A house, a car, furniture, etc. are all items that you can buy on credit. Many of these things are not available to someone who has bad credit. Bad credit might not remove the ability to buy an item, but sometimes it will cause that item to be quite a bit more expensive. The worst mistake that a person can make financially is to have bad credit. Credit is a very delicate thing, because only a few mistakes can make a credit score bad. Good credit takes hard work and a sequence of events that prove a person can be trusted with credit. Bad credit only takes a few mistakes and a person can be hurt for a lifetime.

The quickest way to turn a person's credit bad is not making payments on time, or not at all. One or two late payments will not automatically turn a person's credit bad, but anymore than two and a person's credit score will start to slip rapidly. Another way to lower a credit score is to request a large amount of credit in a short period of time. Creditors get shy to give credit when someone is amassing a large amount of credit in a short period of time.

Credit scores are based on a scale from 300 to 850. An excellent credit score is any score over 750. A very good credit score is 720 or more. An acceptable credit score is 660 to 720. A bad credit score is anything less than 660. To illustrate how badly a missed payment can affect your credit score, one missed payment can drop a person's credit score anywhere from 50 to 100 points. Your credit score is based on a number of criteria that include 35% on your payment history, 30% on the amount you currently owe, 15% on the length of your credit history, 10% on the number of new credit accounts you have opened or applied for, and 10% on the mix of credit accounts you have. The only good thing about having bad credit is that you can fix your score over time by practicing good credit habits. <bio>Visit Bad Credit Help for more resources and help with your credit. http://www.badcrediting.com/ </bio>

If you find yourself in this position, it's actually quite simple to rebuild your credit rating with bad credit credit cards.

Bad credit credit cards are offered by companies for a very good reason, money. These companies often charge outrageous interest rates and fees to cardholders in return for a credit line.

So does this mean that you shouldn't apply for a bad credit card? Absolutely not.

These cards, if used responsibly, can help you reestablish a history of making payments and boost your credit card history. Just remember that the fees can really add up, so avoid carrying a large balance from month to month.

There are other options available to those with bad credit such as prepaid credit cards and secured creditcards. As with bad credit credit cards, these are more expensive to the cardholder than traditional cards but they can help improve your credit rating and offer you the convenience of carrying a credit card, despite the fact that your credit history is blemished.

If you have fallen on hard times and have messed up your credit history, it's not the end of the world. Using methods such as these can help you restore your credit history over time and get you back on track with the credit bureaus.

Sure, you're going to pay a price for getting a second chance with higher than normal fees. However, if you're careful by limiting your spending and paying off your outstanding credit card balances each month, the high interest won't be a factor for you.

Hopefully this article has given you some ideas for ways to rebuild your credit with bad credit credit cards. Used wisely, these cards can be a great way to get back into good standing with the credit card agencies. <bio>To learn more, visit the Credit Card Forum at http://www.TheCreditCardForums.com/ today.
Although they can be painful at times, life today without the ease of a credit card is no longer a reality. So, if you think you want a credit card, here are some essential factors you'll need to consider when applying for a credit card:

Your Credit History

One of the most essential elements to applying for a credit card is what you current credit history is.

* If you have a bad credit history, then it is going to be much harder applying for a credit card. * If you have a good credit history, then it is going to be much easier applying for a credit card. * If you have no credit history, then you may well need to create a credit history, by having a loan or hire-purchase agreement, before you can apply for a credit card.

If you're in any doubt what your credit history may be, then you should apply for a copy of your credit history. You can do this by applying for a copy of your credit history from a credit reference agency -- who may charge you a small sum for providing this to you.

Credit Card Limit

Having discovered that you have a good enough credit history to apply for a credit card, the next thing you need to do is to decide on how much of a credit line you want to apply for. Normally, what your income is will decided this -- but sometime your savings can also be important.

Depending on what your income and savings are, you can then apply for a regular credit card, gold credit card, or platinum credit card.

