Writing and submitting articles to ezines and article directories can be one of the most effective forms of free promotion for your website.

Here are some reasons why you should be doing this to help grow your business:

1. Branding.

You can brand your website, business and yourself by submitting articles to ezines. You can include a "resources box" at the end of the article. That resource box can give your name, business name, your credentials, website address and a brief description of your website to prompt readers to visit.

2. Expert Status

If you write informative and helpful articles, you'll become known as an expert in the field. This will give you and your business extra credibility which will help position you against your competition.

3. Exposure

Your article might also be placed on the ezine publisher's home page. If they publish each issue on their home page this will give you some extra exposure and added credibility.

4. Permanent Links

You might get extra exposure if the ezine publisher archives their ezine on their site. People often want to read the back issues before they make the decision to subscribe. And your article will be there for them to see. This will aslo give you a valuable permanent back link to your site, which is great for Page Rank.

5. Free Advertsing

You will get free advertising. This frees up money to spend your profits on other forms of advertising or building your business. You could then buy advertisements in other ezines that haven't published your articles.

6. Lead to Other Income

You might get extra income from people wanting to hire you to write other articles, ebooks, or even asking you to speak at seminars. What a great way to multiply your income and credibility.

7. Going Viral

If you allow ezine publishers to publish your articles in their free ebooks, your advertising could multiply all over the internet. These ebooks tend to be given away over and over again, each time increasing your reach.

8. Increase Your Reach

When you submit your article to an ezine publisher that has a free content/article directory on their web site, you can get your article published all over the web. They allow their visitors to republish your article on their website or in their ezine.

9. Trust

You'll gain people's trust. If they read your article and like it, they'll be far more likely to buy your product or service. This will give obvious benefits to your profits.

10. Establish Relationships

Here's how you can really boost your chances of getting your article to run in an ezine. Agree to run one of their articles in your ezine if, in exchange, they run yours in their ezine. It's a win/win situation, that could lead to even more profitable joint venture deals in the future.

As you can see, there are many reasons why you should be practicing article marketing to build your online business profile.

You don't have to be a prize-winning-quality writer. Just make sure the articles are informative and that the information you impart is valid and accurate.

Now you just have to get on and do it. The best way to learn is to "just do it"! <bio>Michael Beauchamp, is the owner of http://www.e-bizresources.com He has also just launched http://www.free-ad-directory.info where you'll find many free online advertising resources, or you can submit your own quality free advertising site. </bio>

eMusic is a major player in the iPod music downloads business. They are one of the pioneers and rank second only to iTunes. They have a diverse catalogue of primarily independent music labels. All their music is in MP3 format and works on any platform. They also have very extensive editorial content, archived shows and events.

eMusic's Advantages

One of their greatest advantages is all their music downloads are in MP3 format and DRM free! That means, unlike Apple.com iTunes, Yahoo Music and so many others, you not only own your music, but it continues to play when you discontinue your membership with eMusic. And you can play your tunes on any portable PDA or your computer.

The sad fact about copy protecting music with DRM is the version varies from one company to the next. For instance, you can only play your DRM protected iTunes on your iPod, iPhone or your desktop with the iTunes player installed.

According to The New York Times:

"A major difference between eMusic's service and other online music stores is that the tracks are delivered in the unprotected MP3 format, which means=85 that the songs will play on all portable music players, including the Apple iPod=AE" Another advantage of eMusic is the music is totally legal to download, unlike the prevalent P2P file sharing sites. Don't get me wrong, many of the top unlimited music download sites are definitely legal, to a certain respect.

One of the things I really like about eMusic is they let you download 25 songs free before you have to pay the minimum $9.99 per month for 30 songs. So the 25 free ones is almost like a month's worth of downloads for nothing. Not to mention the 33 cents per song blows away MSN and iTunes 99 cents per song. And it's even less with the other levels with 50 and 75 songs per month at $14.99 and $19.99 respectively!

One slight disadvantage with eMusic is although they offer millions of music tracks; they're primarily "indie" or independent artists. But, all their music is legitimately licensed from independent record labels so you don't have to be concerned about downloading illegal files.

They do have some major labels like Johnny Cash, The White Stripes, The Prodigy and Mobi. And they're continually increasing them regularly as the DRM free movement is spreading. America is behind the Europeans in that regard.

eMusic's Interface

So like I mentioned, eMusic only has MP3s, encoded at a variable bit rate (VBR). So you won't have a problem transferring your tunes to your iPod, your CD burner or any portable player. All the tunes are accessed through your Web browser or with the free Download Manager.

One note of caution is if you download from your Web browser you'll need to disable eMusic's Download Manager from your account preferences. Then you'll have to change the file extensions to .mp3 because the file will be downloaded with an unknown file extension. That's easy to do, just right click the file and choose "Rename" and change the extension to mp3.

