What makes successful people successful?

We would all love to be able to walk down to the local supermarket and pick up a bottle of success. But let's look past that fantasy and find out one of the most basic reasons why people become successful.

Right now, think of someone that you know personally who is successful. Can you see their face in your mind?

Good.

Now ask yourself this question, "Does this person have a successful routine or set of habits that makes them successful?" I would be shocked if they didn't.

Sometimes the only difference between being successful and being average is having successful habits. Some examples of successful habits could be getting up earlier, doing thing when they need to be done, being prepared, or effective time management.

So how do you start to build these success habits in your life? Here are 4 tips on creating successful habits.

1. Identify -- Find the areas in your life that need changing. Write down these new habits that need to be formed. Don't become overwhelmed at trying to figure out how you are going to form all of these habits.

2. Pick 2 -- Most people sabotage themselves by trying to change everything at once. Instead, pick one major and one minor habit that you want to form. For the next 30-90 days these will be the success habits that you will create.

3. Start small -- Now that you have your two success habits, create a daily or weekly routine that is easy to follow. For instance, let's say that you want to wake up an hour earlier so that you can get more successful things done. Instead of setting your alarm an hour earlier right at the beginning, only set it 2-5 minutes earlier every morning until you reach your goal. This way it would take you 30 days or 12 days respectively to create your success habit.

Remember, the best way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time.

4. Repeat -- Once you have created your new habits move on to the next 2 success habits that you want to create. Before you know it you will have created a whole new life full of success filled habits.

Just imagine where you will be in one year if you follow these four keys to creating successful habits. If it takes you only 60 days to create 2 habits, you will have created 12 success habits in just one year! <bio>To get your free 7 part e-course, subscribe at http://www.findyourgreatness.com Jason and Rebecca Osborn have dedicated themselves to changing thousands of lives by helping people find their greatness and true potential through their Find Your Greatness Newsletter. </bio>

...Because if you don't, you need to find out about them!!

"The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" is one of the most influential self improvement books of all times: it has sold over 15 million copies in 38 languages since it was published in 1989! The author of the 7 Habits, Stephen R Covey, is a highly successful guru and acclaimed business leader.

The information in "The 7 Habit of Highly Effective People" can be used to accelerate your personal growth, your success in business, or even the overall success of a whole business -- the principles it teaches are so powerful and universally applicable.

The book talks about 7 mental habits that you need to adopt to live a full, purposeful and good life. The 7 habits are applicable today more than ever as the world of business becomes more attuned to the needs of everyone involved with it.

If you adopt and truly internalize the teachings of the 7 habit, you will be able to increase your effectiveness in the world.

7 POWERFUL SELF GROWTH TOOLS

The habits are in three groups. The first group are ones that are personal, internal habits: "be proactive", "begin with the end in mind" (a bit like "have a vision and a plan"), and "put first things first". You need to get these habits securely ingrained as a foundation to your character.

The next group of habits are about how you interact with other people: play for "win win", "seek first to understand then be understood", and "synergize".

The last group is just one all encompassing habit -- "sharpen the saw" -- make sure you take time to encourage all the other habits to grow and flourish.

But the book is much more than a description of the 7 habits, it takes you through a complete paradigm shift in the way you deal with the world and solve the problems of modern life. It is also full of insightful anecdotes that bring the ideas Stephen Covey 7 Habits talks about to life.

Many people agree that "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" is not an easy read -- but then that is often the way with something truly worthwhile! You MUST find the resources within yourself to read this book and use the principles it teaches in your life.

If you do "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" will continue to reward you time and time again with personal growth... <bio>You can get a free e-course "Achieving Your Dreams" and more resources, articles, and support materials to help you to succeed when you visit http://www.achieving-your-dreams.com Kevin John has spent many years helping businesses owners, aspiring business owners, and private individuals. </bio>

At an early age, your child learns by imitating the things that he or she sees, hears or feels. According to studies, a child can not distinguish what is right from wrong until he or she reaches the age of seven years old. Until he or she reaches the age of reason, the child simply imitates everything that he or she sees or hears around. If you set bad examples to your child, he or she is most likely to imitate you. For instance, if you have bad parenting habits and you shout at your child, you child will believe that shouting is ok and would tend to follow your examples.

Helping Yourself Out of Bad Parenting Habits

According to studies, bad parenting habits are not only detrimental to the child but also to the parent. You may not be aware of it but bad parenting habits such as spanking or shouting at the child is very stressful on the part of the parent and the child. Studies show that when a parent is very angry, he or she becomes stressed. Since stress could often lead to many types of diseases such as hypertension, depression, insomnia among others, parents who can not control themselves when dealing with their children often suffer both physically and emotionally.