Submitting Your Credit Card Application Form

You now need to go through the process of choosing which credit provider meets your needs. Once you have done this, you can then submit an application to that credit card company.

Once the credit card company you have applied to has reviewed your application form, they'll either approve your application or ask you to comply with certain conditions. The type of conditions they may ask you to comply with include asking you to have some money on a deposit account with them.

Credit Card Application Is Refused

If your application for a credit card is refused, you must ask why. If you don't, you'll never know whether the application has been refused because you failed the credit rating test or because you completed the application form wrong!

If you failed the credit rating test, then you know you need to apply for a credit card with another credit card provider. However, if it is because you filled in the form wrong, you can still reapplying using a correctly completed application form. So don't be shy to ask "why?" if the credit card provider tells you that you failed in your credit card application! <bio>Joe Kenny writes for the credit card comparison sites http://www.creditcards121.com and also http://www.cardguide.co.uk </bio>

If you have bad credit, you may be under the impression that you are not able to apply for a credit card. While it is true that you may be rejected from getting certain credit cards or loans, there are options available for those who have bad credit. Since a sizeable percentage of the population has bad credit, this has created a market which many banks and credit card companies have tapped into.

Your credit report is a reflection of your credit history, and it is very important when you need to apply for a car or mortgage. There may be situations where you will need a credit card to complete a certain transaction, and if you have bad credit you will run into problems. There are a number of options available for those with bad credit who want cards. Secured credit cards are one good option. A secured credit card allows you to deposit money into the account which you can then use.

Instead of borrowing money from the credit card company, you use your own money. You will not be allowed to go over the amount you place on the card. Despite this, you may have to pay the credit card company a fee in order to use their cards, and this is how their money is made. A secured credit card can be used to make any of the purchases you can make with a unsecured credit card. A prepaid debit card is another option that is used by people who have less than perfect credit.

If you are a student in college, an option may be available for you called a secured student credit card. These cards will allow students to begin building their credit while they're still in school. Students who use these cards are prevented from going over their limit because they can only spend money which they've placed on the cards. It is important to remember that you won't get the best deals or rates if your credit is poor. However, we live in an electronic age, and it is difficult to conduct many transactions without having either a debit or credit card.

Secured credit cards are a great way to allow you to make transactions while you continue to rebuild your credit. If you work hard to repair your credit, you won't be in debt forever, and using these cards will allow you to easily make electronic transactions. <bio>Joe Kenny writes the credit card comparison sites http://www.creditcards121.com http://www.cardguide.co.uk </bio>

Having no credit doesn't have to keep consumers from getting a credit card. There are several options for consumers with no credit to get a credit card.

It's becoming increasingly difficult to function in today's society without having credit. However, when you don't have credit it can also be complicated to obtain a credit card. Credit card companies need to check your credit history to determine whether they should extend credit to you. When you do not have a credit history, the credit card companies have no way of knowing if you are a credit risk. Even when you don't have a credit history, there are some ways you can obtain a credit card.

The bank or credit union where you have your savings or checking account is a good place to go to apply for a credit card when you do not have established credit. If you have income and have not bounced any checks, you have an excellent chance at getting a credit card from your bank. Since you do not have credit history, you will most likely start out with a low credit limit. Once you begin to make purchases with your credit card and make timely monthly payments, you can negotiate a credit limit increase if your card issuer does not give you one automatically.

If you are not able to get a credit card from your bank, you have other options. Store credit cards and gas credit cards are much easier to obtain than some other credit cards. Again, you will not start out with a very high credit limit, but if you make your payments on time, card issuers will increase your credit limit.

A secured credit card is another option for consumers that do not have credit established. When you have a secured credit card (http://www.securedcardsmall.com/), you make a deposit into a savings account. The amount of your deposit will dictate your credit limit. Since you have made a deposit against the credit card, the creditor does not have any reason to deem you as a risk. In the event that you do not pay your credit card bill, the creditor uses the amount of your deposit to pay the credit card balance.

