There is nothing quite like it. You are out on a date, and suddenly both parties run out of things to say. The remainder of the date is a seemingly endless gauntlet of foiled conversation attempts and stretched out silences, and at the end of the night both of you know that you will probably never attempt a make up with that person.

Awkward silences can be a killer when it comes to dating; not only have you lost a prospective relationship, you have also wasted an evening. The great shame of it is, most dates have no reason at all for these awkward silences. There should always be something to talk about, and even the chronically shy can find some topic to keep the night proceeding smoothly.

The thing about a date is that it is no different than any other part of life. No matter what you are doing, there will be something to talk about. If you find yourself running out of conversation, then try to for an easy topic by focusing on the date itself- you might talk about the food or the scenery in a restaurant, your feelings on the movie you just saw. Once the conversation gets rolling, it will probably begin to stretch out into other areas and soon enough you will find that the evening is flying by. A great way to measure the quality of the conversation is by the amount of laughter between you. Laughter indicates a high level of comfort and enjoyment, so if you are both laughing chances are that the date is going well.

There are several things worse than awkward silences, if truth be told. A person trying too hard to overcome the silence may wind up making a serious ass out of herself. Know the difference between an awkward silence and a comfortable or reflective one. A reflective silence, following a particularly good point or part of the conversation, can be an even better indicator of the positive outcomes of the date than even laughter is.

Never break a silence by starting to talk about how wonderful you are. Feel free to begin by talking about yourself, but be sure to include your date in the topic- ask what he does for a living, if he enjoys it, what the future plans and goals are. This advice should be tripled for men- in fact, it is mostly guys that need to watch the silences on a date. If a girl is talking, then she is probably having a good time and the date will go down as a positive experience.

The key to avoiding an awkward date is to focus on your current conversations instead of thinking about the next topics. Avoid backtracking and keep the conversation moving forward. Above all, make sure that if you haven't heard your date say a word in a while, that you leave an opening in the conversation for her to respond. Good communication is the key to any relationship, short term or long, and it begins with good conversation. <bio>Porche Reingold maintains a website helping people with dating issues.
Teen dating is one of the most difficult procedures of teenage life. Social pressures surrounding it can be impossible to overcome, especially if you are a teen who is shy or awkward. Having an awkward personality is difficult to sidestep as a teen especially if you find that it follows you around like a shadow. Overcoming awkwardness is hard enough in school or work, but the difficulty and complications can be downright overwhelming when you are on a date.

This is not to say that all teen dating experiences will be disastrous or will contain incidents of major social faux pas. Often teen dating takes place without incident and the date goes on successfully to result in an incredible time for all participants. This requires the teen to be less awkward than most and to be as suave as James Bond times ten thousand. The hyperbole is not misplaced, either, as teens are some of the most scrutinized human beings on the face of the earth.

The perils of teen dating present challenges in front of teenagers that many simply are not equipped to face. Things like ordering food for a member of the opposite sex and pulling chairs out for your date are no longer commonplace, let alone in the world of teen dating. These are "musts", and should be encouraged among all teen daters so as to produce a positive experience. One of the most important things to remember is the notion of self-respect. In all things related to dating, do not forget to remember yourself and who you are when you are out on that date. It is easy to try to become another person to impress a date, but in the end what is respected above all else is someone who never abandons their principles or their ideologies just for a kiss or a snuggle. Remember to stand on your own two feet in the harsh, cold world of teen dating. <bio>Kerry Ng is a successful Webmaster and publisher of The Dating Blog.
First dates for some can be intimidating and stressful. Often, one's mind and emotions are overcome with insecurities and fears.

Conversation normally is a big factor for a positive date outcome as well as a great influence on the failure of your date.

Carrying a conversation during a first date can become difficult and uneasy at times, since you hardly know the individual you are dating (specially on a blind date), making it hard to open up and think of a certain topic to talk about and with slight tension and nervousness, things can be really awkward.

On dates, usually a person is scared of rejection and failure; thus is nervous and conscious on what to say. It has to be the right things; sparking his/her interests as the wrong words may either injure your date's feelings or make the conversation boring. This is because usually one is very concerned about one's impression that he/she is able to convey to his/her date.

One's apprehensions can lead to damaging results, usually paralyzing one's thoughts and emotions, thus inhibiting one's capability to behave confidently and normally like one would do when he is in the company of family and friends. As a result, one ends up in a very humiliating and embarrassing situation, which one describes in dating as "awkward silence".

Almost everyone is capable of carrying on an effortless, enjoyable and easy going conversation with individuals they are familiar with and therefore having the proper approach, so one can do it with the girl/guy on one's first date.

One solution here is to think ahead of time the things that you can open up or topics that can start a good conversation; ask a common friend of his/her interest, hobbies, sports, career, etc.

Another solution is to relax and be yourself; never pretend to be somebody that you are not. Keep in mind that it's no use when your date will like for putting up a front; it will be a great feeling to know that your date liked you for what you are.

