The new Webkinz are hot, hot, hot. Ganz's new Webkinz plush toys are on fire at retail stores all over the country and online. They are the latest "must-have" toys for boys and girls in the Tween age group. Webkinz pets are collectible, and each month new Webkinz are introduced and older ones are retired. There is a wide selection of Webkinz pets to choose from, and since new Webkinz are being released all the time, it is hard to keep up if you are a parent of a Tween. Just like with real pets, it is good to place a limit on how many a child can own since they need to be cared for online. I set a limit of five for my daughter, but she has help from her friends in caring for all of them since they have traded passwords. Each toy comes with a one year membership to the Webkinz World. Children play games to earn money to buy food and items for their pets. If you don't care about keeping the animals virtually alive, then you can collect as many of the retired Webkinz as your heart desires.

Webkinz are appealing to children because they can interact with them online. Webkinz have also become hot new collectibles that can grow in value. Webkinz toys are plush pets made by the company Ganz, and they target the eight to twelve age range. There are also smaller versions called Lil Kinz meant for five- to seven-year-olds. Webkinz World helps teach children about responsibility, caring for a pet, and getting along with others. Webkinz World is a virtual pet website similar to Neopets, with the exception that you must purchase your pet to play Webkinz. The only disadvantage is that Webkinz products cannot be returned due to the special code on all products.

The games on the Webkinz site are more fun for my daughter than the ones I purchased for her. I think it is because the Webkinz and their babies Lil Kinz can interact with one another online and there are so many games and activities it's unbelievable. New Webkinz owners can talk to each other online using a safe drop down menu. They can challenge each other to games and have more fun than playing against a computer.