Many credit card issuers offer the option to upgrade a secured credit card to an unsecured one after a certain period of time. If you go the route of a secured credit card, one that can be upgraded is a better choice than one that cannot. You should also find out how the credit card is reported to credit bureaus. Some secured credit card issuers report the credit card as being a secured credit card which can raise a red flag in the eyes of future credit. When you choose a secured credit card make sure it is one that reports as if it were an unsecured credit card. <bio>Fruzsina Csery is a freelance copy writer.
A bad credit credit card is a phrase which describes credit cards issued to individuals with bad credit ratings. "Bad credit credit cards" provide a chance for people with less than perfect credit to obtain a credit line and possibly improve their credit rating. Although these creditcards will carry rather "unfriendly" terms such as higher than normal interest rates, they give those with a poor credit history an opportunity to take advantage of the convenience that credit cards offer.

Another term that is sometimes used to describe bad credit creditcards is "secured credit cards". Secured creditcards require users to deposit cash into their account prior to using the account. Doing so allows these customers to develop a history of responsible credit card use with the issuer.

If you're interested in applying for a bad credit credit card, there are many choices available. When you begin comparing different credit card offers for those with poor credit history, there are 3 factors that you should really take into consideration before submitting your application.

1. What type of credit limit you can realistically expect from the credit card issuer

2. What fees are imposed on cardholders and the interest rate you'll be charged when carrying a balance

3. What is the minimum balance (if any) that you'll be expected to keep on deposit with the card issuer

Bad credit credit cards are an excellent way for those with poor credit ratings to get back on track. If you apply for one of these creditcards, remember to use it responsibly and avoid misusing your newly acquired line of credit. Credit cards, when used responsibly of course, can be extremely convenient and provide a safety net in the event that emergency funds are needed. Unfortunately, many people abuse their cards and wind up deep in debt with a ruined credit rating. <bio>For bad credit credit card reviews, visit the Credit Card Forum at http://www.TheCreditCardForums.com/ today. Most creditors want to see a solid credit history before they give you a loan. They seem to be as clueless as I am as to how to get a credit history. After all, how do you get a credit history when you have to have one to get credit? Duh!

As frustrating as it can be for a young person, there are a few ways to get some credit history, to at least give you a little something to show the bank.

Co-signer The easiest way to get started with credit is to get a parent, grandparent, etc. to co-sign a loan for you, usually a car loan. However, for some of us, that is not an option for one reason or another. Another option you can consider is a co-signed credit card. Just be sure that you pay your bills on time, or you'll just get yourself a bad credit history and be in worse shape than when you started!

Secured Credit Card You can also get a secured credit card. You would make a deposit of perhaps $500 to the issuing bank. They would then issue you a credit card with a $500 limit. That protects them, and will give you a credit history. A word of warning -- the leading bank that issues secured credit cards has a very bad record with the Better Business Bureau, so check out the bank first!

Secured Loan You can also get a small secured loan. You deposit $1,000 with the bank as collateral, and they loan you $1,000. This is really pointless, except it does give you a credit history.

Lastly, once you get some credit history, keep in mind that you may be able to get a fuel card or department store card before you can get a credit card. Check and see if the fuel / dept store card will report to the credit agencies and help improve your credit history.

One final tip -- if you're buying a car and need a car loan, a good salesman will help you get a loan. That's actually how I got mine -- along with a large down payment and a co-signature. <bio>For more great resources on credit and financing, visit the Money Forum: http://www.gotalkmoney.com </bio>

When people get credit cards, many think that they can purchase anything they want practically for free, that they can just "charge it on the credit card" and worry about paying it later. However, these same people often spend their paychecks recklessly on everyday items and are not able to pay their regular bills, so they now have to think of how to manage their credit cards after bankruptcy.

Monetary Caution is Needed with Credit Cards After Bankruptcy

The first thing that people should do with their credit cards after bankruptcy is evaluate how many they really should have in the first place. While some people carry many credit cards, it is a good idea not to have more than two. Thus, aside from two, people should get rid of their lesser important credit cards after bankruptcy.