Never brag, talking constantly of your awards and accomplishments as this would only set arrogant impression on you. Keep your conversation as simple as possible keeping away discussions about politics or religion.

Also, do not intrude or ask personal questions; whatever your date wants to relate to you, he/she will tell you on his/her own. Never too, talk about your experience about past relationships, as this will make your date feel uneasy. Making your date feel at ease with your conversations, for sure there will be a second time around for both of you.

Let your date talk and you have to listen well, as this will allow you to collect ideas of the things that interest your date and make these as topics for your conversation as well as be acquainted with your date much better. Furthermore, being a great listener is one positive feature that any ideal date can possess.

Take note that most often than not, people are tempted or even talk about their life story. Be careful, as this might only bore your date. Instead, loosen up and select an easy topic or general things such as movies, food, or anything that is of interest to your date. Or be funny and joke a little, you do not need to be all that formal.

Basically, when you are listening well to your date, you'll know what you both have in common, so talk about that, so you can develop a good bond.

Do not let the "awkward silences" worry you, at some point those silences will come, but know that as they embarrass you, they also embarrass your date. Awkward silences are never a basis for you to conclude that your date is not interested in you; he/she just might be in a similar situation as you.

Relax and be yourself. When "silence" do come, break it with a joke, a compliment or a question and remember to be honest; let your date know how nervous you are (when you are). Letting your date know how to feel on this first date will take away the tension on he/she is feeling and will make him/her comfortable and can handle the situation better. <bio>For more great tips on dating and picking up women, check out our free dating articles at Pick Up Success Guide.
A workers posture can either be good, poor or awkward. It is not always the choice of the employee to have an awkward posture, but can be because of their environment or tools.

Poor posture has a big impact on the muscles. If you are holding the correct posture when performing a task, you will be optimizing the way your muscles work together to create your movement. The blood supply will be plentiful to the muscles being worked, and risk of fatigue is minimal within reason.

When you have poor posture, the large and small muscles are unable to function in the order and way they prefer. Muscles begin overcompensating for each other and the extra strain causes certain fatigue. Correct posture means that the larger, stronger, more enduring muscles take the majority of the work, and the smaller ones merely assist. With incorrect posture the smaller muscles sometimes have to do all the work and blood supplies are impinged on resulting in continuous fatigue.

Any movement or action when repeated or prolonged whilst in an awkward posture can easily cause problems in referring areas of the body. If you reach, twist, bend, lift up, crouch, tightly grip or hold something in place for a length of time, you must assess carefully the following:

How often do you feel your muscles are fatigued from the work? Do you have difficulty holding the position for the time you are required? Do you begin to have shaking muscles? Do you get weaker as the day progresses? Do you feel stiff the day after working?

If you answer yes to any of the above, it is important you take a look at your procedures. These signs and symptoms may be temporary now, but in the future could result in much bigger health problems. Anything worth fixing is worth fixing today so you don't cause any more damage than necessary to the only body you have.

Look at whether you are trying to do anything outside of what is required of you. If you are not then address how often you take and are allowed to take breaks? Do you alternate between heavy lifting tasks and lighter easier ones? Do you ensure there is always enough room for you to do what you need? Have you been trained correctly? What is the maximum you are expected to lift before seeking assistance?

Approach you manager with what you have noted, and discuss possible solutions and outcomes to make everyone healthier and happier. Explain the physical symptoms you have been having and express your concerns that others may also be affected by it. Be willing to work together to find better ways to do your job. <bio>Leon Groom writes about http://www.ergo-items.com/keyboards/keyb/evoluent_keyboard.htm", http://www.ergo-items.com/cursor/penmouse/wirelesspen_vm201.htm and http://www.ergo-items.com/a> </bio>

The message I want to get across this month is:

Make Everything as Easy as possible for yourself!

When you are tackling your clutter/organization/time management ask yourself this question:

How can I make this easy?

Over the years I have discovered that systems that work contribute greatly to living effortlessly and more enjoyably. A small amount of time spent creating systems that work for you (and YOU is the operative word) will make your life more pleasant every day.

For example, I wanted to recycle in the kitchen but every day I would end up throwing everything in the same bin. When I eventually asked myself 'How can I make this easy?' the answer was then obvious -- buy a second bin just for recycling! Easy! Sigh -- why didn't I think of that before?

In our society we greatly prize hard work and praise ourselves when we persevere, suffer and endure. Occasionally this is necessary but do we have to make our daily lives complicated and awkward when things can be so much more relaxed?

Easy does not mean lazy (I used to think that if it's not painful it's not worth doing).

5 Simple Steps to Making Things Easy

1) Identify an area where things are not working for you? What is the awkward or difficult thing about it? What is the sticking point?

"Never can find a pen"

2) Identify how you feel about the situation?

"Irritated. It's not life or death but every day you have to scout about for a pen"

3) Identify how you want to feel about the situation and how you want it to be

"I want it to be easy. I don't really want to have to give it too much thought"

4) Ask yourself how can I make this easy? Ask other people what they do.

