ADD: Tell Me, "How Do I Find A Life Coach?"

Sometimes, people with ADD find rough spots in life, and sometimes the spots are so rough that we need someone who can help us through them. Finance, relationships, and career are all places where someone with ADD might run into difficulty. That's when you should ask the question, "How can I find a life coach?"

Life coaches are pros, experienced in determining your goals, and in helping you to achieve them faster and much easier than you might have yourself. ADD life coaches can help you to find a career that's right for you, give you a system for managing finances, and even help with inter-personal relationships.

You probably won't see doctoral degrees on the walls of their offices, because they aren't doctors. They aren't mental health professionals. They are just in business to help you get where you want to go, and in the shortest, easiest order. Think of them as a kind of efficiency expert, though life coaching delves a bit deeper.

Just be sure that the person you deal with understands the special issues that will be presented because you have ADD. If they don't get it, find another coach. In fact, you may have to go through three or four, until you settle on one that's compatible with your personality and style. If you see that they offer a free session, take advantage of that just to see how you get along with that other person.

If you don't see that you're progressing toward at least one of your goals fairly rapidly, then you may have to switch gears. But if you can find someone who can quickly determine your goals and at least start you down the right path, then give the system a while to work.