Of course, before getting rid of the credit cards after bankruptcy, there is the issue of being able to actually pay them off beforehand. It all has to do with the credit that the person has at the time. For example, if the person has good credit, then the credit card company might set up some sort of a payment plan to help the person pay off their debt.

However, if the person has horrible credit (after getting a credit card, since a person needs to be pre-approved to get one in the first place) then the credit card company might treat the bankruptcy situation differently. In this case, you will need to call the customer service of each credit card company and enquire about their payment options.

When it comes to consolidating your credit cards after bankruptcy, the best way to do that is to take the credit cards that have the most money on them and pay them off little by little until there is not debt on them. Next, take the credit cards that were not used at all (if applicable) and pay them off right away. It is best to focus on the higher-debt credit cards.

Making sure that your credit cards are still usable after your bankruptcy is something that you will have to find out, as it is determined by each person's unique situation. It is important to realize that you might need a financial planner to help get you out of debt. With the proper planning, you are sure to figure out the right ways to spend your money. <bio>Simon Peters is the owner of http://on-bankruptcy.com, it is THE best source for advice on the subject on bankruptcy, nothing to sell, just information . .. . </bio>

Who wouldn't like a higher credit limit on their credit card? This is because almost everyone I know loves shopping, and a higher credit limit means you can do more shopping. This especially true for those higher priced items you can't normally afford on your own.

However a higher credit limit also calls for a higher sense of responsibility, because you can bring bigger debt on yourself. It doesn't mean just because you have a higher credit limit you should spend your credit on everything you see. If you are the type of person who can handle the responsibility of a higher credit limit there are some steps you can take to get one.

A good way to increase the credit limit of your credit card is to ensure that you always follow the terms and conditions of the institution which issued your credit card. This will ensure that you have a good credit rating and will come in handy when you want to raise your limit.

If you can show the issuer of your credit card that you are a responsible person when it comes to money they will find it hard to refuse you. They also know that if they treat you well you may bring other potential clients their way. And as we all know, birds of a feather flock together. So when you are responsible, your friends are likely to be responsible too. This in turn means that your credit card company would be eager to please you, if you do your part.

Here is one other thing to remember. It is a great thing to have a higher credit limit, but the higher limit may come with higher interest rate payments as well as other fees that may be added.

So although your credit card limit may have been raised, you may now have to pay more, which may mean that you may be left with a little less. But that's a choice you'll have to make for yourself. If you think a higher limit is what you need and you can be responsible with this higher spending power, then, by all means go for it. <bio>For more information on credit cards, including how to find the best deals please visit http://www.credit-card-centre.com now. </bio>

Credit cards are considered as one of the necessities in today's life. Besides, with a credit card, you can literally purchase any product or services without having money in your pocket at all. No longer will you run the risk of getting your money stolen by simply having a credit card.

However, with all the advantages that a credit card can give you, you will find that it is quite difficult to apply for a credit card and getting approved. There are a lot of things you have to consider before a credit card issuer or a bank can get you approved for a credit card.

The first thing you need to know and need to have when applying for a credit card is a good credit rating. Your credit rating is one of the essentials that a credit card issuer or a bank will look at in order to get you approved for a credit card. By having a good credit rating, you will be sure that you can get yourself approved.

However, if you don't have any credit history or a bad credit rating it will relatively be hard or even impossible for you to get approved for a credit card. In order to obtain a credit history or repair your credit rating, you can always apply for a secured credit card.

Unlike an unsecured credit card, it will require you to deposit money on an account. The amount you deposit will be the credit limit for a secured credit card. You will also receive a monthly billing statement like an unsecured credit card.

You have to remember that a prepaid credit card and a debit card are different from a secured credit card. Debit card and prepaid credit cards will never repair or build your credit rating.

One main disadvantage of a secured credit card is that it will usually have a high interest rate than most unsecured credit cards. However, it is also a great way to control your credit card purchases. It is also a great way for you to become a responsible credit card holder and help you prepare to own an unsecured credit card.