5) Wait for a solution

Relax -- the answer will come. You'll know when it's right because it will feel right

"I can get a mug I don't use much and put all the pens I find in there. Next time I go to the shops I'm going to buy some cheap pens in bulk and top up the container"

How can you make your life easier today so that you can enjoy your free time more? <bio>Shed your physical and emotional clutter. No hole? Position the flower about four inches down, stick the pin through, then weave back through the lapel again.

Q:Two forks, two spoons and which bread plate is mine?

A:The farthest fork away, usually the smaller, is for salad. The other is for dinner. The spoon to the far right is for soup; the smaller one above your place is for digging into dessert. Avoid eating your date's roll by sticking with the bread plate=97and bread=97on your left.

Q:How can I ask him to the prom without being a nervous wreck?

A:First, take a deep breath and relax. Remind yourself that he's be lucky to be your date. Get him alone or call him=97you'll be less nervous without an audience. Then ask `I was wondering if you'd want to go to the prom together.' If he says yes, great! If he says no, say that's ok and end the convo pronto!

Q:How can I say no if a guy I'm not into asks me to the prom?

A:Two words: Be kind. Getting rejected isn't easy. Say `No thanks but I'm flattered you asked.' You may feel bad about hurting his feelings, but saying `Maybe' even if you'd never go with him may fill an awkward silence but will only prolong the awkward situation.

Q:Is it a fashion faux pas to wear the same dress to two different proms?

A:Not at all! This isn't the Grammy's and you're not Mary J. Blige. One great dress is better than two so-so ones. Vary your hair, makeup or accessories. Go hair down for one prom and hair up the next. Or wear a wrap one night and a little cardigan the next.
Words are powerful in the boardroom, but they can be magical in the bedroom. If you are looking for ways to spice up your sex life, learn to turn him on the next time you get together with a little bit of dirty talk. Here are 5 tips for opening up a new chapter in the book of your lovemaking with him.

Tip #1: Set the tone for your encounter: Breaking into this new territory will be easier if you set the right ambience for your intimate encounter together. Try lighting some candles, buy a new piece of lingerie, or maybe put on some mood music. Of course, make sure that you choose a time and place where you will not have any interruptions and where nobody can hear your murmurs of pleasure.

Tip #2: Give him a little teaser: If you fear you might embarrass him the first time you try talking dirty, try working it slowly into your lovemaking the next time you get together. As things are starting to warm up, encourage what he is already doing by whispering passionately, "I love it when you do that." This will give him confidence about his prowess and also provide him with a teaser of what is to come.

Tip #3: Tell him what you want him to do to you: Once he confidently knows that you think he already has some great skills in bed, try dropping a hint during foreplay about what you want him to do. Something as simple as whispering, "I would love it if you did [fill in blank]" will do just fine. Say it with a surrendering tone that tells him you will soon be putty in his hands. Hint: to keep things moving, be sure to give him plenty of feedback along the way.

Tip #4: Ask him what he wants you to do: For your next lovemaking session, ask him what he wants you to do to him. This will get him talking dirty, which should be one of your goals. Do not expect poetry from him (or yourself) and be sure not to make light of his words if he sounds awkward at first. Just like you, his ego in certain areas is fragile, so make sure to make him feel comfortable saying whatever comes to his mind.

Tip #5: Turn up the heat with new vocabulary: Now, it is time to turn up the heat by using words you would never dream of saying outside of the bedroom. There is no need to "go XXX" here (unless you sense the mood is right for both of you). But, do start referring to each others' bodies and body parts in new and colorful ways. For example, instead of just telling him what you want him to do in general terms, be more specific. Describe what you desire in vivid detail, telling him step by step what you would like him to do, or what you want to do to him.

Talking dirty with you man in bed is one of those things that may sound awkward or even silly when you are not in the right kind of mood. But, once you get things going with your man, slipping in a bit of dirty talk will do wonders for your sex life. Soon, you may find that it becomes a regular part of your sex play. <bio>Want to make him WORSHIP you?
All job seekers ultimately ask one basic question - "Why do I need a good resume?" The answer is simple. You need a good resume to market yourself, have a written record of your skills and accomplishments and to sow the seeds of interest in the minds of recruiters and potential employers. In short, if you want a rewarding, fulfilling career, you need a good resume.

A Good Resume Evolves From Your Credentials and Not From Writing Skills

How very true! But of late, this fact seems to have moved to the background. Yes, with good resume writing skills you can really project your skills. However, realize that you have to have good, marketable skills and credentials -- and no one, not even a resume writer, knows them better than you do. So, if you are writing your own resume, how do really make yours stand out from the crowd?

There are 3 principles of writing a good resume that holds true for nearly everyone, yet not everyone follows them (though everyone should). I call them "radical steps", because landing a job (a good job) sometimes requires new, radical techniques.