To help yourself get rid of bad parenting habits, you should learn to relax and be more tolerant towards your child. You must understand that children can be really a handful and it would not do you any good if you take everything so seriously. As long as your child is not harming himself or herself, you can at times just let him or her be. Give your child some room to enjoy what he or she is doing.

Another way to help you keep you temper in check and overcome your bad parenting habits is to plan out your day well. People are usually ill tempered when they feel harassed and out of control. In most cases, even people who do not have bad parenting habits would tend to snap at their kids when they are stressed out. By planning your day well you can avoid a lot of stress. Also, when you are planning your day, you should make sure that you organize some activities to keep your child occupied while you go about your daily routine. <bio>nn Merier writes articles about family health issues.
Have you ever thought how annoying little bad habits can be? It doesn't matter so much when it's just you, if there is no one to see you or hear you than what the hell and if your habits are more of a life threatening nature then while you are on your own it's easy to ignore the long term implications those bad habits can bring. When you're in a relationship it puts a whole new perspective on things, your partner and your family are enforced to put up with those annoying traits that can put a real dampener on what would otherwise be a blissful union. Isn't it about time that you learnt how to break any habit and save your partner, from having to suffer one of those common marriage problems.....

Biting your fingernails or picking your feet might not seem such an issue but when you're the one having to sit there and listen to it then it's a whole new ball game. Then you get into the issues such as dirty clothes all over the floor or smoking. Bad habits that are fine if both partners are of a like mind but what about when one is tidy and the other just doesn't care or one smokes and the other doesn't. Smokers often can't see what the issue is but they soon learn when they give up. Haven't you noticed how intolerant to smoke previous smokers can be? Learning to break such habits, in fact learning to break any habit can be hard but if you want your relationship to last, consider your partner, make an effort to understand the impact bad habits have on your relationship and then see what help is around to enable you to break those habits now.

Like most common marriage problems bad habits just creep up on you, they start off as quite small and insignificant but then compound and grow until they start to have a negative impact on your whole relationship. You get into the realms of, 'if you loved me you would'nt do that' or 'if you do that once more I'll scream'. Of course the partner with the annoying habit just assumes it's a blip, it will all blow over, they didn't mean it and it will be all OK tomorrow.

The truth is, things do appear to settle down but then the issue starts to fester, eat away at your relationship through a lack of communication and understanding and lack of desire to apply some give and take. If in fact you do care for your partner and what to save your marriage is it such a bad thing to break annoying habits that might not only have a negative impact on your relationship but also your career or other aspects of your personal life.

Breaking bad habits in a marriage isn't always easy, but it's a better option than ending up in the divorce courts and your never know, kicking the habit might add a whole new meaning to your life.

Whatever that bad habit is, avoiding sex, not spending time as a couple, smoking, drinking, biting your nails or eating too much when you are married or in a full time relationship it's not just you to think about. Bear a thought for you partner, put yourself in their shoes, and be honest about whether or not they have a valid point. Like all common marriage problems it's just a case of communication, learning to understand each others point of view and then working together, and not pulling in opposite directions to, in this case, learn how to break any habit and add a whole new meaning to your relationship. <bio>Why not take a look at my website page http://www.commonmarriageproblems.marriagehealth.com/Break_any_Habit.html </bio>

Self hypnosis is a tool that can help you eliminate some of those nagging problems for which there seem to be no solution. Hypnotherapy is not just something that is made fun of in movies. It isn't just something that you might see in a magic show. In fact, it's not magic at all. It's a real treatment that can help a person get over problems that have strong mental roots. There are many problems, such as struggles with addiction, which have been treated successfully with hypnotherapy. Trying to identify these problems and get rid of them is the first step, but hypnotherapy might be what you need.

Hypnosis and self hypnosis are two different things, though. The benefits of self hypnosis can be substantial if you know what you are doing. It only works with the right knowledge, though. A licensed hypnotherapist can instruct on the right ways to perform self hypnosis.

Some of the problems that self hypnosis can help eliminate are problems with smoking, alcoholism, wealth, gambling, and a host of other things. Basically, it can help address issues or habits that simply won't go away on their own. Most conditions are caused by a bad mindset. By performing hypnosis on yourself and changing your thinking, you can stop those habits. It is difficult to break a habit, especially an addiction, without help. It can't be done without a little bit of outside intervention. It is important to recognize that or you will continue with those bad habits.

Self hypnosis can help you get your life back. Many problems are deep seated and have been around for most of your life. Those are not just going to go away. They will continue to influence the way you live each and every day. How do you go about changing those bad habits? You have to remove mental tendencies that have caused the bad behavior or ill things for so long. Choosing to take part in self hypnosis could be the most important decision that you ever make. In the end, it could end up giving you a good life back where one was stolen.