Not only that, it will also help you build a good credit rating or help you repair a bad credit rating. With this kind of feature, you will definitely get yourself prepared to own an unsecured credit card.

Owning a credit card will also mean being more responsible for your purchases. With a secured credit card, you can train yourself to be a more responsible credit card holder. This is because, aside from the advantages that an unsecured credit card can give you, there are some people that buy irresponsibly. The feature that a credit card offers will usually tempt people to buy things that they don't really need and will often result in getting into huge amounts of credit card debt.

By first getting an unsecured credit card, you will be sure that you can be a more responsible credit card holder.

So, if you want to apply for an unsecured credit card, getting a secured credit card first is recommended if you don't know what you are getting into or if you want to build a credit history or repair your credit rating. <bio>Mario Churchill is a freelance author and has written over 200 articles on various subjects.
If you have bad credit, your credit card options are limited. Aside from many credit card companies denying your application, individuals with bad credit usually receive very low credit limits and additional fees.

When applying for a credit card, choosing the right card is essential. Here are a few tips to consider when selecting a credit card.

Take Advantage of Bad Credit Credit Cards

Before applying for a major credit card with a bank, carefully consider your credit rating. Credit card inquiries will decrease your credit score. Thus, avoiding too many inquiries is important. To do so, limit the number of times you apply for credit. Rather, choose one or two companies that are likely to approve your application.

For example, if your credit rating is bad, it's realistic to assume that the odds of getting approved are slim. With this said, it helps to research bad credit credit cards. Several companies issue unsecured and secured credit cards to people with bad credit. This is a great way to improve credit rating and re-establish a good credit history.

Criteria for Choosing a Bad Credit Credit Card

Although bad credit will stand in the way of obtaining low rates on a credit card, researching various companies and comparing offers is smart. Many credit card companies make claims of offering bad credit credit cards to help individuals improve their credit. However, some companies use this as the perfect opportunity to take advantage of people like you.

Before applying for a bad credit credit card, read the fine print for information pertaining to user fees. If choosing a secured card, you likely need to open a savings account and deposit at least $200. This deposit serves as collateral. Because your credit limit is the same as the deposit, if you refuse to pay the credit card, the lender simply claims your money.

In addition to opening a savings account, most secured bad credit credit cards have several upfront or startup fees. This might include a $50 annual fee, $10 monthly service fee, and $20 startup fee. Thus, there is a balance on the credit card before you even receive it.

Unfortunately, extra fees on a bad credit credit card are unavoidable. However, by carefully researching different online credit card companies, it is possible to find a company with lower fees, and one that offers a lower interest rate. <bio>Try using http://www.abcloanguide.com for a list of Recommended Poor Credit Credit Card Companies online.
Using credit wisely can save you hundreds of thousands of dollars through the course of your life. It can help you to get and have more and it can act as a way of securing your financial future. If you have poor credit, you are not left out because you can improve your credit and begin using credit wisely to gain the same rewards. To help you, here are some strategies that you can follow to accomplish these goals.

* Using Credit: When you are using credit, it is important for you to not make purchases that are not necessary or that are not worth the cost. Remember, it is not only the cost that the sticker says, but the finance charges that go with you that you will pay. A great way to do this is to make a rule with yourself and your spouse called the 24 hour rule. If you want to make a single purchase over the cost of, say, $200, you need to wait a full 24 hours before making that purchase. This gives you time to really determine if it is a wise choice.

* Taking On Credit: Part of managing credit is not taking on more than you can handle safely. You should not have more credit than you make in a year. And, you should not keep opening new credit lines. It does make sense to open credit cards that have lower interest rates, but make sure to close other cards as well. Some mistakenly believe that having lots of credit is good, but the fact is that too much is a bad thing too.

* Stay On Top Of It All: When you begin to fall behind in your credit, make sure that you take your credit cards, stick them in the freezer or in the back of a drawer some place so that you can't use them. Make payments on time and pay them off each month. Never get stuck with late charges and fees.