Radical Step #1: You Can't Have A Single Resume for Multiple Job Targets

You must have noticed that within a single field, there are many skills required even though the core needs of employers remain the same. Let's simplify this. Let's say that an accountant's job description remains same across industry segments at the core. Still, there are varying degrees of 'desirable/preferable' qualifications across different sectors. More often than not, this plays a major role in selecting a suitable candidate.

So here is a suggestion: keep your standard resume the same while making room for accommodating different requirements. Your resume should never be so inflexible that you can't apply minor changes when need be.

Radical Step #2: Your Resume Must Make Sense To The Reader

This may seem apparent, but it is not always followed, sometimes inadvertently. The fact is that an awkward resume can be fatal to your job search (or a resume that appears awkward to an employer). Of course, neatness is of the utmost importance, but common mistakes such as writing personal goals in the "objectives" section and overstating your qualifications (especially when you are applying for junior to middle positions) can leave an awkward impression in the mind of the reader. In order to have your resume make sense to the reader, you must make sure that you format your resume using an uncluttered, logical layout that highlights the following:

1. Core competencies 2. Work experience in reverse chronology 3. One core accomplishment that stands out and why 4. Educational qualifications

It goes without saying that you should proofread your resume when finished. Then have someone else do so. Two of the unforgivable sins of resume writing are spelling mistakes and typos.

Radical Step #3: Make Clear Your Value To An Organization

Make no mistake; when you write your resume, you are absolutely marketing and selling yourself. As with marketing any product, you need to impress upon the reader the value of the product (that's you!) and why they should buy it (hire you). The sad fact is that too many resumes just don't do this. Writing a generic description of your duties and job titles isn't going to cut it. You have to make clear what the organization will get out of hiring you. For example, if the position is for a marketing manager, you can highlight your sales abilities by including relevant, specific facts (think numbers, percentages and sales targets).

The crucial key to remember when writing (or editing) your resume -- hence the 3 steps above - is to tailor it to the job that you are searching for. You can't hit the bull's eye without targeting it. <bio>Heather Eagar is a former professional resume writer who is now dedicated to providing job seekers with resources and products that promote job search success from beginning to end.
It is always hard to let go of the things that made us happy, and relationships are a great example of this. But trying to maintain a friendship with your ex after a break up can be a tough line to walk. The combination of your past experiences together, coupled with your future plans could make things difficult for one or both of the parties. Here are some things to keep in mind before you pursue a post-break-up friendship.

One Side Still Loves Every break up has two sides. There is the side that initiates the split because they are done, and there is the side that wishes it didn't have to happen. This means that one side is still in love and would have continued on with the relationship.

This is an obvious issue if a real friendship is going to materialize. Often times, the side that is still in love will gladly accept the terms of friendship just so they can keep their hopes alive. If you think this is the case in your situation, then you are much better off ending the relationship permanently.

Awkward Moments No matter how much you think that you are your ex are just friends, there are still going to be invisible boundaries to your social interaction. Think about how you would feel if they began kissing someone else in your presence. Is this a situation you could handle? And even if you are comfortable with this idea, you also need to consider how your ex would feel if the situation was reversed. This is just one example of the potential awkward moments you could encounter. Even though these things are not supposed to bring on feelings of jealousy and guilt, the bond you built in your relationship makes it hard to avoid such emotional reactions.

Considering Your Future It is understandable to spend some time thinking about your past relationship, but ultimately it is the future that needs the most attention. In most cases, the only way to move on is to leave the old situation behind. Trying to maintain a friendship with your ex just because it is the comfortable thing to do will only limit your options in life. There will always be a connection between you and everyone else will continue to associate you with your ex for as long as you let it go on. You may even miss out on other dating opportunities because outsiders might think you are still together. While separating yourself may make you feel lonely at first, ultimately it will open more doors for you in the future.

Being friends with your ex is never as easy as it seems. There are a lot of underlying emotions to consider, and what is right for one party may not be best for the other. Although some people manage to find an acceptable friendship balance with their ex, most others will find that it is easier to just move on.

But perhaps you're not comfortable letting go? If this is the case, then it may be time to focus on rebuilding your relationship. You and your date both want to make a good impression on each other. You're probably both a little nervous and conversation may come hard.

There are some things you can do, however, to break the ice on that first date. And while you're breaking the ice, you can be observing your guy to decide whether you want a second date with him.

Dating Tips for Teenage Girls #1: Go to a Movie or Concert

This will allow you to spend a few hours together without struggling to find something to say. Afterwards, the show you just saw will give you plenty to talk about. While you're evaluating the show, you can be evaluating your date as well. Do you and he share a sense of humor or a similar sense of values? Does he laugh at things you find offensive?

Dating Tips for Teenage Girls #2: Do Something Physical

Go indoor rock climbing, challenge him to a good, hard game of tennis, or suggest a bowling match. Until you know him better, avoid activities like hiking that will put the two of you together in an isolated area. Observe his attitude and see how does he react if you win? Does he get sullen and resentful, or is he pleased for you?