Summary

On the eMusic site, you can search for tunes by the artist's name, album, track, label, or composer. Their 12 genres include Alternative, Punk, Country, Folk, Electronic and Jazz. As previously mentioned, the bulk of their tunes are from independent artists but you'll find quite a few from the major record labels.

They have around 2.8 million high quality MP3 files from over 13,00 independent music labels. And you won't find a lot of them on competing download sites or music stores.

eMusic's online interface is ridiculously easy to use. It allows you to download entire albums at a time. There is a review section and a star rating for each file. Their FAQs are well written and they respond very quickly to emails for support.

They offer a 2 week trial allowing you to download 25 tunes for starters before you have to pay the tiny monthly fee. One tip though when you start your membership, is to be sure you download ALL your allotted songs for the month because you can't carry them over to the next month! <bio>Sid Nelson is an avid iPod user. His site at http://iPodSid.com includes reviews on some of the top iPod unlimited music download sites. It aslo includes an http://Amazon.com associates store featuring DRM free MP3s, iPods and accessories. </bio>

The holidays are fast approaching, and this time of year more than any other is just downright tough for most Raw Foodists. Even long time Raw Food enthusiasts get a bit chilly around this time of year.

For those of you who have no problems with fruit and greens 4 seasons of the year, then more power to you!

For the rest of you, however, we thought it might be helpful to let you know where we stand on the subject of cooked food compromises.

After 3 years of working personally with clients, I am convinced that ultimatums are a dead end road. As soon as we put a big "Forbidden Foods" list in front of our faces, we end up with bingeing, guilt trips and food obsessions!

It is more harmful to continually put your body through a raw food roller coaster than to find a happy medium and stick to it. I've said in the past, I would prefer that 80% of the population be 60% raw than 4% of the population be 100%.

The goal, remember, is not putting a "Raw Foodist" stamp on your forehead at the end of the day. We're engaged in the pursuit of health, high energy living and ideally we're doing this in a way that takes environmental impact of our choices into consideration as well.

So, if you're not willing to have a hard-core Christmas, then here's what I recommend you take into consideration. When restrictions are removed, the urgency to indulge in, or overeat, "forbidden foods" vanishes.

One of the ways I like to approach nutrition and eating is sensibly. I don't believe that it requires an ability to decipher enzymatic, anti-oxidant and amino acid vocabulary to be able to thrive. If that was the case, we'd all be in trouble.

Whatever you're considering eating, just look at your body, look at the food on your plate and ask yourself:

"Does this make sense?"

Is the food something you could find easily in nature?

You may be able to find wheat, for example, in nature, but in its natural state it is very indigestible to humans.

Would it taste good if you just added heat?

If you are going to eat cooked foods, then I highly recommend sticking to the foods that make sense. A slice of grilled fish, a baked potato and steamed broccoli makes a lot of sense to me. More sense than a "raw pie" loaded with dates, avocado and almonds.

I've felt much, much worse eaing complicated raw food recipes than I have eating healthy, simple cooked food like steamed greens or a sweet potato.

If you need to add a bunch of spices and sauces for your food to be attractive and digestible, then I would say leave it aside. Also, the extra sauces and spices are in large part responsible for the desire to overeat. These are the mechanisms of stimulation-addiction and the kinds of things that send the floodgates open. There's only so much baked sweet potato and steamed broccoli a person can eat. But start smothering them in butter and cheese sauce and you have yourself a whole other story.

Keep your cooked foods simple and sauce-free. This will help you hold in line your own limits and leave you feeling relatively well, even if it is a meal of cooked food.

Avoiding the sauces and spices will also help you to choose better foods. Beans, legumes, pasta and most grains taste rather boring without salt and sauces, so best avoid them.

Chances are you'll aslo find that it's much easier to control your cooked food consumption when you've removed your restrictions about it. When the food is no longer "forbidden" obsession moves aside. You don't have that lingering ultimatum telling you that "THIS, will be the LAST time you EVER eat cooked food!"

So, summing up, then stick to these:

Vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, green beans and peas taste perfectly scrumptious without doctoring them up with spices and sauces. In fact, I find most vegetables tast quite nice steamed lightly. Sweet potatoes, pumpkins and squashes of all kinds are super tasty, too! Also, a simple piece of grilled fish or meat usually doesn't require anything for it to be appetizing to most people. Just think of the foods you could find in nature. Then, if you can add fire and keep the flavor without having to add a bunch of sauces, I think you've hit a winner.

So, there it is.

If ultimatums are not on your plate, then these are my top recommendations for what to put there instead.
