

There are several places and ways that you can use printed ballpens in order to promote your business and gain a lot of exposure for you and your business. These suggestions are listed below.

1. Conventions

One of the premier places that you can hand out your branded ballpens with your company name and logo on them is at a convention. One thing that you will be assured of is that a convention will have a lot of people visiting. Conventions are a good place to gain exposure for your company and any products that you have.

Conventions are a great way to reach people who you may not have any contact with otherwise. Simply hand out promotional ballpens with your company phone number, email address, and other information to those who visit your table at a convention, and you will find you have more customers than you might have expected.

2. Customers

When you are dealing with customers one on one, it's always a good idea to give them a promotional ballpen so that they remember you. A good example would be colleges visiting a high school. When students go to the separate tables that represent the colleges, they are given a lot of information. They may toss out the papers and flyers that the college recruiters give them, but branded ballpens are something that they can use.

If you go into a bank or another large business, you can often find promotional ballpens there as well. Those who own the business want people to remember their business and their services when they leave, so they keep them out and available.

3. Mailings

Branded ballpens are also often used to promote a new business in town or a new real estate agent. They are handy because are inexpensive both to buy and to send out in the mail. People can't take advantage of a new service or a new business if they don't know that it is there for your convenience.

When a mailer is sent out with only a flyer, they are often tossed out without a second thought. But people enjoy getting something that they can use.

As you can see, printed ballpens are a great way to promote your business in lots of different ways. They are good to give out when you go to conventions, they are great to give out to customers so that you are remembered, and they are an inexpensive and efficient addition to the mailers that are sent out to potential customers.

Customers appreciate it when their needs are taken into consideration. Promotional ballpens show your customers and potential customers that you are interested in giving them something useful instead of just telling them about your business.<bio>Matt Franks is director of Fluid Branding, the UK's largest supplier of Promotional Ballpens and Branded Ballpens at www.fluidbranding.com. But if the event is done extremely well, the benefits can go on for years.

Here are ten customer service tips to the people hosting the 2008 RNC to help the event be spectacular in the eyes of the delegates, media and others who make the event what it is.

Top Ten Customer Service Tips for the 2008 Republican National Convention

1. Put Yourself in Their Shoes

Remember, this is a political convention. People are coming to discuss one of the three things you're not supposed to talk about in public. Oh, and by the way, many of these people will disagree with others. So, the potential for hot tempers, emotional flareups and verbal conflicts will be extremely high.

To help them have the best experience possible, remember this. Look for signs of potential conflict and act quickly to avoid or prevent problems. Don't get caught up in political debates while you're serving coffee or giving directions. And, get extra rest before you go to work during the RNC so you're mentally and physically prepared help a lot of stressed out people without losing your cool.

2. Go the Extra Mile for Everyone, Every Time

Some RNC guests will need a lot of hand-holding. They'll be away from the resources and conveniences of their homes and offices yet they'll still have work to do. Help them be successful and effective by going the extra mile. Offer to do more than you normally would. Show them how important they are to you, your business and your community.

3. Be Fast and Friendly

Big crowded events often sap people's patience. Add the heat and humidity and pressure of getting things done on the road and it's even worse. Move as quickly as you can as you help people. Be as efficient as you can and show them you respect their time. Here is where teamwork will be critical to providing great service.

4. Have Extra Patience and Tolerance

Even though some guests might not show you any patience, make sure you start each day with plenty of your own. Do whatever you have to do to be extra patient with everyone. Some RNC guests might be hard to understand because of language or cultural differences. Give them a little extra attention. Be tolerant of their differences and requests even though they might be beyond the norm for you or your company.

5. Be Proactive

RNC guests will be busy, tired and out of their element. They'll have plenty of needs and many questions on how to get things done. Try to anticipate what their needs might be. Think about what you'd find helpful if you were in their situation. Then plan how you can help your guests handle these needs.

6. Provide Food or Refreshments

Minnesota is hot and humid in early September which can wear people down. And when you travel you often have less access to food and beverages. So, do a big favor for your RNC guests and have healthy snacks, beverages and other refreshments available, especially if you run a hotel, motel or meeting facility.