Dating Tips for Teenage Girls #3: Double (or Triple, or Quadruple) Date

Go out with other couples to get some pizza or see a movie. The more people there are, the more easily the conversation flows. Watch your date as he interacts with other people. How does he treat the other girls? Is he pleasant, or does he make crude remarks that annoy the others?

Dating Tips for Teenage Girls #4: Make a Study Date

Meet at the library to catch up on school work. Most libraries have private rooms study buddies can reserve. As you work and chat together, observe his behavior. Does he do his share, or does he count on you to do the majority of the work? Does he know how to work through a problem, or does he get easily frustrated?

A first date can be every bit as awkward as a job interview. But these dating tips for teenage girls will allow you to have fun with your date, while at the same time keeping an eye out for personality traits you may find undesirable. <bio>Ann Marier writes informative articles about family life and general health issues, Her latest are about dating and offer useful tips.
No one in their right mind enjoys the awkward years. This is the time that takes place between ages 13 and 17. Okay, maybe I'm being a bit extreme here. I guess I should say no one enjoys the image issues that go along with the awkward years. First of all, we don't know who we're trying to become, and secondly there's the zits. Yeah, a good 80 percent of adolescents know all about this. You pop a zit, and then another three pop up.

It's a pretty depressing routine that keeps many teenagers locked away in their rooms for entire weekends. Clearly a solution is needed. Preferably one that will start removing acne before it rears its ugly white, black or red head. Getting started can be the hardest part.

What is a pimple? That's an easy one. A pimple is basically a clogged pore that has erupted. Since oil, dirt and grime are trapped in there with the hair follicle, an irritating bump appears. This means the trick to removing acne lies in the cleansing and balancing of your face. Always use a gentle cleanser that removes dirt, oil and make-up residue. This way your precious pores are less likely to get clogged. Check out what Neutrogena has to offer.

Secondly you'll want to use a preventative product on your face. The goal is not simply removing acne, but keeping it gone as well. Maybe you should visit a local dermatologist to see if Differin is right for your condition. You can also see what the local drugstore has to offer as far as astringents, creams and moisturizers go.

It's not just about proper grooming. A major aspect of removing acne permanently concerns your diet. What are you consuming on a daily basis? I can tell you right now if it's loaded with sugar, fat or salt, it's going to have an impact on your skin. It's time to think fresh vegetables, low-fat foods and plenty of water.

This is how you tackle the acne issue from the inside-out. Feed your body what it needs to repair and provide you with a clean, zit free complexion. I guarantee you will see a difference in your condition after only a week of healthy dieting. Eat right and look great. <bio>Ann Merier writes articles about the home and family health.Article topics include mothers day, diabetes, detox diet, yoga, pilates exercise http://skincare.ultimatehealthinfo.com/ http://beginnersyoga.ultimatehealthinfo.com http://besttreatmentforacne.ultimatehealthinfo.com/ </bio>

When the wedding bells rang throughout the town, and you and your new husband ran arm and arm from the church into the waiting limousine, you surely had no idea that you would be pregnant soon after.

At first, the sex was great, earth shattering even, but then the pregnancy "blahs" set in and now you would rather curl up with a good romance novel than have to go through the matter of having sex. Having to take all your clothes off, actually do the deed, and then clean up afterwards sounds like too much work in your condition.

Understanding Weight Gain During Pregnancy

Your body is a temple; a pure place where your child is growing, and expanding. Although this is a great and beautiful thing, your temple is only so big. When the child gets to be a certain size, in utero, your temple will need to have an addition put on.

Your body grows as your baby does, and so this might be a depressing thought, but you should remember that the weight will eventually come off and that the most important thing is that your baby will be born healthy.

You Feel Like a Penguin in Mating Season

So you are six months pregnant, and so far you have gained a total of 15 pounds. You always knew that weight gain during pregnancy was normal, but you sure don't feel normal. With all this additional weight your body is carrying you feel like you could collapse at any moment just from the burden. You feel that penguins have more grace than you.

Weight gain during pregnancy has been more of a problem to most people than most possibly would have thought; not only do you feel fat and awkward, but you also most likely feel totally unattractive.

Sexless Goddess

What with most of the weight gathering around your waist, hips, and butt, this can tend to make you feel rather disgusting. Despite feeling nasty, you should remember that your husband is still going to desire physical intimacy with you. After all, he isn't going through the same physical changes as you and so he doesn't understand that sex might not be what you need.

In your eyes, you see a fat, awkward, harpy whose weight gain during pregnancy has only added distress and depression to your life. But in your husband's eyes you are a glowing goddess of life!

To him, you couldn't be more beautiful. You are not only the love of his life; you are also the vessel carrying his child. You are beautiful, sensual, and your breasts are bursting out of your top. To him, you have never been sexier. This is the main reason that men are still very into sex during their wife's pregnancy.