Self hypnosis isn't a difficult thing, but it does require a little bit of knowledge. Get some information on how to perform self hypnosis or see if hypnotherapy is for you. It could be the most important thing you ever do. <bio>Learn self hypnosis right now with Richard MacKenzie's self hypnosis ebook http://www.richardmackenzie.co.uk/ebook-self-change_hypnosis.htm </bio>

You are the product of what you repeatedly do. If you have well-trained organizational habits, then you are an organized person. If your habits include reading a lot, then you are a well-read person. I work at finding new habits that will help me save time. Some tips:

1. Use Every Minute. Efficient people use every minute. There's no such thing as waiting time. You can use waiting time to make a quick call, or do a small task. For instance, why not empty the dishwasher while you are waiting for your toast to pop up in the morning?

As Thomas Edison said, "Everything comes to him who hustles while he waits."

2. Be Prepared. If you know that you will have wait times, then choose to be prepared to fill those waiting times. Carry a book with you. I can't think of the number of books that I have read two or three pages at a time. I will read two pages here and three pages there, and sooner than expected, I have finished the book and have absorbed new information.

If you are not a big reader, consider doing other things during your wait time. Bring your call list, your blackberry, or your stationery.

3. Make Associations. Sometimes the best way to get a task done is to always associate it with another task. For instance, if you never remember to water your plants, make it an association with something else. You could, for instance, choose to water your plants while your favourite TV show is on: this means that your plants get watered once a week, and you're not sedentary on the couch for an entire half hour or hour.

For me, this means that every time I leave a room, I try to leave it a little bit better than when I came into it. This allows me to keep my office and home fairly neat. Rather than spending an hour cleaning my office once it has gotten out of hand, I spend a minute or two here and there--particularly when I leave the room--and I am able to keep a neatly organized workspace.

4. Track Yourself. The key to making successful time management habits is to be aware of them. If you know what you are doing frequently and repetitively, you will be able to change these habits. Often, it is difficult to track the things that we might do on autopilot: for instance, perhaps when you come home, you automatically take your shoes off and leave them in the doorway. If later on in the day, you have to come back and put the shoes in the closet, you are wasting time. You could have saved that time by simply putting them away in the first place. Try to keep a log of what you do for a few days to see where you spend your time.

Tracking your habits will also help you to improve them. I don't track my habits all the time, but I find that when I do, I tend to spend my time more productively. I find myself thinking during the day about what I am doing because I know that I will write about my actions later. I want to look good in my log, even though it's only me who reads my log.

At first it might seem that you aren't making progress with your habits. Remember, it takes 21 days to create a habit. So consistently stick with your habits. They will help you in the long-run. Forming habits for success now will benefit you in all aspects of your life, in the immediate present, and in the days and years to come! <bio>Jim Estill is the CEO of SYNNEX Canada.
Habits have a bad rap. Most people think that habits either "should" be gotten or "should" be eliminated. Yet, in reality, habits are simply behaviors that show how we operate internally and externally.

Our lives are filled with habits -- layer upon layer of habits. In most situations, we have a usual tendency, or a habitual way of reacting to the highs and lows of life. We also react to our habits. If we say we'll go to the gym three times a week and don't, we have a habitual reaction to that. Perhaps we'll say we'll never skip again. Maybe we'll beat ourselves up or make a list of 431 reasons why skipping the workouts was beyond our control.

Habits say a lot about yourself -- what you care about, what makes you angry, what makes you tick. Breaking those habits gives you lots and lots of choices in life. YOU have the power to choose your reactions, choose the words that come of your mouth, even choose your choices.

What am I talking about? When we hit a "same-old" situation or circumstances, many of us let our minds slip into automatic pilot and we lose the ability to consciously choose our reactions. It's like dropping a marble into a groove in our brains over and over. Each time, the same old thoughts generate the same old emotions, and we say or do the same old things -- over and over and over again. Sounds tiresome, doesn't it?

If you actually assessed how much reacting habitually costs you in intellectual, emotional and physical energy, you'd stop right now. Today. There would be no habit to even break.

Consider your habits:

-What do you give yourself? -Where do you deprive yourself? -How do you use food, alcohol, sex and money in your life? -What are your emotions of choice? -What are your default reactions? -What assumptions do you make? -How often do you make fear-based decisions? -How often do you make decisions based in joy?

Which of your habits are knee-jerk responses? When you're in seemingly identical circumstances, do you react in identical ways without stopping to notice if the situation is actually the same? For example, is your response to a potential conflict to run and hide under the nearest barrel? (If it smells like conflict, looks like conflict ...it must be conflict). Do you react to stress with a sprint for the closest candy bar?

Unconscious, habitual responses stop us from acknowledging and honoring what we really think, feel and believe. They keep us from feeling uncomfortable, or as mad, sad, bad or glad as we probably do. They are effective avoidance techniques.