7. Offer Space for Work and Rest

Depending on the type of business you have, try to offer quiet space for RNC guests to email, write, make calls or just relax. Remember, this is a working event for most of them. They'll have deadlines and commitments. We all know how hard it is to be productive on the road. By offering some quiet work space you'll make their time at the RNC much more enjoyable.

8. Have Information Packets Available

One of the most challenging aspects of traveling is knowing how to get around in your host community. Ease the burden on your RNC guests by offering information packets for them. Your city, chamber or convention and visitors bureau might already have a packet. Or create your own. Include shops, restaurants, transportation, services, emergency information, coffee shops etc. Anything you can do to help your guests find their way around will help make their stay easier and memorable.

9. Brainstorm with Your Staff

Before the convention starts, meet with your employees for a brainstorming session. Talk about how you can help your RNC guests have a successful and memorable experience here. Think of how you can help them be productive in their work and comfortable while they're here. Make a list of things your company could do. Then have your staff find creative ways to make the list a reality.

10. Debrief and Discuss Daily with Your Team

Once the RNC has begun, you can still find ways to provide amazing customer service to your RNC customers and guests. Every day before things get crazy, meet with your staff and debrief what happened the day before. Did they have any unusual requests? Were there any difficult situations? Review each day and learn from it. Engage your employees to find creative solutions to your customers special needs while they're here for the convention.<bio>Kevin Stirtz is the Amazing Service Guy. Many forget this vital step, and end up laying their products on a large pile on the table, which is inefficient and looks sloppy. Instead, consider your options and be prepared. You've spent a lot of money on getting your promotional products branded perfectly so why not display them accurately?

The first display method isn't really a display at all. I like to call it the hand-out method. With this type of "display," You keep your promotional products under the table and only hand them out to people who stop at your table to talk or customers who make purchases. This is a useful approach if you have larger and more expensive promotional items. Otherwise, people will just take one (or two or three) because they want the item, even though they'll have no real interest in your company. You can also hold a few items and walk out into the crowd to distribute and call attention to your booth at a fair or convention.

Of course, you can always try the traditional approach to displaying your promotional products and opt for baskets. Large, shallow baskets usually work best, but it is important to find containers that are appropriate for the size of your item. Always remember to test out your product display before purchasing by taking a few samples with you to the store. Those pretty silver baskets look great on the shelves, but if they're a half-inch too short for your pens, they won't be very functional.

When setting up a display with larger items that don't need a basket, such as mugs, keep the focus on your company. Turn all of the items facing outward so that your name or logo appears clearly, and make sure someone is in charge of keeping the promotional products stocked so that you don't run out halfway through the year or, even worse, halfway through a convention!

Themes are also a good idea, and can lend themselves to some fun promotional products. When this is the case, go the extra mile with your display, and you'll attract more customers and interest in your business and its services. For example, if you want to give away promotional pens and your theme is luau, you can purchase brightly colored hurricane glasses to hold them. At the end of the day, give away the glasses to the last few people to make clean up and storage a breeze.

If nothing else, you can at least cover the bottom half of some shoe boxes in wrapping paper to hold your promotional items. Doing these little steps shows that you've planned ahead for a more thoughtful display, instead of simply throwing items on a table. Functional displays will help to promote your business even more!

For additional information on advertising gifts, corporate gifts or promotional items then why not check out the leading promotional gift suppliers online today and start to make big savings. <bio>Gareth Parkin is the co-founder of Ideasbynet, the UK's leading online promotional products and http://www.ideasbynet.com promotional items company based in the north of England. </bio>

The 2008 Arizona International Auto Show is one of the most anticipated auto shows for car enthusiasts, but it's also a big gold star on the calendars of car dealers all over Arizona. Held November 22 =96 25, over Thanksgiving weekend at the Phoenix Convention Center on North Third Street, thousands are expected to turn out to get a glimpse of what's brand new for 2008.

The show gives folks the opportunity to check out all kinds of new vehicles =96 400 to be exact -- pickups , cars, cross-overs, and SUVs all under one roof. Scheduled to make an appearance are several exciting new models like the 2008 Isuzu i-370 Extended Cab pickup, the Hummer H3 Alpha, and the Audi R8 in addition to the latest concept cars by various makers.