All this to say that weight gain during pregnancy is normal. At times your love life may be effected, but the up side to all the difficulties is; you're baby will be healthy! <bio>Sophia Ton is a freelance writer who writes about family topics.
There have been a number of wonderful inventions during the 20th and 21st century. Some of these creations have been both massive and minute. Very few of mankinds modern creations have revolutionized working life so much as the USB flash drive though. Ok now that might seem a bit much for some people but the reality remains the same - USB flash drives have made the working lives of millions of office workers, teachers, students, IT and other professionals massively more simple. If you already one (or a few) USB flash drives then you'll know just how incredibly useful they are. If you don't already own at least one USB memory stick then hopefully this article will help convince you of their absolute usefulness in both your working and personal life.

So what's so great about USB flash drives?

Small

Prior to the creation of USB flash drives all external storage devices for computers were either bulky or awkward (dozens of blank discs for example) or sometimes an annoying combination of being both bulky and awkward. USB flash drives are also called Thumb Drives because they're about the size of your thumb (although some are much smaller now) and you can easily fit several gigabytes of data in your jeans or shirt pocket thus eliminating the bulky and awkward factor straight away.

Portable

USB flash drives are about the single most portable data backup device possible. They don't require an external power source of any kind, nor do you need any cables or tools to set them up and last but not least they don't require any additional software to be installed for them to work on any modern computer (Windows XP, 2000 and Vista and most Macs) so you can quite literally pick them up and use them anywhere you want.

Reliable

Once the data is stored on a USB flash drive you can rest assured that it's going to stay there and be there when you next need it. This is totally unlike the world of floppy disks or rewriteable CD/DVD discs where they can just stop working for no apparent reason. Flash drives were built to provide consistent and reliable performance. Most of these drives come with built-in write protection to prevent you from overwriting your own important data - if you were silly enough to do so.

Tough

For years people fiddled with boxes of floppy disks and CDs/DVDs. These were bulky, easily lost and easily damaged. External hard drives also provided another method of transporting data between systems but the smallest jolt was and is enough to kill an external hard disk stone dead. USB flash drives are based on what's called Solid State Memory - this simply means that it's the same as standard computer memory in that it has no moving parts and is therefore almost impossible to damage (except for jumping up and down on it or maybe hitting it with a hammer for example. Please don't test either of these theories at home!)

Mass Storage

The first USB thumb drives only offered between 16MB and 64MB of storage space. The incredible popularity of these drives has driven the desire for more and more storage space to new heights every few months. Currently 8GB USB drives are becoming pretty common and it won't be long before the 12GB and 24GB models hit the market. To put this in perspective 8GB is enough to hold 2 full DVD quality movies or about 2,700 high quality MP3 files - surely this is enough for you? No?

The portability of the USB flash drive combined with reliability and the more than generous storage provided by such a tiny device make them the smart choice for anyone who needs to move files between PCs or simply just keep a second copy of their most precious data on a secure and reliable storage device. <bio>Do you need to know what the best USB flash drive on the market is?
Dancing is one of the greatest ways to have fun and get some exercise all at the same time. But many people go through life avoiding experiences where they would be expected to dance because of a fear of dancing badly. These individuals shy away from joyous occasions such as weddings and birthday parties because they would not like to look awkward if someone wanted to dance with them.

The truth is that for many occasions, it will not matter if you dance well or not because you are surrounded by family and friends who care more about having a good time than worried about whom is dancing better than whom. But if you would like to feel more comfortable on the dance floor, then you may want to consider taking dancing lessons to learn how to dance. Taking dancing lessons is a fun way to learn how to dance and exercise many of the muscles in your body at the same time.

Dancing is good for the overall health of the body. Many dances incorporate moves that work multiple muscles in the body at the same time, with arms, legs, and torso moving in different directions at the same time. The stretching motions of the dance movements increase flexibility and the constant movement of dancing is great aerobic exercise.

There are many different places where a person could obtain dance lessons in the city that they live in. Some community centers will offer dance lessons to certain age groups on certain days of the week with as many as a dozen participants in the dance class. Many individuals also turn to private dance instructors that will either meet you at a studio or at their home to conduct a one on one dance lesson so that you can learn to dance in private.

Many individuals choose to take group dance lessons at private dance studios, located in virtually every city you can imagine. These group dance lessons places peers in the same age range and dancing skill level together in a single class so that they can all learn how to dance together. Having peers that are also learning how to dance encouraging each other and helping each other smooth out the rough spots of the dance will help the individuals taking the class feel more confident about their dancing ability and dancing in public.

Since the classes are grouped by age and dancing ability, the students will all be on the same level as they begin taking the class. The class may consist of seniors that enjoy ballroom dancing or teenagers that want to learn the latest dance crazes that they are seeing on TV or in the movies that they watch. No matter what type of dancing you are interested in learning or what age you are when you begin to learn, there is a dance class somewhere that is right for you. Dancing can be a fun experience that make joyous occasions even more enjoyable, so don't miss out any longer than you have to -- learn how to dance.<bio>Learning to dance is no different from learning any other physical activity. To begin you will be awkward and clumsy. The good news is that learning to dance is always fun, even in the early stages.
How are your eyes these days? Would a pair of quality magnifiers help you see that newspaper you're trying to read? You could use a magnifying glass, but that can be awkward. You know you need to visit the eye doctor because your eyes just aren't what they used to be, but your vision insurance won't pay for another visit for several more months and you just can't afford it out of your pocket. Try a pair of promotional magnifiers to get you by until then.