Instead try to form healthy habits like exercise, meditation, honoring your feelings and taking good care of yourself. The level of consciousness is what distinguishes these habits from the "knee-jerk" habits. Once exercise becomes a firmly formed habit in your life, you can't do it unconsciously. You still have to pack up your gym clothes and water bottle and drive to the gym or tie on your tennis shoes and go out for a run. And after a while, certain positive habits do become automatic, but don't mask thoughts, feelings and desires.

A note of caution: Watch out for healthy habits that become a "should." If taking good care of yourself becomes a "should," it might become fear-driven rather than motivated by the desire to give yourself what you deserve.

It's helpful to remember that everything you do is for a reason. You reengage in your habits repeatedly because you get something out of doing it -- pleasure, pain, health, avoidance, repression, expression. We all do. Rather than being hard on yourself because you didn't go the gym again, ask yourself what you got out of staying home. Do you get to keep a comfortable identity -- even if it's not the one you want?

Look deeply at your habits and you'll find new information about yourself. Look at the habits that you like and the habits that you don't; you'll find where you're stuck, what you're avoiding, what energizes you, and what you value. What could be better?

Starting today, form a new habit of examining your habits and you'll be surprised at what you uncover -- and discover -- about yourself. <bio>Claudette Rowley is a professional coach, speaker and author who helps savvy professionals like you identify their true purpose and calling and mobilize the courage to pursue it.
Those that are very successful often engage in specific habits that help and encourage this success. There are 5 specific habits that are important and should be practiced by all salespeople that want to be highly successful.

First, time management is essential. Salespeople that cannot manage their time do not have many clients, and they have a difficult time keeping the clients that they do have. This is largely because they are late on deadlines, forget <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/appointments" rel="tag">appointments, and have other difficulties that are problematic. In order to have one of the 5 habits of highly successful salespeople, they must be more time-conscious and organized. A good way to do this is to effectively use assistants and processes to determine which activities you should be doing and which you should not be doing. Top salespeople do revenue generating activities, while struggling salespeople generally do not.

Second, another of the 5 habits of highly successful salespeople is the ability to multi-task. While this can be considered part of time management by some people, others do not see it that way. Instead, they see it as a vital and separate category when considering what habits salespeople need to be highly successful. Salespeople that can multi-task are very good at planning their day, and they know what they must accomplish. They are able to work on multiple projects and consistently finish on or before their deadlines. With most top salespeople, they do not let the events of the day dictate what they do that day. Top salepeople know that if they don't value their time, nobody else will, and that's why they protect it and guard it. Nobody can see them without an appointment and that keeps them from being too reactive to be proactive.

Third, highly successful salespeople must be personable and friendly. It is one of the 5 important habits that they should have. When people are unfriendly, they make others uncomfortable. Customers do not like to be made to feel as though they are inconveniencing a salesperson by asking questions or requesting information. When highly successful salespeople talk to potential customers, they talk to them as friends. While it's not necessary that you actually are friends with a customer, you want to create that bond that is past just business partners.

Fourth, highly successful salespeople understand that one of the most important of the 5 habits is to present a professional appearance. Blue jeans that are faded, wrinkled shirts, and unkempt hair will not inspire confidence in a potential customer. Instead, successful salespeople should dress appropriately, take care of the way they look, and make an effort to be well-groomed, clean, and hygienic.

Fifth, it is important to smile. This sounds trite and trivial, but it is actually very important. Probably the most important of the 5 habits of highly successful salespeople is to remember to smile and appear happy. Any problems a salesperson is having are not the customers' problems, and should be kept out of the conversation. Indicating that you are happy and smiling makes others around you feel better as well. <bio>Dave Roth runs http://www.elitecrmsoftware.com which is a site that reviews popular CRM Software solutions for both small and large companies.
Ever made a New Year's Resolution only to be disappointed in yourself and back to your old habits by February? We've all been there!

We make a pact with ourselves to live a healthy lifestyle because we know that good eating habits will enhance our lives. Nobody doubts the ability of healthy eating habits to improve our health but not many have the will power to make the changes needed to create a new lifestyle unless they have help.

You can change your eating habits and have a healthier lifestyle without having to wreck your social status or have your friends turn and run. The biggest reason why people fail and don't stick to this New Year's resolution is that they expect to change overnight and become perfect. If you set your goals to high and make unrealistic expectations, you are setting yourself up to fail.

Here are some practice tips for eating healthy and forming good eating habits:

1. Tell Your Family and Friends

Plan a family night of making smoothies and let everyone know they are in for a fun night. Let them know why you are doing this. Tell them that everyone needs to have more fruits and vegetables in their diets. This will get everyone involved in a whole lifestyle change.