While you should have some credit, only taking on what you can handle is a way of using credit wisely. And, in this world, you do need credit to purchase a home, to purchase a vehicle and to even get certain jobs. While you need it, you need to make sure you can handle credit. <bio>Michael Lewis is a contributing writer at http://www.debtandcredittips.com where you can find more articles about managing credit cards. </bio>

If you are trying to avoid a bad credit rating, one of the most important preventive steps you can take is to request and analyze your credit report. Credit reports summarize your credit history usually for the last seven years and are usually detailed with information about active credit cards you have, mortgages, and any other loans you have outstanding. Depending on the credit information that the credit bureau receives will determine your credit score

There are three large credit bureaus that compile lending information and calculate a score for each individual. The three credit bureau companies are Experian, Expedia and Trans Union. If you want to improve your credit rating or make sure credit score is accurate, it is important that you request a credit report from either one credit bureau or all three of them each year.

Most states have enacted legislation that enables an individual to request a free credit report each year. Other states may require you to pay a small fee, usually $10 or $15. Once you receive your credit report it is important for you to go over the report to make sure your credit rating is accurate. Most credit reports usually have an information booklet that goes over how to read your credit report and will list example reports for increased understanding. You can then view your credit report and make sure that the information is factual.

>From time to time, there may be discrepancies listed in the credit report. This may be due to inaccurate reporting, identity theft or fraud. If you analyze your report and notice a discrepancy it is important for you to contact the credit bureau immediately as well as the lender that has reported negatively to the bureau.

It is also important to analyze your credit report to determine if any credit cards or loans have been taken out without your knowledge, this usually points to identity theft or fraud. If you are looking to improve your credit rating or would like to protect yourself from theft and fraud, request a credit report annually and analyze it thoroughly. <bio>Connie Barker is the owner of several financial websites including http://www.badcreditloandirect.com/credit-report.html </bio>

One of the most important financial factors in our society is whether a person has good credit. Credit cards are not always easy to acquire when you have no credit history, many lenders will shy away from a person that has never had credit due to the fact that they don't know if you are responsible enough to pay off a credit card bill. The case is true as well for people that have had very bad credit in the past and now are finally done with their debts. Many people need credit cards to start growing their credit card rating again, but most banks don't want to take a chance. What can people do in these situations? The answer is simple- secured credit cards.

The overwhelming majority of credit cards are unsecured, this is why the banks charge lots of interest and default rates are very high. When a bank gives you a credit card for a certain amount, they do not request collateral. Unlike mortgages that keep homes as collateral or a car loan in which your car can be repossessed, credit card loans have limited recourse if you default on your debt. One of the ways to break through the barrier of getting a credit card is to secure your loan with the credit card issuer.

A secured credit card is a bank account that you set up with the credit card issuer. The bank then sends you a credit card. The bank will usually give you a credit limit amount of which you have deposited into your bank account with them. For instance, if you would like a $500 line of credit, deposit $500 in the account. This way, if you don't pay, they have your money and don't lose anything.

Secured credit cards make their money by having you pay certain fees each month or year and still collect interest from your purchases. While fees vary, remember you are paying a premium to either start off your credit history or begin a new chapter on your credit rating. <bio>Connie Barker is the owner of several financial websites including http://www.directcreditcardservices.com/secured-credit-cards.html </bio>

The question is which credit cards are right for you. Not all credit cards are the same. Some have a fixed rate, which simply means the APR doesn't change, or at least not that often. Most credit cards are open lines of credit, that you can use to make purchases. Most of them are unsecured, while a few are secured or prepaid. Prepaid credit cards are offered by a lot of major companies and act some what like a debit card, because you will need to open an account and your credit card will be funded by this account. These are great for people starting out with little or no credit or rebuilding credit. Low interest rate cards, are ideal for people with good credit that would like to take advantage of reduced interest rates. Some credit cards have an annual fee, while others do not. Some earn reward points. Store credit cards work similarly to regular credit cards, except there is no annual fee, and the card is only good for purchases at that particular store. These store cards are also effective at rebuilding credit.