Dealers from Chevrolet as well as Ford will be there offering ride and drives of the Chevy Malibu and several Ford models.

Sunday, November 25 is "Family Day." Kids under 12 years are free with a paid, accompanying adult. When you go, be sure to visit the South Building of the Convention Center where reliable favorites like Honda, GM, Isuzu, and Kia will be showing off their brand new models, as well as the West Building where you can check out Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, and Volvo.

Auto shows are important to dealers because of the enthusiasm they generate for new cars. Even people who wouldn't necessarily be ready to trade in their older models see a new model, fall in love with it, and the decision process begins. Even dealers who are not onsite offering drives at the auto show will experience an influx of potential new customers in the weeks following. Car shows are designed to be exciting. They bring car enthusiasts together in a social environment and allow them to reflect on all kinds of information about the cars that searching the internet would take hours to do. In the weeks after a car show, people begin to really think about the cars they've seen and decide they'd like to test drive the ones they were most interested in.

The Arizona International Auto show is sponsored by Motor Trend Auto Shows (the nation's largest new-model auto show producer) and will travel to 23 different convention centers this year, from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Secaucus, New Jersey and more.

Arizona car dealers aren't the only ones who will benefit from exposure at the show. Even if you're not in the market for a new car, at only $9.00 for adult admission, it's an affordable outing for the whole family on a weekend when you often find yourself trying to figure out how to entertain relatives. Attendees will learn more about automotive trends in general, but also about automotive safety features available or soon-to-be available.

The show happens in Arizona every two years, so don't miss it this time around. We know football and overeating are a big part of the holiday weekend, but there's always time for an auto show, right? <bio>When you need the best suv prices http://www.isuzu.com/get_a_quote.jsp get an Isuzu.
Then there is the most universal of all symbols, the Swastika (pictured). At one time it was thought that the Buddhists carried it all over the world with them, but it has been found out that ages before Buddhism it was used among nations. In Old Babylon and in Egypt it was to be found. What does this show? All these symbols could not have been purely conventional. There must be some reason for them; some natural association between them and the human mind. Language is not the result of convention; it is not that people ever agreed to represent certain ideas by certain words; there never was an idea without a corresponding word or a word without a corresponding idea; ideas and words are in their nature inseparable. The symbols to represent ideas may be sound symbols or colour symbols. Deaf and dumb people have to think with other than sound symbols. Every thought in the mind has a form as its counterpart. This is called in Sanskrit philosophy Nama - rupa -- name and form.

It is as impossible to create by convention a system of symbols as it is to create a language. In the world's ritualistic symbols we have an expression of the religious thought of humanity. It is easy to say that there is no use of rituals and temples and all such paraphernalia; every baby says that in modern times. But it must be easy for all to see that those who worship inside a temple are in many respects different from those who will not worship there. Therefore the association of particular temples, rituals, and other concrete forms with particular religions has a tendency to bring into the minds of the followers of those religions the thoughts for which those concrete things stand as symbols; and it is not wise to ignore rituals and symbology altogether. The study and practice of these things form naturally a part of Karma-Yoga.

To get more information visit : http://www.spiritual-simplicity.com <bio>Lecturer, entrepreneur and Fortune 500 business consultant, Vish Writer is the author of the Amazon No 1 bestseller, "The Joy of Becoming God" For more information, visit: http://www.spiritual-simplicity.com http://www.vish-writer.com http://www.simplifyyourthoughts.com </bio>

I am one of the lucky women in life who has the privilege of living with all men. Yes, that's right, I live in my house with my husband and four sons! I never would have imagined that my life would turn out this way, nor would I have imagined how much I love being surrounded by all of my men. There is so much to share on this subject, for I have learned a host of things from being removed from other women on a daily basis. One of the things that has fascinated me about raising boys is the hobbies they choose to spend time on. For example, for the past three years trading football cards has been the only thing talked about in our home.

I grew up with all sisters, so it was quite a new thing for me to be surrounded by litte boys. I was shocked by their need for adventure and by their desire to play things like 'cops and robbers.' I was also shocked that they could find such pleasure in collecting, trading, buying and selling such a thing as football cards.