Don't try doing it alone because you feel if you tell and then do your late night run to McDonald's they will consider you to be a failure. You just might be pleased and surprised. Your family and friends will have respect for what you are working to accomplish and will be able to support you and hold you accountable.

Maybe get your husband to start doing the grocery shopping and have children start dinner - Miracles do happen.

2. Do everything you can to avoid the fast food restaurants in the beginning. It starts with small steps and the first one you may need to do is start cooking meals at home instead of resorting to a fast food restaurant. If we do go out to eat, we can make healthier choices from the menu.

It is very important when you make the decision to eat with health in mind that you avoid your triggers.

It is nearly impossible to change your eating habits when you visit a fast food joint often. The smell, the golden arches are all triggers that will dissolve your resolution to eat healthier. It is not a lack of will power that drives you to order a "Big Mac" and fries, much of the taste and aroma of American fast foods are chemically manufactured to elicit both emotional and physical responses.

Even just getting a smell of a McDonald's burger causes you to feel hunger even when you've just finished eating. Everything that's gone into their advertising is designed to make you associate the fast food with good times and great eating.

3. Take Small Steps: Poor eating habits are just as much an addiction as smoking or drinking. It is pounded into our subconscious our entire lives, and we fight it everyday. It may be the lack of time, or the social value it promises without having to slave in the kitchen that drives us to eat this type of food, but we have developed these types of eating habits to make our lives easier. The reality is they do more harm than good.

Changing your eating habits doesn't have to mean you have to give up everything you love, or that you need to do all or nothing. The best we can do is to take a slow, steady approach to revamping our eating habits. Little steps that we can follow everyday. Sometimes small substitutions of healthy foods for those we know are unhealthy add up to a good start toward health. <bio>Start forming healthy eating habits today with the help of our healthy menu planner at http://www.healthymenumailer.com Sign up for a free 7-day trial and see for yourself how delicious healthy food can be. </bio>

If bad habits or <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/addictions" rel="tag">addictions are beginning to play havoc with your relationship now is the time to stop, take account of your life, learn to realise what is most important and get the help you need to break bad habits for good.

Addictions and bad habits are psychological behaviours that control our lives. They are compulsive disorders which can come in many forms from gambling, shopping, alcohol, food, anything that becomes a continuous bad habit that you find hard or almost impossible to break.

Most people have an addiction of some kind that they find hard to break free from, one of mine was chocolate, I just craved it continuously and I rarely ate anything else. Eventually following professional warnings, I called a halt to it, broke the bad habit and learned how breaking free from an addiction positively changes your life.

Whatever your addiction, whether it be something annoying such as biting your nails or a bad habit with more serious consequences you can sort it out. You may not be able to tackle an addiction on your own, you might need some help along the way and some people my need more help than others but it is possible, with the right motivation to stop any bad habit dead in its tracks. If I could do it so can you.

Don't let addictions and general bad habits rule your life, if you do they will control your mind, your thoughts and your relationships, they can even control your finances, your health and your complete meaning to life. Don't just carry on assuming that you can't stop yourself and that they make no difference anyway, you can and they do.

If you are having difficulties and really can't break free on your own, get help, don't just throw money at it, don't just make aimless failing attempts. Hit it where it hurts, take targeted and controlled action that is guaranteed to work, get it right first time and walk away addiction and bad habit free for life.

Don't let addictions control your life, control your addictions, enjoy the benefits and addiction free relationship can bring and renewed meaning to your life. Addictions are just bad habits and any habit can be broken, if you choose to live with them it's your choice and if your relationship fails because of them it's your choice. Just ask yourself is the lack of effort really worth the long-term consequences! <bio>For more relationship advice visit my website: http://www.1st-4-relationships.com or to find out how to break any habit visit http://www.commonmarriageproblems.marriagehealth.com/Break_any_Habit.html </bio>

Would you like to know how to make losing weight, no matter how many pounds, as simple as <a href="http://www.artwoo.com/tag/brushing+your+teeth" rel="tag">brushing your teeth? When you wake up in the morning or go to bed at night, do you dread having to brush your teeth? I know when I was a little kid, I hated to have to brush my teeth, but now it is not something I even think about. I just do it.

Imagine if your weight loss and weight management could be just something you do naturally. Not something that stresses you out, gets you upset, and makes you complain, "Why are other people so lucky they don't have to deal with this?"

Let's face it, "having to lose a couple of pounds" whether it's a few of pounds or in the three digits, the process is not, "Yea, I won the lottery, what fun." Having to lose weight can easily become an overwhelming event that bothers you all the time, crumbles your self confidence, is dangerous to your health, and if that wasn't enough, it undermines your love life.

So, back to when I was a little one and brushing my teeth. I hated to brush my teeth, but then something changed. It wasn't until I gave up fighting against brushing my teeth and accepted that is a very important thing for me to do, that it all changed.