You would be surprised at the overall number of people who just don't bother to compare credit cards before signing up for them. You should compare the different features, different benefits, and details of various credit cards. Find, compare, and read reviews before you decide. You wouldn't buy a car without comparing details or benefits, and you never buy a house without looking at several first. Just apply these same principles to credit cards.

Credit cards are convenient for customers and can be beneficial if used correctly. They are the perfect way to finance larger items while still earning points for everyday purchases. Just shop around first, and get the right credit card for you. <bio>PAT WOOD IS THE AUTHOR AND OWNER OF THE WEBSITE http://www.best-creditcards.info SHE HAS BEEN IN THE BANKING INDUSTRY SINCE 1987 AND HAS WRITTEN SEVERAL ARTICLES ON CREDIT AND DEBT </bio>

Many people just don't realize how valuable a good credit record is. If you look around, you will observe that most lending institutions require borrowers to have a high credit rating or a credit history which reflects your ability to pay your debts on time and without fail. People with good credit experience less difficulties in applying for housing or car loans, simply because their credit record is saying, "Trust this person".

The safest way to establish credit is through a credit card. If this is your first time to apply for one, then you are very lucky. There are a lot of credit card companies competing in the market today that can offer you low APRs, competitive interest rates and even payment terms that are easy on your pocket. For starters, you should try to apply for one credit card only. If you think about it, it is actually a smart decision. A single card is more manageable, simpler to track and most of all, easier to pay.

If you are still worried that you might not handle your credit card wisely and end up ruining the only chance you have to build a good credit record, then you should get a secured credit card.

These cards are perfect for first timers and even for people with bad credit record. A deposit will act as security just in case you get into some financial trouble and could not pay off your credit card bills. Treat it as a practice for the grown-up credit card. You will be able to gauge how well you handle your finances. If it does not work out, the deposit you made will pay off the debt you accumulated. But if it does, then your credit record is as good as established.

Visit http://10badcreditcards.com for a wide selection of secured, unsecured, prepaid and catalog credit cards. <bio>credit help and advice for people with bad credit. http://10badcreditcards.com/blog </bio>

It can be pretty tough when your credit is bad and it is next to impossible to get credit when you need it. Most major credit card companies will not talk to you, and a lender - well, forget about it. There is a way, though, out of the tough situation with a prepaid credit card. Here is what you can do with a prepaid credit card to help rebuild your credit score.

Need A Bad Credit Rating

One of the best things about a prepaid credit card is that it was designed for people with bad credit. In fact, that is one of the qualifications. There will not be any check on your credit rating, or your employment. Anyone can get one of these credit cards, but you will need to deposit a cash amount equal to the credit limit you want. This lets you know that it operates on a debit basis - no actual credit is given.

Get A Card That Reports To A Credit Bureau

Not many prepaid credit cards actually report to a credit bureau. That is, however, the kind of card that you want to get. While others make having cash handy, it really will not help you (or anyone with bad credit) in the long run.

Watch The Fees

Prepaid credit cards often come with a number of fees. You should compare one card with another in order to get the fewest fees. In order to get a prepaid credit card that reports to a credit bureau, you will probably have to pay an annual fee - could be as high as $100.

Look For Benefits

Most prepaid cards do not come with any benefits, but some do. You can get points, like on a regular credit card, that are useable for a few benefits - like free phone time, and more.

No Credit Card Abuse

Another good thing about these credit cards is that you can never go over your limit, or have to pay any late fees or interest. (Hey, this is sounding better all the time). This means that if it reports to a credit bureau, that it would be impossible to get a lower score than what you may already have with this kind of card.

Easily Put Cash On Your Card

Most prepaid cards will allow you to easily put credit on it from just about anywhere. You can even put your paycheck onto it by Direct Deposit.