Each of my four boys and my husband has a huge binder that holds their football cards. I guess my husband grew up collecting football cards and cards from other sports, so he was thrilled to have sons and get to include them in one of his favorite hobbies. They love their football card collections and they have their binders arranged just so. I cannot see a method to their madness, yet I am assured that there is one and that andquot;I wouldn't understand because I am a girl.andquot; I agree totally.

Once a year my boys steal away and go to a convention whose sole purpose is for trading, buying and selling football cards. I love it when they go because I get the house to myself for a long weekend, but I also love it because my boys come home and are filled with excitement for weeks on end. We always make popcorn and drink soda when they return as they each take turns showing me every single (I'm not exagerating) card that they got at the convention. I have grown to love these times with my boys, and I've even learned a lot about football in the process.

So consider starting to collect and trade football cards if you don't already. From a mom's perspective, it is harmless and somewhat educational, and I think at this point that I cannot ask for much more. <bio>Julee Mitchelsin is an author and a busy mother of four. She loves writing about the joys, sorrows and surprises of raising four boys. Football cards is only one of her many stories.
For everyone who has ever been caught in a rainstorm, whether they are at an outdoor sporting event, shopping at the beach, or any other time when you have been caught in the rain, they know how useful a poncho can be. That is one reason why so many companies are offering promotional ponchos.

Let's take a look at why printed ponchos are a good idea for companies.

1. They are useful

Personalized ponchos are a great item for companies to use for promotional purposes because they are something that are useful. It's important to offer people an item that is useful because that means that the company's logo and name will be seen on it. The more that someone uses a promotional product, the more advertising the company will get.

2. They are something that everyone can use

Unlike a lot of items that are only for adults or men, promotional ponchos are something that everyone can use. For someone that has ever been out in the rain with kids and have had them getting soaking wet, you know how important having a poncho can be.

3. There are different types of printed ponchos

Instead of there just being one type of poncho that you can choose, there are plenty of different types of personalized ponchos that you can choose from. There are ponchos that are also a waistbag, that come in a container, that are a four in one blanket, poncho, backpack and seat cushion, and that are just plain ponchos.

As well as having a few reasons why they make a good promotional item, personalized ponchos also are a great item to give out to people in a few different situations.

1. Conventions

You never know what the weather might be like at a convention, so you can give out some of the less expensive promotional ponchos at a convention. Take some for adults and some for kids, because you never know when there will be younger 'clients' there.

2. Company events

Printed ponchos are a great item to give out at company events, like picnics, especially if they are outside. You never know when there might be a sudden cloudburst and if everyone has a corporate poncho they will stay dry.

3. Employees and clients

For the nicer promotional ponchos, they make really great gifts for employees and clients. They can be an item to thank a client for their business or they can be given to employees for their years of service.

Promotional ponchos can be an item that will really give people something that they can use. They are an item that makes a good promotional item for several reasons, and they are a great item to give out several places.

When a company is looking for the perfect promotional item, they should look into promotional ponchos. They are an item that covers the person wearing them and the company's advertising all at once. Promotional ponchos are the item that companies look to for advertising their business.<bio>Miles Lovegrove is director of Fluid Branding, the UK's largest supplier of Promotional Ponchos and Branded Ponchos at www.fluidbranding.com.

For Eco Friendly promotional products, including Recycled, Organic and Sustainable items visit www.ecoincentives.com</bio>

They are inexpensive.

One thing that companies find out when they are looking for promotional items is that printed CDs aren't a very expensive item, which makes them great for promoting a business and giving them out to people.

2. They are light weight.

Because of their thin size and their light weight, they are an item that travels well, which is important when a company is sending a representative to an expo or a convention. Because of their light weight, a person can carry a lot of them in their suitcase without having to worry about being charged extra for overweight luggage.

There are also a lot of choices when it comes to where you take printed CDs to promote your business.

1. Conventions

One of the best places that you can take printed CD's to give out is to a convention or a conference. There are a lot of people who are there and they are all going to enjoy getting a promotional CD, whether it's a game CD, a software CD, or a music CD.