Very shortly after that decision, brushing my teeth became a habit that I did in the morning and at night without even thinking about it. The action of brushing my teeth didn't change, but my reaction to having to brush my teeth did and it made all the difference.

So, how does this apply to losing weight? What if there are three actions you can take that once they are made into habits, your weight loss will become natural and you wouldn't even have to think about? You will get to be the person that everyone else envies saying, "Why is it so easy for him/her to look so great?"

Would it be worth it to accept these three new actions into your life and make them habits, if they will guarantee effortless weight loss that you don't even have to think about?

How about if those actions also provide outstanding health?

I must warn you that there will be a level of discomfort in making these actions into habits, only because you are in the habit of not doing them. Normally, people mislabel this as hard, when in reality, it just feels different because it is new.

But feeling different is a good thing. That means you are changing and opening the doors to your new life. Are you ready to find out what those actions are? They are not earth shattering, but you can not get around them and until you accept them and turn them into habits, you will end up fighting natural laws and struggling the rest of your life.

Finally, those three actions are; consistent exercise, eating healthy, and reduction of stress. Simple? Yes, but stay with me here. Imagine if you did consistently take these three actions and they became habits. We are talking about taking the above actions without thinking and without feeling that you are getting deprived.

It's easy to say your weight loss would be effortless; however, the only real road blocks are turning those actions to habits. Unfortunately, we were not taught a systematic means to destroy old habits and build powerful new ones.

I invite you to stop the struggle of fighting against the natural laws of the human body. One way or another, it will all come back to consistent exercise, eating healthy and reduction of stress, to achieve lasting results. Turn those simple actions into habits and you will end your weight loss struggles forever. <bio>Fracka Future | Founder of Accountability Buddy Accountability Buddy is the ultimate tool for developing and conditioning new habits.
There are many conflicting theories as to what the experts consider to be healthy. There are multiple different approaches to living a healthy lifestyle. However, all healthy people do have one thing in common. They have formed positive habits that result in their optimum health level. Let's look at some of these habits a little closer.

Habit 1: Probably the most important habit that highly healthy people have developed is regular exercise. There are many different schools of thought on this subject as well. How much is enough? As a basic rule, any amount of exercise is better than none. Therefore, if you aren't currently exercising, start out lightly. Don't try to run the Boston Marathon tomorrow after reading this. No one wants to go to the gym for a grueling, four hour workout. Anyone can fit 20 minutes of exercise in, though. If you exercise for 20 minutes, at least 3-5 times per week, you'll be healthier than most of the population. If you can eventually bump that up to an hour per day you'll be doing great.

What type of exercise should you engage in? There are countless exercises that you can engage in that will greatly benefit you. Probably the most convenient forms are walking and jogging. You can do these two pretty much anywhere. Even if you don't have a treadmill, just go outside. Besides aerobic exercise, a weight training routine is ideal. Developing muscle helps boost your metabolism and keeps everything running smoothly.

Habit 2: Another factor to a healthy lifestyle is drinking water. This may seem simple, but it is so important. The benefits of drinking water have been proven time and time again. It keeps everything working properly and it actually makes you feel better. After you start exercising, you'll probably want to drink even more water. If you feel sluggish and tired all of the time, there's a good chance that you're dehydrated. Drinking six, eight-ounce glasses per day is great. These two habits are obvious, but two of the most important. <bio>Glyconutrients are one of the most important supplements you can use.
We are a product of what we repeatedly do. We are all going to have habits so I figure we might as well make them good ones.

If you sit on the couch and watch TV drinking beer and eating chips, it is obvious what the results are.

It is easier to substitute a habit than to stop one. The best way to stop a habit is to replace it with a better or healthier habit.

It is critical to recognize that we choose our habits, either consciously or unconsciously.

Habit #1

Have clear goals. The clearer you know where you want to go and what your goals are, the more likely you are to get there. Have a vision. Everything happens first in the mind.

Habit #2

Be a constant learner, change and evolve as required. This means attending seminars, reading, and listening to audiobooks. By making learning a habit, this could be one of your competitive advantages.

It is not only the strong that survive; it is the adapters that win.

Habit #3

Sense of urgency wins. Do it now; have a propensity for action; make decisions quickly. I have found in business that the successful people are those who have a huge sense of urgency. They always want to get it done sooner and now cultivates the habit of doing it now.

Habit #4

Set a pace that you can maintain forever. Although I am a big believer in the sense of urgency, you need to figure out what gives you strength and energy and focus some time doing Stephen Covey's Seventh Habit that is sharpening the saw.

Habit #5

I like to have a number of success mantras; for example, "What the heck go for it anyways". I use this mantra whenever I am getting cold feet about doing something or need to negotiate something.