Use It Like A Credit Card

A number of these prepaid credit cards can be used in the same way as a credit card. You can set up automatic bill payments, purchase things online, or over the phone. If you want this feature, however, be sure that the ad says that you can do this.

Like any other credit card, you will want to compare features and fees in order to find the best prepaid credit card for your needs. While most of them are similar, the fees vary widely. Since no qualifications are needed, why not get the best? <bio>Joe Kenny writes for the UK personal finance sites http://www.nationsfinance.co.uk/credit_cards/ and also http://www.cardguide.co.uk </bio>

There are good credit cards and then there are bad credit cards. While credit cards can be very beneficial to many consumers, some credit cards may not be for every type of consumer. Here are some tips on credit cards to avoid.

Usually secured credit cards are not for everyone. Secured credit cards are when you open a bank account and deposit money into it, in which the credit card will give you a specific limit for. Secured credit cards are great tools for people with no or poor credit history, but can be expensive and not practical for consumers with a solid credit history and good credit rating.

For people looking for reward credit card offers, make sure you read the fine print, rewards offers are not for everyone. You can spend lots of money chasing rewards that may be worthless, do some homework and realistically think if you will be using the card enough to qualify for valuable rewards.

Low introductory interest rate credit cards can be a disaster in disguise for some consumers. Many low introductory interest rate offers last for six months or one year, which is great, but once the time period has ended, the interest rates might rise suddenly. You can be stuck with lots of credit card debt and a high interest rate to boot.

Store credit cards can sometimes be cards to avoid as well. Store credit cards are usually only allowed to be used at certain stores, which is fine. However store credit cards can have high interest fees and you can usually purchase the same items with your own standard credit card with a lower fee.

Remember, if you are applying for a credit card, do your homework and think about how you will use it. Not all credit cards fit each person's specific situation and should be avoided. <bio>Connie Barker is the owner of several financial websites including http://www.directcreditcardservices.com/bad-credit-cards.html </bio>

Searching for your first credit card will only be hard if you make it that way. If you've been searching for a while and you're still confused about the credit cards themselves, this article will help you better understand some of the important questions most first time student appliers ask. Hopefully after this read, you'll understand the concept of student credit cards.

Below are some of the questions a lot of people ask when they are looking for their first credit card. Along with the questions, we have supplied a detailed answer so that you'll be able to find the perfect credit card that fits your needs.

How many credit cards will I need to build up my credit?

The credit building game can be very tough when you don't know anything about it. A lot of things affect your credit score such as debt to income ratio, your available credit, and so much more. When you start building credit, you're only going to need to have one credit card to do so. You won't need to apply for more than one credit card just to build your credit. If you hear anything else, it's just a myth.

How do I know what credit card to get?

This answer really relies on you. When you think of a first time credit card, you think that you're going to get a credit card that has no rewards at all. This is far from the truth! In fact, if you browse around and see what kind of credit cards there are to offer, you will see that there are many rewards ranging from gas rewards to cash back rewards, it's all up to you on what you want.

The easiest way to decide which credit card will best suit you is to sit back and see what you spend your money on. If you find yourself spending your money on automotive type purchases a lot, you may want to get a gas/auto related credit card that gives you the maximum benefits. Remember, you can make the most out of your credit card, just don't overdo it! If you spend more than what you make, obviously you're going to be headed down the wrong road.

Are credit cards really bad?

Credit cards are bad if you make them that way. If you're able to pay your bill off in time each month, you will be able to avoid those pesky APR charges. If you don't think you'll be responsible enough to pay off your bill each month then I'd say avoid them altogether! You have to remember that most of America doesn't know how to manage their money; this is what gives the credit card industry such a bad name. If you want to be in the minority, spend your money wisely and you'll be fine.

The questions could go on about credit cards and if you really want to get more answers, it's best that you do your research before you apply. With the proper research and responsibility, you'll be find with a credit card designed for a college student. <bio>Find student credit cards and more of Tom's work at http://www.findcollegecards.com </bio>