2.
Christmas is a great time of year. People are happy, they want to show good will to everyone around them, and they want to show others that they appreciate them and that they are glad that they know them. That is one reason why a lot of companies are ordering promotional <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/baubles" rel="tag">baubles to give out to their customers and their employees.

Here are some suggestions on how to make promotional baubles a successful part of your company's promotional campaign.

Order in Time

When ordering promotional baubles to hand out to people for the holidays, make sure that they are ordered in time. Allow time for the promotional baubles to be printed, for them to be shipped to the company, and for them to be shipped out to the people that you will be mailing them to.

You may also want to think of any different types of trade shows that may occur near the holidays where you might want to distribute your promotional baubles. If there will be a trade show where the promotional baubles will be distributed, there should be allowances made for that as well.

Order enough baubles

The next thing that you want to do is to make sure that there were enough promotional baubles ordered. When you are getting ready to order the promotional baubles, make a list of the people that you will want to want to present one of your promotional baubles to. Once you have that list, think of any appointments that you will have coming up around the holidays that you may want to give a bauble to.

Also take into consideration that you may want to order promotional baubles for something such as a trade show or a convention. If your company will be represented at a convention or a trade show, you will want to make sure that there are enough in your order so that they can be given out to people who come by the booth.

Know Your Recipients

The last thing that you should do when you are thinking about ordering promotional baubles is think about your recipients. Do you know that they definitely celebrate Christmas? The last thing that you want to do is to worry about insulting an important client because they don't celebrate Christmas.

So the good thing is to make sure that you know that the person that you intend to give one of your company's promotional baubles too, is someone who celebrates Christmas and that won't mind receiving one.

Promotional baubles are a great item to put your company's name and logo on and give to employees, clients and customers. They are something that shows that you recognize the holiday and that you are thinking of them during the holidays. They are something that can be given out at trade shows or conventions that can be given to employees and that can be given to clients and customers.

They are a promotional item that shows your company realizes the importance of holidays.<bio>Miles Lovegrove is director of Fluid Branding, the UK's largest supplier of Promotional Baubles and other Promotional Products at www.fluidbranding.com.
Something that has become increasingly popular in the recent years are DVDs. People have gotten away from using the old VHS tapes and VCRs, and are now watching their movies with the help of players for their DVDs. That is one reason why a lot of companies are using printed DVD players to promote their businesses.

Let's take a look at why printed DVD players are a good item for companies to put their names on.

1. It's something everyone likes

Almost everyone enjoys watching movies, and more often than not they own more than one television, so they aren't going to mind having more than printed DVD player. And when they are away from home, they are going to love watching movies on promotional DVD players that are portable.

2. They are something that people are going to use

Unlike a lot of promotional items that people don't enjoy, you know that when a company has printed DVD players they are going to get used and their money isn't going to be wasted. For it to be good, a promotional item should be something that people are going to use.

Along with having a couple of good reasons why printed DVD players are a good promotional item, there are a few ways that you can use them to promote your business.

1. Conventions

Conventions are a great place that you can take printed DVD players. One of them can be taken as a sample item that people will get when they sign up for an account or make a purchase with the company. It's also a handy way to show people a DVD of what the is happening in the company and what it does.

2. Employees

They make a great gift to give to employees, especially the portable promotional DVD players. They are an item that they can take with them when they are on the road and need something to do, or a great way to show a promotion when an employee is representing the company at a convention.

3. Clients

They are great items that you can give to clients when they have been with the company for a long period of time. They can be given to a client to show them that the company appreciates their business and their loyalty.

Promotional DVD players are a great item to put a company name and logo on. They make wonderful incentive gifts for people at a convention, as well as a great way to show people what is going on in the company. They can be given to employees and clients in order to thank then for their hard work and their loyalty to the company.

Portable promotional DVD players are an item that just about everyone can use, because people who are on the road a lot likes to have something to watch while they are travelling on a plain or on a train. When you give an employee or a client a DVD player, you will give the world.<bio>Miles Lovegrove is director of Fluid Branding, the UK's largest supplier of Promotional DVD Players and other Promotional Products at www.fluidbranding.com.