Another mantra that I use is, "Successful people do tough things". I repeat this to myself when I am doing something that I consider to be difficult like getting up at 4:30 a.m. to catch a flight.

Habit #6

Be Fit. I am a firm believer that fitness gives energy and energy is what allows us to get things done.

Fitness in itself can involve a number of habits and is a key topic in itself. What are your fitness habits?

Habit #7

Study time management. OK - a plug for my eBook, book and CD.

We all have the same amount of time; it is a matter of how we use it and how much we get done.

Habit #8

Nurture a network. I am constantly adding to my address book, reviewing it, keeping in touch with people and trying to add value to them. The more I nurture this network, the more I get things done.

Habit #9

Fail often, fail fast, fail cheap. In order to move forward, sometimes we have to fail. Don't let failure stand in the way of trying to move forward. You are not a failure if you fail; you are a failure if you don=E2=80=99t try.

Think about and decide what your success habits will be. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. <bio>Jim Estill is CEO of SYNNEX Canada. He started his business from the trunk of his car and now runs a company with sales over a billion dollars.
If you personally make the choice that you are going to drink alcohol, whether on a regular basis or occasionally, you need to be sure that you always drink responsibly. There are a variety of different habits that you need to get into if you are going to drink in a responsible manner. Remember that you will be held responsible for your actions, whether you were drinking or not, so it is important that you only drink in a responsible manner. The following are a few tips that can help you with responsible drinking habits.

1. Only Drink When YOU Want To It may be easy for you to be pressured into drinking alcohol by friends, but you should only drink whenever you feel like you want to. If you are not comfortable drinking in a certain environment, or you are just not in the mood to drink, stick to how you feel and do not let others dictate when and where you drink.

2. Know When To Stop If you decide to drink alcohol, you need to be responsible enough to know when you need to stop drinking. If you want to test your limits, make sure you do it at home with someone you trust so you can get an idea of when you should stop before you become out of control and unaware. Many people find that drinking any more than one drink in an hour can cause problems. 3. Drink Slowly If you are going to drink responsibly you need to be sure that you drink slowly. People get drunk quickly when they gulp down drinks and do not realize how much they are consuming. Take the time to enjoy what you are drinking and focus on the wonderful flavors instead of drinking a large quantity quickly.

4. Double Fist Your Drinks If you are drinking an alcoholic beverage it is a great idea to have a glass of water there as well and drink the two together. Drinking the water in between sips of your alcohol can help to keep the concentration of the alcohol down in your blood stream. You are also less likely to have a hangover the next day if you keep hydrated as well.

5. Designate a Driver If you are going out and plan on drinking, always make sure that someone is designated to drive and that they have no alcohol whatsoever. If there is no designated driver, you should be the responsible one and abstain from drinking. Remember that driving under the influence, no matter how little, can kill.

Having responsible drinking habits is very important if you are planning to consume alcohol. Being responsible while drinking can keep you healthy, keep you out of embarrassing situations, and most important of all - it can save your life. <bio>Learn how to have your own power hour using one minute clips of popular music videos at http://www.powerhouronline.com </bio>

People today are highly concerned with their bodies and their health so it is no surprise that more and more people are hiring personal trainers to help them lose weight and get in shape. For the most part, this is a good thing. It's great to see people taking a positive step towards weight loss and a healthy future.

However, do you really need a trainer? There are some people out there that can greatly benefit from the regular expertise of a personal trainer. There are many other people who could likely do it just fine on their own if they would only set their mind to it. The trainer merely serves as a person to answer to; the person you are paying to kick you in the tushie when you don't get moving!

It's true that your trainer knows a lot about helping you get in shape and lose weight to be a healthier and more beautiful you. So what are some big secrets your trainer doesn't want you to know?

1. You don't have to "feel the burn". We've all heard the phrase "no pain, no gain". You may have even chanted it a few times yourself during your workout but one thing your trainer might not want you to know is that working harder and pushing further won't help you lose weight if you are injured. Remember, for beginners, slow and steady wins the race!

2. You do not have to give up junk food entirely. Trainers have a habit of blacklisting certain foods that just might happen to be your favorite. There is good reason for this. Most people that are overweight may already have a problem with saying no to food. However, cutting out a favorite treat altogether can lead to serious cravings and secret binges. It's okay to have a little chocolate or a soda now and then =96 just learn how to pace yourself and keep it to a minimum. Be sure you never use the food item as a "reward". (As a side note, in most states, trainers cannot give nutritional advice unless they are a registered dietician.)

3. You don't need a routine to burn calories. Trainers train you to focus on a set, regular weight loss and exercise routine because that is the best way to get you in the habit of exercising and to push you to do what you need to do to burn calories. However, you can just as easily burn calories and get the exercise you need in your regular daily activities. There are many healthy habits that can be incorporated into your daily activity that do not require a gym, or a trainer.