Cheap reading glasses are available at your local drug store or retail outlet. You can usually find them where they sell the books or periodicals. Grab a newspaper off the shelf and find something that you have trouble reading. Then start trying out the affordable magnifiers until you find a pair that you can easily read the paper with.

You'll want a good fit for your reading glasses, too. If they are too loose, you'll feel like you have to hold them up all the time. If they are too tight, they will cause pain behind your ears and on the bridge of your nose. Then you'll end up leaving your quality magnifiers on the table and pick up the awkward magnifying glass instead. At that point it doesn't matter how cheap your affordable magnifiers were, you will have spent too much if you're not using them.

For the best quality magnifiers go to your local optical store. You will pay a little more but there are people there who are trained to make sure you have the right fit, as well as the right strength. Reading glasses come in different strengths and if you get the wrong ones you could end up doing more damage to your eyes than you already have done by reading the paper without them. If you can't afford the more expensive quality magnifiers at the optical store, though, the affordable reading glasses from the drug store will do just fine temporarily, but you will want to have your eyes examined as soon as possible and get a prescription pair of glasses if you need them.

Don't worry about how your affordable magnifiers will look on you. You are likely to only wear them when you are reading, although some people feel as if they need them for other things, as well. You may need them at work to better see your computer screen. Some people want them when they are driving. Be careful about wearing magnified reading glasses when driving because they can throw off your sense of balance and distance and can cause you to have an accident.

There are great looking quality magnifiers at the optical store that look as good as any prescription glasses do. Even the affordable reading glasses at the drug store are coming in nice looking frames these days. There is nothing ugly about wearing glasses if this is your concern. Stop worrying, recent advertising campaigns for eyeglasses have made wearing specs quite the sexy thing now. Go ahead, get some great looking, quality magnifiers. Your eyes will thank you for them.<bio>Matt Franks is director of Fluid Branding, the UK's largest supplier of Promotional Magnifiers and other Promotional Products at www.fluidbranding.com.
PLR - the webmaster's secret marketing tool...

Private label rights articles can save you a lot of work - and a lot of time. That's the hidden value to plr articles... You have the power to change and edit them however you choose, without worrying about copyright infringement or doing a ton of idea generating and research. But do you really need to rewrite your plr articles? Or can you slap them up on a website without any search engine penalties?

First things first, you'd better read the articles because it depends on the quality of the PLR articles you've bought...

PLR articles give a voice to your website, newsletter, or whatever medium you choose to publish them in. So it's important to make sure that the voice speaks fluent English, and the language is not super flowery or awkward. Unfortunately, many PLR websites farm out their work to overseas content providers that speak English as a second language. While this isn't a terrible thing, it can make for awkward language and distinct cultural differences in how you address your audience. Read your PLR articles before you put them anywhere on the web! After all, that "you" speaking.

Rewriting PLR for Your Own Website

If you're an Adsense publisher or affiliate marketer, there are some easy ways to go about it. If you have done a basic grammar and spelling sweep on your PLR article, and you're happy with it, you may want to just slap it up on the web.

Don't do it! Carve a niche with each article instead so your article actually benefits you, search-engine-wise.

Go to Google's keyword Sandbox first to do some research on keywords. What keywords are you targeting? For example, if your article is about cats, you can change the content to be about kittens, instead.. Use Google's keyword tool to find topics that are about kittens. Then replace the word cat in the article - by using MS Word's simple "find and replace" function.

Change the article title, too - choose a specific keyphrase to rewrite the article title. This works wonders with search engine ratings - and in the internet marketing circles, it's called bum marketing.

Rewriting PLR Articles for Squidoo lenses

If you want to create a search-engine friendly Squidoo lens, the more content, the better. Breaking up the content is key for Squidoo - and it's best to use several PLR articles together for one lens. Create a list from one article, and create text modules from others. Don't forget keyword-friendly titles for your different sections.

Don't simple slap up PLR content on Squidoo - really. Take time to organize your lens and add value to the PLR content by recommending links and products. (Especially if you are an affiliate marketer!) find a few YouTube videos that are relevant. You want your lens to be busy - and keep your visitors busy - so take the 10 minutes to add value when you use PLR articles for your lens - it's worth it, and will pay off! <bio>Melissa Brewer is an writer-preneur based in Washington DC.
In dating, there are a lot of written and unwritten rules. Once a particular question is asked, it can lead to a start of a debate between the sexes.

An example of such question is: who should pay for a date? Some women will answer right out, it is the guy who should pay. Some may insist on going Dutch.

Money and dating should not be in the same sentence when you are enclosed in that romantic haze, but you have to be practical and think about who should pay when you go out on a date.

