Every Golfers Dream is to Hit it Long
I think that every golf player that I have spoken to wishes that they could hit longer drives when they are playing. It seems that if someone could wave a magic wand and improve one part of a person’s game that would be the one that they would most want to be improved.Part of the problem is that if you do not do well in the first few shots of the hole, you will not be in the right frame of mind to do well at the rest of the game. You will also be likely to start off with a better distance to the hole than the person that you are playing with, which is always good as you will have more chance of winning that hole and hopefully the whole game. There are lots of different things that you can try to do in order to improve.
Golfers seem to swear by so many different things that it is hard to know which one might work. It is likely that because everyone is so very different then there are different parts of their game that need working on. Some people may need to improve concentration, others may need better posture and all could probably benefit from a better mental attitude.
There are a lot of courses, DVD’s, books, magazines, Internet articles which all claim that they can help as well as whole range of different equipment that you can buy. It is worth taking a look at a variety of these to find out whether you feel some may help you.
Find out what aspects of your game they will improve and then next time you play, think about whether you feel that bit of game really does need improving or whether there are perhaps other aspects that need more work. It can be a hard thing to do and it might help if you ask the person or people you are playing with to observe your game as well as make suggestions as to which part needs the most improvement.
You may be able to offer to do the same thing for them as well, as they may also need some help with their game too. If you need to improve in the same areas then it may help you to practice together or you may be able to save some money by buying the same improvement guide or equipment. It is also worth deciding on a budget before you buy anything.
This type of thing can be quite expensive and you may end up with a whole stack of books etc which you do not have time to read. Think practically before you buy anything about whether that particular item is something that you will have the time to use.
Think about whether you can really afford it and whether it will be good value for money. If you have assigned your budget then you may rather try a few cheaper things instead of spending all the money on one item.