4. Losing weight is often simply about forming better habits. You need better and healthier eating habits, sleeping habits and exercise habits. Forming these habits will help you lose weight and keep it off- without needing a trainer!

If you are using a trainer, keep in mind that you should feel comfortable with the trainer that you are working with. It should be someone not only knowledgeable but also someone that cares about you and your needs. Remember, you should work together as a team with your health as the common goal. <bio>Brad Howard knows "The Secret". It's what keeps many personal trainers in business, especially the bad ones. Can you guess what it is?
Is your dog not behaving? Does your loving pooch have a tendency to jump up on visitors as his way of welcoming them? Are bathroom accidents becoming more frequent from your beloved dog? If you answer yes to any of these questions, a dog trainer may be just what you and your dog need. By all means, do not get rid of your loving dog, hire a trainer and get rid of the bad habits.

Dog trainers specialize in removing the bad habits from dogs. Whether you have an inside or an outside pooch, a trainer will be able to help you. When you speak to your trainer about training your dog, be sure and let him know just exactly what the bad habits are your dog has, that need breaking. Tell your trainer your dog is uncontrollable when you take him for a walk, and that he is overbearing in a welcoming sort of way, to guest that visit your home. Do not forget to tell them about the bathroom accidents either. Do not worry, your trainer will not think of you as a bad pet owner, but rather as one that needs help. That is what trainers are for, to help.

Having your dog trained will make you and him happier. As well as your guest that are frequently jumped on and greeted with an innocent sloppy wet tongue. Once your dog has had a training session with the dog trainer, the trainer will tell you about the new commands and things your dog has learned. Be sure to ask any questions you might have, and take notes on what the trainer tells you, so that you do not have a confused pooch later. Hopefully you can find a trainer that works with you and your dog once he is trained. Ensuring that you know what commands are for what, and when he deserves a doggie treat.

Where are you going to find a dog trainer? Ask around at the veterinarian's office when you take your dog in for check up. Notice the well behaved dogs, and be sure to ask their owners if they used a trainer and how you can contact them. Your veterinarian may even have a recommendation himself. <bio>Article by Jayden Harris owner of Free Dog Trainer Info. Join our newsletter and get free training secrets.
How many of you have a garden in your backyard where you grow your favorite vegetables. You plant them from seeds or seedlings and give them everything they need in order to grow and thrive. You water, fertilize and provide adequate sun. After several months they grow to be big and strong. You run out to pick them daily as they ripen and think to your self. " I grew these and they taste so good."

What happens though if you plant your vegetables and forget about them? WEEDS! That's right your garden now begins to become overtaken by nasty weeds and other plants you have no idea what they may be. Your precious vegetables start to have problems thriving and eventually die or produce fruit you have no desire to eat.

Your garden is like your mind. When you are a child you are given the proper care and nurturing by you parents to give you good habits, a good education and the tools you need to succeed and grow up strong and confident.

What happens along the way is kind of sad. You are exposed to weeds. Just like your garden. Bad influences in your life sometimes become planted in your mind if you can not fight them off. Things such as smoking, nail biting, procrastination, having a bad temper, being lazy, using drugs or being overweight. Theses are only a few of the many habits or should we say weeds, which your mind is susceptible too.

With all these negative influences one might think that there in no chance of changing habits or negative behavior. Well, This is not the case. The mind is a very strong. In fact what you say and think about yourself does come true. If you believe that you want to change your mind will follow. Once your subconscious is reprogrammed the negative things or weeds will be replaced with positive thoughts and behaviors. The unconscious labels we have created for ourselves are changed releasing us from our old behavior patterns or habits. As we remove the old labels new positive ones are created leaving us feeling better about ourselves and what we have accomplished.

Just like the happy, joyful feeling you have while eating the big juicy red tomato from your garden, which you worked so hard on. You will feel ecstatic and excited that you changed the behaviors you disliked about yourself. That feeling can not be matched by any other, The feeling that you are in control. <bio>Seth Francis is the owner of http://www.breakyourhabits.com.. While the smell of vegetables cooking might invoke a negative memory of having to finish their plate of vegetables before getting dessert.

Bribing a child to eat nutriously is a short term strategy that will generally backfire. In a study published in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association, Dr Fisher made a direct link to the eating patterns of children and their parents.

Dr. Fisher and her researchers made some startling discoveries surrounding the eating habits of children. The children of caregivers who ate lots of fruits and vegetables in turn had children who also ate the same types of foods. Alternatively, caregivers who only encouraged healthy eating but led an unhealthy eating lifestyle, had children who ate low amounts of fruits and vegetables.

Children will like and react to the power of influence.