The dating game is very complicated, and any aspect about it can start arguments between both genders. The least that one can come up with is some unwritten, modern-day guidelines when it comes to paying for a date. Take a look at the following:

1. The one who initiates the date would have to pay.

If you are a man going after the woman of your dreams, the basic rule of thumb is, you should be the one to pay.

If you are on your second, third or fourth date and it looks as if you will continue to see more of each other, then you can easily make arrangements on who should pay for which meal.

Should there be other expenses when you go out that needs to be taken care of, you can both decide on it as you grow more familiar with each other.

If you are a woman and you casually invited your man to go out, it would not be awkward or bad-looking for him if you offer to pay for your date since you were the one who issued the invite.

The only thing that you need to remember is that the inviter should pay for the invitee.

However, there are times when you would have more than one tab to pay.

If you decide to go to a movie first before dinner, the one who bought the tickets should not have to pay for dinner, too. Make sure that you contribute something and not let your date pay for your entire evening together.

2. If you have it, flaunt it.

Not in your date's face, though.

If you are on a date and one is obviously more affluent than the other, then the more financially capable one should dole out the money.

If you are a woman and you know that you are more well-off than your date, do not hesitate in offering to pay up. Should your date refuse the first time, cave in, but make sure that the next time you go out, you will be the one to shoulder the bill. This rule can also apply to friends going out to eat somewhere.

This does not go to say that the one without funds should never pay, but always consider the other person's financial means when going out on a date.

3. Get this matter out of the way right before your date starts.

To avoid awkwardness, you should immediately get this issue out of the way. For example, just before you sit down to dinner, the person who will shoulder the bill should say, It's my treat, or Dinner's on me. This is so that you would not have to resolve the issue - should an argument ensue - after you have eaten.

4. For men, give ample consideration for traditional or conservative women who still think that it is should be the man who would have to pay for the a date.

This rule particularly applies to women who are above 40. If you want to get on their good graces, it is still a good thing to pay for a date especially the first one. Most women from this age group might feel awkward or uncomfortable offering to pay for a date.

Generally, women will feel more pampered when a man pays for the first date. In fact, most women expect it.

Men, on the other hand, feel like it is their role to pay for the date. In this case, it is okay to throw the modern, unwritten dating rules out the window and let the men pay for the date.

5. Going Dutch is not a very good idea when going out on dates.

Aside from the complications of splitting the bill, going Dutch would not apply to every situation. This would only be good if you are a dating couple and you are both students, then you can split the bill with no harm done.

However, as mature adults, one shouldering the full bill for your night out would show your way of looking at things at a broader sense.

Paying for a date does not show what you are capable of, financially. It would also show your generosity and the fact that you want to take care of each other's needs.

Finally, if you are in the habit of alternating payments between dates, then you are building a give and take quality that every relationship should have. <bio>My Relationship Tips (http://www.datingsupportcenter.com) offers dating and relationships tips for men and women. </bio>

Many amateurs get caught up in trying to be the longest hitter of the golf ball in their group. The truth is that low scores can be produced without really needing to hit the ball very far. Yes, there is a great deal of pleasure that can be gained from seeing the stunned look in your playing partners faces as you bomb a drive over 300 yard down the fairway however if your short game is weak then you will never be able to capitalize on the advantage that you have off the tee.

The professionals on tour spend a lot of time working on their short game because they know that even on their best rounds they will probably miss a few greens and will need to rely on the short game to help them recover. Here are some simple short game tips to help you shoot lower scores fast:

Tip 1: Hit lots of wedge shots from 40 to 120 yards.

This distance can really make a big difference in your scores especially if you are sharp with your wedges here. Instead of a 30 foot putt for par or birdie, you can find yourself facing much simpler putts from inside 20 feet so you can save par more easily or make the occasional birdie.

Tip 2: Practice from very tough and awkward lies

Do not be afraid to practice from very awkward and difficult lies and situations. This will make the shots you face on the course seem simple by comparison. Look for bare lies or buried lies, uphill and downhill lies and stances and learn to hit chips and flop shots from these lies. Always aim for a tiny target and always focus on holing the shot. With every short game shot the target is to hole the shot not just get it inside some 3 foot circle.

Tip 3: Practice a lot of short putts

Short putting is critical to shooting good scores and being a great putter overall. If you are confident with the short putts then you will naturally be more free and confident with the longer putts which will only help you to make more of these kinds of putts. Line up short putts from 3 to 6 feet from various lines around the hole and focus on a small target and then just looking and reacting. Do think too much when putting or hitting any golf shot for that matter, you need to turn golf into a reaction sport so that you can take advantage of your natural athletic ability.

Tip 4: Build an effective mental routine

Many teachers talk about routines and they are important in order to be a better player. There are two aspects to the golf routine and they are the physical and mental routine. Both are important however the mental routine is more important. It is best to allow yourself to have some flexibility in your physical routine as far as the number of practice swings you take and such. The key element of the mental routine is to reach that moment of decisiveness where you know you will hit a great shot.
