Everything You Need To Know About Motivating A Friend

When your dear friend seems to have just passed a heavy moment in his/her life and you feel the urge to help him/her get him/herself back, what did you do?

Most people would end up doing nothing just because they don't know what to say or what to do. Isn't it a pity? There are lots of things you can do, as a friend, as a good friend.

Stop thinking that he/she might feel offended by your suggestion. There is also a big possibility that he/she would be thankful for what you say or do.

What if your friend ends up in a bigger problem just because you don't do anything? I bet you'd feel guilty.

I'm the kind of person who hate guilty feeling. So, I always try my best to avoid that.

What would I say or do to motivate a friend who is feeling deeply down?

1. Get him/her a motivational book =96 Whether this friend of mine likes reading or not, I give him/her a book. I pick up from my best collection of motivational books. Sometimes, I get inspired or motivated by books that I read. I believe it will work well with my friend, too.

2. Talk about the future =96 After he/she is done with the book, now let's get them to talk. What about? The future. Especially about the promising future. Get him/her to be more positive. Make him/her forget about the failure. Let them see a bright future. That way, they would be motivated to do something for the brighter future.

3. Lead the way =96 Most people who are deeply down have no idea what to do, how to start, where to begin. You know your friend well. You know what he/she is good in. So, why don't you help him/her and lead the way. Guide them, if needed.

Remember, friend in need is friend indeed. Now, it might be him/her who needs your help. Next time, you'll never know.
